Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio. Let's go, Let's go. Okay,
I have a serious question for you off the top,
as we welcome you into Arnie and Plank live from
the Geico Fox Sports Radio studios, where fifteen minutes could
save you or more on car insurance, visit guy dot
com for a free rate quote. As we just watched

(00:23):
the Red Sox finish off the Astros in games even
that series. At a game of piece, we're watching the
Patriots drive the ball right down the field to have
it first and goal. What is that about the five
six yard line? Do you openly route four or against
New England? Arnie? Because again for those that aren't familiar,
Arni broadcasts from the Great Northeast, what I guess we

(00:44):
could call Patriot Country. And I'm I'm a firm believer
Arnie that you are a it's like a sleeper cell.
You're kind of like a Patriot fan, but you don't
act like you try to immerse him. But do you
openly root for an implosion here because that makes the
week easier for you or do you kind of like
to see him win to keep the natives have? I
am wearing my Kansas City Len Dawson, Jersey right now,

(01:06):
all right, I just want you to know that. So
I am pulling for the Kansas City Chiefs. And I
don't know if you know this, Chris, It's already been
a very tough week for me, so worse than any
if my Dolphins would have lost and all that. It's
been very tough week for me. Well why why is that?
Because Arizona lost? No? No, no, I had nothing to
do with sports. I don't know if you heard this,
but I'll make this quick. In my neighborhood, um, where

(01:30):
I go to buy you know, there's there's a gas station,
sells Deli sandwiches and all that. I go to that
place every day. I buy lottery tickets. Well, somebody bought
seven dollars worth of lottery tickets and won the grand
prize of twelve billion dollars. And there's no doubt in
my mind that it was the old lady I like
cut in front of me and by fifty dollars worth

(01:51):
a lottery tickets before I bought my a couple of
quick picks. So that old lady has got my twelve
million dollars and I'm very upset about it. Would you
have still been here to if you had won that
twelve million dollars, That is the question. I have been
here just the troll everybody. I said, Hey, I got
twelve mil. What you guys got, you would have been
here to basically say you maybe might have dropped a

(02:13):
few bombs on the air just for good measure. Fuddy,
it's killing me to be honest with you. Oh, I
keep thinking, is that old lady cut in front of
me and she's got my twelve million dollars? I really
feel like I if I can find her, I'd say, hey,
if you can throw some my way for crying out loud,
But I know that's never gonna happen. But so Arnie
should be a millionaire instead some elderly old lady cut

(02:35):
in front of him and she's the rich one Tonight
Patriots as New England takes a thirty six to thirty
three lead here. So I noticed in this game you
were a little bit perplexed, as was I about the
lack of trying to go for the tie, get that
two point conversion and go ahead and knock this up.

(02:55):
It ends up working out for Kansas City because well,
they're basically a cheat code I mean, Hatrick Mahomes can
throw two picks in a game and be unfair come
the second half. But yeah, we saw that a couple
of times today where teams decided to kick an extra
how's that working for the Kansas City Chiefs? If they
would have gone for two and made it, they'd only

(03:15):
be a field goal behind instead of down by four. Now, well,
I don't think it really matters, Aren'tie. I think it's
a city. It does when it does, when you're getting
Kansas City plus three and a half, that's a good point.
That's what I have. I gotta be smarter about this.
I have to start realizing more and more with you.

(03:37):
We're in a new era of covering sports aren't and
spreads matter and who we are is how I just
heard you say it doesn't matter three or four, And
I know people are you know the radio? I got
three and a half? You knuckle ahead. Well it's been
it's been another day in which we're reminded that this
is a week till week league, And God bless you

(03:58):
for those of you who do have the confidence to
maybe throw a dollar or two on these games, because damn, Minie,
I I can't figure out this league from week to week.
You know, I know it's a captain obvious statement, and
and I know it's not something that a lot of
people really take the time to try to pontificate on
too deeply because we're involved in knee jerking here. That's
what we do on Sunday Night's knee jerk reaction. But man,

(04:20):
every single Sunday aren't here. I'm reminded that everything we
thought we knew the week before it can be shot
to absolute you know what, and in NASCAR terms, done
blowed up the following week. I don't I don't even
know how gamblers do it. I have no idea how
personnel executives do it. And then you see teams like
the Rams and the Chiefs, and I guess you throw
the Patriots and this mixed two. Aren't that just make

(04:40):
it look so damn easy? How is this? How do
they have this figured out? And the rest of us
don't And my Dolphins don't, forget about they made it
look so damn easy today, did they not? Or what? Well? Okay,
so let's let's put this. Let's put this at the
top of my help me figure out the NFL and
trust ahead the October two weeks go, Uh, you had

(05:02):
newing are you had Miami topping New England on their
way to the Super Bowl. There's no stop in the Dolphins.
They get destroyed by New England. They bounced back that
following week up seventeen to Z, blow US seventeen zero,
leads seventeen zip to the Cincinnati Bengals and lose going away,
might I add going away in that game? And then

(05:22):
then then after getting rolled in those two games, they
go out and beat everybody's pick to win the NFC
North with their backup quarterback in Brock Oswiler. And obviously
and arguably a game that they had the most critical
air you could possibly have, Kenyan Drake fumbles the ball
as he's falling into the end zone. Artie, help me
understand what the hell is going on there? How can

(05:44):
New England look so inpt for our partner? How can
Miami look up for two weeks and then come out
and beat the Chicago Bears like that today? How what
that they were so up against Cincinnati? Remember it was
seventeen three going into the fourth quarter. So um, you
know they look good through three quarters of play. Let's
give them that and This Chicago game was back and forth.
It was just a tremendous game out there. And uh

(06:06):
when he fumbled, I just I'm like, oh my goodness,
that was the game. They get a touchdown there. Oh
I had to do was fall in there, and they
get the touchdown and they win the game. That that
was incredible that he fumbled right there on the half
yard line. They couldn't get it back, and I'm thinking,
Oh my goodness, they're gonna go on in Chicago's gonna
go want to win this game. Okay, I don't want

(06:26):
to get into semantics here, but I did that. You're
standing up for your guys that had a seventeen three
lead heading into the fourth quarter. But when you get
outscored and set forth two of those two of those
were pick sixes. So that makes it oh what hey,
that's fine then if they're just pick sixes, And what
did you do about that? I mean, jeez, one wasn't
one to hit off, hit off a guy's helmet, bounce

(06:47):
right to somebody, you know, So so sitting okay, make
it fine. But hey, look three, you know I already
submitted my vacation time so I could go see them
in the Super Bowl. When they go lost two in
a row, the Boss into back, going, you're not gonna
need the time off the fact that they want today,
I'm gonna re submit it. What do you think about that? Well?

(07:07):
Can I just clarify because I do go back and
listen to our old shows. I don't know if the
Boss pulled it back as much as you did, Arnie,
because you were already off that bandwagon after week five,
I believe, but kudos to you for sticking with them.
So then then okay, So that's the That's the Miami
Dolphins in this week the week league that we have
to try to figure out every single Sunday night. So

(07:29):
help me understand the Dallas Cowboys. Help me understand what
the hell is going on there? How can this team
not have three offensive touchdowns in any of its first
three games? And then they go out and put forty
forty on the Jacksonville Jaguars, Dak Prescott running the ball
eleven times? All right, I think it's real clear what
happened in Dallas. This was just about the Connor McGregor mojo.

(07:52):
It didn't work for Rom in the cage. It worked
for him in Dallas, but in all seriousness, I mean,
are they good? I don't know how that Prescott is
gonna continue running the football because he's just gonna get
clobered out there too. He passed runs or two hundred yards,
so it's not like he's tearing it up. They had
a good game. They scored many different ways. He had
a good game, though the statistics don't show it. Jacksonsville

(08:15):
defense not very good today. But I'll give Dallas credit.
I just still don't think Dak Prescott's the quarterback going
into the future. So let's let's just kind of simmer
on that for a little bit. You're gonna hold it
against Dac that he didn't have over two hundred yards passing,
but he rushed for eighty two. You can't rush Rady

(08:36):
two every time. Yeah, matter, vict He won't rush Rady
two again probably this year. Well I understand that. But
he's also not gonna throw for under two hundred. Yeah,
he'll do that. He'll do that, but very much. So
here here's what again, I'm trying to figure out, then,
is it just a one off or is this now
Dallas kind of maybe pulling the reins off and saying, go,

(08:57):
we're not gonna try to make you a pocket passer.
Being more confo, I mean, everyone at least want him
to be a pocket passer. But I mean, if you're
gonna say, well, he didn't get over two hundred yards,
so I'm not that impressed. I mean, damn, we we
had the Jaguars defense in the Hall of Fame after
the first two weeks of the season. We help, we
had him in the Hall of Fame after last year
as well to in Dallas, a team that I think
what was the average, but I mean like twenty four,

(09:19):
twenty three points per game. It was not pretty. And
they put forty on him. I mean this was I
mean it was thirty to seven at one point in
this game. First of all, that may be fake news.
I'm still adding up the score. You say forty, I'm
double checking on that. I find that very hard to believe.
I know that is that is incredible that they put
up so many points and Ezekiel didn't even get over
a hundred yards till his last carry, so it wasn't

(09:40):
like he was tearing it up. Also, al right, we
are monitoring this Chief's Patriots game. With three fifty to
go in the fourth quarter, New England is holding on
to a thirty seven thirty three lead after the one
yard touchdown run by Tom Brady. There's three fifty left
in the game. Did they just pick up that flag?
ARNI So yeah, they were going um and they were

(10:02):
gonna call catch interference and I think they picked no foul.
Thank you. Rob's watching it back in the guy called
Fox Sports Radio studios. Bill Belichick is absolutely losing his mind.
He used to not getting every call in the book.
He said, what are you talking about those other five
minutes left? We know when the when there's that little
time with we've got to go to a booth review

(10:23):
and we've got to get every call for the Patriots.
You know that. And I know that big gainer right
here to Gronk who just absolutely ended some poor safety's
career who tried to tackle. I have done a better
job tackling Cronk on that play. So New England bursts
into Ksey territory. And one other note on that punt, Harney,
that was the first punt of the night in this

(10:44):
game so far between Kansas City and New England. All right, listen,
I have more teams to get to that I'm confused
that you have to help settle me on and we'll
get your takes on it as well to Twitter already
blown up. You can hit us up at Stinking Genius one.
That's at st I and k I N Genius in
the number one. I'm at Plank Show. Everybody should be
following us at Fox Sports Radio. But Arendy real quick

(11:07):
before we get too carried away here. We did have
the Red Sox bounced back in a big way tonight
as they beat Boston, or actually as they beat Houston.
But do we have more controversy in Boston with this
Chrissale thing? What are you hearing right now? He was
thinking in the hospital tonight, he was still is this
a lingering concern right now? You think for for the
Red Sox. Oh, I knows that he has some stomach illness.

(11:28):
I figured they're probably gonna give him I V and uh,
you know, who knows what's going to happen when he
comes on back. He had an injury and he's been
on and off when has come to the second half
of the season. A matter of fact, in the last
month he made a couple of starts, but they were
like spots starts where he only pitched a couple of
innings or anything like that. Um, I was more afraid
of something wrong with his shoulder. And actually one of

(11:50):
my co host said, watch when the season's over, we'll
find out something was seriously wrong with him. A stomach illness, though,
is a lot better than maybe information or definitely better
than then inflammation on the shoulder or anything like that.
So hopefully they'll give him my v and hope be okay.
Hopefully it should be okay to go in the next start.
Red Sox wanted by final score of seven to five.

(12:11):
Kimber still a little bit shaky to some But I mean,
I I don't know, Arn't he got the job done
in the division, job done last night. He's been very shaky.
I I may have to go to somebody else before
I start bringing him into the knife. I've got some
serious problems with him. Well, when we come back to
the Geico Fox Sports Radio studios, we have more NFL.
But as the show goes on tonight, we'll give you

(12:32):
a preview of Game three of the Nationally Championship between
the Brewers and the Dodgers. And Arnie, I don't know,
Maybe maybe I'm a little bit old fashioned in this,
but both road teams did what they needed to do.
I mean, you always want to come away with the sweep,
but everyone wants to be up to oh everyone wants
to win four zip. But to split on the road
like Houston and the Dodgers did, I think that's pretty
huge for both teams going forward. They basically take over

(12:53):
home field advantage. Now. Oh yeah, but hey, pup the brakes.
Pup the brakes, my friend, we got a long way
to go. And remember this red sock tea didn't win
a hundred and eight games because they just rolled over
and they were at you down four to two in
this one and hit their way out. I think they're
both gonna be really good series the rest of the one.
And uh, speaking of that, Houston one one oh three,

(13:14):
So they're not too bad either. All right, when we
come out, look at you throwing that at me back there. Well,
I just again, I think Boston has been set up
for the implosion. I think they've been set up for
the implosion all off season. All right, when we come back,
it's a week to week league. We gave the example
of the Dolphins and the Cowboys, but perhaps the most
befuddling example of any team from last week to this week.

