An inmate is behind bars (again) after faking a sickness and attempting to escape a hospital.

DeShawn Villanueva claimed he was sick and a corrections officer in Fayette County contacted medics to evaluate him, according to FOX 7. EMS transported the 30-year-old inmate to the St. Mark emergency room. At the hospital, he ran out of the ER, still in restraints.

It took 21 minutes for officers to take Villanueva back into custody.

Villanueva is currently serving a sentence at the Dan R. Beck Justice Center on a failure to appear warrant for a forgery charge. He was also arrested earlier this week on charges of possession of a controlled substance and resisting arrest. An additional charge has been added — escape while arrested, a third degree felony.

Police say there was never a danger to the public at the time of Villanueva's attempted escape.
