Speaker 1 (00:00):
On the Bell cast, the questions asked if movies have
women in them, are all their discussions just boyfriends and husbands,
or do they have individualism? The patriarchy? Zef invest start
changing it with the Beck del Cass attention back to
cast listeners, it's an emergency. Sorry, that made it sound dangerous.
(00:24):
That's dangerous. It's not dangerous, it's positive. How do you
do that? How do you make that alert positive? Circus? Yeah? Alright,
sound via Wilga because guess what, there's no episode this week,
but we have to tell you about some exciting things
(00:44):
we've got coming up for three while we take this
week of rest and relaxation and if you know me
and Caitlin Prayer, yeah, so much of that. We are
going on tour soon. You may already know this. We've
already plugged it many times, but we have shows on
(01:05):
the West coast of the US in late January early February,
starting with a show in Los Angeles at the Allegian
Theater on January. We are covering a goofy movie and
we can't we announce our guest, Danny Fernandez, friend of
the show. Many you know her. You lost huge a
(01:26):
Goofy Movie had made us promise that we would bring
her on for this episode literally years ago, and so
we're making good on that promise, live and in the flesh. Uh,
making it sound like a wrestling event because I share
something I tweeted earlier, just a couple of hours ago,
in the wee hours of the morning. Please, I said,
pretty wild that A Goofy movie opens with Max goof
(01:50):
having a wet dream. I don't think that's pretty wild.
I think that's pretty epic. Did rock? It's actually pretty cool? Yeah?
Why can't I've let me have a wet dream the
only time I've paid in my sleep? No, wait, that's
not what a wet dreams? All that does that I
(02:11):
have peed in my sleep. And I was sixteen, Okay,
too old, too old, I was. It wasn't because I
was horny, It's just because I was depressed. I was like,
why even go to a toilet? I got dumped by
a saxophone player and I pissed myself. I know, I
know that was feminist. Okay. And then we're going up
(02:31):
to San Francisco. Ever heard of him? Um, that's gonna
be on February first. We're to be covering San Francisco
classic George of the Jungle, and that's going to be
a part of San Francisco Sketch Fest. Tickets are going
pretty fast for that one. There's still tickets available, but
not a lot. And then where are we going, Caitlin,
(02:53):
tell me, Oh my gosh. Then we are moving our
way up to Portland, Oregon for two shows on your
second at Curious Comedy Theater. The first shows at seven
o'clock with Sarah Marshall. We're covering the Goonies and that
show is almost sold out at the time of this recording,
so act fast and then tell us about the second show, Jamie.
(03:17):
But we have another show that evening. I believe it's
at nine and it's with a mystery guest for a
mystery movie. However, you're going to really really love it.
And if you miss tickets to the Sarah show, you're
also going to love the second show, or go to both.
Follow your heart. It's gonna be different movies. So you
know Portland's you've got kind of a special little treat.
(03:38):
And then we're heading up to Seattle UM and that'll
be on February five. Yes, we are doing a show
at last comedy club in Seattle. Another show on the Goonies,
but we can't even really plug that because it's already
sold out. So but but question, if you're a Seattle listener,
if you're interested in a second show, please tweet at us.
(03:58):
We would like to know. And also so you know
we we we love to we love to do more show. Sorry,
I have COVID. We love to do more show. You're
doing great. Yeah, So if you missed an opportunity to
come to this show at it's what time, Caitlin seven o'clock, Yes,
(04:20):
thank you. Um, if you missed out on getting Tic
gets to that show and you're like, oh crap, I
would definitely go to another show in that kind of
time frame. Nine o'clock show. Yes, please let us know.
We're we're you know, we're available. We might add a
second show, but only if there's enough interest, So tweet
(04:42):
at us. D m us on Instagram. Internet. You know,
you know how the internet works. You're savvy, You're cool,
You're our listeners are very savvy and cool. We also
have some other stuff going on throughout the year that
we wanted to soft plug. I'm going from Seattle over
to Chicago. To do my one woman show, Mrs Joseph
(05:05):
Chestnut America USA. It's one of my solo shows. Thank
Caitlin gave me some great notes on the show that
changed it quite a bit. You're welcome, Yeah, thank you
so much. So that's a show that I do about
a fake marriage. I have to hot tag eating Champion
of the World Joey Chestnut, and it's a show. It's
(05:27):
kind of a drama, but it's also I also eat
twelve hot dogs during the show, um about how I
married Joey Chestnut and then he stole my intestines to
become a better champion eater. Anyways, tickets for that show
are going shockingly quite fast. That's going to be at
the Color Club in Chicago on February seventh, and I
would simply just love to see you there. And also
(05:50):
I have, unofficially I haven't told the venue this yet,
but I am going to invite um Chicagoans to debate
with me about catchup after the show because I feel
like we really have some he wing to do and
I will win the debate. I'm broketchup. It's it's uh,
wet scabs or dry scabs all over again. Exactly. It
really is has the same vibe where it's like, can't
(06:12):
we all just get along? But we can't. But I'm
right because the answer is wet scabs. No wait if
I dry scaps, dry scaps your wet scabs laser jet printer. Okay. Um, Well,
while you're in Chicago, Jamie, I am continuing my journey
(06:33):
up the West Coast and going to Vancouver, Canada. Ever
heard of it for the first time. I'm very excited
to see the sites and do some comedy shows. So
I'll be doing a couple of stand up shows and um,
you can check my website Caitlin Durante dot com for
more information about those shows. Please come and see me
(06:55):
do stand up. I would, I would, except I can't. Yeah. Well,
I am talking to you and to you alone, Jamie,
So sorry for a phone call we're having. Um No,
I'm I'm very excited to hear about Vancouver. And also
we have like we almost did a live show in
Vancouver but then honestly we couldn't figure it out and
our brains we're really served. They're really small. So so
(07:17):
if you live in Vancouver and you have recommendations for
cool venues, we will come there next time we do
a West Coast tour. But yeah, we just couldn't we
We could not manage we truly, we got lunch twice
about it, and we're just like, well, I guess we Canada.
