Here's How Much Texas College Students Should Set Aside For Groceries

Groceries can be a major expense, especially for college students who are less focused on work and more focused on making good grades.

24/7 Wall Street determined how much college students should set aside this year in every state. The website states, "On average, based on My eLearning World’s calculations, college students will spend about $294 per month on groceries this year, or $2,352 for a full school year – about $270 more than they spent last year."

According to the list, college students in Texas should set aside at least $1,728 this year for groceries. Texas is the 44th-most expensive state for groceries.

The average cost for in-state public college tuition, fees, room, and board in the state average $18,325 for the 2020-2021 school year, which was the 14th lowest in the country.

The average cost for private college tuition, fees, room, and board was around $49,884 for the 2020-2021 school year, which was the 15th highest in the country.
