Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're listening to Fox Sports Radio. Grids of Darkness is
in the house of Jonas Knocks. The story is Jonas
Knocks cheap well by God. Like I said, Jonas Knocks
is coming through your speakers like the right cross from
a boxer that you've never heard of. What's going on

(00:22):
here and now, live from the Fox Sports Radio studios.
Here's Jonas Knocks. You're really going through with this, hun Cheese.

(00:44):
It's a familiar story in the NFL, and it is
all too familiar for one player. We will get into
that here coming up in just a couple of moments.
From now, Jonas Knocks Fox Sports Radio. You can hang
out with us as always on the I Heart Radio
app you and find us on hundreds of Fox Sports
Radio affiliates and wherever you are making us a part

(01:05):
of your Saturday morning into the afternoon. We appreciate you
doing so. We're gonna take you all the way up
until one pm Eastern time ten am Pacific right here
on Fox Sports Radio. And this is going to be
a fun show. We're going to have all sorts of
shenanigans and good times here on fs ARE for the
next three hours. But we must start with a tale

(01:28):
in which I believe that a lot of people can
relate to. Right, Because at a certain point, if your
issue becomes part of your story, even if it's not
your fault, it becomes part of your story. Case in point,
everybody has had car issues before, right, Like, if you

(01:49):
if you're listening to this show right now, you might
have them currently. It's miserable. It is absolutely miserable. Everybody
has had some sort of an issue with the car
before to where because of the your are you're not
able to get to work on time, or you're not
able to get to practice on time, or you're not
able to get to hear on time. And for the
first couple of times, people around you are going to

(02:09):
be understanding to it. Hey, I know, man, I've been there.
It sucks. You know, car issues broke down on the
way to work again, No problem, I can understand why
you've been a few minutes late. Had to take an
uber or whatever it is, I had to fix a tire, whatever,
whatever you have to do. Get all that totally understandable.
And then at a certain point, when it continues to
happen over and over again, it just sort of becomes

(02:32):
your story. It's just the way it is. It just
becomes what you are about. And sooner or later, as
much as we can empathize with your issue and the
fact that you've got a problem with your car, or
you've got some sort of baggage at home or whatever
it is, it does become part of you and it

(02:54):
becomes part of how people view you. Whether it be
an employer, whether it be UH somebody you work with,
whether it be a friend, anybody. It now becomes part
of who you are. It's part of your story. And
I say all that to say this, Carson Wentz is
a really talented player. Like he's a really talented football player.

(03:18):
You talked to a lot of people. There are throws
that he can make. He's done it in games before
to where you see him make a throw, you see
him do something with his feet, you see him scramble,
keep a play alive, and you go there's not a
lot of guys in the NFL that can make that play.
Not a lot of guys in the NFL that can
keep that play alive. Not a lot of guys in
the NFL that can make that throw. Carson Wentz can
really talented guy and one of the things you always

(03:42):
hear about him. Man, this guy was almost an m
v P of a season. I mean, he was having
an unbelievable year before he got hurt. Man, this guy
he was doing amazing things, you know, and then and
then he got hurt. And here we are again with

(04:02):
the Carson Wentz story in which he's at practice on Thursday. Uh,
he feels a pop in his in his foot. We
don't know the the total extent of the issue. We
don't know whether or not. Uh. You know, Carson Wentz
is gonna be out for several weeks a year. We're
here in a couple of weeks. So you're getting these
mixed results, these mixed reviews, these mixed reports on how

(04:23):
long he's gonna be out for. But he hasn't even
taken a snap in a preseason game for the Indianapolis
Colts and he's injured again. And so we can sit
and talk about the talent. We can talk all we
want about how great of a talent he is and
the throws he makes and the m v P season
he would have had, and it always comes back to

(04:47):
but he got hurt always, And it's just now at
this point, you have to sit back, even if you're
the biggest Carson Wentz fan, You've got to sit back,
and you just to acknowledge this is who he is.
This is part of the deal. It sucks, it's not

(05:08):
his fault. It's not like he's he's you know, driving
a t v s around in the off season or
or going bungee jumping in the off season and and
and hurting himself. He's doing this playing football. But it's
part of who he is. This is part of his story,
right or wrong, terrible as it, maybe this is part

(05:28):
of Carson Wentz his story. I mean, you one of
the things if you're the biggest fan of Carson Wentz,
because look, everybody acknowledges last year in Philadelphia was an
absolute disaster through and through, and a lot of that
you can put on Carson Watz. Because I had heard
reports from people to cover the Eagles who told me that,

(05:52):
hey man, this guy was not happy they drafted Jalen Hurts.
And there are a couple of different ways that you
can handle it. You can handle it like how Aaron
Rodgers in Green Bay, in which you can say, oh,
you moved up to draft a guy, no problem, I'm
gonna go out and win m v P, and then
I'm gonna call a press conference the next offseason, and

(06:13):
I'm gonna take a battle axe to you in front
of reporters and the entire country to show you what
a mistake you made. That's one way to handle it,
or you can handle it in the witch the way
Carson Wentz handled it. According to a lot of people
that cover the Eagles and people that I have talked
to that are close to the organization who have said,

(06:35):
Carson Wentz didn't want to have to compete for his job.
That bothered him. It wasn't just that they drafted Jalen Hurts.
It's the fact that they drafted Jalen Hurts and he
had to compete for the job, wasn't into it, basically
melted down. So they send him out to Indianapolis because

(06:55):
you go, hey man, Frank Reich's there. If anybody can
get the most of Frank Reich or and most of
the Carson Wentz, it's gonna be Frank Reich. Because Carson
Wentz his best season was with Frank Reich. And then
it comes all the way back around to the same
story and same ending to the story every time you
talk about that highlight of Carson Wentz his career. Yeah,

(07:18):
his best season was with Frank Reich, and then he
got hurt, and then he came back the next year,
and then he got hurt again, and then he came
back the year after that, gets the Eagles into the playoffs,
plays phenomenal football down the stretch of the season, gets
him into the playoffs, starts a playoff game, and then

(07:42):
he got hurt again. Oh but that was a dirty
hit by Jadevion Clowney. That's not Carson Wentz his fault,
you're right. Neither is his knee exploding when he dives
for the goal line at the Colisseum in l A
with the Ram against the Rams. That's not his fault.
Neither is a hit he took to the back in
which he got injured the following season because he rushed

(08:03):
coming back. That's not his fault. Just like when he
got hurt going into his rookie season. People forget that
he was hurt going into his rookie season. That wasn't
his fault. None of these are his fault, but they're
part of his story. At some point. We just have

(08:25):
to acknowledge this is who the guy is and what
you know mentally, what that does to him and whether
or not his confidence has shook and whether or not
all of a sudden you're looking around going, hey man,
this guy isn't it doesn't have anymore? Who knows? But
I always keep hearing about, man, Carson Wentz is the
best man, woman, what a talent. I mean, the Colts, look,

(08:48):
that was worth giving up what they gotta gave up,
and it was it's okay that that's look, I hear
you man, talented dude. There's a lot of things in
the plus column for Carson Wentz. There's a lot of things,
as I mentioned, that he can do in the NFL
that a lot of players can't do. I mean, you
want to know how talented Carson Wentz is. You want
to know how how hyped Carson Wentz was early in

(09:11):
his career. Remember that discussion we were having about how
what a mistake it was by the Cleveland Browns who
didn't take Carson Wentz. That somebody within the Browns organization
quote unquote didn't have a first round grade on Carson Wentz,
and they were laughed at, They were laughed at, laughed

(09:31):
out of the building. Oh my god, how could you
pass on a generational talent like that? Let me ask you,
now that we stand back and look at it, who
do you have more confidence in Carson Wentz or under
sized Baker Mayfield to finish the season. It's just part
of his deal, man, It's part of his story. It sucks,

(09:53):
but it's part of his story. And sooner or later,
your issues became part of your story. They become part
of who you are. Hey, boss, my car broke down again.
Yeah I know, it broke down last week. Yeah I know,
but that's why I was late. Yeah I know you
were late the week before. Yeah I no, But that
wasn't my fault. No, no no, no, Neither of these are

(10:14):
your fault. None of these times are your fault. It's
not your fault that your carburetor bleue. It's not your
fault that you almost got run off the road because
your power steering went. It's not your fault. I've been there,
I get it. Everybody can empathize, everybody can relate to it.
But you're still late, and I still got a business
to run. And at some point that becomes part of

(10:37):
who you are, and at some point you just got
to take a step back, look at this situation and
acknowledge this is just who Carson Wentz is. It sucks,
it's not fair. I feel bad for the guy, but
facts are facts. This is who Carson Wentz is. Jonas
Knocks Fox Sports Radio. You can hang out with us
as always on the I Heart Radio app. You can

(10:58):
get me on Twitter at the Jonas Knox at the
Jonas Knocks on Twitter, and we're gonna take you all
the way up until one pm Eastern time, ten A
and Pacific right here on Fox Sports Radio. We're going
to have a wild show. Uh, the Great Mike North,
the Chicago sports radio legend, is going to join us
an our two of the program coming up in a
little over an hour from now. We're also gonna have

(11:20):
the scraps. We're gonna have Ticketer stick It, We're gonna
have do you Care, all sorts of fun stuff, shenanigans,
grab bass, you name it for the next three hours
here right on Fox Sports Radio. But coming up next,
there is something that is happening in the world of sports,
all right. It is. It is very popular, it's very successful,
and because of it, it is ruining something you have

(11:42):
grown up with. We'll get into that next here on
Fox Sports Radio. We don't need to bring Jonas in
Jonas Knocks Fox Sports Radio. You can listen to the
show on the I Heart Radio app coming up in
a little over ten minutes from now here on fs ARE. UM, Look,
I shouldn't laugh at this story, but I can't help it.

(12:03):
I think it's hilarious. Uh. And this will come as
an insult to a lot of people, a lot of
loyal people, a lot of loyal sports fans in a
great sports town. But we'll get into that here coming
up a little over ten minutes from now on fs ARE.
By the way, some guy tweeted in I don't know
if he's busting my balls or if he just wants
to be a little bit of a smartass here or

(12:24):
what his agenda is, but he says that, uh, our
show is being preempted because of the banana slug. Five. Now,
I am willing to uh to go ahead and concede
that just because I love banana slugs, absolutely love him. Uh,
just just the whole idea behind the banana slug. They
are the mascot of Santa Cruz. You see Santa Cruz

(12:46):
out here in California. Uh and uh and listen. I
just believe it's one of the most amazing mascots, similar
to UM, I believe it's the Campbell Camels is another one.
There's a college of the Campbell Camels. Uh. And then
also UM, the uc Irvine ant Eaters is another one
that's one of my all time favorites. So if I

(13:07):
am preempted for something called the Banana slug five, I'll
where that's fine. But that's why we have the I
Heart Radio app, because even if your local programmer makes
a giant mistake and steers you away from Fox Sports Radio,
you can just go to the I Heart Radio app.
You can just punch in Fox Sports Radio and you
can listen to clear, crisp sounding sports talk all the

(13:30):
way through the entire weekend and into next week. So
there's that. By the way, we do want to let
you know that we are brought to you by Navvy
and for endless hot water. Choose Navvy and get all
the hot water you need for as long as you
need it right now. Save hundreds on a new navy
and tankless water heater with local rebates. Visit Tankless Made Simple,
Dot com, Tankless, Made Simple dot Com. I'm a firm

(13:54):
believer that for something to work, something else has to suffer.
It doesn't mean you have to be a fan of it,
but if something works, something else usually has to suffer.
All right. When you know, when Amazon became all the rave,
all right, and people shop and people still do. I mean,

(14:16):
I can't tell you the last time I have if
we've got a day in my neighborhood without seeing somebody
who's got an Amazon truck pulling up every day. Every
day there's an Amazon truck. I mean, I remember thinking
it was weird because I would see people dropping off
mail on a Sunday and thinking to myself, well that
seems suspicious. Nobody gets the mail on a Sunday. What

(14:36):
you do with Amazon? I mean, somebody's got Amazon Prime.
Somebody's getting something dropped off somewhere like it's it's crazy. Look,
you know you've got a problem when you've got drivers
for your company that are urinating in the car because
they don't have time to get to stop to stop,
they don't have time to get every package out there,

(14:58):
so they're urinating in their car. I I mean that
that was a that was a problem. So Amazon became
and and it's great. It's convenient. You know, you can
do it just by you know, open your app, go
on swipe, you know, get whatever you need, buy whatever
you need. It's awesome. But because of how awesome that is,
things suffer. Remember Toys or US Oops. Man, when you

(15:23):
were a kid, if your parents had a little bit
extra money, or you had a neighbor who wanted to
take you out and and say, hey, you know, well,
let's go to Toys r US And I mean it
was one of the great moments of your childhood. You
walk in there, you know, you got a couple of
The nerdy stuff was over to the right. Usually the
nerdy stuff was right to the right. I was never
interested in that. Every time I walk in and I

(15:43):
saw a Star Track or Space Wars or whatever it
is over to the right, I just assumed, all right, nerds,
go over there. Where's the sporting goodsile? Can I get
a Nerve Turbo? That's all I wanted? Uh? Is there
is there a a a W W E Action figure
that that would be available on on sale that I
could afford. But when you walked into a Toys r

(16:04):
Us it was phenomenal. It was great. You see the
commercials on television, You go, my god, man, what a place.
I gotta get in there. I mean, we gotta. Even
if you don't want to buy anything, you just want
to go through there and just see stuff. You just
want to see how it's all laid out. And listen.
I worked at a Toys r US and I was
a maintenance guy at the Toys r Us. You know

(16:25):
how filthy those bathrooms are. I cleaned them. That was
one of my first jobs out of high school. Needed money,
didn't have a car. I literally, eighteen years old, rode
my bike to Toys r Us and worked at the
Toys r Us as a maintenance guy. True story. But
those are long gone. Why because something else had success.

