Fortune shined down on a Florida woman after she purchased a lottery ticket from Publix. The Florida Lottery announced that 51-year-old Terasa Katsaros, of Parrish, scored a $1 million prize from the $1,000,000 A YEAR FOR LIFE SPECTACULAR Scratch-Off game, according to a Monday (October 23) release.

Katsaros chose to take home a one-time, lump-sum payment of $640,000.

Lottery officials said she bought her lucky ticket from a Publix located at 11245 North US Highway 301 in Parrish. The store will also get a $2,000 bonus commission from selling the winning scratcher.

It costs $50 to play the $1,000,000 A YEAR FOR LIFE SPECTACULAR, which launched in February. The game features two top prizes of $1 million a year for life, plus 234 prizes of $1 million and more.

According to the game's webpage, nobody has won the top prizes yet. The odds of winning the top prize is 1 in 21,727,995. The overall odds of winning any prize are 1 in 4.5.

There have been some incredible stories lately of lottery winners in the Sunshine State. In one special case, an Alabama man ended up taking home millions of dollars after playing a Florida lottery game. Then, there was a Florida man who said his huge lottery win "couldn't have come at a better time."
