Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio. A week fifteen in
the National Football League about to unfold right here in
front of your ears on Fox Sports Radio. Of course,
already got started last night. We'll get into that. And
in some cities the off season has already begun. We'll
get into that. But right now kicking off, let's count

(00:23):
them up, one, two, three, four, not six, not saying
that's right. Eight games are kicking off right now as
we get into the holiday spirit and watch a little
football and invite you to do it with us. We're
live Geico Fox Sports Radio Studios. Fifteen minutes could save

(00:44):
you fift more on co insurance Geico dot com for
a free rate. Quote Rob Ryan, how are we doing
to day? A man outstanding? My friend can't wait to
see a little playoff football. Aaron Rodgers is about to
play football? How does how does yeah? How does that
grab you? You know, there was that whole thing this week.
I'm not coming back to save this season, and everyone's like, yeah,

(01:04):
but you're coming back to save the season. Uh in
your mind of course, beyond the obvious, how different is
this team now and how much of a threat does
this team become? Oh? I think this teams a whole
lot different. I mean, you've got one of the best players,
if not the best player in the league coming back. Uh,
it makes everybody better. He makes everybody tougher, makes them

(01:27):
all smarter. Uh, they got a chance. I mean they're
playing some really good football teams down to stretch, but
with Rogers, you always have a chance to win. And
and uh, look, he's gonna make their defense better, which
has been struggling because you know he'll be out there
on the field and he obviously Jordy Nelson, all those
guys wake up and they come alive. So it's gonna

(01:48):
be Uh, it'll be a great game to see that
Packers Panthers game. Yep. And then we're gonna see Aaron
Rodgers right away as the Panthers are lining up to
kick this one off. So we're gonna watch the Packer
offense start this game off. We'll be keeping a very
close eye on that. It was just watching in the
pregame build up here Mike McCarthy and Aaron Rodgers were
walking around out o there on the field together. Rogers

(02:10):
put his arm around McCarthy at one point and McCarthy
cracked a big smile. And I thought, how often, especially
in December, do you see a head football coach in
the National Football League right before a big game smile? Uh,
you don't see that very often. These are serious nudes
in serious situations. But that's the kind of thing that

(02:31):
he can bring back to the football team in the
sideline man, he brings all the kinds of energy and
passion and everything else. So uh yeah, I mean they're excited,
and they should be. I mean, they've had weeks without them.
Now they finally get them, So this could be a
completely different looking team. First play, twelve yard passed right
over the middle, complete first down. Packers are underway in Carolina.

(02:51):
Will keep an eye on that game. The Saints are
gonna have the ball first at home against the Jets today.
I'm not necessarily the greatest matchup with the Saints or
this opponent, I should say, but the Saints need to
get back on track. And I wonder, what what do
you think about where they sit in the structure of
the NFC playoff race. Uh, their division is so good.

(03:12):
They still have some work to do, but they've kind
of been the pace center in that division. Although I
feel like they're you know, there's still a lot of
questions about how good is that defense, how how how
scary are they when they get into January and go
against other really good teams. Well, I mean, I think
I think they're the cream of the crop of their division.
I think that offense has been fantastic. I think their

(03:34):
defense has improved. I mean they're in the league and defense,
but look, they've improved. They get a lot of takeaways,
they pressure the quarterback. Uh So, to me, they're the
best team in in the uh in the division. And
I think I think with Drew, you know, the way
they've played him, with those two great backs, uh they're
doing a heck of a job. Sean Payton and Pete

(03:55):
Carmichael deserve all kinds of credit of getting the most
out of that team. And there goes Alvin Kamara for
five yards in the first down on the first set
of downs for the Saints. He's back after suffering the
concussion a week and a half ago. Uh So that's
certainly a sigh of relief for New Orleans. In fact,
now with Carson Wentz going down, if you had to
kind of put your chip uh into one NFC team

(04:18):
to really make noise and be the Super Bowl favorite.
Who would you pick right now? It's really muddy. Really.
I like Minnesota because I love Zimmer's defense and I
love how that team has just gone about things. Uh,
you know, even whole big, huge play by Ingram up there.
That's a little screen past to mark Ingram And did

(04:39):
he get to the end zone. I don't know if
he got to the end zone. I don't know if
he stepped out of bounds either way. At minimum, it's
gonna be first and goal for the Saints. Just a
little screen route to mark Ingram and he takes it
all the way down to the other end. This one,
this place started at the about the thirties six yard
line for the Saints. It was just their third play
from scrimmage. S pull a little screen pass out into

(05:01):
the flat to mark Ingram and there was not a
lot of stuff in front of him after that. No,
they totally busted the coverage. It's a zone pressure and
they had nobody dropping into that zone. So that's a
major mistake on the Jets part. And then the tackle
he was even worse than that. So it goes fifty
four yards. Um, they are gonna mark him out of

(05:22):
bounds I think just short of the five yard line,
so first in goal coming up in an injury time
out because of the Jets defender who is down right now?
Um okay. A f C playoff picture. Tyrod Taylor and
the Buffalo Bills are on the field right now against
the Miami Dolphins. Wild card implications all over the place
in this game, and today is a really big day

(05:43):
to shake the wild card picture out in the a
f C. The Titans are on the road at San Francisco.
I think that's gonna be, you know, something that they
might have marked in the wind column weeks ago, and
now it's gonna be really hard. In fact, they're an
underdog because of the presence of Jimmy Garoppolo. Meantime, the
Baltimore Ravens played Cleveland, but traditionally, especially on the road,

(06:03):
that's a matchup that just you know, you gotta slog
it out see if they can get that victory. There's
this Buffalo Dolphin game, and there's the loser of last
night's game in Kansas City, the Chargers, who factor into
this as well. So there's a lot to figure out today.
Who who kind of stands out in that group to you, well,
I mean, I think this game here, this this Bill's

(06:25):
Dolphins game is gonna be big. I think, uh, Buffalo
at home, you gotta like their chances there, but remember
the tie breaker if they end up tied to get
into the playoffs with the Charges, the Chargers beat him
head up, right, but it's a three way that changes
it all exactly like they have the tiebreaker right now
because Chargers and Bills are all tied, right, which is uh,

(06:48):
which could happen, you know. So uh, even though they
were playing for the tie the other week, they got
the win against the Colts, which is a strange decision.
But it'll be a look at that game right there.
They last year, uh, you know, because the Bills have
a great record against the Dolphins. But last year the
Dolphins won two games, uh in two really close games.

(07:11):
And uh, you know, so I think it's gonna come
down to the wire and that game is gonna be
a great one. But big time implications right there on on.
If Buffalo can win at home, then then I really
like their chances. If they don't, then obviously they're not
gonna make it. Yeah, then both teams end up at
seven and seven. If the Ravens stumble, there's that possibility.
Keep an eye on the Titans, though, I think everyone's

(07:31):
thought all along they're the wild card leaders. But if
you take a look at the Titans, and by the way,
the Bills are gonna have a first goal here in
a second on their opening drive. But if you take
a look at the Titans, they were eight and four
last week. They lost to the Cardinals. They have to
go to San Francisco today and face Garoppolo. They face
the Rams after that, uh, and then in their final

(07:51):
game of the season coming up this year, they have
to host the Jaguars. It's entirely possible that the Titans
don't win another football game and end up eight and
eight and not in this thing at all. Right, And
that's kind of how they've played. I don't know, I
don't know how they've had that winning up and down
and the quarterback's been up and down. Uh, you know, inconsistent.

(08:14):
So it's just the whole team has been in consists.
Sometimes the defense shows up, sometimes they snake, So you know, it's, uh,
it's what you get when you're when you're really an
inconsistent football team. Lashaw McCoy in for a touchdown, but
there's a flagdown. Will check that. Meantime, New York Giants
opening drive against the Eagles today, and they've gone right
down the field and they've got a first in goal.
And now here comes the first in goal for the

(08:35):
Saints at the nine yard line. First play is a
handoff to Ingram and that goes nowhere. Uh, so it'll
be second end goal from just outside the ten yard line.
So we got three teams all inside the ten yard line.
We'll follow this the best we can here for you.
So it was offsides on the Dolphins, So count the
touchdown for Lashawn McCoy and Buffalo. Meantime, here come the Giants.

(08:58):
Oh check that the penalty was on the Bills. Got it,
So it was a false start on the Bills. They
moved back five yards. Um the Giants on second and
goal will throw an incomplete pass the third and goal
coming up. There. Here comes the Saints on second and
goal from the ten. Gotta watch Kamara. I would think
it's a throw over the middle complete to the five
yard line. Uh that one went to uh the full

(09:21):
back long. So third and goal coming up for the
Saints there, Um, No, they are going to count the
touchdown in Buffalo. All right, that went back and forth
a few times. Yeah, that penalty was on Miami. Mind
backer fit the power play on the completely wrong shoulder
and guy walks into the end zone. All right, Eli
manning third and goal, he'll be sacked by the Eagles
and go down at the eleven yard line. So here

(09:41):
comes a field goal try for them, and the third
and goal play for the Saints from the five yard line.
Camara in motion, Breaze back to pass, He's gonna roll
left looking for the end zone, and he's gonna have
to throw it away. So field goal try coming for
the Saints as well on their opening drive. And actually no,
in New York, there was a holding penalty on the

(10:03):
Eagles on that third and goal. Socks, so wipe off
the sack and give the Giants a fresh set of downs.
They've got first in goal. You know, this Eagle defense
has got a lot of pressure on them. Now. I
know Nick Foles is a quality back up, but I
do feel like, uh, they're gonna have to be the
best version of themselves, and they've been good, but the
best version of themselves the rest of the way this season.

(10:24):
If they are actually gonna do something in the playoffs. Well,
I mean I think so, because you know, when you
lose Wins, who who's m VP candidate? The biggest thing
you're gonna miss this is how how he moves out
of the pocket, makes place with his feet where where
uh Folds doesn't do that. Folds a good quality quarterback,
but he he can't move like Wins. But that you're right.
The defense has played great all year. They need to

(10:46):
keep maintaining that at least and maybe even pick their
game up. They're healthy now on defense, so they gotta
do a great job. They do a great job of
Russian the passer. The secondary's gotta gotta play better, Darby's
he's gotta not foul and uh, and they got to
play better. And that's that's Uh. There's still a great
team to me. There's a Cream of the Division opening

(11:07):
drive field goal for the Baltimore Ravens. They lead at
Cleveland three to nothing. Jamison Crowder a touchdown catch for
the Redskins. They're up on the Cardinals seven to nothing.
In Latavius murray I touchdown run for the Vikings, who
have a seven nothing leading now at home against the
Cincinnati Bengals. So an active start here to week fifteen.
We'll keep you up to date on all of it.
Charles Davis is gonna join us next. He'll preview Rams

(11:29):
and Seahawks, big game coming up later today on Fox
with Rob Ryan Mark Willard. Good morning everyone, It's Red
Zone Radio, all right with Rob Ryan Mark Willard. It's
Red Zone Radio. What does it mean when guys says
just fifteen minutes can save you fifteen percent? More on
concernce probably should have gone a guy dot com fifteen
minutes ago. And what about when you want to look

(11:50):
ahead to a big football game coming up in Seattle
later today, you go to Charles Davis. That's what you do.
Charles Davis. Joins is live right now, Kevin Burkhardt, Pam Oliver,
Charles on the call, Rams Seahawks later today. And I
am fascinated by this game, Charles, for so many reasons,
like this is the game, this is the matchup to

(12:10):
me this time of year. Pete Carroll always known November
December for his best football. We know Seattle's defense is
missing some pieces, but like that Jacksonville game last week,
felt like it could have been a changing of the
guard for who holds the mantle for most intimidating team
in the NFL. Doesn't this this game today we find

(12:31):
out how much of Seattle Seattle still has, do you
know what I mean? Yeah, And that's a great point.
That's kind of how we've started. You know, we've looked
at it in that direction as well. And good morning.
First of all, you got but but you know, when
you when you when you look at it from that aspect,
will the Rams go seize it? Because this is their

(12:53):
opportunity because you know, if you go back to the
first time they played the Rams law sixteen to ten,
but they turned it over five times, Todd Girl's going
in to score a touchdown and Earl Thomas pops the
ball free hits the pylon and becomes a touchback. Seattle
survived in a lot of ways in that game. Yeah,
they made plays to get the five takeaways, but offense
was at a premium. Now flip it over to now

(13:14):
the Rams are like, we've got to go deliver the
knockout shot. So I think I expect the Rams that
coming very aggressive. I think they're gonna up the temple
on offense and they want to test this the Seattle
defense that had so many guys dinged up down, maybe out.
We'll see if Bobby Wagner goes in the middle. I
think they're gonna run the heck out of him early
and see what they've got, and we're gonna find out
about Seattle that championship pedigree. Next man up, defend every

(13:38):
play the graphs. Yeah, this is kind of like, you know,
the king's still here, but is the rain going to
be over? And LA's gotta go seize it if they wanted, though, Charles,
I remember watching this game, going, man, you're exactly right
how you said they dodged a bullet when they beat
the Rams that game. The Rams outplayed him so much,
and that's when that Seattle defense was at full strength. Now,

(14:01):
I know they all get tougher when the twelve man's
out there with him at home, but I think this
this is a scary game for Seattle, and I think
Russell Wilson will do his thing like he always does.
But I have a feeling this Ram offense is gonna
get after because because uh McVeigh knows how to attack
that that Seattle cover three, he really does, you know,

(14:24):
so I think he's I think this game is gonna
be one of those track beats. Stay coach, listen, you've
been there many many times. Okay, when you look at
it from Sean mcbey's perspective, with the team that's hungry,
a young team that doesn't know better in a lot
of ways, right, they haven't had not everyone's experience having
to deal with Seattle told me do it. That team

(14:45):
came out of that first game like, how did we
lose that one? As opposed to, oh, well, we can't.
We're still dealing with Seattle. They want to get up
here and get after him in this one. Now, whether
they do or not, we'll find out. But to me,
the first three, first two or three quarters of this game,
they need to set the hey, set the tempo, because
we know what Russell Wilson does in the fourth quarter.
You've just got to make sure you've got enough margin

(15:06):
there to deal with what he does in the fourth quarter.
And for Seattle, they can't wait. They've got to come
out and play play fast, to play play well right
away on offense. They can't wait and hope Russell can
rescue him in the fourth quarter because if so, the
gap might be too big today. So This is gonna
be a fun one to watch. I can't wait. I
actually have a feeling that it's gonna be close early
and then we'll see how things settle in. But whether

(15:28):
those injuries will catch up with Seattle or not, we'll
find out. I'm really eager to see Bobby Wagner warm
up though, and see if he's gonna go today in
the middle. Charles Davis joining US Rams Seahawks later today. Charles,
I'm sure you've also looked a little bit at the
history of this matchup, at least in recent years for
whatever reason, even when the Rams weren't any good the
last Yeah, like what is that? Why do see? I'll

(15:49):
always struggle with them, if they'll think about it from
from from Coach Ryan's perspective, that defense the Rams cat
that's always been good in the constant for them. Their
offense was just abysmal and that's what helped them back
all the time. But you know, just like in boxing styles,
make the fight well. The matchup was perfect for the
Rams in Seattle to physical teams go and chest to chest.

(16:11):
That was okay for the Rams. That worked out pretty well.
Their problem was they just simply couldn't score enough most
of the time in games that mattered. But did they
give Seattle fits? They always did. I remember all the front,
all the first rounders they spent on the defensive front
that always gave him a hassle. In this case for Seattle,
this is the best offensive line Seattle's Hattle all year.
Dwayne Brown's with a five things in a lot of

(16:32):
ways that left tackle. Do they have enough to run
it somewhat effectively? I'm not gonna say, like Seattle of
holes because Mike Davis is the starting tale back and
that doesn't equate. But can they run it well enough
that they don't have to have Russell perform magic on
every single snap? That's what we're gonna find out in
this game, right That's that's the thing with Russell Wilson.

(16:53):
I mean, he is amazing when you and you take
the fact that he's leading their team and throwing but
also leaving their team and rushing hy amazing. But really,
with that zone running play of Seattle's, it was so
effective early when they allowed cut blocks, you know, and
now they have to block these first round draft choices
which are far superior athletically to their offense alignment. One

(17:16):
on one without cutting them. I mean it makes a
huge difference. Believe me. When you used to play Seattle, yeah,
the first thing you had to do is convince you
guys all right, and look, they're not gonna be able
to cut you in this front. I mean that was
that's the thing. Now you can play any front and
you don't have to worry about some guy rolling up,
you know, cheap shot and you're rolling up on the
back side of your legs. So uh so that's a

(17:37):
big difference. But but the other thing that goes with
that zone read is Russell pulling the thing. And that's
even bigger problem than worried about getting cut, I think. Yeah.
And and if he just does that early in a game,
just to make sure you know that it's there, Yeah,
can do it early on a third down and pisch
you off and then and then you gotta worry about

(17:59):
it the rest of the day. You're right, do it exactly.
You want to step behind and it drives you crazy.
But I you know, for me, when I watched Seattle
with that, and you make such a great point about
the cut blocks, because being able to put when guys
have to worry about that, you're a little bit slower
to the football. When you have to worry about that
and you get on the ground, now now you're obviously

(18:22):
you're not nearly as effective. And it also allows a
lesser offensive linement to be a better player. But but
when you but when you can't cut block, now, if
your offensive line, if those aren't good players with this
defensive front, then you problem because because because because now
Aaron Donald, Michael Brocker's you know, you know, with Robert Quinn,

(18:44):
all of a sudden that talent comes to the front
and they handle things a lot better. So it's gonna
be a fun one to watch. Hey, Charles, how's the
weather up there today? It is? It is your normal
Seattle overcast and is not kicked in yet, but actually
it's closer to fifty degrees and you might x in
a lot of way. There's no issue right now. The
key is going to be if the rain starts to

(19:04):
come later. But I've been telling people, you know, I
watched Jared Goff come out of college and on his
pro day at cow I remember the Browns ran the
pro day. They scored a water on the ball at
different intervals just to see how you would handle it.
And then privately when the Rams worked him out by themselves.
It was in a rainstorm. It actually it rained, it poured,

(19:24):
and they did the whole workout outside in the rain
because they wanted to see how you would handle it.
They're not nearly as concerned with that as one might think.
And of course, Seattle, you know they're used to anything,
of course. Yeah. Well, hey, Charles, this is a great
one on Fox later today. Can't wait to watch it.
Thanks so much for helping us get ready. Thank you guys,
as always, you take care of yourselves again. Happy holiday

(19:45):
season everyone. And the big guy in the red suit,
if he's visiting houses pretty soon, I'm looking forward. Yeah,
he's warming up all right, good stuff. Charles Davis, Ram Seahawks.
Later today on Fox, Christian McCaffrey's got himself a touchdown
for the Caroline Panthers, so they've got a seven nothing
lead on the Pockers. However, here comes Aaron Rodgers moving

(20:06):
the ball down the field for the Packers, and they've
got themselves in the red zone. Third and two right
now for them inside the red zone. Um Dolphins in
the red zone as well, trailing the bill seven nothing,
and we can tell you that all Sean Jeffrey just
caught a touchdown from Nick Foles seven to six, Eagles
lead the Giants. Giants got a touchdown also, but missed
the extra point. Uh. Here's Rogers on third and two. Uh,

(20:28):
they'll hand it off. I think Jamal Williams has gotten it.
Have you had a chance to take a look at Rogers.
He's running the ball a little bit. He's put that
shoulder out in the middle, in the middle of the field,
he did, and he went in to try to get
the first down, running that ball in the red zone.
And you see the class act that Keikley going over
the top of not hitting them, you know, because it
could have been you know, he held that that slide

(20:49):
real late, and they could have been one of those
bang bang plays. Keekley goes over the top out of
respect to Rogers. Saints go into the red zone as well.
They've got a first and ten now at the fifteen
yard line, already leading the Jets three to nothing. Breezes
back to pass on first down and he's just gonna
throw this one away. That one fell apart a little bit,
but the Saints are going up and down the field.