(13:36):
We'll get to next with Arnie and Plank on Fox
Sports Radio. There were ten points sporting scoring that commercial break.
Aren't you unbelievable? That was unbelieved unbelievable. Banana's game breaking
out between New England and Kansas City. We are not
in now at forty as we go to the two
minute warning, It's Arni and Plank on Fox Sports Radio,
brought to you by the Discovered Card. We treat you

(13:58):
like you'd treat you everything I had planned to get
into this segment, Arnie, I don't know if we I
don't know if we really have the time because and
I want to throw it in another one to Rob
Riegelman stewing my my kiss at deathbit for crying out
why did you watch about Fox? To that? Yes, yes,
I my nickname. You gotta you gotta go file some
sort of trademark with that, Arn'tie, or stop getting your

(14:20):
picks right and then that way you won't be the
kiss of death. I think I need to go on
the TV show with him and we go battle back
and forth to see who gets more wrong, him or me?
How did you do last week, we gotta start keeping
tabs on. I'm sure I did very well. Okay, Well
let's just say you went six and out with all
your picks last week. So take that, Rob Rigelman. All right,

(14:42):
So again, I have no idea what's going on. Whenever
you know this is this is like a Big twelve game.
It really is. This is even though the Big Twelve
play little defense this week. But I don't I don't
know if it's if it's just because they're that fast,
or if New England suffers that much in the second dairy.
But after taking what appeared to be a pretty safe

(15:04):
forty two thirty three lead, they absolutely leave Tyree Kill
wide open. I mean, Arnie, there was no one within
ten fifteen yards of him, and he takes it to
the house for a touchdown from what was that seventy
seventy five yards out? Unreal. You'll like this too. Is
is a guy out there locally. I had a choice

(15:26):
of what should I carry, the Patriots Chiefs game or
the Red Sox game against the Astros in Game two
on our FM station, and I elected to go with
the Red Sox instead of the Patriot game. Split him
put one on the a m one on the FM.
Well we did that, but what's going on in the
Patriot game? Put that? I wish I would have put
that on the FO. We know that football ratings are

(15:48):
King supreme for sure. Yeah, so help me figure out
what happens here. With two minutes left, you're sitting at
third and one for the chief for excuse me, New
England go there. They'll go for twice. I don't care
if they're on their own thirty four. Um, you know
it's this is the day of We'll go for it
on fourth down, So I'd be surprised if they tried
to throw the ball. I would run it twice. Maybe

(16:09):
go with a quarterback sneak. They'll run down that clock.
Was the Chiefs only have one time out, I believe,
and they'll get in the field goal range. I'll try
to win this thing by three, and remember we got
the three and a half of those of us like
Kansas City. So don't jinx it for yeah this, uh this,
You wouldn't take that bank when you said, oh, it's
gonna work out for Kansas City. Had they gone for two,

(16:31):
they could be up by one now. But then again,
if they missed it, they'd be down by one. You're
thinking of this purely from gambling perspectives. Four as the finals,
or if they would have waited, if they would have missed,
it would have been all right. So the Patriots will
keep this drive alive again. We've had some good Sunday
night football games. Last week wasn't necessarily the prettiest game,

(16:54):
but it did go down to a plane overtime. This
week has been similar to me, Arnie, this Sunday night,
to what we had on the opening Sunday night between
Green Bay and Chicago, there hasn't been I mean, think
about this. This game was twenty four to nine at
the half, and New England had done a pretty good
job of being able to harness Patrick Mahomes. I don't
think you had a touchdown pass in the first half,

(17:16):
and they picked him off twice, and now he explodes
in the second half. He has four touchdown passes in
the second half. He's over three hundred yards passing. He's
at three fifty two right now. But they could be
in some big trouble because New England is driving right here.
Even though Kansas City has now outscored them thirty one
to six in the second half. I promise you this

(17:38):
is the recipe. Uh And and you've seen it before,
Kansas City fans, because you've been eating it for years.
This is the recipe to lose in the first round
of the playoffs, or if you happen to get a
bye week, to lose in the second round of the playoffs,
when you have all offense and no defense and it's
the day that your offense goes missing. This is how
you lose in the in the first round of a
home playoff game, like Kansas City is so used to

(18:00):
doing first in gold New England. Sorry for Bailey. Uh
he's our intern who's back in the Geico Fox Sports
radio studios trying to keep tabs our feeds a little
bit ahead of him. But what a perfect touch pass
from Tom Brady to Gronk who went one on one
with his safety again and it's absolutely owned that matchup
all game long. So New England will have it first

(18:21):
and goal from what about the four yard line is
where they marked him down, Arnie. I think it's right,
so you're in nine yard line. Thank you. I got
a little bit ahead of myself. Wait a minute, you guys, yelled,
and I wish you could have saw Bailey's reaction all
of a sudden, yeah let's go, And he was yelling
before it even happened because you guys said something and

(18:43):
because of Patriots have the ball. So I I sometimes this,
This maybe shows you how I might be insane. But
sometimes I'll have a feed because I'm a Direct TV subscriber, Arnie.
That's a little bit behind what Twitter is, and I'll
go ahead and refresh Twitter so I know if it's
something good or bad that happens, so I can watch it.

(19:04):
Because if it's something bad, which most of today was
for the Oakland Raiders, I won't watch it at all.
So Bailey, you and I spirit animals here? Uh down
the stretch? What what? Um? What part of today was
good for the Raiders? Absolutely none? Bobo, absolutely none, which
will get to right after this game wraps up. Arnie,
I think you and I don't know. You carry two
teams in the old depth chart. I only have one.

(19:27):
I don't know what to do about the Raiders right
now except for Cris. I've dropped the Giants, so you
can forget about that. But oh, do England's gonna go
for the good? Yeah? Good job you'll pick them up
when they're wins. Spoken like a true Bandwagon fan. This
is why I love you. So I'm sure that was that.
By the way, New England, as you was about to mention,
they decided to move the ball over to kick the
field goal. I'm not so sure that that was the

(19:49):
right move when you have what seventeen seconds left, you
have three time outs. Maybe I try to get in
the end zone instead of relying on a on a
chip shot field goal. But you never know what's going
to happen in this situation, right, so instead of deciding, uh,
it in the hands of Brady, they'll put it in
the hands of their veteran kicker Stephen got Kowski. Here
with three seconds left in the game, it is a

(20:12):
virtual chip shot field goal. But as Arnie said, craziness
can happen, Andy Reid, no shock. Here is out of
time out and the Chiefs are a twenty eight yard
field goal attempt away from losing their first game of
the season. As we get ready for the Steve to
sayga update, the snap is good, the kick is up,
and it is good the Patriots. When I was just

(20:34):
in that for Bailey, so uh in a in all honesty, Arnie,
this is a hell of a win for the New
England Patriots. I know that people are gonna dump all
over the defenses here tonight. And how New England could
possibly let Tyree Kill get behind them with three minutes
left in the game for a seventy five yard touchdown reception,

(20:55):
which is absolutely ridiculous. Um, But I mean, you were
able to hang in there with one of the gun
slinging offenses, and I think you're onto something anti Kansas City. Look,
I wonder if they'll start looking to make a move
to improve maybe the corner position or bringing another pass
rush or the trade deadline. If you think that the
Patriots are gonna put up forty three points on the
board on anybody else, that's not going to happen. They

(21:16):
goes to show you how bad that Kansas City Chiefs
defense is. It's it's just horrible. And you know, the Patriots,
I give them all out of credit. They played the
perfect game and they had the tempo. Uh Brady was
was damn good five for three forty did have that
one fumble which cost uh cost his team seven points.

(21:37):
I thought Sony Michelle was fantastic. They played the perfect game.
Yet it came down to the final kick and because
they were playing at home for them to win forty
three forty So what happens when they get on the
road or if they have to play Kansas City on
the road, We'll see what happens. Uh So, you just said,
you know they've they've scored thirty eight in their last
two games. They scored thirty eight against the Dolphins, and

(21:58):
they scored thirty eight agains that against the Dolphins. With me,
Dolphins never got off that boss, stop it. But I
just said, if you're gonna say, well, they're not gonna
score forty three again, yeah, you're probably right. They only
had thirty eight in the last two weeks. So I
dug it. I mean, I love these kinds of football games.
I know the defensive purists out there will bitch and moan,
but big win for New England tonight. By the way,
somebody sent us a video of Tyreek Hill scoring on

(22:20):
that last touchdown to tie it up and then giving
the one single, one finger salute. And because you do
the one finger salute, what do you think the Patriot
fans do in return? They throw a liquid beverage at you.
Uh So, I just wanted to go and throw that
out there. Also, oh, I think the fans were flipping
him off. It says somebody was throwing a liquids at

(22:43):
Tyreek Hill. Yeah, yeah, yeah, And when he got right
to there, there is a fan flipping him off right
in his face, and then they throw a beer right
in his In fact, in fact, I think I think
I might have might have found my third wife that's
sitting right there giving the middle finger in the front row.
So yeah, there you go. But in the end, the
Patriots end up pulling it off forty three to forty. Alright, listen,

(23:06):
I've got to get to another team. That's confusing me.
Maybe we'll have to change stock up stock down? Two?
Are they good? Are they bad? Later on in the show,
But right now, Steve de Seger is in the house
to help us recap that thrilling, amazing Sunday night football
win between the Patriots and the Chiefs. What's going on, Steve, Hello, gentlemen,
and what and evening for Boston fort sports fans. Let's
let's put it in this context. First off, you had

(23:28):
a baseball playoff game where David Price started and you won. Yeah,
that has never happened before, and did he get the
I don't know if he didn't get the win, but
he had. He's over in the postseason. He had had
ten career postseason starts the r A over six, but
his teams had lost all ten until tonight. They scored

(23:50):
enough early, especially against Garrett Colan one seven to five,
and then about thirty miles or so south, you get
to the game in Foxboro and New England gives up
forty points and wins. I was looking up if we
were gonna have the highest scoring tie game ever, because
remember it's only a ten minute overtime now, and the
Chiefs tied at forty all latent regulation, but no. Still

(24:11):
the highest scoring tie game ever was the first ever
overtime game for NFL regular season. It was thirty five
o nine seventy four. Steelers broad goes of course steal
the record, but there have been plenty games where each
team scored at yeah, nine seventies. Of course it would
be that went out of my head. Very good, No

(24:31):
wonder they didn't win short field goal final play for
New England to win this one tonight, even though for
Kansas City, Tyreek Hill had three touchdown catches seven receptions
a hundred forty two yards, including the late seventy five
yard t d when he put on the afterburners down
the sidelines and it looked like the defenders were running
in mud as he tied the game forty all, but

(24:53):
Gaskowski with the twenty eight yard field goal to win it.
So in the end, a New England victory and Kansas
City he suffers its first loss. They had been five
and oh the Rams now six and oh over in
the NFC after a win at Denver. Today, no snow
on the field, although that's only because they shoveled it
all off. There was plenty the day before the game,

(25:14):
twenty five degrees, and the l A team still goes
in and wins. In fact, they led Denver twenty to
three late in the third quarter. Todd Gurley two eight
yards rushing and two touchdowns Dallas in Baltimore with victories.
Pittsburgh got a late TV pass to win at Cincinnati
Miami and overtime over Chicago, Houston and the Chargers with victories.
Ohio State is up to number two in the new

(25:35):
College football polls, behind number one Alabama. NASCAR win for
Eric Almarola at Talladega as Kurt Bush ran out of
gas on the final lap. Almarole only led one lap today,
the last one, so he gets his first Cup Series
victory in four years. So he clinches the spot in
the round of eight. Back to you, thanks Steve, We
come to you live from the Geico Fox Sports Radio Studios,

(25:57):
which thanks the question what did you mean when Geico
said us just fifteen minutes could save you fifteen percent
or more on car insurance? Well, I means you probably
should have gone to guy dot com fifteen minutes ago.
That was insane. Tonight, good, good game, Good night. As
Steve said, oh, Aren, he's not gonna like this because
both Boston area teams won. You need a little bit
of negativity, right Chiefs. Well, the Chiefs was three and

(26:19):
a half, So I feel good about that. I at
least I got that going for me. By the way,
the Browns were really a favorite today against the Chargers.
Did you have amazing It's unbelievable with what happened in
that game. Hey, speaking of that, we're getting into this
week to week league conversation and trying to figure out,
you know what, what's really the bleep going on in
the NFL and trying to figure out who's good who's bad.

(26:42):
The Jaguars are still a team that I can't figure out, Arnie,
and I know it's funny. I go back to about
a year ago this time when when I brought up
the Jaguars open the show, and you openly called for
me to be fired for even trying to talk Jacksonville
Jaguar football. But they start out two and them they
destroyed this new England team we just watched forty three,
destroyed him. Then they lost three or four, including a

(27:04):
game to Tennessee somewhere in that makes no offense to
uh to seaun our resident Tennessee homer. And they've been
outscored in the last two weeks by Kansas City in
Dallas seventy six to twenty one. And I think I
heard the stat tonight that it's like forty four to
ZIP in the first half that they've been outscored in
these first two games. Yes, they're an a f C
championship contender, question mark. But everyone that's pilot on Brock

(27:29):
listen to me, Brockpard October in my head, thank you
English Line, Blake Bordles, You're not gonna make a deal
for your quarterback in the middle of the season, coming
off champions not with the money that you're paying him,
right and he just re ups, So you're in a
no win situation. There's nothing you could do. He took
you to the a f C championship game, and uh
he was rewarded what the year before that or was

(27:50):
it after the after the season, after the season, after
the season, you know, for the for the contract. So
you know, you're between a rock and a hard plays.
You're you're not gonna be able to get rid of him,
You're not gonna be able to cut him, You're not
gonna be able to trade him, and you're not gonna
be able to bring in another quarterback to take his spot.
So you're gonna have to live and die with Blake Bortles. Yeah,
I see some people, Oh go get Eli going so well,

(28:11):
oh go get trying to make a deal with Denver
to get keen him and send them Bordles. Okay, Well,
while their contracts might be similar, I mean, come on,
I mean, I don't really necessarily know if that's an
upgrade right now, and it's just it's hard to make
sense of a guy who looked as good Arnie as
Bordles did in that win over New England. To see
how awful they've suddenly become in the span of just

(28:32):
a two weeks. But again, they go out next week
and they play the Texans and it's quite possible that
they could end up beating them thirty three to fifteen
or something crazy like that. That's this league. We make
no sense. Jacksonville fans are yelling at the radio right now,
but what we are having a little bit of an
injury problem. We don't have our running back. You may
have heard of him, you know, Leton Ford Eddie does.

(28:53):
He is pretty good. We you know, kind of could
use him. So I can see that going on a
little bit. No, I understand in that, But I mean,
it's not forty points man. I I don't care who
you have it running back. That's on your defense, that's
not necessarily on your offense. I mean t J. Yelden
is averaging six yards per carrying five yards per carrying
his last couple of games. But when you're down forty

(29:15):
to zip in the last two games in the first
half on it, what good does a running game do?
You gotta probs to get back in that game. Well,
but it also sets the pace, allows you to keep
you know, your defense off the field. You know that,
and you know it gets points on the board and
puts pressure on the other team, uh to come back out.
I mean really, Uh, sometimes a good defense is having
a better offense, like they know in Kansas City. Well, um,

(29:38):
I will say this much. I I don't disagree with
you one I owed to that for Nets a difference maker.
I don't think he's the ultimate difference maker right now
in Jacksonville. I really don't. I understand that he's hurt.
I understand that he can make a difference for you.
But dude, when you're down like that, you can talk
about setting a tone, you can talk about doing things,
but it's just it's missing now. In addition to it.

