A California man was parked outside of a party in San Bernardino to pick up a woman he knew when something tragically unexpected occurred. According to Fox News, an unknown suspect came up to 26-year-old Vincent Heredia's car, opened the door, and shot him. He died as a result of injuries sustained from the incident. The friend that Heredia was FaceTiming in his car while he was shot got a glimpse of the suspect.

Fox News mentioned that this friend disclosed the details to Heredia's family who described the killer to be a "Latino man in a dark hoodie." Fox11 stated that the family believes others to have witnessed the incident. They are asking anyone with information regarding the suspect's identity to come forward.

"I'm a mom. I want to know what happened to my son. If anybody knows, I want to know… because I know my baby would want that too," Heredia's mother Irene Melgoza told Fox11. Heredia's parents believe that their son's killer could be the "baby daddy" of the woman that he was picking up from the party that night.

"With the girl, she has a baby daddy and he had gotten into a fight with my son. I think the guy wanted revenge for that," Heredia's father Mario Melgoza explained. Heredia's aunt created a GoFundMe account to help with funeral expenses as the investigation continues.
