Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hello the Internet, and welcome to this episode of Trendicino Farms,
little local reth for California. Right, that's only a California
sandwich shop. I don't know. Yeah, and it's like not
even a place I love going to know, it's like
one of those places like I feel like gets catered
and they're like, yeah, we're getting Mendicino Farms. I'm like,
all right, Yeah, it's interesting how that happens. They just like,
(00:25):
did they have an in with every like office manager
in the greater Los Angeles area because there is probably
a majority of the catered lunches I've had were Mendocino
Farms in my time working out here. Yeah, and it's fine,
that's fine, Fine, I'm jack that over there. Well that's
(00:45):
Miles and these are the things that are trending on
this made the fourth which um Miles, may the fourth
be with you? Um bank finally got it and on
that week. So I'm gonna take that a disrespect. What's
(01:06):
up from? Uh? I think four year old virgin I
think part saying that to him, he's that means So
I'm gonna take that is disrespect. Uh Well, ray J
is trending. Um, Yeah, you know one of our favorite
uh sunglasses sales, sunglass Icon Raycon earbuds. You know, you know,
(01:31):
the the entrepreneurial god. Yeah, he's come out and basically
saying that, you know, the Kim Kardashian sex tape was
always a business decision between him, Kim Kardashian, and Chris Jenner.
And you know, I think most people figured that. I
feel like that was always the thing. People are like, wow,
the lengths Chris General would go putting her like, you know,
(01:53):
figuring out a way to distribute her own daughters sex tape, etcetera.
But this is him like really saying that, like I can't.
I have to let you know iFly from my mouth,
I didn't leak anything because I was for a long time.
Everyone's like, damn, ray J leaked the sex tape. Uh.
And he says like you know that affected him or whatever.
But I just um gossip b mess. Yeah. Do we
(02:14):
trust this as a source of information because I do
feel like every once in a while there's ray J
news that seems to I don't know, he he seems
to know how to like stay in the in the
trending sell because the whole reason why it wasn't like
leaked is because it was an actual porn tape. It wasn't.
(02:36):
It wasn't like something that like was you know, like
a rogue upload to a video site, like an actual
porn distributor put the thing out and illegally wouldn't be
putting out like unauthorized revenge porn, like permissively distributed it.
So that's where people like, Okay, so what's really going on?
And apparently the way he said it was he had
offhandedly mentioned it to Kim and she was like, that's
(02:59):
a great idea. Let me talk to my mom about it.
How just such an interesting dynamic to your mom with
that and be like, Ray had an interesting idea. Yeah,
at a dinner. Okay, Mom, I have an idea. I
(03:19):
can't take you guys to Cabo again. No, no, no,
I'm gonna Regie wants to put out our sex tape
and we can make money and I can no longer
be known as the person in the background of photos
with paras Hilton. And she just put down her drink
and she's like, that's fucking brilliant, Kim, fucking brilliant. Anyways, Uh,
(03:40):
shout out to the triumvirate that came up with that
UM certainly succeeded a thousand empires. Basically can shout out
to Pete Davidson, whose look I had missed at the
met gala. But he's uh he has morphed into a
different human being and uh yeah interesting, just interesting. Googled
(04:05):
Pete Davidson black Hose, Like, hold on, I'm sorry to
see something here. I'm like, oh wait, he's just he
maybe the jip. Chris Jenner was like, you look a
little pasty, Pete. Yeah, just get a little It's just
something maybe just like a foundation with a little bit
of tint in. It might help you. Chappelle is trending.
(04:26):
He had a show at Hollywood Bowl as part of
Netflix as a joke because Netflix is like the number
one naming comedy, uh, and they have this big like
comedy festival that's happening. It sounded like a very cool lineup.
You had your Chris Rock, your Jon Stewart, your Earthquake,
(04:48):
and your Dave Chappelle. Um. But somebody ran up on
stage and tried to tackle him um and apparently had
a fake gun with the with the knife inside it.
