Speaker 1 (00:03):
Welcome to Before Breakfast, a production of iHeartRadio. Good Morning.
This is Laura. Welcome to the Before Breakfast podcast. Today's
tip is that you can make your life less chaotic
and more enjoyable by learning a few simple strategies. Consciously

(00:24):
choosing to build them into your life over the next
two months or so could make life feel very different.
I know several listeners of the Before Breakfast podcast join
me for my recent time tracking challenge. Thousands of folks
tracked their time together for a week, seeing where the

(00:46):
time really went so we could make better choices if
you participated in that wonderful I hope time tracking was useful.
I am now running another challenge starting later this week,
or people will learn my nine favorite time management rules
over nine weeks. These are the rules I write about

(01:08):
in Tranquility By Tuesday, my most recent book. You can
sign up on my website Laura vandercam dot com to
get an email each Friday for nine weeks explaining each
new rule. I'll write about the rule during the week
on my blog, and then on each Thursday, I'll send
an email with some questions designed to help you reflect

(01:29):
on the rule and how it played out. In your life.
These habits are pretty simple. It is not a spoiler
to share some of them, like give yourself a bedtime,
or plan on Fridays, or move by three pm, or
create backup slots, or plan in one big adventure in
one little adventure each week. However, these habits can be

(01:53):
life changing. That's what I found out when in early
twenty twenty one I had one one hundred and fifty
people try out these rules for nine weeks. One participant
in my study told me that these habits had encouraged
me to be intentional about building in time for joy
and restoration. Another told me that these rules helped in

(02:17):
getting past the sense that my life was an unending
to do list. Wrote another, I'm most proud of changing
the story that I tell myself. I do have time
for the things that are important to me, and time
for fun too. If that sounds good to you, then
please join me in trying these habits out. I've been

(02:39):
monitoring how I do on my nine favorite time management
rules over the past few months, and I can tell
you that when I follow them, life really does feel better.
Not perfect, of course, because life is never perfect, but
it is definitely better. On the nights, I observe my bedtime.

(03:00):
I sleep better during the weeks. When I plan my
week on Friday, everything feels more under control. When I
batch the little things, the little things don't take over
my life. I hope you will feel the same way
as well. So let's learn these nine rules over nine

(03:22):
weeks together. Visit Laura vandercam dot com to sign up.
In the meantime, this is Laura. Thanks for listening, and
here's to making the most of our time. Hey, everybody,

(03:43):

your tips, your questions, or anything else. Just connect with
me on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram at Before Breakfast pod

Boysober

Boysober

Have you ever wondered what life might be like if you stopped worrying about being wanted, and focused on understanding what you actually want? That was the question Hope Woodard asked herself after a string of situationships inspired her to take a break from sex and dating. She went "boysober," a personal concept that sparked a global movement among women looking to prioritize themselves over men. Now, Hope is looking to expand the ways we explore our relationship to relationships. Taking a bold, unfiltered look into modern love, romance, and self-discovery, Boysober will dive into messy stories about dating, sex, love, friendship, and breaking generational patterns—all with humor, vulnerability, and a fresh perspective.
