Kelly Clarkson shared a Twitter throwback from 2013 where she posted a video of Ariana Grande singing and asked who the budding singer was. The moment wound up being the first time the future The Voice co-stars would interact, and Clarkson made sure to highlight that fact.
"Okay, who the heck is this girl & where did she come from?! Someone sent me this & wow she is killer & only 19," Clarkson's old tweet had said before sharing a link to an old Youtube video of Grande singing. The rising superstar commented back on the tweet, saying "omg that's me hi kelly clarkson thank you ily."
Clarkson shared the screenshots from the interaction in a new post captioned "How it Started vs. how it's Going," with the singer also sharing a photo of her and Grande on set at The Voice to complement the evolution.

Clarkson went on to promote her upcoming Christmas album, When Christmas Comes Around, which will feature a collaboration with Grande titled "Santa Can't You Hear Me." The record will also feature songs with Chris Stapleton and Brett Eldredge.
Grande herself retweeted Clarkson's throwback, adding "queen !!!!!!! beyond honored to sing with you. i love this record and you."
Ariana Grande joined this season of The Voice, making her the newest judge on the show. During last week's episode on September 21, one contestant, Gymani, performed Grande's song "POV." After making the song completely her own, Grande told the singer "that's your song now." Grande also choked up on Monday night (September 27)'s episode during another contestant's performance of Elton John's "Rocket Man."
Meanwhile, in addition to her upcoming Christmas album and The Voice, Clarkson has been hosting her own show, The Kelly Clarkson Show. The singer recently invited Coldplay's Chris Martin as a guest, informing the singer that her children are big fans, particularly of the song "Yellow." Inviting her children out so they can sing the song with Martin, his performance got interrupted after they both revealed they needed to go to the bathroom.