(30:00):
By that, I mean the attitude of this sea. It
gets the team by Dallas that was struggling, just left
for dead and couldn't score to get out of their way.
And we've already had Jason Garrett fired for crying out loud.
I did have one team though, that I'm very perplexed by.
And I think this is gonna be number one. And
are are they good? Or are they bad? Conversation next hour, Arnie,
But what do we make of Baltimore who gets beat

(30:22):
twelve to nine last week in Cleveland and arguably, arguably
what was the ugliest game winning field goal any of
us have ever seen. They then go out and destroy
the Titans twenty one to zip and register eleven sacks.
Today with one of the highest paid left tackles in
the game, the Ravens register eleven sacks. Good luck trying
to make sense of that. NFC North in general, right, Well,

(30:45):
it's not like the Titans are offensive juggernauts, you know
what I'm saying that. You know, if you take a
look at their last couple and first of all, they
had the thirteen twelve game with the Bills, so you know,
it's not like they're going ahead and putting up a
lot of points on the board. They had in sixth
game with the Jaguars, So they're not an offensive jugger
not you could expect a little scoring games when it

(31:05):
comes to them. We said twelve game against the Bills,
I thought you were talking about the Ravens. I was like,
aren't they put up forty seven points? But you're saying
with the Titans right now, and and to defend Tennessee.
I don't think Mario is I was just about to
say what happened to him? Remember, he was just all
this young quarterback crop at Marcus Mariott. Oh my goodness, hug,
this guy is this guy is about two years away

(31:27):
from not even being a starting quarterback anymore. And then
we have Washington, who looked completely in ft in the
Drew Breese game on Monday night. I'm pretty sure there
were a couple of other players on the field, but
judging by the broadcast, there was only one. And honestly, Arnie,
I have no problem with that though. It was the
hookiest thing ever when they handed him a certificate for
breaking the NFL path I I know that the internet

(31:48):
has been blasting that for the better part of the
last what six days. I still can't get over that.
The first thing they do is given the game ball
and give them the certificate. But in that game, on
the other side of it, Washington is destroyed, humiliated, absolutely ridiculous.
And then they go out and beat Carolina today. I mean, what,
what in the world is going on? How can you

(32:08):
make sense of teams that get destroyed in one week,
come back and do the destroying the following week, teams
that started out two and oh and suddenly are getting
smoked forty zip at one point, and then teams that
can't even put three touchdowns on the board suddenly exploding
like we saw. And I don't know Dallas today, Arnie,
how do people ever make money gambling on this League? One?
Carolina has no rushing game whatsoever. I expected so much

(32:31):
more to Christian McCaffrey, I mean, geez, where's the running
game with them? To Cam Newton has to be a
lot more consistent than he is, and he can't put
it all on him. But you know, I watched a
lot of that game, and and you know, he made
his share of mistakes. Plus he got off to a
real soul start. They only had six points in the
first half, and they got behind the eight ball when

(32:52):
it was seventeen the three. So excuse, excuse me, seventeen
the six. So he's got to be a lot more consistent,
not like Carolina get behind the eight ball like that
wild day. The Patriots win, of course, in this crazy
finale to the week six Sunday, knocking off the Chiefs
forty three to forty on Stephen Gottkowski's game winning field goal.

(33:12):
This season, there have been three games where both teams
have scored forty or more points. Three games already ineen
where both teams have scored forty or more points. From
two thousand fourteen to two thousand seventeen, Arnie, there were
only two, so the offenses don't blowed up in the NFL.
We'll talk about that and much much more, including your tweets.

(33:33):
I have completely ignored you. Annie has as well for
the first forty minutes of the show. Let's get after him. Next,
it's Arnie and Plank on a Fox Sports Sunday coming
to your life from the guy called Fox Sports Radio Studios.
We have a full day of NFL Action recap coming
up next hour. Though Arnie was live on the air
during some exciting actually, I guess there really wasn't too
much excitement by the time you hit the air last night,

(33:54):
but a lot of top ten upsets. Well, the IWA
State West Virginia game right it was coming down to
the wire late. By the way, there's nothing better than
watching your team on replay and watching the highlights after
they win a big game, exciting game. It's like having uh,
you know, stuffing in turkey after Thanksgiving in the leftovers.
Nothing better than watching the highlights after your team wins.

(34:16):
When do you get to do that? When do I
get to do? Wow? Who could you taking the shot
at my team? Bike that? Well? I mean, you've got
eighteen teams. I was like, well, Arizona loss this weekend
and the Giants losses? Are you talking about the Dolphins?
About Dolphins? I know, I know, I'm not talking about
any of your teams. Matter of fact, if you will
Twitter people are calling you out, but you're ignoring it.

(34:36):
I see. Well, I mean again, I don't see why
there's any need to talk about a team that's irrelevant
right now? This Pike know that his faders are tanking
checking in from Vegas. Dude, that's some creed you you
replace the R with the F. Oh my gosh, dude,
get this guy a job on the network. Faders creativity

(34:57):
on the high Please, where's the one that says is
Chris gonna bring up his Raiders or he's going to
ignore it the whole night? You know, I actually have
a plan for this show, Arnie, And there's a list
of tweets that I was going to get to here.
But if you want to implode it and ruin this
whole segment by talking about the worst thing going on, Yeah, like,

(35:17):
like Bill said, one of you guys going to discuss
the pathetic performance of the Raiders today. What happened? Well, well, Bill,
they lost, So I don't really know how much more
you want to go into this. I have never seen
a situation where every single move has backfired. I mean again,

(35:38):
I'll never forget the excitement, Arnie of two years ago
when this team made the playoffs for the first time
in what like ten years, and they made the playoffs
and Derek Carr gets hurt, and they've been seven and
seventeen since, and and now they're talking rebuild. We're not

(35:59):
even in two full years away from Derek Carr being
an m VP candidate and the Raiders on the uptick. Now,
let's see, let's just just real quick. They traded their
pass rush star Khalil Mack, and he suddenly turned the
Bears into a contender. Well, I mean again, the Bears
have a good supporting cast defensively around him offensively, but still,

(36:22):
I mean, you get two first round picks that, I mean,
I don't know what the way things are going for
the Bears, is that even gonna be a top twenty
pick right now? So you get and guess what the
Raiders can't do, Arnie. Guess what they can't do defensively?
They can't rush the passer. So what do you do?
You trade your best pass rusher, trade peer. You know
what else they can't do, Arnie? They can't kick a
field goal and they can't punt. Do you know why

(36:44):
they can't do that? Because they they cut their kicker
and they cut their punter before the season started. Now,
the whole Marquette King thing. Obviously he got cut by
Denver as well too, But whatever, I guess we got
an important question to ask you, Chris Plank. Well, I mean,
but you can go. Well, it's about the Raiders. We
want to know in two years when they moved to

(37:04):
Las Vegas, are you gonna be opting out as as
as well as as your favorite team, because when a
team moves from one city to the next, that is
that that's that window of opportunity for you to bail
on that team and join something else. Yeah, no, no, no,
I realized I joked about it last week and as
soon as it came out of my mouth, I realized

(37:24):
I can't quit him. I mean, it's like it's a
really bad relationship right now. They've cheated on me. They
told me that they're gonna quit cheating, but yet, you know,
I'll happen to check their Facebook profile stuff. I mean,
I just can't do it right now. Are some other
guys stuff. I I don't get this. I don't understand
what's going on. I don't know how you can pay
a guy a hundred million dollars and honestly, the money

(37:46):
doesn't really matter to me to basically come in and
try to take that next step with arguably, I mean
a decent roster, a decent roster. I'm not trying to
tell you they were Patriot level or hell even chief
about the the Raiders before John Gruten took over. And
now now he's basically anything that has been built. He's

(38:06):
taking this little pick axe and he's just chopping it down.
And they want to take no. I mean, he's off.
I mean, you can have him. They want to trade
a couple of guys off the team. It's so funny.
Whenever Jay Glazer reported that today, I kind of laughed
a little bit because I was like, yeah, trade those
two guys, keep Khalil Mack, go back to Chicago and
say here, we want Khalil Mack back. Because Cooper hasn't
done anything consistently since he was drafted by the Raiders,

(38:29):
might be their fault. And Karl Joseph, for goodness sakes,
the dude shorter than I am, so I don't know
how he's gonna end up being an NFL safety. So
it's really hard right now for everyone who wants to say, hey,
what about the Raiders? What about this? It sucks because
you basically took a roster that was in position to
compete and you just absolutely stripped it away. Derek Carr's broke.

(38:51):
I don't know if he can be fixed. I was
thinking to myself, huh, I want I wonder if maybe
the Jaguars would want Car for a couple of first
round picks. He's two years away from not being a
starting quarterback anymore and being a back NFL too. He
might be one game MR. Two years ago he was
gonna be the m v P. Well, I wasn't alone
on that one, Arnie said, I act like I was

(39:11):
spitting silver and black love back then everyone was. But
here's the deal. I'm convinced that the goal in Oakland
right now is to get Derek Carr hurt. That's the
only thing I'm saying that they're doing good right now.
That's the only thing they're doing good right now. There.
I just I can't even get started with their first
round pick, their cornerback that everyone talks about in camp,
Gary on Connelly. Oh wait till he gets going. He's

(39:33):
losing reps to Dominique Rogers Cremarty. Yes, the same dude
that couldn't remember all his kids names. He's a Raider
now and he's playing more than their first round pick
last year. Arnie, What in the hell is going on?
How can you pay that much money for a coach
only to have him come in and have every It's
like the mush. So you're winning all these bets to
the track and all of a sudden one of your
buddies shows up and you start losing every bet. That's

(39:55):
what John I was thinking that John Grund saying to himself,
you know what, one year, Ted Mill, I'll just take that.
We'll call you that are wrapping up now. I don't
think I go through nine more years of this. I
think I want to get my TV gig back. Please
the game show I can host or something. If he's
a million dollars, Thank you. I hope you're right, all right. See,

(40:18):
that's that's why I don't want to talk about this.
You people want to troll away. This is why it
ruins the whole show. It's ruined my energy, it's ruining
my mojo. Now I have to rally college football when
we come back. It's Arnie and Plank on a very
busy Sunday night. We have just scratched the surface on
Week six of the NFL season. We'll take you through
the locker rooms and give you the numbers from the spreads.

(40:38):
Next with Arnie and Plank on Fox Sports Radio. Our
to Arnie and Plank from the guy go Fox Sports
Radio Studios. Fifteen minutes could save you or more on
car Insurance vision dot com for a free rate quote.
See what happens on Tearing Off. I love I love
the tweet from Jason that says, I don't know who

(40:58):
that guy was on your show right now, but I
had to change the chattel. I couldn't listening to try
a bit try, did you spell that right. Diet tribe,
diet tribe, thank you anymore. As easy it is for
me to read as good as Mac was, he wouldn't
be helping the Raiders enough to win. They suck. They

(41:20):
owed him money. Oh boy, pretty creative stuff. They suck.
They owed him money. Um, that guy has been his
co host for three years. You see, I gotta what.
You can't do this to me? Maybe longer than three years,
maybe four or five years. What's wrong with you? We
can do with the show five years at least you
you're all right? So Jason, uh for the lack of respect,

(41:42):
you are blocked. No, but this is your fault. This
is your I told you don't bring up the Raiders.
And it's not a dumb diet tribe. It's absolutely on point.
Everything that has happened is wrong. The Raiders are a
Marquis franchise in the NFL. That's a period in a discussion.
Just because I don't know Mark Kief programs in baseball
like the Mets still suck, doesn't mean that the Raiders

(42:03):
are going to accept losing. Just because Markis franchises like
the Giant stink doesn't mean that a team that was
right I mean, if these are two fan bases, let's
just use the New York Giants and the Oakland Raiders
as an example. Aren't he the playoff teams a couple
of years ago? What the hell happened? And the Dallas
Cowboys too. You can throw them and they're also love
the Dallas Cowboys. At least put forty points on the board.

(42:24):
I like this one from Paul who said please more
Raiders talk signed no One, So yeah, I would agree
with that one. I, hey, this is your fault. I
wanted to talk about other tweets. You're the one that
had to bring it up, not amasically. At least we
had a good Sunday night game. I'm disappointed though, that
Kansas City didn't pull it on out. I thought they
had this, and uh, you know, it still shows you

(42:46):
that at what point did you think they had it?
Just out of curiosity? When did I think they had it?
When Tyreek Hills scored, I said, Okay, they're gonna go
and stop the Patriots and maybe win this thing in
overtime or even regulation. I was surprised that the Patriots
were able to get back down field and kick that
field goal. I thought the Chiefs. We're gonna put more
pressure and like I said, that defense, they've got to

(43:08):
do something about it, because you're not gonna win a
super Bowl when you're giving up that many points. And
you know all the Patriots did well, you know what,
when it comes to playoff time, I wouldn't be worrying
about the Patriots. I'd worry about that Kansas City defense.
They're they're just putrid. Remember now, the Patriots don't have
an offense nearly as good as Kansas City and little
how many points they put up there. I can't wait

(43:29):
to see next week when the Patriots go on the
road to Chicago after Chicago lost to Miammy, and see
how that game turns out. Well, here's what I Here's
what I don't get is how can you get better defensively? Now?
Eric Barry is gonna be back for Kansas City. That's
gonna help them out a little bit. But I mean,
do you look in the trade market. I don't mean
so much in personnel. I just think you do things

(43:50):
different Like Kansas City. I'm not so looking and I'm
not the defensive specialist. Chris, that's more your thing. But
I've got to start questioning that three man roush, you know,
even though it turned out find one time because Brady
fumbled on one of them because another guy came in.
Lady at like a million years to throw that. But
in the NFL, if you don't put pressure on the quarterback,
you're in big, big trouble. And having a three man rush,

(44:12):
I don't think it's going to cut it. I think
you gotta find a better way to get to the quarterback. Well,
let's we we got so much still to get to.
I did have this because I did feel bad. I
did feel bad about saying when do you get to
celebrate your team's victories last hour? So so I did
drum this up for you Annie. For this segment, here
is Jason Sanders forty seven yards, the kickers up, The

(44:34):
kick is oh no, Jason Sanders is one a day
for the Miami Dolphins. Unbelievable. We're off the roller coaster.
I can't take anymore. That's a pretty good call though.
This was a game where both teams had the game one.

