Mariah Carey is opening up about her two children, giving a rare insight into being a mother to twin teens.
The Emancipation of Mimi singer is mom to 13-year-old twins Monroe and Moroccan, whom she shares with ex-husband Nick Cannon. The pair were married for six years, welcoming their twins in 2011, before splitting in 2014, per People. In a new interview with E! News, Carey joked about how strange it is having teenagers in her home while she herself still feels young at heart.
"Now, normally I would say, 'Here's the thing, I'm eternally 12,' so I don't even know how it's possible," she said.
Telling the outlet how she loves her kids "so much," Carey shared some insight into their personalities.
"They're really good kids," she said. "You know what I mean? I don't think that they're bad or evil in any way like I was. They're really good kids and they're very smart and they're funny — and, you know, I'm the mommy."
Carey also revealed how she is as a mother, sharing that she may be more "lenient" than others because she doesn't want to push her children away.
"Am I mean? No. Am I lenient? Probably. Because I don't want to be that person that's like the bleak one in the crowd and they don't want to be around me or something."
