Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is the best of the Jason Smith Show on
Fox Sports Radio. Greetings, welcome inside. We begin sweet sixteen
weekend The Jason Smith Show with my best friend Mike Harmon,
live from the Geico Studios where fifteen minutes can save
you and more in car insurance. For more information, please

(00:24):
visit Geico dot com. So already we're seeing some excitement.
Already people are piling on see chasing your mid major
take is awful. Oh my god, people are just stupid
that right now. At halftime, it need to take you ane.

(00:47):
It is a minute to declare people are stoopid. Do
do do do people? Kansas State leads Kentucky at halftime,
third three, twenty nine. Apparently Kentucky like Dumbledore and half
blood Prince drinking sorry spoiler alert, drinking poison. Drinking the

(01:11):
poison that could ruin everything, the poison that John Calipari
warned against. Don't drink the poison now, the poison is
the crass. Six fouls in the first half. Kentucky shot
twenty three free throws, sixteen of twenty three from the line.
In the first half. They're down four. They shot six

(01:34):
of twenty three from the field. That's how miserable their
fourteen turnovers twenty six falls. Just a miserable slog of
a first You know why that happened because Kentucky dragged
poison before the game. They all drank the poison that
Calipari said, don't drink the poisons poison Sason spot them

(02:02):
in a freezer full effect. Huh, you're ready, Ron, I'm
ready ready. Don't drink that poison yet. With a picture
of Californ drink that poison sitting there with goggle lab
goggles and a flask. Don't drink the poison. The poison meanwhile,

(02:23):
closing in on the end of the first half, forty
five seconds left Florida State with a thirty nine thirty
two lead over Gonzaga as they try to move on
to take on Michigan. Why Michigan, Florida State, but would
be great in football too, It doesn't matter what it is.
We have a great match up there. So they lead
by seven. Earlier. Speaking of Michigan, they played really hard

(02:44):
for five minutes and they blew the doors off at
Texas A and M two. Well love more on that
game coming up in a bit, But the game of
the night so far Loyola Chicago, Sister Jean t j
oh the time has come. Don't you know that you're
the only one to say, okay motoring? Yeah yeah, mo

(03:15):
Terra And and this is my nightmare. I'm gonna scissor
kick you in the back of the hand. Loyola holds
off Nevada sixty nine. And I need to answer critics
about the whole Jason, your mid major take is blowing
up in your face. No, you're just not God. Why

(03:38):
is the criticism, particularly of this game erroneous When I
said on Monday, this is now day four of This
is day four of of of mid major gate. Here
on the show, there should be lower third. That's updating.
We are raising the debate in this country, Mike Harmon

(03:58):
every second of every next every time someone says something.
And now people with check marks are getting they want
to get into the conversation. Now actually lists. And that's
the point is that Loyola winning does not blow my
opinion of mid majors shouldn't be allowed in the tournament
out because you need to pay attention. If you didn't

(04:21):
pay attention, that's okay, I'll tell you. Mid majors don't
belong because they don't play the schedule. They don't earn
it like the Power five type conferences do. They just don't.
They don't play as tough a schedule. They play teams
that aren't nearly as good, but yet they're given a
chance for a one and done game during the tournament.
Doesn't mean they can't win. Never said that. First thing

(04:43):
I said, in fact was doesn't mean the teams can't win,
because we've seen the mid majors win. So now suddenly
a mid major team wins, and oh, by the way,
beating another mid major. You know, people want to leave
that out of the conversation. But that's okay, because you know,
I'm I'd be a much better lawyer than most people.
You want to leave that part out. Oh yeah, because
they beat it. Now they beat Nevada. Now they've beat Nevada,

(05:04):
another mid major. It's okay. It doesn't mean they can't
win because obviously they can win obviously any given Sunday.
It works. We've seen it in college basketball. We've seen
mid major teams can beat Power five teams, but you
have to earn your way into the tournament, and mid
majors don't do it. They generally just don't. They don't
play the schedule everybody else does. If they played in

(05:25):
a c C schedule and played twenty games against a
CC teams or eighteen games, they're going five and thirteen,
four and fourteen, they're going five hundred maybe overall. And
that's not getting into the tournament. If you're luck, if
you're a really good mid major, you're going five hundred overall.
I'd like just once, you know, we should do. Get

