Speaker 4 (01:55):
I mean I was looking at him. Know it looked great,
but I ain't eating them.

Speaker 2 (01:59):
So I daniel Dilello, as you can hear, she's very
well educated.

Speaker 4 (02:03):
She she's as well educated.

Speaker 2 (02:07):
I'm a professor's yeah, you are, professor. How's everything going
in your classes?

Speaker 4 (02:14):
Do you know yesterday was my last day of the semester?
I was. I was so filled with emotion. I had
six students graduating on Sunday, so I gotta go see
them on Sunday and a couple of flowers.

Speaker 3 (02:28):
We ask the stereotypical professor questions, yeah, yeah, okay, did
anybody ask if they could improve their grade?

Speaker 1 (02:36):
Wink wink.

Speaker 4 (02:36):
At the end of the semester, I had one male
in my class, and he asked me to dinner. And
he goes, hey, professor, do you want to go out
to dinner with me? I said, maybe after May twentieth,
I'll go out with you.

Speaker 2 (02:52):
So you teach them, you teach them how to speak
also apparently I do. Yeah, huh, Well, explain to everyone
what your course is all about.

Speaker 4 (03:04):
My course is about live event promotion and touring, so
doing PR for events, public relations, sorry PR not Puerto Rico,
not Puerto Rican promotions and events and all that stuff.
So I'll go on to the red carpet and explain

(03:26):
to them, like, this is what we do. I did
actually take a couple of videos of me at some
of our events, like the Country Music Festival or Jingle Bowl,
and I explain to them what we do.

Speaker 1 (03:38):
Okay, was this your first semester doing this? I think
it was.

Speaker 4 (03:41):
Wasn't it my second one? Now?

Speaker 1 (03:43):
Are you gonna move to a third?

Speaker 4 (03:45):
I am? They asked me the other day, they said, hey,
Professor de Lula, would you like to teach again? I said, yeah,
if it's one day a week, but now I'm doing
it twice a week, and then next spring I'm gonna
do one day a week.

Speaker 2 (03:59):
So that is so cool, because you must love having
something that's totally different, detached from what you do here.
Yet it it's it's because you do so well here.

Speaker 1 (04:09):
You can be a great professor with that topic.

Speaker 4 (04:12):
I do love it. I love being able to help
the future business leaders of America.

Speaker 1 (04:19):
On a personal note, you have an actually spring in
your step. There's something different about you. What's changed recently?

Speaker 4 (04:26):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (04:26):
Well, I'm glad you asked.

Speaker 1 (04:27):
Scary doesn't want to talk about it. Oh, I don't know.
There's something different about it. Maybe it's your hair, maybe
it's I don't know. How's life? How's life treating you?

Speaker 4 (04:36):
What great? I am so happy. I just feel like
I'm back to my old Danielle Delilo self from well.

Speaker 2 (04:46):
You said that that, Well, hold on a second. So
for three and a half years, you haven't been yourself,
is what you're saying.

Speaker 4 (04:53):
I haven't fully been myself because I just was in
something that I realize I better off without. So okay, congratulations,
thank you. I died at Daka.

Speaker 3 (05:08):
Her shoulders seemed lighter.

Speaker 4 (05:10):
Yeah, I just I just feel happy. And if you're
happy and you know it, clap your hands.

Speaker 2 (05:17):
So, without without getting specific, how did how did you
work through it and come to the conclusion that, Okay,
I can live the life I want to live and
be happier, Like, how'd you get to this place?

Speaker 4 (05:29):
I just said, I didn't need this vulgan guy.

Speaker 1 (05:35):
Okay, there's that.

Speaker 2 (05:39):
Okay, So a lot of people are going to a
lot of a lot of ship, you know, and not
not all of it is relationship related.

Speaker 1 (05:47):
It could be anything at work or whatever.

Speaker 2 (05:49):
But one day you just wake up and go, that's it.
I'm in control here. What am I doing? Why am
I letting that control me? I control it? Is that
sort of happened to you?

Speaker 4 (05:57):
Yeah, exactly, And I just I will up one day
and I said, this is not how I want to
live my life. I want to do what I want
to do. I want to go travel where I want
to travel. I want to go to Italy again. I
want to go visit the places where my family started
doing their own bakeries and making bread and the pastas

(06:19):
and the canolis, you know. I want to go back
to the country where my family was from. And I
want to go to I want to go to an
island that I've never been to before, and I want
to just experience different cultures. And now I'm able to
just go and do that. Hell yeah, freedom to go
by myself and maybe I'll meet, you know, new friends

(06:41):
and new foes or whatever.

Speaker 1 (06:44):
We know yours. We know you very well.

Speaker 2 (06:48):
You will without doubt meet new friends. Oh that's just
the way you are. I love that you're celebrating yourself
and you're taking care of yourself because if you don't
do it, no one else will.

Speaker 4 (06:57):
And in two weeks from today, I'll be forty okay.
And I said to myself self, I think I'm going
to write a book, and I'm gonna write I'm gonna
write a couple of books twenty years, you know, from
twenty five to forty five. I mean, I've been through
a lot of stuff, but I've experienced a lot of
great and exciting things and I just want to write

(07:19):
about it. And then when I'm sixty five, I want
to write about the last twenty years. So I want
to I just want to write a couple of things
down that I feel that could help people. And I
also want to write a children's book. So you should
at least narrate go the fuck to sleep.

Speaker 1 (07:40):
Or awesome?

Speaker 4 (07:42):
I uh. The new program director here, he he loves
the accent. So I told him, I said, if you
ever need to forget about it, I'll record it for
you so you could play it back to someone you
know that needs to hear her forget about it.

Speaker 2 (07:56):
So you know, I've bet a lot of people are
listening to this right now, going gosh, you know that
needs to be me right now. I need to be
making these decisions for myself right now for me. And
it's okay to put yourself first. It's good you have
to because.

Speaker 1 (08:09):
Like I said, no one else will Unfortunately, no ovation,
any questions for.

Speaker 2 (08:16):
Danielle, any questions what I.

Speaker 3 (08:19):
Wish you guys got to see Danielle that day she
decided to take her take the life into her own hands,
and she came into work that day like the kool
aid man and like she she like burst down the
door like hey everybody, and it was it was kind
of cool to see being on the other side of it,
seeing her reaction to being so happy.

Speaker 1 (08:37):
Wow, look at that. She was noticeable. I love that. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (08:41):
You know, you got one life. You gotta live it
every day to the fullest. And I always was taught
by my grandpa, if you smile, the whole world will
smile with you. And that's why every day I try
to make one person smile or laugh because it's important.
No matter how bad of a day I'm having, usually
you'll never know about it because I don't want to

(09:03):
bring anybody down. I just want to make everyone happy
and smile. Like I said, if you're happy and you know,
clap hands. I feel like if anybody deserves the happiness,
that you because you're always trying to bring other people
happiness and do things very well, the first one to help,
Like if you need something, you know you can smaller.

Speaker 1 (09:25):
You're quite the gift for all of us. We love you,
daniel And.

Speaker 4 (09:27):
You know what, she just got honored by the Gracie
Committee for being a Shining Star Women in Media. I
