Speaker 1 (00:05):
Hey, this is Annie and Samantha.
Speaker 2 (00:06):
I'm welcome to Stephan never told your protection of iHeartRadio.
Speaker 1 (00:18):
And welcome to our Monday Money. And this is a
follow up because the last Monday Money talked about why
people love haunted houses and Annie, we talked about the
fact that, yes, it applies to you definitely, and I
got to see that. I got to see all of
that because we actually did a world wind trip of
(00:40):
going to La to experience Universal Studios HHN and Annie
is a pro, so she went ahead and booked the tickets.
We got the two pm jury with express pass. And
we know this is a very privileged statement to say,
but if you can, that's probably the old way to
(01:00):
experience all of the haunted houses in one evening. And yes,
it is expensive and off the top, which is why
when we talked about vacation previously that we talked about
why most families can't afford such as that, and I'm like,
oh my god, yeah, there was no way five years
ago I could have afforded any of this one thing.
(01:21):
We talked about that in your happy hour and how
absurd it is to do these things. I get like,
you try to go in and people really are disappointed.
I've seen so many TikTok videos of people like, this
is not fair. We paid, they didn't. They're still pretty
expensive just for general admission, but having to stand in
line and miss out or you only get two opportunities
(01:43):
the entire night it was it is. It's absurd, and uh,
it's not accessible. It's not accessible where we would because
going up and down the escalators, I guess there's elevators somewhere,
but again it's packed, so nothing's really accessible. So I
feel like, yeah, this is a great experience, but it's
very ablest and classist, like we're just go ahead and
(02:06):
put that out there, so we understand this as we're
talking about it and laughing about it and enjoying it, like, yes,
that is a statement. We acknowledge it. But because we
finally get to a point that we can do this,
we did. I will say I have previously spoken about
the fact that I do not love haunted houses, and
(02:27):
is in fact I actually I had told Andy a
long time ago I would never go to one because
they are my nightmare. But look at me, look at us,
because I did attend, and I did get to see
Annie in action and her love for these tortures, and yeah,
(02:47):
just so you know, we did get there a little early,
not super early, but we checked out like some of
the things. We didn't write anything, but the experience was nice.
The hotel that Annie booked was right on Universe, so
it was literally a five minute walk away. I came
in very jet lacked. Immediately, I was like, I'm tired.
But Annie was ready to go because she had been
(03:08):
in Las Vegas so kind of had adjusted a little
more than I have. But you still are traveling and
traveling it like takes me out, like no matter what.
Speaker 2 (03:15):
Yeah, but you were ready to go.
Speaker 1 (03:18):
But because of the room that you booked, you were
able to get the prime view and seating, y'all. I
don't think in the hotel rooms. We barely talked because
I was wiped out and Annie was loving every minute
of the view and working on her fan fiction.
Speaker 2 (03:35):
It's true.
Speaker 3 (03:36):
It was very funny because it was a high up
enough room that I could sort of like look down
in to the park and if you've ever done Universal Orlando,
La Universe La is very small, so I could get
I could see a lot, I could survey from my perch.
So I turned and I had my laptop up so
(03:58):
I could do fan fiction stuff, but I could still
see the park from the window of the hotel and Samantha.
I loved it because I would be like, there's fire,
it's a fireball, and I would just hear, mmmm.
Speaker 1 (04:13):
Asleep, this is me half asleep, pepping for what is
like a stressful night for me, maybe because being crowds,
being scared, all those things are not my favorite. But
like I was like, Okay, I'm a prep I'm gonna
be in a good situation. It was. We did. We
had a great time. Like I was able to do
everything and like go through it. I got tired at
(04:34):
the end, but like I wasn't overly tired again. Going
from Georgia to LA big time difference, and I had
a layover, so my flight times would be like even
though it's like I think a four and a half hour,
five hour flight in total was like ten hours each way. Yea,
so it was a little different. But yeah, so I
would hear, oh my god, the fire, Oh my god,
(04:56):
they're doing this, Oh my god, the crowds. Wait, why
are they turning around? What's like every few minutes, and
which I would be like, mm, hmmmm mm hmm neat.
