All criminal charges have been dropped against six University of Kentucky football players accused of forcing their way into a frat party.
A grand jury on Tuesday declined to indict Reuben Adams, Robert McClain, Devito Tisdale, Joel Williams, Earnest Sanders IV, and Andru Phillip on burglary charges. A first degree wanton endangerment charge against Tisdale was also dropped, the Associated Press reported.
All of the charges stem from an incident at an off-campus party thrown by Alpha Sigma Phi on March 6.
Three off the football players showed up at the party uninvited and were turned away. They returned later with three more players and allegedly forced their way into the house and injured multiple people.
Tisdale was accused of pointing a gun at partygoers, but no gun was ever found on him or any of the other players.
According to records obtained by the Lexington Herald Leader, the players were called racial slurs by those at the party. That and alcohol “played a significant role” in the fights that broke out that night.
With the charges now dropped, all six players are no longer suspended from the football team.