(21:10):
Hot Knife butter. Uh, that's kind of what you'd expect. There.
Here's Rogers running the ball again. He'll get tackled, but
around the ankles one year. I mean, he is showing
zero far, zero fear, guys, guys, amazing, but what a player.
And uh he's got a place of defense too though,
because good god, Panthers just went right up the field.

(21:33):
Kristin McCaffrey, Uh, no doubt has had a really nice
start to this game. Um, let's see what McCaffrey had
just on the first drive alone. Four catches for forty
yards and a touchdown and five carries for twenty yards.
That's McCaffrey and and the we're still we're still very
much in the first quarter of this football game. That's

(21:56):
that's crazy. I mean, how effective they were. And and uh,
Cam look very comfortable back there as well. So big
play there in Buffalo. He got a sack about the
worst team in the league sack in the quarterback. But
they got a big one right there on third down
to hold the Dolphins to a field goal. And the
field goals up in good so seven to three. There
here comes third and four from the ten yard line
for the Saints and they're gonna hit mark Ingram with

(22:19):
a past, but he's gonna be a couple of tackle. Yeah,
there is you tackles that kids made in a long time. Yeah,
we're getting some good off air stories about that guy.
You really love him, all right. Brings up fourth and
two Peyton looks like he's thinking about going for it
right here. Yeah, why not? Now he's gonna score forty
points today. I mean, I promise you. The guy next

(22:40):
to him, Pete Carmichael's best offense a coach and football. Uh.
Now that mcphay is a head coach, so he should
get an opportunity to be a head coach. But those
two together, look out, they're thinking forty fifty points today,
all right. So now Breeze is coming off the field.
Looks like the Saints will call a time out and
discuss this one a little bit. They lead three to nothing,
a fourth and two coming up just short of the

(23:04):
five yard line, and they're talking it over. So when
we come back on that one, we'll either see a
field goal try or a fourth down try for the Saints.
Aaron Rodgers in the red zone as well. Let's get
David Gascon in here and he'll update us on everything.
Good morning day, Mark Willard. All of the guys that
have scored today are probably on your fantasy team. Well, well,
I'm having a good year, David. I didn't want to

(23:26):
mention it. I don't appreciate you bringing it out. Now listen,
it's Christmas time, as Charles Davis said, so when you
win this league, don't forget the guys you were working with.
I do not want to get ahead of myself. We're
gonna take it one play at a time today, all right, listen, guys,
and particularly with coach, we need to ask you this
as far as the Shield goes, because this is an
interesting developing story in Carolina. Now. Sports Illustrated has learned

(23:49):
that at least four former Panthers employees have now received
significant monetary settlements due to inappropriate workplace comments and conduct
by owner j Richardson that includes sex, suggestive language and behavior,
and also the use of a racial slur. Not The
settlements so far come with a non disclosure agreement, so

(24:09):
it forbids Carolina from actually speaking with reporters or anybody
else involved in the situation. So this story is continued
to unfold as the weeks go along. But this peak
could could be a situation like the l A Clippers
from just a couple of years ago. Marvin Lewis is
done with the Cincinnati Bengals after the season expires and
on the field to play. Carolina is doing some work
against Green Bay Panthers. Spread it out a bit on

(24:30):
second ago. From the seven no score, Newton dropped straight back.
There was a crossing route McCaffrey touchdown that big time
right in the dead middle of the field, light open
to echeen like nobody even like followed them out of
there because but this was the guy. Oh men, America
is to check everything off. As soon as we say that,
then Carolina gives up a touchdown Aaron Rodgers and company.

(24:51):
So a p A T is pending at the end
of the first quarter at seven to six vallgame is
on fun So if you want to check it out
and go ahead and do so. Michael Thomas the touchdown
reception off the hands of Drew bree He's from seven
yards out. Pt penning there, New Orleans on top of
the New York Jets nine nothing. Redskins lead the Cardinals
seven to three. Nick Foles so far, so good, four
for four twenty seven yards and include a touchdown pass

(25:13):
to all Sewan. Jeffrey p t was up and good
not blocked. Giants had there's blocks seven six, Phillies on top,
Eric Kendricks with a pick six of Andy Dalton fourteen nothing,
Minnesota's on top of Cincinnati fellas Hey, great stuff, Dave.
They're reviewing that Michael Thomas touchdown that you just talked about, coach,
What do you think was he in or not? That

(25:34):
is really closely elbow goes down. He might have been
just shy of the goal line. This is one of
those kind of annoying Blade of Grass reviews were like,
at full speed, everyone's like, oh, it's a touchdown, and
then we slow it down to all the pixels and everything.
It's like the teams get the breaks and done. Like
he to me, he's not in, don't give it to him.

(25:54):
But because it's gonna be one of those sames. Obviously
a great decision on UH sean eight and Pete Carmichael
to go for its goal and I did or less
than an inch a millimeter or or it's a you know,
a touchdown, so I gotta be a touchdown, doesn't I
don't know that. I mean, they're touchdowns and they don't

(26:15):
call him touchdown. Yes, But then again, this is kind
of the annoying part that I'm willing to put up
with for the fact that, well, no, it's yes exactly.
Uh No, I I'm willing to put up with this
in general, because uh, that's that's review. Like, I don't
think you can have review in the NFL and then
be like, well, we also need to have a close

(26:35):
enough rule you got if you got review, you gotta
use review. Right. Yeah, they're using it, and you know,
a five minute delay for each one right after review
it is overturned and Michael Thomas is not in the
end zone. Not only do I have the running back,

(26:57):
let me add you the guy I'm going against Michael
Thomas anyway, But anyway, said, the Saints are coming back
out in the field first in goal. Check this out, coach.
The New York Giants have just scored their second touchdown
of the first quarter, and and Eli Manning is moving

(27:17):
up and down the field on this Philadelphia Eagles defense.
Remember how they did the fourth quarter against the Eagles. Uh,
in the first time they played them, they scored one
point quarter and apparently that let quarters still existing because
they just went down the field and scored two touchdowns
on them in this first quarter. So uh, I think

(27:38):
they stumbled onto a way to attack the Eagles, uh
the last time they played them, and now they're just
continuing that. So surprising success, but maybe not so surprising
as they had had a lot of success last time
they played them. Mark Ingram in on the very next
play for the Saints on first in goals, So indeed
it is a touchdown. Just take it away from Michael
Thomas and give it to mark Ingram and the Saints

(28:00):
have a nine nothing lead. Now going back to uh,
Aaron Rodgers and the Packers. Yes, Christian McCaffrey ran all
over the Packers, but on the very next drive, Aaron
Rodgers threw it all over the Panthers Davante Adams with
the touchdown there. Um, and so that game is all
even seven seven And coach, I'm buckled up for a
long day with this game, because this has got a

(28:22):
good look to it. The weather is great, Both offenses
look better than the defenses they're going against. This one
might be a lot of fun. No, it looks that way,
it really does. And UH and and shoot, I think
the Bill's Dolphin game looks like a physical game that's
going good, and then this uh New Orleans game looks
like it's such a one handed fight. The linebacker met

(28:44):
Ingram right in the hole and boy did he get devastated.
Done look like a linebacker in the NFL to me
that but that's me just ran right through him. Yeah, yeah,
gosh um Vikings up on the Bengel's FOURT team. Nothing.
We mentioned the Latavia's Murray touchdown run and Gascon mentioned
the pick six that the Vikings have got off of

(29:05):
Andy Dalton. That Viking defense has been good all year.
I feel like they are coming into coming into their
own even more so at the right time. And maybe
that's one of the reasons that case Keenum looks so good,
you know, I mean, I I don't want to again
make it sound like case Keenum can't look good just
for being case Keenum, But there's something about that team,

(29:26):
and they're starting to get that vibe of teams we've
seen in the past where a Trent Dilfer and a
Brad Johnson and and quarterbacks we wouldn't expect can go
on and appear in a Super Bowl. Case Keenum could
be the next one in that group. You know, he's
had a nice year. He doesn't make mistakes, and he's
got an elite defense. On the other you gotta do

(29:48):
give a lot of credit to Case Keenum and and Shermer,
the the offensive coordinator for the Vikings, has done a
remarkable job of of piecing together all those injuries. Dalvin
Cook uh you know the quarterback. I mean, he's done
that from week one. That offensive line, Sperano has done
a great job. I mean, you know, hats off to
that an entire organization, Zimmer, Spielman, all of them, and

(30:12):
they're playing together. And whether it's the defense, or it's
or it's case Keenum, it's often the whole. Teams could
have home field advantage throughout the playoffs and into the
Super Bowl, which would be never done before. But I'm
telling you, I like Zimmer's chances and I love the
way they just keep attacking. It's not Hey, they lost

(30:32):
one week, but you don't see this team down for
more than a week at a time. All right, let
me ask you this question. Do you know who Tommy
Bohannan is? Tommy Bohan Tommy boh Yeah, I've heard him.
I can't remember where, but uh, tight end or back
or something. I think he's a fullback. This is my guest.

(30:52):
He plays for the Jacksonville Jaguars. He just scored a touchdown. Nice. Yeah,
they leave Euston, Texans seven, and I think they've got
no Leonard fo Net today. It's been all Chris Ivory
so far out of the backfield, and his average per
carry's not great. He's got eight carries in twenty yards.
But guess who's quietly throwing the ball around a little
bit today? Blake portals of seven forty yards so quiet

(31:16):
this year. He just been playing really well. And look
at one of his receivers are out and yet he's
still doing good. So I believe Hern's out, but uh,
Lee's been playing better. They lost Allen Robinson before the
year even got so, I mean, you know another another
guy who who came in. Maron's done another great job.

(31:36):
Uh you know, so you gotta you gotta tip your hat.
Some of these coaches doing a great job with their teams.
Just what we expected this year. In the Super Bowl
Blake Portals versus Case Kingdom, that's exactly who didn't predict
that raise the ticket prices. All right, Jets have the ball,
They've got a lot of work to do, although they're
gonna get a nice play here early in this drive

(31:59):
against the Saints where a trail tended nothing. We'll check
in on that. And the Panthers are trying to uh
keep in front of the Packers. A seven seven score there,
but the Panthers have moved it in to Packer territory.
We'll check in on that in just a second. A
reminder that love has an army and you can join

All Right, the Eagles are on upset alert already Geico
Fox Sports Radio Studios. Giants lead thirteen seven and have

(32:39):
the ball. Panthers in the red zone but have a
third and fourteen from the fifteen. Let's take a look
at this play as Cam Newton's got two receivers to
both sides, but he's gonna call time out, So let's
not take a look at that. That's not a good

(33:00):
percentage play. Coach, Why are you seeing every week somebody
waste the time out and there goes Sterling Shepherd for
the long one. And like I just said, the Eagles
are on upset alert, and they are now down by
two scores, and we're only a minute into the second quarter.
Eli Manning today um twelve or seventeen I'm sorry, thirteen

(33:24):
of eighteen, two hundred seven yards, two touchdown throws. Let
me say again, We're a minute into the second quarter.
Giants lead nineteen seven, extra point on the way. It's
that fourth quarter, same thing hit to him in the
fourth quarter. I mean, he's he's you know, has an
answer for him, obviously, And I think every team in
the league getting ready to play Philadelphia to look at

(33:44):
that offensive game plan and steal a lot of the
things they're doing, because obviously they haven't stopped him in
the last two quarters they played. Yeah, now, this player
was mostly Sterling Shepherd, not a lot of Eli Manning
crossing route a little crossing route, and Shepherd did the rest.
Um and so our Shepherd today five catches, nine yards
and a score already, And so the Giants are out

(34:05):
to a really good start. And this is not gonna
make anybody in Philadelphia feel comfortable because they were already
on depression alert throughout the last week because of what
happened to Carson. Yeah, I mean, you know, they've got Schwartz.
You know, it's got a step of sing up. I know,
he's definitely gonna be a big head coach and guy
for next year. They're gonna lose him, but holy cow,

(34:26):
come on now, he's gotta earn his keep. You know,
like you said before you threw a cat on him
by saying that they have to play better on defense,
they're playing worse so far, not so good. Yeah, the
Dolphins are trailing the Bills seven to three, but have
moved into scoring position. They're just inside the thirty yard line.
Will keep an eye on that. The Jets have moved
into the red zone at New Orleans. This is their

(34:48):
first good drive and it's being engineered by Bryce Petty.
How about this coach? Uh yeah, tend nothing Saints, but
the Jets are on the move here. Yeah, they're surprising everybody,
including them, I think. Uh So, they've got a second
down and eight coming up from the fifteen yard line.
Keep an eye on that. I also want to pass
along the scoring line right now for Deshaun Kaiser in Cleveland.

(35:13):
The Ravens lead this stunning game three to nothing in
the second quarter, and Deshaun Kaiser today is somehow three
for seven for minus twelve yards, minus twelve yards and
a pick and has right. So all three completions have
gone to Isaiah crow L for a net negative twelve

(35:35):
and the longest single completion by crow L of the
three catches went for minus one yard, So all three
completions were negative game plays. And you've got yourself three
of seven for minus twelve and a pick. But the
Browns just got the ball back and they're only down
by three, and right now they have zero yards for

(35:57):
the game. So that's uh, ramon defense is great. I
just think they had they threw a stinker out there
last week, and and uh, you know, but they you know,
they hold all the keys. If they're gonna get to
the playoffs, it's got to be because of their defense.
All right. Here go the Jets first and goal, just
inside the five yard line. Let's take a look at
this one handoff up the middle. Before Tat is gonna

(36:19):
get to at least the one. If he didn't get
in he is down at the one second and goal
coming at the one Panthers put up a field goal
is Cam Newton airmailed everybody on that third down past
ten seven Panthers lead, Dolphins putting a field goal in
the air. That one's up in good. So that's now
a one point game. In the second quarter, Buffalo leading
seven to six. Uh, this will only get Sean Payton's

(36:42):
juice is flowing even more right. Oh, there's no question. Yeah,
he'll be he'll be fired up. Uh, he's going to
get his his uh old. The offensive coordinator for the
Jets is guy named John Morton. Does a fantastic job. Uh.
You know, he's actually moved the ball with Bryce Petty
at quarterback and I don't know who at white out. So,
I mean, he's done a good job all year in

(37:04):
my opinion of his first being a coordinator. And he's
still you know, he's he's moving the ball against the
Saint defense. Um, there's a touchdown in Washington. Somebody that
goes by the name of Capri Biggs has has scored
a touchdown. UM from Kirk Cousins. The Redskins are down
to people off of the practice squad because of so

(37:26):
many injuries. But they lead this game fourteen to three
against Arizona. That's who's in town today. And uh, let's see,
I think the Jaguars have just changed the scoreboard. Indeed
they have. That's a touchdown pass that goes from Blake
Bortles to Mickens. Uh. Jags having some fun at the
expense of the Texans fourteen to nothing. I remember, if
the Jags win today, they clinch a playoff spot. Um.

(37:48):
And this is gonna be for me, one of the
most interesting things to see. This young team filled with
people who have never been there before. They're gonna go
to the playoffs this year. Uh and potential. I mean,
they're gonna host a game. Uh and I would like
them to probably win that. We're gonna get to see
what these guys can do against Pittsburgh and New England.
And remember what they did to Pittsburgh earlier in the year. Now,
like this is a dangerous team, no question is. Anytime

(38:10):
you can play defense and then uh, look they can
run it. But Bordles just been throwing the ball. We
shake going into the season from Week one to Jacksonville
and the Rams for two teams to watch and apparently
we know what we're talking about. Yeah, yeah, that that
was nice of you to say we by the way,
I think those were points that you made, but we
are on a team and I really appreciate that. Yeah.

