Brian Kelley Comments On The Future Of FGL After Recent Fan Poll

Brian Kelley responded to a recent instagram poll that asked fans whether they thought Florida Georgia Line would reunite within two years. The vote appeared relatively close, with a majority responding in favor of the duo reforming.

Kelley, one half of the hit-making duo with fellow singer-songwriter Tyler Hubbard, shared the poll results on his Instagram story on Monday (September 18) and replied: “Respectfully I can tell you that’s not happening.”

Kelley and Hubbard spent more than a decade performing together as Florida Georgia Line, unleashing hits like “Cruise,” “This Is How We Roll,” “Get Your Shine On,” “May We All” and many other fan-favorites. They played their final show as FGL last September after announcing earlier in the year that they’d take a “break” to pursue solo endeavors.

“I think 'taking a break' is the proper term, as opposed to breaking up.” Hubbard told PEOPLE last year, as he and Kelley attended the Florida Georgia Line exhibit opening at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum in Downtown Nashville, Tennessee. He added later that, “we're sort of using these last 12 shows as a time to celebrate FGL, celebrate the fans, celebrate each other, and then support each other on the next chapter of our musical and creative journey, which is gonna be individually for a while. So we're excited.”

Kelley added to the entertainment news hub: “We're not going our separate ways. We're taking a break from recording our music. We're being artists. We love creating. And so a couple years back, we started writing without each other and trying different writers, and now we're both doing that with our music.”

Both artists have released their own music since beginning their break from Florida Georgia Line. Kelley’s latest release, “Dirt Cheap,” made its debut earlier this month, following the summertime anthem “See You Next Summer.” Listen to it here:
