Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hello the Internet, and welcome to season ninety one, episode
one of Joe Days Eight Guys, a production of High
Heart Radio. This is the podcast where we take a
deep dive into America's share consciousness and say, officially off
the top, Hey, fuck coke industry and fuck news. It's Monday,
July fifteen two. My name's Jack O'Brien. A K. I

(00:21):

never gonna keep me down. I get knocked down, but
I'm a Sixers fan and you're and they're gonna take
the fucking crown. Uh. Fucked it up at the end there,
but it was a good effort at rich rain ramy uh.
And I'm through to be joined as always by my

(00:41):
co host Mr Miles. No song today, going with straight
anagrams from assaults Hannah Miles of Gray a k A
smile your frog, a k A my ogre fails a
k A forge, my sale a k A sir, glam
of you, sir, glam of not yeat but ye or yeah,

(01:02):
but I want to just say heat, I love it, Yeah,
thank you, and see I added the O F of
Miles of Gray makes many more competitions. Oh nine name. Yeah, Well,
we are thrilled to be joined in our third seat
by the hilarious and talent to Danielle Radford. What's up,
Welcome back, Danielle. Hey, good to see you. There's a dog.

(01:23):
I'm happy. Yeah, there's a dog. A dog rink, all
time dogs, all dogs. Actually no, let's not go there.
Oh fluffy attentive. Yeah, it's pretty cute. Yeah, there's been
some drama this week. As I rolled over his tail,
not not the bony part, just the fur. But then

(01:47):
he jumped up and fur was left behind. It was Yeah,
he's good, We're we're we're on better terms now. He's
very like trusting because he will put his little puppy
head underneath the wheels of your office share and like
to the point where before I even move, I'm like
always scanning around me. I'm like, I don't want to
crush ace about adorable dogs that get underfoot and consta

(02:11):
oh see, I gotta watch out for him dogs man,
keep your eye out. All right, daniel we're gonna get
to know you a little bit better in a moment. First,
we're gonna take our listeners through a few of the
things we're talking about today. We're gonna talk about Nancy
Pelosi and the ongoing feud with the Freshman Congress people,

(02:32):
Congress women, the squad. We're gonna talk about Alexander Aucasta
Acosta resigning. Uh and uh you see Alexandria Acosta, Alexander
Oh is that his name? Yeah? Yeah, yeah, Costa Cortez. Yeah.
I noticed by the way a Drudge Reports started to

(02:52):
refer to aoc As Cortes, which I think is like,
you know, their way of trying to be disrespectful anyways
us to resign. We're gonna talk about that. We're gonna
talk about the fact that uh, Nike is living their
best life out here despite the conservative outrage. We're gonna
talk about some disturbing shit about ice. We're gonna talk

(03:12):
about the storming of Area fifty one, little Wayne almost
quitting the Blink one eight two tour at the end
of last week. And those are a lot of words,
and I know what they all are separately, but together
I know it sounds like we are in an alternate
I mean, that is kind of his point. To be
fair to Lil Wayne, He's like, this isn't really my thing,

(03:33):
Like what am I doing here? Essentially? Yeah, we'll talk
about that and then we're gonna have a nice rousing
session of what we're fucking which. But first, Daniel, we
like to ask our guests, what is something from your
search history that's revealing about who you are? Oh? Geez um?
So I actually um I tweeted this a while ago.

(03:56):
There was a day where I was trying to look
up how to work when you have a bad back,
because I would like to learn, but my back is,
you know, it's it's all like flimsy sticks and marshmallow
don't get hit by a bus. And so I was like,
had to work with a bad back? Can you work
with a bad back? Will a bad back hurt you?
And then I because I'm also playing star Do and

(04:18):
so then my other search was why is my star
Do Valley wife mad at me? Serious? Star Do Valley is?
Did you ever play Harvest Moon? Harvest Moon was the
game that Farm Dale or farm whatever farm Ville ripped off,
but Harvest Moon was way better and then it started
getting bad and it's later um incarnations and so just

(04:40):
this like random Indie Studio made a game that was
basically Harvest Moon but really really good and combine some
elements of animal crossing and so you can get married.
There are several single people you can marry any gender. Um.
I married a lovely lady. We adopted two kids. They
are brown. It is cute. Where's this? Where's your spouse?

(05:01):
At my spouse? Is this a computer? A computer spouse? Okay?
I was hopefully like, maybe no, no, I think that
that would weird. My boyfriend Derek would not think that
that's really weird, although he does occasionally just be like, hey,
me and my star doing value wife adopted a dinosaur,
and he'll be like, I don't know what I'm saying.

(05:24):
Are you cheating on me? Is that? Wait? And you
said you had to google why your wife left you.
She was mad at me because I guess I'm supposed
to give her a gift every day make her happy,
and I don't know, a gift every day seems like
too much and that seems almost sexist. And jabitch only
likes diamonds like she like well, she likes diamonds. She

(05:45):
likes strawberries, which are very hard to get in game,
and she likes batteries, which you can only get by
making lightning. Ya is that. When will it be enough? Ladies?
Is that vibrator related the batteries thing? Maybe she does
build robots. That's why I married her because she's in
stem Yeah, that's dope. Did you go through a did

(06:07):
you like feel go through a field of possible spouses? Oh? Yeah,
and you're like, no, this person is a little too
blue collar for me. Yeah, there's like super hippie. There's
um one dude who's like dealing with PTSD from about childhood.
There's another dude who's like a whack drunk, real in
the field. Yeah, it's real on these fields and star
Do Valley? Where is that a fictional location? Is it

(06:30):
to take place on Earth? It is on Earth's but
it is a fictional place, all right? Um? What is
something you think is overrated? Oh? Something that I think
is overrated is y'all got to stop talking about new
ship killing your childhood's. I get it. We all hate remakes,
we all hate reboots. I understand, and we all know

(06:52):
the studio is doing because that's the stuff that people
are going to see. But the discourse around this new
Lion King is like, that's cool, you don't like it,
that's great, But so many people are like, mad, you
don't have to go see it, my dudes. And the
other one is just sitting there right there waiting for
you to love its case the ships, you're um, so

(07:14):
that's to me, that's overrated. Where it's it's okay to
be like, I don't like this and here's why it
doesn't work and blah blah blah. Most people have not
seen the movie yet, and you would think that that movie, like,
that's not what ruined your childhood. Your fucking dad abandoning
your mom is what ruined your childhood. Um, like leave

(07:34):
the Lion came out of this. It's a bunch of people.
You either like it or you didn't, and that's fine.
But people get so angry over this ship. People are
angry about Musho not being in Milan and obviously Black
Aerial or whatever, and it's they're just movies, my dudes,
Literally just movies. And this is coming from somebody who
is a film critic. Yeah yeah, so you care about movies,

(07:59):
but I've brand is to critique this ship. Literally, so like, hi,
but this is a bad version. This is a bad critique.
Find a new find a new angle, guys. Yeah, just
literally anything a couple of people were kind of I
don't remember what it was. I saw like one tweet
that was like, um, someone, okay, this is immediately funny.
Tweeted that Godfather gift. That's like, what have they done

(08:21):
with my boy? Think? Okay, like that's funny at least
be funny. But people are just Legitimately my mentions were garbage.
When I showed that, I went to it. And it's
not that I like it because I like the Lion King.
If you like the Lion King, you will like this.
It's national geographic e. The moles are kind of weird.
These are all things that I talked about. But just
why are you angry? Go run like I never want

