The Utah Jazz announced that the entire team is now 100% vaccinated against COVID-19, reported 2 KUTV. This news comes as the NBA is getting ready for the start of its third season in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.
General manager Justin Zanik shared the news at the team's annual media day. Zanik said that the team has reached the full vaccination status just in time for training camp, which starts on Tuesday.
Several other players in the league announced that they are choosing not to be vaccinated against the virus ahead of the new upcoming season.
Last year, two Jazz players made headlines for being the first players in the NBA to test positive for the coronavirus. Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell both tested positive for the virus in March of 2020.
Last week, the Jazz announced that any fans who are wanting to attend home games in Vivint Arena will need to either be vaccinated against the virus or receive a negative COVID-19 test.
Regular season games for the Utah Jazz begin on October 20th. The season opener will be against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