It was a gun that shoots the knife. Maybe, Yeah,
it sounds like the ship that like, you know, when
(05:08):
kids are playing they're like, not really, but my gun
shoots knife And that's um, just hearing the details. But
I'm sure it's a a serious weapon. The police are
saying that the assailant is going to be charged with
a felony. I don't know. The whole thing felt weird,
and yeah, I mean the wild Part two is after
that that he was attacked. The first thing Dave Chappelle
(05:30):
quipped was saying that, oh, I think it was a
trans man which just came after me, like just doubling
down on that ship that was being quoted because I
think the run up not shockingly to anybody who's been
familiar with his work over the past couple of years,
the run up to that was him talking about how
he needed more security because of how much, uh, the
(05:51):
trans community hates him. And then somebody tackled him and
he equipped it was a trans man. Uh. And that
is a quote that's on the front page of the
Drudge Report suggesting so it just says Chappelle attacked on
stage at h wood Ball it was a trans man
(06:12):
in quotes. Wow, that okay, and then you know, it's
then Jamie Foxx comes out and it's like, you know,
talking about how Dave Propel is a genius and we
need to protect our performers, which I do think. I
don't think anybody should be attacked on stage well performing anything. Um,
(06:32):
but it's just the whole like normalizing of some seriously
right wing shit um by of you know, people whose
whose work I grew up really liking and respecting is
is pretty demoralizing, and uh, you know it's happening, and
(06:55):
I think kind of people are just like, yeah, but
it's I don't know it, it's it's a fucking bummer,
and it's just, you know, it seems like with success
in entertainment, wherever, you just get to a point where
you're so you're so insulated from stuff you don't even
know what's going on really half the time. And whatever,
(07:17):
it's so many, so many Will Smith did this takes
right now, like and then we fucking go to the
next That was another joke I think Chris Rock said
was that Will Smith or I think it was Will Smith.
That seems like an actual joke, whereas the it was
a transman thing just feels like weird. It's weird. Um.
(07:43):
J d Vance is trending. J d Vance, author of
Hillbilly Elegy. Um, who was sort of flatlining as a
candidate for um Republican uh and the Republican Prime Mary
for the Ohio Senate seat that is open, and then
(08:05):
he got the Trump bump blessing. Yeah, Trump blessed him,
and people are like, Trump's back, Trump's a kingmaker. Um.
I think he was also blessed by Peter Teal, who
is a billionaire. And we live in a oligarchy, so
that also might have been helpful to his fortunes as
(08:27):
a candidate. Oh well, good good luck. J d Um,
I go. I mean, although it sounds like just based
on everything, Trump was just too obsessed with, um, the
guy who was who's also in that Senate race, John
Josh Mandel's sex style. Sex He's like, isn't that fucking weird?
(08:49):
Like there's there were like more articles talking about how
much Trump was discussing this this guy in his like
sex life. Um, very wild race, very wild race. We'll
see where yeah, Um, all right, let's take a quick break.
We'll be right back and we're back. Uh. And I
(09:20):
have been watching a lot of John Morant over the
past twenty four hours to help me deal with my sanity.
That has been a small bright spot in my life.
Jaw Morant, who we talked about a lot on our
NBA show. Have we talked about the fact that we
have an NBA show called Myles and Jack got Matt.
(09:41):
I don't think so or Rant ever because the first
time people here. But he is a third year point
guard who defies gravity and years most improved, Right, he
got most Improved this year? Did he? That's interesting? I
think so. Yeah. I mean that's probably true that he
was the most improved. It's just too um and you
(10:02):
know he was already very, very good. Yeah, it's like
you went from Waterboy too superstar playing against Jordan Pool,
who went from being in the D League last year
to being, you know, one of the leading contributors to
Golden State. But you know, I can't I can't argue
with anybody getting that award. I find the whole NBA
(10:24):
Awards season stuff very boring because I don't know, it's
like arguing between like very a bunch of very worthy
candidates and then it's the only thing that happens is
like you start hearing people come in with takes like takedowns,
negative takes about like how good this guy actually sucks
(10:47):
there averaging like okay, um, But anyways, John put up
seven um and just like took over in a way
that again reminded me of that series where Lebron just
singlehandedly decided that he was going to beat the defending
champion Detroit Pistons or you know, I don't know if
(11:08):
they were defending champions that year, but they were close
to having won a title, and he just like can't
be stopped on offense, which is pretty fun to see.
Did you watch the game? Yeah, yeah, I watched it. Uh,
you know, the fourth quarter was rough for the Warriors,
but again, I don't want any easy series, is especially
(11:30):
I've got just I'm you know, I said before, I'm like, yeah,
we'll see where the Grizzlies go. And this was sort
of the point where I'm like, Okay, this is a
test and I'm just curious to see what what the
results of this test will be. But I have a
feeling Golden State may have the edge just looking at
the players there. Yeah, yeah, they're pretty good. Um. And
(11:51):
then also trending, uh, this morning was JJ Reddick, who
you know, former NBA sharpshooter who said a thing that
I think is on a lot of people's minds on
ESPN this morning and somebody was talking about how like
Draymond needs to shut up and like, you know, just
play basketball. And JJ Reddick was pretty you know, eloquent
(12:17):
and persistent and telling that guy to shut the funk
up the way that I really appreciate it because it
has become like there's a bleeding over into reality of
like the social media tone of you know, just being like, nah,
funk that guy. He sucks like that this guy stinks,
(12:38):
like he's a loser, and the players like really get
abused a lot. And you know, the point J. J
Reddick made was that he like he plays the way
that he talks and like it's all it's a group
package and like for people to be like just shut
up and play is you know, dismissive and missing the point. Also,
(13:01):
he was like, you know, that's how a lot of
people who watch Fox News feel and like you may
be right that like there are some people who feel
like that. I don't think you should be giving voice
to it on like a show that's covering this and
I don't know it was it was a like somebody
actually said something saying on ESPN for the first time
(13:22):
in uh memory. Yeah. Also forget that that Dylan Brooks
foul on Gary Payton. I don't think it fractured his elbow.
