Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hello the Internet, and welcome to this episode of Stand
Van Trendy Van Gundy. Play on that name? Yeah, who
else but the one, the only stand band Gundi. I'm Jack,
that's Miles. I don't know if anyone was confused thought
I was stand Dan Gundy. Well we've clarified it. Now,

(00:20):
we have clarified it. Stan band Gundi is actually the
name of someone who is trending right now. Brother of
Jeff band Yes, former Miami Heat coach, you know, also
a commentator. I think mostly now is what he's known for.
Is he still trying to coach a team? Though? Is
he always? I feel like people always been like, yeah,
there's Stan Van Gundy and then feel like that, well,

(00:41):
he he had the New Orleans job and that, officially,
I think put the end to his coaching career because
they were, you know, young, promising. He came in, he
was like GM and coach and it did not work
out so well. I think it was just like a
season or too. So he us he's trending for a
good reason if he's trending, because that's a lot of

(01:04):
name that everyone's like, you know, the the hot goss
on stand Ban Gundy now, so he tweeted, nineties NBA
teams had just a trainer and a strength coach. They
practiced more often and harder, and played more back to back.
Teams now have huge medical and performance staffs and value
rest over practice. Yet injuries and games missed are way up.

(01:27):
Something's not working. And Kevin Durant came in and said,
stand spitting, and stan Van Gundy said, no, I'm not
criticizing players. I'm saying that we're getting something wrong and
how we're prepare and train players. We can't do anything
about injuries like yours. He fell on your leg, but
all of these growing hamstring injuries shouldn't be happening. As
much as responded, Stand, I agree with you a little,

(01:49):
And then someone had to respondence, say spitting means you
were speaking fact. Stan stand had no idea, So yeah,
a peek behind what what the locker room must be
like in any team with an elderly Pop wouldn't get
caught like that. Well, he wouldn't give a ship if
Kevin Durant disagree, But I'm saying Pop wouldn't know what

(02:10):
that meant, right, Pops like that guy and that Gift
who does like the complicated hand greeting with the white
guy who like, yeah, like stacking with like blood gang
signs or something like yo what uh yeah, but look stand,
I mean, maybe come on, you're spitting man. I'm not

(02:32):
saying I wouldn't. I agree. I'm not criticizing the players.
You have me wrong, sir anyway, and I like I
had to go stand, I agree with you. Hello, Kevin
Durant underrated, just ultra celebrity in that he just really

(02:54):
is out here, child of the Internet and just speak
to his mind, you know, get drunk, goes on the
wrong podcast, but a podcast nonetheless and you get to
hear obviously, yeah he didn't well Myles and Jack got
Matt boost. He didn't exist yet. Um, so he had
to go on some lesser NBA podcasts like uh, you

(03:15):
know what I mean. So there, Yeah, we'd have you
as a guest on Zeitgeist. I guess, like we'd have
to talk about it, but we think about it for
there's a process though to guess yeah, show so you
you know all that say process al right, be of
A is trending, um, saying that Bank of America is
having some problems. I think some security issues there's a

(03:39):
technical glitch reported on the morning of Wednesday, January eighteen.
Many Bank of America customers have stated they're missing funds,
have a negative balance, and or missing deposits. Um. And
I think it's tied to Zell. So I don't know
if you if you bank with Bank of America, check
your account. I think it's the moral of the state.

(04:00):
As of just about an hour ago, they said, Okay,
it's been resolved. Oh man, um but yeah, they it's
it looks like it's all working. Transaction on the Zone
network outside of Bank of America are not impacted. Okay.
I'm always waiting for the for the day when we
wake up and all the banks have just been cleaned
out digitally, you know. Yeah, right, it's like Mr Robots

(04:23):
style or you know what they tried to do and
the end a fight club, right, or they're blowing up
all the banking records, like and there's no debts that
the fucking thing they were all one in. Yeah, I
think they both. I will say that the makers of
Mr Robot definitely saw flight Club, but it turns out
it turns out the time. But yeah, yeah, this is uh,

(04:43):
I mean, what a funk up because people were taking screenshots.
It's like, hey, your balance is negative three thousand, blah
blah blah, like holy sh it, man, Like whatever, good
advertisement for credit unions. You know. Um, Trump is trying
to for a couple of reasons. Always good news. Um. First,
people think that he may be coming back to Twitter

