Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hello the Internet, and welcome to this episode of the
Last Trendation of Geist. Um courtesy if Katie didn't one
of them, one of the best. Katie didn't. This is
really bringing get of a k A s and trending

(00:21):
titles phenomenal. Yeah, I honestly I would put our Who's
coming harder than sight game condition the last tradition of
foundation of Geist. Thank you for us, you know, followers
of his teaching. Yes, we appreciate the you and we
don't see that by his teachings we mean Scorsese right, No,

(00:41):
I meant jay Z. Okay, all right, let's tell the
people what is trending this afternoon. There is the COVID
nineteen Hate Crimes Act. Mm hmm yep. Just nice and easy, bill, Right,
Let's let's make sure we're creating some legislation to protect

(01:02):
the API community. Um. So what it does just you know,
many initiatives, but directing the Justice Department to look at
more pandemic related hate crimes. Um and just sort of
I don't get more information on tracking these kinds of
people in these kinds of crimes. Uh. The it passed
by a vote of ninety four to one. Oh wow.

(01:24):
Did the Josh Holly insurrection. Holly is the one no vote. Um.
And then it's also important they were like a few
people who abstained a vote. I think Rand Paul is
probably one of those people who didn't like anything. Marsha
black I'm trying to some other people weren't there as
Rand Paul, Mike Lee, and Marsha Blackburn were there. They

(01:45):
abstained from voting on this one. And then Senator Tina
Smith they weren't there, so they were absent. But that's
why it's the That's why the numbers were like that,
and what what exactly does it do? It just reviews
them and makes them expands data collection racing. Yeah, and
also just like making it clear that that's a when
someone's trying to talk about go back to your country

(02:07):
or something to do with coronavirus and you're attacking, uh,
someone in the a p I community. That's we're starting
to draw lines to be like, oh, it was just
some assault. It's like, no, this is a fucking hate crime.
You treat these attacks for like what they are and
put the resources into it. So, um, you know cool.
I'm glad that there's that there's legislation happening. But then

(02:31):
you still have people who are somehow saying no to this,
which is but that just shows you the state of
things that there's someone who's like no, honestly, Like that's
actually a good look for me. Yeah. The Ben Shapiro
tweet after the Choven verdict when um, somebody some commentators

(02:52):
said justice has been served in Shapiro quote tweeter and
was like, and we know he'd say that if the
opposite verdict had been reached, uh, which was like such
a strange It's just like they what a. I feel
like they can't even be happy with the position they've

(03:13):
chosen at this point, because that's that's dogshit, Like that's
your You're you're working with some real stinkers there, man.
Quite They're they're doing the political ideological version of painting
themselves into a corner. Yep, and they're like, oh fuck, yeah,
that's right. There's like literally we're just gonna start crawling

(03:35):
up the walls now, like fucking insects, yeah, because we
literally have no more ground to stand on. This next
one is just a headline I thought was cute. It
was on BuzzFeed. Dustin Milligan, who played the veterinarian boyfriend
on Ship's Creek. They say Dustin Milligan sweat so much
on Ship's Creek he had to have paper towels under

(03:58):
his armpits. Uh, try some fucking diapers, bro Okay, try
some diapers and then then talk to me ship. That
was what I did in seventh grade. Those disintegrated and
I never tried it again. Damn you need they just
turned to drink. They turned to glue basically, Yeah, basically,

(04:20):
just that glue in my armpits. But you know that's Jack.
That's the difference between you a chad ass America. You know,
what's your sweat is like? And then Dustin little yellow Knife, Canada, boy,
you know what I mean, I don't even a yellow Knife.
That's his place of birth, yellow Knife, Canada. That's just sounds.
So I was wondering. I thought that was like some

(04:42):
cultural reference. I wasn't. No, No, that's he's from yellow Knife, Canada.
It's the capital city of the Northwest Territories. Yeah, it's
of Great Slave Lake. Wow, Dustin what that means? M
They're a place called the North Slave Region. You know

(05:04):
Canadians like you help me understand, please quite what huh. Anyway,
but yeah, come on, get your sweat up, man, until
you're until you're putting fucking like combat field dressings there,
because you're dealing with all kinds Like it's just the
we're like, we're talking about it, like a femoral arterial laceration,

(05:24):
levels of liquids and fluids coming out of you. Right,
I went for BuzzFeed. Yeah, come on, although I guess
I'm assuming it was a thing where he would bail
it up, put it under there, get the shot, and
then take it out, so that that's the only it's
the only way in which paper towels are an advisable
solution to your to your armpit sweating problems. Right, I

(05:50):
would like a swimmers shammy, you know how like when
you're in a competitive swimmer, they don't really use towels.
They use those like hyper absorbent shinny's. Yeah, Like, couldn't
you integrate that, Like I feel like that's probably some
next level. Yeah, like do a field dressing where you
like wrap it under under your arm over the shoulder.

