Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hello the Internet, and welcome to this episode of Oh Zight.
She was a Young America trend That is courtesy Lisa
p Uh. I'm Jack O'Brien. That's Miles Gray. Miles, how
are you doing? Um on thridening, I'm the I'm the
(00:23):
rose that grew from quarantine concrete. Uh well, let's let's
tell the people what's trending right now. One of the
things that's trending is Disneyland, which is weird because I
thought they were shut down. Yeah. Well, so Universal Studios
recently came out and they were like, you know, March twelfth,
(00:44):
it was pretty much the day that like the theme
parks are like, Okay, I think we gotta we gotta
shut this ship down. Um. Universal was like, yeah, I
think we'll open up on April one. And then on
Tuesday they're like, you know what, actually not, We're gonna
at least be close to April. Disneyland. It from everything
I'm seeing here, it looks like Disneyland and World are
(01:05):
still set to reopen on April one. And people were like, really,
like as in next week, as in a week from
today April for what was it Thursday? Um, so I
don't know, I have a feeling they'll probably push that back.
But as of right now, a lot of people are
scratching their heads like come on, like, are you really
believing what the presidents saying? Or you also so hell
(01:27):
bent on generating revenue in your parks that you'll put
the world at risk. Well, they thought they thought the
president's claimed that we would be back open for business
by Easter was incredibly pessimistic. Yeah, right, because Easter is
at least a week after April one. Um, I don't know.
(01:48):
I'm a bad person who used to go to Christian school,
so I couldn't tell you when Easter is this year.
Quick google April twelve, April twelve. So they were like, hey,
you're off by a couple of weeks. Man, You're got
to get these people back on their rides. Yeah, swap
and spit, let's talk. Karl Anthony Towns is trending, uh
(02:13):
for a depressing reason. His mom is in a medically
induced coma right now from coronavirus. Uh. There's really uh
hard to watch video of him just you know, kind
of breaking down and telling people to stay the funk home. Um,
it's awful, man, it's really there's just so many people
(02:34):
who are being affected by this right now. Yeah, And
it's just you know, we were saying this in the
beginning of the outbreak. It's that like, this is one
of those issues, are global crises that it does. It
will touch you, no matter where you live, no matter
what class you're in, it can it can touch you.
And I think, yeah, when you see this, especially for somebody,
(02:57):
you know, we think of we've already seen like, oh, well,
celebrities are getting access to tests and things before this
that like even in a situation like this, you're a
millionaire basketball player, your own mother comes down with it
is having issue. It's just it's tragic. But I think
this is why we're starting to see the human toll
a bit more because I think it was a little
more abstract to people when the you know, cases were
(03:20):
like in the thousands and things like that, and the
and the deaths were you know and like the tens
and now is that's increasing. You know, It's I think
the issue and the severity of it is going to
be even more vivid for people who maybe need that
level of detail for them to act. Yeah, waffle House
is trending, Yeah, because they got the waffle house index. Man,
(03:44):
So the waffle house index, Yeah, I know, I know
about that. As as regards hurricanes, right or storm preparation
and FEMA, they'ld like monitor too. Yeah, so female monitors
how many waffle houses are open at any given time
in a place that's either been struck by a hurricane
(04:05):
or about to be struck by hurricane to get a
sense of basically like the preparedness and like how people
are reacting and just how a region is doing because
waffle houses, if a waffle house can be open, it
will be open. Um. Yeah, but I I haven't read
anything about how waffle houses faring in the coronavirus quarantine.
(04:28):
Are they staying open? Well, they they have. There are
some that are open, there are some that are closed.
And they say, according to the waffle House Index, it's
an index red situation just because of the amount of
closures there are. They say, like in an index yellow
means waffle houses in certain locations have like a limited menu,
(04:50):
because that means like no food supplies or no power
or limited power or whatever what have you. But this
is more like, okay, we have places completely closed trying
to do as much as they and but an indication
that yeah, this is even the once mighty waffle house
is also having to rethink staying open or not. Yeah yeah,
(05:10):
I feel like, uh, I haven't even really thought about that, like,
because I know McDonald's is like facing some pushback because
they're not giving their employees paid sickly or they they're
giving their employees at corporate stores paid sick leave. But um,
you know chain restaurants like this that don't have drive throughs, like,
(05:31):
what what are they planning to And I think, yeah, yeah,
that's the that's the most they can do. Yeah. Uh
And finally, rhino r I n oh, I think that's
how you pronounced that is trending. Um, the President tweeted,
(05:52):
this is a really great news. So the President retweeted
an article that with the headline met Romney test negative
for coronavirus and uh he the President tweeted, this is
a really great news. I'm so happy I can barely speak.
You may have been a terrible presidential candidate and an
(06:12):
even worse U. S. Senator, but he is a rhino
and I like him a lot. Exclamation point? Uh is
he trying to even say like it doesn't rhin Republican
in name only. I mean, I guess before, but I
just like the whole, like the sarcasm thing, Like it's
(06:34):
it doesn't even make sense like that you're being sarcastic.
It just sounds like you're just sputtering out. I don't know. Yeah,
it's very Then are we? Where are we? Jack? Where
are we? Exactly? What is this? He's still president jokes?
Even if he had of a crisis. I mean he
(06:54):
he referred to himself as a wartime president I think
early on in the crisis, which is amazing to imagine,
like if he was, you know, our FDR if there
was like a world war, and yeah, he was just
tweeting out he's our Yeah, he's our f tu fucking
this up right, just tweeting out petty tweets about media
(07:21):
figures who didn't invite him to party or exactly exactly.
You love to see it. He's such a catty a
little bit. He's such a leader, you know, he's he's
on wavering Yeah. Uh, what I do wonder like what
is his official stance on on Romney did? What? What
does he think Romney was? Or like what do his
(07:42):
supporters claim Romney like do they think he was involved
in the comic pizza. Uh, who knows where it's headed now.
I mean the second he voted against him during the
whole impeachment thing, it was like, I don't know, if
it's open season, like just make whatever the fuss up,
you know, we'll protect that's true, so we can just
(08:03):
like find multiply the anger as much as possible. Right, Alright, guys,
that is going to do it for this episode of trending,
this trending episode. Al Right, it's a it's a long quarantine,
but we will be back tomorrow with a whole another
(08:24):
episode and we'll tuck you guys, Bye bye,
