Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hello the Internet, and welcome to this episode of Betty Zite.
Uh National Treasure, Betty Zite. I'm Jack O'Brien. That's Miles great.
This is what is trending. The last recording of the week.
What a week it's been a miles I got I

(00:21):
got no hair that all fell out. It's all white. Uh,
I don't even know. I lost seventy pounds on the
skeletactly like Christopher Lloyd and Backs the Future Right now,
I look like Christopher Lloyd and Roger Rap Yeah, combo
right in between. Um, all right, let's uh this this

(00:44):
thing is ending just about where you would expect it to.
Both the weekend air Democracy Amendment is trending. Amendment, of course,
is the one where the president's cabinet can basically issue
a vote of no confidence in him that would remove

(01:04):
his power. Give it to Pence, I guess temporarily. So, Uh,
this is trending because uh Nancy pelos As, as The
New York Post called her, Ku ku, it's about c
U P c o U P. Because they want to forward,

(01:29):
they want to ramp things up. Followers are just going
to read that is what the fuck is Coop Coop
uh huh, most most I do. I mean I would
probably too, to be honest, but uh, the Pelos was
putting out there the amendment is she I think she's
actually putting together a group to look into this commission. Yes,

(01:54):
a commission. I don't know what it's gonna do. It's
like one of those things. I'm like, yeah, I get it. Uh,
basically some of his more erratic behavior. Yeah, and I understand,
like what the point of it is. Uh, it's just
like one of those things, like I feel it's pretty
apparent at this point, and like, I don't know who,

(02:16):
you know, we gotta we gotta try it all. We
just try it all, right, you know. At a certain point,
I'm like, man, people seem to not like Nancy Pelosi
in the in the public, and this is like making
it a Nancy Pelosi versus Trump thing. But I've like
kind of left that whole like political calculation thing behind

(02:40):
and now I'm just like, do whatever, do whatever, Just
like this dude is really unraveling before our eyes and
has access to the to the biggest arsenal of nuclear
weapons in the world, could end the world at a
moment's notice. Yeah, it wouldn't that be wild though, Like
we're going to about our day to day while this

(03:01):
dude is just like rage launching nuclear weapons, and like
we look up in the sky were like, oh he
did it. Oh right, there is a you know, the
Nixon administration, there were times towards the end of his
administration where he was just wasted in the White House

(03:23):
and talking about how easy it would be for him to, uh,
just start launching nuclear weapons, and he was obsessed with
the idea of dropping a nuclear weapon on Vietnam to
end the Vietnam War, and people were just like, man,
this guy is not in great shape. But he still
had people like Kissinger, who not not a great human

(03:48):
but definitely a competent war criminal around him, whereas like
Trump has you know, spent his entire administration just weeding
out anybody who will push back. So I feel like
we're in a uniquely dangerous situation right now. Madrid is

(04:08):
trending because they are issuing a state of emergency or
declaring a state of emergency, I guess because they've just
gotten so bad yeah over there. And I mean that
kind of ties into the next thing, which is the
World Health Organization saying that we're we're peeking not in

(04:31):
a good way. Uh, we're I think peak number of
new cases or a number of cases of COVID nineteen.
Uh today it was three cases. You know, if only
there was a thing that could help guide us through
something like this, some discipline or study where people have

(04:54):
put in thousands of years of collective research to try
and guide us, like scientific method or whatever. Yeah, is
that it's called I don't know what I mean the horse.
I hated that class anyway. We had to write on
graph paper like why the science class funk out of here? Yeah,
I don't know what what are we gonna do? It's
I've truly like when I see these things happening, Like

(05:17):
you get those stories like New Zealand, We're like, yes, right,
they believe. And then other places, namely the United States,
were like everyone just completely at odds with like their
greed or like leadership is completely at odds with their
greed and trying to reconcile like the cost of human
life with profit. And I don't know, and we're we
have way too much power to be to be in
this position to even meddle with just like this. Right. Um, Also,

(05:42):
I guess it would be good to have some non
Trump news. There's a Mel Gibson movie coming out where
the U. S. Military recruits a down on his lux
Santa Claus. Um, so that's that's a thing, like anything
about it, down on his luck Santa Claus. Yeah, I
mean using his mystical powers too for violence. That seems

(06:05):
like very dark, um, very gibson Ian ideal. Uh So,
I don't know how to feel about that, but uh,
it definitely makes me feel something, will make me feel
something when it comes out, So I'm intrigued. Uh. And finally,
the President did go on Rush Lambaugh's radio show to

(06:31):
just kind of ramble for a little while. Um. Yeah,
he was saying he's cured. Quite literally said that on
a microphone out loud to people who are listening in
the country. M hmm. Yeah. He said, I'm telling you
we have a cure. More than just therapeutic, we have
a cure. Uh. And he just said I was not
in great shape, but we have a medicine that healed me,

(06:53):
that fixed me. It was great medicine. I recovered immediately. Uh.
And he said he's not taking anything. He said, I'm
off any regiment that they gave me. So that's that's
a new development. Um, but I guess you know, you
say what you got to when you need to look
as strong as possible even though all the evidence seems
to suggest you are still unwell. Right. Hell yeah, Well

(07:17):
it's great to hear that he's doing well. Uh. Sounds
like we've turned a corner in the battle against coronavirus
and we're well on our way. So I have a
great weekend everyone. Um he's Uh. I think there's gonna
be an appearance on Fox News on Tucker Carlson tonight
where he gets like a physical in front of the
nation on live TV. Uh is how it's being built.

(07:41):
I doubt it will actually be that. It will probably
be like an animatronic Donald Trump or I don't know,
but I will be watching that. Uh. There's possibly a
White House rally happening. Um, so just another super spreader event.
Just live, live and living on the edge. Um and yeah,

(08:04):
who knows what's gonna happen. Hopefully we all will still
be here on Monday. Uh yeah yeah until then, Uh,
that's gonna do it for us. Be kind to yourselves,
be kind to each other, wear a mask, wash your hands,
stay inside and don't do nothing about white supremacy. We

(08:28):
will be back on Monday with the whole last episode,
and we will talk to you all then by
