Speaker 2 (00:24):
Let's get this, punnies, you're listening to Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 1 (00:31):
It is The Odd Couple. I'm Chris, He's Rob. We're
live from the tie rack dot com studios. What a
second hour we have for you on this funky flashback Friday.
The great Hall of Fame boxing trainer Teddy Atlas will
join us in about thirty minutes.

Speaker 3 (00:49):
You do not want to miss that.

Speaker 1 (00:51):
We got the big Devin Hainey Ryan Garcia fight coming up,
and of course we want to talk to him about
Tyson Paul and versus Jake Paul as well. But first
we're gonna stick with the NBA and Rob, I want
to throw a question at you. All the playoffs are
you know, exciting and there's always a lot on the line,

(01:14):
and you know it's a chance, Rob for players to.

Speaker 3 (01:18):
Seem it or improve.

Speaker 1 (01:21):
Or begin their legacies, and so I'm gonna throw a
question at you really too, but I'll start with the
first with one. All right, I'm listening which player rob
that does not have a championship ring yet would benefit
the most from winning.

Speaker 4 (01:43):
One this year?

Speaker 5 (01:49):
Who does not have one? Does not well, who doesn't
have one?

Speaker 1 (01:53):
I mean Jason Tatum, Joe l NB, Jalen Brunson, Day Me,
and little.

Speaker 6 (02:00):
Rook at Jalen Brunton in that vein. I gotta be honest,
I I just don't. And that's no disrespect to him, Chris.
I've never thought, oh my god, Jalen Brunton has to
win a championship like that. That's what I'm saying, Like
like he's not under that kind of microscope or pressure.
That's what I'm saying.

Speaker 1 (02:21):
No, he's under no pressure, right, right, that's what you're
talking about. It before very few small players, right, we
have led a team.

Speaker 6 (02:27):
Well, you would be like, oh my god, Jason brunceh,
Jalen Brunson played and he didn't win a championship.

Speaker 5 (02:35):
No, No, he's not on that now.

Speaker 6 (02:36):
Damian Little's different, Chris, because he joined Jonas.

Speaker 4 (02:40):
Oh, he's different.

Speaker 6 (02:42):
His is totally on a different had he not won
in Portland, Chris, nobody's killing him, right, nobody's killing.

Speaker 1 (02:49):
Them now he's if he doesn't win, right, That's what
I'm saying. I mean, it's changed for him. They've all
the the standard has already been forward fortunately for him.
This year, they've been so underwhelming that now, Rob, I
think people would feel like they had a good year.

(03:11):
And this is where Yana is healthy, that they had
a good year if they got to the conference championship.
I mean because and considering when they're coming fright, But
we shouldn't let that change our commentary.

Speaker 6 (03:26):
I agree, because to me, it's been a failure in
Milwaukee's failure.

Speaker 5 (03:31):
Nothing we could have imagined. Oh you know, he was.

Speaker 6 (03:33):
A great soldier in Portland and he stayed and all
this and now no, I want out.

Speaker 5 (03:39):
I want a chance to win.

Speaker 6 (03:40):
Okay, everybody Chris and their uncle praised it. Oh my god,
Gianna's got Damian Lillard. Look at by by bad, look
at what they should be in the mix and they
could win championships and not a dah. And this year
has been a disaster, it really has. And Dame, as
great as he is, he's a Hall of Famer. We

(04:02):
know he made top seventy five.

Speaker 1 (04:06):
He has, you know, benefited from being out there in
Portland where expectations were tiny, and if he you know,
he put up his thirty points a night and got
them to the playoffs and and everybody was satisfied. Well,
now those days are over right now, It's like, you
see what Steph's been living with and what you know,

(04:28):
some of the other players in the championship mix have
been living with that pressure. Now you know, they can
come back next year and try it, But so far
it's definitely been a big buzz. I'm gonna throw one
other name at you. I'll just give you a few
others SGA obviously, George Luca, James Harden.

Speaker 3 (04:50):
Now Harden's an interesting run.

Speaker 1 (04:51):
Jimmy Butler, you know, if they were to advance, because
he's saying he's gonna be out several weeks.

Speaker 3 (04:58):
So theoretically, if.