(44:54):
The Bears were up by eight points and it just
scored a touchdown. It was taken a way because of
a penalty. A matter of fact, they might have done
it twice, I don't remember off the top of my head.
And the next play the Dolphins intercept it. That's when
it was. They come down score and get the two pointer,
and next thing you know, we're tied at twenty one
instead of uh, Chicago up by fifteen. But then even

(45:16):
Chicago came down and scored another touchdown to go up one.
And that's when their defense, believe it or not, let
him down. Kalomac didn't have a good game. I don't
think you had any sacks in this one, So I
gotta give the Dolphins credit. Um to fumble on the
half yard line. That just ripped my heart out. I go,
how do you fumble on the half yard line when
nobody touched you? It goes to show you I'd rather

(45:37):
have a tired Frank Gore running than a healthy Drake
or anybody else out there. Uh So, funnily like, that
one was unbelievable and bad play by Chicago by running
on third down and setting up a fifty three yard
field goal. You gotta get closer. You can't just be
settling for that. That's what they did. He missed it
and Dolphins were lucky enough to get the last second

(45:58):
field goal. Chris, I you what you're saying, and and
and at the core of it, I agree with you.
But man, Mitch Trobinsky made some awful decisions that really
could have ended up costing Chicago even more. He threw
across his body twice. One time he should have been
picked off when the next place came down for a touchdown.
Is that what you're talking about? Exactly? So, so my

(46:20):
thought is, yeah, I agree with you a hundred percent.
You try to throw the football and go after it.
But Arnie, I don't know if Matt Naggi has as
much confidence in Mitchell Trobinsky as you might in that
situation right there, based on what he had done throughout
that game. But maybe throw a little shuffle paths or
something like that, a little screen. Uh, maybe you decide
not to head it off and roll out and see

(46:41):
if you could pick up maybe three or four yards yourself.
You gotta do something instead of settling for a fifty
three yard or on the road. Uh. And he pushed
it just right. Yeah, And you know what, here's what's crazy. Um,
I didn't realize because I was we got the end
of that game. And then because of this stupid I
was that I switched back over to the Red Zone

(47:02):
channel at that point. Oh my gosh. So if you're
in a market that only had the early game on Fox,
you got that first missed field goal by Chicago and overtime.
Then as soon as they missed the field goal, they
cut back to the studio show and they never went
back to the game. And I understand, I understand. The
rule is you you if you only get one game

(47:23):
in the market, is how it was described to me
on one channel, then they have to be off the
air with games by the time the other game starts
on the other network. Still, though, Arnie, why can't common
sense come into play on why do we even still
have those rules? How about if we went back twenty
years ago when we had the even less than that,
where we had the blackout rule. Could you imagine if
that ridiculous, absolutely ridiculous without rule. Yeah, see if that

(47:48):
would fly nowadays. By the way, speaking of the blackout rule,
just to show you antiquated TV rules, I I broadcast
from Norman, Oklahoma. We are considered in the home market
of four Major League Baseball teams, so we have essentially
four teams that if they're not being carried by their
regional network, are blacked out. So I mean, you want
to talk about you want to talk about antiquated blackout rules.

(48:10):
Look at what's going on. But I digress. I didn't realize.
I mean again, I know, as you like to say,
give me, but I didn't realize that was a frety
seven yard or to win the game on he by
no stretch of the imagination was that a gimme for
the a Dolphins kicker. And if I'm not mistaken, uh,
it's not as if everything had been peachy for him

(48:31):
so far this season either for Sanders, even though he
was three for three on the game. I mean, oh yeah,
he's had a good season. He came in later in
the season with him. But oh my goodness, what what
an incredible kick for him nearly at that fifty yard
range to end up winning the game. That's clutch. No,
it was, it was absolutely cluch. They were lucky to
even get it that far. They picked up a big
first down um by by Drake who from the ball

(48:56):
um And by the way, what do you think about
broadcast Swidler? Not too bad? Eight forty four three eight
three touchdowns um not too bad at all. He hung
in there, he gave the Dolphins a chance to win,
didn't create too many mistakes out there. I I gotta
give him a B plus for his efforts. You know. Uh,
it's kind of crazy in this quarterback starved league that

(49:16):
the guy we make fun of the most ends up
going out and maybe having one of the best days. Sure,
he made some mistakes, but he's the He's the reason
the Dolphins won that game today. I mean that passed, Uh, gotcha,
wasn't Drake Who's It was a Keem Grant that he
caught on the big touchdown. That actually, how Wilson Wilson.
You're right, they've they've got so many different options with

(49:37):
Grant and Stills and Wilson that that was a beautifully
thrown ball and he just ends up taking it the
rest of the way. I mean, unbelievable performance from brock
Oswilder day. You know what, paint me absolutely shocked that
it ended up playing out like that. Arnie, absolutely, But
congratulations to your boys. You're back on the Super Bowl train.
Feeling good about By the way, how about Frank Gore

(49:59):
with over a hundred yards and that what is that
guy fifty um, thirty five years old and put up
over a hundred yards rushing. That's incredible. You know what,
I know, this is so many captain obvious things. I
can throw it here today, and I've talked about it
a lot. It's kind of the theme of the show tonight.
It's a week to week league. Everything we think we
knew last week, we throw out the window, and that

(50:19):
goes the same for even two weeks ago. But Arnie,
if there is one captain obvious statement we can make
when when you wonder how brock Oswiler, whenever those of
us who are constant and chronic cators of Brock October,
if you wonder how he was able to have some
success against the Chicago defense that through five games we'd
put up there with the monsters of the Midway a
running game. I mean, I know, it's real simple. I

(50:42):
know it sounds so captain obvious, But Arnie, when you're
able to establish the run like the Dolphins were at
times today, it opens everything up. And you're right, if
it's Frank Gore doing it, look out. I mean, that's
a good sign for that offensive line against a good
d like that. Yeah, but just still not gonna win
with a running game, you know, you've got to air
it out of course, right, yeah. I mean that's why
I was like, Okay, let's see what brock scott and

(51:03):
when they got behind, I'm like, I don't know if
this guy's got it in him, uh to lead the
Dolphins to a come from behind victory. Does he Tannehill
smiling on the sideline? I'm like, what about you're smiling about?
You're down by eight and they just scored a touchdown.
You look, and they just took it back. Really, Chicago
is going to go back and and save themselves. They
let this one slip through their fingers because with a
fifteen point lead, game over, uh, and they had a

(51:25):
penalty called on that touchdown that was taken away. Otherwise,
I think they would have had this one and they
wouldn't have looked back from a fifteen point lead. Three
hundred eighty yards passing for Brock Coswiler today three eight.
He didn't turn the ball over twice, was not sacked,
which is a big stat But you and I can
debate the importance of a running game, because I absolutely
think a running game is essential to end up making
a run in the playoffs. Yes, you need to score points,

(51:48):
but you also need to control the clock. When you
run a hundred and sixty one yards, it's not a
massive number. But when fifteen carries and a hundred and
one of those come from one guy, like they did
from Frank Gore today, I think that is paramount to
be able to consistently content. You take at Kansas City
and and you're saying, well, this team is not gonna
get to the super Bowl because of their running game. Right,
even though hunts a good running back, Um, we're not that.

(52:08):
That's not the number one option we're looking at when
it comes to the Kansas City Chiefs in the running game.
Uh no, no, no, listen, I'll tell you when he
But when he gets to the playoffs, Arnie, what do
you need? You need that running game? What you need
to do? Yes, when you get to the butt Again,
if you're gonna have a crappy defense like the Chiefs have,
if you think you're gonna win by putting twenty four
points on the board, you're sorely mistaken. Hey, when we

(52:29):
come back to the Gecko Fox Sports Radio Studios, I
do want to get into some of these tweets. Also though, uh,
you and I tried to carve out some time to
talk some college football. So what do you say we
do it next? Because, as we mentioned, Arnie was on
the air whenever the madness happened. Last night, at least
for the most part, his name started to wind down
crazy finishing the Michigan State pinn State game. What does
it all mean? Who's still alive in the four team

(52:50):
playoff chase? And will debut a new segment because again,
I know, no one else in sports talk radio is
doing stock up in stock down and no one else
no one knowing who you're or selling. But I need
some help tonight. Theme of the night is week to
week leak, So help me figure out who's good who isn't.
I know two teams who aren't. But who could we
throw into that good category based on? How about this tweet?

(53:11):
The stink of genius is Plank your brother? You both
seem to have high i Q genius of sports radio.
I would agree with that, very absolutely right. But and
then get all your tweets coming up as well too.
It's a busy night. We're recapping a pretty wild Week six,
which wrapped up with the great finish between the Patriots
and the Chiefs as Kansas City has handed its first

(53:32):
loss of the season. But let's look back on the
day that it was in college football nets with Arni
and Plank on Fox Sports Radio. Oh man, I hadn't
seen the Rae Kwon Davis video yet. We'll get into it.
Oh my gosh on Fox Sports Radio. What does it
mean when Geico says just fifteen minutes could save you
fifteen or more on car insurance? Well, I mean you
probably should have gone to geico dot com fifteen minutes ago.

(53:55):
Holy smokes, Oh my gosh, that was just who sent that?
Uh kudos to Jeff at j R. Tuttle four who
sent that into us. I mean, my goodness, I saw
that last night. Well to what you're talking about, real
quick about so ray Kwon Davis. Uh, let's see where
are we at in this game. It's uh, it's fairly late,

(54:17):
and he is on top of the pile and he
throws about a right, a left, and another right just
to the body of a Missouri Tiger player. Now he again,
he didn't I know. An Alabama fan might defended by saying, well, hey,
he didn't go for his head, But I mean he
he's worked some some cheap shots. The dudes on the ground,
he's on his back and he just hammer fist him

(54:38):
about about three or four times. Why didn't the officials
look at that? Why didn't um Missouri say hey, what's
going on and point that out? And why did Nick
Saban keep him into the game. I'm sure he's going
to pay uh into touchdowns. There was no reason to
keep him in the game. That's true. But how do

(54:59):
you miss that? I mean, I understand that crazy things
happening around the pile. They didn't miss it. The officials
turned their back on it. They didn't miss it at all.
You know, I wow, conspiracy theory coming out of Tuscaloosa. Wait,
but yeah, you have the nerve to say conspiracy theory
to me after what I sent you about the Pack
twelve officials. Well, I don't really know what's going on there,

(55:20):
to be honest with you, I mean, if I listen,
I come from the category where basically, you know, I
don't trust anything from the Pack twelve after you know,
seeing several teams and I don't have to bring up
Oklahoma going out there in two thousand and five and
not like we're all still bitter about it. But I mean,
in all seriousness, Arnie, the fact that you had someone
calling a code red essentially in the middle of a replay,

(55:43):
and I get it that he was not an officials.
That's like me calling a called red. It's like, Chris,
do you have the number of the replay officials? I've
got a question. I want to tell them that there,
you know, I want to tell them that they're wrong
and then to get away with it and then have
it go your way. For years so tasting well, but
we've were researching so far this year. He's not been

(56:06):
in this year. What about the years before that? I
don't understand that. And again it just it reeks. I'm
not sitting here and trying to tell you that there's
anything too terribly shady going on. But I will say this.
You you say it, I'll just I'll sit back and
let you fire that saladough. How great would it be

(56:28):
if I could do that? Like you know, if I
could tape record that, and I was like, I called
up and go already spanning your Fox Sports No, no, no, no,
not targeting. You guys are wrong. Let's overturn that. Keep
it going. I need Arizona the win that game that
get on and say no target egg and uh and
tape that and see what they say. I would love that.
So we had several top ten teams fall I think

(56:50):
what four total yesterday could have easily had been six
maybe seven that could have fallen yesterday, you see. F
speaking of needing some help from officials, the American Athletic
Conference hasn't even responded to complaints about two calls in
that game. Baylor had the ball in the red zone
against Texas, but the Horns were able to hold on
and Notre Dame needed a late touchdown in order to

(57:12):
beat Pitt yesterday, but it wasn't a very good day
for teams in the top ten with that set, Arnie,
which one was the most surprising to you in college
football yesterday? You know? The one I was gonna say
is the most surprising may also be the one that
we should have seen coming, um And that was the
l s U victory over Georgia. UM one why it
was the most surprising because they won by twining. They

(57:33):
man handled Georgia too. We should have seen it coming.
And I actually picked that last week when I told
you I don't want the points. I don't need the points.
The way L s US played and the way they've
played against top ten teams, how could you not love,
especially without playing at home. How could you not love
what they've done against high quality opponents? How could you
not love them against Georgia? And they did a damn

(57:53):
good job on Jake from you know, I brought this
up to the beer baron who tweets at us quite
a bit last week Eve and whenever they had lost
and everyone was down on L s U. But remember
they get Georgia and Alabama at home this year. Now,
I'm not here trying to tell you that L s
who is gonna beat Obama by twenty but with two
a little bit dinged up. I don't know how bad

(58:13):
it truly is. Nick Saban's never going to tell you,
But Arnie, they flat out pulled away, and that came
on Saturday night, and I'm with you. I guess I'm
not too terribly surprised that they won, but I'm really
blown away with how they won, the fact that they
won by twenty and the going away in that fashion.
L s U has got a great chance to end
up sliding into this four team playoff now again, Central Florida.

(58:37):
What are you talking about? Yeah, Central Florida is not
getting into the fortune period, Chris at playing show. And
by the way, you keep calling them Central Florida on
it's u c F. So I mean, come on, man,
you gotta step. We already got in trouble from the
dude from UCF for that. I listen. I want them
to have an opportunity. I want to see UCF get
a chance. They're not going to. You could have a

(58:59):
two lost amount of the SEC get in before an
undefeated uc I would rather do that too, though I
don't want Texas getting in. Also, they don't deserve it
that you know. I said this just say perhaps this
is the weakest top ten I've ever seen in all
my years of watching college football except for Alabama. Um, yeah,
it'd be hard to argue that right now. Well, especially

(59:21):
whenever most of them lost yesterday, well even Ohio State
that beat Minnesota. That Minnesota did a great job defensively
against the puck Eyes, and a matter of fact, the
Minnesota was held without any points in the second otherwise
it would have been a different game, and it was
still a one score game going to the fourth quarter
in that one, and it wasn't like Ohio State didn't
have a good stats or Haskins didn't have a good

(59:41):
game me through for what als four yards in that one?
Am I crazy for believing that Ohio State's path is
a little bit more difficult than people are making it
out to be. I'm not gonna sit here and try
to listen. I've never been more wrong on the team
than I guess I'm wrong on Notre Dame. I don't
know if I'm ready to pack it in yet, but
I still think they in the season with multiple losses.
I don't know how with that schedule, but I'm gonna

(01:00:02):
stick to it, ARNI until it doesn't happen. But suddenly
you look at Ohio State schedule and yes, Purdue hasn't
played all that well the last few weeks, sitting at
three and three, but they get Nebraska home, and Nebraska
has just been awful, breaking news, But they gotta go
to Michigan State, who just be pin State on the road.
Maryland has been better this season, and then suddenly Michigan's

(01:00:23):
a juggernaut. They don't have the rest of the way
to stop it. So you're not you're not buying in
a Michigan state after just so two of the last three,
and more difficult after you shot the s out of him.
Give me the Nebraska game like that has anything to
do with it. No, no, I said, you see, this
is why you don't. We're not brothers from another ni

(01:00:46):
You never listened to me. Maybe we are, but no,
outside of for New Nebraska, I think that's more difficult.
And let me tell you this much too. And I'm
not just saying this because you're here. I'm not just
saying this because I know you're a Pack twelve homer.
But don't count out Oregon. I don't know if they're
any good. I don't know how great they might be.
But I I love these statistical gurus. And there's a

