Speaker 1 (00:02):
It's the best of two pros and a couple, with
LaVar Arrington rating Winn and Jonas Knox on Box Radio.

Speaker 2 (00:14):
LaVar Arrington, Welcome back, guys, Happy to have you.

Speaker 3 (00:16):
Good morning. Hi hek you how you doing?

Speaker 2 (00:21):
Lots of lies spun yesterday as to why you weren't here.

Speaker 4 (00:24):
Yeah, just one off the top that you said, Jonas,
what was one you use?

Speaker 5 (00:28):
Uh?

Speaker 2 (00:29):
You did so poorly in your mock draft that you
were suspended for a show.

Speaker 3 (00:33):
That was one.

Speaker 2 (00:34):
We also threw out the go to ped suspension.

Speaker 6 (00:38):
Why are you throwing me into this? I didn't say
any of.

Speaker 2 (00:40):
These because you were providing the content. You had the ideas.
You're the idea man.

Speaker 4 (00:44):
I was just, oh, it sounds like I would be
really concerned about my mock draft accuracy.

Speaker 3 (00:48):
Here right or me on peds? You know, yeah, why not?

Speaker 6 (00:52):
I don't pet already know Varzel not trail.

Speaker 7 (00:57):
I mean I have started using supplements now, you know,
you know that that guy that talks about how you
don't have to eat right and all that stuff and
he rips his shirt off. They got me, he got me.
What are you talking about?

Speaker 3 (01:09):
You like the v shred and all that stuff? You
never heard of it. I don't know.

Speaker 7 (01:15):
It's a doctor Drew I think is on that program
or whatever. Anyways, it doesn't matter. I'm getting all stacked
in jack now. I mean I can see the difference.
Not I've been using it, and you see, i'd be
drinking green tea now and drink coffee as much.

Speaker 2 (01:30):
Yeah, I want to sellout there, you go, man, Yeah, but.

Speaker 8 (01:34):
Having just good old but you should, you know you
should do just try good old fashioned black coffee.

Speaker 2 (01:39):
There's nothing.

Speaker 6 (01:40):
Why has he got to be blacks?

Speaker 7 (01:42):
Because he's trying to honor Lee, trying to show some
solidarity to Lee, but you know he likes it black.
So I'm gonna go black damn with my coffee. That is,
with my coffee. I can't get too carried away.

Speaker 2 (01:59):
Now, what supplements did you guys take when you were playing?
Did you? Were you all gassed up?

Speaker 7 (02:07):
I took creating in high school because I was trying
to gang weight. And then once I realized I didn't
need to try to gang weights. Protein well, Permany's protein
for certain protein for certain one.

Speaker 9 (02:21):
Two.

Speaker 6 (02:21):
Oh man, that just didn't sound.

Speaker 7 (02:23):
Right, no, Diddy, Yeah, yeah, Well I wasn't enough protein
in that game.

Speaker 2 (02:33):
Last night, apparently not down the stretch.

Speaker 6 (02:36):
Said I wasn't quite what you had said, var, but
it wasn't far off.

Speaker 8 (02:40):
Okay, the Lakers have got to be so frustrated. If
you're a Laker fan, it's the same thing every single game.
They're winning, they're winning, they're winning, and then about six
minutes left to go in the game, Denver is like,
all right, we're good now.

Speaker 2 (02:57):
Then I know plays so poorly though. It was such
an ugly like they were so sloppy in the game
and still beat them. That's how you know they're just
way better than the Lakers are.

Speaker 8 (03:12):
So do you take any solace in the fact that
I can't wait? By the way, Petros Popadaegas is joining
us an hour three special Tuesday appearance. Do you take
any sauce? Do you take any solace in the fact
that the Lakers in totality led for more minutes than
Denver did in the series? Like, do you look at
that and go, you know one or two things here?
You know it was competitive sweep last year, and still

(03:34):
they're going home.

Speaker 3 (03:35):
His Darvin Ham back next year?

Speaker 7 (03:37):
He's gone, No, please, is Lebron James back?

Speaker 8 (03:44):
Well, that's it's funny you bring that up. Lebron James
did speak with the media postgame and he was asked
that same question, and this was his response before walking
out of the press conference tonight.

Speaker 5 (03:59):
Was there any thought at all that, you know, this
could have been your last game with the Lakers.

Speaker 6 (04:05):
I'm not gonna answer that.

Speaker 9 (04:07):
Appreciate it, and away we go.

Speaker 6 (04:12):
Let's say guys committed committed to the old Lakers.

Speaker 7 (04:17):
That's that Aaron Rodgers bit. Though Aaron Rodgers and and
Lebron Jaying must have the same media coach.

Speaker 6 (04:24):
I don't think they do. No, No, I think his
own man.

Speaker 3 (04:28):
You might be right. I just I just know this.

Speaker 7 (04:31):
They always say something that makes the off season all
about them.

Speaker 8 (04:38):
Oh it's very vague, right, yeah, it's it's always it's
some sort of a vague response. And yeah, like that's
why last year the conversation was more about you know,
the Lakers than it was Denver after the series, which
is why Mike Malone and and those guys were pissed
off a little bit and they kind of held that grudge.

Speaker 7 (04:55):
And then now we go into the office the same
exact thing he did, the same exact thing. That's the
same exact quote. It's not the same exact quote. It's
the same exact quote in terms of it's so open ended.
So now it opens up the conversation.