(05:06):
because his staff reached out to Meta and was like, hey,
we want we want to come back to you, we
miss you, we want to be back on the social's media. Yeah.
And then I mean, David seems possible because he was
doing so much ship on Twitter, like it was sucking

(05:27):
up all the oxygen. And we talked about how then
Elon sucked up all the oxygen on Twitter and right
now nobody's there to suck up the oxygen on Twitter again.
And I think he's looking at and me like I
need to get relevant again social popping at all, which
will be interesting too, because I think we talked about
how if he goes back to Twitter, I think his

(05:49):
investors can sue him because he was supposed to stay
exclusively on truth social Um. But whatever, Like good luck
trying to get your money from him. You know. My
guess is that is not factoring into his decision making
not at all. He's like, what are they going to do?
Sue me? Who gives a ship? I think he looks
at how little his follower number is on truth Social

(06:09):
versus what it was on Twitter, yeah, and twitters now,
you know, empty of any moderation. It's he's gonna this
is gonna be a big deal. I'm sure if if
he does decide to go back on bad deal. I
think there was something also about meta essentially kind of
being like, yeah, maybe we'll you know, vet the stuff

(06:32):
he's saying. I don't know there. I think everyone's preparing for,
like what a Trump back social media landscape looks like.
I think if everyone, you know, just just do as
you should, don't follow him, you know, you don't need
to hear about it. He's not he's not relevant. But again, whatever,
I'm gonna cross stay in an athletic stance. I'm gonna

(06:54):
be ignoring the ship out of it so hard that
I'm gonna need to be like keep my head. And
he's coming back. He's gonna say the most fucked up
thing and like, you know, probably give credence to some
shitty conspiracy theory, and we're gonna have to be like, oh, yeah, no,
we're definitely, I mean that's yeah. But just because we
have to, just because we have to do, that's not

(07:14):
it's not even want to. It's not because like I
get a charge out of it and then it like
fires my anger neurons or anything like that. It's actually
because I have to, and I regret it. Dude. My
nickname was rip Tide Rush back in high school because
I was so thirsty. Not anymore, not anymore. We also
saw a poll, which we don't put too much stock
in polls, but there was a Morning Consult poll because like,

(07:38):
the thing that the impression you might have gotten from
the mainstream media is that Trump is over, like onto
the next thing. De Santis is the new improved model. Um,
Trump's campaign is lonely and nobody like cares. It's depressing
over there. Um, someone ran a poll and he has
a seventeen point lead over to Satis in a hypothetical

(08:01):
primary matchup, which is kind of where I would have, like,
prior to all the fucking up and all the big stories.
It's kind of what I thought it was. M hm.
You know is that like Trump has a big built
in advantage over the Santis he does. I mean, I
think the thing that is we don't really think about

(08:22):
when we game out them going head to head is
just how fucking low Trump is gonna go. Like it's
like we know it as a given, but I don't know,
like for for all the like, Rhonda Santis is smart.
I think that's why he's like, man, I'm not trying
to get into the mud with this fucking guy. Like
hopefully it can he will organically flame out and then

(08:44):
I can enter when he's in a very weakened state.
But even then, you're looking at a cornered orange rat
who is ready to do whatever the funk he has
to to either get back in office or make these
investigations go away. And seeing rhond to say Antis as
like an impediment to that would be very interesting. Not
to mention how he'd probably question the entire primary process

(09:06):
in the country too. He's like, though all those votes
are rigged, like wait, hold on, yeah, huh. And there
there's been recent polling that found trumpet De Santis were
neck and neck, and before that, I think there was
even a poll that said De Santis. There's one December
that found De Santa's beating Trump, but for all of
the mainstream media kind of kicking dirt on, like you know, well,

(09:30):
surely this is the thing that's buried him and proven
that he's a fraud to his followers. Does not appear
to be born out in the numbers, at least at
this stage. Pulling is very flawed, but it's up to
this point the pulling has usually underestimated his support, not
overestimated it. Yeah, or it's like a regression to the mean, right,