(38:32):
Bout Powell with a touchdown run for the Jets. So
that's now attend to seven ball game in New Orleans.
Here comes the Saints offense back out onto the field. Uh.
The Vikings have just added a field goal, so they
now lead against Cincinnati's seventeen to nothing. That one has
the feel of a runaway early. But we're keeping an
eye on this Giants Eagles game. This is clearly the

(38:55):
intrigue early on with the Giants putting up twenty points already.
They missed a an extra points, so they've gone into
the end zone three times already and we're only at
the twelve and a half minute mark of the second quarter. Uh.
Nick Foles hasn't necessarily looked bad, but all eyes are
on him today to see what he can do. Hasn't
been able to sustain drives early on, and that'll be

(39:16):
the case again here as he throws in complete looking
for zach Ertz on third down. Folds right now five
of seven for thirty six yards. He does have a
touchdown throw to Alshon Jeffrey. But what are you seeing
from him early on in this game? Well, I think
his movement is is a problem for the Eagles offense.
He got sacked fumble. He he did have that play
and every time now Spagnola is seeing, uh, you know,

(39:39):
he's not real set, so Folds drops back, he pressures
him with his own pressure, and he's throwing just a
step too fast. Uh, you know, trying to avoid the
rush because he can't do it with his feet. So
he's uh, he's throwing too quickly. Uh he's got to
let that that route develop, he has time to protect. Uh,
just throwing a too fast on pressure. All right. Watching

(40:00):
Aaron Rodgers right now, coach, And it's reminding me how
much I enjoy watching Aaron Rodgers play football. And I
so I'm already thinking, like, Okay, what do we need
to have happened to get this guy into the playoffs?
Who do we need? Who are we starting to root against? Here?
Are we rooting against? The Falcons? Were probably rooting for
the Rams to beat the Seahawks later today. I would
think that's that's what you need to get this guy

(40:23):
into the playoffs, because yeah, oh, Shandy McCoy breaks one
loose bills lead the Dolphins seven to six. But yeah,
that's official. Can I say that? Is that? Okay? I'd
like the Rams to beat the Seahawks later today. Uh,
And it's not well. And right as I say that,
he throws a pick the Panthers of intercept in Rogers
forget everything I said. All right, Saints are lining up

(40:43):
second and six from the ten yard line. They lead
ten to seven. Drew brees out of the shotgun. Here
we go back to pass looks over the middle. There's
Camara Camara touchdown. Are you kidding me? Come on, Camara.
It's just too easy for the Saints in the red zone. Plus,
Shawn McCoy just scored a touchdown thirty seven seconds after

(41:04):
he was laying on the field that legal pick zone
that they wont that they got the two point playoff
last week. Here's what's so funny, And this is what's
so fun about getting to sitting here with someone like
Rob Ryan has been on some of the NFL sidelines
McCoy is down on the ground and and here comes
the medical people and they're looking at him, and I go, coach,
oh no, oh, no, McCoy, he's down. Coach goes he's

(41:27):
take a little break, and he's down every week. Every
week he goes down. Every week he comes back. So
the next minute touchdown And that was a one on
one matchup and ironic back matchup there that in that
in that Saint game, you had fifty eight covering Kamara. Um,
I don't really understand. Can you explain to me the

(41:49):
phenomenon that is Alvin Kamara. I don't really understand what
it is, uh that defenses are not able to do.
He's averaging seven yards per carry this year to the backfield.
He's obviously a nightmare to cover when he goes up
in the middle and becomes a pass catcher. But you're
a defensive coordinator, if you're getting ready for this team,

(42:09):
what are you doing to try to stop him? I'm
gonna drop a safety down over where he comes from
every time and having an eight man box that way.
So because especially the way they use him, every time
he's out there, he gets the ball. So you gotta
you gotta handle him first. That's the first thing to stop.
But he's a special talent. I think that. Butch Jones,
the only guy in the leader gets stop him, and

(42:30):
he's he was a head coach at Tennessee because he
never played him. I mean, it was crazy. But what
a great job by the scouting staff for the Saints
and Sean Payton and Jeff Ireland and those guys Mickey
Loomis to find a guy that they were in love
with them they want to take him earlier than they did.
When did they get the up traded up to get

(42:52):
him in round three? Clearly a first round talent, and
it just it's amazing that some teams get that. You know,
they get it. They see a guy, they realize he's
gonna be productive in the NFL, and then you know,
then you get guys that, uh shouldn't even be drafted
in the first round. They look good in shorts, and
they play on Sundays and they get exposed for touchdowns

(43:15):
every week. Uh. So excited about the running back position
right now in the NFL. We've talked about this um
and you know, there was some hesitation suddenly over the
last few weeks about Kareem hunt. Never mind, he's fine,
he's back. Holy smokes, he went bananas last night. Uh,
let's not forget about guys like Leonard Fournette. Uh, now
you have Alvin Kamara and people are saying, uh, you know,

(43:37):
Christie McCaffrey, let us not forget him and then look
at what's coming. You know, this is supposedly an amazing
running back draft. Also when you look at se Kwon Barkley,
Royce Freeman in Oregon, russiad Penny at San Diego State,
guys down at l s U, like there might be
enough for everybody to have an every down back coming

(43:58):
up next year, I'd be an ass. Uh, those guys
really do tilt the field. And I remember for a
few years there was there's not one running back taking
in the first couple of round. So so it's exciting times.
Not only you got the three quarterbacks, are more really
coming out this year, he also got the great runners. Okay,
we haven't seen Aaron Jones in a few weeks. Packer

(44:19):
running back got hurt, lost the job to Jamal Williams.
Jamal has been doing good things. The Packers have decided
to give Aaron Jones a drive here and Aaron has uh,
forty three yards on three kerries. He is gashing the
Panthers defense right now. Um too, I'm sorry. Not three carries,
two carries, two carries, forty three yards for Aaron Jones,

(44:40):
and he's got the Packers into Panther's territory. He looks healthy,
he looks really good. And if you take the three
Packer running backs this year TOI Montgomery, Aaron Jones, and
Jamal Williams, and you get each one of them at
their healthy best. I like Aaron Jones, and I wonder
more about what the Packers are gonna do next year.
You know, they drafted, but Williams and Jones are both rookies. Uh,

(45:01):
we didn't mention them in that conversation we just had.
Uh you know, I don't know what you do next year.
There's you can't do that. One of them is scaped back,
one of them is. They're they're kind of the same
type of player. And the Packers are suddenly really really
uh you know, fruitful at that position starting next year. No,
I mean, you know, it's it's amazing. And look, we
all know they're a past team first, and they're gonna

(45:23):
you know, complimented with the draw, you know, and things
like that. But because you do have Aaron Rodgers, but uh,
you know, speaking Aaron Rodgers, amazing play to escape there
off the pass rush, but you know, obviously it's gonna
go through him. But they do have a couple of
nice capable running backs to compliment Aaron. That's that's gonna
be tough going forward. Yeah, and I think Time Montgomery

(45:44):
maybe could go back to being a wide receiver. You know,
Time Montgomery what he's shown these last two years. I mean,
he's a good player, but he's so small, uh, and
his body doesn't hold up to being in every down
back And now that you got Jamal Williams and Aaron Jones,
to me, that's something they might at next year. Yeah,
that'd be a great point. Get your best players on
the field, absolutely, all right. So the Packers now have

(46:06):
a third and nine. They're on the outskirts of field
goal range. So keep that in mind. On this play
third and nine from the thirty seven Rogers back to pass,
he will throw incomplete out into the flat and uh,
that's gonna bring up an interesting decision here from McCarthy.
You're looking at about a fifty four yard field goal
attempt for Mason Crosby. Uh. Crosby, you know, is no

(46:29):
stranger to cold weather. News flash, he plays at Green Bay.
But that said, fifty four yard field goals this time
of year, Uh, no matter what city you're in, they're
kind of tough. Yeah, but this is one of the
better kickers in the league. But uh, it looks like
they're gonna pun They're gonna shift the quarterback out of here,

(46:50):
maybe get a five yard penalty to back it up. Yeah,
they're trying to mess with the heads of the Panthers.
They've got a punter back, but they've got somebody over
center trying to get some guy to jump offside. Now
there and it's not Aaron Rodgers, by the way, it
was over centered. Now they set back up in that
situation again with someone over center. It's fourth and nine.
By the way, the clock moving down, moving down. The Packers,

(47:10):
we'll call time out or they'll just let it be
a penalty and kick it away. Yeah, they had no
interest in kicking a field goal from that distance. If
you would have seen somebody jump on that that, I
think it would have been a whole lot better off
having the offense do a trick play, you know, and
take the five yard penalty than than the punt team. Yeah,
like I'm gonna put Aaron Rodgers on the field. If

(47:32):
I'm gonna do that, they can think about it for
a little bit. But instead, if somebody had jumped there,
if it would not have been good. If somebody had
jumped there, don't show up to the film room next week.
That would have been that one would have been a
long one um all right, penalty on the Saints right there.
Talk about an uncatchable ball. These things are terrible throw

(47:53):
and the safety comes down and clean. Some receivers clock
on a on a corner route at the so uncatchable.
But I mean the dumb penalty here anyway away? Yeah,
by the way, another Blake Bortles sighting two touchdown throws
now for Bordles already. Both of them go to Mickens
and the Jags lead the Texans twenty one to nothing.

(48:16):
The Vikings route is on on Cincinnati. They've just gone
in again twenty four nothing is the score there? Uh,
And this one was a case keenom t Stefon Diggs
touchdown play. So still just under seven minutes to go.
Until the break and the Vikings are up by twenty
four on the Bengals, who, by the way, are playing
with the knowledge that they'll have a new coach next

(48:38):
year as well. Right that that wasn't a real good secret,
I guess. But the strange thing I just saw Eli
Apple going forward on fourth and one. I don't think
they got it. They lost, you know, but Eli Apple
siding out there with the Giants. If I was him,
I'd be watching out for friendly fire exactly right, especially

(48:58):
getting into it with Landing calling. Well, I don't know
about that. This was a big play in that game
because Nick Foles really needed a drive right there. The
Eagles go for it just across midfield on fourth and one.
They're already trailing by thirteen and le Garrett Blunt loses
a yard. So now the Giants have good field position
and a thirteen point lead. So, uh, keep an eye

(49:19):
on that one as well. We hadn't had a chance.
He had to tell you that the Browns scored a touchdown.
Deshan Kaiser still has minus twelve yards passing, but the
Russian game took over long one for crow l Uh
followed by a Duke Johnson touchdown run, Browns are on
the board. However, the Ravens come right back Joe Flacco
a touchdown run and at the three minute mark of

(49:40):
the first half it is Ravens ten, Browns seven. But
you think the Browns might have a little chance today, Huh, Well,
I do it just because I think, Uh, you know,
that was such a deflating loss of the Ravens last
week that you know, look, they have to win out
and that's not and that's not easy to do. They
control their own destiny. So you take an experienced team

(50:01):
like the Ravens could come through it. But look, you
hate you should beat the Browns in Cleveland. I get it.
But those things are tough and and uh, I know
they're one in twenty nine or whatever they are with
the coach, but those things still look look easier when
you're looking at him on paper, because you still gotta
go out and execute a couple of things to pass
along one. Jay Cutler looks like the other Jay Cutler Again,

(50:24):
he's not having the same day that he had against
New England. Uh the other night, he's having a rough
day in Buffalo. Dolphins trail fourteen to six, Bills about
to get the ball back. But also in that a
f C playoff chase you're talking about it with the
Ravens and the wild card. Of all those wild card teams,
the Ravens to me have the edge, even though they're
a game behind the Titans. The Titans that the Ravens,

(50:45):
There's the Bills, there's the Chargers. To a lesser degree,
there's the Dolphins and the Raiders. Uh, the Ravens have
the advantage. Listen to their schedule the rest of the way.
At seven and six right now, there are visiting the
Cleveland Browns. After that they will be home to the
Colts and home to the Bengals. I mean, if they win,

(51:05):
if they win today, that team's going ten and six.
And uh, and the Ravens I like them again over
Tennessee because I'm not sure Tennessee is gonna win another
football game. They were eight and four, lost last week
to Arizona. Travel to San Francisco today and then they
have two home games. But those home games are the
Rams and the Jags. I mean, they may they may
go eight and eight, You're right, I mean, and they've

(51:28):
done nothing like you just can't ever count on the
can't count on the quarterback play, can't count on their defense,
can't count on a running game. They got two backs.
I mean, it's just, uh, it's a strange team. And
the Bills are on their way to potentially going eight
and six with a home win over the Dolphins here.
But let's remind you that the Bills will not be
at home the rest of the season after today. Uh,
and included in that as a road trip that will

(51:49):
go to New England next week. Uh, So they've got
some difficulty on the schedule. They end the year in Miami.
Al right, Saints offense back out on the field, Cam
Newton and the Panthers back out on the field. We'll

deal with it all right. Geico says, just fifteen minutes

(54:18):
can save you fifteen per cent or more on car insurance.
Means you probably should have gone a guy. Go dot
com fifteen minutes ago with Rob Ryan, Mark Willard. Here
go the Packers in Randall Cobb touchdown. I believe that
Aaron Rodgers was the one who threw that path, running
and throwing right before he got hit and fell down.
I'm unbelievable played by Rodgers. Let's look back and make

(54:40):
sure Rodgers is okay. He's doing the discount double check.
He's walking for the sideline, and uh, the Packers lead
at Carolina thirteen to ten with an extra point on
the way. Um, yeah, gosh, good good play by Aaron Rodgers.
He was being sandwiched by three defenders and I got
the ball to Cobb, and Cobb took care of the rest.

(55:02):
And you know, these are the guys Randall Cobb, Guys
like that who get lost suddenly when Aaron Rodgers is
no longer on the field, Like those third and fourth
receiving options, you don't even see them anymore when there's
no Aaron Rodgers, right. I mean, Rogers does such an
amazing job of extending plays. I mean it's incredible, and
then he's so accurate. It's just amazing. First and goal

(55:24):
for the Bills, Tyrod Taylor runs what looked like the O.
They're gonna call this a touchdown on the field. I
think he was in ran right over the top of
the pilot, and Tyrod Taylor and the Bills have it
going rolling downhill right now against the Dolphins. It's twenty
two six with an extra point on the way. Let's
take a look at this. This was a quarterback draw

(55:46):
what of talent he is a lot of people don't
realize they got they got a special quarterback there in Buffalo.
If people just don't want to admit it. All right,
let's see that's close. I think he's got the ball,
Like he does not go into the zone, but the
ball does. And it's just a matter whether his foot
hit out of bounds prior to the ball being reached

(56:06):
out over the goal line. I think the ball was
in first. Uh. They'll obviously take a look at that um,
but pending any crazy overrule, which now they're going to
go ahead and confirm it. It's a touchdown. Bills are
up twenty to six with an extra point on the way. Uh. Meantime,
a third and two for the Jets right now, they're
still in their own territory. But here's Bryce Petty throwing

(56:29):
incomplete over the head of his receivers who weren't even looking,
which means the Saints are about to get the ball back.
Seventeen to seven, Saints lead minute thirty five ago until half.
And knowing what I know, having talked to you all
year about Sean Payton, he's already thinking about another six
points before the break, no question. I mean, I'm telling
you he won't be happy unless he hits forty this week.

(56:51):
So I think, uh, I think they'll hit forty this week.
I really do, because I think, uh, like Drew Brees
with any time when the clock's deadly. This is as
uh a Jet defensive hasn't played well. Mo Wilkerson's home
watching the game are probably not I mean, you know,
it's just not good or maybe not. Yeah, Saints get

(57:11):
the punt a flag on the play, so that'll move
them back a little bit with where they start. With
a minute twenty seven to go. We're also watching the
Giants and the Eagles. Eli Manning a short time ago
intercepted and the Eagles turn it into six as Nick
Foles finds zach Ertz for a touchdown, and suddenly we've
got a closer game. There no way I would have
expected this many points in the first half of this game.

(57:33):
It's fourteen already, Giants lead the Eagles three and a
half minute still to go until halftime. No, that's amazing.
It's it's uh surprisingly an offensive game. Uh you know,
but again, I think the Giants jumped out on the
Eagles early. Looks like the defense is finally starting to
settle down a little bit for Philadelphia, and like you say,

(57:54):
they have to step their game up with folds of quarterbacks.
And the Giants go three and out following that touchdown,
so immediately the Eagles are going to get the ball
right back. Um, I'm keeping an eye on this Washington
Arizona game. We are quietly TikTok, TikTok, moving closer and
closer to that Washington off season and what they do

(58:16):
at the quarterback position, what would you do well? I mean, shoot,
Cousins has actually played pretty well. I think the whole
organization is gonna look at what direction they want to go.
You know, Uh, Jay Gruden has been a good, good
football coach. But again, everything gets evaluated after a year
that's been as disappointing as there's as I know, they've
had a lot of injuries, but injuries don't matter. No

(58:38):
one's had as many injuries as I had when I
was in Dallas, so nobody cared, So I don't care
for them. So that's what it is. I'm just being honest.
You gotta evaluate everything when it when a season goes
as bad as their's had. All Right, the Jets have
just intercepted Drew Brees and are gonna have the ball
first inten just short of the ten yard line. Also,
the Eagles blocked the punt there by the Giants um

(59:01):
and uh yeah, that's huge. I mean the Eagles were
down twenty to seven. We put them on upset alert
and just boom, like right away you had the pick
and now the blocked punt and the Eagles are sitting
there with the first and ten at the Giants eighteen
yard line, and they might be up by a point
here in just a second. Now, that would be amazing,
you know. And that and that's what they have to do.
I mean, everything's got to pick up. Uh, you know,

(59:24):
protection's got to do better, uh, because Foles needs the
extra time to throw. Every time he's being pressured, he
keeps hurrying. And that's where he's got to calm down
a little bit because he's really not under that much pressure.
But here he throws high, and that's a bad sign
when you're throwing that high when he had all kinds
of time to throw it. All right, So second and
ten now coming up for Nick Foles and company. Again,

(59:46):
they're at the Giants eighteen yard line. The Giants leading
this game twenty to fourteen. So uh, we'll take a
look at what Folls does here on the second and
ten opportunity for them to get a little bit closer,
maybe even take the lead. He's out of the shotgun,
got two receivers to his right, one to his left,
and running back right to his left, and that's gonna

(01:00:08):
be a gy who gets the call and a gill
run for about six yards found to about the thirteen
yard line, So third and short coming up. Cam Newton
is back out onto the field. He's found. Christian McCaffrey
is by himself in the middle of the field. What
happens on a play like that? Defensively, obviously somebody busted
a coverage because somebody has to drop down for a

(01:00:30):
short zone there. But it was it was okay, it
was right before. It was right before the half, playing
back by the goal line, so that reach the half
and Carolina. Thing is, if you're gonna do a play
like that, you have to have some kind of lateral
option for McCaffrey, uh to throw back, you know, because
it is the last play and a half. Um So
off they go to the half with Green Bay leading

(01:00:51):
Carolina fourteen to ten. Here comes the third and five
play for the Eagles. Falls throws by himself in the
end zone, touchdown. Uh that was who was that? That was? Yeah?
That was yeah Burton with a touchdown and boom like that,
twenty to twenty extra point on the way. Eagles are

(01:01:14):
back in the lead. Everything, everything's fine. I think this
is the second time now in two weeks with Spagnola
the coach, when they start off fast and then they
just can't seem to hold it. Uh yeah, exactly, And
I mean they didn't even hold it for a half.
So this one though, I think you know, Eli Manning, Uh,

(01:01:34):
I'm not putting this one away for the Eagles yet
either though, because Manning has done a lot of good
things against that Eagles defense all year long, and what
you noticed something earlier with him. Also, the reason the
Giants get dangerous right now is you got a Hall
of Fame quarterback and just nothing to lose, not at all.
Kinds of different things that going forward on fourth down,

(01:01:57):
and uh, sometimes that can that can bite you. Yeah,
I mean right now, you know they they are playing
with the house's money. So look, everybody expects him to
lose you know, there's total uh you know, disarray in
the organization. They're gonna to get that settled. But with Eli, man,
he's out here trying to win one game, and he's
gonna pull out all the stops. He's gonna go for

(01:02:18):
broke and and let it eat. Might be his last
few games with the Giants because there's you know, obviously
talking his future there in New York. So why not
just cut it loosen and try everything you can to
win the game. Jets go backwards four yards on their
first and ten play from the Saints eleven. Uh, kind
of a busted play. They were running a little screen
route and uh the snap was high to Bryce Petty,

(01:02:40):
So they lose four yards. Their second and fourteen coming
up here, uh in uh in just a moment, so
we'll follow that one. Also pass along that the Ravens
are now up by ten in Cleveland, seventeen to seven.
Joe Flacco hitting Ben Watson for a touchdown there, and uh,
the dream of a Browns victory is Uh, it's uh

(01:03:01):
starting to uh waiver a little bit there. Coach. Yeah,
I mean, you know you gotta love seeing Ben watch
and go back to Cleveland. One of his many teams
that he's played for and catch a touchdown past one
of the best tight ends in football, one of the
smartest guys in football. I think you had a perfect
Wonderlick score. It's how smart Ben is. Uh, you know.
But it's great to see a veteran like that get

(01:03:22):
a touchdown against his old teammates. We can tell you, however,
that Deshaun Kaiser's passing numbers have gone into the positive. Yes,
so Deshaun Kaiser is now nine of fourteen for fifty
two yards. Yes, not negative fifty two yards, fifty two
positive yards for Deshaun Kaiser. That's right, you're my guy.