Speaker 6 (05:09):
Are you talking about between Rogers and the car?

Speaker 3 (05:11):
Yeah? Okay, yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 7 (05:15):
I mean Aaron Rodgers does it says things that creatively
organically get people to want to talk about him, even provocative.

Speaker 9 (05:25):
I think he's lots of people going, get them going.

Speaker 6 (05:27):
Yeah, but he's a little bit pants party.

Speaker 3 (05:30):
He's pantsing.

Speaker 8 (05:31):
But Rogers Heads has a little different flare to it
because it really welcomes in like the UFO flat earthers
to be part of the conversation.

Speaker 4 (05:40):
Are those the same people you can't believe they're with
this flat but also believe in UFO?

Speaker 2 (05:44):
Yeah, I mean those two John Yeah.

Speaker 8 (05:46):
Well, I'm just saying there are people that really both
those worlds.

Speaker 4 (05:50):
You know, I don't think so. I think those are
two separate folks. I think if you believe in UFOs,
you undoubtedly know the world is round, and you would
not believe in the flatter thing.

Speaker 8 (06:02):
But UFOs and aliens have taken a turn, like now
there's some thought that aliens are amongst us. I'm just
saying that they're walking around and they've been here for years.

Speaker 7 (06:10):
Well, I mean, don't they have like task force for
that and order a compliment?

Speaker 6 (06:15):
By the way, I feel like LeVar is much closer
to an alien than you are. John, Jeez, what damn
that's a compliment.

Speaker 8 (06:22):
I know it is, but I'm just trying to make
sure the in laws aren't listening.

Speaker 3 (06:26):
It's what that's the only one I know about.

Speaker 7 (06:33):
You can't judge me for, of course, saying what it
is that I know about.

Speaker 3 (06:37):
I mean, that's what I thought.

Speaker 7 (06:38):
That's what you were talking about, are those I mean, yeah, you.

Speaker 2 (06:50):
Sorry to the knocks in law. I meant no harm
by it.

Speaker 3 (06:56):
I just was just saying, is that's that's what I
know of it.

Speaker 2 (07:00):
Oh, there's just the conspiracy theory.

Speaker 8 (07:02):
Folks feel like they're welcomed into the conversation with Aaron
Rodgers and with Lebron James. It's like a lot of
the Whinos, the people that hang out at Vineyards and
NAPA and like go there for like you know, it's
only basketball, their ten year anniversary and stuff like that.
Like those people like hang out with Lebron in those
services and then they're welcomed into this conversation now.

Speaker 2 (07:19):
So now they're gonna sit over a glass.

Speaker 8 (07:22):
Of two buck chuck all off season and think about
whether or not they should get the splurge and get
the bottle of Rex Goliath, or if they should sit
around and ponder whether or not Lebron James is going
to be a Laker next year. He's done it. He's
made himself the storyline heading into the off season because
he's got an opt out and he desperately wants to play.

Speaker 2 (07:41):
With his sons.

Speaker 7 (07:42):
I don't think I'm going to answer this, you know,
IM not gonna partake, thank you. I'm just going just
continue to tea bag over here. And geez, my my business,
you know is that three you get three tea bags.
I'm successfully dipping my tea bags and it is I'm
tea bagging it.

Speaker 2 (08:02):
Are you supposed to go just one tea bag?

Speaker 7 (08:04):
That's what they say. I want an extra strong, he
wants extra bag. That's right, sound believe. I mean you
can never want tea bag too much. No, there could
never be too much t bagging.

Speaker 8 (08:19):
That's a great point, man. That is a That is
a tremendous point.

Speaker 7 (08:28):
Uh well, and that'll conclude our cover. So listen, and
the Celtics had a great game too, Yeah you know that.

Speaker 8 (08:36):
Will wait to see what happens with Porzingis and how
significant his injury is. He's going to get a test
done later on. And then you've also got the New
Orleans Pelicans, who Charles Barkley says he should be sent
to Galveston not Cancun.

Speaker 7 (08:49):
Is going on nine am in his studio for a reason,
like why why do I feel like we'reing Fort Lauderdale
or Miami?

Speaker 9 (09:01):
Is bright?

Speaker 2 (09:02):
God dang, yeah, it's brighten there?

Speaker 3 (09:05):
Watch it so bright there?

Speaker 9 (09:08):
I can't.

Speaker 3 (09:09):
I felt like you was live, bet Jesus, like for real,
Like I'm.

Speaker 9 (09:17):
God, dag is bright? It's hell in here?

Speaker 8 (09:19):
Yeah, like I'm I'm normally pasty. I'm real pasty right now?
Like it is I look like a h is this is?

Speaker 1 (09:26):
This?

Speaker 3 (09:26):
Is this an attackle on my skin?

Speaker 9 (09:28):
Color?

Speaker 3 (09:28):
Light? I got it brightened here because I'm dark on camera?

Speaker 10 (09:33):
Racist?

Speaker 2 (09:34):
There's the uh one.

Speaker 7 (09:35):
Of the lights is not this like a subtle Was
this a subtlety of LeVar? We we need to have
more light on you, so so the videos come out right,
I don't understand why so bright?

Speaker 2 (09:48):
We need that big neon kickoff light is what we need.

Speaker 3 (09:50):
That's what we need. I mean studio lights.

Speaker 2 (09:52):
Of studio lights, man, you know what I mean, like
the big noon kickoff lights. Boy, they got some studio lights.

Speaker 8 (09:59):
Man.