(09:51):
Whereas the last time we got those polls was like
right off the heels of the mid terms, and Trump
just looked so defeated, looked like a total joke, and
so people, i think for Republicans, were like, fuck that, man,
I want to win, fucking Santists or whatever. And then
now that things have gone quiet a little bit and
you ask again, it's back to like, I mean, Trump's

(10:12):
like the guy. Yeah. So I think it's gonna take
a combination of like you know, certain news stories or
whatever for because we're not I mean shit, I'm really
curious to see, like in about six months where the
party is on him, if there's any movement, or they're
gonna be like yeah, yeah, we're just gonna burn up
on reentry holding onto this guy, um because you know,

(10:34):
the lack of thinking over there seems like yeah, I
mean they're going to be further to the right if
history is any indication, like that's just the direction they're moving.
And he's he's kind of positioned to by position, I mean,
just like you know, makes up his his position on
every morning, you know, when he gets online. So I

(10:58):
don't know, Yeah, it just is like there's a lot
of things that favor him, so hopefully not, but I
think he's probably gonna be in it for a while.
Just Santis stands to has a better shot of beating Biden,
which I think maybe the case, there'll be enough people
to be like, well, the Santis is different, even though

(11:19):
he says the exact same things, it's Trump. Like someone
could do a little moral licensing there and be like,
you know what, maybe I was wrong about the Republicans,
whereas Trump it's gonna be like, I mean, the Democrats,
I'm sure just praying for that because they're like, yes,
just use all the same oppo. Fantastic. But whenever it's
Trump versus a Democrat, Trump, like the polling always underestimates.

(11:44):
Like the polling heading into the election was like Biden
was up double digits. I think the same with Clinton,
or at least it was like seven percent eight percent,
and this polling says three percent. So I don't know.
I mean, look that Jack, the Democrats are gonna learn.
They just got go hard to the left during the campaign,
get all the people out, and then completely back the

(12:06):
blue right gets sworn in on that Bible. All right,
let's take a quick break. We'll be right back, and
we're back, and flow Rider is back. Did he ever leave?

(12:28):
But he just wanted eighty two million dollars after he
sued Celsius, yeah, for being jankie as ship with their
business practices. Apparently he'd signed an endorsement deal like in
and renewed it like a couple of years later. But
they're like, where the funk are my stock options and
all these other bonuses, And I guess they thought they

(12:48):
could just funk with this dude's money. But he sued
and he won. The footage is great. He comes out
of the courtroom after he's won this case and he
takes a big old sip of a Celsius at the turn,
just to be like, ah, you know is good. Justice
was served today. Uh and then just like there's like
another shot of him in the courtroom where they're like

(13:09):
playing his music for the jury to be like I
mean you know, like it's like this these are well
known songs or whatever and just watching him like yeah, yeah,
he was just like bopping along to the track and
the songs are infectious. They take you Back, Get they
Take You Back. Definitely Whistle song Man. That is in
my head for at least the next forty eight hours. Alright, alright, Uh,

(13:33):
Boston Dynamics is trending. They released a new video of
what one of their robots that not only can it walk,
which I was not familiar with the latest technology from
Boston Dynamics, um where it's doing the fucking gainer and ship.
They they came with a bipedal robot that is doing

(13:58):
parkour and built like a brick shit house would be
the best linebacker I would not want to um. So,
so the video is like I think, I think the
way they're pitching it is like it's a construction site
droid type thing like and so they have somebody on

(14:20):
scaffolding like hammering something in and then They're like, yup,
I need a bag of tools up here, and then
they activate the tool droid and it does some pretty
impressive stuff. You know, Yeah, I mean throwing whatever it
looked like a heavy as toolbag of maybe wrenches above

(14:41):
its head. Obviously, I don't think anybody, if you've ever
been on a construction site, you'd say, yeah, that's what
you do, Just fucking heave this bag of tools above
your heet. No, but uh yeah, it's it's got balanced,
it's got grace, and it's going to be, you know,
demanding that you show your face when it knocks on
the door to collect your bills or whatever they'll be.

