Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hello the Internet, and welcome to this episode of trend
and Fraser is back. Baby, I'm Jack. That's Miles. Trends
is back starting in the whale at the Toronto Film Festival.
Can we tell them what's trending? Why should we we do?
We're waiting with bated breath. Villaneueva this trend dingy, Yeah,
(00:26):
Alex sheriff Um, Yeah, Alex, this trending because he's like
doing straight up, open, openly um authoritarian police day ship
and uh executing a search warrant on the homes of
people who are critical of him, including Sheila cuol Um
(00:50):
and another one on Patty Ghiggins. Yeah, made up name,
but is a real person from the oversight committee. Uh,
And like I think one of one of the warrants
was like blank. They're just like yeah, we don't but
it's like yeah, we can come in. You're like, what
(01:11):
are you taking? They're like, I don't know. It's odd Higgins.
They like towed her car, they took the servers from
her nonprofit, so like you can't even like run right now.
It's just very you know, a lot of people they're
saying like these are like the other investigations where a
felony may have been committed in or around near or
by the side of this place. Uh, while many others
(01:33):
are just I think very plainly connecting the dots and seeing,
like you know clearly when you're doing investigations into deputy
gangs and stuff. Maybe this is this is what the
fallout looks like. Um Brett Farve is trending because he's
involved in some shady texts welfare scam. Yeah, in in Mississippi,
(01:57):
it was like it's him getting sucking money for his
daughter's volleyball team and like Southern Mississippi so they can
have a new of like volleyball stadium. But it was
like money coming out of like the funds for like
like people who are in need. Yeah, there's this like
this exchange with like Brett Farve having a conversation with
(02:19):
this person who's running this nonprofit and he said, quote,
if you were to pay me, is there any way
the media can find out where it came from and
how much Nancy knew? No, we have never had that
information publicized. Understand you being uneasy about that though. Let's
see what happens on Monday with the convention with some
of us folks at Southern Maybe we'll click with them hopefully. Okay, thanks, Wow,
just got off the phone with Phil Bryant, that's the governor.
(02:42):
He is on board with us. We will get this done. Awesome.
I needed to hear that for sure. Great news. Fraud
Yeah yeah, um charged with like thirteen counts I think
of fraud or something. Yeah. Yeah, it's fun wild. So
you know this is uh they have like a sand
(03:04):
facility or something. It's like so wild one again, this
is like money that was meant for people in need,
and it's like you ink redirect that. Hey man, my
alma mater where my daughter goes, could love some more volleyball. Shit. Yeah,
need indoor sand volleyball training facility. Um, you got a
(03:25):
more aggressive fuck you Well, what the money? You go
to an indoor sand hut? You know I was not
on board until I heard that that it was a
sand hut. Yeah. Anyway, So look you got the former
governor who got Brett Farve and this lady funneling millions
of dollars in welfare funds to make a sand hut
(03:48):
for volleyball. Amtrack is trending. They're shutting down some long
distance trains and the impact of the impending rail strike. Yeah,
we'll talk about that more on tomorrow show. But I
mean it's for something that it's amazing how little coverage
there is about strikes coming up until it's too late
(04:11):
for like the business owners and a right mane of
these guys doing. Don't fucking tell people that they're being
cooked in delivery trucks, don't fucking tell people that they're scheduling.
Regime here is so fucked up that people literally don't
really know when they ever have days off to have
doctors appointments, and they work eighty to ninety hour weeks,
(04:31):
don't fucking talk. And then when it's they're getting serious
about striking, all the pieces come out. Oh, this couldn't
come at a worse time for inflation if they strike.
How about getting mad at the fucking people who are
causing these workers do not want to work, right, But anyway,
that's yet massive massive disruption, massive disruption, make they stay
(04:56):
on Bloomberg. But Congress can step in and and not
on not for the workers. They can step in on
the side of the railroads because of the way the
labor lawns are structured with the railroads. So uh yeah,
you'll hear more about that tomorrow. But it's just if
this is something that would obviously there hasn't been anything
like this since like a massive like this kind of
(05:18):
mass railroad strike. Yeah, and just the worst possible time
for this, guys. If you could put it off until
we get inflation and check, that would be great, gang
exactly bad for mid terms, just gives a Republican something
to say. Um, so Ken's star is trending for for
(05:40):
younger listeners who for whom that might not be a
household name. I'm just gonna read from this Fox News
headline to tell you who he is. Ken Starr was
a historic legal figure and a truly decent human being, right,
That's what I mean. That's basically that true covers. Okay,
(06:04):
he was so First of all, he was the person
in charge of the Clinton investigation that like dragged out
the Lewinsky scandal and just you know went hard after
Clinton despite being like all about public decency, you know,
really dug in on detailed descriptions of blow jobs and
(06:28):
the put them front and center in the news, and
then went on to be the president of Baylor at
a time when Baylor was actively covering up sexual assaults
and you know, sex crimes on their campus just repeatedly
during his tenure. So and what what were the words
(06:48):
they used again? Filed a historic legal figure and a
truly decent human being. Wow, they gotta go on in man,
because yeah, when you actually describe things that have actually occurred,
you'd be like, what this fucking guy really a truly
decent human being? Very strange, very strange way, you know,
(07:14):
approach at a feeling. They might not be totally on
the up and up um on that one, but yeah
he was. He was at Baylor from two to two sixteen.