Speaker 1 (04:59):
They somehow upset Boston, which obviously we don't expect, and
he was able to come back for the second round,
and maybe they want a championship again. This is kind
of a pipe dream, but so maybe we should, you know,
But my answer, Rob is Joe lmb okay because looking
at his health. Who knows how many more opportunities he's

(05:23):
going to get now this summer, the Sixers have a
lot of money, assuming they go out early. If I'm
Daryl Morey, I'm chasing Lebron James, and I don't think
Lebron would go there, but I'm saying I'm chasing him,
and then I'm chasing My second guy is Paul George.
And then if I can't get one of those guys,

(05:45):
I'm looking at some type of trades or something I
can get. But I think if MB were to win
it this year, Rob he is. He is a tremendous player.
His only problem is he just can't stay healthy.

Speaker 4 (06:05):
That's it.

Speaker 1 (06:06):
And it may you know he's huge, Rob, it might
just be he's so big, not just tall, but he's
like big, but he just hasn't been able to stay healthy.
It's kind of like Kawhi Leonard at this point, you know.
So if he could get a ring, Rob like you
look at his game and I used to be very
critical of him for not going inside, and I still

(06:30):
want he plays inside some not as much as I like,
but I do have to just say this, His jumper
has just gotten better and better and better, and his
mid range jumper is so silky, it's one of the
best we've ever seen. And it's so good that I can't,

(06:51):
you know, be that critical anymore because it's like, dude
is amazing in the mid range. So if he could
get a ring rob to kind of to cap this
great regular season career that he's had, I think that
would be huge for him.

Speaker 3 (07:06):
I'd say he's the one now, I get it.

Speaker 6 (07:09):
If hardened, even if Harden wins it, Chris like he
wins it, but he would have to be the reason
why Okay, he had to play. He'd have to play
phenomenal for people to really like say, wow, Harden made
it happen. If he plays okay or plays good, but
as Paul George and Kawhi and he not going to

(07:29):
get the credit.

Speaker 4 (07:30):
Let's just be honest. I agree they.

Speaker 5 (07:32):
Got four potential Hall of Famer.

Speaker 4 (07:34):
Three three for sure.

Speaker 5 (07:37):
Paul George on the fence, right, yeah, I mean that.

Speaker 3 (07:41):
Fence is really low in the NBA.

Speaker 4 (07:42):
I got it well now, I mean right now, it's like,
who's not getting.

Speaker 6 (07:46):
I'll tell you just leave Ka Tucker, leave the back
door open, leave the back door open.

Speaker 5 (07:51):
Just come on, it.

Speaker 3 (07:53):
All right, Ron, here's the next question. Which player with
a ring?

Speaker 1 (08:00):
Jokic, Kyrie Kawhi, Kevin Durant. I didn't mention Devin Booker
as one without a ring, but you know, those are
some of the guys that already have rings.

Speaker 5 (08:10):
And even Devin Booker, Chris, I don't know like.

Speaker 1 (08:13):
It would help him because he's you know, he's fizzled
in some some fourth quarters, and that's already some seventh games,
not fourth.

Speaker 6 (08:21):
And I was gonna say, like after the chance when
they were up too w oh and didn't win, it
don't feel the same to me for him, I don't know.
I mean what I mean, I'm not don't get me.
I'm not saying he can't win or whatever. But at
one after during that when they were up two, oh,

(08:42):
it was Kobe talk. You remember that, Yeah, it was
Kobe talk, Chris. That's that's what people were talking about
with Devin Booker.

Speaker 3 (08:50):
Now he's taking a little hit, he's still.

Speaker 6 (08:52):
I'm saying, yeah, oh yeah, he's a star. And they
ain't mentioned it, know Kobe lately, I haven't heard that.

Speaker 3 (09:00):
My guy rob with a ring?

Speaker 1 (09:03):
And I get your answer, maybe it's Jokic because you
say he climbs into the top ten, I would say
Jokic obviously benefits hugely. Lebron Rob that really makes I'm
not saying it would make me put him over Jordan
as the goat, but he.

Speaker 3 (09:21):
Definitely gets closer.

Speaker 1 (09:23):
And he's already you know, fairly close, so that would
be huge. But I'm gonna go Kevin Durant because we know,
you know, we respect this two rings, but Rob, there's
a lot out there that you know, just feel like
he got easy rings. We've even seen a Wale Fraser

(09:46):
say there should be a mental asterisk.

Speaker 3 (09:48):
There, and there is a legit.

Speaker 1 (09:50):
It's a legitimate question as to whether or not Kevin
Durant would have a ring had he not gone to
Golden State and that team, even though he was great,
it was super stacked already. If he got another ring,
this is what we wanted to see in Brooklyn, this
is what we wanted to see when he first went

(10:11):
to Phoenix.

Speaker 3 (10:13):
The doubters would be.

