Scotty McCreery featured glimpses of dad life, behind-the-scenes looks in the studio, live performances and tons of red solo cups in his newly-premiered music video for his heartbreak anthem, “Cab In A Solo.”

The North Carolina-born hitmaker debuted “Cab In A Solo” in August 2023, marking the beginning of his next chapter as he works on his fifth full-length studio album. McCreery teamed up with cowriters Brent Anderson and Frank Rogers to write it. The 2011 American Idol champ, who welcomed firstborn child with wife Gabi in October 2022, confirmed months earlier that Album No. 5 was in the works, following Same TruckSeasons ChangeSee You Tonight and Clear As Day

“Sittin' here, I can't believe what I just saw/ Couple shadows kissin' on the bedroom wall/ It's lookin' like my plan didn't work out at all/ Heartbreak turned into broke up/ So now I'm findin' out how a heartbreak taste/ With a Silver Oak, 1998/ Drinkin' cab in a solo/ Solo in the cab of my truck”

McCreery — who released “Can’t Pass The Bar” earlier this month, inspiring a revamped fitness routine — is set to kick off his headlining “Cab In A Solo Tour” on Friday (January 26). The first show is set for Troy, Ohio, with stops in Georgia, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Connecticut and more. It comes to a close in mid-March in Schenectady, New York. Anne WilsonGreylan James and Noah Hicks will join the lineup on select dates.