(01:01:08):
there's a playoff predictor that's out right now with the
percentage chance of sending a team to the playoffs, and
they have the Pack twelve right now at a five
percent chance to get a team in the four team playoff.
By the way, the SEC is at nine percent to
get a team in the playoff, Big Ten at eighty
eight percent, a c C at eighty three percent. Though
as soon as Clemson loses that a c C chance
is gonna go down quite a bit. Big twelve at

(01:01:30):
twenty five percent and then the Pack twelve out there
at five times. As you get two teams in the
SEC in there percent, which is better than the Big
twelve and the pack twelves chances of just getting one
one tough game left. That's the game on the road
against Hutah State. I don't give much into the Civil War,
even though sometimes Oregon States plays them tough. Um, the

(01:01:50):
only tough game left is against Hutah on the road.
You don't think it's tough this weekend going to Washington State.
You don't think that might be a little bit more
of a challenge for him. Okay, well, I was gonna
say maybe my Arizona while well, what if they finish
eleven and one and then they went in the conference
title game against the USC or whatever. You're gonna have
a twelve and one team whose only loss is I

(01:02:10):
don't want to say it's controversial, but there's lost to Stanford,
and what had they had won exactly? So I can't
help but wonder. And again we're talking a lot here.
We use these in college football cities all across the country.
These run the table scenarios about oh what happens if this,
and if X and Y happened, then who gets in?
But Arnie, I'm not ready to diminish the chances of

(01:02:31):
an Oregon making a run in this thing. Now. I'm
telling you what. The Big Ten is gonna come down
to either Michigan or Ohio State. I don't think that's
anything comes on the sexy team. I don't think the
playoff committee would want Oregon and there. I think they'd
be happier with two SEC teams before allowing a Pack
twelve team in there. Yeah, and with that said, right now,
if you go a little bit deeper, they still have

(01:02:52):
Washington with the best chances at five and two twelve
teams to make the playoffs. Of course, that percentage is
only at four per it, but there are let's see, one, two, three,
four SEC teams that have a better percentage chance than
one Pack twelve team. And the only Big twelve team
that is even listed in this right now is Oklahoma,
who's coming off a tough loss but did change their

(01:03:13):
defensive coordinator. I found this number interesting, by the way,
and we'll wrap it up before the Sager gets in here,
and then we'll get back to Week six of college
football after the break, Arnie. They have Clemson with the
best odds according to Seth Walter. This is from ESPN
Analytics and their playoff predictor. To give proper credit, they
have Clemson with the best odds to make the playoffs
at eight two right now at six and oh the

(01:03:33):
second best odds are Bama at eight. But Bama has
the best odds to win the playoffs. They might not
have the best odds to make them, but they have
the best odds to win the title at thirty three
percent right now. So do with those numbers as you make.
Because of the conference that they played in, the SEC
a lot harder, absolutely, so there's a you know, not
as much margin forrer Fraul Obama. Boy, what are we

(01:03:55):
gonna do if you end up with a couple of
one lost teams from the SEC and then Notre Dame
is sitting there with either a loss or undefeated right now.
I don't know if Notre Dame can afford a loss
with what they have down the stretch, but I think
it's gonna be Alabama, Georgia, Notre Dame, Clubson will choke
somewhere along the line there we can only all could
you imagine? Well, there's is there any possibility that Michigan

(01:04:18):
and Ohio stay get it? I guess not that the
play in the end of the year. That's not gonna happen. Well, um,
I do have a scenario. Can I lay it out
for you after about that? Well, I don't think the
committee would ever let that happen, but I have a
scenario where we could have come pretty damn close. But
before we do that, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls,
Steve to Seger is in the house. With everything going

(01:04:39):
on in the world of sports. What's going on, Steve.
We'll get to the Red Sox and Patriots victories. But
you talk in college football, Alabama is a near unanimous
number one in the new polls out today. In Ohio
State is up to number two, l s U up
to number five, Michigan number six, and ap Texas seven.
Georgia fell to number eight. And you mentioned Oregon their
right number twelve, just the one loss. If they had

(01:05:01):
taken a knee late in their game against they might
have one hand they've been six and they would be
six and oh West Virginia lost there down to thirteen,
Kentucky fourteen, Washington fifteen, Penn State down to eighteen. Iowa
is ranked number nineteen, and then there's Wisconsin twenty three,
Michigan State twenty four, Washington State debuts at twenty five.

(01:05:21):
You mentioned earlier the London loss for the Raiders. It
was twenty seven three to Seattle, by the way, a
London record attendance of near eighty five thousand for that
game at Wembley Stadium. We we want to grow the
game and send our best, and we've sent the crazy
people there. Wow. However, Chris, one good thing. It doesn't
help at all for this year. Your your emotion is

(01:05:45):
felt from earlier talking about this team this year. But
we all assume they're gonna have a top five draft
pick for next year, right In addition, they're getting that
first rounder from the Bankers traded. However, most of the
top five draft prospects for next year our pass rushers.
What if the Raiders wind up with at Oliver University
of Houston, or what Nick Bosa from Ohio State becomes

(01:06:06):
a Raider. All is not lost here. I don't know
where they're actually gonna be playing next year, and I'm
not sure they do. What's up San Diego, Yeah exactly,
that's see if cal is amenable to sharing for a
season or something. But and then they're going to Vegas
in a couple of years. So I'm just saying. And
one note, I was at the USC Colorado game last

(01:06:28):
night and there's a star pass rusher for the Trojans,
Porter Gustin. He got hurt late in the game. Out
for the year with a broken ankle. This is a
guy who has seven sacks. The rest of the USC
team combined has six. Porter Gustin on the field with
his hair flying out of the helmet reminds me of
Clay Matthews, except Clay Matthews never played this much at USC.
So bad news from the Trojans tonight. Great news if

(01:06:50):
you're a Boston sports fan. This evening, David Price started
a playoff game, and you won Boston seven five over
Houston to even up the a L Championship series. At
a game of pe Jackie Bradley and early three run
double off, the losing pitcher Garrett Cole, and the Patriots
gave up forty points and still one beating previously undefeated
Kansas City forty three forty on a short field goal

(01:07:11):
on the final play. Stephen Guskowski five for five on
field goals, including from forty eight and fifty yards out.
So the only undefeated team left in the NFL is
the l A Rams Ladies and Gentlemen. In twenty five
degree weather, they beat Denver twenty Yes, that was a
road game. Todd Gurley two d eight yards rushing and

(01:07:32):
two touchdowns. Meanwhile, case keenum the X RAYM three twenty
two yards passing Dallas over Jacksonville for seven, Baltimore one
twenty one nothing at Tennessee, sacking Marcus Mariot eleven times,
Pittsburgh with a late touchdown, one at Cincinnati Miami, the
overtime win against Chicago, Houston and the Chargers with victories
NASCAR win for Eric el Merola and the NBA regular

(01:07:54):
season starts Tuesday night with two games. Most teams will
open on Wednesday. In Los Angeles. FS one will have
the Dodger Stadium games in the NLCS Monday Tuesday Wednesday.
Then in l A, all eyes on TV for Lebron's debut.
Lakers don't open until Thursday. How convenient and then maybe

(01:08:15):
if the Rams were playing the Chiefs today and they
were both five and oh, actually they are playing each
other in a Monday night game next month in l A.
Well yeah, but I want to both being undefeated. If
the Dodgers were playing a playoff game tonight or Lebron wait,
and Lebron was making his debut in the regular season,
which would be the highest one. Well, because in l

(01:08:36):
A it's Lakers Dodgers and then everybody else. Everybody else
is fighting for scraps. After those two Lebrons, now you
develop fans. I mean, the Chargers are going to be
very exciting I think this year and get Bosa back, etcetera, etcetera.
But you are fighting for scraps. There is no denying that.
It's it's a loaded town. I'll say this much. I

(01:08:59):
would love to see Arnie put a pull up on
this at stink Genius one on Twitter. Nobody does that
either on a show I know, right, It's very unique.
Only we do it thanks to Sega. What does it
mean when Geico says just fifteen minutes could save you
or more on car insurance, Well, I mean you probably
should have gone to Geo dot com fifteen minutes ago.
I'll make this quick. There's a lot of good stuff
coming in on Twitter. I didn't realize you guys, Doug

(01:09:21):
the college football talk so much. I haven't gotten my
get back to the NFL tweet yet. But I like
this from Colorado guy who says the Big Ten is
looking interesting, the East is wide open. Wisconsin needs to
lose another so Iowa can take it. Boy, could you
imagine I won the Big Ten championship? The million dollar
man is guaranteeing that Texas will make the playoffs. I

(01:09:42):
kind of like this from David, who says, hope that
doesn't happen. Who cares if you get in trouble. If
they want, you can call them the Central Florida Nights.
It doesn't matter. Hashtag name means nothing. I said, what
Central Florida? Right? Yeah? Oh no, you're You're not incorrect
in their actual name, but they brand themselves as you see.

(01:10:05):
F kind of like, for instance, you should be just
happy that we're mentioning you. I don't care what we
called you called you by the right now wow wow,
Now if we were doing an over under on wows, Bobo,
would you add my wows to the total for Arnie. Okay,
just wow, that is that is cold blooded? All right?
So let me lay out this scenario here real quick
before we get back to the NFL. Aren'tie. Let's let's

(01:10:28):
say hypothetically, well, we'll use the SEC first. Georgia runs
the table the rest of the way, Alabama finishes undefeated.
The two teams playing the SEC championship game, and Georgia
beats him, they both have to go, right, I would
think so, since Georgia won you said the east half,
Alabama wins the west half. And if it's a close game,

(01:10:51):
which hopefully it is, and Georgia doesn't take too much
of a hit for that two which I don't think
they will be that so early. Uh yeah, I would
think they would take of teams Georgia and Alabama. Yeah,
and and also they won't take much of hit because
they got demolished by Auburn during the regular season last year,
came back and beat him in the SEC title game
and got in. Okay, well, what happens in the SEC

(01:11:12):
in the Big Ten Conference championship If Ohio State is
rolling undefeated in their final game of the season, they
get beat by one point against Michigan in a thrilling game,
and then Michigan goes on to win the Big Ten
Championship over either Northwestern or Wisconsin or garbage Wisconsin team.
By the way, Wisconsin not a good look. Ernie must

(01:11:36):
have had money on You're gonna win a game completely?
What seven passes enough? What would you do? Then you
have an Ohio State team that finishes eleven and one,
has an incredible game against Michigan, and Michigan team that
will finish twelve and one and has the conference championship.
Is this a year where you think the selection committee
will come out and say conference championships matter? What would

(01:11:58):
you do? What would you do that? Could you imagine
if they took Ohio State, Michigan, Georgia, Alabama and left
Notre Dame outstanding on the sudeline? Which, oh it would happen?
If Notre Dame came up with one lass, they would
be screaming bloody murder if it came at the end
of the year. I don't think the selection committee would
have the guts to do that. I don't. I also
will say this too, and again, I think anyone that
listens to this show knows I might be a little

(01:12:20):
bit of a homer from my Oklahoma sooner. It's just
just just just maybe maybe maybe. But what helped Oklahoma
last year more than anything else was they had to
win over Ohio State, right, they had to win over
Ohio State and that was huge and that might have
been what got them into the playoffs. Arnie, there's no
one that really has that massive nonconference win right now,

(01:12:41):
and that in that other receiving But well, but L
Shoes got the path laid out for them. If L
A Shoe wins out the rest of the way, they're in.
So you know, they to me, I'm talking about the
teams that might need some help. If it's Texas, if
it's Oklahoma, if it I mean, I don't know. I
guess hypothetically you could say, all these teams are you
just told people. If Georgia wins all the rest of

(01:13:02):
the games they've got thrown, they're gonna go in. If
the Day wins all their games, they're gonna go in.
Um not everything that wins all their games are gonna
go on in. And Alabama wins all their games, they're
gonna go on in. Yeah, Well, there's process of elimination there,
and a lot of those two. I mean, if Alabama
wins the rest of their games, they would have probably
beaten a Georgia team in the SEC title game or

(01:13:24):
have a couple of wins over l s U, so
that would have eliminated one of those games. You have
a lot of teams right now maybe the better way
to put it on in my opinion, it could be
damn wrong. I don't know, but in my opinion, you
have a lot of teams that control their own destiny.
How about this, there's a lot of people that think
if Oklahoma wins out there in do you feel that
automatically because I sure don't, depending on what could happen

(01:13:45):
around him. So not not from that bolone conference. You
can't say that anymore. You represented I know if you
were representing the biggest thing you could, But you saying
that from a pack twelve per play this log Horns
is number seven in the country waiting your conference, and
we all know they're not that good. Stop yeah what

(01:14:05):
they do against your powerful USC Trojans? Aren't us USC?
Please that every team in the pack trove was lousy?
It seems like, yeah, well, then don't be talking gas
against him. If I thought Arizona was gonna win their half.
People were picking Arizona people. All right, when we come
back to the Geico Fox Sports Radio studios, let's get
back to the NFL. Disager will help us out. We

(01:14:27):
got a lot of recaps to get you from Saturday
night football. We'll take a trip through the NFL locker rooms,
post game sound highlights as well. It's already in Plank
on Fox Sports Radio. Great news. There's a quick way
you could save money. Switch to Geico. Go to Geico
dot com and in fifteen minutes you could say fifteen
percent or more on car insurance. By the way, Steve
Disager joins us. Uh second story, I somehow had missed today.

(01:14:50):
Maybe it was because of my utter disbelief of how
bad the Raiders have gotten. But it's pretty say I
should have seen this coming with the Chargers game last week,
but it, um boy, that's a That penalty on a
manual seing interest today was interesting. He landed at the
one yard line on a catch and then rolled into
the end zone, thought he'd scored and then just gave

(01:15:11):
it to the defensive player on sports Medalife conduct flag. Fine,
they'll penalize on the kickoff under review, No ball is
going to be placed at the one. Oh wait, you
got a fifteen yard penalty ball placed at the sixteen. Now,
what happened? He gave he was talking smack at the one.
I thought in the end zone. He thought he had scored.
And it turns out no touchdown. So they assessed the

(01:15:31):
penalty from the one yard line back and it was
no touchdown. They settled for a field goal on the
drive and Denver lost by three and the Rams are
still undefeated. And did he come out and say that
the NFL is soft? Right? What else? Well? One college note,
because we had the Call of the Night last night.