(16:48):
Just I mean, something has success, it takes away from
something else. I think that is happening in sports, and
I think there are a couple of examples we've seen
over the last couple of years that apply to something
that's going on right now. College football. All this talk

(17:10):
about the college football Playoff and college football playoff expansion
and all the things that come along with it, and
then you've got conference expansion and all the like, all
of this discussion about name, image, likeness, all of these things.
They're great for a lot of people. If you're the SEC,
you are ecstatic right now. You're getting a couple of

(17:33):
blue blood programs into your conference. You've got Matthew McConaughey
already saying, hey man, it's great to be in the SEC,
to which I would say, all right, well, I hope
you like six losses a year, because that's not too great,
but at least you're in the big dance. It's awesome.

(17:53):
College Football's playoff is awesome. There's an entire show dedicated
to the college football playoffs selection every single week. Every week,
an entire show. And we always argue back and forth,
who should be one and two? Which team is the
odd team out? Why one team at five or at

(18:14):
six deserves to be in over another team at four?
Why are there two SEC teams in? If Alabama loses,
they're gonna get in via the back door, no conference championship,
Like it's always the discussion during college football. When's the
last time we had a heated discussion about the Heisman Trophy?
Think about it. Remember when the Heisman Trophy used to

(18:35):
be the rave It was all the discussion who's gonna
win the Heisman, Well, man, I don't know. You know,
there's a guy on the East Coast, and then you've
got I mean, but these West Coast guys, I don't
know if anybody stays up for their games. The Heisman
Trophy was the award. It was one of the most
prestigious awards handed out and one of the most anticipated

(18:57):
awards and discussed awards handed out in all of sports.
You hardly hear about it anymore. It doesn't mean it's
not still a special award, it doesn't mean you're not
in rarefied air if you win it. But you never
hear about it anymore. Why because of the discussion of
the college football playoff and all the other things that

(19:19):
are happening within the sport, completely dwarf it. It's no
longer part of a normal conversation in sports talk radio,
sports television. And I've looked. I've talked to two Heisman
voters that work here at Fox Sports Radio, and I've
given him my theory and they agree. And these are

(19:41):
Heisman voters who are honored to be a Heisman voter,
and they say, yeah, there's just not there the the
buzz isn't there. It's just not there anymore. And I
think something similar is happening in the NBA. When the
Dream Team first came out back in two, I can

(20:04):
remember being a little kid and it was one of
the most excited I ever was thinking, Man, you mean
to tell me Larry Bird and Magic Johnson and Michael
Jordan are all going to be on the same team together.
No way, I I don't know. No, no, no, I
don't even look that. That's you can't even begin to

(20:25):
think about it. People were so excited about it that
Christian Lightner was selected over Shack to be on the
Dream Team and everybody just said, yeah, whatever, that's fine,
he could come to Yeah, come on in until this
is a dream team. Yeah, this is the greatest thing
we ever seen. Never seen this collection of talent ever

(20:46):
on the same floor together like we saw in Barcelona two.
They were rock stars. It's all anybody talked about. They
were on the cover of Cereal boxes, they were on
TV shows, people were discussing it, not on stop. The
Dream Team was everything. I couldn't care less about the

(21:09):
US basketball team right now. I know they won earlier,
I think they played Slovakia. I could have been dreaming that.
I don't know they won. The game literally does nothing
for me. And you're probably there's a lot of people
that listen to this. They are thinking, yeah, me too, Man,
I didn't even know they're playing. There's a lot of

(21:29):
people right now who just heard me say the US
UH men's basketball team just beat Slovakia or the Czech
Republic or whoever it was. And there's people listening to
this right now who go, oh, I didn't know they're playing. Yeah,
they played, and they won, and they won by a blowout,
and now they're advancing in the Olympics. But you didn't

(21:50):
know that. And do you want to know why you
didn't know that? Because you don't care? And you want
to know why you don't care because we get to
see a Mode of five dream team every single night
we turn on an NBA game, because with superstars wanting
to play together, it kind of dumbs down the idea

(22:10):
of getting this collection of talent on the same floor.
It's not the same, man, you've got dream teams. If
I really want to watch a US Olympic basketball team,
I'll turn on the Brooklyn Nets. If I wanted to
watch a miniature version of the Dream Team. I'll go
watch some Warriors games from a couple of years ago.

(22:34):
If I wanted to watch Hall of Fame players all
play on the same team together, I'll go back and
take a look at the two thousand eight Celtics. I'll
watch any version of Lebron James's teams over the past
several years. It's not the same. A lot of people
watch this or listen to this and go, yeah, man,

(22:54):
I I just don't feel it anymore. It's just it's
not there. And it doesn't mean that it's not a
natural occurrence that this happens. And there is something too.
We've seen it before. So because it's not new, uh,
you know, when it comes to the Dream Team or
these Olympic basketball teams getting together, because it's not new,
it's not as excitable. We don't get as excited for,

(23:16):
we don't look forward. Look, all of that is true,
but you have to admit that the idea of superstar
players in the NBA all team up together doesn't feel
like once every four years. It feels like every night,
like the Heisman Trophy. Nobody talks about it anymore. It's

(23:37):
got is it? Doesn't have a fraction of the interest
that it normally does because people are focused on other
stuff in college football, and I like seeing superstar players
team up together. Many honest, congratulations, that was awesome. I mean,
he's got two Olympians on his team. Everyone makes it
seem like, man, I did it here, I did it

(23:59):
my way. Hey man, you honest did it the old
fashioned way. Dude Middleton and Drew Holiday are on the
US men's basketball team. It's like, what are you talking
about here? Like there's not a collection of talent there.
Those guys might be Hall of famers when their career
is over. It's just the way of the NBA. And
because of it, the hype around the men's basketball team
in the Olympics suffers, just like the hype around the

(24:22):
Heisman Trophy has suffered because of the other college football stories.
And just like toys, r us and many things you
grew up with have suffered because of the invention of
online shopping. It's just the way it is. For something
else to succeed, something else has to suffer. Jonas Knocks
Fox Sports Radio. You can spend time with us as
always on the I Heart Radio app. You can get

(24:44):
me on Twitter at the Jonas Knocks at the Jonas
Knocks on Twitter. Coming up next. Uh, there is a
story in sports. It's a sad story. Listen. I'm not
trying to be an a hole, all right, but I
can't help but laugh, all right. So we will get
into that coming up next here on Fox Sports Radio.
But for all the latest from around the world of sports,
ladies and gentlemen, this is a man that demands your respect,

(25:04):
and if he doesn't get your respect, he will take
it from your cold dead hands. He is none other
than Isaac Loan. I'll get you for that. Speaking of respect,
Speaking of respect, Oh, Isaac, Isaac long Crown. Everybody around
of applause for Isaac Loan, Crown, the great and powerful il,

(25:29):
a man who haud of the goodness of his heart,
found it within himself to finally follow me on Twitter
after what are we talking about? Ten years of working together,
eleven years of working together, Isaac, I wanted to wait
until I got to know you better. Now, that's a
good point and I appreciate it. Jonas of the Olympics
in Tokyo on Saturday night, the f four mentioned US

(25:51):
men's basketball team advance of the quarterfinal round with a one,
nineteen to eighty four victory over the Czech Republic. The
Americans actually trailed this game after the first quarterbye seven,
but outscored the Czech Republic by forty two points after that,
thanks in part to hitting twenty three pointers. Jayson Tatum
scored twenty seventy at five three pointers, Kevin Durant twenty
three points, eight rebounds and six assists. In the NFL

(26:13):
this morning, New England Patriots head coach and man who
thinks that till of the Hunt was too sentimental, Bill
Belichick was asked about his team's quarterback situation. Do you
have an ideal time frame for naming a starter to
help you get ready for the season. I mean, Cam's
are starting quarterback. I think I've said that, but that
seems a little different from the other day because you
said the other day everyone starts with scratch, but it Cams.

(26:37):
That's yeah, that's right. Everyone does start from scratch and
they all have to re establish their positions. That's across
the board for the whole team. L check already in
mid season four and confusing public statements, I mean, why
why do they got to break his balls, like like,
can't the guy get into the season and just and
before you you got to turn him into a curmudgeon.
I mean, you see, sounds like this is the most

(26:59):
positive you will hear from Bill Belichick the entire year,
because as the season grinds on, he's gonna get wound
down and he's gonna get exhausted and they've already got
to try and you know, turn his gears a little bit.
Come on, now, I thought I thought he was busting
the media's balls because he said, well, Cam Newton's our
starting quarterback. Then again everything's up for so so you're bait.

(27:19):
You what you heard there? You could hear his eyes.
You could literally hear his eyes quivering with positive positivity
and glee that the season is upon us and he
gets to address his friends in the media. Again. Yeah,
I mean, look at some people are really excited. Like
you can tell that you and I are excited to
do sports talk radio, absolutely, and also you can tell

(27:42):
the Bill Belichick is really excited to stand at a
podium and try and explain to people that don't know
anything about football why he makes football decisions. So you listen,
I get it so so so you could because your
sense of hearing is so finely tuned and worked in radio,
you could. And I when we heard from Bell Belichick
there you could literally hear the zing zing zings of

(28:05):
his heart strings. Come on there, there are certainly how
many what's the coach? Or you can think about this?
Maybe we'll get to this later on. To answer you instantly,
give me give me the top two coaches that you
could tell I hadn't wanted nothing to do with you
as a media member. Oh, the list is endless, and

(28:30):
and and because you have a trained ear and you
have a sense of they don't want me near them
or asking them questions, you're able to identify that before
anybody else. I'd like to think so, so I basically
don't even bother. Uh. Yeah. Scotty Bowman, the four Scotty Bowman,
the former Detroit Red Wings coach, was right on the

(28:50):
top of the list. I mean looked at me and
I could tell they if he could he checked me
into the boards. Yeah, that's a good one. Yeah that
is I forgot about Scotty bow Yeah he was. He
was one of the original red ass coaches in sports. Him. Yes,
I mean quite appropriate because he went up coaching the
Red Wings. One other note, Major League Baseball padre star

(29:13):
Fernando Tatis Junior left Friday Nights lost to Colorado with
a partially dislocated left shoulder, third time this season he
has injured that left shoulder. And actually one more item, Jonas,
as we speak at the Banana Slug five hundred, we've
got Slimer off to a blazing start. But look out
now because Michael Slugless is hot on Slimer's tail. With

(29:37):
Sluggy Bear in third place. Slimer actually on a world
record pace to finish the Banana Slug five hundred by November,
and quite appropriately, the race being held in Boston at
t D Garden Garden is very good. Isaac Loan Kron
here on Fox Sports RADI, it's Jonas Snocks with you

(29:57):
here on FSR as well to by the way, coming
up in about ten minutes from now. It's our excuse
to be negative in the world of sports. We we
enjoy doing it. There's a lot of stories that you've
been force fed by the media. We're gonna tell you
how much you should actually give a rip about him,
so that I'll be coming up here ten minutes from
now on, FS are listen. I know it's sad and

(30:18):
there is a group of people out there that are
mourning right now, but I can't help but laugh. The
Chicago Cubs are an absolute dirty diaper. I mean, what
an embarrassment it gets. And I think it's hilarious. I'm sorry.