Speaker 3 (05:06):
And then I started to like try to hold it
my updates so I wouldn't bother you. But then you'd
ask me, like what's going on. I'm like, right, here's
what I've learned.
Speaker 1 (05:14):
So I would come back. I was like, oh, it's
just too quiet. She's I don't know what she's doing,
so I'll check out, like everything, Okay, what's going on
over there? She's like WHOA well, and then I get
that She's like I'm pretty sure because she was also
assessing online as well about how to do everything, which
was beautiful for me because I'm like, I'm just gonna
follow you. This is wonderful, and so like that's how
we began. We had a lovely dinner a Maakazi. The
(05:37):
chef thought we were ridiculous, but he found us amusing.
And then we went to uh the park, which, by
the way, so we will We only did uber or
A left a couple of times because we didn't leave much,
but every time we did, they all were like not
luxury but like higher in like we had a tesla
(05:58):
at one point, we had and uh hybrid lexus all
these things that I was like, well, I don't know.
It's like it's just a part of like maintaining that
car that they did lift. But it was very interesting
to me. I was like, what are these cars? The
Tesla was one because I was like I don't know
how to get out, and the dude and you, I
(06:20):
was like, I'm stuck. We live here, but he was prepared.
We didn't know, like, yeah, you don't have a car
like that is very true, sir, my car. Yes, apparently
it is number one, but stolen car because there's something
wrong with the startup but whatever. But yeah, so that
was an interesting experience. But as we went, uh they
(06:43):
were prepping so it hadn't quite happened yet. The turnover
for uh hh n had not happened, so we got
to see that process. So we were very early. We
got to enjoy cheer ros because that was my one demand.
I was like, I want che ros, So I got
my chew Rose. Weaited, waited for a while, but uh yeah, an,
can you describe the haunted houses?
Speaker 2 (07:05):
Yeah, we got there.
Speaker 3 (07:06):
It was a good time. It was kind of like
right before it changed over. I could go into all
of these details that people don't care about but me about,
like the differences in Orlando and La but it was
nice because in Orlando they kind of quarantine you, but
they didn't really do that for us. We get a
wristband walk around. We got to see the Super Mario
Brothers World, which was awesome.
Speaker 1 (07:26):
It was very nice.
Speaker 3 (07:27):
It takes like beautiful pictures. Yes they clearly thought about
which I'm sure of course, but like it takes really
beautiful pictures. We didn't get to ride the ride, the
Mario Kart ride, nor eat the food, but we had
a nice We got to see it.
Speaker 2 (07:42):
We got to relax there for a minute.
Speaker 3 (07:44):
And then I think right about when the Haunted Houses
started opening, we started with Las monstro.
Speaker 2 (07:54):
Monstairs.
Speaker 1 (07:55):
That's a plant.
Speaker 2 (07:57):
Oh well, it's not that.
Speaker 3 (08:00):
But this was a real test because at this point
I was like, I don't know what's going to happen
with though I've been and this was our first onunt
it ask, I had never been to it, so I
had I didn't have like some kind of knowledge I
could give that I tried to do with some of
the other ones, and uh, I thought it went well.
(08:20):
You definitely squeezed my hand pretty tight, and I was
like I could get some damage here.
Speaker 1 (08:25):
But overall, I will say that there was one house
you squeezed my hand more than I squeezed yours. I
was very surprised by that. But yes, most majority of
the time we immediately went in. So we started off
with that one, not knowing what to expect. Obviously the
front we do have a good video of all of it.
(08:47):
But like we walked in and there's like a grim
ripper type of thing at the beginning with his little
uh sigh. So we walked in and immediately like there
are people painted as a Laurana, which is the legend
Mexican legend I believe of the one that kills the
(09:08):
children because she's like a mourning mother, but like it's
different monsters from that legend, and they do pop out
of windows, which they love to do, which wasn't like
it was scary. I was screaming. I definitely not only
held Annie's hand, I actually grabbed onto the back of
her jacket as well. As we were going around and
I realized, okay, these are open windows. I could see them,
(09:30):
and Annie would point at them like that it's coming here,
it's coming here, and so I would try to dodge
and because Annie was so excited and they saw her.
