A Florida woman who was pulled over for alleged drunk driving was called out by her own son in front of police, according to The Smoking Gun.

Authorities claim 49-year-old Kristin Wiley, who's a teacher, almost crashed into a police car while driving in Vero Beach around 2 a.m. Sunday (March 20). The cop vehicle had its lights flashing and was parked while the officer was handling a separate incident.

Deputies approached Wiley's vehicle and found her 9-year-old son "in the backseat curled up and crying" and not wearing a seatbelt, according to an arrest affidavit. Authorities also noted that the mother had red eyes and a "strong odor" of alcohol on her person and breath.

When asked if she had been drinking, Wiley allegedly replied "no." And that's when the boy chimed in, saying, "Mom, you can’t lie to the police. You did drink."

The 9-year-old then spilled more details to deputies, claiming the mother was drinking at a party and asked her to slow down while they were on their way back home. Wiley later admitted to having two alcoholic beverages at the party. Investigators say the teacher declined to do field sobriety tests but agreed to a breath test, which recorded her alcohol content at three times the legal limit.

Wiley was booked into the Indian River County jail on several charges, including child abuse, a felony, misdemeanor DUI, and resisting police for allegedly snatching her hands away while a cop tried to handcuff her.