(01:15:52):
You were mentioning games the Colorado announcer Mark Johnson last night.
There's a receiver that's one of the best in the
country easily. I've seen them on top ten Heisman lists
this past week. Laviska Chanault is his name for Colorado.
Over fifty catches in five games to start the season.
So here was at usc last night a play with
Laviska Chanels off side. That was perfect that that was

(01:16:24):
very good. Anyway, we've got NFL news to get to
because there's still one more game of course tomorrow. It's
at green Bay, the Packers hosting San Francisco. Aaron Rodgers,
for what it's worth the last decade has the best
passer ratings against the NFC West one oh five. That's
the matchup Steelers today. With the win at Cincinnati, James
Conner only only nineteen carries, had a hundred eleven yards,

(01:16:47):
two more touchdowns that seven rushing touchdowns in six games.
The only Steelers that have started a season like that
on the ground Jerome Bettis and Franco Harris. So are
you gonna pull him from the starting line? Not in
this lifetime? Sure to see how that works out anyway.
That's another Marvin Lewis lost to the rival Steelers. So
in his sixteen seasons, the home record, and this includes

(01:17:10):
a couple of playoff losses at home to Pittsburgh, the
home record is two and sixteen for Martin Lewis against
the Steelers. Don't fire him. That's good, that's right. It's
kind of like the Charlie Weiss thing. Just come close
and lose and you'll get an extension. You'll become the
richest man in coaching by not winning. Overall, the Bengals
head to head have lost ten of their last eleven

(01:17:30):
matchups against the Steelers. Meanwhile, Chargers Chiefs, you were talking
about Kansas City. They may still win this West and
they do get to play the Chargers again later this year. Remember,
and they've beaten the Chargers head to head nine times
in a row, including the opener this year when they
ran wild. Of course, since that game, the Chargers have
won four of their last five. They want at Cleveland

(01:17:51):
fourteen today. Did you see the Baker Mayfield injury with
the ankle on the sidelines? NFL please please take note
of this. Baker Mayfield on the thing that we're yeah, exactly.
Mayfield was sacked five times today. So he was rushing
to the sideline on one play being chased, and his
first step out of bounds was not on the grass

(01:18:12):
firm footing. Instead, it was on that then orange thing
that they put next to the yard marker. So if
the chain crew goes flying, they know where to reset
the chains. That should yeah, something sticky something. Instead he
slips on it and turns an ankle and his limping idea,
I'm gonna invent something and make money. NFL, you cannot

(01:18:33):
have equipment around the field that does this. Two players
that's like unpadded walls of the goodness. Anyway, the Vikings
Adam Feeling eleven catches another hundred yard game a TV
in the Minnesota win over Arizona. So that's six straight
hundred yard receiving games. First player in the NFL since
nineteen sixty one to start a season with a streak

(01:18:55):
that long. But the fact that he has almost sixty
catches through six games to start a see and that
has never happened before. He's up to fifty eight already
this season. Larry Fitzgerald was the visiting on the visiting
side in this game, and of course that's his hometown.
He's from Minnesota, and his dad, of course a long
time sports media member in Minnesota. Larry Fitzgerald o and

(01:19:16):
six at Minnesota in career visits there and any and
how many catches. The numbers are really low too, with
thirty nine yards receiving today, which is kind of par
for the course for his season and the Cardinals offense.
But the Cardinals is a franchise have not won in
Minnesota in over forty years. Wow, not sincerity. St. Louis Cardinals.
They've lost their last ten visits. You mentioned Miami with

(01:19:39):
the overtime wins, so we can keep tacking onto this
another game into overtime each of the first six weeks
of the season. That has never happened before. I was
watching that Browns game and saw clips of them honoring
future Hall of Fame tackle Joe Thomas. They spelled out
with a band on the field ten thousand, three sixty three.
Couldn't figure it out, and they said that's the number

(01:19:59):
of con active snaps he played OUs in his career,
so he was entered into the club's Ring of honor.
Of course, the recent injury in the off season retirement,
but over ten thousand straight snaps as an offensive lineman.
Julio Jones now eleven straight regular season games without a touchdown,
going back to last November. The Ravens with the twenty

(01:20:22):
one nothing shut out of Tennessee yardage three sixty one
for Baltimore, one oh six for an NFL team for
a whole team. The Titans, including all the sacks, shut
out at home for the first time since they moved
to that place. It was they've not scored a touchdown
their last eight straight quarters, suffered a shut out for
the first time since Marcus Mariota sacked eleven times in

(01:20:46):
the game. He was ten of fifteen passing. He had
fewer completions than he was sacked in this game by
the multi Ravens. I don't know if that's ever happened
in the history of the NFL. Unbelievable. Great stuff to
s all Right, when we come back to the Geico
Fox Sports Radio Studios, Arnie, we've got to dig into
Twitter and you've got to help me figure out who's

(01:21:07):
for real and who is and who's good who stinks.
It's been tough to figure it out in this week
to week league. So Arnie and I will go in
depth on week six and figure out what we learned
that's real and what we learned that's fate. It's Arnie playing. Oh,
I got numbers. I've got numbers for you, Arnie, as
we come to you alive from the Getico Fox Sports

(01:21:27):
Radio Studios. Fifteen minutes could save you fift or more
on car insurance busic geo dot com for a free
rate quote. So I don't think that there's any legitimacy
to anyone thinking about firing a coach one year, six
games in, but I saw this click baitish story. No, no, no, yeah,

(01:21:51):
Scott Frost, you are right. You are correct. Out of
here Owen six for the first time in the ninth
in the program history for the Nebraska and I guess
someone who felt like they needed a few clicks figured
out that if they decided to punt after this season,
that Nebraska would owe Scott Frost as much as twenty

(01:22:13):
six million dollars. So stop it. I don't know why
I felt for that. I I don't know why I
even clicked on it, but this is how global I am.
All right, we got a lot to get to a
lot of tweets. You guys have been great tonight. I apologize,
but we'll get to them all before we get out
of here. So Arnie helped me understand in this whole debate,
in this week to week league that we live in

(01:22:35):
who's good and who's bad. Let's start with the obvious
things we've got. We've got good in in the Rams,
even though the last couple of weeks have been a
bit more of a challenge. But you can't be perfect
every single week. So pretty solid path right now for
the Rams to have that one seed, in my opinion,
in the NFC. How are you feeling about Jared goffin
crew right now? Yeah? I mean, obviously, what's not to like? Um,

(01:22:57):
They've done everything they had to do. They have a
pretty good home field advantage. Nobody in the division is
going to push them because Seattle's the closest team and
there are three games behind. San Francisco and Arizona are
just jokes right now. The Rams don't even have to
put much forth of an effort and they'll still go
ahead and win that division. So you're right, there'll be
number one throughout the entire year. Nobody's gonna go ahead

(01:23:18):
and catch them. Okay, So let's let's stay in the
West then, And I understand that we can play literal
fan and we can get in a battle of semantics.
So let's say when I'm asking for the teams beyond
the elite teams, like, for instance, we get the Rams
are elite right now, the Chiefs are playing offensively at
an elite level. Do we throw the Patriots in that

(01:23:39):
elite category? Arny or no? Do you do you want?
I mean that was hacking one tonight. I know you're
very slow to you don't grade them on a curve
because you're around Patriot fan all the time. But would
you put New England in that elite category right now? Um,
if I was gonna, well, obviously it's Kansas City and
the Rams, I would probably put New Orleans ahead of
the Patriots. Did probably the Patriots at number four? Then? Alright,

(01:24:03):
so beyond this elite level and this so we don't
have a battle of semantics about this when I ask
if they're good, if they're if they're real, or if
they're fake. It's to be a playoff team to be
there in the final week of the season. The Seattle Seahawks,
who I watched absolutely dominate the Oakland Raiders today and
uh nearly and I say nearly, pull out a w

(01:24:24):
against the Rams the previous week. They got a bye
week coming up. Then they go to Detroit and they
get the Chargers at home. Are they good? Uh? No,
they're not. That that's a fake team, even though they're
still right there at three and three, because you take
away the Rams in New Orleans and everybody's either three
and two or three and three, so they still have
a chance of making the playoffs. But they're a fake team. Um.
The only thing they got going for them is that

(01:24:45):
they get to play San Francisco in Arizona. Two jokes
of a team, uh in that division. So they got
them that going for them. Other than that, No, no,
they're they're not that great of a team or that
good of a team, and they shouldn't be in the
playoffs at the end. By the way, I will a this.
You calling San Francisco a joke ofvi team is deserved.
But I think we're having a much different conversation if

(01:25:07):
Garoppolo doesn't go down. So I got your boats on that.
I'm just standing up the Bay Area because the Raiders
sure as hell aren't. Carolina is three and two right now.
They've had a couple of nice wins, but a head
scratcher today in d c Arnie. Real or fake good
or bad Carolina, they still are real and they'll fight

(01:25:30):
out in New Orleans all the way there to the end.
The thing going against them, which is opposite of the
Rams or opposite of Seattle, UM, is that they're in
the hardest division. Perhaps when you have Atlanta's your last
place team. UM, that's no. Give me Tampo certainly could
put offensive numbers up on the board. I saw what
Jami's did today. So Carolina um is gonna have to
rely on their defense, and they have the best defense

(01:25:52):
in the division, so that they have UM well, they
have enough offense to match the Saints, the Buccaneers Atlanta.
I'm not so sure about that, but I think Carolina
could be a playoff team. Hell of the game next
week when they take on the Eagles in Philadelphia, and
then they get the Ravens at home before they take
on the Buccaneers their bye week, and then Carolina goes

(01:26:13):
to Pittsburgh. So they've done one heck of a sketchule
coming up for Carolina. Do we do we need to
talk about Tampa and Atlanta. I know you kind of
touched on them there, but Atlanta was my Super Bowl
pick and it's not necessarily going so well right now. Yeah.
I I expected them to really crushed Tampa today. That
really didn't happen. They got up to six and they
let Tampa Bay back in this thing. Um. It just

(01:26:34):
goes to show you that Atlanta's lack of defense UH
is going to keep them from making the playoffs. Their
defense is one of the worst I've seen in a
long time. I didn't even know what was that bad
coming in? But it is just disgusting, so that that's
gonna keep them from making a run of the playoffs.
I feel like we can throw the whole NFC North
in here, I really do. I feel like we've got

(01:26:54):
Green Bay in San Francisco coming up tomorrow night. Detroit
had the bye week this week, but every ones around
three and two, the Bears three and two, Vikings three
two and one, Packers three two and one, Lions two
and three right now. So I mean, I don't want
to get into picking that division, but Arnie, let's just
to focus on the Bears for a moment. We could
easily sit here and have a conversation that they should

(01:27:17):
be five and oh at this point, right. I mean,
they could have easily won that opening night game against
the Green Bay Packers, could have easily one today. But
we're really looking at a team that could also very
easily be one and four right now, could have easily
lost at home to Seattle on that Monday night football game,
and probably should have lost in Arizona. So are we

(01:27:38):
looking at a team that's for real or fake when
we're talking a playoff contender? Knowing Arnie, they have New
England at home next weekend. Yeah. No, they're for real,
and I think they'll actually beat New England. UM. I
believe that that's a uh the uh New England Patriots
two and point favorite on the road. Um. But besides that,
the Bears have a defense good enough to take him

(01:27:58):
that far, Matt. Fact even better than that, they probably
have one of the top three defenses in the NFL. UM.
That's what's going to save them. They easily have the
best defense in the NFC North, there's no doubt about that. Um.
But every team in that NFC North could make a
run and making a playoff spot. But just just focusing
on the Bears, I worry about Rabinsky. He's never gonna
have those six touchdowns again like he did against Tampa.

(01:28:20):
But he did have a pretty good game against Miami.
So he continues to develop like that. I can see
the Bears making a run in the playoffs spot this year.
Al Right, So I'm not I love where Bobo has
been tonight because he's been in a great mood and
I don't want you crapping all over his cowboys. So
when we look at the NFC East, I'm gonna focus
on the Eagles, because all too often on this show
we completely forget about the Thursday night game and coming

(01:28:44):
off two losses, including one to the Tennessee Titans, and
understanding that the Giants are in that same category as
what the Raiders right now and and maybe San Francisco
and Arizona as bad teams in the NFL? Arnie is
is Philadelphia back? Are Eagles back where they needed to be?
Are they back in that championship level? Speaking of tough schedules,

(01:29:05):
here's their next four weeks Carolina Jacksonville at home, Dallas
at home, then at New Orleans. That's their next four
weeks for Philadelphia, there's three and three. It's a tough one.
There's no doubt about that. They've not lived up the expectations.
Carson Wentz has done a good job and he's put
you know, uh a stats up on the board there,

(01:29:26):
but unfortunately it hasn't really shown in points. I think
Philadelphia is gonna be okay because that NFC East is
not a good division and they'll still have enough to
win that because they'll get it by Washington and Dallas
and the Giants already eliminated Phildelphia. His offense is only
going to continue to get better their defense. If they
come along and get stronger, Uh, they'll make a run

(01:29:46):
through the playoffs even And it's kind of funny because
you I wanted to sit here and debate you on
on on Washington, But the Washington Redskins are essentially an
Alex Smith quarterback team. I mean, I know, hate banks Plank,
that's their starting quarterback, but no, look at the history
since he's made that step forward under Jim Harbaugh. This

(01:30:06):
is what an Alex Smith quarterback team does. They win
some games that blow your mind, They beat some teams
that maybe they're not supposed to, and then they'll go
out and get destroyed by teams they have maybe no
business either getting destroyed by or losing to. So Washington,
to me, aren'tie is a real hard team to figure
out where they are. Are they gonna be there in
the end. Are they going to be a product of
a bad division, or could they end up putting a

(01:30:28):
nice little run together. I mean, the schedules favorable for
them in the next four or five weeks. Dallas at
home at the Giants, which is kind of that give
me on the schedule home for the Falcons, they can
win in the shootout if necessary. They go to Tampa,
two teams that don't play a lot of defense, and
then their home for the Texans. So that's not a
bad little five games stretch for him. I though, that's
a favorable five games stretch. I think what you'll see

(01:30:49):
what the Redskins is what you saw the last couple
of weeks. Either they'll get blown out, but like in
New Orleans, right down so they played a couple of
weeks ago, or they stuck up and have a have
every big one like they did today. It's a week
the week thing with the Redskins. One day they could
look so fantastic, another day they'll get clovered by like
I said the saying, So, I think they're gonna have

(01:31:10):
more consistency, and that's what you get in the NFC East.
That's why I think Phildelphia is gonna win that division.
A couple of quick tweets on what we're actually getting
into here. You can hit us up on Twitter at
Fox Sports Radio is the best way to do it
the easiest, or you can go to our our individual
performance acts if you will, at Plank Show. That's me
Arnie's at stinking genius Swan. That's where Eric kts us
up and says, good stat on Carolina from Brady Quinn earlier,

(01:31:32):
they have the most back to back road games in
the division. It's it is interesting stat as it is
hard to win back to back road games. How many
back to back road games could you possibly have other
than maybe two or what too? So that'd be four
games in a row, right, nobody's gonna have three, which
would be six. Um they looking at Carolina. Let's see
here going in there. I see they go back to

(01:31:53):
back to the Box and the Browns in early December.
They went back to back with the Steelers and Allions
in early November. So yeah, they haven't happened twice on
that is a lot unlike the Patriots to play every
game at home. Um, the play every game at all.
They do every single time. The patricting our national TV.
They seem to be on TV. And then Eddie hits

(01:32:14):
us up and says prediction, C. J. Bethard and the
stinking Niners will take down the Packers on Monday Night football.
That's the pattern of the NFL this year. You know what,
wake up Edny any m is calling? Would you want
to go with that. With Green Bay they might be
the most hard to predict team. Yeah, what the hell?
How about green Bay? Aren't he by by the end

(01:32:35):
of the first That's how much this is gonna be
a blowout. I want to get into the a f C,
but I want to make sure we have plenty of
time to do it. So let's hit a few tweets
before we hit up the a f C. And who's
real and who's fake, and who we're buying and who
we're selling. Let me see where would we want to
start in the magic of the world of Twitter. Though,
I will say, Arnie, I kind of disagree with you.