They would pop out at her, and I'm like, okay, great,
there are people in front of us. So as long
as we were in a crew, we were fine. Yes,
because they just kind of pinpoint different people who would
scream who didn't. There would be like dudes who's just
(09:51):
like whatever, not gonna not gonna scream whatever. There was
one dude it was like the entire time, but I
believe scared out of me because all he did was
scream but there was nothing there, and I screamed too.
I was like why and I got mad at immediately,
like why would you do that? But he was scared,
Like it wasn't like there was other people who who
actually were trying to full mess with us or their
(10:12):
girlfriends or their days whatever, but this one he actually
was scared and just ran into a wall and screamed
and I screamed, and I was very mad at them.
So we came out and my I think response was okay, okay, okay, okay,
I did it. I did it. I did it. I
did it all right, that wasn't bad, okay, okay, okay,
(10:34):
I did Like we need to go get something now.
That's my theory when I go Christmas shopping because I
hate shopping. It's like, if I go to a busy store, afterwards,
I deserve a treat. Whether it's an ice cream or
a cupcake, I'm gonna get it. But that was I
was like, we'red to go a treat. Let's treats. We
missed the opening we did we missed the opening show,
but we could hear it because there was like screaming
(10:55):
and a fire and which Annie had.
Speaker 2 (10:58):
Been seeing the entire time commenting on you. So that
was that was. That was good.
Speaker 1 (11:05):
But I made it to that one and you were
like okay.
Speaker 3 (11:09):
And then we took like a little break and then
we did. I think we did Evil Dead Rising next
because it was right right next to it, and that
one I hadn't been to either, and it scared me.
Speaker 1 (11:21):
That was that was a freaky That was a freaky one.
That was the one that you were squeezing my hand.
Speaker 2 (11:27):
Yeah, I I was.
Speaker 3 (11:29):
There was a couple I always think of as it
Sean Evans from Hot Ones. He always has that quote
where you're like the guests will be like you're sweating
now too, and he always says like I'm not immune too.
Speaker 2 (11:42):
Yeah, I liked that part though.
Speaker 3 (11:45):
I like the getting scared, yes, And I was thinking
about our conversation previously about why people like it or don't.
I know I've said this before, but I have actually
have trouble screaming, like in auditions and stuff. I can't
I don't want to try too much attention to myself
or whatever it is. And a haunted house was like
a really fun place to just like, let loose, let
(12:06):
those screams go.
Speaker 1 (12:08):
Man, your screams are deep though, like like that level
that's where I do both. And sometimes I'm like, no,
like I actually physically scream uh, physical people in order
to do but yeah, you have the deep scream which
made me laugh.
Speaker 2 (12:25):
Yeah pretty hard.
Speaker 1 (12:28):
Okay, Like there were people with us that I actually
scream screamed, uh, And so I was I was so
busy hiding that some of the times I was like
distracted because Evil Dead Rise Uh was was good and
it was scary and the zombies come popping out of nowhere,
like what the hell is that? And I screamed pretty good. Bit.
(12:48):
We squeezed each other hands. I left, and I think
I might have doubled over at the exit. I was
like Okay, okay, I think that was where that happened.
There was like the ones that we knew about wasn't
as scary, so the Chucky not that scary. I was like, okay,
that's just more eugh. He got me that one time, though,
(13:10):
and you let it happen. I wanted it happen. Yeah,
it was quite funny. It's like it's coming, but you
loved it. You I'm not gonna love this. I liked
the fact that I saw it because I was far
enough behind and he was too far up to see
running from behind a door, and I was like, oh,
there it goes.
Speaker 2 (13:28):
It was funny.
Speaker 3 (13:39):
One of my favorite things is I think it was
the Stranger Things one. So a lot of the bigger
ones Evil Dead rise kind of separately, but a lot
of the bigger ones, like Chucky, the Last of Us Exorcists,
are not scary Stranger Things.
Speaker 2 (13:51):
They're much more like, oh.
Speaker 3 (13:53):
Cool, look at that visual effects. Yeah, which, and they
have jump scares, don't get me wrong at all, but
like not as many.
