Speaker 1 (00:05):
Hey, this is Sanny and Samantha.
Speaker 2 (00:06):
Welcome to stuff I'll never tell you production to buy
her radio, and welcome to another edition of Happy Hour.
If you're listening to this when it comes out, it's
coming out on Saturday.
Speaker 1 (00:23):
Oh, weekend, weekend Happy Hours even better?
Speaker 3 (00:28):
Yeah, probably.
Speaker 1 (00:32):
Weekend hours. Yes.
Speaker 2 (00:35):
Well, as always, if you choose to drink or whatever
you choose to do, please just say responsively, Samantha, what
are you sipping.
Speaker 1 (00:42):
On bubble water? But not that brand?
Speaker 2 (00:48):
Okay, Well, the thing we talk about is directly sponsored
in this episode. We'll get fined unless we tell you that,
So we take that very seriously.
Speaker 1 (00:57):
We take that seriously. We can't be fine and I
can't afford that.
Speaker 3 (01:01):
No, no, no, no, no no.
Speaker 2 (01:05):
Anyway, as you might have noticed if you're a regular
listener this week, we've been kind of all over the
place in our publishing, and we have been building up
to this for a while. But Samantha and I recently
went to Seattle. Samantha did some other stuff for her birthday,
and then I tagged along for a part of it.
(01:26):
I thought we would just talk about how that trip was.
Speaker 1 (01:29):
Yeah, yeah, definitely. I think I've already said this a
few times, and he's probably already said this a few times.
As much fun as it was, Yes, I ended up
getting COVID, it is still happening. It is still out there.
You also be cautious at the booster, get the booster,
be courteous of others, all the things. If you do
(01:49):
get it, or if you're exposed to it, make sure
you continue to isolate, which I have been hiding in
my house for like a good full week since we
got home, essentially. Oh but yeah, So it was very
fun though it's such a great trip. I feel like
everything we did we won, like that if this was
a competition. I was like, yeah, we want this, we
(02:09):
want this. We got upgraded in a hotel, which Adie
was very bitter about because the hotel was amazing in
the part of her Last of Us list, and I didn't.
Speaker 2 (02:17):
Know, No, she didn't know, but she made to bring
it up after the fact.
Speaker 1 (02:22):
The reaction was so intense. I was like, well, of
course you have to keep bringing it up. Now. We
had like a penthouse level, not penthouse but penthouse level
hotel room, which was gorgeous of a historic hotel, which
was very far away from like the seaside or the
water side. So when we walked down, my partner and
(02:45):
I got lost kind of because he forgot exactly where
things were and he thought he had remembered it from
fifteen years earlier. Huge mistake, Oh, huge mistake. But it
was still very, very very fun. Went to Mount right
near y'all. It was gorgeous, gorgeous, like the words cannot
(03:06):
explain how amazing the sites were. We went on too
strenuous hikes when I swore up and down we would
be car touring and doing small hikes. Yeah, I was
in pain. We were in pain, but worth it. It
was gorgeous. Some marmots is that what they're called?
Speaker 3 (03:21):
Marmots?
Speaker 1 (03:22):
Yeah, marmots, Yeah, marmots. I cannot say it. But they
were super cute. They were super friendly, Like we didn't
touch them, we didn't feed them anything, y'all, but they
came close to us. I was like, what very exciting,
very exciting, chip nuks did not care and try to
steal your food. They didn't care. But it was gorgeous.
Had the best time there, some like amazing relaxing times again,
(03:45):
loss of hiking, and then went to Portland to see
a friend and that was a fun times and even
producer super producer executive producer Sophie y'all know she's a
friend of iHeart over Cool Zone Media. I had to
hang out with her for a day and then yeah,
and then met up with Annie for Seattle, which we
(04:06):
got to do with all the things. The one thing
we didn't do was do with the aquarium. Was is like,
I'm good, you have fun with that. One thing we
my partner and I didn't do with Annie was the
aquarium because that was on her tourist list of last
of Us things she must do, which, yeah, we hit
all of your stuff, right, we.
Speaker 2 (04:27):
Did hit all of my stuff actually, so I'll go
over that really quickly. So yes, I've said it before,
but Smith has the unfortunate honor of sharing her birthday with.
Speaker 3 (04:41):
The Last of Us day.
Speaker 2 (04:43):
The trailer did for the second season did come out
on that day. But I had a list of stuff
I wanted to go to. The big ones were the aquarium,
the Ferrisville Paramount Theater. Those are like, it's huge in
the game and I cannot wait to replay the game
now that I've been to all of these places. And
I was trying to be the least annoying possible, but
(05:05):
I was like, oh my god, I got.
Speaker 3 (05:07):
Lost of us.
