Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hello the Internet, and welcome to this episode of Pirates
of the Caribbean. Three at World's trend I don't care
September eight, I love you, don't give a ship September eight.
Never forget uh joke we uh stole from Zach last
week and uh yeah still using also September nine, nine nine,
(00:27):
never forget the Dreamcast launch. And for all the game
gods out there, we remember. Yeah, yeah, I didn't get one,
so fun Greencast. I'm Jack O'Brien. That's Miles Gray. This
is what is trending. Miles. Welcome back, by the way,
this is good. Thank you, thank you, thank you for
having me back. I know I had to beg and
(00:47):
plead because I wronged you. Yeah I was. I think
I think we all made the right decision. Any good
fan fit about our conflict that you read while you
were away, Just the ones I was writing and seeding
is anonymous posts in the subreddit. But yeah, pretty cool.
Um all right, so Odell Beckham Jr. Is trending across
(01:08):
the Internet Google great receiver, yep. Uh. Some of the
best highlight worthy catches in the history of football. Just
one hand in those kickoffs out of the air. Um,
and what what Why is he trending? Why are you
making me that he's trending? Everyone goes, oh, what the
(01:33):
fund is Odell Beckham Jr. Trending for like number two
on Google? Like what is going on? Apparently, uh, somebody
was on a podcast called the Thoughts next Door Podcast,
uh and in which uh, this woman's alleges that he
seems to have a proclivity for scatological uh sex stuff
(01:56):
like he specifically she said he likes to get shipped
on uh and then was saying all this other stuff.
So I don't know. He responded with a picture of
him in practice, and he's like it was something kind
of like acknowledging. It was like, nobody can mess up
my pivot, no matter what ship has thrown my way.
And it's kind of like, oh funny, I don't know
whatever I mean, this is definitely of the reasons that
(02:19):
somebody can be trending. Um. I am fully on board
with this as long as you know, uh, more power
and you can't get sick, let us know, you know, yeah,
I don't. I actually don't ingested what if it's uh,
what if it's your own you can't get sick? Then
right to the summersault. What there's the similar rumors about
(02:46):
other celebrities. I was I was totally happy to see
this is why he was trending, because yeah, a lot
of people like, is this real? Is this some cloud
chaser stuff? Or you just say something really and since
airy and like salacious just to get some bump in
the in the metrics, which they clearly have done. Uh
(03:07):
so cool it Still this isn't as weird as to
me as on was that Beauty and the Beast that
one podcast, the dude was talking about how he shi
in his hand and then and then put it in
the toilet, and that, to me is was the most
alarming poop based twitter to trend I think I have seen. Right, well,
that was that was incredible. We talked, we covered that
(03:27):
on an old episode of Zeitgeist, but it was basically
he what what was his what? He was like, why
why do people talk about it like splashing? And they
were like, do you guys just poop directly into the water?
That's weird? And then everybody I think that was virus,
Like I think they were just next level playing four
(03:49):
D chess because that you really, yeah, you really got
the sense that he was Uh he thought you had
to poop into your hand before. Yeah, well you put
it paper towel like a hand nest and then you
drop it in. And I just love the woman's brou
handbro neither or not. For that alone, I will salute them. Yeah, yeah,
(04:13):
shout out Toby Jack. Trump voters are trending voters Trump boaters.
I'm sorry. There there's both boat parties again. Yeah, there
are both parties. Over the weekend, and once again this
seems to be a trend. Boats were sunk, multiple boats
this time sank in rivers and lakes. And I guess
(04:37):
what happens is, um, too many boats in the same location.
Too much weakes much like uh, they're fearless leader himself
to making a lot of wakes, and it causes people
who aren't experienced voters to not know what to do
(04:59):
or you know, I guess it might not be their fault.
It might be the people who are creating the wakes
that are Um. Yeah, I wonder if there are people
who are like veteran voters who are like, all right,
I'll put a Trump flag up and they think I'm
like part of this thing. I'm just going to create
and just an uncontrolled wake me and five other guys.
But I don't I don't know the first thing about voting.
But the photos like we're just I the only thing
(05:22):
I had known was just that one photo of that family,
like just surrounded by waves and they're like all the
Trump regalia, Trump flag, like get up out of the water.
That was the only thing I saw, And I was like, oh,
I don't I don't really need to know much more
about that. I think that says at all. Sometimes reality
invents or draws political cartoons to step back and applaud um. Yeah,
(05:49):
So I don't know. The the whole Trump voters thing
is kind of strange that like that has been the
way that people have decided to express there support for
him this time around. But I think because they saw
like it's like if it's people in the streets, they
clearly haven't been able to organize that kind of movement.
(06:13):
So it's always like hey, let's drive from Semi Valley
to l A and like drive through the streets like
we're from this part of town, or or it's easy
to be like hey, everyone's on their boats anyway. What
if you just and do that and you look like
a massively organized thing. Not to say that these people
aren't organized and energetic, but it is just I think
(06:34):
it's just seems like easier. They're like the ven diagram.
