A homeowner in Vail, Colorado captured a terrifying moment on their Ring camera when a mountain lion ran up to the front door and growled. According to the Denver Channel, earlier this year the home was visited by the mountain lion twice, however, it's unclear if the animal captured in the videos was the same mountain lion or two different lions.

During the second clip, the mountain lion runs up to the front steps of the home and starts growling. The homeowner told the Denver Channel he had just moved into the home in November and was shocked by how large the animal was.

According to Colorado Parks and Wildlife, mountain lions usually avoid humans and busy areas in favor of places with deer and adequate cover. But in recent years, the number of human-mountain lion interactions has increased due to more people moving into their habitat as well as increases in deer populations.

To reduce the risk of mountain lion problems, the Denver Channel says to make noise if you're outside between dusk and dawn. In addition, you can install outside lighting and remove vegetation that they could hide behind. They also urge you to keep an eye on children and dogs when they're outside.
