Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hello the Internet, and welcome to this very special episode
of trend Oregony onwards there probably Okay, I'm Jack, that's Miles.
I don't know where I am at any given moment.
I was gonna say we should explore that a little bit.
When you say probably, uh so Uh. A few years back,
(00:25):
I went on a camper trip with my family around
ore again. Uh, and I don't remember much of it.
Oh God, no, I I just don't remember where we went.
But I think we went to trend Or again for sure.
Down there that's right up air up air now a
(00:45):
lot of Oregans. An interesting place. There's a lot of
very very different from town to town. Um say that again,
but first we're gonna talk about what's trending. I don't
know why I said, but first, I think I'm still
in a regular show mode. That's embarrassing. I feel like
(01:06):
an idiot. Uh uh, Miles, Yes, PS five is trending. Yeah,
because the are those just random numbers? Letter? I think
public school fiblic School five in New York City. They are,
they are right, there are something's going on now PlayStation five.
(01:27):
They've began to They've rolled out some of the specifics
the specifications and hardware details of the next console that
hit me with some is a holiday season. It would
be this holiday season. Uh is when it's gonna come out.
But they're saying, okay, Jack, hold onto your butts now,
getting ready for this. Okay, we're talking. It's featuring co
(01:51):
Stom full of core am d ZEN two CPU clocked
at three point five giga hurts variable frequency, and the
customed GPU based on a m d s r d
n A to architecture hardware that promises ten point to
eight terror flops and thirty six compute units clocked at
two point to three gigga hurts, also variable frequency. Okay,
and it also does have sixteen gigabytes of g d
(02:13):
d R six ramp and a custom eighty five gigabyte
solid state hard drive that Sony has previously promised and
will finally give us some super fast loading teach solid state.
That's the only thing I can remember that, I mean, yeah, look,
I couldn't even remember a single thing of the all
(02:35):
the ship you were talking. I mean, look, if you're talking,
if you're compared to PS four, it's like blowing a
lot of stuff out of the water. Like PS four
one gigabyte would load in twenty seconds. Now with PS
five two point five or two gigabytes will load in
point to seven seconds. Okay, so we're turning the heat
at babe. That's what I've been looking for exactly, waiting,
(02:59):
waiting patiently for this thank you PlayStation. Yeah. Um, but
I think well there they will be. I think potentially
support for a K eight K gaming, which wow, r
I p my eyeballs and my wallet if the global
recession doesn't destroy that first um and four K gaming
(03:21):
at a twenty hurds that's important. Also three D audio
for like very immersive sound, but is so does eight
K audio change? That's video a K Does a K
video change things that? Like are the graphics so good
that you need eight K as opposed to four K?
(03:43):
I mean that's that's a that's a great debate people
are having based on how how much you can get
out of your I mean I look at I look
at full blown four K content like on display, and
I'm like, yeah, this is fine, like not like nothing
will ever compare to when ten D h D first
(04:04):
started being broadcast on TV, and I was like, what
the funk is this? This? When we get into like
four K. I'm like, damn, that's Chris. But never I mean,
I don't know if I want to see a movie
like that. There's just certain levels of detail that you
don't need. So yeah, I mean it all depends. You know.
I don't but I'm sure you know eight K gang
(04:24):
will come from me. But at the at the moment,
K need for I'll never forget watching the movie. I
think it was Secretariat on like it was too high deaf,
and you could, like it just looked like you were
watching people up close in like a high school production
of a play, because like the makeup was not done
(04:46):
to that level that it just looked so weird. You
can like see the the wigs. You could. It almost
felt like have you ever like gotten too high and
watched a movie and you're like, this is all fake?
Everything is so fake. I mean I was with you
up until that part. I have gotten too high when
I watched a movie. But my next thought wasn't this
(05:09):
is all fake? It's also fake? Man? That's that ain't
the real Secretariat. That's just an a horse. Yeah, that's
just an actor and a bunch of horse makeup. Man
mander Bindes is pengrant. Uh, pregnant, pregnant, pregnant, Yeah, isn't
(05:36):
I thought they deleted a pregnancy announcement from social media.
Uh wow, somebody's gonna have to talk to Jamie Loft
to she just sent it to our group thread. I mean,
but now there, But then it was deleted, bit says
baby in the making. But then her fiance Paul Michael
(05:57):
deleted their posts. I don't know, okay, I don't you know.