Speaker 2 (14:00):
Yeah, it's much.
Speaker 1 (14:01):
More like whoo.
Speaker 3 (14:06):
But there are certain jumps that really got me, and
one of them was in a Stranger Things.
Speaker 2 (14:10):
So the scientists came for me. He came for me.
Speaker 3 (14:14):
But I like how there was one part I feel
like in the Exorcist where you turned me around like this,
so I was facing like the wall.
Speaker 1 (14:26):
Okay, let me explain, because I did I physically. I
physically moved her like psationally is what happened, because I
grabbed onto our bag of her jackets so tightly that
I was controlling her arms and her entire body. And
because I was behind her, I think I actually had
one hand to I had a hand and I was
(14:48):
trying to arrest you, essentially because I was like, no,
I'm not about this life in which there would be
times where I could not figureut where people were coming
and I could not figure out what was happening. There
was one time when I talked about being separated from
the group. There was such a gap between the people
in front of you and us that we we gave
(15:11):
enough time for the people who scare people to jump
out every time, every time, so I never had a break.
I was pissed you were, and I kept screaming at
any move. I just kept saying that at the same
time I was grabbing and pushing her, and every time
I saw a window. I would block in the window
(15:32):
of where they popped out with Annie's body, Like, so,
let's learn apocalypse happened. I told you I would sacrifice you. Yeah,
that's that's exactly what.
Speaker 2 (15:43):
I told you. What I would do.
Speaker 1 (15:44):
I would trip you, I would move you, I would
physically put you in harms way.
Speaker 2 (15:49):
It was really funny, though I loved it.
Speaker 1 (15:51):
I was just like, you were so good because not
only did you find it funny, you found it like
I think you was like, yeah, okay, I'm going this way.
I'm like, I'm like, well, as the person who doesn't
like to make decisions, I was making decisions about how
you were moving through these areas. And because again we
(16:12):
got separated, they were coming out us every time, and
because my reaction and your reaction was so big, they
loved coming at us that many times. I was pissed
at this point.
Speaker 2 (16:22):
Yeah, I think it was the one I told you
wasn't scared.
Speaker 1 (16:25):
Yeah. So there was two that we didn't know what
it was and you thought it wasn't too bad. One
of them was the Unmasked, which was the fan of
the opera. It's not a big deal, and they were scariest,
Like what the Fanny that was scary. What the hell?
Because not only was it scary to me, they had
which I don't love anyway. Anything that is giant, Yeah,
(16:47):
giant replica of anything freaks me out, freaks me out.
So this is why I have a hard time with
rides that have giant like the Jurassic Park ride. I
won't do it, but it scares me so badly because
I'm like, this is gonna come off, fall off if
it hit us, or it's gonna come to life. Like
that's my biggestphere. I've seen way too many eighties horse
movies like this, which is also why I don't like
(17:08):
the Freddy's Did You Freddy's Fright Night, which is this
whole basis is like they come to life and kill you.
And I was like, yeah, that's my fear. But like
an unmasked which is supposed to be kind of like
a generic Fantom of the Opera as you had told me. Yeah,
and in Orlando, apparently it wasn't that scary. In California
(17:31):
it was. And this one dude saw my reaction because
and he had gotten too far ahead of me, so
therefore he popped out three different times. No, two different times,
and then once I really did try to reach me
and he came too close, and to the fact that
I did the mom no no no, no, no no
no finger at him, yes, and I know he had
to be like what the hell no no no, no, no, no, no,
(17:52):
no no.
Speaker 3 (17:54):
No.
Speaker 1 (17:54):
I was so mad and it was like you told
me it wasn't scary, and it ended up being one
of the scary are your ones? Especially because they were
on stilts. That was the other part that he was
on stilts. Yes, he was giant and looming over me,
came scared me twice and then reached for me, and
I was like hell, nah.
Speaker 2 (18:10):
Yeah, well and it's really it was really calm.
Speaker 3 (18:12):
It was scary, like, don't get me wrong, but it
was comical that he literally jumped out like three times
in the space of like ten seconds.