(05:46):
Gonzaga mark for you get your best team at Gonzaga.
Is this your best team? Come play in a CC schedule,
play for one season, and let's see how you do.
Let's see how all your all your best, you get
your best play in a CC schedule, Play a big
twelve schedule. Let's see how you do. Play SEC schedule.
Let's see I play a big ten schedule. Let's see
how you do. I'm leaving the pack twelve out from
this year. You have to. You've just got to push

(06:06):
that aside. Play that schedule and see how you do.
Tell me if you're still twenty eight and three or
you're twenty five and five, you're not. You're really not.
So that's the point. That's the point. It's not they can't,
but of course mid majors can win it all is
a great story, Sister Jean keeps rolling through the n
c A tournament. But you gotta earn your way in right,
And we're never gonna know unless they totally totally shuffle

(06:27):
up and deal the way this is done and and
blow up conferences altogether, which is not gonna happen because
there's too many gobs and piles of money associated there
in so that's not gonna happen. So we're never gonna
get apples to apples. So you you try to jumble
it all up, and you go to these rankings that
you have over the course of the year and year

(06:48):
to year, you decide arbitrarily which thing, which metric, is
going to count. And that's the biggest problem, in the
biggest fraud and sham of this whole thing, is that
you create new metric after the fact to say, well,
this is how we decided on the field this year.
It's like no, no, no, no no, put that on the
board so we all know. So as everybody's putting there

(07:10):
would be grids together. It's not, hey, you know this guy,
this team really has a good RPI. You may not
like the schedule, you may not like the number of
big wins they had, but overall, this is a you know,
USC is probably the best example, even though the pack
twelve sucked, but the thirty seven RPI gets left out
like okay, so RPN doesn't really mean anything this year,

(07:32):
and that's fine, but just let's let's have a formula
once and for all. Kick the algorithm out and you know,
show it to us if you need to. But that
makes too much sense. Why not have the unpredictability. We're
gonna you know, what's gonna mean everything this year? What
home victories? Why just because I had a dartboard? Why
not this? If you don't you know, it's gonna be

(07:53):
what the best sneakers that's gonna be? No, you know what?
You know what before selection Sunday, we'd have to go
back and the I'm like, hadn't the hot dog cannon appeared?
Maybe they used the hot dog cannon to beside which
mid major and at large team get in. You shoot
a hot dog cannon, and if a representative from your
team catches the hot dog, you get in the tournament.

(08:14):
Just catches one. It's got to catch him in his mouth. Agree, well,
degree of difficulty. If you catch it in the mouth,
that get you catch it in the mouth, You're a
one seed. Just catching You're in the tournament. I like
it suddenly, Steve Balmer's n c A Tournament. Be sure
to catch live editions of that Jason Smith Show weeknights
at eleven pm Eastern eight pm Pacific on Fox Sports

(08:36):
Radio and the I Heart Radio app. Meanwhile, earlier tonight
we watched Loyola Chicago and now Loyola Chicago and Kansas State.
You're gonna play to go to the fun Yes, they
are just like how I had it in my bracket.
And Loyola goes on because Eric Musselman and Nevada made
a horrendously bad decision down one with thirty six seconds

(08:58):
left to go. Loyola's got the basketball, and what you
have to do there is foul and extend the game.
You had a couple of fouls to give, but you
got a foul right away. You have to get Loyola
to the free throw line and make them make free
throws because you need to extend the game, not take
it down to one chance. And that's exactly what Nevada did.

(09:21):
They took it down to six seconds left on the clock,
and what happened. Loyola hit a three, they go up four,
and the game is over. Yes, with two seconds left
or one and a half seconds left, Nevada hit a three,
but it doesn't matter because they were down four at
the time. They inbounded the ball Loyola and the game
was over. I don't know how you decide to allow

(09:42):
that time to tick off the clock. Loyola must have
been the happiest team in the world. Sister Geane must
have been doing backflips watching this game, because it's like, Oh,
you're not fouling. You're not gonna force to go to
the free throw line and hit maybe four or six
free throws in the final thirty seconds. You're not gonna
try to to get to the point where you can
come back with with a hoop and tie the game
or maybe win it with a three. Instead, you allow

(10:04):
all that time to tick off the clock. That was
such a horrendous decision. Eric Musselman owe an apology to
his entire team because he blew that game, not because
they hit a shot, but because they have to shoot
with seven seconds left on the game clock. So with
seven seconds left, you are banking that Loyola is gonna shoot,