There's a good overlap between the boat people and the
Trump supporters. So I will say that there is one
very significant and important way they're not well organized. That is,
uh in not being prepared to not sink each other's
But well, it's very Look, we've one thing we've realized
is that these people do will do anything in pursuit
(06:56):
of maintaining the status quo of you know, racism and
like white premises. So yeah, why would you think you're like, no, man,
We're gonna show him with boats that how serious we
are about racism. Nothing says that you're a relatable man
of the people, person of the people more than being
on a boat hell yeah yeah, or a motoryot yeah,
(07:17):
mot um. Travis Scott is trending a relatable man of
the people. He has a new McDonald's uh promotion. I
guess it's it's interesting. I don't think we've seen this
quite before where a celebrity, uh this kids, Travis Scott
(07:37):
has just told us what he what his favorite meal
is at McDonald's and you can now order it. Yeah
cool for six. Apparently this is all part of a
thing McDonald's is doing, as they say, they're trying to
boost their leeway with millennial and gen Z consumers. So
I think there's nothing better than being like, hey, I'm
(07:58):
Travis Scott, get this quarter pounder. Okay, cool, I will
get that now because Travis Scott is our thought leader. Also,
that Tenant trailer with his track on it is trash.
I'm sorry, I can't. They've that completely fucked up the
final Tenant trailer. Like there's a version that has the
Travis Scott track playing over at versus. It's a new track.
(08:20):
I think he made, you know, like they're going to
old school or like they have like a featured track
by like the the biggest artist of the day making
a track to the Tenant and they credit to his
team because they basically said, for this final trailer, you
will cut it to this song and everyone will know
that I have better representation than Warner Brothers does to
push back on something like this, But the meal is not.
(08:44):
I don't like. I think initially you were like, oh,
what toy do you get, and I was like, Jack,
this is just it's basically Travis Scott's order. Like, if
you want the cactus Jack meal, it's it's just a
six dollar quarter pounder meal with bacon, lettuce, barbecue, sauce,
fries in a sprite. Well sure McDonald's employees come with barbecue, yes,
(09:05):
but that's important. One cool thing is the employees will
get Travis Scott Cactus Jack t shirts and hats, which
I can already see that probably selling for a lot
on stock. X Miles does a point at the sky
every time I have to. It just feels good when
you have to hit him with the Travis You know,
(09:25):
you gotta just put your finger there. Um was the celebrity,
you would have bought their McDonald's meal, Like if okay,
so let's put yourself in the mindset of how old
these people are, so like if you're sixteen to thirty,
who is the meal? We have to go back, you know,
into the late nineties early it's like, who what are we?
(09:47):
Who is that? Like? Sadly, I probably would have bought
like a jay Z like black album, I think forever,
like when that album came out, I would have probably like, yeah,
I would have that, like, especially if each member had
their own unique meal. Like you know what has been
amazing is with like the mic Ribb came Back and
(10:09):
the gravel Pit video because it was like flint Stone
ship and they're like eating big gas like ship. Oh shit, Okay,
yeah yeah, wood Tang would have done it for me.
In terms of a musician, Jay Z probably uh most
deaf wouldn't have done it at the time because he
was too underground, but I would have got the most
(10:30):
deaf meal. Uh cool, But I guess that's uh. They said,
it's like he's the second celebrity to have their uh
like celebrity combo and McDonald's, So I don't know if
the first person was so unfortunately, sorry about that, whish.
I wish I'd done some more research all but I
don't know. Uh. Well, Peloton is also trending um because
(10:54):
they are releasing a new treadmill. Is that right? New treadmills?
Seen this? You heard about this new bike? Yeah, I
could like I run on the treadmill every once in
a while, breg uh, So I could see myself getting
into this, Like I'm not a big sitting on a
bike pedaling away just feeling one like part of my
(11:16):
leg burn really bad type of exerciser, So I could
I can see somebody yelling at me while I run. Yeah,
I mean they're trying to make it more I guess cost.
So essentially the treadmill becomes cheaper than the one they have,
and then they've also offered a more expensive bike. So
that means that's actually what I was looking for. Yeah,
(11:38):
so now the original bike just is called bike and
has a lower price tag of and then the new
one iss and so is the treadmill um, and it
has like, you know, a big gas screen or whatever. Cool.
I don't know if I would run better with a
like someone motivating me on the treadmill versus like just
listening to ship as I run, like in my ears.
(12:01):
I don't know. I'm not a tread guy, so I
wouldn't know. Oh, quick, fact check, you know who the
other person was the first celebrity to get them a
McDonald's meal. Um. I was just about to say, uh,
the gymnast from the eighties is that? No, I think
think of quite literally, Like the answer to the question
(12:24):
I had posed of who would who was somebody that
we probably would have bought like, yeah, it's Michael Jordan's
the m Jordan's Special, which was looked like a regular
cheese burger or yeah, quarter pound pure beef cheese, smoke, bacon,
barbecue sauce with onions, mustard, and pickles. That's almost like
Travis Scott's who you know, who thought? Who thought? I
(12:47):
mean they also, you know, they collaborate frequently on their sneakers,
so it makes sense, you know. Yeah, that was a
good collabo action. Yeah. Um, all right, well Miles, it's
been great having you back, a great to be great. Yeah, Yeah,
that's gonna do it for this afternoon. We'll be back
tomorrow with the whole last episode of our show. Until then,
(13:09):
be kind to each other, be kind to yourselves, wash
your hands wearing masks fans, don't do nothing about white supremacy.
And we'll be back tomorrow and talk to you all.