And it's uh, it's dark, It is dark. What was
going on there? All right, let's take a quick break.
We'll come back. We got some Aaron Judge news. We
got some serial news. Uh podcast. Yeah it's not serial,
(07:39):
my favorite serial, the podcast. We'll be right and we're back.
And Aaron Judge is a baseball player for the UM
(07:59):
and he he hits the home run uh baseball real
far and he's gonna he he might be hitting home
run baseball sixty over sixty in one season, UM, which
would be the most ever by a Yankee since the
(08:20):
Roger Maris and uh, babe, ruth. Uh you know, damn,
guy hit a lot of home runs and it's a
big deal. Yeah, I do get about this. I can't.
I can't. I can't help myself. But care about guy
hit the guy hit the hit the home runs. Hey man,
(08:41):
you gotta get to seventy four, fam That's all I know.
Right then we're talking, Yeah, it is kind of over
in terms of you do better than the guys on steroids.
Then I will wait, and I mean, as there he's like,
he's clean, right, there's no like allegations about him far
as we know. Yeah, I mean it was there a
(09:03):
time when people were like suspect, like being shady about him.
Not that maybe it was like, well, I don't think
there's ever going to be a time in baseball where
people see somebody who's all of a sudden hitting you know,
twenty more home runs and everybody else in the major
leagues and aren't like, wait a second unless the player
(09:24):
truly looks like ship like baby, which you know, which
would be so hilarious though, like if you're like, you know,
I still take steroids. Though this was a wild working out,
but like I feel it, I don't know, Um, That's
probably how I would do it. Working out Big Poppy
like was one of those home run hitters who just
(09:46):
kind of looked like he was a big dude. But
I think there are allegations that he was. He had
some some of those cream it was. It was allergy
medicine that I used for my nasal spray. All right, Okay,
So I bummed a cigarette from someone on my way
to enlisting in the military and that he worked at
(10:10):
he worked at Balco. He had it all over his hands.
That person happened to have, uh handed me a cigarette
that was pure cocaine, and that is a that is
the Hunter Biden guy was smoking. The guy was smoking
a human growth hormones cigarette by my car, and it
waffed it in. I think that's how it happened. But yeah,
(10:32):
we don't know, and probably won't for many years if
he's cleaned. But um, he's one of the great clean
baseball players of all time or a below average steroids
that's not true even even for steroids. Ye never never
(10:54):
swing that lumber around, you know what I'm saying. I'm
swinging the timbers man, I see you. I mean, the
only thing I'm focused on is the National League West,
Like when I ever checked in on the Baseball's So yeah,
sure have actually been like kind of falling apart posts
the All Star break, so because you know, we clinched,
So yeah, the Dodger, the Dodgers clinched head a celebration
(11:17):
and then somebody was like, actually we did the math wrong.
You guys didn't clinch, but that they clinched again. Dodgers
are on a tear um cereal is trending. S E
R I A L. Grady violations say that they Okay,
(11:41):
so I was just reading a random paragraph from the
news story, but it seems like basically adding on is
going to get out, get another case, I mean, get
another trial. Yeah, but it's it's looking very good for
him based on so what we're seeing Baltimore. The Baltimore
State's Attorney's office and his attorneys found that there were
(12:04):
two more suspects and that the prosecutors didn't tell that
information to his defense attorneys in the original case. And
that was what is known as like a Brady violation.
So that is why they're they the prosecutors are they
have a filed emotion to vacate his conviction. Wow, so
what they're saying, quote that this is from them. Quote.
(12:25):
The state's Brady violations robbed the defendant of information that
would have bolstered his investigation and argument that someone else
was responsible for the victim's death. These concerns are highlighted
by the new information regarding alternative suspects and new evidence
regarding the reliability of critical evidence at trial has caused
the state to lose faith in the integrity of the convictions. Right, Um,
(12:46):
I don't know, man, it's eight years man, since it
didn't come podcast eight years man, I mean obviously he's
been in there since two thousands, are you I guess?
I guess that happened so far before we even did
this show that we never really discussed. But do you
do you have a strong feeling of that time. I
(13:06):
was like, oh Ja. At the time, I was like,
oh J did that ship? I didn't either, none. Yeah,
And then but then I was saying, you are off, Mike.