Speaker 1 (10:14):
Silenced forever, obviously, and I think it would be huge.

Speaker 4 (10:18):
For Kevin during I agree.

Speaker 6 (10:20):
I mean, he has despite his winning and winning two
MVPs in Golden State, just to win somewhere else. We
always talk about that, Chris, Like, if you can go
somewhere else and win, then people have to pay stock
in you and say you're an ex factor. I always
say that about Bill Parcells and Chris. He only won

(10:42):
in one place, but the job he did in New England, right,
he won with the Giants twice. But then he went
to New England and got to the Super Bowl. Chris,
they lost. The Jets were one in fifteen when he
got there, got them to the AFC Champampionship game against
Denver in Denver. They lost, and then the Cowboys, like

(11:05):
like everywhere he went, the teams got better. And that's
about Bill Parcell and that and that's why I think
with Kevin Durant, if he was able to go to
Phoenix and actually win a championship, you could you could
overlook Brooklyn and say that that's not his fault. That
was it was the injuries and then Kyrie with the

(11:28):
shot and he stepped on the line, you know what
I mean, Like you could make an argument that he
did as much as he could and then the flips
I would be see, didn't he went to Phoenix and
look what he was able to do.

Speaker 1 (11:40):
So yeah, because Rob, he hasn't even been passed the
second round since he left Golden State. And it's like
the caller was saying earlier, all championships are not created equal.
So this would be one that you could not be
critical of. And even though they do have the other
two stars in Booker and Beale, there wouldn't be any

(12:01):
of that talk, right, It wouldn't be a oh that
team is stacked, no, because you know, kind of like
Lebron in Miami, they failed. You know, Lebron failed that
first year that made everybody give him a whole lot
of credit when they finally did win it in Miami.

Speaker 4 (12:19):
And it would be the same with Kevin Durant.

Speaker 1 (12:21):
So yeah, I think he'd benefit incredibly from a championship,
as would you know, Lebron and Jokic, and you know
some of these.

Speaker 5 (12:31):
Are Kyrie Rob.

Speaker 1 (12:32):
I think Kyrie is already a Hall of Famer, I think,
but a second championship would be big for him too.
All right, let's start out to listeners eight seven seven
ninety nine on Fox. What NBA player in these playoffs
who already has a ring would benefit the most from
another one? And what player who doesn't have a Ring

(15:09):
most from winning an NBA championship this year?

Speaker 6 (15:11):
All right, Chris, let's kick it off with Rex. He's
an Anchorage, Alaska. You're on the odd couple Fox Sports Radio.
What's up, Rex?

Speaker 8 (15:19):
Hey, guys, appreciate it, the enjoy the show.

Speaker 5 (15:22):
Thank you, Thank you.

Speaker 8 (15:24):
I would I would say Luca and Kyrie would benefit
the most, even though Bron is trying to chase MJ
and Kobe. In my opinion, I can't imagine what Kobe
would do with the roster that Lebron has. I would
just I feel like they would be a top tier
team as opposed to where they're at now at playing team.

Speaker 6 (15:47):
But you're talking about Kobe's last five years or you're
talking about just in general.

Speaker 8 (15:52):
Well, even within the last five years that he.

Speaker 5 (15:54):
Was there, well, let him make the playoffs.

Speaker 8 (15:56):
Those five years were able to do right with the
he made a lot of the people held them accountable.
And I don't know Lebron does that well.

Speaker 6 (16:07):
But okay, but you're saying okay, but you're saying Luca,
it's Luca and Kyrie.

Speaker 8 (16:11):
I would say Luca and Kyrie. Uh, but we all
know Lebron is chasing like the goat stats right that
definitely help him, even though, like you had touched on
it earlier, was the vaccine stuff, and it's like, you know,
Kyrie has been Delta a different hand than a lot
of the others where he's Uh.

Speaker 1 (16:32):
They were both both the good answers, particularly Luca Luca.

Speaker 5 (16:36):
No doubt Luca's.

Speaker 3 (16:38):
Guy robbed it, I think, and I think you do too.

Speaker 1 (16:41):
He is going to be an all time great and
it's just a matter of will.

Speaker 4 (16:47):
He get the championships to kind of and we'll validate that.

Speaker 9 (16:49):
Right.

Speaker 6 (16:50):
His style of play allow for another player, Chris to
help him win, right and Kyrie, and Kyrie's had a
great year, So maybe this is it. Obi in Los Angeles,
you're on the couple of Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 4 (17:05):
What's up?

Speaker 5 (17:05):
Obie?