(15:03):
That was powerful. I love poetry. And then hit me
right in the Don't I know it? It does? It
does seem like the Boston Dynamics team and their robot
have been listening to my criticism of them, because it's
very show offie. This thing like it doesn't just doesn't

(15:23):
just like turn. It like leaps in the air and
does a one eight um and then lands gracefully. And
then after throwing the tools up to the top scaffolding,
it does a like some complicated gymnastics flip. It involves
a spin a turn, lands, completely sticks the landing and

(15:46):
then puts its hands in the air and victory like
not even doing like the like I'm a humble gymnast thing.
We're like, oh do I did I stick the landing
and then like and I did it more landed like exactly.
It was more like a celebration after you dunked on
someone organism us whole. Now watch me do this flip. Yeah,

(16:07):
it's pretty impressive. The one thing I will say where
we talk on tomorrow's episode about the Tesla video, the
Tesla auto pilot video that Elon Musk tweeted out to
all of us in there was like no driver, that
driver is just there for legal reasons. And it turns
out we now have confirmation from somebody worked at Tesla

(16:27):
at the time that that was not the case, like
nobody was actually like remote controlling it through the turns
or anything, but they had three D mapped the exact
route it was going to take, and then somebody was
possibly controlling the accelerator and decelerator for for the self
driving car. So there are ways that you can pre

(16:50):
set a thing like Boston Dynamics Construction droid in a
like live setting where you know people are walking around
with two by four's jack tackling drills. Man, you on
the fucking robot one V one let's go boys. Yeah,

(17:11):
in no way getting caught in a bullshit position and
just doubling down until I have to fight a robot.
I do think I could beat it in a tackling drill.
What do you do? I mean like, I feel like
if you're quick, right, you like you want to slash
like the hydraulic pumps on the joints and ship. So
like my first move in any tackling drill is trying

(17:31):
to slash on destroid. What you just cut Kyle's achilles
tended with that box gunter Jack? Got it as you're
fucking droid? Uh yeah, I don't know. I mean it's
funny because when I look at it, my first thing
is how the funk am I gonna take this piece
of ship down? Yeah? But then my secondary thought is
they're not gonna leave all that shit exposed if they

(17:53):
like they know someone like me, He's like, man, just
clip the fucking hoses, like that's gonna have some like
adamantium chain mesh or some ship around it. Um. Yeah,
I was thinking like we still have to go through
the rubber exoskeleton phase of the Terminators where they looked
real stupid. Yeah, they all look like those old man
bank robber masks. But maybe they'll do adamantium chain mail.

(18:15):
That would actually be smarter, that would be but hey,
you know what we'll see we were Look, we have
the wonderful privilege of probably having to come face to
face with one of these things during the Resource Wars.
And also Andrew take to let the people know that
Andrew Tad is trending. Dude, It's well, what's wild is
a bunch of fans of his were like running through

(18:38):
Athens like chanting free Top g because I guess he
goes by Top Gangster, and like like a good amount
of people were out there trying to fucking cape for
this guy. He's a fucking sex trafficker. He's been accused
of this sex trafficking ship. He's also been saying stuff
like the Matrix is getting him, which a lot of
his like fans have also been parroting. So you know,

(19:00):
the Matrix is getting him? Is that like dumb guy
for the deep State? Basically it's like it's actually the
Matrix yea, after it's just whatever his conspiratorial explanation, which
is I'm engaged in illegal activity that may bring consequences. No,
that can't be it. It's the matrix because of what
I'm doing is cool imprisoning people. I mean, this is

(19:21):
kind of just related to what we were saying with
the justin Royland like Rick and Morty ship, Like, it's
not that everyone's gonna be like, oh, fuck Rick and Morty.
Then they'll just be like fuck what everybody's saying justin
Royland did or fun the people who said that he's
cool in my book, because I can't let go of

(19:41):
Rick and Morty because it defines my identity because we
don't have actual social groups anymore. We just have shows
that we all reference to one another to find Rick
and Morty. I'm a Rick and Morty Andrew Tate, easy
kind of guy, right, you know what I mean? And
that's they're like, okay, I understand your entire worldview, but

(20:03):
it is kind of it's disturbing to see that many
young men like, yeah, it is enter physical space to
demand this person's freedom. But so what these paras social
relationships will do to you? I guess all right, Well,
that is going to do it for us this Wednesday, January.
We are back tomorrow with the whole last episode of
the show. Until then, be kind to each other, be

(20:26):
kind to yourselves, get the vaccine, don't do nothing about
white supremacy, and we will talk to you all tomorrow.
Bye bye,