(01:03:45):
And he does have a pick and his team is
down by ten points and his team is thirteen. But
other than that, that's some really good stuff going on.
How about that? How about the comment by Dorsey this week,
um that the regime that was here didn't get real
football players too soon? But how do you think that

(01:04:06):
resonated in the locker room. He's had a lot to say,
he said. Then she ripped that Kenny Britt that he won,
this type of guy and the Patriots take him. Uh,
you know, so he's been on a roll man, I mean,
I can't wait to see what this guy maybe's gonna
bring back Jim Brown or something. Yeah that hey, nothing
else has worked? What the hell? All right? The Jets

(01:04:27):
go backwards on that after getting the interception of Drew Brees. However,
they will line up for a field goal try. And
they're also running the clock down, so they're gonna keep
the Saints offense off of the field. Uh here right
before half, So looks like all likelihood the Jets will
get a field goal here, trailed by seven, going into
the locker room. Keep you up to date on that

(01:04:49):
Eagles extra point was good. They're up by one. Here
comes David Gascon. Let's get the update on everything going
on out at about Gascon. Take it well, if you
played Nick Fools today and your fans see football team,
you are an absolute genius. Touch his hands texta step
lucky firing. What open touchtile we have, Din Dirt, tell

(01:05:11):
you a touch stile. I think they're warming their hands
around the bonfire, a great job of protecting. They run
a little switch out on the outside and they're able
to kick just wide open in the end zone and
Trey Burton just there's nobody around tray when he kipt
as a football, they sit down, cross their legs and

(01:05:33):
they warm their hands. It was part Eagles Radio. Hold
on time out, time out, time out. Everybody call the
Tom Willard's calling a time out, time out. Did you
start Nick Foles in your fantasy league today? Yes? Okay,
So I now need to ask what were you doing
when I got here today and you said folds are

(01:05:55):
Garoppolo and I'm like, Garoppolo? Were you asking me just
so that you do the opposite of what I suggested? Well,
I figured that I would pay attention to what you're
saying with Garoppolo since you'd like him a lot, like yes,
then you're executive producer. Eric Roberts said, you know what,
he was hot yesterday with his fantasy guys. You probably

(01:06:16):
have to go the other way today. So I see
how you are. I went on the advisement of your
executive producer. You know what, you don't know that Jimmy
Garoppolo won't have three touchdowns on the first half either.
That that's true the right for the time being, he's
doing a pretty good job exactly. He's only got any
five yards passing, but it's good enough exactly. So any

(01:06:41):
five yards three scores Philadelphia Leeds New York right now
to twenty. Meanwhile the Bills they're putting it to the
Dolphins one and six. Shandy McCoy ninety two yards total
two teenys. Tara Taylor also a couple of touchdowns in
the ballgame. Ravens Lee the Brown seventeen ten, the one
that we've been looking at all day. Green Bay and
Caroline go and at it. Roger steps back from center

(01:07:02):
and the shotgun looks it over, gets the snaff, looks left,
looks right, scrambles right, Rogers hit as he jumps it
off frightside. Cops plenty fifty ten cuts it back to
the five to the side for the textile rad and
Dolf cob thirty three yard touchdown pass. Premaron Rodgers and
the Packers have taken a bid thirteen to ten a

(01:07:23):
pack radio network that ball games at the half and
it is on Fox screen Bay leading fourteen ten rounded
Cobba Davante Adams each of a fifty seven yards receiving
and also one score. Cardinals and Redskins going at it
from the Nation's Capital. It's at halftime fourteen to nine.
Redskins and the Saints. Also they leave the Jets seventeen ten. Gentlemen,
All right, good stuff, and congrats on folds. Okay, it's

(01:07:46):
not over here. Very happy for you. I hope, I
hope you win tons of Christmas cab No, no, no,
no no. D't get off the hook there, Mark, you
got you got the coin for your fantasy leader. I
haven't done anything yet. Were on a long day head
and we still have next week. Uh, and the fantasy
ticker is coming up in ten minutes and we'll we'll

(01:08:07):
start all that out. But I'm not counting any chickens.
We're live in the Geico Fox Sports Radio studios. Uh. Now,
now what's your what's your fantasy team doing? Now? Coach?
Are you are? We're still and the consolation I looked
in there and I was shocked that I was still
playing somebody. It's kind of hard to get excited about

(01:08:28):
the old consolation bracket. Yeah you you win? Uh, nothing,
absolutely nothing. All right, So we've reached the break of
most of these games. The only game that is playing
at the moment is the Jaguars leading the Texans twenty
one to nothing with a minute to go until the
half and the Jags are facing a fourth and ten
at the Houston twenties, so lining up for a field

(01:08:50):
goal to try to make this twenty four to nothing.
Blake portals today in the first half fifteen of twenty
two six yards, two touchdown throws, no picks. They are
doing this all without Leonard four net coach. Is Blake
Bortles the quarterback for the Jags next year. I'll tell
you what I mean, if they're lucky he is. The

(01:09:11):
way he's playing. I mean, he's been outstanding this season
and especially late. I mean, it's it's uh sounds crazy,
but look, the guy's been good a couple of years ago,
then he had a couple of rotten years and then, uh,
look he's bounced back, he's got his players hurt, and
he's still putting up unbelievable numbers. Look, whatever happened to
Dave's when Houston was number one in the league in defense?

(01:09:33):
What did happen? Hundred nineties six yards for Bortles at
half um. Yeah, I mean, is now on the Jags,
not on the Texas anymore. I don't know how much
that has to do with it, but you're right, you know,
Garoppolo towards the Texans for three d thirty yards last
week in their own building. So I don't know, you know,
there's just so much talk about Eli Manning being let

(01:09:55):
go by the Giants and Tom Cofflin is down there
in Jacksonville, and boy, what a perfect fit that would be.
That's the last piece for the Jaguars. I don't know,
I don't know. It looks like Blake Portals could ruin
this whole thing because he's playing good football, and who knows.
Am I going to the playoffs and do something? Now? Well,
I'll tell you what. If they get in there, they
should do something with a great defense in the running
game that they have. And uh, if if Portals doesn't

(01:10:18):
turn it over, I mean they got a real shot.
No there, while they're in, they're in unless they you know,
I mean nothing right now that that clinches the playoffs
spot for the Jags unless somehow the Texans amount a
massive second half around me and the guy you know
gives Coughin all the credit, Uh, Doug Moron. You know,

(01:10:39):
Doug Maron has done a great job there. Uh. He
was a guy who came from New Orleans. Then he
went into college Buffalo, Bill has hired him. He wins
nine games there, which there's easier things to do than
do that. He did a hell of a job there.
And then they have the the ownership. You know, they
leave a flaw in his contract where he says he

(01:11:00):
just paid me five or you know, five million dollars
and I'll sit on my my tail for a year.
And that's what he did. And then he goes on
he coaches old line for Jacksonville. Now he's the head coach,
and apparently this guy is really good because he's done
a heck of a job with Jacksonville. All Right, the
Browns get a field goal right before the break, so
seventeen to ten, Ravens lead the Browns in Cleveland at

(01:11:21):
half and again to me, uh, even though this is
the Browns and there oh and thirteen, this is the
last realistic chance for the Ravens to lose a football game.
I just have a really hard time, uh, wrapping my
head around the idea that that team is gonna lose
at home. Over the last two weeks, with the Colts
and the Bengals coming into town to offenses that struggle, um,

(01:11:46):
you know, the both of them are probably gonna be
looking for new coaching regimes starting next year. We know,
you know Pagano as well. All three teams are um
all three Oh the Browns to hell. Yeah, there's there's
Jackson is staying. That's great, but he's you know, if
they lose again, they keep losing, I mean, they can't

(01:12:09):
you know how they gonna bring this guy back. But
by the way I said there was only one game
that was still going before the break, I was incorrect.
The Giants and Eagles are still going here before the
break and with a minute to go. Uh, Eli Manning
is running right down the field and in scoring range
again on these Eagles. Uh. The Eagles right now lead
twenty one to twenty. That was a missed extra point

(01:12:30):
by the Giants early in the game. So both teams
have scored three touchdowns already. And uh, it took just
a hot second here for Manning to get the Giants
down into a scoring position again. It almost got picked
off by the Eagles a moment ago in the end zone.
But here comes a third and five play from the
twenty four yard line of Philly for Eli Manning and company.

(01:12:52):
Manning out of the shotgun back to throw has some
time looks over the middle. That's complete for a first down.
I think that was Sterling Shepherd, who's having a huge day.
By the way, Shepherd could be making some fantasy dreams
come true today. Shepherd now has let's see six catches
for one ten yards in a touchdown here in the

(01:13:13):
first half. Next play, Manning looking throws incomplete at the
five yard line. Uh, he was Uh that one was
incomplete looking for his receiver there. So second and ten
Uh coming up for the New York Giants here. I'll
tell you what I had said earlier. The Eagles defense
the rest of the way now with a backup quarterback,
needs to be the best version of itself the rest

(01:13:35):
of the season. They don't look very scary today, Coach, No, man,
they really don't. And and uh, you see that late
substitution always tough to do in a two minute situation.
They were lucky to get away with it. Uh. You know,
some D lineman changing for a D lineman. Those are
best done when they when there's uh the clock's not running.

(01:13:55):
But they got away with it. And uh, and they
got an incompletions, there's a there's a big play. Another
third down coming up again. You know and what they
can afford to do the Giants is throw one of
those short of the sticks third downs that they're famous
for with the old team. They're right, all right, So
there's thirties six seconds on the clock. That was goalman

(01:14:18):
with the reception there that is gonna set up a
third and seven there obviously well within field goal range.
Third and seven from the ten yard line for Manning.
Right now, he's got a couple of receivers to his right,
he's got one to his left. Out of the shotgun
Manning back to pass, he throws for the end zone.
That is incomplete, over the head of Evan Ingram. Incomplete,

(01:14:40):
no flag. So it's gonna be a field goal try
for the Giants and likely back into the lead one
before the break. So we'll get you the update on
that field goal try in just a second with rob
Ryan Mark with the red zone radio. Alright, the field
goal is good for the Giants. Halftime in New York
twenty three, twenty one, Giants lead Eagles, Greg Olson a

(01:15:01):
wide open Packers forgot to cover him, touchdown. Carolina Panthers
eleven and a half to go. Third quarter, Panthers lead
sefteen to fourteen, and it's halftime in Jacksonville. Coach and
the Jacks lead Texas thirty one to nothing, and Blake
Bortles has three touchdown passes and he's over two hundred

(01:15:23):
fifty yards. Yeah, that's uh, that's amazing. That looks like
it looks like, uh, some of those cars must be
running out there in Houston. Get this season over with
and yeah, get onto a new coach and all this stuff,
because that's uh, that's about the effort. They're given thirty
one nothing to anybody in the National Football League at

(01:15:43):
half times inexcusable underway in New Orleans here in the
second half, and the Jets will have the ball first.
They trail the Saints seventeen to nothing. Geico Fox Sports
Radio Studios, Rob Ryan, Mark Willard, and we'll get the
fantasy ticker coming up in just a you meantime. Early
third quarter in Buffalo, and it's twenty one to six.

(01:16:05):
The Bills lead the Dolphins and they are on their
way moving down the field again Tyrod Taylor just incompleting
the end zone moments ago. But the Bills are having
their way with the Dolphins. And it's one of those
great week to week things in the NFL where you
just don't know what you're gonna see. The Dolphins six
days ago took it to the New England Patriots. Uh,

(01:16:25):
And today J Cutler's thrown bad passes all over the
field and the Bills are going right through their defense. Yeah,
but I just had a big fourth down stop, so
maybe they can get going again. But you're exactly right.
So the good teams are consistently good. When they're not
so good, that's when you get the up and downs
and things like that. And and uh, you know, both

(01:16:45):
those teams really Uh, the Bills have played a lot
better than the Dolphins have throughout the year, but both
of them had their moments of inconsistency. And that's where
you know, are are either one of those teams a
playoff team? I don't, Uh, you know, we guess we'll
get ready to find out. But uh, you know what,
it sure looks like Miami has just been too inconsistent

(01:17:07):
to get out of their own way. That's right. So
Miami trailing by double digits today. Remember they have to
go to Kansas City next week. Looks like the Chiefs
have figured out a thing or two. They certainly had
a very big Saturday night win against the Chargers. We
haven't talked much about that. We will coming up in
a few but right now, let's do the fantasy tickers,
shall we? Time for the Fox Sports Fantasy tickers? All right?

(01:17:30):
We're wildly aware that there are fewer and fewer of
you at this time. You're the care about this segment
because there's only a handful that are left in their leagues.
David Gascon is clearly one of them. Uh You, coach,
maybe not so much, but you're still starting a lineup right,
all right, So you stop me when I get to
uh to any of your guys. The top score on

(01:17:50):
the board so far today goes by the name of
Lashawn McCoy. Ten carrey's forty six yards, a touchdown, four
catches forty six yards, and another touchdown. He's up over
twenty five points and they're only early in the third.
Also another running back having a day, Christian McCaffrey, eight
carries forty one yards, six catches for seventy three yards

(01:18:12):
and a touchdown. Who is Keelan Cole? Who him? Yeah? Nobody.
He's a wide receiver for the Jags and he has
six catches for a hundred and thirteen yards at a touchdown.
Flake portals must be good or something. Sterling Shepherd six
catches a hundred ten yards at a touchdown. Here comes
the top quarterback on the board. It's none other than

(01:18:34):
Blake Bortles. Two forty six yards through the year, three
touchdown throws, and here comes another one of his receivers
who we also have never heard of. His name is
Jaden Mickens. So we're Marquis Lee and Deed Westbrook and
all these guys. Jaden Mickens today three catches sixty yards,
two touchdowns for the Jaguars who are just crushing the Texans.

(01:18:57):
Your guy, Tyrod Taylor hundred seventy yards to the air
and a touchdown. Also has four carries thirty three yards
and a touchdown run. Mark Ingram nice Day twelve yards
on the ground, a touchdown, five catches for seventy seven yards.
Cam Newton with a couple of touchdown throws in fifty
four yards rushing rout. Joe Flacco has a touchdown pass
and a touchdown run. He's up over seventeen points. Alvin

(01:19:20):
Kamara five carries twenty five yards for catches forty eight
yards and a touchdown. He is Sedi Eddie Davante Adams
five catches, fifty seven yards and a touchdown, up over
sixteen points. Eli Manning to fifty two, two touchdowns, one pick.
At halftime, he's on paced for over five hundred yards. Coach, Yeah,
he's backup? Did your backup? Brady? Brady? Okay? That that

(01:19:43):
that might go? Okay? I would have made Bradies do Yeah,
I might make that decision. And then Greg Olsen four catches, kiddy,
good job. Now, who just start over Jimmy Graham. I
don't know if I would have made that decision, but
we'll see Graham. You know, he may go crazy later today.
Four catches fifty seven yards in a touchdown. And then
finally Nick Folds, he of the David gascon start today.

(01:20:08):
Nick Foles only has eighty five yards passing at halftime,
but three touchdown throws? Yeah not no three? Uh so
he's up overtast the one time. That's right? You remember
that game? Al good, That's probably Dennis Allen's worst moment
of their days. There's your fantasy football ticker. And if

(01:20:32):
you're listening to this and you even care about fantasy
football at this point congrats because you've made it to
uh at least I would think the semifinals, so, uh, fantastic,
good for you. Uh, Saints about to get the ball back. Um,
Aaron Rodgers just thrown his second interception of the game
to the Panthers. The Panthers leaded seventeen fourteen and now

(01:20:53):
have the ball. Personal foul on the play, however, though,
and this is one of those situations that on the
return where some these defenders kind of seek out offensive
players and go for the big block, and they got
Davante Adams was a little slow getting up and uh,
I had to be taken off of the field. He
walked off under his own power. But they're checking him out.

(01:21:14):
So what's the assessment of Rogers so far? I mean,
they had a couple of picks. You know, he's he's
made a lot of great places, but he's had a
couple underthrown picks. And and uh, you know Davante Adams,
that's the one who was knocked out in that pile
earlier in the year. And then he got he got Yeah,
he just got his his clock cleaned on a block.

(01:21:34):
Looked like Thomas Davis upset about it with himself, because hey,
you know how it is when the guy can't see.
He's trying to get your head in front on the block,
but you hit him in the head and knocked him cold.
So uh, hopefully that young man will be all right,
all right. So the Panthers have good field position to
start this next drive. Already leading by three. There's Greg
Olsen with a one handed catch that'll go for thirteen yards.