(30:38):
I grew up a Cubs fan, alright, so I get it.
I understand. Uh, you know, they get that World Series.
But here's why it's so comical. All that you were
hearing in the moment that they won the World Series was, Man,
how many more is this group gonna get? I mean,
how many more World Series titles? Is the are the
Chicago I mean, they're going to be just a wealth

(31:00):
of success. And then people tried to draw comparisons because
the Red Sox one and oh three, and they said, yeah,
the Red Sox one to oh three. And they had
a couple of down years, but they came right back
in two thousand seven and they wanted again. I got
news for you. You ain't getting a World Series in
Chicago on the North side of town for a long time.
It's over. I mean it is over. And to see

(31:24):
them trade away all of those guys most of which
were homegrown, drafted guys. Guys they identified building blocks of
the organization that did something for that franchise that nobody
else in the history of that organization did. And they
were gone. If you would have told a Cub fan
who had tears in their eyes bar from their shirt

(31:45):
because they drank too much and b o back in
in November of hey, man, you know less than five
years from now, all these guys are gone. Right, don't
get out here, you know what you're talking about. No, no no,
no, no no, I'm serious. All these guys are gone, all
of them. No, no, listen, I can understand losing one

(32:07):
or two, but now they're not. No, no, no, all
of them are gone. Well, what what about Chris Bryant, Man,
he was m v P. No, No, he's gone. You
know what about a Hobby Bias Man. That guy's you know,
the potential five tool player, he's got so much talent,
the way he plays. Yeah, he's gone to Okay, Well,
I no, they're not getting rid of Anthony Rizzo. Man,

(32:29):
he's got an affordable contract. He's the heartbeat of the team.
They brought him over. He was one of the early
early moves. Yeah, he's gone too, and he's gonna hit
a home run his first game with the Yankees. Nobody
would have believed you, So I can't help but laugh.
I know people are mourning. I know people are are

(32:51):
You are thinking about man, all the good times and
now what happens and what well, what what's gonna happen
is what happened all those years before. You're gonna go
back to being a bad baseball team in a great
baseball town. And it's fine because they'll continue to sell
out Wrigley Field. It's one of the the oldest tales

(33:12):
in sports. It doesn't matter how good the Cubs are,
people are going to flood Wrigley Field. This the way
it is Jonas Knocks Fox Sports Radio. You can get
me on Twitter at the Jonas Knocks at the Jonas
Knocks on Twitter. Coming up next, there are some things
in the world of sports you have been told are
very very important that you must hear about, that you

(33:33):
must discuss, and we are going to tell you the
truth about him. It is a brutal truth. It is
brutal honesty, and it is yours. Next here on Fox
Sports Radio. Hey, it's me Rock Parker. Check out my
weekly MLB podcast, Inside the Parker, for twenty two minutes
of pipe and hop baseball talk featuring the biggest name

(33:54):
the newsmakers in the sport. Whether you believe in analytics

the I Heart Radio app or wherever you get your podcast.
Jonas Knox, Fox Sports Radio. Coming up little over ten

(34:17):
minutes from now, top of next hour. There is a
war going on, all right. We have got a battle.
It is an NFL story and it doesn't just apply
to the team. It doesn't just apply to its players.
It applies to people in the media. And we will
get to that here coming up in a little over
ten minutes from now on Fox Sports Radio. Right now, though,

(34:38):
it is time for something we do on the show
every single week, and it's called this. There's so many
stories in the world of sports, and most of them
are a complete waste of time DMZ reports. Let's get kinky.
Here's some of the big stories from the last week.
But Jonas, the real question is do you care? And

(34:59):
we that we turn it over to our executive producer,
Ryan Burr Shinger to find out what the hell people
have been talking about Bursch. First off, the Lakers acquired
Russell Westbrook Jonas Do you care? Yeah, because I think
it's gonna be a real issue. Uh It. Here's why
this isn't even just because of the shooting, right, everybody's
gonna give you this wall. I mean, uh, I think

(35:20):
it won't work because he doesn't shoot well from behind
the ark and neither does Lebron. So how how would
that work in today's NBA when guys can't shoot threes? Cool?
Oh well, I think it's gonna work because Russell Westbrook's
gonna provide energy to the Lakers. So that way, if
Lebron James and Anthony Davis have a down night, Russell
Westbrook's gonna be playing at cool neat take. Here's why

(35:44):
it's fun. I want to see somebody on that team
try and tell Russell Westbrook what to do. That's all
I want to see. I want to see that play out.
So you can sit there and bore yourself to tears
thinking about what this means to the shooting person sentwages
and what this means to uh to Russell Westbrooks energy
and what it brings to the Lakers. I'm here for chaos,

(36:07):
all right. I want to see Russell Westbrook's face when
somebody on that team tries to tell him what he
needs to do. I want to see how that plays out. Next,
the NBA Draft was Thursday night. Kate Gunningham went first
to the Pistons. Jonas, do you care, No, I'm sorry,
I don't. I don't. And listen and listen Kate Cunningham.

(36:27):
I've heard good things about him. Um, Doug Gottlieb, who's
as knowledgeable as anybody on on a sports radio or
sports television when it comes to players coming from the
draft or talking about the NBA. Um, he seems pretty
high on him. I'll take he's forgotten more about basketball
than I'll ever know. But I just I'm sorry, man,

(36:48):
there's just too much going on to to to dive
fully into the NBA Draft. Next, the MLB trade line
was active, maybe one of the best ever. You got
suser In Turner going to the Dodgers. He got Chris
Bryant going to the Giants, Hobby Bias to the Mets,
Craig Kimberal to the White Sox, Joey Gallow, Anthony Rizzo
to the Yankees, and Jonas Do you care? Um, well, yeah,
I care that you completely blew off Jake Marisnick to

(37:11):
the Padres what Daniel, Yeah? I mean, come on, Burst,
there's our main stories here. I I like it. You
tried to shoe her shoehorn, Max scherz or uh and
uh and trade Turner to the Dodgers as being the
number one trade story from the deadline. And let me
tell you something, it's that kind of ball washing and

(37:32):
it's that kind of loyalty that makes the swing shift
with Ryan Burr Shinger and Bo Benson a must listen podcast.
How about that Burst? About that about time somebody gave
you guys some love? You guys do a phenomenal job.
You can check it out at Ryan bur Shinger on Twitter.
You can check that out. And then also asked him,
you know how many items from the vending machine he

(37:54):
has snorted during the breaks? Because that is also another
is sheet not fool? Am I am I wrong? I've
seen people make this comment before. John Paul Morossi made
the comment, We've never seen a trade deadline like this right,
Oh no, not at all. I think crazy. Yesterday when
like when the Bias trade happened, that was just kind

(38:14):
of like oh yeah, sure because at that point, that's
like the six or seventh All Star that had been
moved in the last twenty four hours, and you're like, yeah, okay,
and it's just Domino's falling like crazy. It was a
ton of fun. I I actually wonder you mentioned All Stars.
I wonder how many future Hall of Famers got traded
on one day or within a twenty four hour stretch, Like,
I sure, as there's a Hall of Famer, right, Bryant.

(38:36):
I mean he's got an m v P, he's got
a World Series, multiple time All Star, Rookie of the Year.
He feels like he could be a Hall of Famer. Um.
I just think there's a lot of guys you saw
get moved over the past twenty four hours, All Stars,
Hall of Famers. Yeah, it was wild. Next. Um, Madden
ratings were released this week. Good god, man, Like it's

(38:57):
just too complicated. It really, Like, I don't care. Listen.
I used to play Madden and then I realized you
have to buy the game a new game every single
year because players move from team to team, and I
don't know if that's been updated. I don't know if
there's a computer version to where you don't have to
do that anymore. But it just got so tiresome having

(39:19):
to rework the roster the following year because you normally
had to wait till Christmas time to get Madden. And
the problem is you're already fifteen weeks into the season,
so you're working with with the with the previous year's game,
trying to you know, mix and match and keep up
with all the trades and and free agent movement and
all that stuff that's gone on in the pre and

(39:39):
the following season. I'm just not into it, man, gimme
tech mobile. I want simple, stupid. I don't want to
have to overthink things. I just want to play something
from like the nineteen eighties, in which it's so far
past roster updates that I don't even have to think
about it. Next, Tom Brady is not wearing a sleeve
on his left knee for the first time in four

(40:00):
teen years. Jonas, do you care? I mean, seriously, I'm
here to tell you right now, that's a great point,
stephen A, because I don't. I really like that's what
we're talking about here, Tom Brady's knee leave. Like, I mean, man, look,
sometimes guys get used to an apparatus and it just
becomes who they are. It doesn't mean that they've been injured.

(40:21):
It's just too man. Do you think Richard Hamilton's was
playing rip Hamilton's was playing with a broken face for
that many for that many years in his career. I mean,
the guy for majority of his career walked around like
Tom Cruise in Vanilla Sky. You think it's because his
face was injured. Now he got used to the apparatus.
You think Ben Roethlisberger has got an issue with his
hand when he wears a glove to throw. No, he's

(40:43):
just used to it now. Next, so, Kanye West is
hosting another listening party for his new album Donda at
Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta. At the first party, Kanye
just walked around the floor as the album blade, and
people just watched him walk around. Jonas, do you care? No,
I mean, I can't think of many things that I'd

(41:07):
rather not do then go to a Kanye West watch party.
And that's that's not an insult to me. He's he's
an extremely talented guy, really smart, um eccentric. All of
that stuff is true, But come on, man, like, isn't
it like you don't tell you what? Why don't you
skip that watch party or that listen party and listen
to Fox Sports Radio. Do something productive with your lives.

(41:28):
Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk lineup in
the nation. Catch all of our shows at Fox sports
Radio dot com and within the I Heart Radio app
search f s R to listen live. There is a
battlefield in the world of sports. It started on the
NFL field and now it is also leaked over to

(41:48):
the media landscape. We will get into all of that
here coming up in just a couple of moments. From now,
Jonas Knox, Fox Sports Radio. You can listen to the
show as always on the I Heart Radio app. You
can find us on hundreds of Fox Sports Radio affiliates
wherever you are making us a part of your Saturday
morning into the afternoon. We appreciate you doing so, and

(42:08):
we are going to take you all the way up
until one pm Eastern time, ten am Pacific, seven am
Hawaii right here on Fox Sports Radio. I just burned
the f out of my mouth taking a sip of coffee.
My god, legitimately, oh my like not even I'm not

(42:29):
even kidding. Wow. It's like we were talking about this
during the week. We've been filling in myself, Brady Quinn
labar Arrington had been filling in on on out kick
the coverage during the week here on Fox Sports Radio. UM,
and we were talking about cereal when you're when you
were a kid, like you know what what cereal you liked?

(42:51):
And I don't eat cereal anymore because, first of all,
I never eat that early in the day, and cereals
like the last thing I think of that in the
fact that you know, a few years back, I had
a bullet cheerios and uh, like you you would have
thought somebody it was somebody had put chili in it,
like it just, I mean it ran through me like
I stole something like it just it was not cooperating.

(43:14):
And I just learned a lesson right there, all right,
So you know, things like I used to be able
to do as a kid, I can no longer do.
It's like when you see a toddler run around and
they fall down on their knees. You see him and
they just bounce right back up and they're ready to go.
If I fall on my knees right now, I'm out
six months, man, Like I I can't even. And so
we were talking about cereal and remember the Cereal Ohs.

(43:36):
There was a cereal called Ryan Burr Singer. You're you're
a food junkie, You're a food remember Remember the cereal
Ohs Burst? Remember that? Um Okay, it sounds vaguely familiar, okay,
But the point was that there were certain cereal that
you had to let sit in the milk for a while,
or else it was going to cut up the roof
of your mouth, you know what I mean, Like like

(43:57):
that's like that's a real problem. But like burst, you've
had that happen before, right, Yeah, I think it's something
like I likes or Raisin brand, those kind of things
you have to let simmer a little bit. Yeah, Like
there's certain cereals when, like growing up, you had to
let them sit in the milk for a littlehile or
else they're going to cut up the roof of your mouth.

(44:17):
Oh's was one of them. Some people have said, like
you know, fruity pebbles or something like that. Let's go
live to our I have thoughts on what the roof
of your mouth inside or Iowa Sam for the latest
Sam Raisin brand more like Razor brand. Am I right?
Oh my god? Like this is why I mean used
to have you at this hour? Joe? Can can we

(44:38):
get Chris Perfette back for a couple of hours? Like Sam?
Just Sam come back at one of a certain towns.
I can't deal with this. I don't I don't have
I don't have it in me to deal with the
Iowa Sam for a couple of hours here on a
Saturday morning. But point being, I just had a similar
cereal accident have been except in the way of coffee,
and my mouth is literally burnt right now, not even
making that up, not exaggerating that for the air legitimately bird.

