Megan Moroney is putting her heartbreak behind her in the most show-stopping way.
The 28-year-old singer took the stage at the 2025 CMA Awards in Nashville, Tennessee, on Wednesday (November 19) to perform her song "6 Months Later." Moroney transformed the stage at Bridgestone Arena into a massive slumber party, dressed in a fabulous pink feather-trimmed robe while her backup dancers were dressed in pink pajamas.
As she sang about her ex trying to win her back, singing, "When you couldn't care more, I couldn't care less/ You're a little too late to the party, heartbreaker/ What doesn't kill you calls you six months later," she ditched the robe to reveal a sequined pink mini dress with white cowboy boots, proving that she's truly over the breakup and ready to move on to bigger and better things.
Moroney is getting ready to enter a "confident" new era with her upcoming third studio album Cloud 9, out February 20. In a statement earlier this month, she shared what fans can expect with the new record.
“Similar to the first two albums, it’s all written about honest, personal experiences, but these songs were written by the strongest, most confident version of myself I’ve ever been," she said. "My feet feel firmly planted in my artistry and it was fun to play around sonically, while still sticking to my roots of what my fans and I love. Cloud 9 is a state of mind, and I have no doubt this will be the best chapter yet.”
Moroney was also one of the most nominated artists of the night with six nods overall, including Female Vocalist of the Year, Album of the Year and Single of the Year.
Led by return host Lainey Wilson, the 2025 CMA Awards featured a host of incredible performances, including Moroney, Kelsea Ballerini, Brandi Carlile, Kenny Chesney, Luke Combs, Ella Langley, Old Dominion, Shaboozey, Zach Top, Riley Green, Miranda Lambert, Little Big Town, Keith Urban, The Red Clay Strays, Chris Stapleton, BigXthaPlug, Tucker Wetmore and Stephen Wilson Jr.