(01:32:56):
I say, I think San Francisco is gonna gonna keep
this game tight. I don't know what's wrong with me, Arnie.
With Osweiler starting rights t J, the Dolphins are back,
It's time for everyone to get on board and ride
Brock October and the express of the playoffs and the
Super Bowl. Oswiler has taken the Fins to the promised land,
book it and book it right. So far, I've said
Ryan tanney Hill is gonna take us to the Super Bowl.

(01:33:18):
I said Jake Cutler is gonna take us to the
super Bowl. I said, brock Oswid was gonna take us
to the super Bowl. And what's what was the other
fourth quarterback that came in, uh Hills? Who know? Matt Moore?
David came that more when he played in the playoffs.
So he was gonna take us to the super Bowl. Boy,
those are four great quarterbacks. So that Wait, did you

(01:33:40):
catch Adam Gaze after the game getting a little bit
uh touchy whenever it kid talking about Ryan Tannehill here,
whenever he was asking about Ryan's injury. There's some kind
of like hippolars something like that and ken talk. I
don't know. I don't know. I don't sit there and
ask him all these questions. And I just know the
guy who couldn't go today, all right, go ask him
an answering this question about this guy, I got it.

(01:34:03):
But you know what, I'm over it. I mean him.
We know that he's not right right now. Okay, the
details of it, we'll keep that to us. You guys
don't need to know that. No, that's not what you
just said. You just said, I don't know I ask him,
but I just told that that I just knew that
he wasn't ready because because that's what happened. Tenniel called said,
you know, I'm not gonna be able to go today.
Oh okay, don't ask what's wrong? Oh something bothering? Yeah,

(01:34:25):
you know what, none of my business. Don't want to know.
I don't want to know. That's the That's the dumbest
thing I think ever. We're not gonna tell you, right,
You are going to tell us because it's mandated by
the league. So you are going to tell us. That's
the wonderful Who do you think you are? You are
going to tell us because it's by rule, you gotta
tell us. NFL guys hiding behind hip a loss. This

(01:34:49):
is in college, all right, Let's go in depth on
those Dolphins and whether or not Arnie is buying or
selling and who's fake or for real? Coming up next
with arready in Plank on Fox Sports Radio Tough Night.
Welcome back to the guy go Fox Sports Radio Studios
with Arnie Spanier. I am merely Chris Plank. We're playing
a new game show here tonight called Faker for Real.

(01:35:12):
It's where we decide who were buying and who were
selling as far as teams are concerned. The rest of
the way in the NFL. We rolled through the NFC.
I got a few more tweaks. We want to get
to a Fox. I'm waiting for Ben Maller's show. I
just love comedy. We're comedy or Ben Maller's comedy. I
don't think that's a great That is a good looking

(01:35:33):
question I have not. My wife tells me I'm not funny,
so I kind of very funny. I'm a funny guy.
I mean, my wife will even bring up how her
ex boyfriend was a comedian and how I'm not funny,
So I'm kind of get kneecapped on that. So thanks
for bringing up a really sourced subject with me. That's cool, right, Yeah,
that's cool. And she wants to laugh about It's like,
ha ha, that's not that's not funny. If you told

(01:35:57):
her your ex girlfriend was better and bit like that.
I tried to point out to one time. He didn't
really go so well. I gotta tell you what what
we were living in Los Angeles. I'd noticed that my
wife would go on these long walking trips in the
morning with the other women, and I'm like, what the ego?
You walk the same area every time? Why don't you
walk a different paths. Oh, no, we have one path

(01:36:18):
we like to take. I found out they were walking
by Fabio's house every time, so I'm like, what that
was going on? And walk at my Bobbio's house. They
see what she was doing. That's different because she's just
walking by somebody's house, Like, I'm not just calling you out.
It's not Yeah, she's not walking by like ringing. But
to sit there and say that my ex somebody who

(01:36:41):
else was with before you better than something that's kind
of dark. Most most most women on this planet don't
realize how many of us think we're a lot funnier
than we are. And it's okay to just stroke the
ego every now and then. But yeah, thanks Jeffrey, I
appreciate Radio Hunt. I feel lots better enough. Thanks Bobo Mike.

(01:37:02):
Pretty funny though, right here, I gotta give him credit.
Saying the Buccaneers and Chiefs don't play much defense is
like saying my ex girlfriend didn't see other guys much.
I gotta kick out of that. Oh then one more
brock Osweiler after that, when today he's taking over Arnie,
taking over as your starter for the Dolphins at Dolphins
and is going to lead them to the Promised Land.

(01:37:22):
But by that I mean a five hundred season. Seriously,
how do the Bears allow that hack to beat them? Where? Wow?
Where where was the defense? Where we overrating the Bears defense?
And that's exactly how matt ended his tweet. Wow, Dolphins
got a lot of big plays again, Al Wilson, Uh,
you know, with a couple of touchdowns, terrible tackling by

(01:37:42):
how the Chicago Pars and speed kills And that's what
the Dolphins have it if they're running a four by one,
real way, I picked the Dolphins over anybody, and Will's
gonna segue us in perfectly right here to some a
f C conversation, He writes, Guys, please don't rattle off
anymore Jaguar stats. I don't need to be any more
depressed than what I already am. So Arnie Jacksonville after

(01:38:06):
back to back losses three of their last four, including
one when they put seven points on the board against
the Tennessee are they good? Are they bad? Are they fake?
Are they for real? With Jacksonville the defending a f
C championship contenders from last year, They're still for real?
But I do have a lot of questions about them.
I mean, they're lucky enough to play the division where

(01:38:26):
three and three is gonna go ahead, have a three
way tie between them, Houston and the Titans. Um, what
I don't understand is why their defense isn't what it
was like last year. Uh, They've got up a hundred
and twenty six points through six games, which is I
think the third most or second most in the division.
Their defense not nearly as good as it was last year,

(01:38:47):
and just evident today when you saw the Dallas Cowboys,
who have no offense, put up a forty spot on them. So. Um,
even with that being said, in the Jaguars coming up
two losses in a row, I think they've just kind
of hit a speed bump here and should get back
on track. But out of anybody in that division, I'm
still gonna pick Jacksonville over anybody else. Speaking to that,

(01:39:08):
in the preseason, if you were to go back and
look on Fox Sports Radio super Bowl picks, which my
man Ernie likes to hit us up with quite a bit,
Houston was a rather popular choice. And they started the
year oh and three, including somehow losing to the Giants.
But now they've won three straight games, So again, it

(01:39:30):
took a lot. I mean, it took an implosion for
them to win today by Nathan Peterman. But Arnie, do
do we start putting a little bit more stock into Houston?
I mean everyone did in the preseason. They get the
Jaguars next week, do we start kind of buying them
as being for real? Again? No, we don't. A matter
of fact, I think the Texans have played maybe the
easiest schedule I've ever seen in my life. I I

(01:39:51):
don't know anybody in any of the sport that's putting
anything easier. In the three games that they've won, the Bills,
the Cowboys, and the Colts, well, the Cults are the
worst team maybe in the end the fell. The Cowboys
are just playing putrid at the time. Oh and big deal,
you beat the Bills because you have to bring in
Peterman who quickly throws in a couple of interceptions, so
you know, pump the brakes on them. I'm not I'm

(01:40:12):
not buying into them at all, all right, real quick,
Sam Donald had a big day today, which means tomorrow
everyone's gonna be losing their mind about how great he is.
Here's here's what Sam said afterwards. Sixteen week process is
what we like to say. And you know, it's it's
really been fun to be able to go in there
every single week, every single day and see what everyone likes,
you know, in terms of the cadence, in terms of

(01:40:32):
the different plays and all that. Just continuing to grow
as an offense. Don't look now, but the Jets are
only a game out of first place. After winning their opener,
they lost a three straight and they got a running
game that you love so much. Oh, I love the
running game, Isaiah Crow. L Uh what what fifty seven
yards almost four hundred yards? Fifty seven carries almost four

(01:40:53):
hundred yards so far. They take on the Vikings next
week at home and then they go to Chicago. Could
the Jets be a playoff team? I think they could. Um,
like you said, only one game behind. Their defense is
good enough and they are opportunity. Yeah, so their opportunistic
they come up with the big turnover to which they

(01:41:13):
did today against Andrew Luck early and often. Um and
even their offense, uh, Sam Donald's been very prolific, been
very good at times. So yeah, I a matter of fact,
they they're right there behind New England points scored, and
that's after the Patriots put up what a forty three
spot today, so maybe the Jets out of actually the
best offense in that division. So yeah, I think I

(01:41:33):
would go with the Jets to maybe make a run
at this thing and go to the playoffs. Wait a minute,
when I I just realized something that piqued my anger
even more. Do you know how who has the worst
point differential in the NFL right now? It is the Raiders. Yeah. Yeah,
sixty six minus is sixty six so far. See, I
was thinking that h might have helped us out. The
Bills are minus sixty two. So oh my gosh. All right,

(01:41:57):
quickly before I get angry. Uh a f Cne, I
don't want to get people at here on your radio show.
Your radio show, a f C North, this is interesting.
I want to focus on Pittsburgh, who's now three two
and one, But they have a little drama building and
looming with the potential return of Levy on Bell, though
as we learned today, they haven't heard from Levy on

(01:42:17):
Bell according to Jay Glazer, but Mike Tomlin continues to
say that James Conner is going to have a role.
James just wants to put his hand in the power
and be one of the reasons why we're successful. He
wants to prove that. Um, like a lot of young
guys Juju wants to prove that and in they're they're
getting opportunities to do it in their deliver in an
incredibly tight division right now where you have two teams

(01:42:39):
and since in Baltimore at four and two, Pittsburgh now
with three two and one, is they continue to own
the Cincinnati Bengals and then after I don't know that
that abomination today that the Browns try to play there
at two three and one, But Pittsburgh about ready to
take back over that division or do they still have
some work to do with the drama pending in Levy
on Bell's return. I think it's a two team race
and the team that's I'm gonna be in it is

(01:43:00):
the Cincinnati Bengals. I think it's gonna be Baltimore and
Pittsburgh that are gonna fight it out for the division lead. There.
I still got my questions about Cincinnati, and still I
think they were very lucky to pull out that game
against the Dolphins with the two pick sixes and down
seventeen the three going into the fourth quarter. UM, Baltimore
has got a much better defense than Cincinnati. A matter
of fact, Baltimore has got a much better defense than Pittsburgh. Hell,

(01:43:22):
Baltimo has got a bunch better defensive just about anybody
in the NFL. Um and we know what defenses do. Uh.
Plus their offense is not all too bad either. I
think Baltimore is the class of that division. I would
go with them all right, and real quick. Before we
get to sagre in here, let's talk a f C West.
We have Kansas City and that elite group. Despite the
loss tonight to New England, after starting one and two,

(01:43:45):
playing probably as difficult as a three game stretch as
you can have outside of Buffalo, though it was on
the road, Arnie, the Chargers have now won three straight games.
They're sitting at second in the a f C West
at four into dominating ends over the Raiders and the Browns.
Are we buying the Chargers as for real right now?
Some people have them as a Super Bowl contender and

(01:44:07):
don't look now, but they're four and two. Very favorable
schedule coming up also with the Titans at home at Seattle,
at Oakland, Denver, the Cardinals in all those games that
by week they should be favored in all those five games,
even the games on the road should be close to
pick them if they're not favored. So um. With that said,

(01:44:29):
I think they can go four and one, maybe even
five and oh during this streak. That's why very good
set up for them. I like them a lot. I
think they have a good chance to make a run
at this thing. I agree. When we come back to
the Geico Fox Sports Radio studios, your tweets and some
postgame audio next. But first, Steve the saker in the house.

(01:44:49):
What's going on? Steve, We'll start with the Boston News
Baseball and football. There. Tonight, Red Sox are tied up
at a game of piece in the A l c
S after beating defending champion Houston seven to five Jackie
Bradley and early three run double off losing pitcher Garrett Cole.
He had been a fifteen game winner regular season with
six innings tonight, but lost. David Price, sixteen game win
a regular season, was the starter and made it into

(01:45:12):
the fifth inning. No decision for Boston tonight, but notable
that his team won. He'd had ten career postseason starts
e r A over six and Prices teams had lost
all ten until tonight. Houston did home run hit a
home run. They've homered in fourteen straight postseason games, now
a major league record. The NLCS was off. FS one
will have games three, four, and five from Dodger Stadium Monday, Tuesday,

(01:45:34):
and Wednesday. Online car shopping can be confusing, not anymore.
With True Price from True Car, now you can know
the exact price you'll pay for your next car. So
visit True Car to enjoy a more confident car buying experience.
Well Boston had the Red Sox, Foxborough had the Patriots. Tonight,
New England sent previously five and oh Kansas City to
its first loss, forty three to forty. The Pats halftime

(01:45:55):
lead was to nine. They needed a short field goal
on the final play to win the game. Tom Brady
three hundred forty yards passing. He had one t D pass,
one t D run, one fumble. The Rams are six
and twenty. The win for l A at Denver Todd
Gurley two hundred eight yards rushing and two touchdowns. Jared
Goff was sacked five times three by rookie Bradley Chubb,

(01:46:16):
and wide receiver Cooper Cup suffered in knee injury. The
Rams do host Kansas City, by the Way in a
Monday night game. Next month, Dallas led Jacksonville twenty four
nothing at halftime forty two seven the final. Jamal Charles
Now with Jacksonville five carries five yards, Ezekiel Elliott a
hundred six yards rushing at a touchdown. Even Dak Prescott
on eleven carries had eighty two yards. How about the

(01:46:40):
Jacksonville offense twelve drives, ten first downs. Baltimore at Tennessee,
and believe it or not, the Titans offense was even
worse twenty one nothing Ravens the final Alex Collins two
touchdown runs. Marcus Mariotta was sacked eleven times as he
went ten for fifteen passing. Titans running backs twelve carries
thirty yards so added up. Tennessee had seven first downs,

(01:47:03):
nine punts just a hundred six total yards against the Ravens.
Pittsburgh with the late t D one at Cincinnati, James
Conner a couple of short t D runs. Miami with
the overtime win against Chicago on a field goal at
the end of ot is Ronnie Ryan Tannehill did not
play due to the bad shoulder. Frank Gore on only
fifteen carries at a hundred one yards rushing. Houston after

(01:47:24):
three oh and three start three straight wins, beat Buffalo
twenty to thirteen. Nathan Peterman throw a late pick six
to lose the game. Rookie Josh Allen had left with
an elbow injury, and Buffalo had twelve penalties in this game.
Deshaun Watson was sacked seven times, had three turnovers and
one chargers in Washington, h one, Minnesota and Atlanta with
wins Jets as well. Seattle wins twenty seven three over

(01:47:46):
Oakland in London, NASCAR win for Eric Almerola. Back to you,
I think Alabama could beat the Raiders. How about that?
Every week? You know, yeah, every week you gotta take
the worst NFL team. That's why I picked the Raiders.
I'm not gonna argue with you. What does it mean
when guy co says just fifteen minutes could save you
fIF or more on car insurance? Well, I means you
probably should have gone to guy who dot com fifteen

(01:48:07):
minutes ago. Uh my mind just got blown during the break.
I mean I am blown away. I got this, well,
I we got this tweet tweet from Brett who writes,
tell me how New England doesn't house that was nearly
something you had a dump. Sorry, tell me how New
England doesn't have a single penality penalty against Kansas City?