(45:00):
So with that being said, we move right along to this.
There is a there's a battle going on, right and
there is This is how you know it's a big
story when it is now bled over into other aspects,
all right, Like um, and I almost wonder if people
are conditioned now because of the last couple of years

(45:22):
that all we want to do is argue. You notice
that you go onto Twitter and you could say the
smallest thing, and an argument ensues, like we it's no
longer we agree to disagree, all right, that that's saying
that phrase. That's dead. There is no more agreeing to disagree. No, no, no, no, no,
it's your point. I gotta get my point across. And

(45:44):
it doesn't matter if it's if it's dumb politics, Uh
miss me with that. I don't want to fall asleep
on the air, or if it's COVID or vaccines or
like you name it. All anybody wants to do is argue.
And every time I opened up my Twitter app, it's
like opening up a barbecue lid and you don't realize

(46:04):
the grills on fire. Like you almost jumped back. It's like,
what the hell is that? You're on the set of Backdraft,
Like what the hell is that? And so you just like,
I feel like people are just conditioned now to argue.
That's all they want to do, and it's just such
a waste of time. And so there, And you can
tell a story is big when it not only applies

(46:25):
to just what's happening within the story, but then it
leaks out to other parts of the story. The Aaron
Rodgers situation in Green Bay, and I got news for you.
If you're tired of hearing about Aaron Rodgers and the Packers,
buckle up, bro because it's gonna be a story for
the entire season. And the reason it's going to be
a story for the entire season is because Aaron Rodgers

(46:48):
drew a line in the sand. He drew a line
in the sand this past week when he laid waste
to that organization and that front office and did it
in a way that was so calm, so direct, so
well thought out that it was hard to argue with

(47:08):
any of it. It was it was like if if
you wanted to, you know, to dismiss Aaron Rodgers and say,
well he's being this, and he's doing that, and he's
it was hard to argue with that. People still did though,
because that's how we're conditioned. They still still argued about it.
And so you've got this line in the sand that

(47:29):
has been drawn so much so that the following day,
Brian Goodacoon's to the GM for the Packers had to
come out and say, oh, well, you know, Aaron is
not a lame duck quarterback. I mean, we never saw
him as a lame duck quarterback, and and we signed
Randall Cobb, but yes, to appease Aaron Rodgers. So you
drafted Jordan's love, but he wasn't a lame dut quarterback.

(47:50):
By default, that makes him a lame dut quarterback. That's
how this works. You speed up the process. That's what happened.
Aaron Rodgers acknowledged it sped up the process. And so
now that he's back at camp, everybody is watching and
seeing how this whole thing is gonna play out. I
personally think we're gonna have a problem. I think this

(48:11):
is going to be an issue. Something's gonna come of it.
Somebody's got to go. It's either going to be a
member of the front office or it's gonna be Aaron Rodgers.
But both things won't coexist in Green Bay next year.
And then that story was such a big story that
it then bled out into the media where you've got
this and it's it's really weird, man, it's listen, Mike

(48:34):
Florio clearly has an agenda. Clearly, I'm you. You don't
even You can go on to Pro Football Talk and
just by the headline you can tell if Florio wrote it,
and then you go to the comments and he just
gets buried alive by these people like it's it's actually
pretty funny. And so you you're seeing like people in

(48:57):
the media, not just Florio, but it feels like Adam
Schefter and other people that continue to try and push
one side of the packers Aaron Rodgers store. You notice that, like,
I don't like to get into contract details because first
of all, I don't know enough about it. I've never

(49:18):
had an NFL contract, and I feel like when you
talk a bunch of numbers on the radio, people get confused.
I got great advice from somebody in sports radio who
told me one time, stories not stats. Nobody wants to
hear a bunch of numbers. Nobody wants to turn on
the radio and have you read them a box score.

(49:39):
I can do that on my own, man. I can
go I can go online, I can I can get
a newspaper. I don't need you to read me the score.
Give me the box score and the statistics and the
shooting percentages. Tell me a story. So that's always been
my approach. I never get into the numbers, and I
just don't do because I think it's confusing. And you've

(50:00):
got these details of the contract and the opt out
and all of these, and it's like, you got this
one side that is saying, oh man, Aaron Rodgers won
the battle. Aaron Rodgers, look at the details of the contract.
Aaron Rodgers won the battle. And he got the Packers
to blink first, and he got them to get Randall
Cobb and blah blah blah blah blah. And then you
got this other side saying no, no, no, no, read

(50:22):
the fine print. That's not what it means. It means this, this, this,
and dude, who gives a rip? Who cares? Why can't
you just sit back and enjoy the ride? Do you
understand we are going to have a story in the
NFL for an entire season. Even if we have awful games,

(50:44):
absolutely awful games. We are going to have a story
in the NFL the entire season. It's fantastic. And I
was saying it at the time. And this is the
part that surprised me the most about what happened this
week in Green Bay. I went on in the air
and I said, hey, man, Aaron Rodgers is probably gonna

(51:04):
get frustrated. He probably doesn't want to do this. But
when he shows up, and I was saying, and this
is one of the few things I get right. When
I was saying, Aaron Rodgers is gonna show up, Aaron
Rodgers will be in Green Bay. He's going to be
a camp Aaron Rodgers is going to be a packer.
He's not retiring. I don't buy it for a second.
Aaron Rodgers is going to be in Green Bay. He's
going to show up. He's going to be a packer.

(51:25):
And one of the things that I said that I
did get wrong was, look, he's probably gonna be very passive, aggressive,
very vague, not want to give a bunch of answers,
just say I'm here to be a Green Bay packer,
I'm here to play out the season, I'm here for
my teammates, all of that stuff like that. That is
the direction he's going to steer the conversation. That's the
way he's gonna take it. And the media at some

(51:48):
point is going to get exhausted asking him about it.
And then we move on and we no, no, Aaron
Rodgers made sure, oh no, no. You guys want to
know what's happening. Let me go ahead and break it
down to you, and in fact, let me break it
down to you month by month, conversation by conversation, and
then let me go back in time to all the
times I was bothered because they let go of a
player that we could have used. I was completely wrong,

(52:11):
and all that did was set up arguments in the media,
a battle there in Green Bay, and a story that
we're going to have in the NFL for the next
several months. If you were tired of it, if you
thought you would rid yourself of the of the issue
and the conversation, if you thought Dak Prescott's contract, which

(52:32):
got us through a pandemic, was going to be a
hot topic on sports television and radio, I got news
for you, man. This Rogers Packers story isn't going anywhere.
Aaron Rodgers made sure of it this week when he
laid out that organization. Jonas Knox Fox Sports Radio, you

So before we check in with Mike North, Uh, we
do want to hear from Isaac Lowan Crawn on a
very busy Saturday morning into the afternoon from around the
world of sports, spanning the globe with time zones Saturday

(54:19):
morning here on the West Coast, Saturday late morning on
the East Coast into the Olympics in Tokyo. It is
already Sunday morning, twelve twenty am on Sunday morning to
be precises. On Saturday night in Tokyo, the US men's
basketball team defeated the Czech Republic to advance of the
quarterfinal round one night four. They actually trailed this game

(54:41):
after the first quarter by seven, but outscored the Czech
Republic after that by forty two thanks to hitting twenty
three pointers. Jayson Tatum came off the bench to hit
five of them, lead team USA with Kevin Durant at
twenty three points, eight rebounds and six assists. Also Saturday
night at the Olympics, Jamaica's a Jane Thompson hurrah when

(55:01):
the women's one hundred meters with a time of ten
point six one, breaking Florence Griffith joiners thirty three year
old Olympic record by one hundredth of a second. In
the NFL Adam Schefter reporting a short time ago, the
four time Pro Bowl pass rusher Justin Houston has agreed
to a one year deal with the Baltimore Ravens after
two seasons with the Indianapolis Colts, in which he had

(55:23):
to combine nineteen sacks and three safeties. Also this morning,
New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick asked about his
team's quarterback situation, and take it for what you will,
do you have an ideal time frame for naming a
starter to help you get ready for the seasons. I mean,
cams are starting quarterback. I think I've said that's that

(55:45):
seems a little different from the other day because you
said the other day everyone starts with scratch, but its Cams.
That's yeah, that's right. Everyone does start from scratch and
they all have to re establish their positions. That's across
the board for the whole team. What the hell did
he just say? Finally, in Major League Baseball, Jonas San
Diego Padre star Fernando Tatis Jr. Left last night's lost

(56:06):
to the Colorado Rockies With a partially dislocated left shoulder,
third time this season he has injured his left shoulder.
Back to you, thanks, Isaac, it is Jonas Knox here
on Fox Sports Radio. You can listen to the show
on the I Heart Radio app. You can get me
on Twitter at the Jonas Knocks at the Jonas Knocks
on Twitter. Later on this hour, we'll call it a

(56:26):
little over fifteen minutes from now, we are going to
have another edition of ticketer Stick. And if you heard
the show last week, the crap Ryan Burr Shinger, our
executive producer, pulled. Uh. He deserves to be in sports
radio jail for what he pulled last week. So we
will get to that here coming up a little over
fifteen minutes from now. But right now, ladies and gentlemen,
wherever you are is if you're not driving, get on

(56:48):
your feet, all right, stand up and pay your respects
to one of the goats. The reason a show like
this exists in the world of sports talk radio. The
living legend himself, the Chica Ago sports radio Icon, and
my man, the Great Mike North is with us here
on Fox Sports Radio. Northy, what's happening. It's about time,

(57:10):
been waiting buying the phone for two months. I'm waiting
for to rad What's what's a pantsome? Oh? My guy
A Northey And I hate to do this to you.
To make you waiting longer. But I did want to
because we do have a live reports from around the country.
So we do have our MLB insider, a John Ringo
is actually live outside Wrigley Field to report on the

(57:31):
developments there with the Cubs, Smell and Northy. What happened?
You know what, I've always said this, you know, everybody's
to blame. Really, I've never said that. I hardly ever do.
There's always one person to reside, but everybody is to blame.

(57:52):
First of all, the rickets. You know, they're billionaires. They
bought the team were under a billion dollars. Okay, it's
worth three point three five billion now, which means almost
three times what it was worth twelve years ago. Number one.
But you know they hate the owners because they only
brought him one World Series. I'm sorry that one about
the players. Okay, it seemed like the last five years

(58:13):
Jonas in this town was like ten years. Like that decade,
it was just like, what is wrong with this team?
And then they threw into town at the beginning of
the season. They got rid of huge Irish I knew
that was the first flare that was set up. They
traded schwarb I didn't have a problem with that. What
really bothered me is when they could add Nick Castellano's

(58:33):
who was making five fifty at the time, signed him
to a long term deal, they would have had uh
that anchored down. But of course, uh, they've decided to
go this way. Now, I understand there's a spoiled group
of cub fans under twenty years of age. They have
never known anything but winning. But this is I mean
part for the course. I mean, if you want to
go over people that have left Chicago, I mean, oh Rizzle,

(58:57):
he was as popular as Ernie Banks. I guess history
was only a nightclub in downtown Chicago because they don't
know their history. Ernie Banks was one of the first
black players for the Chicago Cubs. He was an m
v P two years in a row during the reign
of Hank Aaron and Willie Mays. He's the most popular
Cup of all time at five months. So shut up.

(59:19):
But they failed expectations, That's what they did. I was
never prepared to give Brian to fifty. I'm not prepared
to give Rizzle more than a one year deal. Mark
Grace lived under those and Harvey bias. I mean because
he g's a sacrifice fly against the Cincinnati Reds and
he's mad at up doesn't even run the first day.

(59:41):
You have a week manager and David ross Day threw
in the towel from the beginning, basically sent a bad
signal to the fans. So I blame the whole organization,
but I'm not against doing what they're doing right now.
Mike North, Chicago Sports Radio legend joining us here on
Fox Sports Radio. Jonas knocks Ady here on FS right now.
I gotta give credit where credit is due. You and

(01:00:02):
I talked about this at the time, and and truth
be told, Um, I grew up a Cubs fan, and
so like you and I we've done you know, a
Bears podcast together, which man, I hope we can one
day do that again. That was some of the most
fun I've ever had, just as we as laying waste
to a six and ten football team was it was
just it felt like church every week. But but we

(01:00:24):
we talked about it at the time, and I gotta
give you credit because the conversation not only around Chicago
but nationally was, man, how many more are they going
to get with this group? And you said at the time,
and I quote, they're the eighty five Bears. They're the
eighty five Bears. How did you know it was gonna
be one and done for this group? Well, I heard

(01:00:45):
from the next year they come down. I gotta listen
to a team that has some one for eight years.
They finally win when I winted something. Believe me, I
want to win again. What am I hearing? Oh it's
gonna be a hangover year. Oh they're tired. I mean,
if you're gonna tell me, I thought Joe Madden would
be an icon in this town. He s ushered out

(01:01:07):
the door. Then you start seeing team players become individuals
here and I'm sitting out with a strained hamstring or
a fatigue cam string in Bryant trying to shake the
soft demo image to the very end where he's in
tears when he's leaving the team that he could have

(01:01:27):
signed an extension with Folks. Nor do you remember that
same team, the Cubs, who held him out his rookie
year because they wanted to have another year of his rights.
Remember that, right, So there's all sorts of nonsense that's
going on. I've seen it all. I saw Bruce Suter
let go. I saw Greg Maddox let go. But but

(01:01:49):
the Cub fans that are under twenty, they don't know anything.
But I will say it privilege. They've been winning, but
they didn't finish the job. I thought this team was
gonna win, maybe more than one. But I also said
they could be the five Bears, and that's what they've become.
And they've become a bunch of individuals bias and they're
all looking for the doll They could have signed extensions

(01:02:10):
and that doesn't mean they wouldn't have been traded, but
they could have signed extensions at the time that the
Cubs off the women. They didn't know. So you know,
Rizzole walk, you know, put pressing this body up against
the vines. Like somebody said today, how bias. I love
all you fans. Yeah, And somebody said, yeah, but you're
leaving for the money. We understand, you know. I mean,

(01:02:32):
it's just a a bunch of nonsense. You know, you
mentioned the spoiled Cub fans, because it is true. This
is the most successful run in Cubs history. Like they've
never done what they did in the past five years.
I remember growing up out in southern California and and
this is before w g N was made available coast
to coast, and so the only time we would get

(01:02:53):
to see Cub games out here is when they were
either playing the Dodgers locally or when they were playing
the Braves on TBS, superstation TVs. And I can remember
a time in which you would turn on TBS, they'd
be playing the Braves and Hector Villain, a Wava and
Luis Salazar we're in the lineup. I remember those Cubs,

(01:03:14):
Like the people now are crying because these guys living
northe to your point, they've chased away players the entire time,
like they've never wanted to give out big contracts. And
the guys that they do pay, Alfonso Soriano not one
of their own guys. You Darvish, you could have had
Jake Arietta. They signed you Darvish to a deal. So

(01:03:35):
this field, Tyson Hayward, I saw him trade Bill Madlock.
He won three batting championships with the club. You know
what I mean, He's one of the great He and
a three oh five lifetime. Every I keep hearing Ron
Sandal Chris, but Bill Madlock, every time he did the
Guy Challenge, he won Daddy titles they got rid of them.