Speaker 2 (05:10):
And we also went to the General Public Library, the
sorrental Hotel, which is where you and your partners say
that I saw from Afart, but the space Needle, which
was fun.
Speaker 3 (05:23):
We went to Capitol Hill and we saw the Rainbow crosswalks.
Speaker 2 (05:26):
We also ended up kind of accidentally in the Unicorn Bar,
which is very college bar, and it was quite funny.
Speaker 3 (05:33):
It was quite funny.
Speaker 1 (05:36):
So we were trying to do at least some of
the not so tourists the things. So Fremont we tried
to do a little bit like a hanging out there.
Didn't see the troll, saw the troll a bridge troll.
And then we also went to Capitol Hill and hung out,
and we went to a bookstore that's also a bookstore,
coffee shop, restaurant I had gone. We had gone to
(06:00):
a restaurant for my birthday that I wanted to go to,
which was an Italian place that was named after the Chinquita,
which is the Italian area that I went to immediately
after my college graduation as a president of myself and
had such good memories. I was like Oh my god,
I want to go and see what the pasta And
I'm like, it was the pasta was delicious. It just
(06:23):
has a name. I think the people are actually from
the Creators and the owners are actually from and Leap
and all of that. But like they didn't have the
the dessert drink that I was expected. Oh, but the
food was so so good. The Taaromi sue was so
so good. But yeah, in Capitol Hill, we were like,
we're gonna be cool. We're gonna stay out. We're gonna
(06:43):
be staying out past ten. Again. This is not my
thing because I'm like, I passed out every night, like
eleven eleven thirty. I was like, y'all, good night. Like
while Annie was be sitting in our hotel room, I
was passing out because I was just sleepy. So but
we went, We're like, yeah, we're gonna do this cool thing.
Let's go. Let's go get a drink at a bar.
This has high reviews. A lot of locals like it. Yeah,
(07:05):
a lot of locals who go to school there. We'll
like it. I will say. We weren't the oldest people
now there.
Speaker 3 (07:13):
No, And it was beautiful and it was like really fun.
It was fun. It was fun.
Speaker 2 (07:18):
It was just funny because I think we were when
we first walked in, we were.
Speaker 3 (07:22):
Like, oh no, no, no.
Speaker 1 (07:23):
No, we weren't there for the cocktails. We'll say that
the cocktails were again college dive bar level, which was fine,
which we had a good drink and we sat A
drag show was happening downstairs, immediately followed by some other show.
I don't know what was happening, but I was like,
oh man, what Yeah, So fun times were had seeing
(07:47):
the locals hang out, being a part of the locals.
You know, we're like, that's all right, we're cool. We
stood out a lot.
Speaker 2 (07:53):
Yeah, yeah, but it was fun. Also just to finish
up my loom and Fields Seattle Conference Center, I saw
the Chinatown gates, Yeah, the dome, so I made there's
a list you can look up if you like me
and you care, and it'll show you like the side
by side and.
Speaker 3 (08:13):
I I'm so happy. I'm so happy.
Speaker 2 (08:17):
I was having moments I was having I.
Speaker 1 (08:21):
Was which is again so the way we talked it
was at that birthday dinner when we were talking about
our stay and my partner and I were excited because
we got an upgrade we were like, wait what into
a very nice, nice room and we were like, huh
interesting what And our starver came up and she's like, oh,
what hotel was that? We were like, we were at
(08:42):
the hotels Rontow. The look on Adie's face looked like
I had just splashed her with cold water, like a
cup of cold water. That was and I was very confused.
I was like, what's going on? Like I thought something
bad had happened or something upsetting it had happened. And
I was like, what's happening? And then all was like, oh, well,
now I'm just gonna bring it up every time that
we actually stayed there.
Speaker 3 (09:03):
Ye, sure did.
Speaker 1 (09:19):
Did you have a favorite part of the.
Speaker 3 (09:21):
Trip of those things? Uh? Yeah, the aquarium? I think
the aquarium Parisville was cool.
Speaker 1 (09:29):
You got some good pictures.
Speaker 3 (09:30):
Oh, the theater was cool too. The theater was really cool.
And I was.
Speaker 2 (09:36):
I went to a show listeners that I had that
was the only way I could get in, So I
was gonna see a show I knew nothing about. And
I walked I walked in and I asked, like the
person who was checking tickets, can I take pictures in here?
Because they had a huge sign that said no pictures
and she's like, oh yeah, yeah they met like of
(09:57):
the show, but it just did no picture. Sure, So
I was like, I do not need to get thrown
out of this theater before I could even see it.
Speaker 1 (10:06):
Was it a good show? I never I never got
uh yeah it was.
Speaker 2 (10:10):
It's called Funny Girl. And it was like, oh, the musical, Yes,
that's what it was. Have you seen it, lady, that's
one of the biggest plays. I didn't know the way
you've called you said when waite man, that's what you
(10:32):
called it.