Speaker 1 (18:19):
Yes, it was very the other losing my mind, yes,
because he was looming at me and I was like no.
And then so at the end, not only did you
jump at me, he reached for me. I was like,
there was another one that did the same thing. And
then they reached for me and I was like why
it was the holidays in hell one?
Speaker 2 (18:38):
Oh, there was a holidays in Hell one there was
one where you like walked through. This was not in Orlando.
Speaker 3 (18:44):
He walked through and it was like a calendar of
holidays and they had all gone wrong, and that one
had a lot of odors.
Speaker 1 (18:51):
That one had like yeah, had smells, had a demon lebrecon. Look.
I guess I'm scared of the small things. I could
eat my legs. I don't know, because he wasn't that
small though. It's probably in my height, yeah, honestly. But
like because of the face makeup, which all the makeup
was stupendous, Like they did an amazing job, Like, and
(19:11):
he didn't just leak out. I think he ran across
the stage at one point and they're still all blocked
off so they don't cross you, but like the way
he ran, it felt like he could because of the angles.
And I was like, and he did it twice. Yeah,
and I didn't like it.
Speaker 2 (19:28):
No, you didn't know it was good.
Speaker 3 (19:32):
We also saw, like I know, I'm a terrible person,
but I always look up for fights at theme parks,
and we saw a duel.
Speaker 1 (19:40):
Yeah. They were all, oh, they're in the general admission line,
so that had to have been like because all the
weights were like one hundred and twenty minutes, and this
almost put the exercist, which is one hundred and fifty minutes. Yeah,
they were at the front and they got in the
fight and they left. I was like, oh, the coup sucks.
Speaker 3 (19:56):
And we were right next to them, and the guy
like she she was mad about something, turned away like
cross her arms, and he said to his friends like
you can have her, and they tried to stop him
from leaving, and he crossed right in front of us
and like ripped away and then ran off. And then
the the friends said to the woman, like, aren't you
(20:17):
gonna go after him? She paused a moment and then
went And I appreciate this. They stayed in the line.
Speaker 1 (20:24):
They were like no, no, no, yeah, because it was
so intense, Like at first we were like are they playing? Yeah.
We thought were like joking because like my partner and
I will be joking about things and like especially at
a hunt house, like it have like me and you.
I'm like, yeah, I'm sacrificing you. How dare you do
this to me? That type of thing, And it's a
joke obviously, But so we didn't know because at one
(20:44):
point she brings in her grandma. The conversation, I was like,
what the hell, Like they're bringing family trauma into this argument,
Like I don't know what's happening. And then like he's
like and I'm done, and they're intuscated, like because the
way he tries to go under the rope, the friend
grabs him. He goes backwards into the person in front
(21:05):
of us, who was like what is happening and like
he's like, let me go, and he's like, y'all can
y'all can handle her? Yeah, that's how he says. And
he walks off, and he was like, you're gonna let
him live? Leave like that, like trying to convince her,
to convince him to come back, because they were trying
to be like, look, we've been in this line forever.
Don't do this. Yeah, and like she loved and he
was like well yeah, and we were all like, why.
Speaker 2 (21:28):
Did she go?
Speaker 1 (21:29):
She told him to leave.
Speaker 3 (21:31):
I know, I think she should have should Maybe that's
why not good relationships.
Speaker 1 (21:37):
I mean, he's the one that chose. Why are you
chasing after him because you told him to go. At
one point he was like, I'm dude, she's like go yeah,
So I was like, hey, did that you You know y'all,
y'all are this is embarrassing for everybody. I will say
there wasn't too many children. There were a few children
there that I was surprised by. That was the one
with an infant. And when I say infant, I mean
(21:59):
maybe like it's a small baby to begin with, so
but like not more than two months if that, like
it was tiny, yelled, Oh, she's committed. She's committed to
being here because I couldn't imagine. I was afraid of
holding my cell phone in my hand because I thought
I would drop it from trying to run away. So
(22:21):
having a full fledged baby that was a that was interesting. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (22:27):
Yeah, also say we were very fortunate we get to
walk right on to stranger things. That was amazing. Is
that one? The wait is very long.