(10:26):
they're gonna miss, You're gonna get the rebound, and you're
gonna get the ball up court and get a good
shot off. That's not happening. First of all, if the
ball hits her and bounces up another seconds coming off
the clock until you get it. Maybe you don't get it,
Maybe it takes you an extra second to get the ball,
then it takes another second to look to try to
get the ball out to one of your players. And

(10:47):
now suddenly you are crossing mid court with two seconds
left and you're throwing up an off balanced desperation three
from thirty five ft away, which is exactly what Loyola
wants you to do. Your decision. Their Complete brain cramp
by Eric Musselers. It was a horrible call. So many
things that can go awry in the final seconds of possession.

(11:07):
Shot goes up. You're assuming you're rebounding cleanly, not just
that you're coming down with it, that it's not tapped around,
kicked around, tap, that a bounds reset, a foul on
the rebound. I mean, there's a million things that happened. Instead,
you can take the file you had a file to give,
I forget the situ you could have foul got it

(11:28):
down to thirty seconds, So you're fouling with twenty eight
seconds off. So maybe you're sending them to the free
throw line at least twice to make four free throws.
You said it, at least to make four free throws,
maybe six. Get your files in quickly. They'd only taken
eight free throws the entire night. So it's not like
you had one or two players who've been there and
had been you know, found their stroke, as we certainly

(11:48):
saw in the nightcap, and awful lot of foul opportunities
for Kentucky. And no matter how many times you were
putting Washington on the line, he wasn't gonna hit here
six of eight as a team. But you at least
have to give your yourself a chance other than yes,
we would have one more possession if all of these
variables cross off in our favor, will have what five

(12:11):
seconds maximum, right, assuming assuming everything goes as you've plotted
it out in your head, and that's also assuming you
can outlet it to the player you want with the ball.
There's so many things you brought it down to one play.
And it's like I said, it didn't matter if you
made the shot or not, because you would have been

(12:31):
in such disarray trying to get the ball up the court.
You know, there's certain times, certain decisions that or look
back on, Like coach Nigo boy, I really wish I
would have done that differently. And I guarantee you Eric
Musselman is gonna look back and go I should have fouled.
I should have sent him the free throw line. I
just sent them to try to make free throws because
they've never been in this position before. I'm gonna make

(12:51):
Loyola make free throws. This is not Duke, this is
not North Carolina. You. Let's see you make free throws.
This kind of pressure cooker at the end of the game.
Let's see what you can do. And you would have
had two or three chances to do that. I gotta
grind it out, give yourself at least one or two
more possessions to make a play. Instead let it go
down and then he got an open shot at that.
So even in your formulaic approach, you didn't play defense

(13:15):
and knock off the first thing. Be sure to catch
live editions of the Jason Smith Show weeknights at eleven
pm Eastern eight pm Pacific. So two teams going in
opposite directions. In the NFL, the Jets signed Tarrell Prior,
and and when when the Jets when signing Tarrell Prior
is the best move of the day. But you say
to yourself, boy, I'll tell you what, what's the other

(13:37):
move moving on? I say this just because I don't
understand the Giants. I don't understand what they're doing. I
don't know the Giants know what they're trying to look
gentleman as a GM I don't know what he's trying
to accomplish. They picked second, and today they trade Jason
Pierre Paul to the Tent Bay Buccaneers. Now they load

(13:59):
off a lot of US allery. You know that you
get back draft picks. They just signed him to a
big deal last year, and he's still productive. He's still
a guy that's gonna, you know, get between eight and
ten sacks. He bounced back to a pretty good year
last year after I had a down year the year before,
and of course, you know, shooting his fingers off with fireworks.
But you know, that was a pretty big deal for

(14:19):
the Giants. And now you see the reaction after that
trade happened days. Well, now they could just draft Bradley Chub.
He's a better fit in their scheme anyway, and it
doesn't there's no real four three three four do you
can fit a guy in a scheme. It's not that
big a deal. But now you're saying, okay, so the
Giants are going to try to fit him in and

(14:40):
and draft Bradley Chub when they already had Jason Pierre Paul.
Was it so bad they had to get rid of him?
Was an addition by subtraction? Certainly, he didn't make any
friends when he ripped the fans. He didn't show up
for Week seventeen, but you know, when you win two games,
that's what happens. But now the Giant said, Okay, now
we're gonna compete, and we're gonna trade away Jason Pierre
Paul and now potentially we're gonna draft Bradley Chub or

(15:03):
se Kwan Barkley. I mean, I understand the Giants philosophy,
but boy, it's almost like they have decided we are
not going to draft a quarterback. We are going to
be stubborn to the fact that we still think Eli
Manning is really good. And Eli is at the end.
I'm sorry, but he's at the end. And you don't
draft number two all that often. You don't draft number

(15:26):
two all that often when there's a couple of quarterbacks
out there you can get. When there's two and three
guys out there, you can't draft that often, you don't
draft that high. You gotta get a quarterback now, everything way,
Josh Rosen or whoever. You gotta get somebody there because
you can't be Eli has been slowly declining year after

(15:46):
year after year. You need to get that next quarterback.
And everything the Giants have done so far has made
you think they're doing anything but get It's like they
want to convince us we still think Eli is so good.
We're not going to take a quarterback. You don't need
to heads your bet so much. You pick second, al right.
Either we have two quarterbacks, it's either Sam Donald or
Josh Rosen. If one of those guys goes, we take

(16:06):
the other one. That's really how you do it. If
you like Josh Allen more, it's Josh Allen or Josh Rosen,
Sam Donald, Josh Allen. But at two you have to
really take that quarterback there because Eli man If he
stinks this year, it's gonna be Eli's done and now
we got to get a new quarterback. It's gonna be boy,
we should have gone back in time and gotten that
quarterback at number two. I don't get if the Giants
are trying to be blindly loyally Eli Manning and denying

(16:28):
that they need a quarterback. Well, and they need a
lot of help. They need more help than I can
give them, because this is where you draft a quarterback.
This is where you go get your quarterback in the future. Yeah,
it's gonna be messy because you have Eli and a
young quarterback. But you know what, if Eli was still
really good, you wouldn't have to worry about the problem
is Eli has not been good. Well, you benched him
for Geno Smith. You broke a consecutive game Street Now

(16:49):
everybody's loyal to him and they love him and they
want to hug him and everything else. He's in year
fourteen of his NFL career. They've been sub five hundred
three of the last five years and in the last
four years, and everything converged and put together perfectly to
get them to the number to pick this past season.
Every injury, every blown play, every ELI turnover, everything conspired

(17:15):
perfectly to get them to that spot. The Jets over
achieved early on the expectation expected win total of what
one and a half was the joke number that was
making the rounds four and a half I think was
the official over underline, which they hit. But you're looking
at the fact that it all came together between all
those injuries to your stars and a defense that was

(17:37):
stepping on their tongues at the end of games, and
the fact is you've got the number two pick and
you won't get there again. You're you've now kind of
gone into rebuild mold. Is that what this is with
the Jason Pierre Paul You're you're not quite rebuilding, but
you're kind of rebuilding. So you're one ft in, one

(17:57):
ft out in terms of how you're trying to build
this team eight seven, seven ninety nine on Fox, Twitter
at how about a Fresca? That's twitter at, how about
a Fresca? I don't get what the Giants do. I
wish I did, but I don't. I I really do.
I really I felt like I knew what they were,
but it's like we're We're gonna blatantly cut off our
nose despite our face, just because of Eli Manning. I

(18:19):
really don't understand. We'll have more NFL on the way. Meanwhile,
breaking right now, poison was drunk by the Kentucky Oncats.
They drank that poison drink. Who are the Wildcats? Who
are we gonna beat the wild Cats? Remember a couple

(18:43):
of nights ago when I told you write it down
the Kentucky Wildcats gonna play for the national Championship. Well
that's not gonna happen. Kansas State has just one eight
over Kentucky. PJ. Washington makes a free throw to tie
at Barry Brown's layup gives Kansas State a sixty eight lead.

(19:09):
Kentucky misses a three, they make a free throw, and
then Kentucky's three point desperation shot gil Just Alexander MRS.
Kansas State moves on to the Elite eight. Bruce Weber
third career lad eight for him. The Kansas State wild
Cats are on and Kentucky. There were fifty nine free

(19:34):
throws shot in this game. Poison drank. Can't wait for
this post game from Califari Rut. We were awful thirty
eight percent from the field. I mean, that's how miserable.
This was their thirty eight point one from the field.

(19:55):
They out rebound Kansas State by eleven. Kansas State shoots
thirty five point two percent from the field. Both teams
miserable from the file line. Uh. Mercifully it ends Kansas
State moving on to the Elite eight and Kentucky can't
play for the National Championship. Did I curse Kentucky? Did

(20:17):
I curse him? When I said, hey, write it down?
Guilt us Alexander. He's the guys playing so well, balls
in his hand, he's ascending. He looked really good at
the following. He was comfortable there. He was eleven out
of twelve from the free throw line. He really found
his confidence in his game there, but unfortunately couldn't live there. Yeah. No,
everything I said the opposite happened for Kentucky. Well you

(20:40):
had everything I said, the opposite happened. You had three
guys fallout for Kansas State. Well, Steve. The big thing is,
you know Kentucky's comeback was when Sneeve was on the
bench because he had four files. They put him back
in and hey, they get a couple whops. He does
foul out eventually, and he he gambled on his fifth fill.
He gave I think it was clean in most situations,

(21:03):
but we have to not when there's thirty seven files
shots are kid tucking, it's like it was almost as
if they're like, ah, well, she is only gonna make
one of two at best. So now get ready for this.
Get ready for this, because now this is a true statement.
Because now kidsucking is out. This is a true statement.

(21:26):
Kansas State or Loyola Chicago will be in the final
four four nine year old get a second chance bracket
for her school. She had Kansas State and really wow.
But on the other side she's got like Syracuse and no,
she picked against Why do you pick again? Should it's

(21:48):
against you? See, she goes, this would make Mr Jason
Man never talking to her again. She would have been
doing better now. But now think about this. Kansas State,
Old of Chicago, Florida State, Gonzaga or Michigan, we'll play
for the national championship. Fox Sports Radio has the best
sports talk lineup in the nation. Catch all of our

(22:10):
shows at Fox sports radio dot com and within the
I Heart Radio app. I'll tell you what Marian in
Kansas state already in game modor you're going against a
ninety year old nune. Yet we gotta just get like
we gotta go. You may have to get a nun
for yourself. About that, I mean, what can you get
would be higher than a nun? Like we're gonna trump
the nun with something like you gotta go find someone

(22:33):
is a bishop or an archbishop? Or what about a cleric?
Clerics not getting it done? What about a monk? Would
a monk be higher? Not not Tony Shalhub No, an
actual monk, not art monk problem, not Malik monk. No,
an actual monk. The problem with the monk is that
he's not gonna be able to get on the problem
with the monks not going to be able to do

(22:57):
the interviews. What? No, at all monks are silent. There's
some silent monks, but some monks speak. I'm pretty sure, hey,
if you're a monk that speaks eight seven seven ninety
nine fox. No monks, no monks, But there's some that
have taken the vowel silence. I don't believe all monks
have to take a vow of silence. Will they be
as entertaining, entertaining as uh, Gene, No, I don't. I

(23:20):
don't think so. I mean monks spoken ace Ventura too,
didn't they. Yes, let's go to Jim Carrey. Well, you know,
I'm sorry, I haven't. I haven't see a lot of
monks doing interview Jim Jim. But that's my point. But
they don't. All some of them can speak. That's the
whole thing. Do you go to a cardinal, I mean
you go to the cardinal that that's above the nun

(23:41):
a card Well, oh, of course, I mean none anybody
could be a nun. But I mean there's many nuns.
Sister Jean is very Now that might be your hottest
taken a week, you could be taken a week. Anybody,
any woman can be a nun. If she wanted to,
you take a vow of chat of the you could
become a nun. Right, there's a little more than that. Well,

(24:04):
I'm trying to go back to it's not in the
final hour of the show. Just yeah, became a nun
and she made everybody sings. She was a fraud, she
was not a fraud. She brought attention to two songs
and and and and under false pretenses. Doesn't matter. She
helped you might have had a heart of gold at

(24:24):
the end. Listen, I bet you this. I bet you
did not come in pure. I bet you you know whoa.
I bet you know when Tom they make the whole deal,
like when Tom Cruise did Top Gun, Like all the
enlistments in the Navy went up because it was such
a cool thing. You want to go down. I bet
you because a Sister Act, people joined and joined convents
because of that. I bet you they. I would love
to see the statistical dad. I wonder if there are

(24:46):
support there. I bet you. I bet you they do.
Now so the hierarchy goes, Then why haven't they made
more Sister Explain it? They did? They made three sisters
and we're the fourth. Come on, I mean, WHOOPI Goldberg
is not at that point yet. What she's doing Sister
Act four? A few more years? Maybe? I think the
point was to go find another nun to pass the

(25:08):
doorge do? Oh well, why haven't they remade? Sisters? Should remade?
Everything else? Was quite the tool that you believe it is.
No you could you could remake Sister Act like with
Lisa Bone. You can do that so much so she
can sing like she did in high fidelity. You know
what no you know would play? You would be great.
Leslie Jones, Leslie Jones and the Whoopi Goldberg Roles Sister

(25:31):
act would be awesome. Whoopy Whoopi Goldberg. She would she
would be great. But the main point we're trying to
make is, now, is it in your Kansas state? You
want to bring in somebody that's higher ranking than a none?
So you go none? Right, then it would be father
or mother superior? Right, who was in charge of the conduct? Right?
All right? So then above mother superior is what is that?

(25:55):
Where the monks and the cardinals are? I don't know
where the monk fits in on baseball, the Monks and
the cardinals maskers. Then Jessica Mendoza here, we're gonna break
down what we talked about with our guest and the
rest of that game. Nope, t J waynewright will pitch
for the cardinal and art monk. So then you have

(26:16):
the monks and the cardinals. Or would the cardinals be
above the monks if we're doing bracketology and then above
where do we go? Then the cardinal? Then you would
have Pope. Right, they have the Pope, Cardinals, monks and
other religious luminaries, then father, mother, superior, nuns, priest, lens.

(26:41):
What about a shaman work? What a shaman work? You
feel me? I think that's a good one. I don't know,
ty shirt with what a shaman work? That's definitely above
a monk, but below a bishop. Boy, So a shaman
is a buff a monk? Why? Why would why is
he necessarily? I feel like they have a little are
intuity to the world around them. Monks monks on me

(27:05):
because they don't talk, they don't know things. I'm not
saying a bout could be a great radio host. Wouldn't
be the opening. The open would be a lot of bells,
and then you know they'd be there'll be some chance
and then you know, I don't know what the show
would be, but you know I can see that. But
I got to think that a shame is more of
a magician than anything. Now you're open to Charlotte, I

(27:32):
don't know, shadow man, Why can't wait? Wait? Have you
ever gone to a religious service run by a shaman?
Have you ever? No? I mean that's it. When I
think of stuff like that, I think of indianage. The
guy should pulling heart. I went to this religious service

(27:52):
and a guy pulled the heart out of somebody and
then he went in the fire. That was amazing. And
then this guy I don't whip and a hat and
they played this song on the fire and that was
really exciting. Kate Capshaw was in it, and in Short

(28:14):
Round was in it. It was really cool. I've never
been to a religious service. Once upon a time I
did a fantasy show on Sundays where Short Round was
part of the case that Ann's it's it's a little
it's it's you can't use boy. All right, So now
we know the religious rankings what you would need to

(28:35):
do if you do go to the center Piece Foundation Center.
You're actually on a shamanica. How you say it's shamanic
or shaman shamanic. Yeah, we'll go with Nevada. But but
it's all about the anxious practice. We'll see contacting, utilizing
and ordinarily hidden reality to acquire knowledge and healing for oneself.

(28:56):
Another there's a couple of places here in the Great
Los Angeles area that can help us out. Should do
the show from there for for Loyola on Saturday, butout
do a special Saturday show from there for Loyola. Would
that help let's see think about that a's next level.
Be sure to catch live editions of that Jason Smith

(29:16):
on Fox Sports Radio and the I Heart Radio app. So,
now that the final four of the left side of
the bracket is set, Kansas State will play Loyola Chicago.
Florida State will play Michigan. Which of these teams will

(29:37):
be playing for the national Championship a week from Monday? Well,
you can't go against higher powers, can you? I can?
And this is not going to make my wife happy.
She was Pam and Zoe were at the game tonight.
That's good. Pam bought tickets, went to the game, said
Zoe had the time of her life tonight at the game. Awesome.

(29:57):
What what was getting getting was too hundred two honey two.
Wanted to get in for the seats they sat and
it was two day. Yeah, it was two hundred to
get in. They could have got in for a hundred
and sat up high. But I believe she told me
that if you went and and went like right after

(30:17):
the game started, the ticket prices went way. Yeah, because
she said people came in and sat near them. That
got to the game late and they said, yeah, we
got late and the tickets were like half price. Yeah.
I was looking at the secondary market earlier in the week,
but I was remiss and following up because I wasn't
gonna get there because I had to, you know, yeah, exactly.

(30:39):
So what game am I talking about? Michigan, Texas A
and m here in Los Angeles, And luckily I'm gonna
I'm gonna out my wife. She's gonna hate it, but
I gotta tell the story. So she gets the sides
last night. When I come home last night from work,
she decides she's going to the game tonight. What if
I bring Zoe As a great idea, She's gonna love
It's always got her Michigan stuff on. She's all Michigan,
all Syracuse. She's in it. She's in it with both

(30:59):
of us, and so she's gonna go. I'm like great.
So she's well the games at four thirty and figure
out when to leave all this stuff, Like all right, great,
we're gonna leave right after school. So we gets done
from school, gonna pick her up. Awesome. So I see
on the on the computer where she's looking and I go,
what are you doing. She was, well, I'm looking for
the best place to park because I don't know where
the best place to park would be. Because the last

(31:20):
time we're up here we part. I said up here where?
I said, that's Westwood. Why are you looking at Pauli Pavilion?
She was, isn't that where the game is? I go,
oh my god, it's at Staples Center. It's not at
paul She goes, oh, I just thought it would be
a Pauli into a nice direct league. She was a
little intermurals going on spending two hulls to see U
c L a freshman in neural running up and down.

(31:42):
That's not gonna be okay, wearing a Louisville shirt. I said, oh, well,
I thought that's where we go. No, it's at Staples.
You gotta go to Staples, Okay, okay, well that would
make sense, Yeah, that would make sense. Wow, that could
have been disaster. She tried to go to boy parking
is so easy. I got nobody. I didn't even have

(32:03):
to pay, drove right in, Oh, walk right up. But
you know, concessions aren't that great. But okay, so she
went said they had a phenomenal time. Zoie every shot
that went in. Zoe was screaming, Michigan will play for
the national championship. I don't know if they want me
to say this because of my track record with Kentucky

(32:25):
just a couple of days ago, cursing I'm drinking the poison.
But look, it's pretty simple. You back away from all
this stuff going and I get it. Teams are hot
right now, and you can say, all right, Kansas State,
they were a nut seed, but they're one of the
teams left loyal of Chicago's and eleven seed. Florida State
barely got into the tournament. They were barely. They were

(32:45):
the same team as Syracuse. Basically, they had a great
game this year. Ah by the way, that went double overtime.
But when you break it down, who's the best team there,
who has accomplished the most, Who's a team that you
are confident that can navigate this week end and your
final four game next Saturday, Michigan. Michigan got hot at
the end of the regular season. They were terrific. Alright,

(33:09):
Michigan ended hot. They were clearly the best team in
the Big Ten at the end of the year. Perdue
was playing very well as well, but Michigan clearly was
the hottest team. And what also has happened they have
had their survive and advanced game. Right. You see it
all the time, every team that wins a championship, there's
always that one game where plays it. There's always that

(33:29):
one where they are boy, you know what we could
have gone out here. Michigan already had that. They hit
that that game winning three against Houston, that one where
it was really shocking. They clearly have had that game.
And now you look at what they've done Michigan, you
go back. This is how they ended the season. They
won at Wisconsin by eleven, They beat Iowa by fifteen.

(33:51):
They beat eighth ranked Ohio State by twelve, They beat
Penn State by nine, they beat Maryland by twenty four,
They beat Iowa by six, they beating the ASCA by
twenty to eat Michigan State by eleven. They beat per
Due by nine, and now in the tournament here they
are again Montana, Houston, Texas A, and m going away
tonight against Texas A and M Yes, I worry a

(34:13):
little bit. Michian will get the bounce on Saturday because
you play as well as you do tonight. But really
it was you played really well for about ten minutes
and then you kind of cruised after that. Texas couldn't
stop anybody. It's like Texas A and M looked like,
you know what, we're done. You know, even though they
hit that big three at the end of the first half,
they looked like, you know, we're just done. It's not
our night. We're just gonna go through the motions. I
worry a little bit about the bounce, but clearly they're

(34:36):
the best team. They will play for the national championship
on Monday night. I don't know if my wife wants
me to say that, but I will because that's what
I feel. And hopefully I'm right about this, and you know,
not like I was not right about Kentucky.