(01:21:56):
Once again, he's on your bench. Obviously, he looks a
little healthier, and I thought he was gonna look it
looks fantastic, all right. So the Panthers are back in
Packers territory, already leading by three. We've got a touchdown
for the Arizona Cardinals. Actually, no, check that that's a
field goal. They'll go with a field goal. But they've
got this within two. Now fourteen to twelve. The Redskins

(01:22:17):
lead the Cardinals fourteen to twelve. Underway in the second half.
We're about to see the Saints offense for the first
time in the second half. They lead seventeen to ten.
They're underway in Cleveland. Third quarter. Ravens lead seventeen to
ten and the Ravens have the ball first um and
Miami now has the ball back in Buffalo territory, but

(01:22:38):
trailing twenty one to six, and the Minnesota Bengals game
was never even a game twenty four to nothing. And
in fact, if you're just joining us, the news came
out earlier today. Marv lewis this will be his final
season in Cincinnati. He quote is going to explore other
opportunities next season. And Rob is a guy who's coached
for so many teams. I have a very big question

(01:22:58):
for you coming up about Marv Lewis leaving and the
kind of language that goes out to the media, whether
it's a firing, whether he wants to explore the opportunities
be with his family, like what leads to that? Talk
about that. Next, we got an update for Eagles fans
and Devin Funches, who looked like something very bad had

(01:23:19):
just happened to his shoulder or arm is already back
on the field and the Panthers have a first in
goal at the Packer nine right now, lead this game
seventeen to fourteen. They're looking for more. They've picked off
Aaron Rodgers twice, although that doesn't tell the whole story.
For the most part, Rogers has looked pretty good today.
That is an incomplete pass on first and goal from

(01:23:42):
Cam Newton, bobbled a little bit by Bird on the
back of the end zone stripe and so he's out
of bounds. It'll be second and goal coming up for Carolina. Meantime,
let's take a look at the Eagles. I'll say this.
They trail twenty three to twenty one against the Giants
right now. Big play moments go by al Sean Jeffrey.
That's gonna get them a first down into the red zone.

(01:24:04):
We'll follow that game in just a second, but I'll
say this, coach, you know, for Eagles fans who are
coming out today and I know they're playing the Giants,
but you're worried about the quarterback position. I'm watching Nick
Foles play. Nick Foles can do some things with this team.
This team is far from dead. Yeah, I mean, you know,
they just have to protect them. That's the biggest thing
the Folds is he's not gonna be able to move

(01:24:26):
around like Wins. He's always been able to throw the
football and he's been accurate. So the biggest thing, keep
him upright, keep him protected, and he's gonna be fine. Yeah.
The rest of the team does need to pick their
things their game up though, because these games are getting
ready to count real quick. Yeah, no doubt about it.
And uh this of course allows the Eagles. If they

(01:24:48):
were to win today and the Vikings were to lose,
they would clinch the one seed. The Vikings aren't gonna lose,
so they need this one to keep hope alive of
the one seed. They've got a second and eight from
the twelve right now, handoff straight up the middle is
only going to get about to maybe three yards to
the ten yard line. So you have a third and
five coming up for the Eagles, who trailed by too

(01:25:09):
early third quarter. The Giants have twenty three, the Eagles
have twenty one. That Viking game we just mentioned, Vikings
threatening for more halfway through the third quarter and they
lead the Bengals twenty seven to nothing. And when we
look at those Bengals, we find out earlier today that
Marv lewis uh quote, is going to explore other opportunities. Now,

(01:25:30):
you've been a coach in many different situations. I think
we understand sometimes, Uh, you know, there there's parting of
ways and then there's just firings, like what leads to
that language. Is there some sort of conversation that happens
between a general manager and a coach when they're being
let go? Uh, and the question is asked, like, how
do you want this to get out? Do you want

(01:25:51):
it to be a firing? Do you want this to
be I'm gonna go spend time with family? How does
that go? Well? I mean I've been part of firings
when you know, at different teams and it was always okay,
you're fired. So I was told I was coming back,
you know at one time, and then called and Turks
and cake Ghosts and said no, you're fired. So, uh,

(01:26:15):
I've had some of those. I've never been allowed to
explore opportunities, but uh, I think, uh, I think that's
what I'm doing now, Mark outstanding, but uh uh you
know it's it's uh, I think I think Marvin Lewis
has has earned that. He's done such a great job

(01:26:38):
since and then for a long long time. The Brown
family does a great job. They held they hold onto
coaches longer than any other organization in football, So uh,
you gotta respect that. But you know, allowing him to
explore opportunities is uh, you know, that's that's a good
way to put a guy that's done such a long service,
but he is being moved on and passed on, and

(01:27:00):
I call that being fired. Yeah, that's being fired, right
like mar Lewis, Marv didn't make this call. Marv didn't
call them one. Now, boy, I really want to. I
just want to see other parts of the world or
anything like that right now. And that's uh, you know.
The nice thing about that is usually the way contracts
have been working lately is usually have a year uh
to at least look for other work at think so

(01:27:21):
so it allows you to explore your own opportunities. But
uh uh you know, it's the toughest part of the business.
I know. It's easy to say, well, let's fire this guy,
will be better. We'll fire this guy will be better
and look, hey, you know it works out at some places,
but uh uh usually it takes a year or two
uh to get that coach adjusted to the personnel and things,

(01:27:43):
and then you know, you can see the real impact
that he'll make. But uh, you know, it is part
of the business. It's gonna be a lot of people
moving on and moving up next year, all right. They
overturned that call in the Panther game. So it is
a touchdown in the back of the end zone, and
I gotta tell you, after he lands out of bounds,

(01:28:04):
I don't understand how you can overturn that, especially when
the call on the field was incomplete. That one's crazy
to me. However, Uh, it's a touchdown for the Panthers.
Maybe that'll be a guy that gets fired, the guy
that's been reviewing up there. He's had he's had a
worse year than I have. I'd like him to explore
some other opportunities. Uh, and spend some more time with
his family as well. It's that time of year. So

(01:28:25):
the Panthers leading twenty four to fourteen over the Packers.
Aaron Rodgers is gonna get turned into a big time
passer now because they're down by double digits. The Jets
are threatening right now in New Orleans. It's third and
goal from the eight yard line. Take a look at
this play as Bryce Petty is out of the shotgun.
Two receivers to his right, one to his left. He'll
throw to his left and that's gonna be incomplete looking

(01:28:46):
for Robbie Anderson. So it's gonna be a field goal
try for the Jets here they trail seventeen to ten.
They'll inch a little bit closer. Redskins just gotta field goal.
They're up seventeen to twelve, and the Eagles did stall
but kick a field goal, So they're back in front
of the Giants right now, twenty four to twenty three.
So now Aaron Rodgers is down by double digits. As

(01:29:06):
a defensive coordinator, I've always wondered, how does this change
things when the game scenario calls for it, Like as
a defense, now you know the Packers are really gonna
start to lean away from their run game and become
pass heavy. Does that change what you do? Sure? I
mean you can put in a front that's uh nothing
but teeing off. You know, we call it rush. Were're

(01:29:28):
just gonna rush the guy and uh and you can
tee off that way, you play more coverage or you know,
have your pass rush blitzer. So it kind of extends
third down. You're playing on third down, but uh, it
definitely affects how you're calling the game. Uh, you know,
but it's also four down territory. When anytime you get
a couple of touchdown lead and you're late in the game,

(01:29:50):
teams go for it more on fourth down, so you
can't only just stop him on third. You gotta go
also the fourth fourth down stop. But a lot goes
into it. It definitely, it's it's it's a whole lot
easier to rush the pasture win. There's no threat to run.
Sack fumble for the Ravens, and they turn it into
a touchdown right away recovered in the end zone. Ravens

(01:30:11):
now lead the Browns twenty three to ten, so they're
back up by two scores. They do it with defense,
and Deshaun Kaiser is flat out having a miserable day. Uh.
He is ten of eighteen for sixty eight yards, no touchdowns,
has a pick and that fumble that leads to a
Ravens touchdown. What are the Browns gonna do at the
quarterback position? I mean, it's obvious they'll be at the

(01:30:33):
top of the draft. Uh, they're gonna be looking if
those guys come out, you'd think Donald Rosen. Um, I'm
pretty sure Donald Rosen have no interest in being Browns,
So I have no idea how that may affect their decision.
I wonder about this. Dorsey is now running things with
the Browns. Dorsey is the guy who brought Alex Smith
to Kansas City. I know Alex had a nice night

(01:30:55):
last night, so there's still a story to be told there.
But I know that Kansas City and their fans, if
Alex Smith does not win in the playoffs, they're gonna
look to Patrick Mahomes. That guy was drafted very highly.
So is that a possibility. Is your Cleveland look at
Alex Smith next year? I don't think so. I think

(01:31:15):
you know, they've been uh you know that that would
that would send a message there playing for right now.
I mean, that's definitely what that would send. But but
I think they needed some juice. I think they're they'll
get a new coach. I think they'll get a new
quarterback and uh, and they'll go from there. They've got
the general manager in place. But that general manager also
is one that drafted Mahomes, right, he was part of

(01:31:38):
that team that drafted Mahomes. So, uh, you know, I
think it would be interesting. I think Alex Smith is
a is a winner. I think he's he's proven, you
know that he's done all these great things. We've never
been great in the playoffs, but uh, you know, can
Alex Smith win? Yeah? And I don't think the Browns
organization with the players they have, is nearest dysfunction it

(01:32:00):
all as it's been labeled, like, who do you like there? Well,
I love I love some of the Talentles Garrett, Myles Garrett,
that a bagu from uh from Oklahoma State. They took
the year before. I know, he just got hurt recently,
so he's missed a couple of games. Uh. But those
two guys are are big, big defensive alignment guys that
can play every down. Uh. They've got an offensive line,

(01:32:21):
you know, with Joe Thomas is playing an excellent offensive line.
They've got some skill. Uh. Look every one of these kids.
My son even brought it up that they get the
fastest skill players in football. People don't realize that, but
they do. They look so dysfunctional, you know, because the
kids playing quarterback, he's doing the best she can. He
holds the ball too long. But but that's the thing,

(01:32:43):
I mean, you know, Uh, eventually it's got to all
come together. They've got too much talent that they've had
for over the years. Uh, you know, just piling it on,
kind of like the seventies sixers in basketball. Um. I
was at a Christmas party on Friday night with a
big time Chiefs fan. Aaron Rodgers has just been intercepted again.
Now this was a long pass down the field, but

(01:33:05):
that one has picked off. That is his third interception
of the game. And the Panthers lead by ten and
now have the ball back again in their defense on
Green Base. I was gonna be exhausted because these picks
are now coming fast and furious, and they've been on
the field here for a good stretch. When I was
at a Christmas party on a Friday night with a
big time Chiefs fan, and this is before they beat

(01:33:27):
the Chargers. So sure at that point they were five
and oh then they've lost six of eight. I get it. Um. However,
Alex Smith was coming off back to back good performances
and this Chiefs fan is screaming at me with every
single cocktail he drank that it is time. It is
like the Chiefs fans hate Alex Smith. It is time.

(01:33:48):
And I know everybody always loves the backup quarterback, but
Chiefs fans do not like Alex Smith. Their finer points
for why he even believes Chiefs receivers want to go
to Patrick Mahomes. He believes it's already time. What that
Smith still has one year left on his deal. He's
not a free agent now, so they would need to

(01:34:08):
trade him. What would you do if you were the Chiefs, Like,
what's the line coming up here at the end of
the year, because now it looks like they're gonna win
the a f C West and go to the playoffs?
Does he need to win a certain number of games?
Does he need to go to the Super Bowl? What
would you do? Well? I think I think they're they're
gonna be loving him now because he's gonna be in
the playoffs, win their division, and he gives them their
best chance. He's been playing quarterback all year long, so uh,

(01:34:32):
you know, I I think they get everybody knows he's
on a one year this is it, you know, So
go and see as far as you can take him
and and maybe Alex Smith can finally get it all
the way done and uh and that would you know,
create a heck of a scenario, you know, because if
you win the Souper Bowl, usually you don't have to
change teams unless you're Jimmy Johnson, you know. But the

(01:34:56):
way it's setting up right now, in order to do
that Alex Smith is gonna have to win a road
game in January and either Pittsburgh or New England. And
I don't know how many people have confidence that he
can do that, right, But but you're right, but it
does create a scenario that what if he does, you know,
And it's not like he hasn't beat in New England
before New England this year, right, so you know, you

(01:35:19):
never know, but uh, you know, again, it's gonna be
an interesting point. But I think, uh, obviously the future
there is mahomes And you did bring up a nice
point with Dorsey going to Cleveland. Do they bring Alex
Smith in? That would be shocking to me. But unless
he looked at the roster and thought they look, guys

(01:35:39):
were right here, we could compete for the division, then
maybe they do that. But again, remember this is a
franchise that has passed on wins and Deshaun Watson. You
know too, what everybody looks at it looks like franchise quarterbacks.
They can't make it a third time. Fair point, you know,

(01:36:01):
fair point? All right, let's take a look at Cam
Newton back out on the field. We'll do that just
in a second. H with Rob Ryan Mark Willard Eagles
on the move. They're going into the red zone right now,
may go all the way. It's gonna be first to
go with the five. Will check in on that one

The Saints were inside the ten and Calman fumbled, helmet
on the ball, ball came firing out. Jets, get it,
stay within four. Some tell there's just two minutes to
go in the third quarter and the Jets are hanging
in this game. Coach, Now, that's how you lose to

(01:38:35):
a bad team. Turn the ball over right before half
in your own territory, fumble inside the red zone after
you get a fumble. I mean, that's just it's bad ball.
And meantime, Aaron Rodgers is just running all over the
running all over the field. But just on the fourth
and inches he did a read option and ran for
a first down, and then on first down he scrambles

(01:38:58):
for eleven more. He's got the Ockers in the red zone.
And this is so Aaron Rodgers. He's been picked all
three times today by the Panthers. But the Packers are
down ten and Rogers is in the red zone. And
I'm not counting the Packers out of this football game yet,
not even close. And you know, a couple of those
interceptn that one interception you know it's a double move

(01:39:19):
to sign double move, throw it up to Jordy Nelson
and the kid made a great play, came back and
intercepted it. But Rogers is amazing, he really is. All right,
So the Packers are gonna have the ball at the
ten yard line. It'll be a second and four. UM.
So the Packers are knocking on the door, and we'll
keep you up to date there. What does it mean
when Geico says it's fifteen minutes can save you cent

got it all my brain with Rob Bryan Mark Wellard
Red Zone Radio. UM. Also the Saints after that turnover
they caused the three and out though, so they're gonna
get the ball right back and get it in good

(01:40:01):
field position. What do we have now? The ball Cutlers had.
Absolutely this is one of the worst games and he's
not even competitive. I'm not seeing a quarterback look as
bad as he's looked today all year. Yeah, that I

(01:40:23):
think we had the game of his life last six
days ago. It's the NFL is we didn't even throw
the football. He's patting the ball and drop. Uh. Let's
take a look at Cutler's line today. Meantime, here's a
big play for the Packers, third and four, ten yard line,
down by ten minute and a half to go, third quarter.
Rogers gonna call time out. Didn't like what he saw.

(01:40:44):
Um touchdown for the Jaguars again. Bo Hannon went in
for a second touchdown of the day. How about this
for an You got two carries for two yards and
two touchdowns. The old fullback. That's the old John Coon line.
They're John Coon there in Green Bay. Three kids, three yards,
three touchdowns. They're yeah, they're they're saying, yeah, thirty eight

(01:41:07):
seven Jags lead the Texas. You did that nicely with
accent that yeah. Really high restaurant quality there. Uh so
uh the Eagles, by the way, Nelson Aguilar a couple
of minutes ago got a touchdown there. Back up by
eight thirty one, twenty three Now on the Giants. But
the Giants offense has looked ready for this task today,

(01:41:27):
and we're keeping an eye on them. Drew Brees, how's
the ball back first play is gonna be a throw
to Hill's tight end all the way down to the
thirty two yard line of the Jets. Of the Saints. Uh,
that just took a hot second light backfense. Yeah, they've
been shut down for two quarters, so it's good to
see him finally get something going. Field goal for Baltimore
and they are running away from Cleveland. Now twenty seven

(01:41:49):
to ten, four seconds to go, third quarter, Baltimore up seventeen.
Here's the third and four play now for Aaron Rodgers.
Throws out to the left incomplete through that low that's
on him, but field all will make it a one
score game if Mason Crosby can come out and put
this one through the uprights. Yeah, you gotta take the
point all right. Back to looking at the Saints game

(01:42:10):
right now, they're up seventeen thirteen. Here we are in
first and ten, just outside the thirty Drew Brees is
gonna throw up top for the end zone touchdown Michael Thomas.
That was perfectly done, and it's just a question of
whether or not Thomas got both feet there in the
back of the end zone, and I think that he did.
That was pretty Yeah, that's that's a play they love

(01:42:30):
out of that big personnel, the two tight ends set.
They love throwing shots out of that formation, and Bruise
and Breezes just bruised him with that shot right there
on the post. So Thomas now has a nice day
going with five catches for seventy yards in a score.
Here's another look at it for us as uh Drew
Brees is under center on this play with all the

(01:42:54):
tight ends and tackles and everybody bunched there on the
right side, and uh Thomas double coverage just splits right
in between them and breathe with an absolutely perfect throw
in the back of the end zone. So the Saints
now take a twenty four lead. I still want to
see a SloMo with those feet in the back of
the end zone, though coach Thomas has already had one

(01:43:14):
taken away from him today. Where's our SloMo? Look at
Thomas's feet again. Yeah, I don't know. I think, uh,
I know he's playing to get your son, and yeah,
here we go. Let's take a here we go, catch
one ft. Wait a minute, bring it back, bring it

(01:43:37):
back in my right, on my right, when you're right,
you're right, bring it back. Here is the that other
foot is up and he's out. He's out, he's out,
his toes out of bounds, and that's what they're looking at. Now.

