A bizarre sequence of events during a Los Angeles police chase has the internet calling it a "real-life Grand Theft Auto" moment. According to KABC, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department began pursuing a man in a reportedly stolen black SUV around 2:00 P.M. on Friday, April 15.

The suspect led the LASD and California Highway Patrol on a wild high-speed chase, at times driving against traffic. After leading them from Norwalk through several other Gateway Cities, the driver crashed through a fence and entered a train yard, blowing out at least one tire.

After losing control, the driver exited the vehicle and ran across several train tracks, and even attempted to jump onto a moving freight train to escape. When that plan failed, he jumped back into the SUV and barricaded himself inside. At this point, KABC reports deputies with firearms drawn took positions as a lengthy standoff began.

Authorities tried to negotiate a surrender with the man starting at 2:50 P.M. but it wasn't until LASD Special Enforcement Bureau and Crisis Negotiation Team units were called in to assist that they managed to get the man to surrender just before 5:45 P.M.

The man was taken into custody and was found with a handgun. You can check out more videos of the incident below.