Speaker 9 (17:06):
Good even guys.

Speaker 10 (17:07):
Always great to talk to you, and thank.

Speaker 5 (17:09):
You for taking a call, my man, Thank you.

Speaker 10 (17:11):
I would go with the Clippers crew of Westbrook and Harden,
given the fact that they've gotten so much poor, they've
had such poor playoff performances that I think a championship
them would probably validate them.

Speaker 3 (17:26):
Does it do that much?

Speaker 1 (17:27):
I get hard. If he's a star Westbrook, Westbrook's coming
off the bench, now you'll play a role. But him
being a role player average and say twelve thirteen points
off the bench, does.

Speaker 3 (17:40):
That hugely change his legacy?

Speaker 4 (17:42):
I mean, he's already gonna be a Hall of Famer
and all that.

Speaker 10 (17:45):
Yeah, But I mean, you know, he doesn't do a
lot of people just think of him as a.

Speaker 3 (17:51):
Three triple double.

Speaker 10 (17:53):
The triple double guy exactly. So I think he needs
the championship to really validate his career as well as
Hard of course, because Prdney and even Paul George, because
Paul George at the time at one point thought of
the lebron beater, right when he was with Indiana.

Speaker 1 (18:05):
Well, some people think he's the goat. Brandon Miller said
he's the goat. So yeah, all right, I Rob Westbrook, Look,
it'd be great for him. You couldn't say he couldn't win,
But I think that would be kind of like Gary
Payton's ring.

Speaker 5 (18:24):
Which he got a ring. I agree. It wouldn't be
like push him to the front of the line or anything.

Speaker 6 (18:31):
Right, right, Joel in Arizona, you're on the couple of
Fox Sports Radio.

Speaker 5 (18:36):
What's up, Joel?

Speaker 8 (18:37):
Hey, what's up? Thanks for taking the call.

Speaker 5 (18:39):
Yes, yeah, so.

Speaker 9 (18:42):
I gotta go with Chris Paul and Jason Tatlo.

Speaker 4 (18:45):
Chris Paul, Well, Chris Paul is not even in the playoffs.

Speaker 5 (18:48):
Yeah, he's out.

Speaker 6 (18:48):
Remember they got knocked out in the plane, remember the day. Yeah,
Chris Paul, let's let's eliminate him.

Speaker 5 (18:54):
True, he's out.

Speaker 6 (18:55):
Yeah, he had he had three shots, three shots and
three points.

Speaker 5 (18:59):
That did not happen.

Speaker 9 (19:01):
I still think you would have a lot to gain.

Speaker 1 (19:02):
That would be amazing. It'd be amazing if he got
a ring, especially this year.

Speaker 6 (19:07):
It will be Chris, remember the old show That's Incredible
with It would be on that show.

Speaker 1 (19:13):
It'd be the greatest ring we've ever seen, that's for sure.

Speaker 5 (19:16):
All right, make your point for KG Joel.

Speaker 9 (19:21):
You said for KD.

Speaker 6 (19:22):
So yeah, So I think it would just put him
in another exche line of you know, the superstars if
he wasn't winning another ring, because a lot of people
do discount hit.

Speaker 9 (19:31):
Two rings with with golden stick. So I think it
would just it would validate his career.

Speaker 10 (19:37):
Not that he needs, no, it would.

Speaker 3 (19:40):
It would definitely help it. There's no question about it.
All Right.

Speaker 4 (19:43):
We got Teddy Atlas around the corner.

Speaker 2 (19:44):
But first, Fox Sports Radio has the best sports talk
lineup in the nation. Catch all of our shows at
Foxsports Radio dot com and within the iHeartRadio app search
f s R to listen live.

Speaker 1 (19:57):
All right, thank you, Steve, It's the Cup live from
the tire Rack dot com studios. Our next guest, Hall
of Fame boxing trainer, host of the Fight with Teddy
Atlas podcast and and the man. I love hearing talk
boxing more than anybody alive. The Great Teddy Atlas, Teddy Weddy.

Speaker 9 (20:20):
How you guys doing great?

Speaker 3 (20:22):
Great?

Speaker 9 (20:24):
Yeah? Yeah, I'm doing good. I'm with two good people.
How could I not be doing good?

Speaker 6 (20:28):
Man, good thing, even if one guy's from Queens. You
know what I'm saying, Teddy.

Speaker 9 (20:33):
He can't go, That's right, no doubt.

Speaker 1 (20:38):
All right, there's a lot to talk to in the
squared circle. So let's start with Ryan Garcina. See he
fights Devin Haty tomorrow, super lightweight fight. You've seen it all,
Teddy and boxing. When you see a guy behaving as
Garcia is, he didn't make weight by three pounds, Uh,

(20:59):
he's just has bizarre comments and behave Did.

Speaker 6 (21:03):
You see the Mets wouldn't allow him to throw out
the first pitch because they they were, uh they were
mixing it up or something. They thought they were gonna
brawl at at City Field. Did you see that as well, Teddy?

Speaker 9 (21:15):
Yeah? I saw that. Then he did another video.

Speaker 3 (21:20):
Yeah, yea.

Speaker 1 (21:23):
When you see that type of behavior from a fighter,
especially going into a fight, what does it kind of
tell you.

Speaker 9 (21:31):
He shouldn't be in the ring. I'll tell you right now.
A lot of people ain't gonna like this, but it
doesn't matter because it's what I believe. I've been in
the business since the years, and the New York State
Athletic Commission better pray to God that's something really, really
bad doesn't happen tomorrow night, because they will be out

(21:53):
of business if it does. And I will help put
them out of business. I will make sure that they're
out of business, because then no, but what do we
have a commission for? Really, tax payers paying money to
have the commission? What are we having for too, to
make sure that the fighter's health is being protected, is

(22:13):
being looked out for that the fighters have simply put
of sound body in mind when he gets in the ring. Now,
it's dangers enough. I'm the persone to admit how dangerous
my business is. It's dangers enough to get into that
square circle. What's less to get in there when you're
not right, When you're not right physically and most importantly,

(22:34):
when you're not right Metley, and all the proof that
you need is out there that he's not right. I
mean not for the last days in the last week,
but for the last six seven weeks leading up to
this fight. He has been putting stuff out there on
his so I mean one thing he put out there
was that a cult kidnapped him, took them to the

(22:56):
woods and forced them the wise kids get raped. I mean,
when you start putting stuff like that out there, really,
you gotta you gotta have some kind of evaluation. If
you're a commission, you have to say, wait a minute,
we're going to evaluate you with all people, which the
proper psychiatric people, to see whether or not this fight

(23:18):
should be section now. I don't know if they've had anything.
There's been little claims that you know that they approved
approved them how because his blood pressure was okay, because
he had a pulse, because because he didn't have a fever.
I mean that that is not the evaluation that that
is needed right now for this kid to be allowed

(23:39):
to get into a ring with a really good fighter.

Speaker 4 (23:41):
I agree.

Speaker 5 (23:42):
Yeah, it just seemed like it's a mess.

Speaker 6 (23:45):
Uh and uh, you're right, hopefully it's not a bad
scene here.

Speaker 5 (23:52):
Can you tell us about Devin Haney?

Speaker 6 (23:53):
And you know, if there's just a fight and there's
no chicanery and nonsense to what kind of fight we
could expect.

Speaker 9 (24:02):
You know, before that that's a racist for a second,
even though it's really hard because I mean that first conference, yes,
they was perverse. It was actually perverse, you know, And
of course I'm not going to go into what he said,
but I mean it was stuff like that has never
been There's trash talking, there's that that's an all sports,
that's the history of sports, but never anything that that

(24:25):
degrading and that low as what he was saying about
putting a body part into haines mouth.

Speaker 5 (24:32):
I mean it's crazy.

Speaker 9 (24:33):
I mean, yeah, crazy, really crazy and and disturbing. But
let's let's get away from it for a minute and
say that before this all came about and this fight
was made, what would I see, Yes, I would, I
would see in I would I would see in God's

(24:56):
see a guy who's got more power than hey, a
guy who's probably got I haven't seen the numbers, but
probably has a longer reach, a longer wingspan, probably has
a little bit quicker hands, He's a better puncher. Haini
is the more solid fighter, technically, very solid, very buttoned up,

(25:18):
and a guy who's fought the better fighters on the whole.
You know, he has shown that he can step to
the next level and he can win so far, can
see it hasn't shown that. But see his highest step
was a high step. It was with Tank Davis, who's
a hell of a fighter. He's in my top five
pound for pound fighters in the world right now. But

(25:40):
he stepped up and he got knocked out. Not a disgrace,
but showing that when he did take that step up,
he came up short, very short. Now, Haiti hasn't been
in with Tank Davis, but he's been in with other
world champions. He's been in there with better fighters than
God see you in a hole. He has been in

(26:01):
there with a better resume of fighters, and he has
shown that he can win at that level under those
lights and again because he has not shown that so far.
Although Haiti is a he's a shop shooter. He's a
guy that likes to at his best day, he wants
to control range. He's a responsible defensive fighter. He's not

(26:23):
a guy that's prone to taking risk. You know, he's
not a guy who's going to light it up on
the pay per view numbers by himself, because you know,
he's not the guy who's going to be the thick
and destroyed missile who's going to put the bar on fire.
But he's going to be a guy who is going
to fight a smart fight, maybe a chess match. He's
going to be on the outside. He's gonna look for

(26:44):
you to make mistakes, look to counter if you lay
in front of him, He's going to get off very
intelligent combinations, very accurate combinations. Does everything straight, straight lines.
The fight probably before all all of this craziness, was
going to start as a chess match where you got

(27:06):
see you on the outside with the long reach. The jab,
very important, his jab. His best weapon is his candle
leftalk now just his left hook, his candle leptok. Where
him make you where him, make you make a mistake,
make you reach a little bit and hit you with
a blind shot with a real good, fast, short cattle leptalk.
He's very explosive with that punch. So I would have

(27:28):
seen him looking to set that up using his jab
to keep Hani from control space the way Haini likes
to control space. I would have seen Hani looking to
get angles. He uses his legs pretty well, looking to
get angles, to set up his combinations on the outside
to try to also gold in get does see it,

(27:49):
you know, to get a little kless and come in again.
A chess match. Maybe not the most exciting fight. Now,
toget about it all back off now now if you
ask me, what do you see, Teddy? I don't know
what I see. I mean, I see chaos, I see craziness,
I see oh, but I see the possibility of God

(28:11):
and see it going coma cozi where where he's not
in shape, he's three pounce all right, muscle tone's not right,
He's not we know he's not Metley right, but he's
not physically right. So when you're not physically right, a
lot of times you go and take chances to try
to get it over with. So I can see that.
I didn't see him being uncharacteristically more aggressive, and I

(28:33):
can see Haiti looking at him.

Speaker 6 (28:36):
Right, Hey, Teddy, I want to I want to switch
gears here. And I think the last time we had
you and we talked about the Mike Tyson and Jake Paul.

Speaker 3 (28:43):
I don't know if we did.

Speaker 5 (28:44):
Oh, I don't know if we did. But talk about that, okay.

Speaker 6 (28:46):
I want to talk about that because it's scheduled for
July twentieth, and at first we thought there was going
to be a fight and then they came back and
said it's not an official fight.

Speaker 5 (28:55):
No, it's an exhibition, they said, but.

Speaker 1 (28:57):
All the Pauls fights have been like that's what I
wanted to Is it a real fighter?

Speaker 3 (29:01):
They gonna be trying to know what I'm.

Speaker 6 (29:02):
Saying, Teddy, this sounds like it took the theme off
of it. And he's not going to try to hurt
Mike Tyson. They just want to rob people.

Speaker 9 (29:12):
Listen, guys, you don't you don't need me to confirm
to two very smart people talking to me on his phone,
that is a money grab.

Speaker 5 (29:24):
Yes, thank you, Teddy, thank you.

Speaker 4 (29:26):
It is.

Speaker 3 (29:27):
This is Roy Jones.

Speaker 5 (29:30):
This is this is ridiculous.

Speaker 6 (29:31):
And you know what I said, Teddy, that Mike Tyson
shouldn't let Jake Paul make money off of his legacy.

Speaker 5 (29:39):
I find this to be terrible.

Speaker 9 (29:42):
I understand because you're looking at from a purest point
of view that this guy was a great fighter. That
this guy was he might have been the last guy
to consolidate all the heavyweight belts. Actually I'm not sure that,
but it's been a long time. We got Who's Sick
and Dury and Saudi Arabia coming up eighteen, where that's
going to consolidate and make it one fattest man on

(30:03):
the planet, one heavyweight champ, which is the way he
should be in boxing. But maybe the last guy that
really did it that I can think of might have
been Tyson, but whatever it was. I mean, this is
a kid who was, you know, nineteen twenty years old
on the cover of supports, those great kid Dynamite. Yeah,
you know, I mean, this is a guy that just

(30:24):
catch it imagination of people. You know how it wasn't
a matter of whether or not he was going to win.
It was how destructive road.

Speaker 5 (30:33):
How quickly would it be? Over right?

Speaker 9 (30:36):
Yeah? Yeah, you better go and get your popcorn and
all that stuff. You better get your drinks, you know,
you better get your seat. You better sit down, you know,
and when you're sitting down, you better be looking at
the ring.

Speaker 5 (30:45):
That's right, all right?

Speaker 9 (30:47):
And you know all of that. He brought all all
of that, and he's the youngest heavyweight champion ever, you know,
all of that maybe the greatest combination of speed and
power and power on both sides. You know, he was
like Biggie Mano. He could hit from either side of
the plate, you know, I mean we had guys like
Ernie Shavers could knock the walls down, you know, and

(31:09):
then a lot of great punches. But for him, he
could punch with either hand, with speed, with quickness. I mean,
Joe Lewis was for me my favorite. He could punch
with either hand. But in this era, to see that
combination at that size, I mean, he was just explosive.

(31:31):
And and he you know, the leg Ali before him
and other ones. I will I won't put it with
Ali because nobody's with Ali. But you know, he revigorated
the sport, you know, because again you you knew you
you knew you were going to get a knockout. For
the most part, you knew you were going to get excitement.
So now I understand how you're feeling. One thing I'll

(31:53):
say about Paul, he he did. He didn't lie to
no one. He went out there. He had a vision
and he said, Okay, I'm gonna learn the most I
can about the sport. He did, He got a trainer,
he worked for a few years, he worked, He picked
his spots. Those were real fights, but there were real
fights where he picked his spots. But look, we have
fighters that picked their spot. Canela picks the spots. You know,

(32:16):
I know he's a real fighter. I get it at Mayweather.
He's a real fight, great fighter. I love may Weather,
greatest thing. One of the greatest defensive fighters of our time.
And and he mixed it with offense much more than
some of the guys do today than a good defensive fighters.
And he was a great promoter. But he he went
one thing. He he did the same thing, but obviously

(32:39):
he did it in a more calculated way. He didn't
have to, you know, have the amount of fights that
these other fighters have had. He picked his spots with
the UFS. He fighters the one great strikers. They were older,
they were passing, but still there was there was still
an amount of danger when he got in there because
it was still real. It was still Here's the thing
about this one. And I gave me sped for that

(33:00):
because he again, he had the American wave, the American dream.
He had a vision. He went out there, you know,
he had his followers, his twenty million followers from from
you know, YouTube, whatever, and he goes out there and
he takes you to a different arena, and he goes
out there and he makes money, and he makes you

(33:21):
work for him and now for the first time with
that scenario, I wonder if it's a WWE deal. I
have to I have to say that because because I
give him his credit that I wanted to make sure
I give him the credit I did. Tyson, of course
one of the great fighters. We already know that, but

(33:42):
now this one, it just feels like it was preordained.

Speaker 1 (33:47):
We only got about thirty seconds. Yeah, if it's a
real fight, how do you see it going?

Speaker 9 (33:54):
If it's now okay, now, I'm gonna blow you away
with the last thirty seconds. If it's a real fight, Tyson,
about one round.

Speaker 4 (34:01):
Okay, Okay, the power doesn't go, the power didn't go.

Speaker 9 (34:05):
The possibility. Look, I'm giving credit to Paul. He has
learned the sport the best that he can in this
short amount of time, and he's respected to sport and
he went out there and he's done what he had
to do. But Tyson's been fighting since twelve years old.

Speaker 5 (34:21):
I know, I'm right.

Speaker 9 (34:23):
Thank you twelve years old, and you got a guy
who's talking.

Speaker 1 (34:28):
We gotta run, Teddy we Y, my producers are all
in my ears.

Speaker 4 (34:33):
Great stuff as always, Teddy, all right.

Speaker 5 (34:36):
Thanks appreciated, thank you, all right, Moroco.

Speaker 3 (34:59):
Whatever you want to in the boat.

Speaker 5 (35:02):
It's shop talk super quick.

Speaker 4 (35:04):
This is a very quick shot to us, and we're
cheating because we know what.

Speaker 5 (35:08):
You can't even get a handcut, Chris.

Speaker 11 (35:09):
You gotta just get a shape that's right, just a
shape up now in light of Teddy Allis is incredible
performance in this last segment. Big Fight this weekend, Hainy Garcia.
Here's the question, guys, if you're gonna go watch the
fight or a super Bowl event or something like that
where it's definitely a viewing party, is it okay to
show up empty handedly?

Speaker 4 (35:27):
Rob Parker, to show up at at a fight party
or super Bowl.

Speaker 5 (35:31):
Party, Now, you gotta bring something.

Speaker 6 (35:33):
You gotta bring some beer or some nachos, some chips,
you know, a pool pool platter.

Speaker 5 (35:40):
You gotta bring something. Chris, you can't come.