Speaker 4 (10:34):
I thought it was something like that. Oh my god, okay,
this is a oh my god, you have you heard Okay, okay, okay.
Speaker 1 (10:51):
You just the name you called it made it sound
like it's a one act play.
Speaker 3 (10:55):
I thought it was a girl.
Speaker 1 (10:58):
As a whole damn musical.
Speaker 3 (11:00):
This is great. This showcases our differences. So well, do
you not know.
Speaker 1 (11:04):
What funny girl?
Speaker 2 (11:05):
Oh my gosh, well that's what I saw.
Speaker 3 (11:11):
It's good.
Speaker 1 (11:13):
Oh yes, I have heartled. This is this quaint little
thing that like started a woman's career. Sure sure, sure, sure,
sure yeah sure named Barbara streisand sure sure.
Speaker 3 (11:27):
Well anyway, yeah, that.
Speaker 2 (11:32):
Was really good. Also, we went to the Museum of
Pop Culture. That was really fun. Yeah, that was unexpected.
That was a really fun. Yeah, we weren't. I had
it on my list, but I didn't if we would
make time for it, but we did. That was a
long day, but we did make time for it. We
also saw our book. It's my first time seeing our book.
I saw it in a library and we saw it
(11:53):
in a bookstore. So that was really really.
Speaker 1 (11:54):
Cool at Capitol Hill.
Speaker 2 (11:57):
Yes, and then I would say, like the food would
stand out. As always, I really want to shout out
listener Roseye rode In sent us a bunch of suggestions,
very detailed. Love it And I got to have a
meal with Rose and it was just such a delight.
And I know I'm said I missed that one. If
(12:19):
you're listening, Rose, thank you so much, and I thank you.
A good time, and yeah, we we we hit some
some We hit restaurants at least two, and then I did.
I stayed a day later than Samantha and her partner did.
My flight got so delayed I thought I would be
there another day and I ended up getting tariocy and chowder,
(12:42):
which were the two things on my list that I
didn't think I would get but Rose was like, you
better get cheriokey, and I did and it was delicious.
Speaker 1 (12:48):
Yeah, we missed out on that one, but we did
get chowder at the airport. We looked at the list
and we got it was good. It was so good.
Speaker 3 (12:57):
We also had a lot of oysters listeners much oyster.
Speaker 1 (13:02):
I jumped in. This's the first night. I was like,
I need oyster seafood. Giving me all the seafood right now.
Speaker 3 (13:08):
All the seafood.
Speaker 2 (13:09):
That was really nice, Like getting West coast seafood because Atlanta,
like we'd landlocked kind of near a coast, but we're
not on the coast.
Speaker 1 (13:18):
Someone suggested barbecue to us and my partner and I
looked at them and I didn't mean to give them
the but I'm like, we're from the South. We don't
need barbecue.
Speaker 3 (13:28):
I need seafood.
Speaker 1 (13:29):
Give me Seattle food like I don't. I don't. I
don't need all that.
Speaker 2 (13:32):
Yeah, yeah, but yeah, it was a good We had
a lovely time.
Speaker 1 (13:40):
We had a beautiful time. It was a great birthday. Thanks.
Some of you all commented on my very private it's
the gram post. I keep it private for reasons, but
thank you so much to those who did. It was
a good time. And yeah now I'm just wrapping up.
Hopefully I'll feel better by next week.
Speaker 2 (14:00):
Yeah, yes, hopefully, hopefully you will, and hopefully we get
to go back someday.
Speaker 1 (14:08):
Yes, I'm already looking forward to it.
Speaker 2 (14:09):
Yes, well, you heard my whole pitch about how I
should start the last of US two themed tour and bar.
Then you told me it was too expensive for the bar.
Speaker 1 (14:19):
Yeah, I think the tour. I think the tour. You're
just gonna go work with some of the bars, like
the Hotel Sorento Bar. They also have a roof to
believe and see.
Speaker 2 (14:30):
You could be subtle about it. You could be like
if you know you know, you know, you know you know. Yeah,
all right, well I have.
Speaker 1 (14:38):
A You could also have like the upland level of
attraction where you have a badly costumed person just kind
of pop out of nowhere, you know, talking.
Speaker 2 (14:49):
About I want my tour to be prestige.
Speaker 1 (14:53):
We gotta get a variety somehow.
Speaker 3 (14:55):
You're right, I'll see how.
Speaker 2 (14:57):
If I'm failing, then I'll like jump the shark and
into do that. Okay, but yeah, thank you so much
listeners for your patients as we've all been traveling and
had illnesses and so much coming on. But yeah, it
was a really lovely time and thanks again to Rose