(01:03:55):
They've been doing this forever, you know, and and you
know what they do act like a small market team,
and there's such a big market team. If the Dodgers
can retool and everything else, why can't they? And when
theo Epstein left, that was a surefire signed. They were
giving up, you know, even though Jed Hoyer, I think
it's gonna follow the same game plan. They got the
Yankees ninth round pick, uh in the twelfth round pick.

(01:04:17):
I don't know what that means, but you know, I
think Grizzle a sore armed guy in a home or
last date or excuse me, a sore back guy. I
don't know if he's gonna play every game for them.
Maybe he'll resign with the clubs. I have no idea
after this is all said and done, But like I said,
I think Hoyer said, we can't win with this group, hey,

(01:04:38):
you know, and then they lose Lester Ariet is not
the same Starvish never really worked out, and when he
did work out, they got rid of him. Schwarber ends
up being an All Star. So it's just in a
debaccle it really has. It's Mike North's Chicago Sports Radio
legend joining us here on Fox Sports Radio. How much
by the way, how much fun is this? Just tearing

(01:04:58):
into the clubs? This is sel It's fun. Well, I
mean really most of the Cup fans that that are
young are are today morning at Lallapaloosa going what day
is it? You know what I made? So you know
what I mean, guys going whip is my shoe in
my mouth? You know? You know all the Cup bands

(01:05:23):
that were piste off that are under twenty five years
are called twenty five years of age? Are going? Who's planting?
You know what I mean? Jonahs docks here on Fox
Sports Radio. You know here, here's the other thing North
And I was thinking about this. It doesn't matter what
they do because people are still gonna go to Wrigley Field. No,

(01:05:44):
that's not what I'm hearing today. Oh they're dead to me. Yeah, okay,
I've seen this play more times than the King and
I okay than Greece. All right, this play will play out.
They'll be packed season tickets, ready to go hops. Bring
the Colonel. Now. The good thing about it, the White
Sox are even given. They gave a matter bro, we

(01:06:05):
get gimbro. We got two guys at the top of
the lineup, and I think Hoyer is ahead of the
game on this. The new thing in baseball is not,
thank god, the launch angle anymore, the big home run.
A lot of teams are going to go back to
contact baseball. And you got this kid Horner at short,
matter grow Uh at second, former White Sox starter. Those

(01:06:29):
guys put bad on balls. So it's good to see
that there might be some philosophical changes, you know what.
You know, it's crazy about just this run of the Cubs.
And I was talking, I was talking to my brother
about this and he failed. Well yeah that too. But
DC is the you know, one of the biggest Cub
fan I know, and I were talking about this, and
you just list the number of players that are now

(01:06:51):
not with the team anymore, and I just thought to myself,
you couldn't sign one of those guys to an extension,
not not one you couldn't lock up even remember when
they signed Rizzo, you and I were having the conversation, like, man,
they paid him pretty quick, like I mean, he hadn't
really done much and they you couldn't even figure out
a way to to sign Rizzo to an extension, Like
you couldn't get any of this done at any point

(01:07:14):
over the last couple of years. I don't think they
believe on them as individual players. Rizzo had a bad
year this year, okay number one, Uh he started hitting
Homer's late when the horses have left the barn Um.
Bias to me was the guy that I thought they
might sign. But if they didn't, I like and rarists

(01:07:34):
they're gonna keep him. Bryant when he sat out with
hamstring fatigue, not a hamstring poll, not a hamstring spring,
not a hams not a loss of leg, you know,
hamstring fatigue, which meant, you know what, it's time for
him to go, you're not taking the soft And if
he's in tears yesterday in the dugout. So I think

(01:07:56):
that that that that organizations soured on him. I think
they really he did. I think I didn't see a
lot of hustle the first base late in the games.
Later on bias trotting the first Rizzle gets a sharp
ground in a second year to night. That's your manager. Look,
when you're managers, I'm dancing with the stars because he

(01:08:16):
was a backup catcher that you all made. How does
he tell them what to do no, no, no, Hobby,
don't take the jersey out of your pants and start
a fight with Cincinnati. No, Anthony, please run the first base. Hey, buddy,
you're here because of us, And I knew that was
doom from the beginning. A buddy cannot manage a buddy. Yeah, man,

(01:08:41):
Well you know what, you know, it's great about this.
Dorothy is uh. At least at least Matt Maggie is
still the coach of the Bears, you know, so at
least you know he said the other day that Joey
had already said the other day, I might have to
call you every week because this is just comic call,
because I don't know if it reaches out to the
beautiful climate of all. He said the other day after

(01:09:01):
three years, they're gonna start practicing hard after three years,
And he also said they may they're gonna play their starters.
When I never saw a coach I've been covering the
NFL and watching it since I was a kid, over
sixty years. I never I mean you, from Tarik Cohen
to Mr Drabinski, when you didn't play them one down

(01:09:23):
in preseason, okay, one year, you jeffardize all of them
and now that's gonna change. So here's the guy that's
changing this philosophical stance. But by the way, justin Fields,
somebody said today, oh, we overthrew a ball, but it
was catchable. We're already here in it. You know, of

(01:09:43):
course we're already hearing that because I've never seen a
guy dropped like the atomic bomb. Yet everybody's got him
in the Hall of Fame. It's and you know, you know,
it's you know, it's funny about this. I was thinking
about that and you and you know this because you
know as much about the Big Ten as anybody. So
what do we always hear about Ohio State quarterbacks? And
that's the truth, none of them? And then and then

(01:10:06):
and then the Bears? What position have they never been
able to figure out? Quarterback? The quarterback? Yet we expect
those two histories to get together and everything's gonna be fine.
It's fine. This will be the one time in Ohio
State quarterback and the Bears quarterback. They figure that out.
And this guy has a Hall of Fame career. What
the hell? What are people talking about? Man? I've been

(01:10:26):
hearing everything. I mean, I mean, Dwayne Haskins, I heard
enough about him I thought that Johnny Unitus was back,
and uh, the next thing, you know, he's playing on
another team. It's all trends do matter for anybody that
thinks that. You can tell Mike North I seen him
from I saw Rex current play lead him to a
rose ball. You know what. The Baltimore Colts said, Let's
draft him and make him a safety. So they do early. Okay,

(01:10:50):
So so I've seen them all, from Braxton Miller to
you know, Terrell Prior, I've seen them all. This guy
is a project, okay, and that's what he is. But
people in Chicago seemed to think that he's the most
important guy on the team. And if they don't, if
if he starts the season, they'll be lucky to win
five games. I mean, look, you and I were in

(01:11:11):
lockstep with this um. Miss Drabinsky was absolutely I mean
he would they've ruined him, like like literally, and and
nobody's trying to pretend that Miss Drabinsky is the world's
greatest quarterback. But that guy literally saved Matt Naggy's job
absolutely and got them into the playoffs. That offense was

(01:11:33):
better when he was back under center, and they could
not wait to throw him under the bus soon enough
after the season. I couldn't absolutely because you know why,
I think once he did that to Mitch Drabinsky, I
don't think we'll every once he replaced him after Game three,
Drabinsky saved his job, but it was Drabinsky that wants
nothing to do with him, and uh, I think that

(01:11:54):
through his he's never said a word. Nobody wants to
get an interview. It's a mystery to me. He saved
Naggie's job, but Naggie will never start fields because the
fields falls on his face early, Naggy's job security gets
even more perilous. These are the same guys that said
Nick Foles was going to replace Mitch Drabinsky, who now

(01:12:16):
leaves the Bears as the highest rated quarterback ever twenty one,
is a starter through for ten thousand yards and through
for sixty six touchdowns only thirty four interceptions. But the
media and everybody else didn't like him for some reason. Well,
you finally had a homegrown quarterback, and now you let
him go to Buffalo, and as we saw with once

(01:12:36):
today going down, Mr Drabinsky is a coveted member of
the National Football League. Is probably I think the top
backup quarterback in football over the last five years. And
and on top of that, all I've ever heard great
dude teammates. Teammates love him and loved playing with him
and always had his back. I can remember when he

(01:12:59):
got benched that game against Atlanta last year because he
threw one interception. I remember the image that stuck out
to me was Khalil Mack went over and was talking
to Mitch Drabinsky after he got benched, and I've always
wondered what he said to him, because I'll bet he
said to him, Hey, man, it's not your fault. Uh,
this guy has no idea what the hell he's doing, Like,
there was no commitment to the run game. They didn't

(01:13:20):
want to rally around him. I just I thought he
got thrown under the bus from that that the media
what had it out for him? I think most of
them tag along with the Bears. They like the free mail,
the free media guys, access to the practice field. Um,
they've been wrong on everything. I was the only guy
in Chicago and I still am. Uh. The people that
didn't like Couverler, you could put in a phone booth

(01:13:42):
and be enough room for a dance floor for God's sake. Uh,
there was only a few of us. He was fifty
seven and fifty seven, and he was one in thirteen
against green Bay. They gave him eight years. Kabinski was
one and four against green Bay, broke records and they
got to get rid of them after four years. Something

(01:14:04):
may right, Something didn't smell right, and I think it
was after game three. Uh. It is Mike North, Chicago
sports radio legend, Fox Sports Radio alarm and more important,
one of my best buds in the business. Northy. Let's
catch up soon. I owe your phone call. Uh, this
is call. I got fingers, I could dial, well, I

(01:14:25):
got fingers, I can dial. Yeah, but but we need
to we need to set up a three way call you,
me and Andy Ferman and just let Firman, uh, you know,
complain about the mailing system in this country right now.
Like all I'm gonna say is all I ever meant.
I found out about the Jonas thing. We don't need
to bring Jonas in. Here's the whole story. Every time

(01:14:46):
I won an argument, or every time I was ready
to knock Andy out with an argument, he'd called, let's
bring Jonas in. Finally I had enough. That's what I remember,
man of you man, I love you too. North. You
get him on Twitter at North to North. He's the best.
I love that guy. Yeah, I love you he is.

(01:15:08):
Uh what what a good dude man that was? That
was a blast. That was a lot of fun. Uh
No to listen. I I don't say that with any
sort of hyperbole, like one of the founding fathers of
sports stock radio. Like all of this stuff exists because
the guys like Mike North and I grew up listening
to him. Uh And I always always think you've got

(01:15:30):
to acknowledge the people that laid the foundation for what
you're able to do today. Mike North was one of
those guys. Andy Ferman was one of those guys. And
and it's been awesome to get to know them, become
friends with them, and to be able to share some
of that time on the air with them. Guys I
grew up listening to, uh still some of my my
heroes in sports radio. That was a lot of fun.

(01:15:51):
I get him on Twitter again at North to North.
Uh still has never lost his fastball. That guy throws
a hundred like he the first day he cracked a mic.
Just good stuff with Northeast. This terrorists. It's Jonas Knocks
on Fox Sports Radio. Uh. Coming up next, we are
going to find out what sort of shenanigans somebody on

(01:16:14):
this show is gonna pull. They pulled some crap last week.
We will get to the bottom of that. It's yours
next here on fs ARE. We need meat Jonas Knocks,
Fox Sports Radio. Coming up in a little over ten
minutes from now here on fs ARE. There is a
team to watch out for in the NFL, and it
is a team that is going to surprise you. We

(01:16:36):
will get to that here coming up in a little
over ten minutes from now on Fox Sports Radio. Oh man,
Iowa Sam, you are such a tool. It is It
is just amazing. Uh that that s eating grin on
your face. You hear the sound coming in if you're
listening to the podcast, it is uh, what is it?
Ticket to Paradise by uh yeah, any money? Yeah, So

(01:17:01):
Iowa Sam with the with the Ticket to Paradise by
Eddie money. And the reason he's playing that is because
we're gonna play something called this something big is happening
on a grand day, a dangerous woman on the road.
Should you go and we have your tickets. It's ticket
or stick It? Who sounds hot? All right? Ryan Burr

(01:17:23):
Singer is a pain in my ass. Last week we
play ticket or stick It and he pulls some golf
event somewhere in which they're charging like seventy five bucks
to get into. So I can imagine what sort of
crap Bursch has got compiled this week. But Bursch, go ahead,
where do we start? Well, we got some good stuff
first and then and then we'll get weird with it. Uh.

