Some interesting homes have been put on the market recently, from a houseboat that hosted celebrities to a modern house that looks like a castle. Now, a historic pink mansion is grabbing people's attention, Seattle-Pi reports.

The Starret House, also known as the "Grand Dame" of Port Townsend, Washington, is a Victorian-style mansion listed on the National Historic Register.

George Starret built the home back in 1889 for himself and his bride, Ann Van Bokklen. She also had her hand in the mansion's interior design. Reporters learned she was the mind behind the frescos at the top of the mansion's tower.

The contractor's mansion is considered a "national architectural treasure," featuring a Queen Anne-style design and a free-standing spiral stairway. Historians say that the home even had central heating, a rare feature in homes back in the late 1800s.

The Smithsonian Institution believes the historic home "to be the last of its kind in America," according to Megan Ockerman of the Society of Architectural Historians.

Besides its impressive design and long history, the Starret House comes with 11 bedrooms, 10 bathrooms, a parlor, a library, a sitting room, and more. It's also close to Port Townsend Bay, the downtown area, and many shops.

The home is listed on the market at $1.5 million. It's currently operating as a bed and breakfast, but it could make for a nice single-family home.