(08:43):
to be one of those like go outside people, but
also just in general to be so angry, just energetically,
it's a waste of your time. It's a waste of
your energy. If you like, if you have the bandwidth
to go, you know what, I'm gonna take the time
to focus all my energy to be negative about something.
It's gonna poison your whole your your energy. Is it
true that the mouths are done like those old cone

(09:05):
and bits where it's just a photograph of the line
and then a human where the mouth is man, I
wish it was the problem with the mouths um legit.
This is a real critique, is that they make the
mouths move the way that the animal's mouth would move,
but it's still making human noises in the way that
a human mouth works. And so sometimes you're watching it
and it's like, zazue, that's a really funny thing you

(09:27):
just said, but like you can't the tongue is not
hitting the teeth on that, so I don't know that
you could say that one. Then it's just doing like
animatronic mouth. It's like, yeah, yeah, I feel like with
Jungle Book, uh it was, I don't know. I I
got tired of it after a while. I was just like, yeah,
this is not as interesting. I think. I think it

(09:49):
was like a neat trick that they pulled with Jungle Book.
But now it's just like, I don't know how sustainable
it is, and yeah, it's it's hard for you to
like emote or again get the yeah I'm helping. With
Little Mermaid, they go a little closer to like Aquaman
where it was under the sea, but it was still
it felt magical and it didn't feel because if not,

(10:11):
it's just gonna feel like a bunch of billy bass
fishes singing and that might be a little awkward, like
just happening. Flounder, that's what's flounder gonna be? Like, it's
going to be Jacob Tremblay. Yeah, is it just like
a yeah, nice, a realistic crab like as Sebastian, like

(10:36):
talking rock. Yeah, let them be a little exaggerated. Yeah, yeah,
you have mermaids. Mermaids, aren't I think in that one?
If straight up eels are like, yeah, man, we get
the funk out of here, I was like, no, dude,
I don't know. Eels are pretty scary looking in reality,
but tortoony well something you should look at. And I've
been obsessed with this since I first found out about

(10:57):
it a couple of days ago. If you can find
clips of the Broadway Little Mermaid Show, the way they
did that was they put everyone on Healy's. Yeah, so
like at some points they'll be like dancing and then
all of a sudden, I'll just start going because they're
all on fucking Helis. It's amazing. And did this show
predate Heale's, Like, did they create Heally technology or they

(11:18):
were using Heale's in the show. I imagine they went
and bought a bunch of Healees. But if I found
out that this was the genesis of Heale's, that would
make me I would love that. Excuse me, Heale's founder,
get the idea? Um, wouldn't happened to be the Little
Mermaid on Broadway? Starts shaking? The eels are like their hands,

(11:39):
so they used the arms as the eels. Just see
like the face movement. No, it looks weird. It looks
like someone's sleeves are talking. Because the way you're doing
arms right now, I'm like, okay, show. Oh I want
to see it so bad because there's a part of
me that as a film critic who knows what good
movies are, and then there's a part of me as
a Daniel Radford who loves bad movies. I want to

(12:00):
see this bad tea. Yeah, but you think they're probably
going to go for the eels with the human arms
moving turtle neck the hand. What is something you think
is underrated? Ah? So many things. Um empathy, paying your

(12:20):
freelancers on time. That's truly fucking underrated. Um Oh, you're
gonna net. You don't want to tell me that you
are at NET ninety when I submit No, no, no, no, no,
I've read my contract. My dude, my sweet bitch, you
don't get to suddenly tell me that you are that
I'm on a NET ninety. Yeah, it's awful. Um what

(12:42):
else is underrated? Um? I mean those are those are
the things I just do want to I just do
want to shout you out because you brought a nice
squirt into the building and I was like, we have
a we have a reprigerator that is full of so
much soda that it's become a problem, like we can't
fit anything else in there. And you are that brought

(13:06):
their own soda. You are a connoisseur. She knew what
she's getting squirting. I told you it's refreshing. It's great,
fruity squirt water that pample Moose could run. That's all
I'm saying. One squirt walked so pample Moose could run.
Thank you. And what is a myth? What something people

(13:29):
think it is true? You know to be false. Oh so,
going back to my original thing, there are some people
that are genuinely angry at things and genuinely mad and
that's exhausting. But we've also got to really pay attention
to which one of these fake accounts, which are people
who are doing it on purpose to get us all
to yell at each other. We got to do a
better job of pain. Yeah, because with the aerial thing,

(13:53):
there were at least two accounts that everybody I saw, everybody,
every big blue check, all of my friends, everyone is
yelling at this person when they had the man hands
holding the video and the picture. Yep, that was one.
There was another one of people just you know, taking
photos offline. And you know, we all know about the
bots and the other people who pretend to be black,
and we know it because they don't use a v well,

(14:17):
they don't understand that it is an actual language and
that it is like it has linguistic property. Is to
follow a set of rules, which I was like osby
downs the street. Just watch Fat Albert. I watched an
old Fat Albert cartoon. I know how they talk as
black and as is a black is. It's like you
got like that old dude who like probably self vandalized

(14:40):
his property. Oh I didn't see there. It was the
same same neighborhood rule. Blacks rule is the one that
I've seen. I didn't. I just saw the one which
I thought was like a hilarious bit that where they
just wrote crips and like flowery cursive, like what neighborhood though, okay,
and then it's just blacks sentences the black people like

(15:05):
to that area thing. There was that account that everyone
was like, this girl, she's saying like it ruined my childhood.
The photos none of them match. She's like, I'm throwing
away the video. It was like a grown man's hand
she took that was or whoever this person was took
from that another photo from Instagram just created this dumb
backstory that And if you even just look at the

(15:26):
timelines and some of these accounts, they're never consistent. They're
all over the place, and like sometimes they just they
they fan both sides, yeah, because what they're doing is
typically because they know that we're looking for something. It's like, oh,
you started your account yesterday. These whoever the trolls or
whatever whatever these people who are doing this are they
have been doing the long game. So these are accounts

(15:46):
that have been around since you know. These are the
same accounts where if you remember that hashtag, your slip
is showing where there was a bunch of accounts of
black women that were I've what was it they were
trying to do, like hashtag cancel Father's Day because father
suck and it's only about mothers. And it turned out
it was a bunch of four chantrols like these and so,

(16:09):
and the smart ones delete old tweets. The other ones
don't because they know you're not going to go back
that far. So we're just interacting with the tweets. Yeah,
So we just got to be a lot more careful
about spending our Internet energy and points on these fake accounts,
like oh, zero followers, following people even have the counsels,
but you only have two tweets, Yeah, but you keep

(16:30):
deleting them every time I see you go back to brace.
We're talking about this last week with regards to the
Jason Momoa dad bod thing. Where we where did that happen?
Who was saying that? Everyone's like people are saying that.
Where I was looking for where we were trying to
figure that out and could not find the original person
being like, look at this, fatty, I'm gonna be a
dad because of that photo exactly. Sign me up, all right,

(16:53):
let's get into something we wanted to cover off the top. Uh.
One of our former guests, usef Roach, has been accused
of abuse and manipulation and just all around horrible behavior.
So yeah, we wanted to take a minute here to
address the situation. Yeah, I, UM, it's been kind of uh,