I was like, J has been so shady that I'm like,
somehow he's so shady. I'm like I can't even rely
on him because I think at one point he's like, yeah,
I may have that something like was being real murky
about it. Well, Jay knew where the body was, and
(13:31):
if that's the case, it's either j did it or
add Noon did it, because Adnan says he was with
Ja all that day and like I've like gone to
be like okay, so somebody has to have like some
theories as to how that happened or something. But like
all of the explanations, even like the Reddit threads about this,
they're like Adnan doesn't have to explain that that's not
(13:53):
his problem, that Jay knew where the body was, and
it's like yeah, but like we're trying to figure out
what happened here the thing is so there's still like
there's still an investigation, like that's ongoing. So that's why
they haven't said who these people are. But they did
say one of the suspects had threatened Hayman Lee, saying
quote he would make her disappear and he would kill her. Wow. Oh,
(14:16):
and that's one of the Brady violation. That's what they
kept kept back because you know, you know, and again
it's like what when Aliamy was on talking about how
fucking backwards ship can be, when someone was like, don't
tell him that ship and we see this all the
time when you see cops like who are just getting
so focused, Like there's countless documentaries and true crime things
about where the cops like, that's our guy and they're like,
(14:39):
uh the d N And I said, that's our guy.
I'm not sucking trying to do more work, man. It's
it's it's enough. There's enough ship there to make him
look bad enough that we can get this conviction. Plus
I'll keep them in an interrogation room to the point
they break down and just cop to it so they
can go home. But they won't go home. They go
to jail. It's brilliant. I'm a cop, um, but truly,
if somebody has an explanation for the how januinere the
(15:01):
body was, if it wasn't him, or it wasn't at none,
it's like, so it's been so fucking long too, I'm like, oh, yeah,
what happened? I just at this point, just bring the up,
bring the next the two point no podcast that would
just catch me up to date. And finally, Lauren Bobert
had a debate over the weekend. Um, I don't know,
(15:25):
it's not good. This this just weird. She's so like
she's one of those people who can never acknowledge they
don't know what they don't know and just goes in
strong into arguments. And this is just one of the
questions that her, the person she's running against, was just
like asking about repealing the nineteenth Amendment, which is about
(15:46):
women suffrage. Uh, and then she talks just listen to this.
Then he switches to ask about like abortion access. Madam Fresh,
I'm not Nancy Pelosi. Do you think we should repeal
the nine? I think should repeal the nineteenth Amendment? Excuse me?
Do you think we should repeal the nineteenth Amendment of
the United States Constitution? Now? Good? Should there be a
(16:11):
should there be an exception for rape, incest or the
life of a mother when it comes to women's healthcare?
And talk about secure and freedom? Just going on, No,
I'm you wanted most people have a pretty quick answer
if they want to repeal the nineteenth Amendment or not,
so they don't have anything to do with each other.
But this was just sort of the pace of this
like debate, which is wild because I guess over there
(16:32):
like you can ask each other questions. Because then her opponent,
Adam Fresh, asked this question. She sounds like sounds like
a straight up disc through shade, because I'm like, why
can't we have more debates like this? Do you promise
to serve your full time if re elected, even if
your dream job of becoming a Fox News commentator comes
(16:53):
up prior to the end of your second term. I
don't think that's a dream job. Dream job is actually
just being a mom of four boys and raising my goats. Um,
that's my biggest dream. Uh holler boom, got him. It's
a normal size caller, asshole, find a new angle. Um. Yeah.
(17:16):
So it was just like all this, and then she
kept talking about like Nancy Pelos. She kept saying, talking
as if Nancy Pelosi was there, like she would start
off things like Nancy Pelosi's running a con game. Well
you know Nancy, but like somebody the super cut of
her saying that, that's why in that first clip Adam
for She's like, I'm not Nancy Pelosi, just so you know,
let's talk about me. The person's running anyway, so just
more weird. Oh. Then there was like another line she
(17:38):
had yesterday where she said she was reading like from
a Bible verse that had to raise wanton violence in it,
and she said what's wanton violence? That sounds whoa. Yes,
she was very like, I don't know about that now,
interesting a wanton huh, well, that sounds like she kind
of like riffs on it a little to trying to
(18:00):
like wrap her brain up around it. Uh huh. Yeah,
violence committed with a wantone That sounds hey, I don't know, man,
like a not effective weapon. Anyways, didn't you just mention
somebody saying that like in yesterday's episode. Yeah, I was saying.
My friend was on a call. It was just so funny.
My friend was on a call and he's like, this
person is consistently saying wanton violence over and over in
(18:22):
this presentation, and then that thing came up and I
said it to him. I was like, hey, man, she's
not alone. Miles is not alone. You are not definitely.
Um alright, well, those are some of the things that
are trending on this Wednesday. We are back tomorrow with
the whole last episode of this show to celebrate the
birthday of Prince Harry. Thank you shout up, har um massive, no, no, man,
(18:50):
it's about Harry. He's going through a lot of he
doesn't even have a last name. Um, all right, back then,
until then, be kind to each other, be kind to yourself,
get the vaccine, don't do nothing about white supremacy, and
we'll talk you out tomorrow. Bye bye, m m hm