Speaker 4 (09:59):
That's why people wearing sunglasses on TV though, because it'd
be bright, so bright, and you're like, man, it's the daytime.
We shouldn't need this much lighting. We got the sun,
you know, and that thing will be blinding you. If
it looks like we're squinting, it's because we are.

Speaker 7 (10:16):
Because you're squinting. Yeah, because it's bright in your ass.
It's hitting your cataracts and your retinas in your corneas, right,
all those I don't know who got cataracts.

Speaker 4 (10:28):
So if you guys were to bet, will Lebron be
back in LA next year?

Speaker 3 (10:34):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (10:35):
Yes, Okay, so you're betting on them. What drafting with Browny?

Speaker 7 (10:39):
No, may be taking him as as a second round
or undrafted, signing him as an undrafted free agent. Yeah,
I mean you get to choose then, I mean that
might be the plan, like he should be drafted.

Speaker 3 (10:57):
No, that should be the plan.

Speaker 7 (10:59):
Though, the plan should be to get go into the draft,
go undrafted, because then now he can go sign with
who he wants to sign with.

Speaker 8 (11:07):
Well, is he fully committed to going into the draft
because he did enter the portal and I heard I
saw some stuff out there that maybe Ducane, because has
a relationship with Ducane.

Speaker 11 (11:21):
Is that right?

Speaker 8 (11:21):
Yeah, that they could be the landing spot for him,
the Duke. And I'll be honest with you, I was
going to look more into it and the Dukes. The
NFL Draft was on and I was like, screw that,
I get better things to do, is Dukes?

Speaker 6 (11:34):
I think? So?

Speaker 2 (11:34):
Come on, man, Pittsburgh.

Speaker 7 (11:36):
You know it's the bird We used to practice there
during state state champion state playoffs. We used to practice
on their field because they had a better, better field
surface because of the how bad the weather got, so
we used to go down to du Cane.

Speaker 2 (11:52):
It's kind of a weird location. It just sort of
pops up. It's like just right there. It's just like
right there, really strange. See the little county jail right there.

Speaker 7 (12:04):
Who's over there right out right off the fifth a
half so it's out the fifth alf What up?

Speaker 3 (12:10):
Sam Clancy? Yeah up?

Speaker 2 (12:11):
No, what uf Sam Clancy?

Speaker 8 (12:14):
It's funest Yeah, So that's the that's the speculation. But
the fun part about all this is that the Lakers
get eliminated.

Speaker 3 (12:22):
That's fun.

Speaker 8 (12:23):
Lebron James, Well, it's fun because we're gonna have Petros
on and he's gonna probably unload that night. Yeah, because,
as he says, he's been getting nailed by the king
for years now in this town and he's tired of
it and the rubber's got to meet the road and
he's going to put a stop to all the nonsense
that's going on. So we'll get all that from Petro's
coming up an hour three.

Speaker 1 (12:44):
Be sure to catch live editions of Two Pros and
a Cup of Joe with Brady Quinn, LeVar Arrington and
Jonas Knox weekdays at six am Eastern three am Pacific
on Fox Sports Radio and the iHeartRadio app.

Speaker 8 (12:58):
Hey, this is Tom Berducci from Fox Sports, MLB Network
and Sports Illustrated, and.

Speaker 1 (13:03):
I'm Joe Madden, and we're going to be around to
talk a little bit about managerial decisions.

Speaker 2 (13:07):
And what may have according to the dugout maybe in
the nineteen eighties.

Speaker 9 (13:10):
It's the Book of Joe podcast.

Speaker 2 (13:12):
I can't wait for this.

Speaker 8 (13:13):
Joe We're going to dive into what goes on in
the dugout and behind the scenes in Major League Baseball, cars,
wind whatever else we want to talk about.

Speaker 2 (13:19):
Yeah, well there are no boundaries, right.

Speaker 8 (13:21):
Listen to the Book of Joe podcast on the iHeartRadio app,
on Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts. You
guys gonna watch this Tom Brady roast coming up on
a Sunday.

Speaker 10 (13:32):
I probably won't. I'll miss it. Yeah, I don't think
I am either.

Speaker 8 (13:36):
Yeah, I'm just not sure how aggressive they're going to
be with him. I think Belichick's one of the roasters.

Speaker 3 (13:41):
By the way.

Speaker 6 (13:42):
I think they're going to be really aggressive. Think. So, yes,
here's the dynamic. And I'm not saying this it's like, oh,
you know people they don't really understand.

Speaker 4 (13:53):
But I would say locker room talk cuts like knives, man,
and that is what we're about to get between the
former players he played with, and even Bill Belichick, who
even in his team meetings. I mean, look, I've never
been in his team meetings, but I've been in a
lot of coaches who tried to mimic what those are like,

(14:15):
and that is not.

Speaker 6 (14:17):
For the fan of heart.

Speaker 4 (14:19):
So I think it's gonna be spectacular and it's gonna.

Speaker 9 (14:23):
Be rough, Like who's the one can meet?

Speaker 4 (14:28):
Is that Anthony jessel Nick who talks like very like dark, yeah,
like about death and everything all the time.

Speaker 2 (14:34):
Pittsburgh guy.

Speaker 9 (14:35):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (14:36):
Well, all I'm saying is, imagine that time's eight people
up there just digging in on him the whole time.