(01:17:45):
First off, the game of the day in Major League
Baseball is the Astros at the Giants. You got Zach
Ranky against Alex would and it should be the debut
of Chris Bryant's assuming he shows up to San Francisco
on time. So what would you pay for that? Um?
All right, I've been to that ballpark, a beautiful all park.
The garlic fries um are like eating a sewer rat.
It's just disgusting. But I've been to the ballpark. It's

(01:18:07):
a beautiful place. You know. I will give you forty
five bucks to get into that game. Perfect, Yes, you've
got a ticket, actually twenty six dollars. That's the at
that and you can harass the Astros before they come
out down to Dodger Stadium. That would be a good time.
All right. What do we got next? We got the
Gold Cup Final at Allegiance Stadium in Vegas. It's USA

(01:18:28):
versus Mexico and the Conka Cap Gold Cup Final. By
the way, when is that tomorrow? What time? You probably
don't have that information, like who cares? But but the
point being, the in laws our our Mexican So it's
it's never like, it's never a bad time to be
the only person rooting for one team in a room

(01:18:50):
full of opposing fans Mexico, we might have to have
ourselves a little bit of a l watch party on
which I'm the only person rooting for the USA in
a household of family members. But uh, you know, to
go to that game, we can be nine bucks okay, Um,
well no, uh it is you know it's a final,

(01:19:10):
so uh, five dollars right now, three five to vivid seats.
Like people understand the US and Mexico aren't close to
even top ten teams in the in the world, right,
Like they're aware of that. Like five dollars to go
to a soccer game, Get out of my face, all right,

(01:19:32):
what else we got that. That's at five thirty tomorrow night,
by the way, Pacific time. Um so, our friend Brian
Fenley is currently on the broadcast of the adp Lexington
Challenger Kentucky. Why do you do this? If you I
believe there aren't any tickets available anymore? But I saw

(01:19:53):
the price of what the tickets were. Yeah, all right, Um,
I'll give you three bucks, and I'm not giving you
a die more than three bucks to go to that event.
Um no, no, it's not that. That's that's the price
that I saw. A hundred dollars to go to the
Finley Open. Everybody got to pay this year, so we

(01:20:14):
clear screw you, Brian. Every like a hundred dollars to
go to the Brian Finley Open, you gotta do they
people don't realized we just came out of a pandemic
like thenn't realized like avocados or seventy five dollars? Like
do they not realize that there's problems gas? All you
want to fill up a tank of gas, it's gonna
cost you two thousand dollars. They're charged a hundred bucks.

(01:20:38):
Get out of my face. What else we got? How
about us some drag Racing, the NHRC International Away and Pomona.
Why do you do this? He makes me want to
be sold fan bases. Okay, to drag racing, all right?
You want me to you want me to pay to
go to drag racing? All right, I'll give you two dollars,

(01:21:00):
two cents uhs dollars to go to a drag race,
literally to watch people blow up their cars to get
to a finish. Linears. I don't like this. This literally
blows my I'm shocked at the amount that people are

(01:21:20):
willing to charge for somebody to go to their event.
All right, last one, what have we got you like?
The Red Hot Chili Peppers Jonas not really? Okay? Well,
how about the Red Not Chili Peppers. That is the
Chili Peppers cover band playing at the Orange County Fair
and Events Center in Coasta, Mesa. All out a second,
the Red Not Chili Peppers. That's phenomenal. I'll give you.

(01:21:42):
I'll give you twelve dollars. Okay, get out of my
face and don't ever come back. I'm tired of you.
I'm tired of you. Fox Sports Radio has the best

Hawaii time, right here on Fox Sports Radio. H It
has been a wild show thus far. The reviews continue
to pour in for Mike North's appearance. He joined us
a last hour. If you missed any of that, we're

(01:22:48):
gonna bring a little bit of that back coming up
here um in about twenty minutes from now. But you
can also check out the podcast at Fox sports Radio
dot com. He was absolutely on fire, um so still
laughing at some of his commentary on the state of
the Chicago Cubs. But we will you know, as we said,
we'll bring that back coming up in about twenty minutes
from now. But we did open up the show talking

(01:23:11):
about the major injury news out of the NFL, and
that was with Carson Wentz of the Indianapolis Colts. And
my my point on on Wentz is this, I've never
been the biggest Carson Wentz fan. Um. Just like you
just you hear things. You talk to enough people and
you just hear about his personality and that he didn't

(01:23:32):
really want to compete last year when Jalen Hurts was
brought in, he was really bothered that they drafted another
quarterback um and um, which is which is puzzling considering
he was in Jalen Hurts his shoes like he saw
it play out and when you like, I've always been
a firm believer that you learn more from seeing people
do things the wrong way than doing them the right way.

(01:23:56):
Like you, you may not know how to act in
a certain situation, but you definitely know not how not
to act. Because if you see something and it, you know,
puts you off a little bit, you go, God, I
don't want to do that. Carson Wentz when he was
drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles, was brought in and Sam
Bradford basically through a fit. He was pissed because he

(01:24:18):
had just signed a contract. He felt like he was
going to get his career back on track, and then
all of a sudden, they move up in the draft
and they take Carson Wentz and Bradford was pissed, and
the organization was like, all right, well, you know there's
there's an opportunity to just move on from this. We
don't want to want to deal with it. So you know,
Teddy Bridgewater got injured, the Eagles saw the opportunity. They

(01:24:40):
traded him to the Minnesota Vikings, and the rest of
his history. They handed the keys to Carson Wentz. You
would have thought him seeing that up close and personal,
he would know how not to act or how not
to handle that type of situation. Man. Four years later,
they draft Jalen Hurts and all he did was through
a bit about it piste him off, and I get

(01:25:02):
being piste off. But there were reports that came out
of Philadelphia that man he didn't like the fact that
he had to compete for his job. He didn't like it.
I mean, he probably also didn't like the fact that
his backup quarterback want a Super Bowl with him. So
all of that being said, the reality with Carson Wentz
is this talented guy has played at a high level,

(01:25:24):
and there's always that butt at the end of it. Man,
Carson Wentz. You know, m v T m v P
type season. Man that Carson Wentz. What a year he
had in seventeen, but he got injured, Man, Carson Wentz.
You know the next season, he came back, gutted through,
wanted to play, was okay even playing injured, but but

(01:25:47):
he got injured and they couldn't play him. Yeah. Well,
Carson Wentz finally got his team to the playoffs. You know,
they got to the postseason. They were hosting a playoff
game against the Seattle Seahawks, but he got injured there too.
He got injured his rookie season, before the preseason. He
was up banged up last year. And now he gets

(01:26:08):
to the Indianapolis Colts and we're not even at the
first preseason and we're not even through the first week
of training camp. He's got another injury. Felt to pop.
You know, there's some people out there that are throwing
out Liz Frank that it could be a Liz Frank issue,
which means probably surgery. Uh, you know, probably they're reporting
that he's going to be out indefinitely. Some of the

(01:26:28):
reports early on, we're, oh, it's you know, we're optimistic,
and then you're hearing a little less optimism. He's gonna
see a second specialist. But all of this is Carson
Wentz continues to get injured. And the comparison I made was, sometimes,
even if it's not your fault, it becomes part of
who you are. If you've got a car that continues
to break down and it's making you late to work,

(01:26:50):
your boss has empathy with you. Hey, I've been there.
I know what it's like to drive a beater. I
know what it's like to not be able to rely
on your car to get you to work. But you're
you're still being You're still late. I mean like, at
some point I have to address this and I have
to include that as part of your story, and part
of Carson Wentz. His story is he's always getting injured.
And so now the reports out there are all right,

(01:27:13):
so what did the Indianapolis Colts do? I mean, Carson
Wentz probably isn't gonna like this. Uh, people have thrown
out Nick Foles. Nick Foles is the third string quarterback
in Chicago. You got Andy Dalton, You've got Justin Fields,
you got Nick Foles. He's sitting there. There's an opportunity
if this goes on for a lengthy amount of time

(01:27:34):
and you don't trust that Jacob Eason out of Washington,
who they drafted a year ago, can be your guy
to try and win some games for you. Nick Foles
does know that Frank Reich system, and he there is
an opportunity to make a move to grab Nick Foles
like that opportunity is there. That opportunity exists, And look,

(01:27:58):
Frank Reich, you gotta feel bad for him us from
the standpoint that he's never really been able to have
a solidified quarterback in his room. There's always been an
issue at quarterback. And so when you see all of
this stuff happening and all of this stuff surrounding the
Indianapolis Colts, somebody's gonna benefit. And so I'm not telling

(01:28:19):
you that I believe that this is going to happen.
I'm just presenting this to you as a possibility. And
just hear me out. Who's the team. If Indianapolis now
finds themselves in a tough year because their quarterback gets injured,
who's the team in the a f C South. Let's

(01:28:40):
just focus just on the a f C South. Which
team do you think benefits from that? There's an easy answer,
the Tennessee Titans. They added Julio Jones. You know they've
they've got Derrick Henry. You feel like offensively, they're going
to be in a lot of games. That's an easy answer.
Tennessee seems like the team you would go with. In fact,

(01:29:00):
even with the healthy Carson Wentz. There's a lot of
people that like Tennessee better than they like Indianapolis. I'm
not really one of them. I would have taken Indianapolis,
but I was a lot higher on Indianapolis last year
than a lot of people were because I like the roster.
I like the way they're constructed. I think Frank WREK's
a good coach. It feels like they've got all the tools.
They just maybe wanted to to look at upgrading or

(01:29:21):
getting younger at the quarterback position, and they felt like
they got a guy who could revitalize his career. So
Tennessee would be the team that you would look at
instantly and say that's the team that's going to benefit
because you cross off the Houston Texans, right, I mean,
look elsewhere in the division. The Texans are a disaster.
I mean, like we like we've gone from Deshaun Watson

(01:29:43):
is going to get suspended to Deshaun Watson is playing
scout team safety at practice. The hell is happening? Man? Like,
what are we doing here? Like? What the hell is
happening with that whole situation? So Houston feels like a mess.
What about the Jacksonville Jaguars? All right, now you're gonna
think I'm crazy, but let me just present it to

(01:30:04):
you like this. If you feel like that, you like
the Tennessee Titans, but you're not crazy about him because
maybe you think Derrick Henry is gonna break down. They're
I mean they're rushing him and grinding him into the
ground for the past couple of years. They've already paid him,
so they're gonna get their money's worth. It's like when

(01:30:25):
you trade for a picture at the deadline. The Brewers
did this years ago with CC Sabathia. Brewers traded for
CC Sabathia the deadline because they were trying to make
a playoff push. They knew they weren't gonna be able
to afford him in the off season. And so you
know what the Brewers did the last couple of months
of the season, pitched him as much as they possibly could. Oh,
you got arm fatigue, not our problem. That that that's

(01:30:49):
somebody else's problem in free agency that they can figure
that out. Well, this is just this is a rental,
That's what this is. We know we're not gonna pay you.
So while we got you, we already made the trade.
We're gonna use you. Well, the Tennessee Titans, while they've
got Derrick Henry, they've already paid him, may as well
use him. And so if you think there could be
a potential downgrade for the Titans just because Derrick Henry

(01:31:12):
maybe can't handle the same workload. And as we saw
in the playoff game last year, when you got to
rely on Ryan Tannehill with no running game, it's a
little bit different Ryan Tannehill than what you see putting
up these huge numbers with A. J. Brown and some
of the other guys there. So if you're not crazy
about Tennessee, and if you know that Houston's a disaster.