(17:19):
it's been difficult to try and kind of talk about
this for a few different reasons. One, I definitely found
myself and I think others in this office this room
personally manipulated by his behavior, um, and were made to
believe that there were um, that there was something very
troubling going on with him. Uh, and it turns out

(17:41):
that that might not have been the case. So yeah,
I think you know, a few of us in this room,
I've definitely found ourselves manipulated by his behavior. And it
was very sort of tough to deal with because, on
one hand, you know, just I think, off the top,
I think it's very clear to say that as a
show and as people, we believe the women uh and
these allegations that they've come forward with. UM. We you

(18:03):
can absolutely count on the fact that he will no
longer be on this show. UM. And we've and we
removed the episodes he was on last week, because it's
not appropriated in US for in any way to monetize
those appearances. Um, and just we're not we don't we're
not interested in platforming anyone who's has any kind of
abuse of agenda. Um. But yeah, I think one of
the things that was really difficult to grapple with personally

(18:24):
was the amount of concern that I had at the
beginning and how that that soured very quickly and the
knock the thing that, aside from the people that he
has harmed personally, I'm also it's it saddens me to
see how many people were taking advantage of by the
language he was using on Twitter, and that that could

(18:46):
even potentially dissuade someone from taking someone seriously who is,
you know, threatening self harm or something or uh has
these cries for help that we're seemingly cries for help. Um. Yeah,
And I think the only way to do it is
just to continue to take them all seriously. And you know,
when somebody is threatening self harm, you know, just do

(19:09):
your best to be there for them. And in this case,
it was just a you know, we were being misled,
but that's going to happen and you just have to
kind of push forward and continue to be empathetic. But yeah,
it's really brutal. Uh, And I just feel and I
think everybody here feels horrible for the victims. And you know,

(19:35):
we we don't want to be a part of anything
that legitimizes or furthers, you know, how how they felt
abused by him so or how they were abused by him.
So yeah, I don't know, does anybody else have anything
else you wanna talk about? UM? I know that there
are some go fund means out there, UM and other

(19:55):
things to help the victims, So um, if you can
find those, that's especially, like I gave use of money.
We were you know, we were people that talked. And
so now I'm going to go and at least match
that since I can, and I know that not everyone
else can, but I'm going to make sure that I
match that UM donation over on that side. And yeah,

(20:16):
I mean that's that's all. I don't know, that's all
we can. Really, it's hard because you don't want to
lose that empathy, but yeah, exactly and pay like keep
like just push that empathy forward and onto the exactly
I can redirect that very easily, and I think, yeah,
it's just uh yeah, I wish I had more to

(20:38):
So I don't know if I wish I had more
to say. I really don't have much to say because
I only you know, I only know as much as
what I think most people do based on what's out
there on the internet. Um, and I mean based off
of that. Rest assured that you know, this isn't the
place for that kind of ship. So all right, we're
gonna take a quick break. We'll be right back. And

(21:07):
her back and Nancy Pelosi is feuding with the freshman
members of Congress AOC Rashid to leave Aana Pressley and
Laha omar uh. And it's it's been like a slow
boil where she's just been kind of like passive aggressive

(21:28):
and comments like the green whatever you beat what okay,
they're little green dream. It's been very uh yeah, there's
been a lot of tension there, especially like you know,
I think in the beginning, she met with Pelosi, met
with AOC to try and get her backing when she

(21:49):
wanted to get the gavel to be speaker, and and
she did, and then slowly I think things began to
change because on one hand, you have Nancy Pelosi who's
trying to keep her majority in places, to keep her
party in line to be able to pass legislation. Hasn't happened. Uh.
And also you know we then we on the other side,

(22:12):
we have these new members who are seeking to change
the way politics are even being done on the Hill,
and and rightly so, because when we like they're calling
for aggressive action on things like the climate, the the economy, healthcare, immigration,
and constantly nance Nancy Pelosi likes to take the view
of like either being completely dismissive or laughing them off,

(22:34):
and just further sort of like isolating them is like
that's just that group of kids over there. All of
her instincts seem to be political caution, just like going
to the middle road, don't don't impeach because we don't
know how that's gonna play, and that could like give
him some fodder to work with, and so it's just
in action essentially. Yeah, it's really really frustrating, especially because

(22:59):
you watch and so many people will jump in their
mentions and say, you've got to be more respectful, and
you're not being Where are they not being respectful? I
haven't seen anyone who hasn't said anything. Who has said
anything except for to respond to her comments. I haven't
seen anyone, you know, il Hana Marsa out here just
like gag Like none of that is happening, you know.

(23:23):
And the reason why these and what scares people is
that how popular they are. Obviously, it's the popularity, and
folks don't the more that you kind of discount them
and treat them like, oh, they're just babies and their kids,
and they don't know what they're doing, and they're little
whatevers and they're green. Whatever's you're gonna start. You think

(23:45):
that you're being cautious, but what winds up happening is
you are alienating the parts of the country that do
think that they have something to say that do wish
that the Dems would do literally anything. Ever, So, yeah,
and well, and this is where you see a sort
of that generational gap show very clear. You know, like
this generation, the Pelosi Schumers of the world, they uh

(24:06):
and even you know, Mitch McConnell, they stay in power
by like just keeping it low, keeping it low, keeping
it low, keeping it low. Don't ever put your foot
out there, don't ever come out with your chest out
about something hugely controversial. I mean like the probably the most,
like with Nancy Pelosi, you know, the Obamacare, that's like
her thing, and I think a lot of that was
that was a moment for her to sort of show

(24:27):
her leadership in the House. But since then there hasn't
been that much to hang your hat on, aside from
just keeping it low like, oh, well they don't don't
do this or that. And then we have a Now
we have an incoming group of Congress people who are
who came to power because they are the exact opposite,
because they are vocal, because they are willing to criticize
the uh, the infrastructure, the imaginations of the system, and say, wait, what,

(24:53):
how is this working for people? Because it looks like
it's only working for the congress people to stay in office,
and it's working for their wealthy donors. I fail to
see the connection between that and our constituents. That seems
like the key difference is that this new group of
politicians are not in it, like their main goal is
not to stay in power right where and Chuck Schumer

(25:15):
and the previous generation it's all about playing the game
so you can stay in power, so you can continue
to be in power, Like, the power is the end
in and of itself. But what's the point of the
power if you're not doing ship with it? What's a
power that doesn't benefit most people? You know? But yeah,
and it firmly benefits them. And that is another thing

(25:36):
where so many people are like, oh, they're gonna get
primaried or oh they're gonna get beaten in their next election,
because people will actually come forth with someone who is
you know, stronger or better candidate. They only won because
they went against people who sucked and weren't doing anything. Hey. Yeah,
part of the reason they want is because they want
to against people who weren't doing anything. But also I

(25:56):
get a sense that if if AOC, it won't happen.
But if AOC were to get voted out, she's not done, right,
She's not done. No, she's going to run for president
the second that she's old enough to him. Yeah, and
she'll be doing things on the ground. She'll be you know,
she'll be doing charity work, or she'll she's an organizer.
She's an organizer. She's not going away. And I think

