Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hello the Internet, and welcome to the Zeit Stalker. Richard
Richard Ramirez's courtesy of Miles Gray right before we started recording.
My name is Jack O'Brien. That's Miles Gray, the Zeit
stock or Richard It's it's this is what happens. So
towards the end of the day. Uh, this is the
(00:22):
mini daily, like guys, where we talk about what's trending
currently on social media, social media and trend and uh
and trend Google's and Google Apples. Man, let's start off
with Fiona Hill. Yeah, Fiona top trender of the day. Yeah,
well that she went on caps She went to Capitol
(00:45):
Hill and told the truth. Any relation to Hank uh No,
But someone did on TV I think it was CNN
or MSNBC mistakenly called her Fiona Apple, which makes sense
because let's let's be really, there's only one Fiona everything apples. Yeah,
what what is that? That's every single night. Didn't realize
the rhyme director rhyme. That's how sell my brain is.
(01:07):
But yeah, she is, you know, was the top expert
on Russia and Ukraine. Uh. Quite literally wrote the book
on Vladimir Putin, like her book on Vladimir Putin is
like regarded as the definiti so someone who you know,
use their expertise to basically lay waste to a lot
of GOP conspiracy talking points, like about you know, like
(01:29):
that Ukraine was possibly the responsible for meddling in the elections,
and also like reprimanded a lot of the well not
reprimanded just gave a stern warning to Congress about like
be careful about the things that you say, because a
lot of them make their start in the Kremlin. Vladimir
Putin talking points. Yeah, uh, and you know, obviously massively
(01:51):
important testimony. Um. But as you will hear us say
over and over again, I think we get it. Now
what's next, Yeah, we get it. And it's either support
for impeachments either Plateau or is going down. So um yeah,
Devin nun Yez, I don't know how concerned he's going
(02:12):
to be about the fact that he's parenting Vladimir Putin
talking points. Well, he's already looking so weird from like
there's that other story. Love Parnas was helping him out
investigate ship in Europe. Like it seems like even the
people who are up there trying to cover the ship up,
or at least are also ship stained, right they have
they're involved. Respect on Devin Nouna's name, even though it's not.
(02:37):
There's no calls. No, he like America. He's like Devon
Newoness representative Newness. Uh that guy. Anyways, I don't respect him,
but I respect respect the name, respect the name, the brand.
I just I like to add a little little flare,
a little flare to words that don't even require Let
(03:00):
you know, studied abroad. That studied abroad for three weeks,
studied abroad in Ireland. Oh that's right. We've talked about this. Yeah,
and I did study abroad in Spain for a month.
He did in high school? Oh, high school? High school? Damn.
It was pretty dope. Actually where Oh yeah, I pronounced that.
(03:25):
Uh uh MSNBC fears yang is trending on Twitter. Uh
mr uh wait he fears here's Yang. So this is
based on last night's debate. Speaking time. Yeah, when you
when you break down speaking time, it's pretty stark. He
(03:48):
got a total of six minutes forty three seconds. Elizabeth
Warren got thirteen twenty three, Buddha Jade got twelve forty four,
Biden twelve thirty five. I mean it's flee Uh you
know Yang Yang Gang says that he's in fourth or
fifth or sixth or seventh or eighth or ninth. Uh
(04:09):
in national polls, like some national polls. But uh, you know,
he got less speaking time than Tom Stire, which is
just a Russian plant. When he spoke, he had some
pretty good um Andrew Yang Yeah he I mean he
he was he was talking his ship, which is interesting
too because he it's interesting there. I see why a
(04:29):
lot of people are interested in him because he does
have a very like up to date view on technology,
right and what that actually means right right, where a
lot of people I think this is their generational blind
spot where they're like acknowledge that it is something that's
coming up, but also not taking seriously like that that
is a future many other people are going to have
to face, whether that's dealing with you know, these nearly
(04:52):
monopolistic companies automation, etcetera. But yeah, yeah, it seems like
he's uh the new what's that guy Ron Paul? Like
he's like made for the Internet. Yeah, I think he's
better than Ron Paul for the Internet. By the Internet.
Uh Okay, maybe he's better than Ron Paul. I think
(05:13):
he's the new Tulsi Gabbard. Uh does that make sense?
I think he's Andrew Yang Andrew Yang first of his name. Yeah,
he didn't get to speak. They didn't ask him a
question till thirty two minutes things sty was what twenty
nine I think because I remember watching it and like
when he finally focused, like oh yeah that guy right,
(05:35):
oh right, right right? Yeah? Um so yeah, I got
the I got the frustration from Yang Gang uh and MSNBC.
I mean, he does also seem like he's dealing with
the same stuff that Bernie supporters are that Bernie is
where you know, he's not a traditional candidate. He doesn't
uh you know, have the centrist bona fide days and
(05:59):
so it's and because he's even further back. Uh yeah,
it's like easy for them to ignore him. Yeah, it's
it's hard to ignore Bernie so much considering how high
he's pulling, But I think it's easier for them to
sort of rationalize why they've not given him what speaking time.