(01:31:33):
Let me present to you Jacksonville. We've been hearing about
urban Meyer and how he's one of the great coaches,
not just at the NFL level or at the college level,
and this being his first NFL run, but just football period.
You hear great things about urban Meyer. You got players

(01:31:54):
there who have already been called out by urban Meyer
that have already rallied around him. DJ Shark, I mean,
he's a good wide receiver. He's put he's a good
he's had good numbers. He's put up good numbers over
the past couple of years. Last year was a little
bit of a down year. Urban Meyer called him out.
D J Shark loved it. Yeah, no, listen, I'm all in,

(01:32:17):
all in. Like people want to dismiss urban Meyer, but
he is respected and you hear him talk and and
the way he's getting the fan base and everybody they're
excited saying, hey man, that bleep has got to stop
when we've got opposing fans coming to come to our game.
So you've got urban Meyer there. If if Trevor Lawrence
is as good as everybody says he is, and if

(01:32:40):
Trevor Lawrence comes in and plays at a high level.
And we've seen rookie quarterbacks play at a high level.
We've seen it Justin Herbert a year ago, Joe Burrow
before he got injured. We've seen rookie quarterbacks come in
and play at a high level. If Trevor Lawrence is good,
and if Urban Meyer is as good as everybody says

(01:33:02):
he is, why wouldn't the Jacksonville Jaguars be a dark
horse contender in that division? Nobody's running away with that division.
If Indianapolis is banged up, if Tennessee can't rely on
Derrick Henry, and if Houston is a disaster, why wouldn't
Jacksonville at least be worth a peak when you're looking

(01:33:24):
at a dark horse team in that division. I think
their season win total is it like six or so?
I already like this the over. I already think they're
gonna win the They're gonna get hit the over on that.
They're like a plus seven fifty to win the division,
which means you better, Hunter Bucks, you're gonna win seven
fifty dollars. I'm telling you, man, I I really believe

(01:33:45):
Jacksonville has got a shot. And you're gonna think I'm
nuts and a lot of this is people don't like
urban Meyer. They want to see him fail. They maybe
think he's arrogant. Uh, they didn't like some of you know,
some of the stuff that yeah he allowed to go
on at Florida and some of the other stuff at
oh Iowa stayed and they go all but and then
he hires Iowa's strength and conditioning coach or the strength coach,

(01:34:06):
and there was a checkered pass there, and then how
dare he bring in Tim tebow to to try out
at tight end? Like people just assume, oh, this is
gonna be a mess man, this is gonna be a
complete disaster. Guys never even coached the game in the NFL,
and they're already writing him off. But what if he's
actually good? What if players on that team like a

(01:34:29):
DJ shark rally around him like they already have, And
what if Trevor Lawrence, who we've been hearing is one
of the great quarterback prospects in a long long time.
We've heard John Elway, we've heard Andrew Luck, and we've
heard Trevor Lawrence. Can't miss, can't miss, can't miss. If
he's good, why the hell couldn't the Jacksonville Jaguars compete

(01:34:53):
in that division. I think they got a legitimate shot.
Jonas Knocks, Fox Sports Radio, Get beyond Twitter at the
Jonas Knocks at the Jonas Knocks on Twitter, and we're
gonna take you all the way up until ten and
Pacific time one pm Eastern time right here on Fox
Sports Radio. Coming up next. Um, if you are a
die hard fan, all right, if you are a fan
of a team, you love this team, you root for

(01:35:15):
this team. It hurts when they lose. There is a
reality to your situation that we are going to expose
and we're gonna have it for you next year on
fs ARE Jonas Knocks, Fox Sports Radio coming up in uh,
we'll call about ten minutes from now here on fs ARE.
We are going to get to the scraps some things

(01:35:35):
in the world of sports we have not had a
chance to get to their yours ten minutes from now
here on fs ARE. Iowa. Sam is our technical producer
here at Fox Sports Radio kinda enough to actually show
up for work this week. What what a what a
great individual he is, harness working man in the business. Um,
for those of you listening on the podcast, you're playing
c k y the band c K y uh, and

(01:35:56):
one of the members is related to one of the
Jackass eyes. Correct, that's right. Yeah, Bam mar Jar's brother
was the drummer. I believe. How's Bam doing? He's still alive? Yeah,
my god, but whole Cogan tweeted once that he was like,
we're sorry, we miss your brother, and he's like, he
tweeted back out and he's like, hey, I'm still here. Yeah,

(01:36:17):
he's he's still alive. But that being said, the reason
I bring it up, there's a new Jackass movie out,
isn't there? I believe that isn't there. There's a new
coming out. Okay, let's go live two are I have
a thought? Jackass insider Ryan bur Shinger for the latest
burs Jack asked for listen. Uh, yeah, I might check

(01:36:40):
that out. Who knows. I mean, Johnny Knoxville is looking
old though, man, I mean he's like and I don't
mean that is like insulting that he's, you know, an
older man, because you know, he's had a hell of
a career. But I mean old meaning I'm not sure
his body can take the punishment that it's been taking anymore.
Like like he looks like he's, uh, you know, really
really had to wear it for for a little while now.

(01:37:03):
But yeah, well we'll check that out then. All right, um,
let's get into this conversation there is listen, And I'm
not trying to pick on anybody, all right, I'm not
trying to you know, to be too insulting. But there
are a lot of fan boys and fan girls out there.
They're just are people that that really really root for

(01:37:26):
their team, right, and they do so so loyally. They
don't they don't realize that it's almost a detriment, you know,
it's it's almost a m not that not that it's
embarrassing or anything like that, because I think it's great
be a fan, cheer for your team, love your team,
all of that, But there are realities to the way

(01:37:50):
business works, and you can point to a lot of
examples in which the team doesn't really care about you,
like they just they they don't care. And so when
you see things happen with certain fan bases, you just
know immediately, oh yeah, because this team accomplished that, it's

(01:38:11):
gonna be a long time before they accomplish it ever again.
Like I can remember being on the air and seeing
the Philadelphia Eagles when the Super Bowl a couple of
years ago, and I remember I did the post Super
Bowl show with Brady Quinn and the game had just ended,
and I remember saying on the air, hey man, I
would enjoy it if I were Philadelphia because this ain't

(01:38:33):
happening again for a while. Said it on the air,
And it wasn't, you know, trying to be a hot take,
And it wasn't because you know, they didn't have a
great roster. Because they did, they had a very good roster.
It's why they were able to win a super Bowl
with their backup quarterback. But my point was they're going
to be celebrating this so hard that it's almost like
you take your foot off the gas. You don't have

(01:38:54):
to worry about it ever again. Like if you're a
fan of a team who wins a championship the first
one in a long time, more often than not, that
team never returns to that same glory because people are
just gonna be celebrating that championship for as long as
they can like it. It is going to be celebration. Uh,

(01:39:16):
They're gonna be so excited about it, they're gonna be
crying they're gonna be emotional. They're gonna man, when the
Red Sox one in OH three, they wanted back, and
they came back and wanted No. Seven. But I remember
having a conversation with Kevin Millar. He was I was
doing a show here on Fox Sports Radio, and Kevin
Millar was one of those guys who won a World Series.

(01:39:36):
And he's a great interview and a great MLB analyst
and he does some work with MLB Network now. But
Kevin Millar came on the show and I asked him,
I said, Hey, after the OH three season, when you
guys came back, did you feel like there was a
little bit of a hangover effect, like almost like uh?
And he said absolutely, He's all. We came back and

(01:39:58):
it was like we were tired. We were just so
sort of worn down, sort of exhausted, sort of you know,
just like there was a hangover effect. And it wasn't
for another couple of years, I think oh seven, when
they won another World Series. And so I say all
that because what you saw in Chicago over the past
couple of days is exactly what was going to happen

(01:40:20):
the second the Cubs won a World Series. That was
it like that they're just the fan base is so
loyal that they're almost too loyal. And one of my
my favorite stories to come out of that World Series too,
And I say, this is somebody who grew up a
Cub fan. I grew up a cub fan. We were

(01:40:42):
raised Cub fans. My dad is from a small town
in Monmouth, Illinois. Um, it's on the western part of
the state. And because you're not it's a two hour
train right to Chicago. I know that because I've taken
a train from from Galesburg, which is right next door
to Monmouth. Uh. And I know that, by the way,
one time a Fox Sports radio affiliate. I'm not sure

(01:41:02):
if they still are w G I l in Gaelsburg. Why.
I know that because I'm a radio nerd. That's what
radio nerds know. But my dad, so in that part
of the state, you grow up you're either a white
Sox fan or a Cubs fan. My dad grew up
a Cups fan. He had siblings that were white Sox fans,
and so we grew up Cubs fans. And and my
dad actually passed away a couple of months before the

(01:41:24):
Cubs won the World Series, and so it was emotional
for us just because we wish he could have seen it,
and that that exists all the way through that entire
fan base that existed for Eagles fans, that existed for
Red Sox fans, like there are fan bases. You're listening
to this right now. If you're a fan of a
team that hasn't done it in a long time, I

(01:41:46):
promise you, when they do it, it's gonna be emotional
for you, not because they won, but because you're thinking
about all the people that aren't there to get to
see it with you. That's where the emotion comes from.
And so when you saw the Cubs and the emotion
pouring out all of that's like it was just, I mean,
it was heartwarming. You see all these people talking about

(01:42:07):
their grandfathers who couldn't be here, why how they became
a Cub fans because their mom was a Cub fan
and she's no longer with him, and and all of
that stuff, and and it led to right outside the
walls on Wrigley Field, people were writing tributes in chalk
to the Cubs Like that is how loyal that fan

(01:42:27):
base is. They were writing tributes on the wall outside
Wrigley Field, saying this is from my grandfather who passed away.
This is from my great great grandmother who wasn't here
to see it. And these people, they're showing video and
footage of these people writing these tributes, these emotional tributes
on the wall outside Wrigley Field. They've got tears in
their eyes. They're hugging their newborn children, trying to, you know,

(01:42:49):
whisper in their ear. The stories of how they became
a Cub fan and how much it means to them,
and it's so emotional. And then a week later, the
city came by and hosted all down. They don't care.
They don't care. I mean, it's a joke. So there's

(01:43:14):
one thing to be loyal, there's one thing to really
celebrate your team, and then there's the reality that comes
with it that listen, man, this is a business, all right.
It is a business. And so I bring all that
up because we had a chance to catch up with
Mike North Chicago Sports Radio Legend last hour, and we
spoke about this Cubs fan base and how they could

(01:43:39):
say whatever they want, they could try and be as
emotional as they want. Fact of the matter is all
of these people saying word out on the Cubs. We
won't be back. We're not going to Wrigley Field. My ass,
you'll be back because you always do come back. They've
been doing this forever, you know, and you know what
they do with like a small market team. There's such

(01:44:00):
a big market team. If the Dodgers can retool and
everything else, why can't they? And when theo Epstein left,
that was a surefire signed. They were giving up, you know,
even though Jed Hoyer, I think it's gonna follow the
same game plan. I think Hoyer said we can't win
with this group, hey, you know, and then they lose
Lester Area. Yet it is not the same Starvish never

(01:44:21):
really worked out, and when he did work out, they
got rid of him. Schwarber ends up being an All Star.
So it's just been a debaccle it really has. I mean, really,
most of the Cup fans that that are young are
today morning that lallapaloos, like, gone, what day is that?
You know what I made? So you know what I mean?
Guys going, why is my shoe in my mouth? It's

(01:44:44):
just so true, It's so true. But listen, that's why
I don't That's why I'm not a fan anymore. You know,
like it's exactly why I mean, root for your team,
be excited about him, but just understand, listen, you know,
like like that, don't be so committed to specific players,
root for your franchise. All of that is good, but look,

(01:45:06):
I mean, how many times you gotta get burned? You
know how many people in Chicago right now are walking around,
uh in shame because they've got an Anthony Rizzo jersey
that they paid eighty dollars for. I mean, listen, I've
made those mistakes. You don't know. I remember being hammered.
This is a true story, hammered in Wrigleyville, walking around

(01:45:27):
Chicago by myself, hammered, and I thought it was a
great idea to buy the authentic, not the replica, the
authentic Giovanni Sodo jersey of the Cubs. I think I
wore twice and they traded him. So, I mean, listen,
there's just there's a business side all this. I'm just

(01:45:49):
trying to point that out to people, all right. Not
trying to be heartless, all right, not trying to be cruel.
I'm just trying to point out point that out to people.
Posing down the shock tributes A week later, one of
the one of the great sites of all time. All Right,
Jonas knocks Fox Sports Trading. Coming up next, we are
gonna have the scraps things in the world of sports
We've not had a chance to get to. But for
all the latest from around the world of sports, it

(01:46:11):
is none other that Isaac Longcron Jonas. Moments ago in
the NFL Washington football team head coach Ron Rivera announced
that four time Pro Bowl offensive guard Brandon Schurf and
offensive tackle David Sharpe are going on the COVID reserve list. Rivera,
who has expressed frustration at his team's vaccination rate, said today,

(01:46:31):
quote what if this had been game day for the opener? Unquote. Elsewhere,
the Indianapolis Colts have just signed free agent quarterback Brett Huntley.
Adam Schefter reported earlier today that four time Pro Bowl
pass rusher Justin Houston has agreed to a one year
deal with the Baltimore Ravens. Houston spent the past two
seasons with the Indianapolis Colts. During that time, he combined

(01:46:54):
for nineteen sacks and three safeties. It is one thirty
two a m Sunday morning in Tokyo at the Olympics,
as we speak. On Saturday night, the US men's basketball
team advanced to the quarterfinal round with a one nineteen
eighty four win over the Czech Republic. Team USA trailed
that game by seven after one, but outscored the Czech

(01:47:16):
Republic after that by forty two. They hit twenty three
pointers in the game. Also Saturday night at the Olympics,
Jamaica's Elaine Thompson hurrah on the women's one hundred by
the time of ten point six one seconds, breaking Florence
Griffith joiners thirty three year old Olympic record by one
hundred of a second. Jonas, thank you, Isaac. It is

(01:47:41):
Jonas Knox here on Fox Sports Radio. Coming up fifteen
minutes from now here on FS are um, there there's
a story in sports like can we just I think
it is one of the most overblown NFL stories that
I've heard in a long time. All Right, don't fall
victim to it. We will have that for here coming
up in about fifteen minutes from now on Fox Sports Radio.