(01:43:58):
They might give it to him because it's a Saints
and Shaan's on that official committee or whatever. Look at breezes.
They've won a couple of games. There's some that officiate.
Maybe we'll get this one too. This is actually hilarious
calling the fields touchdown. This is the second Michael Thomas
that we've seen today where everybody celebrates and goes to

(01:44:19):
the sideline and at full speed. It looked like a touchdown.
Uh And I mean he has been a hair away
on both of them. Now, they haven't overturned this one yet,
but I certainly would. Oh yeah, there's no question. Remember
this is they've had the the intentional grounding game against Washington,
which was clearly not the right call. They had another

(01:44:40):
one earlier in the year, and now you know, if
they get this call, holy cow, I mean, that's just
not right. He's out, he's out. There's also a review
going on in New York. There was a touchdown with
regard to or at least yeah close to it. Here
comes the call in New Orleans, let's see it. The

(01:45:04):
ruling on the field stands. No call is overturned, Michael Thomas,
it is an incomplete pass. That is this the second
tap the toe? You gotta get that toe cap, I
mean easy for us that he probably just forget. He

(01:45:26):
just run through it. Yeah, yeah, all right. So what
are we looking at here in New York? A dive
for the end zone? Now, that looks to me that
that's too hard to even explain. There's a lot going on.
Mary dives for the pie. It's got an elbow that
lands out of bounds with the ball across first. I
don't know. Call on the field was a touchdown though,

(01:45:48):
Um so if this were to stand, it's suddenly thirty
one to twenty nine in favor of the Eagles, potentially
a two point conversion try coming. But this is under
review and they're gonna call out a touchdown, So that
one is gonna stand. A minute minute fifty seven to go,
third quarter, thirty one twenty nine Giants will go for

(01:46:10):
two Giants seven scoredition. But he points in three years, wow,
since the fourth quarter in Philadelphia, you know, nine weeks ago.
All right, So let's take a look at the two
point conversion here and then we'll get gas on in here.
Uh to uh to update everything. This is to tie
the game in New York, Manning out of the shotgun,
steps up in the pocket, pocket collapses down, he goes

(01:46:33):
Eagles lead thirty one twenty nine. Let's get gas on
in here, full scoreboard day. Kind of like biting my
fingernails right now with what's going on everywhere. They had
Nick Foles in that game nineteen to twenty nine for
eighty six yards and four touchdown passes. But the Giants
still as you mentioned within two ball games on Fox
thirty one to twenty nine and checked that out. Redskins
leading the Cardinals by two right now seventeen fifteen. Jets

(01:46:56):
and Sants have been going back and forth. Right now,
New Orleans leads seventeen eighteen. And the Mighty Jaguars, they're
just opening up a can right now in the Texans
first and go from the nine three right, Martadies Lewis
alone to the left dot gun for barrels. He dropped
the throw looking pump, fake throwing back in the end
zone clot for the touchdown by Klan Home Jaguars Radio Network,

(01:47:17):
thirty eight to seven Blake Bortles three yards passing and
also three t d s. Carolina leading the Packers seventeen.
Aaron Rodgers and his return three three I and T
s and that is it right now. As Cam Newton's
got three touchdowns in the affair as well, Tyrod Taylor
a couple of touchdowns. Shady mccoynth to of his own.
Buffalo leading Miami twenty four to six, and the Cleveland

(01:47:38):
Browns they're gonna go to Owen fourteen. We just gotta
wait in fourteen minutes, fellas. Yeah, normally you could just
say that at the beginning, we just need to wait
sixty minutes open kickoff. That Baltimore leaving Cleveland right now
seven to ten in the middle of sot of Vikings.
They have really stalled the Bengals offensive attack. Joe Mixing

(01:48:01):
not playing today, but Minnesota a big thirty four to
nothing case, Keenum two touch John's Eric Kendricks, a linemacker
for Minnesota, has a pick six and also at three
tackles in the ball game, Hey and Dalton has been
sacked a handful of times as well. That game's got
thirt team Mets remaining. It had been Minnesota's increuse control
from there on out. Absolutely good stuff, Dave Um. That

(01:48:23):
was a Kyle Rudolph touchdown catch recently there in Minnesota
that has them up thirty four. Nothing was it you
that said to me a couple of weeks ago in
the NFL, no one should ever get shut out? Right, No,
it's almost impossible to get you. And I think it's
amazing coming from a defensive coordinator like that. Ship what
what what does that mean? If somebody gets shut out,
then you would say, what about whatever they did offensively? Well?

(01:48:45):
I made. It's just it's offensively special teams everything. I mean,
it's just it's really hard to do in in uh
pro football. It's you can see it in college whatever.
You know, a team's completely got all the scholarship guys
going to get into a bunch of walk on But
that doesn't happen in the NFL. And it's really difficult
to get a to get a shut out. You don't

(01:49:06):
see him very often. But right now, Minnesota, as great
as they're playing on defense, playing Cincinnati, a team that
doesn't look like they care at all. Uh, that's how
you lose two bad teams. There's a first down conversion
by the Saints after you got the overturn touchdown, was
gonna be a first down conversion. And it's a fumble.

(01:49:27):
And it's the same receiver Coleman who just fumbled about
five minutes ago. That's two red zone fumbles in four minutes.
I mean, we probably won't see him again in this game,
will we I think Willie Sneet is officially gonna be
out of the doghouse and Coleman officially put in it
because Sneed hadn't played all year. I mean, that's just
taking points off the board. No, that's a metal. You

(01:49:50):
gotta protect the football here. This you know, that's just terrible.
Bus for screen makes a nice play, but Coleman carrying
it loose to two times in a row. Yeah, so
this answer going to turn it over again and continue
to lead by only four points. And it's like we
watched this game and sitting here and you kind of
laugh at it. I mean, the Jets are one good
drive from really shaking up the NFC playoff picture here

(01:50:13):
because the Saints have got to win this game, right,
I mean it should be. You can't have this. You
got a backup quarterback who's playing like a backup like
and and uh, you know, but they're just sticking around.
They're annoyingly sticking around. And again that's how bad teams
be good teams. And uh, over there and uh, Miami's

(01:50:34):
just you got a bad looking squad going on. Right there.
Jake Cutler is struggle. He can't catch the snap, you know,
completely does it look like he even wants to play?
She got to put somebody else in. Yeah. So the
Bills just had a little goal line stand there. But
they're already well, they have this one, uh completely under control.
But after the play, Uh, there was some sort of

(01:50:57):
celebration penalty on the Bills. That's gonna give them Miami
Dolphins a first down, so they gets to start over
fresh set of downs, first and goal there. Meantime, Panthers
into the red zone second and five right at the
twenty yard line for Cam Newton and company. Lead by seven,
five to go in the game. Here's a design run
for Cam. He's gonna lose three yards. Um. So this

(01:51:18):
is uh, the Panthers already in field goal range. Uh,
and the opportunity to go back up by double digits
as long as nothing crazy happens here. Um. But the
Packers hanging around despite the tough day. From Aaron Rodgers
Red Zone Radio. So glad you're with us. Love has
an army. You can join the fight. Help the Salvation
Army fight for those in need all over our community

(01:51:39):
this Christmas by going to Fox Sports Radio dot com
clicking the red kettle Icona donator called one eight three
three style joint. You're talking about the Dolphins again here
right second and goal, Jay Cutler this time, Oh gosh,
you just threw it right in the midst of Julius
Thomas and he dropped it. I mean, this is like
six plays down at the one yard line for the

(01:51:59):
Dolphin as they haven't gotten in yet. You're enjoying this
game because it's just like it's like some you know,
first of all, why are you an empty formation when
you can run the ball the way they do. You know,
it's like, just run it in my god, quit throwing
it because you can't even catch a snap. Um. Meantime,

(01:52:19):
the Panthers convert on that third down and seven, so
they've now got a first in ten at the Packer
thirteen yard line. We'll watch this one again. The Panthers
lead Green Bay to seventeen first in ten thirteen yard line.
Newton is out of the shotgun. He's got McCaffrey to
his left um and he will throw over the middle

(01:52:41):
and that's a touchdown. And that was incredibly easy. And
that was Bird who gets his second touchdown catch of
the game. Uh. And now the Packers are really in
a difficult situation. They're gonna be down by fourteen points
with about twelve minutes ago. Yeah, it's gonna be tough,
but they do have Rogers and he can bring anybody back.
They do. Although, of course, as we've did, he does
not look quite like I'm sorry, he definitely does look rusty.

(01:53:03):
The question of whether or not he's not scared of
the contact. Just had a couple throws it. I'm sure
he'd went back. A big third down coming up here
for Nick Foles in a moment. The Eagles are in Giants,
I'm sorry, in their own territory, third and seven coming up.
And this game, which has been close throughout, has really

(01:53:23):
tightened back up with that recent Giants touchdown. It is
thirty one to twenty nine. The Eagles lead the Giants
minute fifteen to go third quarter and a third and
seven coming up in their own territory. If they're unable
to convert here, Giants are gonna get the ball back.
They should have decent field position, and we'll have the opportunity,
uh in the fourth quarter to go down and potentially

(01:53:45):
take the lead. So let's take a look at this play.
A third and seven from their own thirty four yard line,
pulls out of the shotgun, is back to throw, steps
up in the pocket and throws incomplete. Yeah, that was
a little off balance look for Art's and threw a
little high off of Art's hands incomplete. Eagles will kick

(01:54:05):
Giants about to get the ball back high end behind
the receivers. That's not what you're looking for. And he
kind of pushes it here. Yeah, well he did, like
he he almost pump faked himself like he did. And
and yeah, Hurt's had no chance on that one. So
Giant's gonna get the ball back. We'll take a look
at a moment on Fox Sports Radio. All right, back

(01:54:26):
to back catches for Michael Thomas, and the Saints are
back in scoring position. Thomas is allowed to keep the
catches as long as they're not in the end zone.
If he catches into the end zone of done't count,
but outside of that he's allowed to keep it. Here
goes mark Ingram up the middle. There's a nice seven
yard gain. Gotta get the Saints inside the red zone.

(01:54:47):
Second down in short coming up. They lead this one
seventeen thirteen. They've found all kinds of new ways to
not be leading by more in this game. How what
do you think Peyton is doing on the sideline right now?
This this is the type of game that you know,
scares the heck at it when you know you're so
much better than the team they're playing against and they
keep turning the ball over in the red zone and

(01:55:09):
student scoring points. But I had to calm down here
they score a touchdown here and put this thing on ice,
all right. There's Breeze looking over the middle and he's
got Thomas again. That's gonna be a first down and
get him to the eight yard line. So first in
goal coming up, and the Saints lead it seventeen to thirteen.
What's really interesting in this game is you know mark

(01:55:30):
Ingram was gashing the Jets early the run game as
usual with the Saints comes out of the box looking
really good, and whether it was just not being able
to convert first downs or whatever. They got away from
it somehow, and uh, you know, they've been passing the
ball and turning the ball over in the red zone
and Drew Brees got picked, Coleman has fumbled twice. They

(01:55:50):
got to get those backs back involved. No, absolutely, I mean,
that's that's the thing I think. You know, it was
so easy for him so early, but they had they
had a couple of quarters there. They weren't in anything.
But again, when you abandoned a running game and you're
getting six seven yards and carry, you know, doesn't make
any sense. And there goes Kamara on the first and
goal from the nine. He picks up five down to

(01:56:10):
the four. However, there is a flag down on the play.
Look like a post possession call. This might be an
offset or this looks like a couple of guys shoving in,
uh getting in on each other. But uh, we'll see,
we'll see. Some of the Jets are saying it's on
the Saints and the other Jets are uh slapping their
helmet like, whoops, I gotta think better. Uh. So the

(01:56:33):
officials are discussing this one, and man, if this knocks
the Saints back fifteen yards. This is another red zone gaff. Yeah,
to be interesting. See how they call it. Like you said,
there's been so many. It's on personal foul on the Jets,
unnecessary roughness. So that's gonna be Take the Kamara run

(01:56:53):
plus two more yards half the distance to the goal. Yeah,
that was a post possession shove by one of the
Jets defenders. Yeah, and on. On the neighboring game over there,
Miami is single handedly keeping Buffaloes drives alive with dumb penalties.
Third and thirteen hands to face. Then they got another penalty,

(01:57:14):
and it's just unbelievable. Fourth and five for Rogers and company.
Inside the Panthers forty Rogers looks like he wants to
run for this. Nope, he's got Cob open. That's a
catch first down, so the Packers stay alive. Indeed, it
is first in goal for the Saints from the two
Briezel handed Kamara. He's bouncing it out to the outside.
There's not much there. He's gonna push and shove and
get back to the three yard line anyway. But that's

(01:57:36):
a loss of a yard, setting up second and goal.
Saints obviously need to get points here, and it would
be very comfortable for them if it could be a touchdown,
and they get back to a two score lead, only
leading the Jets seventeen to thirteen. Meantime, before we get
to the second down play there, we're also watching the
Giants and the Eagles, which has been a great game.

(01:57:56):
The Giants are down by two thirteen and a half
to go, but they've got the ball in Eagles territory
with a first down at the thirty three. Eli Manning
has looked good all day, continues here in the fourth quarter,
so they're looking to take the lead. All right. Here
comes the second and goal ingram in for Kamara. Now,
but Breeze will throw and that's a Michael Thomas touchdown

(01:58:19):
and that one's gonna count. Okay, that's the ball handling
here down here with Eli on this pitch. Okay, talk
about off and that is eight yards off about ten yards. Yeah, yeah,
that's that's a good great play by the Saints, great design.
All right, So the Saints are in it's twenty three
to thirteen with seven thirty nine to go, and they're

(01:58:40):
back up by two scores. Here comes now a second
and nineteen for the Giants. Now they're all the way
back at the Eagle forty two. Even a field goal
here gives them the lead. Swing route not gonna gain much,
maybe a yard to the forty one, so it'll be
third and eighteen. But if the Giants can even get
like six or seven and yards on this third down,

(01:59:01):
that would put them in field goal position. And they're
down by just two. They were kind of in that
field goal position, but they've r in that odd looking
toss play for minus ston. That's a that's a bad
looking play. But here they got a bunch back, so
now they'll get the long field goal. All right. So
they're gonna be short of the first down, but they

(01:59:22):
are close enough to try a field goal, which puts
them back into the lead again. Who would really benefit
from a Giant's win here today would be the Minnesota Vikings,
who are crushing Cincinnati and Minnesota leading thirty four to seven.
There would even up the Eagles with eleven and three records.
If the Eagles were to stumble today against the New

(01:59:43):
York Giants, and uh yeah, obviously home field advantage throughout
the playoffs is what's at staking would be crazy. I mean,
it's never happened in the history of the league, so
uh yeah, obviously would be a huge, huge deal for
for them. However, the field goal is blocked blocked by
the Eagles, rolls down to the end zone uh and

(02:00:03):
meekly sits there and the Eagles will continue to lead
this one by a score of thirty one to twenty nine.
All Right, the Packers now in a tough spot to
go down thirty one seventeen and because of some negative
plays are now facing a fourth and fourteen from the

(02:00:23):
thirty yard line. I guess not enough of a reason
to even try a field goal in this position under
six minutes to go in the game, so they're gonna
go for it, but there's a time out on the field.
So we'll check back in on that one. Uh in
a little bit. We haven't mentioned Jacksonville and Houston in
a while. That's because both of those teams have just
gone into cruise control Jags all over the Texans today.

(02:00:45):
Thirty eight seven is to score. They're same thing with
Baltimore and Cleveland. Cleveland is on its way to another loss.
Ravens lead twenty seven to ten. Uh. There is one
other interesting game that's close, uh, and that is the
Redskins leading the Cardinals twenty fteen. Uh, and right now
they are late in this game two and a half ago.
But the Redskins have the lead in the ball, but

(02:01:06):
they're deep in their own territory. If the Cardinals can
get it back in theory, Blaine Gabbert will have an
opportunity to try to go win this game. Uh. That's
another team that has won too many games to really
be involved in the discussion about the top of the
draft board. But really wonder what happens next year in Arizona.
Not sure if Bruce Arians is coming back. I'm not

(02:01:27):
sure if Carson Palmer is coming back. Definitely a spot
where they're going to be looking to do something at
the quarterback position, right I would I would think those
uh you know, uh, the Arians probably gonna be exploring opportunities,
you know, uh to do other things. But you know,
because he's spend some more time with his family, you

(02:01:48):
know he's got the health issues if you know he does,
and you know, here's the thing, He's he's been an
excellent football coach, but with his personality, I mean, he
he could be probably you know, making the same amount
of living, you know, doing games or whatever. Does have
the big personality, but also Palmer's about forty years old,

(02:02:08):
so I mean, I think that's when that's gonna draft
some young quarterback and and uh, you know, it'll be
interestingly what they do in the offseason. All right, Miami
Dolphins are still technically alive in this game. Uh, second
and ten for them, and they've got about eight yards there,
so it'll be third and shortcoming up there at their
own thirty five four minutes to go. They still trail
by eleven, but a touchdown two point conversion in the

(02:02:30):
field goal is enough here. So Jay Cutler is in
the hurry up. Uh. And you know, even though he
has had an absolutely horrible day. Um, all right, here
comes the Green Bay fourth and fourteen play again to
reset that game. The Panthers are up by two touchdowns.
Rogers has been picked three times today to go in

(02:02:51):
this game at a fourth and fourteen at the Panthers thirty,
So they need a lot on this play or else.
This one is pretty much done. Rogers out of the shotgun,
is back to pass. There's pressure, he's gonna be sacked.
He goes down at the forty and that's probably a
route for the game. Panthers will take over, leading by
two scores and just five minutes left to go. Yeah,

(02:03:13):
Pepper's Hall of Famer got him, so I think he's
had a couple in that last series, so he gets
them here. Roger says, absolutely no chance. Ye, Rogers did
not have much time there, and uh, in the final analysis,
this is gonna end up being a really tough day
for Aaron Rodgers. He comes back, he does look a
little rusty. His legs, as you said, look good, but

(02:03:35):
he did not look like he had the pinpoint accuracy
normally does and obviously intercepted three times by the Panther.
Date right, Well, I mean, I mean he gave it
everything he had. Obviously, it's uh the Carolina you gotta
give him. Yeah, this is the defense, huge win for them.
We continue into our final hour here in week fifteen. Next, well,

(02:03:55):
I'll tell you why. There's no playoff implications in the game,
but it's still fun. The Arizona the Cardinals down five
with thirty seven seconds, have the ball the Redskins twenty
one cavert over the middle. Let's say complete Goshi had
his tight end at the one yard line. He couldn't
hang on Nicholas lets it go, but the Cardinals are threatening.
And again the score in this one is Redskins twenty

(02:04:18):
Cardinals fifteen. Cardinals haven't been in the end zone all day.
But if they are here, uh, they can walk out
of here with a win. Meantime, Eagles lead by two
in New York and Nelson Aguilar just with a nice
catch moment to go to set up the Eagles at
first in goal. A touchdown here can really go a

(02:04:39):
long way and give them, uh some comfort and go
up by two scores. Aaron Rodgers is on the field
for the Packers, but they're gonna need a miracle. Four
minutes they're down by fourteen, having in their own territory.
Uh so right now Rogers and the Packers looking and
maybe just get some points on the board. And this
uh pretty much looks like the end of their season.