Speaker 3 (22:36):
But yeah, before we get into my last of US comparison,
I want to shout out my friend Katie, who made
all of these bracelets, because they have been trading bracelets.
Speaker 2 (22:48):
It turns out they're doing it more in.
Speaker 1 (22:51):
I think it's different nights too.
Speaker 3 (22:54):
Yeah, but we had a really really I think beautiful
interaction where you we had sat down at a table
and these other two women sat down next to us,
and you asked like, hey, would you want a bracelet?
And it turns out they were employees, and employees aren't
allowed to wear bracelets, but they were off they just
gotten off duty, and they were so happy about it.
(23:16):
They like picks the ones they wanted.
Speaker 1 (23:18):
I was like, yeah, I handed it to her.
Speaker 3 (23:20):
No, the I gave her the because we had like
Cara Beaner's full of bracelets and we were just walking
around with them.
Speaker 2 (23:27):
I actually felt very official and I liked it.
Speaker 3 (23:29):
Yeah, they were so happy, and one of them was like,
you've made my day and gave us a fast pass,
and it was just a nice little yeah.
Speaker 1 (23:38):
Because she has actually mentioned I've been I've been seeing
people do this. We can't accept them, which, by the way,
apparently a few people have though, like several old employees do.
But like she was like, but I've been wanting one
and i haven't been able to participate. I'm so excited.
And then we gave a couple of two other people
like we don't have any things to exchange, so they
knew what we were talking about, and we try to
(24:00):
hunt people down to give it to them, and they
just really like no one was doing it, and every
time we see somebody they would be in such a
scurry that I couldn't get to them. Yeah enough, or
they would be but like, yeah, there was not really
much trading. And because several of the bracelets, because ours
was definitely like the small beads, which Katie did a
beautiful job. I love them all, but like a lot
(24:22):
of people were wearing actual prayer beads or like meditations,
so we're like.
Speaker 2 (24:26):
Yes, I don't want to do that. Yeah yeah, then
the thing that oh we're just kidding. Yeah yeah.
Speaker 3 (24:35):
So it was definitely a bigger deal in Ourlando, but
it was fun and we got to we did. I
think about half of them are gone, mostly from you
because you were much better.
Speaker 2 (24:44):
At it than me I was.
Speaker 1 (24:44):
So I started hanging them out.
Speaker 2 (24:46):
You were just like taking them. I was like, whoa.
Speaker 1 (24:50):
You want?
Speaker 2 (24:50):
So that that was really fun.
Speaker 3 (24:53):
But yes, the last house we did was the last
of us, and uh, because I felt like we were
in a good place. The last house we did in
Orlando was also the last of us, but at that
point we had been out and it was hot and
we were tired. But this I felt good, went in
and they are very different. Uh this they both take
(25:15):
place in the same section of the game, but they're
not the same section. So the one in Orlando is
when you first get to Pittsburgh and it's a trap.
This one was like the sewer part when you're with Sam,
but it I mean it had a really cool had
Ellie telling puns number one, which she does not do
in Orlando.
Speaker 2 (25:36):
Oh no, I love puns.
Speaker 1 (25:37):
No, no puns.
Speaker 3 (25:39):
I mean in Orlando there's like two actors at the
beginning and then the rest is a projection behind a screen,
so you can't see them, but you can hear them.
They had a really cool bloater ripping somebody's face apart.
Speaker 2 (25:55):
Oh it was cool.
Speaker 1 (25:56):
They had two blowterers.
Speaker 2 (25:58):
They had two blowters, They had all the clickers that
popped up.
Speaker 3 (26:00):
I liked when Ellie was like in her yeah, she
said this is awkward because she's I read a review
somebody did a good review of like the differences between them,
and they were like the one in La feels like
you're in the game because you know, like there's a
lot more Ellie and Joel in her interaction.
Speaker 1 (26:20):
Right, so I think like three pairs if not, Yeah, yeah, and.
Speaker 2 (26:25):
The one in Orlando, like they had that really cool
spore effect.
Speaker 3 (26:30):
I would say that one's much more uh much less
you're in the game, but more haunted house, if that
makes sense.