(26:18):
that's the thing they don't realize is that there is
a very aware generation of people entering politics who are
not under any kind of illusion on how this ship works. Right,
the reason why you know you have fucking Trump out here.
The economy is so looking strong, it's so strong, But
then you also have the same statistics that come out
that of people who are employed cannot pay their bills, right, So,

(26:42):
how the funk is the economy strong? Man? I think
it was a data gold tweet where he was like, well, yeah,
of course unemployment rates have risen because we all have
like three jobs, right, And I think that's the thing.
Is that like? And why is that? Well, because we
have a lot of wealth being hoarded in these boardrooms,
we have wage stagnation, and that's a function of how
the way this system is set up. Enter these people

(27:04):
who are trying to change the realities for the people
they are in their communities, their neighbors, and and guess what.
Now you've got to put the microscope on this system.
And now the people who used to protect it to
try and obscure people like, well, it's not the banks,
it's so let's talk about other things. Now they're sweating
because it's like pretty soon, like some spleening is going
to have to be done well. And what's great and

(27:24):
I love this this just happened, is that one of
the big criticisms of aoc IS was the Amazon deal.
You know, because of aoc Amazon didn't come to New
York and that could have you know, that could have
brought so many jobs. She ruined everything. Hey, guess what,
Guess who's still coming to New York? Amazon? Guests, who's
coming to New York without all of this beautiful tax
package Amazon? You know, sorry, Jeff Bezos, you don't get

(27:46):
to take out you and all your rich people and
go to space just yet on our tax dollars. You
don't get right here with us. You get to allegion
it's coming, but you don't get to do it just yet. Yeah,
you got says should we go at least it will
be tight. But just for working people, I do. I
do feel like there's been a just the way that

(28:07):
we communicate and the way that media operates has changed
so drastically in the last you know, ten years, and
there's like an old way of doing things that is
the Nancy Pelosi's and the Hillary Clinton's and the new
way of doing things that unfortunately is Trump and like,

(28:28):
you know, AOC and more. It's like sort of an
authenticity being able to just speak with your own voice
in public, uh, and you know, communicate your message and
have people be receptive to it. And I feel like
that's a big difference between like the Republicans accidentally had there,
you know, party taken over by the new way of

(28:49):
doing things, and the Republicans or the Democrats are still
in this battle between the old way of like, you know, well,
if we have something to say, we will issue a
press for least where we it's been carefully vetted and
and AOC is just like, no, I'm going to immediately
respond in my voice to with what I think about this. Yeah.

(29:11):
It's so it's interesting because it runs with a lot
of and it's something that we talked about, particularly in
UM communities full of marginalized voices. Is the respectability politics.
You know, this is how you have to do, This
is how you have to act, and if you're not
that way, you can't be taken seriously. And I think
people are so used to having to be Eliza Doolittle
that when they see someone who does just speak with

(29:32):
their chest and they see someone who does just get
to be themselves. Again that becomes something that's scary, and
I think it bums them out because they had to
do all of these backflips to become some weird, blank
faced corporate person that they kind of get. It makes
them a little sad that it's like, no, you probably
didn't actually have to do all that, if you probably
could have just been you and still gotten ahead. Does

(29:53):
that hurt? That hurts? I used to be you before
I got here, and then I was poison right damn.
But again, you know, the this is sort of because
these new voices are exactly that. Their threat to the
establishment and to business as usual, and unfortunately business as
usual has led to the complete vanishing of the middle

(30:14):
class uh and protections from marginalized people and workers. Everything,
all that ship has gone because of business as usual.
And now again we have these new people coming in.
And on top of that, we're seeing the the the
wagons begin to circle because now that Pelosi has been
isolating them, we now have Like on Friday, there was
a piece that came out in the Hill that was

(30:35):
basically saying, like the Congressional Black Caucus was like accusing
AOC and like the Justice Democrats of going after African
American and Latin X members of Congress, like because like
as if it was because they were people of color,
Like it was no no mention of what it was
ideologically that their their beef was with them as members
of Congress. It was sort of like, yeah, there was

(30:55):
a there was a quote. This is from one of
an AID who wanted to stay anonymous and speaking about AOC.
She's only a woman of color when it's convenience. None
of the things she's fought for aligned with communities of color,
and her group is funded only by elitist white liberals.
She's a puppet. The AID then texted an image of
a Gumba puppet from the Super Mario Brothers video game.

(31:17):
Oh my god, came on, go funk yourself. What are
you doing? Yeah, this is what the kids like, right,
The kids love the Marrow and the Kumba puppets. See,
this is what they're afraid of because they don't know
how to connect with us, Like, gumba puppet, what are
you doing? The first of all, AOC is bronx b
X all day. She is always a woman of color

(31:40):
in public spaces and in private spaces. So I don't
even understand any of that, and what what what? How
has her fight against these concentration camps and other basic
rights not overlapped with these communities? Right when? Again, let's
when you talk about the people that justice Democrats and
people like AOC like when they're because because they're critical
of people within the party, for example, like Henry quay Are,

(32:02):
who is a congress person who has received, out of
all Democrats, the most money from the private prison industry. Okay,
and tell me how that person, how their interests are
aligning with the community, because I see AOC fighting against
that ship, the very people, the very industry that is
profiting from these camps. So what the funk is he
doing aside from taking their money and then voting with

(32:24):
Trump seventy percent of the time? So how is that?
So don't use this idea that like their race is
supposed to shield them from these criticisms. I think it's
absolutely absurd because the people they're even backing in primaries
against them are also people of color. This isn't like
some SWITCHERU thing where they're I mean, there's just been
a lot of very disingenuous depictions about what is actually

(32:47):
happening here. And it's about the accountability that a lot
of these new people are trying to introduce. See, And
again that's one of those like it's you know, how
ethnic is too ethnic? How what are they saying counts
and what doesn't count? And I do think a lot
of that is because again, those a lot of those
members have had to play the game, especially as you

(33:08):
know black Caucus members, especially as black members of Congress,
they've probably had to play the game more than anyone
and eat a lot of ship that they did not
want to and eat a lot of ship that they
didn't want to. And now it's like, oh, you're gonna
come in after years of me putting in this work,
and I will gladly say, yes, they have laid the path,
like absolutely, they have paved the way for all of

(33:30):
these new members. But then to pull the ladder up
behind you because you're scared that's not cool. Yeah, Well,
this seems to be like kind of a thing that
happens generationally, like on many different levels. Right, there's a
there's a generation of people who had to endure things
that a newer generation doesn't, and then there's this resentment
like the same thing comes out when people are like,
forgive student debt, right, but I had to pay. Really,

(33:54):
it's like no, no, no, we don't care what you pay.
Like also education needs to be way way cheaper. Or
even people who just paid off their student debt right, like,
it's the same thing I endured, but now you don't
have to And there's like a little bit of push
day thought you paid off your student debt. I'll be
deferring for ever. So oh, that's gonna be used against

(34:16):
me in a court case. Someday I will defer for
fucking ever. That's you're bad. And I think, yeah, this
is just sort of the thing where even like Greg Meeks,
who's uh in New York, he is on Cruise list
of most corrupt members of Congress consistently. So it's not
like this idea that the CBC is trying to present

(34:36):
that they're going after just any person of color just
because is very absurd. Like the whole reason is because
we have an imbalanced system where some people are they
vote with their corporate interests, with their donors at the
detriment of their constituents. It's very simple. Well, I think
they're just trying to stop this transactional way of being
in office. And I think this whole pushback now is

