Luke Combs, Miranda Lambert, Chris Stapleton, Lainey Wilson, Morgan Wallen and other powerhouse country artists are among the nominees in the top categories at the 58th annual Academy of Country Music Awards, slated to take place next month. Bobby Bones was first to exclusively reveal the nominees live on The Bobby Bones Show on Thursday morning (April 13).

Lambert called in live to the show after hearing her name on the air, “pumped” to hear the “good ‘morning coffee’ news” that Palomino received a nod at the ACMs. She’s never written a record like it, she said, captivating different characters as she spanned the country on a nationwide road trip. Lambert aimed to write music about “freedom” while everyone was locked down during the pandemic.

“I’m pacing around my kitchen like an idiot,” Jordan Davis told Bones as he called into the show, in disbelief at his major ACM nod in the Male Artist of the Year category. The soon-to-be father of three is set to appear on The Bobby Bones Show again for an interview on Friday morning (April 14).

Dolly Parton is set to return to co-host this year’s ACM Awards, joined by fellow country icon Garth Brooks this time. Parton previously said that she’s “thrilled to return” to host the show with Brooks (and hinted that she might premiere the lead single from her highly-anticipated rock album that evening). Brooks added that “anyone with Dolly Parton makes a fantastic couple.”

The 58th ACM Awards will take place at Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas. It’s set for Thursday, May 11 at 8 p.m. ET/7 p.m. CT/5 p.m. PT.