(01:48:04):
Right now, though, it is time for something we do
on the show called this How could you not get to?
These stories? Are the scraps, and for that we turn
it over to Isaac Lowenkron to find out what the
hell we've missed so far on the show, I Jonas,
have you seen the Tony LaRussa video yet where he

(01:48:24):
was running out he was upset because one of his
guys got drilled in the face. Yes, have you seen this?
I've seen the video alright, So just to reset, this
happens in last night's game between Larussa's White Sox and Cleveland.
This is the White Sox jose A bre You getting
hit in the helmet with a pitch. And here's the

(01:48:46):
how it sounded on White Sox Radio on w m
v P with Lynn Casper helmet same is down. It
was a fastball. Tony l. Russa runs out and he
tries to get up. Joe mckilling, Josh Fallon are out
and now Tony getting a little argument with Roberto Perez.

(01:49:10):
Roberto was checking on him and I think Tony said
not to. And now the benches it cleared, the bullpens
it cleared now, thankfully, jose A bray You was okay.
But actually what was trending and went viral last night
was indeed the video of the seventy six year old
LaRussa running out there now here to describe the way

(01:49:32):
the seventy six year old LaRussa was running our own
Jonahs knocks, I mean, well, I mean, I'm not gonna
pick on the guy. What do you wanna do? Have
you trying to get out there as fast as he could.
I'm not going to pick on the guy. Isn't that
how you Isn't that how your star has risen? First

(01:49:53):
of all in this industry? All right? First of all,
by the way, how about the fact that Lenn Casper
left the Cubs for the White Socks last offseason? We
talk about talk about getting off the Titanic at Southampton. God,
you're not kid man didn't even have to move and
went from the worst situation in Major League Baseball to
one of the best. I mean, and and also, like,

(01:50:14):
here's why I'm not gonna pick on on Tony Larus Isaac.
He's been People have taken shots at him all year
long about some of his baseball decisions, some of his
managerial decisions. I saw somebody criticize him because there was
a runner on second base or runner on first base,
nobody out and he had a guy bunt to move
the guy over, and he was getting crushed for it. Oh,

(01:50:36):
this is a this is an outdated baseball move, Isaac.
We grew up on that move. Remember back in the day,
there was something called the National League style of play
where they would say, Hey, because you're you've got a
picture up to bat, you want to lay a bunt
down to move the guy to second base, and you'll
take your chances with trying to get a base hit
at the top of the order and drive that run in.

(01:50:58):
Manufacturer run, get him on, get him over again, him
that that was the that was how it was done.
Larissa got crushed for the man. The white socks are good.
So all I keep hearing about is how all Tony
LaRussa used this and he's that he's doing something right now.
I wouldn't. I wouldn't trust him to get behind the
wheel of a car. I'll just say that that's what

(01:51:18):
I was looking for, Okay. I'll just say you look,
when you're asleep at a red light. I don't know
about you, that seems like a bad place to take
a nap. And I'm just saying that's there. There are
better places to take a nap. Many people have slept
on a floor at Fox Sports Radio and they got
a quick turnaround and they got a show coming. I
think you and I have probably both done that before

(01:51:40):
we have. I listened they used to have a couch upstairs.
They did, and then they took it away. They did. Yeah,
that was that was That was cruel and unusual punishment
for a lot of people in Fox Sports Radio. I've
slept in my car before in between shifts, because what's
the point of sitting in traffic when you gotta come
right back. I just feel like Tony Larissa could have
probably have found at a place to take a nap

(01:52:01):
and at a red light. Let's go live to our
I may have taken a nap at a red light
insider Iowa Sam for the latest. No, not that, but
I just wanted to update our listening to audience that
we do have a couch now on our main floor
here at Fox Sports Radio. There is owned by Nicki six, right,
and we'll just take your word. By the way, Isaac,

(01:52:23):
remember when Nicki six was walking the halls of a
Fox Sports radio very very well. Remember he we had
him on for an interview one time. He was on
with Jay Moore, uh and uh. He wanted to make
it seem like he knew sports, and so he was
asking about the Washington quarterback and he said, how's our
GB looking? That is a drop in the system. You

(01:52:46):
can find that on the John Ramos wall whenever r
G three was brought up. But there's a NICKI six
drop going, how's our GB looking? So the glory do
you do? This is NICKI six? Just so you know,
I'm not full of app How RB looking right there?

(01:53:06):
I never knew? I never knew about this? How did
I not know about this? Perhaps he was just asking
about the Washington football team's uniform color palette because r
g B is actually a system of numbers used to
identify specific shades of color. So maybe he was just

(01:53:29):
asking how their uniforms look in the r g B format.
I'm sure that's what he was truly talking. That could
have been it, That could have been it. And the
glee that you hear in Isaac's voice is because he's
now he's now got a drop that he's going to
go to any time something is brought up that has
anything to do with r g B or any of

(01:53:51):
those letters. You're gonna play NICKI six saying how's r
G B looking well? Speaking that this is a perfect
segue by you be cousin a related story about former
former highly touted quarterbacks entering the pro ranks, we have
a Johnny Manzella date for you. John next side him
in the scraps, he accept he's trying to make it

(01:54:12):
now as a professional golfer and accepted a sponsor exemption
this week to participate in the Texas State Open. Now. Unfortunately,
he finished dead last in the field, shooting a seventy
nine in the opening round and then a seventy five
in the second round, which to me is actually not
too terrible. But what's notable is that his opening round

(01:54:39):
was derailed because he showed up at the course on
Thursday wearing shorts, and he didn't know that that was
not allowed via the golf club's dress code. So he
had to quickly change out of his shorts, find and
procure pants, and had to arrive at the first t

(01:55:00):
without warming up, hitting any balls on the driving range,
and so on and so forth. So he did not
get off to the best start because of that wardrobe malfunction.
I mean, like they're still pulling that crap of golf
courses like you have no idea. It's ridiculous. You remember
back in the day when you would never see somebody
on television with a tattoo, or or if if there

(01:55:22):
was an analyst on television, it had to be a
suit and tie man. TV's kind of or you had
to shave mary couples sleeping in separate beds. Yeah, like TV,
even in sports television, they're now relaxed on all Right,
you gotta go t fine, you gotta beard, fine, you
got a tattoo shown, that's fine too. You want to
wear short sleeves, go for it. Like even in television,

(01:55:45):
they've relaxed a lot of that stuff to where they've said, then,
you know, maybe we're a little bit uptight in golf.
You still can't wear shorts. Like, I don't like this.
This is ridiculous. By the by the way, you want
to know this shocked me? You don't. Johnny Manziel won
the Heisman almost ten years ago. Has it been that long?
I know I was thinking about I was looking at

(01:56:07):
the list of Heisman winners recently because again I have
no life, and I saw twelve Johnny Manzel I thought,
Jesus man, like, that's a long time ago. Now, I know, Jonas,
you have this, I'm guessing you have this impression of
me as a straight laced professional who always follows rules

(01:56:27):
and regulations to the teed. Is that about right? Yeah?
I mean yeah, I mean you know, I don't. I mean,
I don't think you're still a drug addict. But I'm yeah,
I'm gonna say straight, lace, through and through, Risen, I
appreciate that. Well. Would you believe that I once pulled
a Johnny Manziel at the Exalted Riviera country Club. I
showed up not to play golf, but for an event

(01:56:51):
that I was invited to, wearing jeans, and I was
denied entry, despite the fact that I actually went on
their website light and read their dress code, which said
nothing about jeans. So I showed up in jeans and
I was not allowed on the premises. So I vary,

(01:57:11):
with a great deal of verbal dexterity, begged and asked
if anybody had a pair of spare pants. So they
had a pair of spare pants that was three sizes
big and graciously allowed me to borrow them and enter
the facility. And I consider myself really fortunate that I
was not taken out by a sniper because of showing

(01:57:31):
up in jeans. That's that is ridiculous. I mean, come on, man,
like that that's a bit much. I remember I walk
showing up to this club and they said that I
couldn't get in because I had a white T shirt on.
I swear, I swear to God. And I remember asking, like,
what what's wrong with the white T shirt? Not allowed? Yeah,

(01:57:52):
but how come just that to our rules? Not allowed? Okay,
but why gang affiliations? Well, dude, I if a white
T shirt means that I'm in a gang, then then
I gotta I gotta throw away everything in my closet
like I've I've got to now update my resume at
to include gang member because I've got a bunch of
white teas in my closet. Like some of these, some

(01:58:13):
of these dress code violations don't make sense. Tired of it.
I have like a dozen white I did not know
that I was skirting danger at every turn. In our
final item on this edition of Scraps, Florida Man, a
man was hospitalized with non threatening, non life threatening injuries

(01:58:34):
to his arm after allegedly egging on the jaguars, not
the Jacksonville Jaguars, but actual jaguars at the Jacksonville Zoo
and Gardens Wednesday afternoon. He was agitating the jaguars, stuck
his hand into the jaguar pen and was clawed by
one of them. The deputy director of the zoo said,

(01:58:56):
this is an individual that was not using his head.
He stuck his hand in through the mesh. If the
jaguar had been able to latch on, it would have
been a very different story. Another witness said they saw
employees cleaning up quote a trail of blood while the
man was taken away with his arm a bandaged. What
an idiot like? It's stuff like that. It's like the

(01:59:18):
running of the bulls in Spain. Every time something happens
to one of those guys, I just go, hey, man,
I listened. I'm sorry man. Thoughts and the condolences to
the family members, But you know you get what you
paid for, all right. This is you want you want
to throw yourself into the ring. That's what happens this guy.
That guy's an idiots And a related story, the jaguar
involved has been signed to bolster the Jaguars football teams

(01:59:42):
Front seven and that's it, prescribes unbelievable. You're gonna attack
my a f C South dark horse contender Jacksonville Jaguars
like that. But of course there of course, all right,
good stuff from Isaac Loan cry Fox Sports Radio coming
up back. So there's a story in sports that just
needs to go away. It is an overblown NFL story

(02:00:02):
that's yours next year. On Fox Sports Radio, I hug you,
but you're not wearing pants, Jonas knocks Fox Sports Radio
coming up in a ten minutes from now here. On
fs ARE it is another edition of Up on Game
with my guy, LaVar Arrington, always a good listen. And look,
I'm telling people, this has to get done. If you

(02:00:23):
want LaVar to be at fully focused and locked in
on the show, you gotta have some sort of a
cooking show on one of the televisions in the studio.
That man is a grilling show, fiend. We watch. We
work together do an out kick in the mornings. So
that's just a little a little bit of a heads
up there for the production staff. Yeah, if you want

(02:00:43):
to if you want to keep the talent happy, listen, Yeah,
and I know t J Houshman Zada A great dude.
I know plastical Burr's I understand, Sam. I don't need
to be yelled at my ear, I understand. But you
know I work with Lavars. I wanted to give him
a little bit of love. All right, let me ball
let me ball wash you. I want to ball wash here.
All right. It's my business, not yours. All right. Um,

(02:01:04):
with that being said, can we just stop talking about
the Tom Brady knee injury. I'm tired of it. I'm
tired of it. Like we've we've got I mean, like
one of his teammates is commenting saying, I thought everybody
knew he had a major knee injury, and then we're
hearing a report that it's it's news because Tom Brady,
for the first time in a long time, he's going

(02:01:26):
without a sleeve on his knee. Dude, if the knee
injury was that bad, why the hell was he bombed
on a boat after the Super Bowl? Or anybody that's
ever suffered a knee injury before. You know, one of
the things that you gotta deal with is trusting that
knee in compromise situations. I've had a knee injury let
me tell you something. After I dislocated my kneecap, tore

(02:01:49):
my meniscus, ripped up a bunch of ligaments, had a
bone bruise. You know the one place I wasn't gonna
be hanging out if I had a couple of cocktails
on a boat where all sorts of bad stuff can happen.
People fall. Listen, people fall off boats when they're sober.
What the hell do you think that looks like when
when they're hammered. If his knee injury was that bad,

(02:02:12):
the guy wouldn't have been bombed on a boat after
the super Bowl. Let's just end the story. He's already
got enough accolades. We don't need to turn him into
it too, even more of a folk hero because he
underwent a procedure during the off season. Come on, enough enough,
this has been a fun show. I appreciate that you
guys hanging out with us. Here you can check out

(02:02:33):