(34:59):
just it's misguided because they're failing to see what these
criticisms are these even these people, they're like, this person
is not fighting for people, and that's the issue we have.
We need more people who are fighting, right. Um, let's
talk about alex Acosta. He resigned at the end of
last week after you know, putting up a fight, I
guess is what that was supposed to be when he

(35:20):
like had that press conference last Wednesday and kind of
tried to do his version of a Kavanaugh two point
oh where he's like, I'm I'm mad, But his version
was just facts are being overlooked and uh sorry I
just fell asleep there for a second. But he talked
a lot of shit about you know, he said facts
are being overlooked by the reporting. Talked a lot about

(35:43):
other people in the chain of command that he thinks
should have like tried harder to convict Epstein back in
the day. And the reporter of the Miami Herald story
was just like, dude, that they were below you, they
reported to you, and you're like blaming them. Um, So yeah,

(36:04):
I don't know, he gone, probably uh, you know, probably
to be replaced by some someone else, but you know they,
he said. He claimed his reason for retiring or stepping
down was he didn't want his scandal to distract from

(36:25):
the great work Trump is doing elsewhere. He also presumably
didn't want the scandal to draw attention to the nice
things Trump used to say about Epstein and the fact
that he had a party with him where there were
dozens of young models and Trump and Epstein and uh,
nobody else. My dude. He literally was like, oh, he

(36:47):
loves the ladies on the younger side. What do you
did did? It's a quote and it don't matter. I
don't understand words mean things. When did they stop meaning
things a long time ago? Yeah? And then he was
even saying like it's interesting just Trump was like, I
don't know. There's some island. I don't know. I don't
have nothing to do with that. It's like you've been

(37:09):
to the island. Yeah, this is the thing. I mean,
has he been to the young We don't know. We
don't know for sure, but I think when Trump goes
goes as out of his way to be like that
island or whatever that is, I'm not sure what the
heck you know, so he has a he has a
pattern of saying he's not at places or doesn't know
about things, and tends to have been at those places

(37:30):
or does know about those things. I'm still I'm so
flabbergasted by this idea of like, oh well, liberals, what
about Clinton? First of all, fucking duncan on anybody with
Bill Clinton. We don't give a funk about Bill Clinton.
You gotta you'll gotta stop acting like we give a
funk about the Clinton's. We don't. They're done. Well, there's
some people who do, and I think maybe that's who
they think of, because there are people who I'm sure

(37:51):
would have probably like I have to cancel Bill Clinton.
But that's not His daughter tweeted, guys, I think we're
gonna have to cancel some of our faiths af Is
that how we talk when you're is that talking about
children being raped? Guys? You know it really sucks. I
had to cancel my faith because he's straight up raped

(38:12):
a kid. What it's People are obsessed, and especially the right,
is obsessed with this idea that we are in love
with the Clintons and that they are king and Queen
and we will do anything for them. Like, yes, it's
fun sometimes when Grandma Clinton is like she does a
Twitter and it's like, oh, look at her, she's learning

(38:33):
how to she's learning how to twitter. She's trying. But yeah,
I don't care. Who would do they see how quickly
we got Franklin up out of here for a dumb picture. Yeah,
so this idea that we would never you know, we're
going to protect the Clintons. No one I would. I
would honestly venture to say, no one under the age

(38:54):
of forty gives a fuck about anybody in that family. Yeah,
is our future president? So cat have video game? Probably dead? Not,
do you think so? Yeah? Probably? Let's do the math
real quick. He went out, Oh god, he's dead. Cat's

(39:15):
real dead. He did have a video game? Now, well,
I think Also, but like like you say about the right,
like it sort of shows where they're at two where
they I mean, obviously they are playing tribal sports where
it's like this is the team till the end, the
wheels will come off and I'll just be riding on
the bones of child abusers, Whereas like I think that's

(39:36):
why people who at least outwardly seemed to be a
principle will look at these issues and say, oh, objectively, no,
it doesn't matter what that is, Like, like, what where
is your moral compass? If somehow you begin to waver
just because of what how they vote, it's like what so, yeah,
it's so weird because they always do that ballot you know,

(39:56):
they did it with more. They do what they always do,
that balancing act of you know, well it can have
been that bad. Well what does rape mean? You know,
it's it's a version of you know. That's why when
we see all of these things where these judges say, oh, well,
what about his future? He has such a bright future.
He has a right future. All of these dudes. It's

(40:18):
the potential for them and what they can do and
how they can use them is more important than the
lives that they affect. And that's just I mean, they
can't show it any fucking clearer. Yeah. Well and also too,
if you objectively go, oh rape is bad, sexual assault
is bad, and you're doing that like unequivocally it's bad,

(40:39):
then guess who else has to come up on the docket?
Is the president? Yeah? Then what but and see that's
where they're like, see it's a sin if we open
Pandora's box, or we'll just have to do the most
amazing head in the sand act, which is what they're
doing now. They're very good at it. Yeah, oh my god,
so talented, so flexible getting their head down in that sand. Yeah,
it's just and and again to like also realized with

(41:00):
how long Jeffrey Epstein has been able to cook and
we were talking last week about how he was accepted
back into society despite these charges that were very public
years ago so quickly. How many people who are entangled
in his web, um, and also how many people are
involved in this that like, I can only imagine what
this network of enablers actually looks like like from the

(41:22):
media to uh like the Capitol Hill to whatever the
funk it is. And it's going to be scary when
it comes out. And I mean Nancy Pelosi's daughter is right,
we are going to have to hashtag cancel our faves
fam um. But there are, god, there are going to
be she made a great documentary. And once do we
remember that, there are going to be a series of
people that we do like and who we whose work

(41:44):
we do appreciate, that are going to be up out
of here because and that's fine. No one has written
a book so good, no one has hosted a show
so great, no one has written a song so amazing
that it's okay they raped a kid right period. The
quote is from Christine Pelosi, who is a political strategist

(42:05):
and not the She has multiple daughters, and her other daughter,
I think, is the filmmaker Alexandra. Alexandra. That's the one
that I like. Ok Um, well, yeah, I belly. She
doesn't tell me we have hashtag pokemon cancel our faves.
It is just interesting what we see when it makes
sense that the Pelosi camp would be so terrified of

(42:27):
like authentic people who can just communicate their thoughts through
social media, when when they do it, it's we're gonna
have to cancel our faith saves or faiths because they
how about brace yourselves for some really damning ship to
come out about people, even within the own party, we
will have to act accordingly. Yes, yes, faives. And it

(42:49):
wouldn't Sam, it wouldn't even. It wouldn't bother me if
I thought that that was in any way. How she talks,
you would talk like that, boo, how you talk? We
gotta call in Christine, christ d She was with you
read up till there, and she what's an it do?