Speaker 8 (14:42):
The problem is Greg Giraldo passed away. Look up Greg
Giraldo's roast. The stuff is so offensive that you cannot
believe that he that he didn't just get assaulted, like
he went after everybody from Warren Sap to David Hasselho
like nobody was untouchable.

Speaker 2 (15:02):
And then I think Jeff.

Speaker 8 (15:03):
Ross is going to be He's always the like the roastmaster,
so he's going to be the kind of leading the charge.

Speaker 2 (15:09):
With all this.

Speaker 8 (15:10):
But I'm wondering which comedians show up. Is Gillis going
to get the call?

Speaker 3 (15:14):
Didn't they say Kevin Hart was going to be a
part of it?

Speaker 4 (15:17):
Kevin Hart, I've not seen if Shane Gillis would be.
I would imagine they'd be some comedians that have some
sort of tie back to Boston, right have they said?
With Mark Walberg's and be a part of it.

Speaker 2 (15:28):
I don't know.

Speaker 6 (15:29):
I don't know why. I feel like he would be
a surprised person to be involved.

Speaker 3 (15:32):
I could see that.

Speaker 8 (15:33):
Yeah, well listen, the one place you're not going to
see Tom Brady is back on the field in New England.

Speaker 2 (15:39):
We can assure you.

Speaker 8 (15:40):
There was some speculation that, you know, Brady said he
would be open to a potential return. He threw out
the Patriots, the forty nine Ers, the Raiders, just kind
of having fun, a what if scenario.

Speaker 2 (15:51):
If somebody needed him.

Speaker 8 (15:52):
The new Patriots head coach Drod Mayle was on the
Greg Hill Show and he spoke about the potential of
Tom Brady returning to New England.

Speaker 11 (16:00):
I love to and the door is always open if
he wants to come in here and coach. But going
on the field, I don't know. But if he comes
in here once again, going back to the hey the
best player we'll play. You got to come here and compete,
and he loves competition. I doubt he's going to be
walking through his doors anytime now.

Speaker 8 (16:17):
If he wanted to come back and play, why the
hell would he play for the Patriots.

Speaker 4 (16:20):
They're gonna be just even talk of like if you
want to come back and coach, It's like, why the
hell we want to coach? I mean, like for starters,
he's making thirty seven and a half million to be
on TV. Geez, so I'm gonna pay him that maybe
playing but not coaching.

Speaker 6 (16:39):
I just I don't really understand, don't really understand if
he was going to come.

Speaker 8 (16:45):
Back and play. San fran and Vegas are the places
that make sense, like if somebody needed him, if there
was an injury, God forbid to Brock Purdy or something
like that. Those But I don't even think it's even
allowed if he's to be owner of the Raiders, that
he can come back and play. So the whole conversation
was just odd. It's not going to happen, and call

(17:07):
me like listen, maybe I'm on an island. I'm I'm
more interested in seeing what he's like as a broadcaster
than him coming back to turn as a player. I
want to see how this works. I want to see
how good he's gonna.

Speaker 4 (17:18):
Be back to the roast. So Belichick's gonna be a
part of it. Do you think it's more of a
decision Belichick made almost to get back at Craft in
a way, is Robert Kraft canna be a part of it?

Speaker 6 (17:33):
If I was, I haven't seen anything that says Craft
will be a part.

Speaker 8 (17:35):
If I was Robert Kraft, I'd probably steer clear from
a roast. You know. The problem is, it's not just
the guy who's getting roasted, it's everybody else on stage
and attendance.

Speaker 2 (17:46):
You're also going to get it.

Speaker 10 (17:47):
Too, was Robert Kraft, and you don't want any stories
about the easy target target.

Speaker 4 (17:54):
He steps on the staget eight on his back, it's
on the front.

Speaker 9 (18:01):
Dang.

Speaker 6 (18:02):
Yeah.

Speaker 9 (18:04):
But my point is it seems like he's getting outside the.

Speaker 4 (18:07):
Box for Bill Belichick. He was a part of the
draft coverage. Now he's doing this. I don't know if
this is gonna work out well for Robert Craft. It's not,
you know, And in the end, he's gonna look like
the bad guy and people are gonna forget about his
role in their success in comparison to Tom and Bill

(18:29):
be infamous. Yeah, well, they're just they're gonna be out
there more. He's gonna be kind of be sit back
in the shadows. But I almost wonder too, if Bill
committed to this before Robert Craft even could, even if
he wanted to because now you'd think, oh, maybe they
both can be involved. But to your point, A, he'd
be an easy target and B, well, Belichick already committed

(18:50):
to it, So how's that interaction gonna work out? After
the documentary came out, we're craft based. We tried to
bury Belichick.

Speaker 8 (18:56):
And and also the more that you that people talk
about the documentary and the more that there's pushback on it,
even Robert Kraft tried to say, oh, you know, we
didn't have any input on that, and it was like,
all right, it's craft LLC. At the end of the
credits each episode, it feels like, yeah, like and.

Speaker 6 (19:13):
That paid for it.

Speaker 4 (19:14):
If you paid for it, you can have a saying
what it's coming out On the other side, I'm certainly say.

Speaker 8 (19:19):
And so when when all these former players are coming out, going, man,
I don't like the way Belichick was being represented. And
it's it's not just one or two. It's Brady, it's Gronk,
it's Devin mccordy, it's Rodney Harrison, it's you know, Stefan Gilmour,
Like all these guys have come out after Yeah, like
I was duped, and they're pissed about it there.