Speaker 1 (35:42):
And I kind of feel like it may depend on
like are are guys married?

Speaker 3 (35:49):
Are there married couples?

Speaker 9 (35:52):
Like?

Speaker 1 (35:52):
I don't know if I would in my early twenties
if somebody invite me over to the Super Bowl, I
don't know that I would have been like, oh, what
can I bring?

Speaker 3 (36:00):
Just because usually my wife is like, we got to
bring something?

Speaker 5 (36:04):
Want to bring Chris like a bomb?

Speaker 1 (36:06):
Married my wife would, but I'm saying me as a
single dude at twenty two, I probably would not that
I would have been trying to get over. I just
don't know that my first thought would have been what
can I bring? It's just like when you get a
card from somebody and you got to mail them back
a return card. You know, that's my wife's telling me, Oho,
I got to mail back a card. I wish they

(36:27):
hadn't sent me a car, so wouldn't have to mail.

Speaker 5 (36:29):
Chris or at least bring a bunk cake or something.

Speaker 1 (36:33):
I mean again, nowadays, yeah, I'm fifty something years old,
I know, but I'm just talking about a bunch of
young boys.

Speaker 4 (36:42):
Like you said, Rob, they might bring some beer.

Speaker 5 (36:45):
Chips or something.

Speaker 1 (36:46):
Now, half a lot of Super Bowl parties and generally
people ask us what can we bring?

Speaker 3 (36:51):
But it's usually couples people.

Speaker 5 (36:53):
All right, Rob, g, I know you're bringing food. You
know what, Robbie is.

Speaker 11 (36:57):
I totally agree with you one thousand percent that everything
you're saying is accurate. And then the more I thought
about this, I've been to several viewing parties or barbecues
with my brother, like his house, and I've never brought anything.
Why my gosh, that guy, Like, I'm that guy just
showing just show up, showing up, getting all your beverages,
all whatever food you ate to me, picking the prime

(37:18):
seating in front of the TV.

Speaker 4 (37:20):
And I didn't bring anything, And I'm like, I'm that guy.

Speaker 5 (37:22):
But here's the bad part too. I'll bring what I want.

Speaker 6 (37:25):
Like if I go to a party, most people don't
have diet soda, so I'm not to make sure I
bring a six pack of diet if I'm drinking that, yes,
I have to.

Speaker 1 (37:34):
Bring that week if I'm having a party, I don't
want somebody bringing diet. So that's what I want to
Just bring a bowl of spinach. I mean what we
got chicken wings, pizza? I want some hamburgers.

Speaker 5 (37:50):
You know, soda?

Speaker 3 (37:51):
Are you bringing diet?

Speaker 5 (37:53):
Come on, Chris, do.

Speaker 12 (37:54):
You remember Rob Parker is the guy that went to
visit somebody for a barbecue and he requested certain type
of beef cuts and.

Speaker 5 (37:59):
All that side. I wanted the kind of hot dogs.

Speaker 12 (38:01):
I was for himself and the whole party.

Speaker 5 (38:03):
He asked me what how kind of hot dogs do
I eat? I was like, can you.

Speaker 3 (38:07):
Just bring in a rug to the party? Amazing?

Speaker 12 (38:11):
You know what's funny though, I know this.

Speaker 5 (38:13):
You go out, don't you have to bring something? You
can't eat everything?

Speaker 12 (38:16):
Well for myself, Oh, I ain't. Whatever's there.

Speaker 5 (38:20):
That's why you had made a couple of years.

Speaker 3 (38:21):
That's why you killed those ribs.

Speaker 12 (38:23):
That's right, I killed than. But I'll say this, when
I go to a party.

Speaker 6 (38:28):
I didn't have as many ribs as Alex had at
that party too much.

Speaker 12 (38:33):
I bring myself. I'm the entertainment. You're happy I'm there.
I don't need to bring anything.

Speaker 1 (38:36):
Oh wowow, So Alex is like no trust people tell
me all the time.

Speaker 3 (38:41):
Is my wife saying we got to bring some wine
or yeah, like.

Speaker 5 (38:44):
A bottle of wine. Chris, you can't go wrong with that.

Speaker 11 (38:46):
But you know, if Chris walks in with the bottle
of wine and my baby be a good bottle of wine.
I know what I've seen you on TV. This one
better not be from right Aid. It better be something
real fancy.

Speaker 6 (38:56):
You better go out and buy something, something that's aged
more than three days.

Speaker 3 (39:00):
On our left. Y'all know what the dude locket