Speaker 2 (26:38):
But I loved it, and I'm really glad that I
did it.
Speaker 3 (26:41):
I'm glad that I have such a good friend like
you who convinced me to do it and who came
with me.
Speaker 2 (26:47):
Even though it's not your.
Speaker 1 (26:48):
Face, y'all have been trying to pawn it off to
people and everybody easily, I'm coming.
Speaker 2 (27:06):
But I had a really good time.
Speaker 3 (27:08):
I had a really good time, and I just appreciate
you so much. So I want you to know I
saw what you did and I appreciated it.
Speaker 1 (27:17):
I will say I had fun. I did have fun.
I was very proud that I made it all the
way through. I sent my partner at text. I was like, Hey,
I did it, and he's like, I'm actually surprised because
I had honestly been prepared to be like I can't
take it. I'm gonna sit down, like, let her do
a couple on your own so that I didn't have
to experience. But like I'm like, all right, here we go.
(27:37):
Because we didn't think too much of it, and because
we went so fast, and I wonder if it had
to wait too long, if I changed my mind.
Speaker 3 (27:46):
Yeah, honestly, probably because I've done it, Like I said,
I did it with my friend Katie, or we were
there the whole night almost and we only got in three.
Speaker 2 (27:57):
And I think the three we got in were not
the big ones.
Speaker 3 (28:01):
And not that that like some of my favorite ones are,
like they're not big commercial ones, but uh, I do
think it's almost like when you wait for a roller
coaster and the anticipation builds and you get nervouser and nervouser.
Speaker 1 (28:15):
Yeah, I think that probably would have happened. But because
we were able to get through, like the scary Stranger
things literally we walked in, yeah, and we felt really
bad because even though that's what you paid for, the
line was so far back literally like where we entered,
where the beginning started, was where people were lined up too,
And the fact that we just kept walking and then
(28:36):
immediately walked in, we were like whoa what whoa? Yeah,
it was very surprising. Yeah, but like, yeah, I think
those scarier ones were the ones that you didn't know
us much about. Yeah, So maybe it's because you are
actually told me about it, but like the chiny one
was not scary at all, like to me. There again
people ran out again. It could have been the spacing,
(28:57):
so no one jumped out at me.
Speaker 2 (28:58):
Really uh.
Speaker 1 (28:59):
And then like, even though I'm very scared of dolls
like that, like the Chucky movies, I've never been a fan.
I'm not a big slasher fan anyway to that level.
So it was like, no, thank you, but like the
last of us. Yeah, I was so caught up and
like seeing the different things, and they did have the
actors who would come through, so I was trying to
make sure like you saw and like I wanted to
(29:19):
see and then and yeah, the actors were amazing. Yes,
And then we had the uh, the Exorcist, which I
know nothing really about, so because it's like they put
on scenes except for the scientists. Was that the one
with the scientists? Was that a scientist there was a
scientist in there as well? Yeah, yeah, I can't remember,
(29:42):
like because she made you made eye contact and he
just stared you down until finally until he finally jumped
out at you. And I thought that was hilarious because
I was like, I'm buying here, I'm good, Like I
was far enough away because I knew you were making
that happen.
Speaker 2 (29:56):
I was like, uh, you did get a good chuckle
out of that one.
Speaker 1 (30:00):
I enjoyed that one. I enjoyed that one. I enjoyed
the guy running out from behind the door because I
saw him do it. Yes, Like I saw him coming
out and coming at you, and I was like, oh, okay,
I think I yelled your name at one point though.
Speaker 2 (30:11):
Yeah, oh so I was like.
Speaker 1 (30:12):
Trying to get you to see them. But yeah, so
I enjoyed it. I did. Would I do that? I
think the other part to this is that they all
lasted five minutes. Yeah. Nice, So it had been a
continuation of like a thirty minute thing, I would have
been I would have been done, like I would have
tried to like I would have been crying at the end. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (30:31):
And we did take breaks, which was nice. Like I
think that's.
