Beauty School Dropout Release Latest Single, Announce New Album

Colie Hutzler, Beepus Burdett, and Bardo of Beauty School Dropout are taking the music world by storm, releasing one catchy track after the next, and nothing is standing in their way.

The band released their latest stratospheric single, "beautiful waste," on August 2nd after touring the globe with world famous acts for much of 2023. According to a press release, wasting no (beautiful) time, the standouts took the stage at Lollapalooza on August 3rd just one day after the single hit airwaves. "Beautiful waste" captures the ideals of insecurity, self-realization, and time wrapped into one upbeat, yet hard-hitting single about a dreamy relationship that existed as a lesson.

“We wrote this song about a girl we thought one of us would never get and then funny enough ended up dating. In a nutshell, this track is about the insecurities of not being enough for the one you love and learning to let that go.”

The melody and lyrics bind together to paint an all-too-familiar picture of going after a love that you already know isn't right for you, but still going after it anyways. Being able to uncover hazy glimpses of beauty within the "wasted time" is where the magic behind the single happens.

"'Beautiful waste' is about chasing that relationship that is built to fail. Everyone has that someone that they would bend over backwards for…but you might not see the love returned. To sum it up...'I can take you out for breakfast, but he can take you around the world.'"

So far this year, BSD have stayed very busy touring, opening for the first leg of blink-182's arena tour, Matchbox Twenty, Maggie Lindemann and Stand Atlantic's U.K. dates. Blink-182's Mark Hoppus only had great things to say about the band after being featured in "Almost Famous" from their debut album, WE MADE PLANS & GOD LAUGHED, and spending time with them on tour.