(43:11):
We're gonna take a quick break, We'll be right back,
and we're back. And we wanted to check in with
a story that when it started, it seemed like it
was all we would be talking about for for weeks

(43:33):
because Nike was in trouble. Uh An entire half of
the country finally had their proofs that Nike hated America
because Colin Kaepernick, you know, famous Soviet spy, told them
that the Betsy Ross flag was racist. Um, and they
pulled back. There was the air Force one because you know,

(43:58):
the flag was being used by racist groups and they're like, yo,
that ship is backwards, don't need it, don't put that,
don't put that on your shoe. I'm part of this
brand now. Now I haven't heard much about this since then.
Is that because Nike went in on business, thank you
to go out of business. I don't know if you
saw everything on Nike dot com right now is off.
All Nike shoes immediately exploded on people's feets. It did

(44:19):
hear people, but they were bad people because they were
wearing Nikes. I just man, Adidas got Beyonce, Nike got Kaepernick. Yeah,
really can't wear nothing but new balances all racists can wear.
Now it's great. Well, then they can also wear Adidas
because Kanye is on Adidas. All right, don't forget that part,
but you know, yes, you're right. Jack. The right mobilized

(44:41):
fucking immediately when they found out Nike pulled an American shoe,
and people like Ted Cruise and like Arizona Governor Doug
Doocey were like, they're done. Never funk with Nike again.
I didn't do he say that, like Nike was going
to open a factory, and he was like not anymore. Yeah,
we're pulling elsewhere. And then everyone else was like, oh,

(45:02):
you can look here where a governor, you can come
right over Mexico. We're right here. We're like, the next
date over, we'll give even more financial insensive the next
date at the expensive hor citizens. But the thing is
we go on. So let's so okay that happened. Look like, wow,
they're in a bad way, Ted Cruise, no more track suits? Yeah,
check in now. Forbes. I just read a very disturbing

(45:23):
snippet from Forbes, and it reads like this, please brace
yourselves shares of Nike are rising after former NFL starting
activist con Kaepernick convinced the company to pull its air
Max one us A sneakers from store shelves. Kaepernick's concern
over the shoes Betsy ross Flag's designs connection to an
air of slavery resonated with investors, as Nike Brace Yourself
has seen a two percent stock increase and added nearly

(45:44):
three billion dollars in market value since canceling the shoes. Oh,
I don't understand what what democrat is putting so much
money into these because it can't be real people. It's
got to be like real American surch sources, Warren Buffett,
foreign money. It's Mickey mouse is warm part of their conspiracy.
I meanever, dude, just billionaires who aren't like fully on

(46:05):
the coach Putin's money, you know, oh my exact see,
and that's we're talking about. That's probably Robert Muller and
James Comey. Oh, it's all Robert m because I made
so much money off of that FBI investigation. Maybe Deucey's uh,
you know, shutting down of the factory hasn't hit their
books yet, and that's why it's right right, Well, what's
funny is when you talk about Doug Doocey. So all

(46:27):
that ship went down, I think right before the fourth
of July. Like on the second right, on the fourth
of July, Doug Doocey was pictured out of fourth of
July barbecue wearing guess what kind of shoes? Believe those
are Nike Cortezes. They're Nike sums, They're Nike. You ain't Nike.
You full of shits, is what he has on UM
So okay, I thought you have you have abandoned us.

(46:53):
I mean I thought you were a man of principle.
Cut to Friday, when this tweet comes out from Doocy,
the guy who's like, we're pulling all financial incentives for
Nike's factory. They will absolutely have no place in our state.
This is what this is. A a new he quote
tweets a thing from the Arizona Chamber of Commerce that
says we're please Nike will locate its new manufacturing facility

(47:13):
in Goodyear, a project that will create over five hundred
jobs with four million dollar investment. And then Doug Doocey's
quote is this is good news for Arizona and for Goodyear. UM.
Five hundred plus jobs. Arizona is open for business, and
we welcome Nike to our state. Funk out of here.
I didn't know Nike made tap shoes. I mean, that's

(47:39):
a fucking one eight if I've ever seen. And that
just shows you money is their god. That's all it is.
These people have are full of ship. They have no
moral anything to stand on high ground, compass anything. But
the lack of effort to even find a pair of
sneakers to wear it to your Fourth of July just
heat is not They don't take They don't take their

(48:03):
followers seriously, or take their supporter seriously, or he just black.
He just I guess when you're on autopilot and you're like,
what's what's the culture war about? Right? Right? Okay here, okay,
let me do my little let me signal my side, right,
and then you got your nikes on because because he
doesn't care, he doesn't How did nobody come up to
him at that barbecue. That's the first time he's broken
through to the national news and he comes and he

(48:26):
goes to a barbecue wearing nikes. He nobody was came
up to him, was like, yo, you know what I
bet they did? I bet someone came up to him
was like, you know you were Nikes. He's like, oh
that was Nike, Nike, Nike Nike, or even just like yeah,
but you know these are my good grilling shoes, like

(48:48):
you know that that conversation came up. Or Plus, they're
not going to call each other out right, you know
what I mean. If he's at like an event with
other Republicans, they're going to probably their money's green too
or something like that. Yeah. Yeah, he's like, well, you know,
hundred eighty four million dollars, five jobs. I have to
run on that. That's right. So we'll we'll see. I mean, no,

(49:11):
we won't there, nothing will come. I won't Nike flexed
pon your gravelex pund Grave flex pond the grave grave.
All right, let's talk about Area one. Thank God, it's time. Okay,
are you ready? I'm ready? I got my tax Are
you ready? I am so ready prepping. I went and

(49:32):
got some water. I went and got some canned goods
that don't need a can opener. Pop that chef boy
already open. Let's get this way. Have chef with a
pop top do man? I like the star kissed tuna
canned snack joints with the crackers. That would be my
Does there any canned good still require a can opener?
They should all be doing the pop top man. I

(49:54):
guess maybe it's more Yeah, it's but you know it's
it's better if you eight earthquake rations, which is what
I bought them for. But now they're going to be
used to store. So if you don't know what we're
talking about, they're talking about goods first cans, but we
call that area is what the bathroom is after we
can goods? Um No. There's a Facebook event called storm

(50:16):
Area fifty one. They can't stop us all yeah, they uh,
And it's planned for late September where the plan is
basically to pull up to Area fifty one and bust
the aliens out. This is okay, I'm gonna read you
literally from the description of the event. No, no, no,
this is not because you don't don't disrespect this with them.

(50:37):
I'm literally just imagining Area fifty one is a base
being like pull up there, pull up just like the
actual building, like oh yeah the buildings are you for real? Dog? Like? No?
Um yeah, I do imagine. I think people are picturing
like the men in Black thing where you just walk
through one door and the aliens are right there like

(50:59):
you can just like they're like Vietna that it's a
very thin membrane of like a gate. And then you
get in past the gate and you're at the hangar
where they keep the flying saucer. But Area fifty one
is like, you know, there's a gate, and then there's
miles and miles of desert and mountains, and then you
get to the thing that they're hiding from us. All well,

(51:21):
I can't accidentally get to read the description because they
have a plan. Okay, this is from the event page.
This is literally word for what it says. We will
all meet up at the Area fifty one Alien Center
tourist attraction and coordinate our entry. If we know Rudo
run what we can move faster than their bullets. Let's
see them aliens. Let's see them aliens. Is the greatest conclusion,

(51:47):
because how many grandmas had to learn what Naruta run was? Oh?
Them kids running their arms out like that, that's what
that is. Then boomers, man, where they're they're learning things
this week? Yeah, they're like Naruto is that one? Is
that that congress person? Right? Uh? Yeah, I don't know.