Speaker 7 (19:40):
Telling me it was one thing and it turned out
to be something else. That's what I've heard.

Speaker 8 (19:44):
And so it feels like the tables have turned to
where now you know, Belichick was he's got to go,
He's the problem. And you know, one of the story,
one of the pieces of that article that came out
from Seth Wickersham and Company was that, you know, Belichick
kind of views it as if he goes somewhere else
and has success, who does Robert Kraft have to blame
if the coach and the quarterback went somewhere else and

(20:05):
wine and you've still got a bag of craft for
a football team that you've had for the past few years.

Speaker 3 (20:11):
And it's not I'll say this.

Speaker 7 (20:12):
I when we first were talking about it, I took
a stance like man craft is craft, and in so
many ways he is Craft is craft.

Speaker 3 (20:24):
But the more I've.

Speaker 7 (20:26):
Listened to you guys, and the more I've kind of
dug into it, it does seem a tad bit curious
that the stakes are so high on every little thing
that happens, like this is just a roast. All it
should be is really it's a roast, right, But yet
it still turns into like a politically driven you know,

(20:47):
politics between them and what's going on, and it's like
it just seems all so calculated, like who called for
the roast right with Tom Brady? Because there's something to that,
and you gotta believe it's something to it, based upon
probably that documentary coming out. I just think that it's

(21:09):
it's just it just seems interesting now that why would
Robert Kraft put himself You're the owner of the franchise.

Speaker 3 (21:19):
Why would you ever put.

Speaker 7 (21:20):
Yourself in a position where you've become infamous when you've
done so many great things with two of the greatest
to ever be apart more than two, you've done it
with multiple greatest ever of all time?

Speaker 10 (21:35):
Why even why even go down that? Why let your
ego take you down that road? It just doesn't make
sense to me.

Speaker 8 (21:43):
Remember when Breer brought up the point, and it was
kind of I think we even said, you know, that's
an angle of this that we hadn't thought about, but
that Robert Kraft desperately wants to get into the Hall
of Fame, and that there was some thought that once
that stuff came out, you know where he went to it,
you know, orchards of Asia or whatever it's called in Jupiter.

Speaker 2 (22:05):
It's just so good name.

Speaker 3 (22:08):
It really is a mess up.

Speaker 7 (22:10):
It's like like if you were going to try to
get out of this one, like, hey, where where was
it that we caught these people? It was called Orchards
of Asia, Like you can't get out of the way
of that.

Speaker 8 (22:19):
He went from Robert Craft, owner of a team that
won six Super Bowls, to Bobby Orchids, Bobby Orchids with
the flip of a switch.

Speaker 7 (22:27):
I had at least twenty text messages saying, Bobby, Bobby Orchids, really,
really Bobby Orchids.

Speaker 3 (22:36):
It's kind of dope, so shirt.

Speaker 8 (22:39):
So I wonder if he's almost in desperation mode where
he's gonna be Bobby Orchids.

Speaker 6 (22:45):
Come on, man, that's the background. Oh my god, it
was like caricatures of Robert Craft.

Speaker 10 (22:53):
Oh man, Bobby Orchid a design where I just I
wonder if he's almost in aspiration mode where he's got
to try and change the narrative and the discussion about
himself because he feels like maybe time's.

Speaker 2 (23:08):
Running out and he's got to get into the Hall
of Fame.

Speaker 8 (23:09):
I guess Jerry Jones getting in before him really bothered him,
like really bothered him. And when you think about it,
he's got all the credentials, like he's got all those
super Bowl champions, he's run a successful franchise, or he's
going in.

Speaker 3 (23:24):
But he's going in O.

Speaker 7 (23:28):
I mean, there's no way Robert Kraft is not going
into the NFL Hall of Fame.

Speaker 4 (23:33):
He will definitely make it in. The question is that
he'd make it ahead of Mike Shanahan. And the one
thing that I think he has going for him that
voters will be cognizant of is he is eighty two
years old, and so I think they try they look
at someone like I mean, not that you ever should
take that for granted just because Mike Shanahan's eleven years younger.

(23:55):
It doesn't mean that you should surpass him because Kraft
is older. But I think there is a thought to that, like, hey,
let's let's get an older guy in so he can
be welcomed while he's still alive instead of potentially after
his passing. So that that would be the one thought
I think, because it's really between Mike Shanahan and Robert

(24:16):
Kraft at this point, I thought.

Speaker 2 (24:17):
Why the hell would Mike Shanahan not be in the
Hall of Fame.

Speaker 6 (24:19):
But I have no idea.

Speaker 4 (24:22):
It almost like I when Albert Preer brought that up,
I thought he.

Speaker 6 (24:27):
Was a part of the Hall of Fame already.

Speaker 4 (24:29):
I just assumed, and I was like, I looked at him, like,
wait a second, He's not a part of the Hall
of Fame.

Speaker 6 (24:33):
It's ridiculous.

Speaker 8 (24:35):
I mean, like, what other credentials do you need from
him to be like I like he's and is Like
how many as far as like offensive minds that have
changed the game or revolutionized the game, like Mike Shannan's
on a list right of guys that have that have
implemented something that is still used all these years later.

Speaker 4 (24:55):
Yes, so like widely used by the league almost probably
half the offenses.

