Tucker Wetmore took the stage with a heartfelt, smoldering anthem during the 59th CMA Awards on Wednesday night (November 19) in Nashville, Tennessee.
“Wind Up Missin’ You” first appeared on the Kalama, Washington-born country star’s debut EP, Waves on a Sunset, last year. The breakout singer-songwriter later included the anthem on his debut studio record, What Not To, that he released earlier this year. Wetmore said when he released the 19-track record that the project “holds the lessons I have learned, am still learning, and knowing me…a few I’ll need to re-learn along the way. I’ve spent my whole life learning what not to do, and — thanks to you — I’ve had the opportunity to turn some of those experiences into songs. thanks for being on this wild ride with me. I hope you enjoy this as much as I do.”
“You look like waves on a sunset/ And you can crash on me all night/ You look like wine in a truck bed/ A little what I'm doin' for the rest of my life, 'cause/ You look like I'm done looking/ But girl, the hard truth is/ If this night don't turn into two/ You look like I'm gonna wind up missin' you”
