Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hello the Internet, and welcome to this episode of zyto
Dark Trendy. I believe that his zero Dark thirty courtesy
of old Greg. I'm Jack O'Brien. That's Miles of Gray. Uh.
And this is what's trending. Miles, it's Monday. Is that right? Clue? Yeah,

(00:22):
I think that's right. That's what we'll call it. John
Lewis has been trending for the past three four days
since he passed. It was announced that he died after uh,
you guys recorded the trends of Friday. So yeah, I
mean he you know, he was going through pan you know,
it's just a fighting pancreatic cancer. Uh. He's just it's

(00:46):
one of the you know, one of the few people
who's like I was there watching all of these things
come to pass and potentially, you know, the work, the
blood that I shed uh during the civil rights movement
gave way to people like Barack Obama. Uh. And you know,
like that's what Barack Obama said, He's like, I'm not

(01:07):
here without people like John Lewis, UM, you know, creating
a path. You know, he was arrested like forty five
times or something for his protests against segregation and he
you know, his parents were sharecroppers. He really he's seen
it like he's he's at the crossroads of the black

(01:29):
experience like no other person is. And he even lived
to briefly see the uprisings um that came after you know,
May and George Floyd's death. So yeah, it's I I
had to honor of meeting him years ago when I
was still working in politics, um in Nevada, like in
a race. And I remember at the time, I was ignorant,

(01:50):
um like I knew that he was important, but I
didn't quite I didn't fully appreciate what his contribution was.
And I remember like getting schooled that day and I
was like, I've ever since, I've only had the up
and you can only have the utmost respect for this man. Uh.
So yeah, I think it's a it's a it's a
big loss. And I just hope, you know that we

(02:11):
can we can move forward like in his memory, uh
and you know, hopefully the divisions that him and Dr
King and a lot of the other people who were
doing a lot of the work during the civil rights movement,
we can begin to see progress, like real progress on
that book. You know, as we see that marathon, it continues. Yeah,
the bridge renaming obviously not the most important thing, you know,

(02:35):
I'm sure the things that he actually fought for would
be more important. But the bridge in Selma that he
marched over, the Pettis Bridge, is named after like a
KKK grand wizard or something, and a lot of people
were talking about how that needs to be renamed immediately
after him, which makes sense to me. Yeah, I would say, yeah,

(02:58):
if you put if that's a buyinary, I think it's
a pretty easy call on who word who we're picking
on that one, right, um. Nicki Minaj is trending because
she is pregnant with her first I believe she announced it.
Oh she And Okay, it wasn't like some TMZ like
she was walking with her hand on her belly, which means,

(03:20):
you know, like when used to do Bloyd Watch like
she's kind you got me worried. Hold on, let me
double check because I think I just oh, I'm not
even asking to like funk with you. I was just
like wow, cool. Yeah, Yeah, I believe she she announced it.
I saw it was the She is the number one
trending thing on Google today right this image that she

(03:42):
posted me, Yeah, I would believe it then if you
were acting. It's the Virgin Mary by David LaChapelle. Yeah,
it's Nicki Minaj announces pregnancy on CNN. Who are Mirage?
Yeah they are messy bitches over at CNN, but I
don't think they would uh make that she pregnant? So yeah,

(04:07):
shout out to her icon Mark Zuckerberg is trending for
three small reasons. I think he denied that he has
a deal with Trump in terms of how Facebook treats
the misinformation his campaign is going to be spreading, has
been spreading, is currently spreading as you listen to this.

(04:27):
But obviously he would deny that he went surfing in
kabuki makeup, which was a weird look for him. Man,
it's I I have found myself doing that because I've
recently found myself with a newfound respect for the power

(04:49):
and danger the all devouring beast that is the sun.
Uh And I have looked in the mirror and been like, oh, shoot,
I gotta gotta rub this in for another thirty minutes
because I look ridiculous. But he looked that that was awesome.
It's the kind like you see how much zinc he
put on his face, and you're like, I feel bad

(05:11):
for his kids, because if that's like the vibe of
the dad, you damn sure. He's like, no, put his
zinc all over your whole fucking body. No one's getting
burned out here. It's really and it's like funny because
the main photo is like clearly like a long distance
paparazzi photos someone snapped off, like on a boat or something,
and you get the way. It's like he's looking down
the lens like, oh, so y'all are seeing this, huh

(05:33):
in my joker makeup? Okay? Cool? And also there was
an image tweeted by Denny's that suggested that they are
releasing the Zuckerburger doesn't even mean. I think they suspended
their advertising on Facebook, like in line with the account.

(05:53):
So there troll and they're like, okay, I think they're
trolling him, but I can't find it. I just saw
it tweeted by their count I can't imagine that. He
is like like, yo, look on board. You know, you
know I love Denny's, you know I love Zuckerberger. But yeah,
it's uh yeah, if they're trolling him, that's great. If

(06:14):
it's just a fake image, whatever, exit is continues. That's
more and more people need to actually and not just
for July, like until they have this company just by
the throat and they're like, no, you knock it off.
With this proliferation of hate speech and misinformation, that's only

(06:35):
like no one is informed because of this. They're only
informed of new creative ways to look at their life
destructively and find ways to act on it. And Fox
News is trending for there's a new lawsuit that accuses
Tucker Carlson and Sean Hannity of sexual harassment, which is

(06:57):
maybe the least surprising revelation but still you know, should
be immediately dealt with and they should be fired and
their network should be taken off the air. But that
there's also the accusation so that there was there were
accusations made against Ed Henry that weren't really specified, but

(07:19):
he was immediately fired a few months back. Uh and
now the specifics what a producer uh at Fox Uh
has alleged that he raped her. Um, so it is
really committing other sexual misconduct against her. So super horrific. Yeah, yeah, man,

(07:42):
this Fox News has been like every day, I mean,
like the episodes on today we were talking about just
how people within the company, especially the black employees or
have had it. It's just I think this is prevalent anywhere.
It's not just limited to Fox, like you have. You
have people of a certain men mindset who believe they

(08:03):
can do whatever they want to or are just absolutely
have no respect for the agency of women. And this
is the kind of ship that's going to happen. Yeah,
it's man Like, what's some any any cool trends? Oh?
I guess. The other thing is Tenant has been delayed
indefinitely for all movie people. Even seeing a date on

(08:23):
that poster was like absurd. I was like, okay, yeah, yeah, okay,
you think there's you really think there we're going there?
But I know they wanted to because it's a huge
tent pole, prestige release. But now it's like, yeah, what
can you do? Can't we can't get together? We have
completely botched the you know, containment and testing regiment in

(08:44):
this country. So hey, but not just us. It's other
countries with right wing dictatorial leadership, that's true. Who are like,
what's wild is they're getting like charged up off of
Trump's energy too. I'm all right, Miles, Uh, that's gonna
do it for today. Uh. We are back tomorrow with

(09:05):
the whole ass episode of the podcast. Uh. We're also
talking to Robert Evans about what he's seeing firsthand on
the ground in Portland. UH so yeah, tuned him for that.
Until then, be kind to yourselves, be kind to each other,
wash your hands, stay the fun home, wear masks, and

(09:26):
don't do nothing about white supremacy. We'll talk to you
all tomorrow. Bye bye,
