Megan Thee Stallion will take over the VMAs next month as the show's official host.

On Thursday, August 22, MTV announced that they tapped Hot Girl Meg to hold down the hosting duties at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards in New York City. The Houston rapper has hosted shows like NBC's "Saturday Night Live" but this will be the first time she's ever hosted an awards show. Meg is set to host the VMA's a few months after she dropped her new album MEGAN and wrapped up her "Hot Girl Summer Tour" with GloRilla.

It's not yet clear if Megan Thee Stallion will perform during the VMA's. GloRilla is one of several artists that will hit the stage along with Camila Cabello, Chappell Roan, Rauw Alejandro and Sabrina Carpenter. Katy Perry will also grace fans with a performance after she accepts the Video Vanguard Award. It's possible Meg could pop out with Big Glo like she did at the BET Awards in June.

Megan Thee Stallion tied with SZA by receiving five nominations this year including "Best Hip Hop," “Best Collaboration” with GloRilla and "Best Direction" for her "BOA" music video off her latest solo LP. Meanwhile, Taylor Swift leads with 10 nominations followed by Post Malone with nine. Ariana Grande, Eminem and Sabrina Carpenter all earned six nods each.

The 2024 MTV Video Music Awards are going down at UBS Arena in New York on Wednesday, September 11 at 8 p.m.