He did. Yeah, oh ship it was it was it
was really it was. It was pretty that was that
was messed up to watch. Um. Yeah, there's been some
(13:44):
dirty play that That was another trend that we've talked about.
I think before there there's been some dirty play, especially
on people who are defensive specialists like Alex Carusoe, Matisse,
Thyble and now Gary Payton. The second it's like they
realize that, uh, they're not as protected because but they
(14:06):
also have like ways to swing games in major ways. Anyways,
over educated is trending because uh, representative of Matt get
Matt Gets or Gates is I'll just read directly from
I think it's on the Hill. Representative Matt Gates is
(14:26):
facing backlash after questioning how many over educated, underloved women
have participated in protests supporting abortion rights. After a draft
ruling from the Supreme Court showed that the benches poised
rollback rov Wade m Hum. Yeah, look, it's it's just
it's it's all, it's all unmasked misogyny, you know. Yeah,
(14:49):
that's that's again. It's the every day it's just like
no that the platforms, literally, the GOP website is just
gonna be like yo, funck off non insists heat white people. Yeah,
funk out of here. Uh. And if you want anything else, like,
if you think there's anything called like equality, get out
of here. Um. Yeah. And I think the end of
(15:10):
that too, was he goes on to be like, uh,
the over educated, lonely women who will like go home
to a microwave dinner with their cats, like this very
just stupid um depiction of what he believes somebody who
is disturbed by the rolling back of human rights like
with that, responses so, yeah, and this is you know,
(15:34):
lots of allegations, charges for sexually predatory behavior, actual trafficking
of minors, if the if the base is interested in
those charges at all, But again they aren't because it's
all about cognitive dissonance. And that's just a smear job
on the guy. Yeah. So again, we don't live in
(15:54):
a representative democracy. We live in a kleptocracy. And an oligarchy.
So doesn't we live in we live in a cleptocracy
and oligarchy in the shape of a ship post on
Twitter and the l A p D is trending. What
are they? What are they getting up to? L A
is worst are at it again. They were beating up
protesters downtown UH during a rally against the overturning of
(16:20):
Roe v. Wade UH. And you know, you got the
Department of Homeland Security police cars showed up, started working
with people. There's there's a lot of videos of this
and then you know the media doing its thing again
that men have been the l A times. One of
them is just being like protests LAPD and protesters clash downtown.
(16:40):
Remember this from l A protesters clash with police at
Perching Square uh four NBC four l A p D
officer injured in downtown l A protest. CBS to l
A p D officers hurt after downtown l A March
for Reproductive Right. So they're doing their job making YEA. Yeah, Hey,
(17:01):
I got to protect the people that are the class
traders that brutalize others to protect private property right. And
you know this is there's all kinds of stuff, and
they're like, there are people doing vandalism. Like one person
tagged a bus stop with google l A s D
Gangs And yes, do google l A s D gangs,
uh to find out about sheriff deputy gangs in Los Angeles.
(17:24):
But yeah, you know, carrying more water for the police. Um, well,
you know, for all intents and purposes, all the activists
they're like, they couldn't have been more peaceful. But you know,
the second year in physical space and they show up
with their shields and stuff. You know that they're just
bust people's heads and get them out of the fucking
way truly. Yeah, because the l A p D is
(17:47):
like the main source for any reporting that happens in
l A. So they but it just like doesn't pass
the very base the most basic logic test of like
people who show up with like guns and batons and
riot gear are the only two people who were injured
in in this like crackdown one, Like you can see
(18:11):
videos of them assaulting people like that. That's what we're
gonna go with, um and the answer, yeah, hell yeah, yeah,
it's it's really something uh so yeah, or I don't know,
just watching again people fighting for human rights equality police
(18:34):
show up because that's really bad. It's really bad that
that's happening. Umo, what else you gotta store? What else
you got in store for us? Hopefully hopefully some good news. Yeah,
that's what I'm that's what I'm. I'm ready for that.
Come on, good news. There we go. All right, Well,
(18:55):
those are things that are trending on this one, May
the fourth. We are back tomorrow with all the last
episode of the show. Until then, be kind to each other,
be kind to yourselves, to get the vaccine. Don't do
nothing about white supremacy. Uh, find a way to support
the reproductive right of women. Uh. And we will talk
(19:18):
to you all tomorrow. Bye bye m