(02:05:00):
They're gonna bow out of the playoff chase here today, coach, right, Yeah,
they they got out class today by the Carolina defense.
And and uh, you know, Rogers a competitor, he is,
He's still in there and he has taken unbelievable punishment. Yeah,
so uh hopefully comes out of it all right. Um,
The Saints have the ball and an eleven point lead

(02:05:21):
with four twenty four, So even though they've been a
little wobbly today, they're in good shape. We're coming to
a live Geico Fox Sports Radio Studios. Fifteen minutes could
save a fifteen cent a more on car insurance Geico
dot com for a free rate quote. Alright, fourth and
ten is coming up for the Cardinals right now as
we speak. Um. Also, we're taking a look at the

(02:05:44):
Eagles and Giants as it's a first and or second
and goal situation for the Eagles. Uh, here come the
Packers now they are going to move the ball into
Carolina territory. Rogers with a nice uh completion to his
tight end there, and so there is still that possibility
of a score the on side kick. We won't call

(02:06:06):
the Packers done yet. Here's the fourth and tent play
for the Cardinals. Gabbert back to pass throws and that
is incomplete, looking for Larry Fitzgerald and Fitzgerald is taking
a little while to get up. He took a big
hit on that one. But the Redskins will survive and
win this game twenty to fifteen. Here's Aaron Rodgers first

(02:06:26):
down pass out into the flat. That's good to Randall Cobb.
That'll get the Packers down to the twenty seven. Still
three and a half to go there. We're looking at
a second and twenty three for the Saints. They're just
trying to run some clock here. And indeed they'll give
to Kamara on that one. He'll gain too and uh
and keep the clock moving. But let's go to the
Giants game. This is the one right now that has

(02:06:48):
the most on the line, and is that the most
leverage situation? Coach second and goal for the Eagles. Uh.
Nick Foles has looked very good today. Yeah, I mean, shoot,
he's already thrown four touchdown passes, so I don't know.
I mean, that's a lot of touchdown pass is not
gonna going from the twelve throws out into the flat,
that's not gonna do much. That will actually lose a

(02:07:10):
yard uh and set up third and goal. But a
lot of people wondering what Nick Foles would have uh
to to bring to the fold. Here here's the numbers
for folds two thirty six for two hundred twenty seven
yards and four touchdown throws. That's the day to day
and he's knocking on the door again right now as

(02:07:31):
we speak. Um, So this is a big third down
play coming up. If the Giants can hold the Eagles
to a field goal, still very much in this game.
If not, if the Eagles can get into the end zone,
are they pretty much have the Giants in a desperate
situation under five minutes to go. So here's the play
from the twelve yard line. Third and goal falls back
to pass. Now he's gonna flushed out of the pocket.

(02:07:54):
He'll throw complete at the two, but it'll stop right
there to Tory Smith. So the Giants will set up
fourth and goal from the two yard line. Peterson is
a gambler. But are you putting the field goal on
the board. Yeah, alright, touchdown, Packers, touchdown, Packers, Rogers to Rogers,

(02:08:15):
and so you've got a thirty one to twenty three
game extra point on the way to forty three to go.
The Packers have used all of their time outs already, though,
so there's no thought of kicking the ball deep. They're
gonna have to go for the on side. There's a
flag on the field, but Rogers does not seem to
have any feeling that that flag is on Green Bay.
And Ron Rivera screaming at the wraps. So I have

(02:08:35):
a feeling that's gonna be on Carolina. Indeed, the Eagles
do put three on the board. They lead thirty four,
Eli Manning and Company about to get the ball back.
So we're looking at We're looking at the Carolina situation
and waiting still for a call on that flag. Um,
I think they actually just waved it off and picked

(02:08:55):
it up. So here comes the extra point from Mason Crosby.
That one is up and it is good. So we
do have a seven point game to forty three to
go Carolina one, green Bay twenty four on side kick coming. Hey,
we've seen miracles from Aaron Rodgers in Green Bay before.
Another touchdown for Jacksonville as they are pouring it on today.

(02:09:17):
This one goes to uh Corey Grant. Um. Jacksonville's touchdowns
today have all come from the guys that nobody's heard of.
I mean, you've got Chris Ivory running around out there.
We know d D Westbrook, Marky's Lee. They've got forty
five points on the board right now. This is who
scored for them today. Corey Grant has a touchdown run

(02:09:41):
Um Tommy Bohannon. Their fullback has two touchdown runs. H
Cole has a touchdown catch, and Mickens has two touchdown catches.
That's what Blake Portles did today in a blowout victory. Yeah,
I mean unbelievable. This guy's been on a roll. And
look that team is red hot. They are red hot

(02:10:01):
going into the playoffs. And if they get their guys
back to them, mean that's they're gonna get for net back.
They're gonna get the receiver back. Uh man, They're they're
a team people. Nobody's gonna want to play. I don't
think on third and seven the Jets are able to convert,
so they will keep the ball again. They're still down
by eleven. The Packers got the ball on the on

(02:10:23):
side kick here you go here, and we were counting
them out. Why not just throw the hail Mary? Now
you know it will work. I mean, the Packers is unbelievable.
Was that Christian McCaffrey who was out there on the
hands team that dropped it. That was Christian McCaffrey who
had the shot. He's having a huge day, but McCaffrey

(02:10:44):
is the one who had the shot. The ball was
kicking right out and from Crosby, great on sidekick and
well that was a tough one. Sideways bounced bounces off McCaffrey. Packers,
get it, don't go away. We got a football game
there in Carolina for sure. Uh um meantime. Uh the
New York Giants coming out onto the field. They'll have

(02:11:04):
three fifty six to go as they trail thirty four
to twenty nine, and they can really throw a wrench
into the NFC picture if they can do something with
this drive on Fox Coach Seattle hosting the Rams. This
one is under way, and what are you expecting in
this one today? I'll tell you what I like. I
like the Rams here. I think, look, Seattle has been

(02:11:25):
doing a heck of a job with their stars being
out on defense, but I think the Rams will end
up being too much for him. Uh, you know and push.
It's a huge game for the Rams. They have to
have it. I know Seattle does too, but I think
that that was a big loss that they had last
week Jacksonville. So I I think the Rams are gonna
take this one. I think this is one where the

(02:11:46):
Rams not only needed for the obvious nature of you know,
getting themselves the division championship and winning the game and
all of that. But to your point, they've now lost
to the Eagles, they lost to the Minnesota Vikings, they
already lost to Seattle, or later this year if they
lose the Seattle again, it kind of feels like that
team that's really good. But what kind of confidence will
they have in January? Uh, these are the teams they're

(02:12:08):
gonna have to beat, and they've played a lot of
them in the regular season and they haven't been able
to get over the top. Right, I mean that's that's uh,
they need they need a big win. Remember that they
had that He had that big win against Dallas in Dallas.
This would be the same one. I think it would
lift the entire team and get him going again and
get him on the hot hand before they get into
the playoffs. Rams have the ball, by the way early

(02:12:30):
in this game in Seattle territory. Um, I think that,
uh the Yeah. Indeed, the Seahawks lost a fumble on
their opening drive, so the Rams get it in Seattle
territory on their opening drive. We'll keep an eye on that.
Green Bay does have the ball that at the two
minute warning, and Rogers is suddenly he's got it on
the move. Uh he's found his groove. You know, in

(02:12:52):
the first half the ball was just a little bit
off here and there, but uh, he's found his groove.
And all of a sudden, Carolina was in cruise control
of thirteen with four and a half to go, and uh, poof,
Now these suddenly got a football game. So we'll keep
an eye there. Here's Jared Goff in the scoring position
in Seattle. He's gonna throw that one incomplete and out

(02:13:12):
of bounds. A third and long coming up there. We
also keep an eye on the Giants and Eagles with
Eli Manning just got away with one almost intercepted moments ago,
which would have ended well, not ended the game, but
it certainly would have been big three forties. Still in
that game, Giants down five, have the ball second and
ten at their own twenty five, So we'll keep an

(02:13:32):
eye on this drive. Eli Manning not changing the play here.
This has been a great game all day Both offenses
have been better than the defenses all day long. Here's
Manning out of the shotgun with time throws and complete
at midfield. Flag down. Not sure who they're gonna call
that on, whether it's a hold on the defense or

(02:13:54):
a push off on the offense. So we'll wait for
the flag and get the thought here. But if this
will stay on, the Giants have it first down and
it is, I'll hold on the Eagles, So decline that
Giants are gonna have a first down at midfield. We
got a lot of drives with a lot on the
line coming up in just a moment. Will bring all
of it to you to stay where you are. This
is red Zone Radio on Fox Sports Radio. I'll tell

(02:14:18):
you what. So maybe you do still want Blake Bortles
in Jacksonville, But I think Eli Manning's got something left too.
First in goal and that'll be thrown out into the flat.
It'll lose a yard. But second and goal coming up
with the Giants. That's what's left. As far as drama
and the early session meantime, mark Ingram is gonna bust

(02:14:40):
a garbage time touchdown for the Saints minute and a
half to go in the game. Wait a minute, the
Jets had no time out. Why aren't they even just
in the victory formation? That was weird doing that. Able
to run the ball all day, so they needed a touchdown. Boys,
somebody's fantasy team is going to really enjoy that um

(02:15:04):
fifty yard touchdown run for mark Ingram and the Saints
have put the finish. That was a good good That
was a good little thirty seconds there. Uh, Saints are
gonna win this one and survived the Jets and the
Panthers do survive the Packers, and man, they snuck out

(02:15:25):
of here because the Packers got the onside kick and
Rogers had his team on the move and a first
down completion into the red zone and his receiver fumbled
it after making the catch. The Panthers recover and survive today. No,
it's unbelievable. Man, talk about a great game to watch
back and forth all all day and and what a

(02:15:46):
great play about the corner. You know Captain Munderland, who's
who's really one of their top defensive players, and captain
they reduced his role he was unhappy about until they
just made him inactive. I mean, that's sometimes what you
gotta do to shake the team. Have we gotta remind
these guys that no one's more important than the team.
Third and goal for the Giants there at the eleven
yard line. They trailed by five fifty four seconds left.

(02:16:09):
They're gonna hand the ball off and they get five
yards to the six yard line. That's kind of an
interesting call. It's a defensive head coach. You're playing for
their last shot, so they don't want to get back
out there because he's already giving up thirty four points.
So we're gonna try it right here, trying to win
the game. And that's it. No, nobody gets another shot,

(02:16:30):
but the Eagles have a time out, so they stop
the clock. Anyway. I'll tell you what, coach, I don't
like it. I mean what you're doing. Yeah, you got
two shots at the end zone. They basically condensed it
and said, let's give ourselves one shot at the end zone.
I mean, all right, they're down by five. Here we go.
It's gonna be fourth down from the five yard line.
The Giants are gonna get one play to see if

(02:16:53):
they can derail the Eagles shots at home field advantage
throughout the playoffs. The Eagles don't clinch that with a
win here, but uh, there'll be one step closer and
stay a game ahead of the Vikings who beat the
Bengals today. Don't throw it short. Yeah, here's the Eli
manning out of the shotgun, and you get a false start.
So congratulations, you go right back to where you were

(02:17:15):
before that run on third down. That's what I'm talking about, coach.
There's no Yeah, there's just no reason to do that. Um,
all right. So now they get one play from the
eleven yard line. Rams already leading the Seahawks three to nothing.
Jared Golf has the ball in Seattle territory. Again. Rams
have been the aggressor early on in that game. Uh,

(02:17:38):
Todd Gurley takes it to the thirty one yard line.
Keep you up to date on that. But let's go
back to New York. Here we go forty eight seconds, Eagles,
no time out. So that's what they're dealing with. If
the Giants score. Here, one play from the eleven yard line,
Manning out of the shotgun, low snap, but he's got
it back to pass throws for the end zone and
it is incomplete over everybody's head, and Evan and gam

(02:18:00):
is screaming for a penalty. And I'll tell you what
the officials see here. There absolutely should have been in
a penalty except that ball was over everybody's head. I
don't think it was catchable, Yeah, may not have. They're
not gonna call that. You gotta let them play this
last one. It's a rookie receiver and at the end
of the day, hey, you gotta you gotta execute. It's
not a foul, and it's that's hand checking. That's it's

(02:18:22):
not a foul at all, you know. Plus he needs
to be about nine ft. Yeah, Brandon Graham the defender
on the play that we're talking about, and there was
some contact um but again the ball well over everybody's head.
And so the Eagles are going to survive and win
this one, thirty four to twenty nine, and they will

(02:18:42):
move their record to twelve and two and continue to
be in the one slot in the NFC. Nick Foles today,
four touchdown throws. I would think if it wasn't Philadelphia,
I would think this game really calmed people down today.
But it's Philadelphia, so it won't. But I mean, don't
you when you come out of this game and go, okay,

(02:19:03):
like this team, this team still can do some things
in the playoffs. This is a road, come from behind,
hard fought win in your backup quarterback, didn't turn the
ball over and got four touchdown passes, be all all
excited about it. I mean, that's uh, that's as good
as you're gonna get right there from the backup quarterback. Now,
the rest of the team's got to pick it up, uh,

(02:19:24):
you know, to to uh you know, to do their thing.
I mean, that's that's what they gotta do, all right. So, uh,
that one, they're gonna try to just run the clock
out there on the field, shaking hands in New Orleans.
The Saints survived, and they win it by a final
score that's closer to what people have expected. By the way,
will you do me a favorite, Eric, what was the
what was the spread in the Saints Jets game? I'd

(02:19:47):
be really interested to know what was it? Sixteen and
a half? Okay, so that did not change the number there.
But I mean that's the kind of play that you know,
that's the advertisement for don't gamble when stuff like that happens.
But it looks like the Jets still, uh stay within
striking distance there. But going back to the Eagles, so
now they're twelve and two and they go home for

(02:20:09):
the rest of the season. They got two home games
with the Raiders and the Cowboys come into town. I
like their chances to win both of those games. I
like their chances to be the one seed coach. Yeah,
I mean that'll uh, it'll be interesting see what Dallas does.
You know, Dallas, you know they're trying to get in
that playoff picture as well. Uh you know they play

(02:20:29):
without Elliott today and then they've got a couple of
games with them. So yeah, it'll be interesting see what
happens on on that. But Eagles look good. I mean,
you know, their defense didn't look that great, but hey,
gives him something to refocus on get that defense pointing
better for next week. Giants did have all their time outs,
by the way, so they are trying to force the
Eagles to get a first down before this one is

(02:20:51):
offistically over. But even if they stop them here and
it is about to be third and three, if the
Giants stop them, they'll stop the clock. They get the
ball back deep in their own territory or with about
twenty seconds to go and no time out. So they're
already well into a miracle land as far as that's concerned.
So that's the only game that is not complete at
this point from the early session. Uh, taking a look

(02:21:13):
at the games we do know about, Minnesota looks great today.
Thirty four to seven, they get the win Washington escapes
the game against the Cardinals twenty to fifteen. Buffalo won
that game against Miami we were watching earlier coach to sixteen.
That pretty much takes Miami out of playoff contention at
six and eight. Carolina with a win thirty over Green

(02:21:33):
Bay Baltimore keeps Cleveland winless seven to ten. And I
continue to say, especially with this win today, if there's
one team I'm most confident about that will go to
the playoffs as a wild card, it's the Ravens, not
the Titans, who sit at eight and five and are
about to start a road trip in San Francisco. Um.
But it's the Ravens, who now sit at eight and

(02:21:55):
six and have home games coming up against the Colts
and the Angles. I think they're going ten and six.
I think they'll be the five seed in the a
f C. Right And you know, and it's Buffalo has
played much better this season. They've done a great job.
But you know, they're playing in New England. I think
I think they can beat Miami at Miami because Miami,

(02:22:15):
it clearly doesn't care except they played against New England.
Then they then they get geared up. But you know
they're they're they're thing today. Their their effort today was pathetic.
So you're right there. But it'll be interesting to see
who gets that next seed. Keep it in mind, this
is interesting. If the team that is favored wins all

(02:22:36):
the games the rest of the way, the second wild
card team in the a f C will be the
Los Angeles Chargers. Think about this for a second, because
the Ravens end up ten and six, right, they get
the five seed. The sixth seed then comes down to Buffalo.
They're eight and six. They gotta go to New England.

(02:22:57):
Um if they lose that, and then even if they
beat Miami, they finished let's say nine and seven. Meantime,
there's the Titans. The Titans are eight and five, have
to go to San Francisco, they're an underdog. Then they've
got home games against the Rams and Jags. They'll be
an underdog in both of those games. In theory, they
would finish eight and eight. Finally, there's the Chargers, who
are at seven and seven and have two games coming up.

(02:23:19):
One is at the Jets, the other one is home
to the Raiders. If they win those two games and
go nine and seven, the second playoff slot would go
to either the Chargers of the Bills, who would both
be at nine and seven. The Chargers beat the Bills
the Nate Peterman game, the Chargers would be the sixth seed.
It's a lot. I'm just talking about it. If the

(02:23:42):
favorite right, like Vegas theory, Vegas would say the Chargers
are still favored to go to the playoffs. That's uh,
that's crazy. It's amazing how Tennessee can have such a
huge lead, right and you're saying, hey, they're gonna lose.
The last three really would be the last four yea,
which you know, so maybe what happened and they're only
a one point favorite in San Francisco today, But uh,

(02:24:05):
that's you know, for whatever it's worth, that's what we're
talking about. I mean, that's the way they've played. I mean,
you know, and look, there's a lot of fans out
there at San Francisco. Look, well and see your real quarterback. Yeah.
The look. CBS in the NFL right now doing a
lot of wide shots of the stadium in Santa Clara
because they're getting to tell a story that they haven't

(02:24:26):
been able to tell all year, which is the California
football stadiums have been half empty and it's been true
there as well. And all of a sudden late in
the year, you're getting a big influx of people going
to forty Niner games and it's all Jimmy Garoppolo. Yeah,
I mean it's encouraging. They want to see him play
and and he's done a great job. So, uh, it's amazing.
You know that a young Hey, you've got a young

(02:24:48):
skilled quarterback coming in there. You know, there's mentioned why
they don't want to sign him long term. Why not
wake up? I think they do. I think they do.
It's a negotia employed. Yeah, I think it's a negotiating ploy.
They're just letting his agent know we can use the
franchise tag if you could. Yeah, no, I don't. I

(02:25:13):
don't think they will. I think that. Uh it's funny sometimes,
you know, I liken it too. When I met my wife,
I knew. I knew. It didn't take me anymore than
it didn't even take me four dates. I knew, and
I Jimmy Garoppolo has only played four games. But you
know what I've seen, what I've needed I need to see.