Speaker 8 (25:00):
And so you figure the Super Bowls, the Hall of
Fame players he coached, the you know, his innovations and
ideas and stuff that he uses and still just not
in the Hall of Fame. There's no scandal, there's no
like you know, background issues or anything like that, and
for whatever reason, he's still not in the Hall of Fame.
It's just odd. So hopefully he'll get in, and hopefully
that happens soon. But if you're Orchids, if you're a

(25:25):
if you're Bobby Orchids, I would steer clear of that
roast on Sinco to my O, not a not a
safe place for you.

Speaker 7 (25:31):
But I still might get hit with at where he's sitting.
Wherever he's sitting, he's still gonna get hit.

Speaker 8 (25:36):
Like if you were if you were a professional comic
and they called you and said, hey, can you come
up with some material for us, If somebody threw that
at you and said, by the way, here's this in
case you were interested. That's the open and the close
of my set, Like I would open with Bobby Orchids,
and I would close with Bobby Orchids, and especially knowing
that Belichick and Tom Brady are there, just to make

(25:57):
everybody feel that much more awkward. So we'll see how
it plays out.

Speaker 6 (26:01):
Makes feel awkward, I think they'd probably just start laughing.

Speaker 8 (26:04):
I think I want Brady would probably feel awkward, but
I think Belichick would love it. Yeah, because you know
they tried to shame him with that, you know that
walk of shame video from Nantucket last year. Please guys
trying to have a good time with his shirt off,
you know, God forbid he takes home a straight.

Speaker 6 (26:20):
Yeah all we know? Yeah, that up satisfy.

Speaker 2 (26:26):
No chance he makes it to the end of the show.

Speaker 6 (26:28):
I'll say that, Lee, what do you think about that?

Speaker 2 (26:32):
You cannot confirm nor deny?

Speaker 4 (26:35):
All right, we love you, buddy, final like Lebron right there, Like,
what the hell did that mean?

Speaker 1 (26:42):
It was not me?

Speaker 11 (26:42):
All right?

Speaker 2 (26:43):
We played uh we played taps for Lee. We're going
to talk about Lee all off season now, yeah, Lee, Lee?

Speaker 3 (26:51):
All right, it is too will not answer that question, cute.

Speaker 1 (26:55):
Be sure to catch live editions of Two Pros and
a Cup of Joe with Brady Quinn, LeVar Arrington and

Speaker 10 (27:19):

that wasn't good enough, man, Come on man, do it.
Bring him in right the blow torch there you gom

Speaker 5 (27:31):
What are you guys doing tomorrow? You got like a
twenty twenty five mock draft going on.

Speaker 3 (27:37):
That's always wondering the same thing.

Speaker 2 (27:38):
That's lee. Li'sa moving some stuff around.

Speaker 6 (27:41):
Yeah, a moving stuff around.

Speaker 2 (27:44):
We got Kentucky Derby this week. We got a special guest,
Kentucky Derby.

Speaker 3 (27:48):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (27:48):
Oh, and I don't want to wait for Petro's an
extra hour.

Speaker 5 (27:51):
No, I I uh my life is collapsing. Dang, I'll
say that.

Speaker 9 (27:57):
No, it's all right.

Speaker 5 (27:58):
I've been replaced from the job I did on the
Beach Life concert for like the last six years. Wait
what four days out? They replaced me with a King's cheerleader.

Speaker 3 (28:08):
Oh no really yep? What is she good looking?

Speaker 9 (28:11):
Well, Petrick, I would assume kylie.

Speaker 2 (28:18):
Hey, Petros, we've been promoting that thing for what a month?

Speaker 9 (28:21):
I know, I know.

Speaker 5 (28:23):
So they took you texted them on Monday, like, hey,
what's the plan this year? And they were like, well, actually,
oh no, really yeah, oh that sucks. That's all right. Anyway,
I'm here and I'm happy to be here. What a
time to be a lot.

Speaker 2 (28:39):
Well, listen, we do have a little bit of good
news for you.

Speaker 8 (28:42):
I don't know if you'd gotten a chance to see this,
but uh, the Athletic.

Speaker 2 (28:45):
Reported following, Uh I saw this.

Speaker 8 (28:48):
Yeah that that you know, the Lakers are not only
open to bringing back Lebron James on a three year,
one hundred six four million dollar extension, but they're open
to drafting his son, Bronni so Petros. We play our
cards right here. Screw beach life. We got Ronnie life
for the next or usc when you got the Lakers

(29:09):
bade every.

Speaker 5 (29:11):
Day I wake up, I lose another job. I used
to have so many jobs I used to be. Now
I'm more like a Trinidadian jobs. You only got tree
job jobs. I have to say, uh, I did just
wake up to that too. I saw it in Bleacher
Report that the Lakers were open, quote unquote to doing

(29:33):
all these things, and it's just like somebody gave the
King on another big mac odos of cialis and he's
going to continue to nail us here in La.

Speaker 9 (29:44):
We've been getting nailed by the.

Speaker 5 (29:45):
King here for years and it's pretty I have to say,
people aren't going to be into this, and I'm not
by people. I just don't mean like bitter, angry, aging
radio types like my I mean, Laker fans, people that
really actually care about this team.

Speaker 9 (30:06):
This is not going to go over well if they
try to do this.

Speaker 5 (30:11):
I understand the marketability of having Lebron and what else
are you going to do? And we got to milk
it for as long as we can, kind of similar
to the end of Kobe's career, which was marred with
injury and first round exits and all those different things.

Speaker 9 (30:26):
That we kind of don't remember anymore.