Speaker 3 (30:35):
One of the benefits having a smaller part because Orlando
was much more walking. But it was Yeah, we took breaks,
and it was really nice. It was nice that we
had the ability to do that. And I had a
great time. Ye had a great time. I love when
we did these videos before and after and later I
was like, maybe I should have done something different, But
(30:57):
my honest reaction was like I was just so happy.
Speaker 1 (30:59):
I was both times. Yeah, mine, I think was just
tired at the end because everybody I just said I'd
almost lost my voice screaming at people at the end.
From it went from my like higher pitched, louder scream too,
to know at.
Speaker 3 (31:14):
The end, yes, yes, And it's funny because I think
one of the longest lines I waited in was to
get this Cortousip's cord dog.
Speaker 2 (31:24):
Yes of everything.
Speaker 1 (31:26):
Yeah, I sat and waited because I was like, I'm
gonna eat these fries. We went to the Stellar Bar,
which is the Stranger Things Bar, and it was cute.
The drink was really fun, but I was like, I'm
a sit you do I mean for I was talking
to my partner on the bottles, like and he's going
against that cortys up dog. I don't know what's happening.
(31:47):
I got my chorros at the beginning.
Speaker 3 (31:50):
But yeah, it was so fun, And I know this
is coming out like the day for Halloween, so I
hope that you listeners listen to it h and enjoy. Marissa,
who has been giving me feedback or other recaps. I
hope that you enjoyed it.
Speaker 1 (32:04):
I was gonna say so because I asked you then,
which one did you prefer?
Speaker 3 (32:10):
Oh, I don't know if I could pay. I think
that the circumstances were better for this one. And I
was thinking about this because there is no park, there
is no hotel that I'm aware of that you could
just literally walk five minutes and get to it in Orlando.
Speaker 2 (32:30):
I could be totally wrong. I know Universal has the.
Speaker 3 (32:32):
Like boats you can take, so I think like the ability,
because that's the problem, Like once you get to the
end of the day, you're done and you want to
be home, and then in Orlando that often means twenty
to forty minute wait at the minimum to get to
(32:52):
a ride to get to home. So I think there
were things that made it much eas easier. And I
had just gone to Orlando, so I didn't feel the
same pressure I would normally feel to write every ride,
you know what I mean, because I had just ridden
all those rides, that's true.
Speaker 1 (33:09):
Yeah. And it was better weather.
Speaker 2 (33:12):
It was so much better weather.
Speaker 1 (33:14):
Nice and cool and breezy.
Speaker 2 (33:16):
Yeah, oh my god. And also the I would say,
the food options in uh LA were better, but I
don't I don't.
Speaker 3 (33:25):
Know that either one is. I think they have categories.
They both surpassed each other in most reviews I read
that compared them were like Orlando is the bigger, more
special effects, more haunted houses, Like it's the bigger one
in La has like it's smaller, but also it gets
more crowded more easily because it's smaller, So it's like
(33:49):
and they.
Speaker 1 (33:49):
Said that they had a ski zone at the entrance,
which was not nice.
Speaker 3 (33:53):
Yes for me, I tried to explain the scar zone
and then I was like, oh, no, we're in one yea.
Speaker 1 (33:59):
As we were walking, they all come screaming at you.
And by that point I was tired, but still like
scared of like no yes, and like I would literally
crunch into myself in like almost a walking fetal position,
but no yes.
Speaker 2 (34:15):
To the actor. Yeah that was yeah, scared of someone
at the entrance.
Speaker 3 (34:21):
I am sad we missed. I've never seen that opening ceremony.
I don't think which is what they call it.
Speaker 1 (34:27):
But yeah, I had in the Haunted House when that
was happening.
Speaker 2 (34:31):
Yeah, I think we were, I think so, but yeah,
I just I love you Samantha, I have you.
Speaker 1 (34:38):
Thanks for letting me literally take my anxiety out onto
you and be like, no, you can't do this by yourself.
Speaker 2 (34:44):
I'm coming, And then we got to I got to
be your shield.
Speaker 1 (34:50):
It was great. I have an apocalypse plan number two
and I don't know that yet.
Speaker 3 (34:57):
Well excellent. Yes, I had a great time. I'm still
kind of flying high from it, to be honest, yes,