(06:12):
I feel like it would be tough to secure, but yeah,
maybe you know what, I just want to let the
listeners note the amount of formulating and like analysis Jack
is doing in his mind. He was saying he was
not He looked off into infinity to try and sepparatus,
and I was like, you know, he's saying this is

(06:32):
serious right now. Yeah no, there there'd be some problems
with securing it, but yeah no, but I'm wondering if
I ever tried that. Um dish towels have thrown. Well,
we've talked about that before. You just have just toweling
your back gatherendary moment too. Yeah. My grandfather, uh, while

(06:54):
he was coaching on the sidelines, he was a basketball coach,
and he had he swept through all airs of a
suit so often. They put diapers under his arm and
uh turned them to foam like it to the point
that he was freaking out the ref and foams start
coming out of his arms, out of the cuffs of
this jacket. Yeah, that's like, I don't know this. This

(07:17):
dude might be a sorcerer or suction. Earth Day is
trending Earth Earth, I mean, the big big environment really
once it is really indoctrinating the youth on this. Because
my kids have been doing a recycling ship all all
week at school I've had just about enough of that.

(07:41):
I don't know. Yeah, um, but I actually didn't know
which day. I thought it was like Earth Day all week,
but apparently today is the day where we celebrate uh,
the most vague holiday, I guess. Yeah, yeah, I mean
it it was like was a very It kicked off

(08:03):
a lot of like real regulation, you know, when it
first happened, and I think there's a lot of people
talk about now just like it's become this whole other
thing now where it was truly like from off of
the backs of that, it was like, okay, let's past
the Clean Air Act, fucking Clean Water Act, uh, put
fucking pressure on Nixon and shipped like that, and now

(08:26):
we're just like, hey, what you gotta say, girl, come
on down, all right, thank you very much. Next up
we have British Petroleum with their uh analysis how to
make Earth Day more accessible to the world's people. I
don't know. Yeah, you get all sorts of emails from
any mailing list that you're subscribed to or accidentally subscribed to. Yeah,

(08:50):
people like point out there like the absurdity because there's
like n f T s now that are dealing with
Earth Day and you're like, do you understand the mining
of crypto and the car and that that and I
think that's a lot of people, Like do people even
know what the fun this means anymore, what we're even
trying to do, or how bad the situation is. You're
just letting people know your team Earth Okay, hell yeah, bro,

(09:12):
one other team is there? I mean the team is there?
Uh O. J Simpson trending because he has said hello
Twitter world and weighed in with his opinion on the
controversial Lebron James tweet. Uh, you know someone's extremely famous

(09:34):
when they do something like and how stupid the controversies
are around some things that they uh tweet or say
like Obama most famous human being on on the planet
probably in generations, and the controversies around him. We're wearing

(09:55):
a a tan suit. Um. And with Lebron, he just tweeted, uh,
you're your next in terms of a kid, like clearly
the context was in terms of accountability around a police
officer who had shot an unarmed like not unarmed and

(10:18):
did not have a gun black child. Uh and uh
he was like pissed and here he tweeted the officer's
name or picture and said your next hashtag accountability something
along those lines, and the world fucking ended. Everybody was like,

(10:39):
what take back? Take back? Now, how does this black
man have access to speak his mind out loud in
which he's advocating for accountability. This is absurd And o J,
let me tell you something about how to blend in
with white people. Yes. Yeah, essentially, he's like, I mean,

(11:00):
I get it that he wants to have an opinion,
but you don't have to have an opinion on everything.
Um okay, I'm not black, I'm o j okay, okay, okay, okay. Thanks.
More radical thoughts from Stabby Simpson. Um yeah, Joel embiid,

(11:25):
I don't even know if he's trending, but people need
to look at this clip from from last night's UH
Sons game. Not a great game for the seventies sixers.
They continue to miss Ben Simmons uh and they lost
to the Sons. They were down three point eight seconds
to go. Uh. The uh Son at the line, I

(11:48):
think it was Chris Paul, one of the Sons, was
at the line shooting free throws and missed on purpose,
which is typically the wise thing to do because it
would seemingly be impossible to both get a rebound and
throw the ball the length of the court and make
that shot in point eight seconds. But a Joe lmb
nearly pulled it off. It was one of the wildest

(12:10):
things I've ever seen. It's more just like ridiculous because
it looks like some ship you're doing a video game,
because I really did defies the flaws of physics, where
like you're going up for a rebound and you somehow
launched a full court shot before your feet hit the ground.
Is I mean not that he was doing it on
mid air, but I've never seen someone. Look if you
just saw the release point of how he was thrown,

(12:32):
like shooting the body like that ship isn't even going
near the fucking basket and it it's like it's almost
as if he shot it too hard. You know, he
hadn't maybe been a little less velocity once it rimmed
in and out, it may have just been like settled
into the hoop. Yea. But ship, Yeah, I mean, the

(12:53):
dude is he's on some ship right now. He is, Uh,
it's underrated how strong he is. Like you you really
see how strong he is when you see like him
do something normal and it's just like injuring everybody in
his path, right, He's just so fucking big man. Anyways,
those are some things that are trending on this trending.

(13:18):
Maya Erskine shout out to my little sister, Maya Erskine,
and she just got cast in the new Obi Wan
series on Disney Plus that was announced and her brother
and I were so excited because we're using this to say,
this is the closest will ever be to being in
anything to do with Star Wars. Shout out to you, Maya.
That's huge even Yeah, exactly, keep keep doing you uh

(13:42):
and make us proud, and I will try and find
a way to be on that set and I will
embarrass you. And if anybody hasn't seen PM fifteen, what
are you doing all of it? What are you doing
with your Like it's on Hulu, go check it out.
That is going to do it for this Thursday afternoon.

(14:03):
We're back tomorrow with the whole last episode of the show.
Until then, be kind to each other, be kind to yourselves,
wear a mask, wash your hands, don't do nothing about
white su Premnessey, and we'll talk to you all tomorrow.
