3 Tennessee Cities Are Among 2021's Best Places To Live In The U.S.

Tennessee has many wonderful towns that people call home, and a few have even gained national attention. Money recently released its annual list of the 50 Best Places to Live in the U.S., and some of the cities on the list may come as a surprise.

"From superb suburbs to quaint small towns, our 35th annual list highlights the places where job growth is rising, home prices are affordable, and the quality of life shines."

Three cities in Tennessee managed to snag a spot on the list, with one even making the Top 3:

  • No. 3: Franklin
  • No. 16: Hendersonville
  • No. 26: La Vergne

According to the site, Franklin is a "mainstay" on the annual list and has jumped five spots from its eighth place position in 2020. The population sits around 86,577 with an unemployment rate of 3.4%. The average home price is $520,271, higher than the national average, while the median household income is $115,894, another statistic higher than most cities on the list.

Coming in at No. 16, Hendersonville has a population of 61,240 and unemployment rate of 4.5%. The median household income is $88,396 while the average price of a home is $321,952.

With a population of 36,184 and unemployment rate of 4.5%, La Vergne was ranked No. 26. This city about 30 minutes outside downtown Nashville has a median household income of $69,174 and average home price of $230,737.

  3. Franklin, Tennessee
  4. Flower Mound, Texas
  5. Ashburn, Virginia
  6. Syracuse, Utah
  7. Overland Park, Kansas
  8. Centennial, Colorado
  9. Scottsdale, Arizona
  10. Ellicott City, Maryland