We haven't cracked it. Someday, someday we'll figure it out. Well, wait,
there's more, Yes, there is. On April eight in Bloomington, Indiana,
(07:43):
we will be at the bus Kirk Chumley Theater for
five for fire Tower Podcast Festival. Okay, I love that
theater name. I'm so excited. I've never been to Bloomington.
I don't think rocks. I love blooming I drove cross
country to move to l A from the I know,
(08:04):
brag to move to l A from the East coast,
and I definitely stopped somewhere in Indiana for lunch, but
I simply don't remember which city. Um in Indianapolis, four, Wayne, Bloomington,
you name it, INDI go you Hoosiers exactly. Um. So yeah,
(08:25):
either way, I will be spending definitely time in Bloomington's
for this show on April eight. Um, we still have
some details to hammer out, but we're just putting that
on your radar. Listeners. Yeah, I'm very excited for that festival.
And then I have one more little plug if I may,
Oh my gosh, do it. My book Raw Dog, A
(08:49):
History of Hot Dogs is coming out in the spring,
which is wild. It feels like I've been waiting for
it to come out for nine hundred years. It comes
out of May three, two and twenty three, and I
will be going on a book tour to promote it
to a number of major American cities. They haven't told
me which ones, but I I can tell you that
(09:11):
it will at least be Boston, New York, Los Angeles, Chicago,
and I believe Seattle. But but if you are in
a city where you think that people would like to
go to a book event about hot dogs, um, I
would love to know about it because I want to
tell my publisher to send me places I want to.
(09:31):
I want to go everywhere. I would meet everybody. Um.
And I'm really excited to have the book out. So
we've got an exciting year coming ahead, is what we're saying.
Really do Yeah, So what you should do to access
all of these festivities is go to our link tree,
which is link tree slash spectel Cast. You get how

you can get our merge and by the way, Baby
March designs designed by Jamie, so check those out. We
(10:14):

Matreon there. We'll plug that in a second, but there's
also links to um Jamie. I put my website and
your website on our link tree so that people can
very easily access our personal sites since we are you know,
individual shows. Kalen. You're so good at maintaining your website.
(10:36):
Everyone that goes to my website is like, what year
is it? And just like I look, I'm just like, Hi,
my name is Jamie Loftus. I recently made something called
Lolita podcast. It doesn't reflect who I really am, but
that's okay. Recent is a relative term, so yeah. I mean,
(11:00):
if we're talking here to like the Ming Dynasty, I
guess it's pretty up to date, but like in terms
of what I'm currently doing, it there's very little insight.
But maybe I'll change that soon. For some reason, when
you said Ming Dynasty, I thought you were going to
say something about Minions the Minion dynasty, which was a
very evil rain. I'm sure we can all remember, Oh
(11:23):
my god, my mom made the weirdest Minions joke. Okay,
this is what I choose to go out on. My
mom made the weirdest Minions joke the other day because
she got I tweeted this a few days ago. But
I do think it's true that showing my mom the
rise of group this summer like literally changed the course
of her entire life. Because she's she's a second grade teacher.
She got so many Minions holiday gifts from her students,
(11:47):
a full size Nit Minions afghan it's huge, um, a
ton of Minions, chia pet like all this stuff. And
then yesterday her friend, her like teacher friends, sent her
a huge Bob the Minion as well as um some sausages,
and my mom kept like putting the sausages next to
(12:09):
Bob as if to say, look at Bob's hog. And
I was like, Mom, are you do you recognize what
you're doing? She's like Bob's Hog. Yeah, she's on break.
She's making Millions dick jokes. Basically, she's making Minions dick jokes.
And we don't need to be proud of her for that,
(12:32):
but you can be a chop. I was. I was, truly,
I was like, Wow, we've come to an age where
I am scandalized by her, and that's kind of beautiful.
I love that. I love that for you. I love
that for Jill, I love it for Bob. And it's
huge Hog and Bob. Oh my gosh, Bob's hogs Hog Look.
(12:57):
Oh okay, well, I think that's everything we wanted to plug.
So yeah, come to our shows. Let us know, uh
Seattle specifically, if there's interest in a in a second show, possibly,
um go to our link tree for all of the tickets,
go to our Matreon of course for bonus episodes. We've
(13:21):
got some fun stuff coming up, including the Pinocchio Wars
that everyone is so excited for and everyone once and
they all asked for it. People were frothing for it.
It was it was scary, and we're like, okay, fine,
we'll cover both new Pinocchios. Fine, fine, we'll do it. Okay,
and uh yeah, so we will see you in the
(13:45):
new year. Kiss Kiss by
