Speaker 1 (00:00):
High Family Secrets. Family, it's Danny here to tell you
a couple of things. First, I know many of you
are eagerly waiting for the new season of Family Secrets.
We've been hard at work for many months now, and
season six will drop on Thursday, December ninth, right around
(00:23):
the corner. So mark your calendars, subscribe and listen wherever
you get your podcasts. I am super excited about this
new season. I know I've said this every single season
since our launch way back in or the before times
as I now think of them, but I'm going to
say it again. In my opinion, this season is the
best yet. My guests and their stories are amazing, filled
(00:46):
with hard things and hope and grace. I hope you
all will love it. Now on to the day at hand, Thanksgiving.
Many of us have the big feelings on the holidays,
maybe now more than ever. Some of us have experienced losses, grief,
and suffering during the last year, and the holidays brings
(01:09):
all that to the surface. Many of us have felt
quite anxious and isolated because of the last eighteen months encounting.
Many of us are seeing family for the first time,
and when we gather around the table all our secrets
and ghosts, our ancestors, and our baggage sit down with us.
I have learned so much during these past few years
(01:31):
about family secrets, large and small, the way they haunt us,
the way they shape us. And yet here we are
speaking from myself. These last couple of years have not
been easy. My husband's serious illness several years ago has
taught me a lot about living each day fully and
finding beauty wherever we can. We can feel multiple feelings simultaneously.
(01:56):
A dose of gratitude can soften everything. As treakly as
that might sound, it really can. So can approaching the
day in the spirit of curiosity and exploration. Everyone listening
to this message from me is alive and on the
planet at this very moment, able to download a podcast
and listen, able to think, and able to feel. One
(02:20):
of my favorite prayers goes like this days pass and
the years vanish, and we walk sightless among miracles. Here's
my challenge to every single one of us. See the
miracles around you. They're there. In the meantime, I'm sending
my whole family secrets, family, much love, and my unending gratitude.
(02:44):
I hope you'll tune in on December ninth,
