Speaker 1 (00:03):
Welcome to Before Breakfast, a production of iHeartRadio. Good Morning,
This is Laura. Welcome to the Before Breakfast podcast. Today's
tip is to buy a box of birthday cards. You
can celebrate more people in your life by making thoughtfulness

(00:25):
a lot easier. So plenty of people wish their friends
and relations a happy birthday with a text or email,
and there is nothing wrong with that. However, it is
still fun to get a little something in the mail.
It feels slightly more permanent than those disappearing bits of

(00:47):
electronic confetti. If you send holiday cards, then you already
have a lot of people's mailing addresses. If you pay
attention on social media, or even just keep a running
list somewhere, you probably know a lot of people's birthdays.
So theoretically you could send a card a few days

(01:07):
before so it reaches the birthday boy or girl on time.
The problem most people don't have birthday cards sitting around.
They'd need to go to a drug store or target
and wade through the stacks of perhaps not entirely accurate
or appropriate sentiments. That extra bit of friction can prevent

(01:28):
people from following through. But this doesn't need to be
an issue. You can buy boxes of birthday cards online.
Amazon sells a great many, as do other retailers. I
recently purchased a box of one hundred twenty birthday cards
in a variety of designs. The sentiments are either broad

(01:51):
enough to be universal, think best wishes for a great year,
or else the cards are blank. Either works, You add
your own note and can personalize however you would like. Now,
if my kids are going to a birthday party, or
if someone I know is celebrating a birthday, reaching into

(02:11):
the box and writing a card doesn't take much more
effort than writing an email. Texts are fine too, of
course I like birthday texts, but something handwritten can just
be a bonus. So consider buying a box of birthday
cards to make sending birthday wishes easier on yourself. A

(02:32):
big box will likely last you a long time and
generate a lot of fun along the way. In the meantime,
this is Laura, Thanks for listening, and here's to making
the most of our time. Thanks for listening to before Breakfast.