(52:08):
I mean, look, right now, there's almost a half million
people who have marked themselves as going on this event,
with another near half million saying they're interested. Right, So look,
I get the excitement though, Yeah, because we've got the
fucking we got all these tik tak videos and ship
in the government's based Like, yeah, I don't know, Yeah,
I guess there's I don't know, we don't know what
that is storming of Area fifty one, like if that

(52:28):
hasn't been green lit, Like somebody needs to write that
script right away and get that ship. What's very All
those people are mercilessly killed against a military installation, and hey,
guess who gets to have machine guns? And you don't.
Would it be funny though? If the Naruto runs they
really did run faster than the bullets, that would be tight.
I just say, you're unprotected when you run that way,

(52:50):
although you're always unprotected when you run head first towards right. Yeah.
Do you think are they trying to like cook it,
like kick it with the aliens? Like what is the
end goal? Well, the memes have probably been the funniest
thing to come out. Yeah, when it was like me
and my homies after we storm. It's like photos of
like gang members, but all their guns are like from Halo,

(53:11):
Like one do you have like the needler and ship.
I was like, yeah, get that ship, but like, yeah,
I don't know. I honestly part of me wants to
go because if we're going to see the aliens, I
want to see the aliens. Yeah, I'm very interested. Just
the m c U has tricked all y'all into thinking
you can be part of the adventure, and you certainly cannot.
You don't get to go to space with the Guardians

(53:33):
of the Galaxy. You don't get to hang out with Thor,
you don't get to go to Shield, save up your money,
go to you know, the new Star Wars theme park
as close as you don't get you don't get to
kick it with aliens. I'm sorry. This is one thing
where you do have to be elite to do it,
And I get it. Yeah, right, Like we're not elite
enough to see them aliens. No, I get it. Like this, Normally,

(53:54):
I'm like, you know, everyone deserves things, and I'm you know,
damn socialist and blah blah blah. But in this case,
I'm nah, there's probably a reason we ain't seen them
aliens yet, although I don't. I don't know. There's like
a classification bias or like an addiction to classification in
military and in the government that people within the government

(54:16):
have talked about and then like it. First of all,
it makes the government incredibly inefficient because everything is classified
from everyone else. But also it's just the easy thing
to do is classify it. If you got to get
that cute classification. My dude, if you if you hit
Q level, then you would get to meet the aliens. Right. Well,
I mean, I'm not gonna say I am Q, but

(54:37):
uh but I you know, you know, you know a
thing or two about this person, but we go when
we go, all, he's a friend, let's put it that.
I wonder if they're using this Jeffrey Epstein thing to
further their narrative. Yeah, we need to with a Q
community get a Julian back. Well, no, but it seems
like they are really worried about pedophiles until they're real

(54:58):
and then they like, because oh they've been all over this,
they just ignore all the Trump stuff. From what I've
I have a hobby. I call it a hobby. I
never realized I was doing it until I got older.
Where I am I make merchandise and I saw it
and that's how I pay my rent. But where I
like to follow weird internet subcultures and communities. It's super

(55:20):
my thing. One day I'll monetize it whatever, because I
do that with everything else in my life. But I've
been reading on the Q stuff, and one of their
theories is that the reason Trump spent so much time
with Epstein was because he was going to take him
down from me inside. That's brilliant. That's like what if
I got caught smoking weed by a cop. I would
say that I was like I was with them. I'm undercover, due,

(55:42):
I'm just trying to bring them down. I'm trying to
help you out. Alright. Just let us let us have
got a lot of data. I'm sorry, we were listening
to bombs over bagdad crazy loud. It's one am and
we're in a residential neighborhood. But I will get them.
I will bring them to justice. Just let me finish
this bun real quick. That's how they know I'm one
of them. Go suck it up, man, I'm Donny Brasco.

(56:03):
Keep it low, alright, Let's do a quick check in
with what we're fucking with. Yeah, just let you know
things around the office that we're laughing at or obsessed
with and might not even be funny to you. I
don't know, Um, I mean, I guess the first thing
I just want to do is I want to put
people onto this account called O S G D Memes. Now.

(56:25):
I don't know where I think it's It's from maybe
Indoonesi or something that I just saw it because there
was one meme that fucking I think it's just so funny.
It's not even like really clever. And first let me
just play this for you, Danielle, so you can see
it and then we can discuss it because it's visual.
Oh I love these. Okay, So in this meme, there's

(56:45):
a guy. It starts off with a dude trying to
hammer something in the wall. He accidentally hits his thumb
and he's doing the auchi like flicking his hand like.
Then incomes another person put sunglasses on it, and the
UK late in his hand and suddenly that flailing hand
is strumming the ship out the UK Lately. It's great clever.
The just just it reminds me of classic Vine almost
especially like because they're older dudes, like those are boomers. Yeah, yeah,

(57:10):
that's like some old Yeah for sure. So that's O
S G D memes. I will I guess we'll have
to put them the footnotes for you to actually experience that.
And I know that was a terrible thing to describe
a video on a podcast, but you know what, that
is what we do. I'm pretty sure I convede. I'm
pretty sure I convede the spirit of that. Mean, well,
speaking of boomers, Uh, we want to talk about the

(57:33):
is it a Facebook? It's a Facebook you're talking about.
It's so good that baby boomers be like that with
the no. I don't know what is it what is
it called. I don't remember what it's called. I'm still
but essentially, there is a Facebook group where a bunch
of us post like we're boomers, and it's amazing because
someone will post something that looks like a Google search result, um,

(57:55):
and then underneath someone will post you know, uh, hey, Karen,
just wanted to let you know that Uncle Miles is
doing better and a surgery went great. Like just people
posting like our aunts and uncles do because they don't
know how the internet works, and it is a delight
shout out to whoever on Twitter was like, please check

(58:15):
this out. And I didn't realize how much I needed
that in my veins. Uh, It's just it's the Facebook
post that really get me when it's like, I can't
believe Roger died two years ago to day, still thinking
about him all the time. Oh god, my knee still
kind of getting better. Signed Harry signed is my favorite?

(58:38):
Oh my god. So there's that one. Yes. And then
Miles and I, as we mentioned on an episode last week,
finally saw the end of the Spider version. What do
you guys think? That was my favorite? My favorite movie
of last year might be the best movie of all time,
all time. It is so Toy Story four was okay,

(58:59):
it was fine, four days great, I get it. I'm
also trash. It's good I and I was telling people
because not I feel like not a lot of people
got to see it in theaters, which is a bummer
because that I hope that they rerelease it. That movie
needs to be seen in theaters. And so that was
one that I got to see early because I was
covering the junket and I came out and even other
critics that were there were like, I don't know why

(59:20):
I should care about this is just animation. Yeah, yeah,
well it's just animation. I'm like, how is this not
the most innovative Western animation you have ever seen? It
doesn't look like anything anything you've seen before, and so
I'm really glad. You know, when it started going to

(59:40):
like dollar theaters and it kind of started picking up,
I was rooting for it aggressively, for that Oscar. So
I'm really happy that people are starting to see how
good that is, because so many people downplayed it because
it is an animated movie, and to me, that is
my favorite Spider Man movie. It is my favorite movie
of last year. It is my favorite Spider Man movie.