You're up here down and you're up here down right now,
and we're never on solid ground right now. Uh, kung
flu is trending because that is a racist thing that
people are calling coronavirus. Yeah, even in the White House.
(06:17):
People in the fucking White House are sing White House
Aid said that ship. And I mean, I think I
feel like people Asian American people are already feeling like
self conscious and like, you know, people are already saying
racist ship to them, and with the endorsement of the president,
it's going to get even worse. So I don't know,
(06:40):
call your friends, Uh, ask them how they're doing. Who
are dealing with this ship? I don't know what else
to do. It's a very helpless feeling. Yeah, Utah earthquake
is trending. Um, because there is a five point something
(07:01):
five point seven five point seven magnitude earthquake. That's a
big hand. Yeah, that that's that's nothing to laugh about.
Said the largest sinse n knocked out a bunch of power. Um.
So you know, on adding this on top of a
global pandemic is uh really bad. So you know, all Utahs,
(07:24):
I gang you know. I know there's a group of
you all out there. I hope you're doing okay. I
hope you're all the even with the power off and
the chaos around you, that you you find some safety,
some peace throughout this too. Seriously. UH, and Defense Production
Act is trending. So this is something the White House
(07:46):
isn'tvoking too. Basically, get medical equipment up in UH in
production as as fast as possible, but it's not too
specific about how they're going to accomplish that. Yeah, we
just know right now we're operating in a situation where
clearly everyone's saying, we don't have enough hospital beds. We
need more protective equipment, we need more ventilators, we need
(08:09):
more of this. You know, a lot of this stuff
very quickly. Because the projections for when a lot of
the cases are going to really hit are coming fairly soon.
Um So, through this, I mean it's usually used during
like you know, wartime, Like they've done it. They've done
it a lot in the past, but like I think
the first time may have been the Korean War. I
don't want to fully uh say that with authority, but
(08:33):
I believe it was during the Korean War. But essentially
it's made to facilitate, like just to ensure that businesses
cooperate with the government to make the things that they need,
because it's no longer about like what the business needs,
it's about what the comfort with the country needs and
what our emergency needs are. So like one of the
first parts of the companies basically after they're like required
(08:54):
uh to accept and like prioritize any kind of contracts
they get from the government and to prioritize any of
those services, materials, whatever they have that will you know,
help whatever the national effort is. And then another provision
is about providing financial measures like loans and loan guarantees
to make sure that materials are produced so they can
(09:14):
actually get everything moving quickly. Um So it's really just
about doing as much as possible to accelerate the manufacturing
of of these like very very needed, very essential items
because we are not prepared, and the administration you know,
did as as everything they could almost to make this
as difficult as possible now based on all the cuts
(09:35):
they made. So that's the new reality we're dealing with.
I mean, you know, the one benefit I feel like
Americans are good at is doing their homework at the
last minute. So maybe we can pull it off just
somehow by the skin of our teeth. But we will
see um. But it's definitely something that everyone needs to
kind of be aware of, which is why you know,
(09:57):
all of the self quarantining and social distancing stuff is
so important because it's not not just about how sick
you can get or the impact to your social life.
It's the impact to people who are immunocompromised, who have
underlying health conditions things like that, and if they are
sick and they have to face a reality where they
go to a hospital that cannot see them, that is
what we call completely fucked up and horrific. Yeah. Uh.
(10:20):
People in the zeke Gang reddit thread were talking about
just you know, people seeing people who are just terrible
it's so terrible about social distancing and standing too close
to one another and just not really getting it. You know,
people who for their job are working in grocery stores,
(10:41):
and you know people are just lining up like at
any any other ordinary day. All right, Well, stay safe
out there, guys. Uh. You know, do you do your
part to trend slow, slow the spread down? Uh? And
you know, take care of each other, take care of
your cells. Let us know in the reddit thread if
(11:04):
they're good ways you've come up with to help one
another out, to help your community out. Also, let us
know what was the other thing we asked for in
the activities maybe also let us know any activities anything
you're binging? Uh? And oh yeah, and also any good
place to go forward news that that's the other thing
(11:27):
that just the news is fucking terrible at their job
right now, um, all right, uh, or at least some
of the news is terrible at their job. All Right.
That's gonna do it for this afternoon. We will be
back tomorrow with another episode of the podcast. We'll talk
to you then. Bye bye.
