It's finally happening! Paramore officially has new music on the way, with a new single dropping sooner than you think.

The trio announced on Friday (September 16) that their newest single "This Is Why" is coming later this month, taking to Instagram to share a photo of their faces pressed against glass and telling fans that the track will drop September 28. This will be Paramore's first new music since 2017's After Laughter. The band has already teased new music, sharing a couple snippets from the studio and getting fans even more excited about what's coming, per Kerrang.

In an interview with Rolling Stone earlier this year, Hayley Williams opened up about the new music she, Taylor York and Zac Farro had been working on, adding that it "surprised" them.

"We wrote and tracked something we loved and it actually surprised us," she said. "We kept joking it was all downhill from that point, but thank God we've been surprised a lot throughout this whole thing. I'm always waiting for the moment for us to know we're onto something new and we're not just rehashing the same s--- It was 'Ain't It Fun' for our self-titled record, and 'Hard Times' or 'Told You So' for After Laughter."

Fans on social media all shared a similar sentiment of excitement, with many writing, "IT'S HAPPENING" while others simply said, "FINALLY." Another channeled one of the band's previous hits in their comments, writing, "I CAN FEEL THE PRESSURE," while one person was so shocked by the announcement they, "JUST FELL OUT OF MY CHAIR."

In addition to the new single on the way, Paramore is also preparing to hit the road this fall for a new tour, kicking off next month in California, including the When We Were Young Festival in Las Vegas.