(01:00:01):
I cannot wait to see what they do with the sequels.
You know, Peter Ramsey is got I'm not like always
on top of superhero films, so that was sort of
like the first hurdle I to get over well exactly,
and I'm like, oh my, oh god. But then everyone
was like every person whose opinion I respect is like
it's fucking good, and I was like, so in my
mind I was like, okay, I'll get around, So I'll
get around to it. Thank God for airplanes. That's when

(01:00:23):
you can get around to ship. And I is that.
Do you think it's better to see it in theaters
or on an airplane? I think it's definitely better to
see it on an airplane. It's a more comfortable experience.
Airplanes are never uncomfortable. That's the ideal viewing experience. Every director,
and they will never tell you this, specifically makes movies
tailored for the airplane experience, especially if it's on your phone.

(01:00:47):
So I couldn't. Yeah again, it was just, uh, it
really was one of those things where a lot of
our animations in the US are merely just sort of like,
it's this thing, but it's animated, where they really took
the opportunity to introduce like this surrealism to it. That
was like I was like, well, okay, I like this
And for that reason, I will also big ups if
anybody hasn't watched it yet. Two Cutton Bertie, two Cutt

(01:01:10):
and Birtie also is an animated show. It is done
by Lisa Hannah walt Um who she was and a
lot of people like, oh, it's a bo Jack rip off. No,
she is the art director for bo Jack. It is
based on her arts. Yeah, and that's why it looks
like that. And I had to explain to some people
because people were like, no, they're ripping them off. It's like, no, well,
you know how all of Seth McFarland stuff looks the

(01:01:30):
same because it's based on his art style. That's what
it is. Two cutten Birdie is once you it takes
a while for you to get it, but once it clicks.
Because they also it is also a show that knows
that it's animated and plays a lot with the conventions
of animation. So and also a plant has titties and
you see them. Yeah wow. But yeah, I mean if

(01:01:52):
you like movies, I feel like I'm at the point
where like, if you like film as a genre, you
should see into the Spider Verse because it's animated. Movies
don't do enough with their animation. After watching that, and
also like, I don't know, like all movies should be
as good as that. That movie is. Guy, it's Lord
and Miller. It's Lord and Miller. Yeah. Yeah. And also

(01:02:16):
you get Nick Cage just sucking spooky voice in there too,
and John mulaney Like there's so many good things that Like,
as I was watching, I didn't know and I was like,
fucking Nick Kates is in this and I was like, Joham,
what the fun. That's when I was like, damn, I'm
fucking stupid. I waited like nine years to watch this ship. Yeah, no,
I agree. Even if you don't Fox with animation or
with superheroes, it just tells a really, really good story. Yeah,

(01:02:39):
and now it's streaming on Netflix and I was even
I won't even spoil it. Yeah, they had me had
me twisted up emotionally watching. Well, Danielle, it's been a
pleasure having you. Thank you for having Where can people
find you? Follow you? Um, you can find me at
Danielle Radford on Twitter. I was the first one to
get it early adopters, so it's just that on Yeah,

(01:02:59):
on install I didn't, So I'm Danielle Underscore rad It's fine.
I'm still the one with the most followers Underscore Gang. Um,
so yeah, you can find me there if you Fox Hardcore.
With the wrestling, I have a wrestling podcast with Max
Fun called Tights and Fights. I am also on Screen Junkies,
which is where most people know me from, where I
do some hosting of some panels, and I'm one of

(01:03:20):
the writers on Honest trailers, and so if you like
the Honest trailer and you're like, that line sounds like Danielle,
I probably didn't write it. Who guys just think I did.
I wrote one of the other one, like people always
do that, because sometimes we'll put a little stank on
a line and everyone's like, that's Danielle and it's like, no,
not every time something sounds like a A V it's me.

(01:03:41):
I just they do they do. We had a line
in our latest trailer, was the Game of Thrones UM
six through eight season trailer, and we had one line
that was, oh gosh, what was it? Um? Or will
she four twenty blaze it? Because she ain't getting that? Nephew,
do no more? And everyone assumed I wrote that, and

(01:04:02):
I was like, no, I didn't. Fucking we all wrote
that line right stop, like I wrote also other things
that you guys like very much. Just because something sounds
a little urban doesn't mean that I wrote it. Though
it's a major League gaming parody video. And is there
a tweet you've been enjoying? There is And at the
risk of being too horny on Maine, um, because this

(01:04:27):
is very horny, but I thought it was really funny.
You know, everyone's doing the bottle cap challenge. So there
is someone at Flashman Wade who said, kay, y'all can't
stop with this hashtag bottle cap challenge a series of
emojis retweet dot dot dot, I don't care who judges me,
your hates on me. I find this hilarious because I'm
comfortable with myself. And then you go on it and

(01:04:47):
it's a dude who does the bottle cap challenge with
his big swinging dicky, just his very his very large dog.
Um just have to see that. Can't be real? Yeah,
I'd like to see that. Yeah, no way, it's yeah,

(01:05:08):
that's real. That's that's it, that's his dick. I'm hearing
all of the keyboards going right now, and that's what
making me super happy. Miles, where can people find you?
You can find me and follow me on Twitter and
Instagram at Miles of Gray. A tweet I like is
from Katie Delaney which is said my mood today is

(01:05:29):
my foot hurts. Can I go to the nurse for
all my clueless, fucking gang out there? Says? And I
was I remember watching that scene as a kid. I
was like, damn, that's how high school is going to
be you can be like, I need go get my
cranberry seed in the quad before someone snags h. Well,
you can find me in the bathroom trying that bottle
cap thing. But also uh on Twitter at Jack Underscore

(01:05:53):
O'Brien some tweets I've been enjoying. Josh at I wear
a onesie tweeted, wife, why is your back all scratched up?
Flashback to me chasing a raccoon A sure she told
me to leave it alone. Me, I'm having an affair.
Uh after she told me to leave it alone. It's

(01:06:18):
so great. Uh. And then at Vlad Chuck tweeted, math problem.
I have three apples and I'm traveling towards you at
seventeen miles per hour. It's not really a problem, more
of a warning. Apple time ditches. And of course the
Youngion tweeted. Paul Ryan lauded for inspiring millions of young,

(01:06:39):
gutlass fucking cowards to take on leadership roles. Trump didn't
know about government. You kind of let us know. Yeah,
thanks man. Uh. You can find us on Twitter at
Daily Zeitgeist for at the Daily Zeitgeist on Instagram, we
have a Facebook fan page and a website, Daily zycheis
dot com, where we post our episodes and our footnote

(01:07:00):
when we link off to the information that we're talking about.
I'm just looking at the guy doing the bottle cap
choone with his dick. Uh to be fair, I mean
he doesn't really unscrew it. It was knocked it than
a spin off spinoffs only, uh rules. Yeah, we link

(01:07:21):
off to the information that we talked about in today's episode,
as well as the song we ride out on as
what's that going to be today? Let's do the Frighteners
all my tears, you know, just some just some reggae,
you know, or dub rock steady. I guess we'll call it. Okay, Yeah,
And but they're like but they're from Queens if they're

(01:07:42):
like hip, but they they're sound is very good. They're
definitely using some throwback recording equipment because they're on daptop,
so you know, they got that sound. So you know,
hopefully they'll have a new album called Ponder Grade. But
I don't think all right, we're gonna ride out on that.
We will be back tomorrow because it is a daily
podcast and we will talk to you guys then by night.

(01:08:03):