Speaker 5 (30:29):
But I saw that report and it was like, man,
that is that is a punch to the stomach.

Speaker 2 (30:36):
Did you hear his post game afterwards? His walking?

Speaker 9 (30:40):
Oh, it was so late. I mean I went to bed.

Speaker 8 (30:42):
Okay, so if you want to hear it, it's about
ten seconds. I believe this was Dan Wiki who was
asking him the question. Yeah, and so he asked him
the question, and this is how it Santa. Before Lebron
James walked off.

Speaker 5 (30:56):
Tonight, was there any thought at all that you know,
this could have been last game with the Lakers.

Speaker 6 (31:03):
I'm not gonna answer that.

Speaker 2 (31:05):
Appreciate it and that's just basketball, guys, Yeah, that's it.

Speaker 9 (31:08):
He's just basketball.

Speaker 3 (31:09):
I don't know. I don't know if I want to
answer that it's just basketball. Yet you know, maybe I'll
wait for that. Petrock.

Speaker 5 (31:15):
He's a great player, there's no doubt he's one of
the all time greats. It can't be argued with. But man,
what a confounding person to cover. And the thing is,
it's like we're not none of us are this dumb,
but Lebron probably is, and we all just kind of
go along with it, like, okay, whatever you say, like

(31:36):
it is amazing, and I'm sorry that I never felt
this way when he was in Cleveland and Miami and
people would say, no, no, no, this guy is all
the weird.

Speaker 9 (31:46):
Subtweeting and all that stuff.

Speaker 5 (31:48):
This guy it's it's it's insufferable, and it truly is.

Speaker 9 (31:54):
It truly is so good luck to the Lakers.

Speaker 5 (31:56):
We usually have Genie Buss come out every summer to
one of our events, you know, on our summer thing
that we do, and you know, we just kind of
grin and Barrett and be like, hey, so, yeah, you're
getting married to Jay Moore. Okay, great, you know, like
we you know, we just tell her everything's awesome. I
don't know what I'm gonna do this, sir. You know,

(32:20):
if they bring Lebron back and draft Browny, Like, how
am I going to be, like, hey, welcome to the show.

Speaker 9 (32:25):
Gee, you know, like I.

Speaker 5 (32:29):
Mean, I don't care. It's it's funny for all of us.
But if I was a Laker fan, and I know
there's a lot out there, if you thought Kobe was polarizing,
which he was. People don't realize that, but Kobe was
probably the most polarizing basketball player in the history of
basketball before this guy. And he happens to be here
in LA and unlike Kobe, he's not a lifetime Laker

(32:52):
or anything like that. And we talk about it. All
those things. They kind of become on savory. And it
all started when he arrived in town and said he
was going to show up at a Blaze Pizza and he
never showed. A couple thousand people came out there ready
to see the King, and what did they get to see?
Nothing but the blight that we live amongst all the
time here in the city of Los Angeles.

Speaker 9 (33:12):
Nothing.

Speaker 8 (33:13):
Yeah, but he did tweet a photo of him in
a swimming pool at the time those fans were waiting
in the sun to see him.

Speaker 9 (33:18):
A believe Yeah, he's got a great finger on the pulse.
So what people want?

Speaker 6 (33:22):
Hand on the shaft.

Speaker 9 (33:23):
Yeah, he really does.

Speaker 5 (33:24):
He's got a hand on the shaft of the remote
control of the world. We're getting nailed by the king.
Brady got to come down. It feels great, Okay.

Speaker 4 (33:33):
I try to uh yeah, well we have to wear
a mask on what that that happens, so I try
to avoid that. I'm not sure really where to go
from here. I I understand the topic of the Lakers
only because I guess it's like, what are you talking
about Bronni Well, not so much even Bronne, Its just
like what are they selling?

Speaker 6 (33:54):
Like? I actually think the Clippers are a more.

Speaker 9 (33:58):
Well arena.

Speaker 5 (34:00):
New Arena is going to open up next year and
they got more toilets than anybody in the history of
the world.

Speaker 4 (34:05):
Sweet because all the vegan diets out there, all those
evils people are eating what they've done to Uh.

Speaker 9 (34:13):
I thought there was spelled.

Speaker 4 (34:14):
A kai are joking. It's a joke, you were people
are sprinkling a fire hose.

Speaker 9 (34:21):
Thanks geez, it's so a defecation joke. Is that the
direction you wanted to do?

Speaker 5 (34:30):
Well? I guess I said, grew yeah, grow up? Thanks
Listen they're opening a new arena in Inglewood. Everybody knows that.
The thing that bothers me about it is now that
there's like these two big arenas in Inglewood and they
reopened the Forum as a concert venue. Do you know
they've closed seven schools in Inglewood since then? They closed

(34:53):
They're closing more morning Side High and Morningside High schools
where Byron Scott and Lisa Leslie. Jim Herrick was the
coach there before he went to Pepperdine. Now I don't
under the financial situation and how they've been mismanaged or
what have they been doing in Inglewood over the years.
That's part of the argument. But really what the argument

(35:16):
is from what I understand, is now that all these
places have gone to Inglewood and they've kind of revitalized
the community in a certain way if you look at
it like that where they scoop all the hoboes out
and stuff when they had the Super Bowl to act
like there's no hoboes there. They closed seven schools because
the property is so valuable now and they can sell

(35:37):
the property. Dude, they close seven schools for kids in Inglewood.
It's so it's kind of hard to be like, yeah,
I can't wait for this new Clipper arena. It reminds
me of that story. And Morningside High is the most
recognizable one because it's a high school, but the rest
are like middle schools and junior highs and stuff, and

(35:58):
it's all bs because they're changing that whole city around
because the Clippers are showing up.