(01:48:28):
Thanks reps. I didn't realize that I said something about it.
A matter of fact, I said, yeah, they're they're good.
Tom Brady is showing because he's like, don't all Belichick
show because don't join the stand. We don't get penalties
called on us. In the last five minutes of the game.
When you said that, it didn't register that they had
not had one called against him. How does that happen

(01:48:51):
in an NFL game? Five penalties for fifty eight yards
against Kansas City, zero for zero against New They played
a perfect game. What can you say, Chris, that's the
that's the bell of checking in a way, the perfect game.
I have never in my life seen that in an
in an NFL game. I mean, I know what's happened.
I'm sure stats and Info is on it. I'm sure

(01:49:13):
all of our gurus are looking it up. But Arnie,
how in the world in in today's modern NFL where
you breathe on a quarterback? It's a foul. You push
a receiver, it's a penalty. I mean, seriously, you went
an entire game four quarters without one. I don't like.
How do you score forty three points and not get

(01:49:33):
one procedure call? How about that? Unbelievable? I mean that's
just wow. All right, great, I've got to buy in
to the conspiracy. I need to be that. That's why
I need to be an NFL ref. I'm gonna have
to leave the show and become an NFL ref now.
And then there's this from Lewis Riddick, who tweeted moments
ago and said, I'm so disgusted by the defenses in

(01:49:54):
the league right now. I can't stand it. And I know, Annie,
you're a big believer in that where setting the rules
up to where it makes it impossible to play defense.
But I think it goes deep deeper to these guys
don't practice. I mean, they don't practice anymore. They don't
have to because they're NFL guys. But from the high
school ranks to the college rinks now and now even

(01:50:15):
into the NFL, it's very rare that you actually have
a physical practice that you tackle to the ground. So
how can we expect defenses to be at an elite level.
When we don't work on it, we place to protect them.
Wasn't that true last year, in the year before, in
the year before, But yet defenses weren't as soft as
they are this year. Uh well, I mean, I don't know.

(01:50:37):
I saw the rule changes. Also, it's like the perfect storm. Um,
we've made it perfect. We've made it easier for offenses,
we've made it harder for defenses. And you can't touch
the quarterback even more now, so there's more penalties being
called in that situation. That's why there's more scoring. I
don't I don't know if I agree with you. I
would love to see the stats on that. I mean, obviously,

(01:50:57):
we only have twenty four minutes left. We gotta get
to bid hour for some comedy before we get out
of here. But I don't know if I agree with that.
Aren't you? Because I think this has more to do
with what has been a slow burn towards it. I
don't think these new roughing the passer penalties have suddenly
signaled this upshoot offensively. I could be wrong, but because
the numbers, look, how many teams are throwing for over

(01:51:20):
like three yards a game or putting over thirty points
a game. It's like double to what it was last year.
I know, I know, but I just again, there's and
that's with a lot of rookie quarters for four or
five rookie quarterbacks that are playing out there, which means
it shouldn't be that high. And we're riding away. One
week they look incredible, one week, they look awful one right,

(01:51:41):
this week, what Sam donald one did? The other three lose?
Josh Allen lost, Baker Mayfield lost, Rosen lost. So yeah,
you know how much we called him Sam Rosen, But
I mean you you get it. It's gonna be a
roller coaster with these guys every single week. Alright, A
couple of tweets before we get out of here, and
before we get to what everyone came here for tonight
was Arnie's picks. I got my picks. I'm sad. I

(01:52:02):
got six of them, three college, three in the NFL,
though one of the I don't have lines on one
of the games. They just dropped some college lines. I'm
sure you're all over those. But here here's here's a tweet. Now,
I wish I could find a way to quit my
team right now, but I just can't opt this. You
need to opt out and team long term contract. Can't

(01:52:24):
quit plank. I say we jump on that Rams bandwagon.
I've been a Raiders fan for forty plus years. This
is one of the worst years yet and we're only
six games in. We're laughing stock. Haven't we fired the
o C before? What is the plan? Jeff? Remember that
you went from Oakland to l A to Oakland to Vegas.

(01:52:47):
I mean you nobody would blame me if you wanted
to opt out like Ben Mallar and have a few
other favorite teams out there. Can't do it. Can't do it.
I can't win. Can't do it. If you were gonna
opt out, who would you opt out too? Uh? Probably Cleveland?
I mean, I don't know if that's much better, is it?
I mean because Bakers or or the Redskins because they

(01:53:08):
got a lot of Sooners there, or the Dolphins, right See,
I can't do the Dolphins. They would always ring my
when I was younger. No, oh my gosh, what are
you talking about? That'd be like, I don't know the
worst thing you could do? Uh? Maybe the Patriots they
went a lot. You're jumping on the bay a wagon Well,
if I'm gonna quit my team, why not go to
a good one? John? How gonna quit my team to

(01:53:29):
go to another bad team? How about that? John writes,
New England did get a penalty, but it was offset
because Kansas City had one as well too. That's that,
that's a good point. Uh, let's see, there's a couple
where I wanted to get here Boston. Dave writes, Arnie,
I hope you enjoy all the Vermonters talking about the
Socks and the Pats tomorrow. Wow, it's uh, it gets

(01:53:50):
a little disgusting and throwing the Boston Celtics that's gonna
be starting up in Uh. Wow, we really got the
perfect stuf. And even the Boston Bruins now have won
four nero I believe, so they've got everything going on
up here. Uh. Sean is fired up tonight. Sean writes,
forget about being the home of everything, Titans. I quit
until they get a quarterback. This bum they have now

(01:54:12):
should just move back to Hawaii. Wow. Um, he's keep
in mind he's not yet. I mean, is that is
that me being a little bit too forgiving of how
many games in the road now has he not been
a percent This goes back to when he got injured
what three or four games ago, isn't it. I think
it might be going back to like last year. It's

(01:54:33):
a matter of fact. And he won a playoff game
last year as well too. Uh. And then I like
this from c J before we wrap up this segment.
The play calling inside the five yard line in the
NFL is absolutely atrocious. Run the football. Stop trying to
outsmart everyone. NFL. Yes, you get stopped three times and

(01:54:55):
you get stuffed, and people, what are you ready the
football for? Are you idiots? I would much rather have
at And I guess maybe it's it's just an optics
thing with me. But whenever you're at a first and
goal from the one yard line and you put a
guy in the shotgun with an empty backfield, well I'm
talking about like from the five or six yard line
and you're running it three times, and I was like,
what are you doing? You know you get stuff three times? Well,

(01:55:16):
I will say this much. The Raiders opened the game
with three straight runs three three straight runs and just punted.
I kind of thought at that moment, Arnty, that John
Gruden was just giving up on the season. And oh, well,
you know what, Let's get this game over and get
back to the States, get our first draft. I thought
he was giving up on the season when he asked
for his whole contract paid up front. I like the
hundred million up front please. And the next thing you know,

(01:55:39):
he's gone after two years. All right, then we come back.
It's time for somebody. Somebody called up last night and
said you would have a heart attack if Wincoln Riley
ever left? Also, No, I would. I would absolutely. I
think he's great. Where you have him going to? Um
we Well, we figured that quick even was going to

(01:56:00):
be a collapse, and if they didn't go after urban Meyer,
then that's where he was gonna end up. Why would
you go after urban Meyer before you'd go after Lincoln
Riley whenever he has run that offense and he's had
that guy. See now you got me arguing to try
to get my guy in the NFL. What are you doing?
All right, Let's get Arnie's pick snacks with Arnie and
Plank on Fox Sports Radio. It's Arnie and Plank on
Fox Sports Radio. What you all came for? Arnie's picks

(01:56:21):
and Moments first were brought to you by Discover Card.
We treat you like you treat you. I still can't
believe October is back in full effect today. I'm not.
I know you did, and I'm happy for you, but
I'm still in an absolute utter loss to try to

(01:56:43):
figure out what happens. We could we can show you
they've opened it up so much for offense and that
even brock Ott Swidler can look good. I like the
people who immediately pointed out, hey, hold on, guy, now,
huh exactly that's gonna happen. You watch the Patriots did
get whistle for an illegal form matetion, now hold on,

(01:57:04):
But it was it was an offsetting penalty, so I mean,
it never even really factored in. It's just it's wild
to me to think that you could go through a
game and not have, by any stretch of the imagination, uh,
penalty that was taken for for a team, which happened
that Bill Belichick afterwards, I'm sure found something to completed
the field tonight. It two good teams and they compete,

(01:57:26):
ble compete a very hard game down to the final
play of the game. There's a lot of good football
players out there in both sides of the ball. That's
when he was asked, I wish I would have heard
that at the beginning of the show. Why is that, Well,
the game was still going on beginning because it gives
so much insight, that's why. Oh and then uh, then
my new favorite SoundBite on the planet, Patrick Mahomes. Afterwards.
You want to compete against him every single day. And

(01:57:48):
we got down, put ourselves from the huge hole, and
I'm just proud of my team and how we fought
to get back in the game, and we had to
lead at one point and we ended up not coming
out with the wind. But just that fight, it's something
you can carry on and to the rest of the season.
I love that dude. That also Pitt for Minnesota and
the Mets are just yeah, Minnesota and the Mets, right, Yeah,
He's got a pretty good background. In fact, Patrick Mahomes

(01:58:09):
probably could have been a guy in the MLB if
he wanted to, but chose to focus on football his
last couple of years. So there you have it, crazy
Sunday night football game, crazy day in the NFL. I
don't know if we solved anything or figured anything out,
except to say it's a week to week league, man,
and next week we'll sit here and wonder how the
hell blank happened. So with that in mind, it's time

(01:58:30):
for Arnie's picks. It's what you all came here for anyway,
So stinking genius take it away. Well, let's get right
at it. We start with per Due at home. Getting
Let's start with per Due. That's where we're starting tonight,
Perdue with the boiler Makers. Well, they're playing Ohio State, alright,
al and they're getting thirteen and a half. Now, Ohio
State didn't look that great against Minnesota. A matter of fact,

(01:58:52):
I thought Minnesota did a phenomenal job defensively. Unfortunately, they
couldn't score in the second half, though they still kept
the game close. You know, this Purdue team struggled, and
they didn't struggled. They had a couple of tough breaks
in the first three games, and they started off oh
and three, barely losing in each of the games. But
they picked it up and won the last three, granted
once to Nebraska in Illinois. All that being said, I

(01:59:16):
think they keep this one close. I may even go
for the upset. I think this is gonna go game.
Give me per Due plus the thirteen and a half
game number two TCU and Oklahoma. You may ever heard
of them, like you familiar. Look, I'm not gonna sit

(01:59:38):
here and and and below smoke and tell you how
great TCU is. Okay lost three of their last four,
and their offense doesn't even resemble their offensive years past.
They played an Okay game against Ohio State. But Oklahoma, Man,
I'm telling you the way they went ahead and looked

(01:59:59):
at against Texas and their defense was just horrible, absolutely horrible.
I'm wondering if TCU can capitalize on that. Um I
get too many points in this one. Give me TCU
plus the seven and a half over Oklahoma. What's the
line on the Alabama Tennessee game. I have not seen it.

(02:00:20):
I think it's up in the air right now because
if TWA's injury, so they haven't thrown anything out yet.
Uh if two of plays, I'm all over Alabama laying
about twenty four to twenty five against Tennessee. A matter
of fact, even if he doesn't play, I'll probably take
Jalen Hurts and get the inflated line down a little bit.
Let me ask this, They're they're real quick, dude. How

(02:00:41):
how much of a difference do you think to of
makes is it six points. It may be that much.
It may be from That's big time, it may be
something like that. So I'm gonna take Alabama over Tennessee
in the NFL. I'm all over the Paris plus two
and a half against New England. Hasn't let down after
their win today me Washington at home, mind is to

(02:01:02):
do against the Cowboys, and I'm back on the Kansas
City bandwagon l a six at home against the Cincinnati Bengals.
So there you have my picks. Do with them as you,
please remember the strictly for entertainment purposes only. I gotta
admit I'm a little disappointed you didn't go after any
major league games. Wow. Well, I mean I'm still picking
the Dodgers and the Red Sox to go to the

(02:01:22):
World Series. That was my pick, Okay, So you're sticking
with that. I'm sticking with that. I feel good about
that right now. I guess maybe I've not given to
enough credit so far. Maybe maybe I'm not in that
position where I've given him enough credit to think that
it could be a six point difference. I like what
Tennessee has done, but I'm with you, Arnie. I think
Alabama is hands down no question, the best team we've

(02:01:44):
seen this year. All Right, big Bit is coming up next, Arendy,
have a great week, buddy, thanks to thanks to Era,
thanks to Bobo, great job tonight on the Wheels of Steel,
And just for Steve to Sager and Arnie Spanier, I'm
Chris Plank. Have a great week. We'll be back next
Sunday night. Been his next here on Fox Sports Radio.
