Bills, Dawson Knox Agree To Long-Term Extension: Report

The Buffalo Bills have reportedly reached an agreement with tight end Dawson Knox on a long-term extension, sources with knowledge of the situation told ESPN's Adam Schefter on Wednesday (September 7).

"Bills and TE Dawson Knox reached agreement on a four-year contract extension that ties to him Buffalo through 2026 season, per sources," Schefter tweeted. "The deal is expected to place Knox in the top five highest-paid tight ends in the league. He will sign it after practice today."

The reported agreement comes one day before the Bills face the defending Super Bowl champion Los Angeles Rams at SoFi Stadium in the NFL Kickoff Game Thursday (September 8) night to mark the beginning of the 2022 season.

Knox recently returned to Buffalo after spending time away from the team following the death of his younger brother, Luke, last month.

"Just getting back up here, getting in the routine, seeing all my teammates, seeing my coaches, definitely from a distraction standpoint it's great, too," Knox said on Monday (September 5) via ESPN, addressing the media for the first time since Luke's death on August 17. "But it's also very therapeutic just doing what I love with the guys that I love. I know that my brother would want it that way, too. He wants me to give everything I got. I know he is gonna be watching somehow, someway, so yeah, it's definitely been great being back up here, getting back with all the guys."

Knox enters his fourth NFL season with 101 receptions for 1,263 yards and 14 touchdowns, having set career highs in receptions (49), receiving yards (587) and touchdowns (9) in 2021.