(02:25:34):
I know that's that's the guy for the next ten
years for the San Francisco forty Niners coach were underway
with the Patriots and the Steelers. I want to hear
about this coming up in just a second, but first
let's get Gascon in here. Let's get everything up to
date with everything that's happened so far today, Dave Gentlemen,
the North was one by Minnesota earlier today from his
own twenty three to one. They get it off, don't

(02:25:57):
it looks left Pattison sign Eric Tricks with a thirty
yard pit Sex Vikings Radio Network. It was a clean
game for case Keenum twenty of twenty three, two thirties
six through the air to t d s La Tevious

(02:26:18):
Murray had a hundred four yards and also a score.
Minnesota thirty four. Cincinnati seven Ravens dropped the Browns twenty
seven to ten. Club oh and fourteen. This season, Carolina
holds on to beat the Green Bay Packers thirty one
to twenty four. Aaron Rodgers was picked off four times,
Cam Newton with four tds in the affair Jaguars they
throttled the Texans forty five to seven. Blake Bortles three

(02:26:41):
twenties six through the air and also three scores. Washington
Redskins hold on to beat the Cardinals twenty to fifteen,
Saints thirty one, Jets nineteen, mark ingram a hundred fifty
one total yards in the game and also two scores.
Eagles they win. They beat the Giants in New York
twenty nine. Two games under way, three of them in
fact rams with the Seahawks and a couple of field
goals six zip, Steelers and Patriots underway. There's no score.

(02:27:05):
Same with the Titans and the forty Niners from San Francisco.
All right, Dave, great stuff. Love as an army. You

That's s A l j o I N with Rob

(02:27:25):
Ryan Mark Withard Fox Sports Radio. It's Red Zone Radio.
Been a great day for sure. Um, some really good games.
Good to see Aaron Rodgers back out on the field.
But the Packers aren't going to the playoffs this year.
We know that the Eagles and Giants was a really
fun game. Uh, Nick Foles can do a couple of things.
We we now know that. Um, we're watching the Rams
play the Seahawks. Uh, this one has already that same

(02:27:47):
defensive vibe this matchup usually does. But I will say,
even though this is rare in Seattle, you very rarely see,
like right out of the gate that that that fan
base usually is like an immediate punch in the mouth
to the road team. Right. The Rams have been the
better team immediately out of the game. Doesn't mean they're

(02:28:07):
gonna win the game. But they've already had two scoring drives,
They've already got a turnover. Uh, they've been the team
that looks better here right out of the gate, and
they really have been. They've been you know, physical too.
They've sacked the quarterback, uh, you know, Russell Wilson. They
force a penalty with Brown, their big tackle, he gets
a holding penalty on Quinn. Then the hitting the receiver,

(02:28:28):
hitting Jimmy Graham, forcing fumbles, knocking balls all over the place.
So I mean that's Uh, this looks like it's gonna
be a physical game. But it looks like the Rams
are taking it to Seattle at the moment. This Jimmy
Graham catch you're talking about, though, I think it's gonna
get overturned. Don't you listen. They're they're reviewing this right now.
Ball comes flying out the second he hits the ground. Um,

(02:28:50):
and I don't believe he had established himself as a
runner uh in this catch process, So to me, that's
probably gonna end up being called incomplete. We'll see Jimmy
gar Popolo's got the Niners inside Titans territory on their
opening drive, although he just took a first down sack
back to the forty yard line, So it's gonna be
second and twenty coming up. Um, Steelers Patriots. Steelers out

(02:29:13):
of the the ball first, got a couple of first downs
and then that was it. Incomplete. Patriots about to take over.
Here comes Tom Brady and company. I know what everybody
thinks is gonna happen today, which is that both of
these offenses are much better than both of these defenses.
Is that how you see it? Yeah? I think I think, uh,
I think the Patriots will find a way to go

(02:29:35):
out and beat uh, beat the Steelers in Pittsburgh because
they always do. I mean, that's uh, that's just something
that they do. You know, they play terrible in in Miami.
They stink in Denver, but they always play great in Pittsburgh,
so uh uh, you know it's gonna be the Pittsburgh
Plain as good as they can. But they'll always throw

(02:29:56):
a staker out there. They threw it out there against
the Colts, but the coach were so bad it couldn't
take advantage of it. So I'm just saying, don't find
a way. That's just the way it is. I mean,
it's it's been that way, uh, you know forever. So
I just looked at I think you're gonna see New
England fired up, ready to go and take a two pitch.

(02:30:16):
First play for the Patriots is a thirteen yard catching
run for Dion Lewis, so they're out of the gate.
We'll see what they've got in store. A third and
eight teen for the forty Niners, Garoppolo with a completion.
It's gonna come up maybe a yard short at the
twenty yard line, so it'll be fourth and one. They
can either kick the field goal or uh, let's see
if they go for it. Heck, why not? Right? Uh?

(02:30:37):
You just noticed Ryan Shazier at the game. Hum. Yeah, No,
that's great to see him out of the hospital. I mean,
that's that's amazing. So hopefully he gets well and can
play football again. Yeah, absolutely, all right, Tom Brady and
company back out on the field, so uh taking a look.
And by the way, they will overturn what was a
big catch for Jimmy Graham with the Seahawks. So the

(02:30:58):
Seahawks continue to be buried deep in their own zone.
You know. I look at this matchup though. One thing
I know, especially when you're talking about Belichick, is just
when you think they're gonna come out and do one thing,
they don't, they do the opposite. And we've watched that
with their defense all year. Remember earlier in the year,
the thought was, man, their defense is no good, and

(02:31:20):
then they went through a period where you're like, oh wait,
their defense is playing better again. And so j Cutler
has one good game against him on a Monday night,
and now everyone thinks they're gonna come out and just
be a sieve against Ben Roethlisberger today. I need to
see that first, because Bellick's gonna have something for right, Well,
They're definitely gonna take Antonio Brown away and they're gonna
try to make it tough for for bell That's that's

(02:31:42):
a hard thing to do because you gotta take an
outside receiver away and then not let the great runner go.
But uh, they're definitely not gonna let Brown beat them,
and that's something they can't do. But offensively, now, this
is a team that look back in the day when
Pittsburgh had the Pittsburgh Steeler number one defense with Dick
lebou and all that. You know, this is a team

(02:32:04):
that started off straights, straight passes to begin the game
in empty formation, you know. So they're gonna find something
that Pittsburgh hasn't done well all season, and they're gonna
get a heavy dose of it early in the game
and see if they can adjust or they'll be you know,
playing left hand in the whole day. Yeah, and now
what about on the other side of the ball with

(02:32:26):
regard to what Brady can do against this Steelers defense,
based on what Joe Flacco did against that Steelers defense
last week, They're gonna find something that Pittsburgh hasn't done
well all season. Like you know, and again I remember
the day they haven't they played one coverage versus empty

(02:32:46):
Like here they give up a bomb off of play action,
but that's Cooks. That's gonna get it down into the
red zone for the Patriots. All these plays here are
things that they haven't done well, and that's how they
attack him early in the game. And here they come
back to life. So that play is as someone's run
that play and heard him before and now it's wide

(02:33:09):
open again. All right. We got a defensive touchdown for
the Rams as well. Let's see if they're gonna review
to see if he got across the goal line. But
this was an interception from Russell Wilson and news cost
that one close exactly. Let's see the elbow. Boy, I'm

(02:33:32):
gonna say touchdown. The call on the field was touchdown.
Yeah right, I mean they do I'm telling you. For
the ball, Oh it was a kick return. I apologize.
I called that an interception on Wilson. That was a
kick return. Has done an amazing job with the special teams,
and I mean he really has. Guys got so much energy,

(02:33:53):
so much passion, and his team plays that way and
look every week and this is a good special teams
youn it for Seattle. But well, that's just amazing how
Bones Fossil could get that team going on. All right,
Rex Burke head into the end zone. It was that
easy man. The Patriots barely even blanked on that one
opening drive right down the field. Six nothing, Patriots lead

(02:34:16):
the Steelers, And I gotta think that not only is
that the obvious with regard to scoring first, but there's
gotta be something mental going on there too, where you know,
the Steelers know the history of playing the Patriots. When
they make it look that easy on the opening drive,
that's that that's not gonna make them feel very good
about today. No, And I guarantee those players on the
field are sitting there thinking, oh man, that's the play

(02:34:38):
that this team did to us. Oh man, that's a team.
That's a play that this team did to us. That
is so you're gonna have to adjust to him what
they're gonna get you again. Uh, let's see the forty
niners put three on the board. The Patriots now lead
seven nothing. They did call the kick return for the
Rams down just short of the goal line, so Gurley
got a one yard touchdown on the next play and

(02:35:00):
Rams are up third. Well, twelve nothing already early and
this is only, uh cost, this is not even ten
minutes into the game. It's already twelve nothing. Here comes
their line for the extra point. That one is up
in good and the Rams are off to a great
start in Seattle. All right, we're back to wrap this
thing up on our end, Rob Bryan, Mark Willard, Fox

(02:35:22):
Sports Radio. Alright, Geico, Fox Sports Radio Studios, Week fifteen,
National Football League. This has been a fun one. Steelers
moving into Patriots territory incomplete right there, Martavis Bryant unable
to make the catch. Third and ten coming up for
the Steelers. Uh, they are just outside the thirty yard

(02:35:44):
lines on the outskirts of field goal range. Rams up
thirteen nothing on the Seahawks. Niners up three nothing and
already driving. Garoppolo continues to look exactly like he has
the last two weeks. Looks like he's on point. Um,
let's get Chris Myers in here. Chris called the Jaguars
against the Texans today and it was never even a matchup.
The Jags just absolutely pounded him. Chris, great to have you.

(02:36:06):
Happy holidays to you. Um, how real of a threat
is this Jaguars team in January? Do you think? Yeah?
And and Mark and Robin Early, Merry Christmas, Happy holidays
to you. There are there are a serious threat because
they don't not only have the number one defense, and
Robs certainly can appreciate a dominant defense, but the offense
has come alive with Lake Bortles playing three of the

(02:36:28):
most consistent games he has in his career. And they
didn't even have Leonard for Nette today to run the
ball and he still through for three touchdowns. And yeah,
Houston was is a beat up team that isn't much
of an offensive threat. But the way that Jacksonville hampled
both sides of the ball very impressive. And they have
a chance. I just heard you giving the New England
Pittsburgh school. They already beat the Steelers at the head.

(02:36:49):
They have a chance of not only the getting the
two seed, but being the number one seed. Of course
they could win the division. All they did today was
keep the heat on Tennessee in that division and secure
their first playoff apparents in ten years. Yeah, no, it's
really impressive the work they've done. And at Doug moron
the coaching staff, and everybody's quick to you know, praise
Tom Coflin as well, Uh, because he just changed the

(02:37:12):
landscape wherever he showed up and and uh, you know,
really they've been stocked by on all those talented players
and you add a Calaius Campbell in free agency. That
was the biggest signing of any team in the league.
I think, I mean he is he has added something
else and making that defense really special out there in Jacksonville,
hadn't he Yeah, he had had another sack today, right.

(02:37:34):
They call him the you know, the mayor of Saxonville.
That's kind of the he really has had provided some
leadership of their thirteen and a half sack, you know.
And also signing rob A J. Boyer from Huston another
Jalen Ramsey they trafted, so they have two shutdown corners
and they have a chance to do something that's never
been done before in the NFL, and that's lead from

(02:37:56):
a defensive standpoint, lead in in fewest points allowed, which
they're giving up fifteen game leading takeaways, which they do
with thirty one, and then lead in sacks and the
right around fifty in that part. So if that holds up,
that's never been done before in the Super Bowl the
a f C NFC merger era. So they're that dominant
a defense. And yes, those additions with that young drafted
talent that we have talked about that we've been waiting

(02:38:17):
to break through for years as all clicked and and
now it's just the offense has to do their part,
which they have in the last few games. Think you
think of that, a first year coordinator walks into that job.
My god, that that guy's living lot of time he
stayed there, you know. I mean that he's got to
think his lucky stars at Marone kept him there and

(02:38:37):
now this guy gets to inherit that defense and he's
done a better job, you know. Shoot, I mean he's
done a great job with that with that group is
not just talent. I mean he's done a remarkable job. Yeah,
that's a good point that you know, Todd wash who
came for Remember Gus Bradley was here before, is that
the head coach and then was let go. But he
tried to bring that Seattle style of defense, you know, speed, physical,

(02:38:58):
and and they have with that, they get the pass
rush with the four guys, so the rest of them
can can do their job and that makes it tough
for anybody. And then that's why they've been able to
take the ball away so much and suffocate teams defensively.
So yeah, that was that was Taylor made and I
think the the just the coaching story of the development
of play portals. A guy who was third overall four
years ago and from Central Florida, first round quarterback who

(02:39:20):
has had different coordinators and different mechanics and people kind
of beating him up for not being a franchise quarterback.
And I think he showed this year with the help
of a running game they lead the league in rushing
or at least it coming at this game, that he's
been able to do do his part, and that's what
they need if they want to go further into the playoffs.
By the way, you mentioned Bortles there, Chris Uh. You know,
all these rumors over the last two or three weeks,

(02:39:41):
Hey boy, Eli Manning would look really good in a
Jags uniform. Bortles has quietly been really good the last
few weeks as well. So what do you think they're
going to do with that position going forward? Well that
you know, that's a good point. I think Bortles hurt
some of that stuff, and not that he wasn't trying
hard before, but realizes, you know, hey, if I'm gonna
be the franchise quarterback at quarterback and live up to

(02:40:03):
this kind of draft position and want the big payday. Uh,
you know, I need to step up and maybe win
some games by myself or I'll put him on my shoulders.
And he has. He's run for the key spots. And
even with Mark Heasley as top receiver going down in
today's game. Early in the game, Alan Hearns was was inactive.
Alan Robinson was hurt earlier in the year. So they've
had some young receivers that he's had to develop. Uh.

(02:40:27):
And and he really has carried that offense from from
that standpoint. So yes, I think this is big for
him personally to take this team far. So he almost
forces them to say, hey, sign me or some other
team will all of what you know, like a Garoppolo
did when he had his brief chance. Uh. And he
showed people before San Francisco traded to get him from
New England. Chris, great stuff, great job on the game today.

(02:40:49):
We really appreciate you checking in, all right, any time
you guys have a good Christmas. Was here, rob By,
Thank you all right, See you later, Chris Myers. Jacksonville
blows out Houston to seven. Okay, Pittsburgh came right back
answered the New England touchdown Ben Roethlisberger to Eli Rodgers
touchdown seven seven, um, and everyone knew this was gonna

(02:41:09):
be a heavyweight fight. And it absolutely has that feel
right out of the gate. Yeah. No, fantastic opening too.
What has to be a great game with with two
great teams going at it and uh, and look, you
don't trust me. They saw Jacksonville win too, So there's
pressure on on these teams absolutely, all right. So seven
seven there the Forts add another field goal. Uh, six

(02:41:32):
to nothing. They lead over Tennessee. I tell you the
heavyweight bout that doesn't necessarily they look like a heavyweight
about after one quarter is the Rams and the Seahawks.
It is all Rams in this game. It is thirteen
to nothing. The Rams lead it closing seconds of the
first quarter there. Uh, so far the Seahawks have only
been able to muster let's see about thirty nine yards

(02:41:55):
of offense in that first quarter. Yeah, I mean, you know,
you can only do so much when when all your
players are missing. You know, you may still have the
decal on your helmet, but you're not the same team.
And and look they they they fooled some people early
for the last couple of weeks. Now it's starting to
show these insures you can't just replace great players, you know,
over and over. I mean they've lost some some outstanding

(02:42:18):
defensive players. And then look that matchup on offense for
for Seattle against the Rams front, they're just too talented
on the defensive line. And remember, for the Rams, Robert
Woods returns to the fold and he's already got here
in this first quarter his third catch, uh, and that
goes for a for a first down, and so the
Rams now suddenly threatening again across the midfield at the

(02:42:40):
first quarter, break up thirteen nothing and uh and moving
into Seattle territory. Tom Brady and company back out onto
the field at Pittsburgh in this seven seven TiAl. Though
the Steelers are gonna get a sack right there. We're
also I think this is a big day for Marcus Mariota, right,
the Tech Titans in that playoffs a moment, right, Yeah,

(02:43:01):
they lost last week. We've talked about how they've got
some very difficult games coming up. I know the forty
niners are better than their record, especially now with Garoppolo,
but this is a defense that if you're a big
time quarterback in a playoff team, you ought to be
able to score some points against that group. Yeah, absolutely,
and and uh, you know, I I still think the
forty Niner defense has way more talent than, you know,

(02:43:23):
than than people say, oh, they're not very good statistics
about third worse in football and they were worse before.
But you know, I think they're better talented team than that.
And and the one thing here on this matchup, you
see with Pittsburgh play in New England, that left guard
has had all kinds of troubles uh Joe Tuoney uh
for for the Patriots, and there he gave up a

(02:43:45):
Cam Hayward sack, who's one of the best tackles in football, uh,
just recently. So uh, you know, that's that's a matchup
that bears watching because if they can't double Hayward, then
they're gonna struggle protective Brady James White with a catch
moments ago, but has come up a little bit hobbled.
So that's something to watch as well. As he's one

(02:44:05):
of the guys that's getting a lot of play there
out of the backfield alongside Dion Lewis. Mike Gillisle not
getting a whole lot of time anymore. After a good
start to his season and career as a patriot. Uh coach,
We'll do it again next week. I'll save the merry
Christmas wishes till then. We've got one more Sunday before Christmas.
But great job, Great to see you as always. All right.