Speaker 9 (36:05):
But hey, toilets.

Speaker 8 (36:06):
I mean, as long as they don't touch Randy's Donuts.
I think that's really the most important thing of all this.

Speaker 9 (36:11):
If Randy's Donuts becomes a Krispy Kreme.

Speaker 2 (36:13):
Then.

Speaker 7 (36:19):
Can I ask one question for we let you go,
or at least I don't know, maybe another question after,
But what was your what was your opinion on your
boy Caleb getting drafted?

Speaker 5 (36:31):
I mean, you know, a long distance call from a
mystery blonde.

Speaker 9 (36:39):
I mean he was getting like there was it would
have been.

Speaker 5 (36:42):
A shock if he wasn't right right, Yes, yeah, I
mean I'd find the draft interesting later, you know, usually
around the time the second round starts, because like that's
when people I covered a bunch get drafted, right, like
weird players like that tight end from Kansas State. You know,
people like that, and that's cool. I'm always excited to

(37:06):
see how that plays out because it's less predictable and
and that's kind of where my football expertise lies. But
in the first round, I mean, you guys got drafted,
you guys went.

Speaker 9 (37:20):
Through the process. You understand so much more about it.

Speaker 5 (37:22):
And that's why your show's so valuable, especially around this
time of year, because you can talk about what it's like.
I don't think people realize what a difficult thing it is,
whether you're Caleb Williams, who seems to have a great
deal of confidence, or or anybody. The draft is a
really weird time because being on a football team is
like you're you're always protected right in a certain kind

(37:46):
of way, by the pads, by your teammates, by the tunnel,
by the sideline. You just you're you're always kind of insulated.
And when you get done playing football, no matter if
you're going to be the number one pick in the draft,
you don't have.

Speaker 9 (38:01):
That team anymore.

Speaker 5 (38:02):
You've been spit out and you're now an individual and
you're just out there kind of floating in space. And
I guess these guys deal with it a lot more
nowadays with the transfer portal and kind of the way
individuals have been celebrated.

Speaker 3 (38:15):
More in the sport.

Speaker 5 (38:16):
But I always think about that, like, these are really
young people and it's a very lonely time, and everybody,
as you can see in their family and their periphery
and their girlfriend, everybody's trying to be close to them
in that moment. And that part of it is kind
of an interesting social experiment to watch. But for me,

(38:37):
it's more interesting kind of down the line where the
guys start getting drafted, second, third, fourth round, but you
guys have dealt with it a lot more that weird
kind of feeling in the draft. And I just can't
believe so many people show up to see somebody's name
get called. And to Boo the governor of Michigan, it's

(39:00):
seven hundred thousand people showed up for that. Like hey,
we're the Denver people. We wear big Denver hats. It's
like like, did the NFL place you there?

Speaker 9 (39:09):
Do they give you the sign? Like people love football?

Speaker 5 (39:13):
Man, I get it, but it's not foot log, But
it's not football.

Speaker 3 (39:17):
They're not getting nailed by the King.

Speaker 9 (39:19):
You're right, You're not getting.

Speaker 2 (39:20):
Nailed by the somebody is yeah, Petros.

Speaker 9 (39:24):
The rest of today Petros.

Speaker 6 (39:26):
Sure the rest of the.

Speaker 3 (39:27):
Day, you're getting it nailed. P.

Speaker 6 (39:29):
Yeah, that's Petros.

Speaker 9 (39:32):
Have a new oil that I'm using. Whoa cbd.

Speaker 3 (39:37):
Ta take this? It's called Grandma Parl. Get your some.

Speaker 8 (39:42):
Okay, get him on Twitter at the old P. We
appreciate it. We'll do it together next week.

Speaker 5 (39:48):
Patri Hey, how sad did Joe Alt's girlfriend loove she
looks by.

Speaker 4 (39:53):
The way, is it mere? Did he get up and
like hug everyone awkwardly? Or when you're that big, do
you just look awkward?

Speaker 5 (39:59):
If they had him on the show, he seemed pretty Uh.
I was like, you're not gonna go Hollywood, are you?

Speaker 6 (40:04):
Joe?

Speaker 9 (40:04):
You're not going to stop wearing that quarters him.

Speaker 3 (40:07):
What he said?

Speaker 9 (40:10):
No, no, sir, this was who I'm a I am.

Speaker 3 (40:13):
No sir, no sir, Look.

Speaker 6 (40:16):
As you already making fun of the notre dame guy.

Speaker 3 (40:18):
I love him.

Speaker 1 (40:21):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (40:22):
The echoes, well, there's gonna be some echos being waked
up when the King is nailing you today, buddy.

Speaker 5 (40:28):
Yeah, would you stop it getting nailed by the king.
I've been saying it for two years. It's like like
the guy in the eighties that just figured out where's
the beef, saying it over and over again.

Speaker 3 (40:40):
Where's the beef, where's the exactly where it is?

Speaker 9 (40:44):
Yeah, swinging from the king.

Speaker 8 (40:48):
Come on, we'll see if Petros there. He is the
great patrospa egg is Uh yes.

Speaker 3 (40:57):
Guy, he's the best. He's a best. Can't stop, won't stop.