But also, this is the problem when you have nine
thousand people on that stage, right, what was it sucking?
(06:19):
Eight eight people earned fourteen total, I think or no, ten,
I think where there really let me I mean, there's
only one way to know, and we can't possibly do
that math right now, one to three, four, five, six,
There is uh meteor shower tonight. Yeah, depending on where
(06:43):
you are and what time you're hearing this. Uh, if
you're like basically, if you are east of Texas or
like at the easternmost part of Texas, if you do
a straight line over to the rest of the East coast,
you may see a meteor shower tonight. Basically if you
start listening to this right when you download it, look
up now, Yeah, exactly, we're talking about four hundred to
(07:06):
one thousand meteors per hour possible, depending on the visibility
and where you are. Uh. This was this was predicted
by two I guess renowned Yeah, renowned meteor scientists. Um
and yeah, depending on where you are, you can you
might catch a very very brilliant outburst as they call it.
Last time it happened, oh wow, Yeah, that was a
(07:28):
great year for meteor showers, great year for meeting, great vintage,
one of the best. I don't think I've ever seen
a meteor show. The one time I saw a meteor
was like at a summer camp or something, and I
was just looking up and I saw and then no
one else saw, and I like a shooting star that
was out that is it was a shooting star a meteor? Yeah, yeah, yeah,
it's like a meteor burning up right right, just a
(07:50):
little streak across. Yeah. Yeah. In my mind, I was like, wait,
is it a star that's shooting across this guy going
to its next spot? You're um, which someone have told
me that then? And I'm not finding this out right
now in my old age. Uh, there is a shooting
star in Jaws at one point, and really yeah, And
(08:10):
I was always like, huh, I wonder what that like
symbolizes like as a kid, and it was just they
happened to catch a shooting star. Well that was just
an organic yeah, and into in the actual sky. Right
after the shark attacks the orca as they're telling drinking
stories about shark attacks read the USS Indianapolis story from
(08:30):
Quin and then the shark attacks the boat. They're all
freaking out and then the shark goes away and they're
just sitting there, the boats sitting there, and they do
a wide shot of the boat and you see a
shooting star across the sky. This has been a verbal
recap jaws. Uh. Anyways, Joe biden stutter is another thing
(08:55):
that is trending. There's a new profile that points out
that he has had a lifelong speech impediment uh and
that a lot of the stuff that he gets shipped
about is caused by that. And it's a profile I
think in The Atlantic, written by a writer who has
had a lifelong stutter, and so they kind of have
(09:18):
an ear for it and they're always like kind of
looking out for, uh, that sort of thing, and they
noticed that he seemed to have like that sort of
speech pattern just in listening to him publicly speak. Interesting
and now they're like, this is the first time, like
Biden wrote about it in a couple of his memoirs, uh,
(09:41):
and but he's never like really spoken about it in interviews.
So this is the first time that, uh, that is happening. Well,
you can't blame you can't blame your terrible takes on
legalization and the me too movement on the stutter folks.
But yeah, I mean I think that's a that's a
good thing to know, Yeah, for sure. Um. And finally,
(10:02):
Luca don yeh Uh, this dude, he's a he's the
genuine article. Yeah. So he was a rookie last year
in the NBA, had a outstanding rookie season. But it
was clear, Yeah I believe so he deserved to be
if he wasn't. But uh yeah yeah, and he you know,
(10:25):
it was unclear if he was going to be like
a very good player or a great player. And this
is his second year and he's just like jumped up
a level and he's, you know, contender for m v P.
He just had his second thirty five point triple double
in a row. He did it in twenty seven minutes,
which is the fistest anybody's done it. And he is
(10:48):
the youngest player to have ever had consecutive thirty five
point triple doubles. Wow. So yeah, this dude, like he's
worth watching even if you're not a huge basketball fan,
because he does things that you really don't see anybody do,
Like nobody since lebron Um has kind of witchcraft. Yeah no,
(11:09):
it's like I don't trust it. Uh. And also if
you've seen his mom, like there's something going on with
that family, you know, like there's well, people were people
were fell in love with his mom. I think even
before he got into the league. Yeah, his draft draft night,
people were like, wow, Lucas old girlfriend is so hot,
(11:29):
and it was his mom like, this is my mom. Everyone,
I'm so sorry, but he uh yeah, he has this
step back three that like covers half the court. It's
pretty incredible, do you think any I mean, I always
feel like European players they moved differently. Yeah, and it
definitely does. And I think I wonder if that is
(11:50):
on top of his like being just a really great athlete,
like he's already operating physically in a different way, or
his movements are informed differently. I don't know. That's what
I was like to think, because I'm always like, I
love soccer and basketball so much. Said, I'm always like,
I wonder how much that those cultures overlap. Yeah, like
Palabisovs ball movement, it reminds me a lot of like
one touch passing, right like soccer. Yeow, okay, I've been
(12:16):
paying attention to my woe. Okay, I'm more. Um, all right,
that's that's that's it, right, those are the things that
are trending. Yeah, anything else we want to talk about? Um? No? Alright,
Oh yeah, let us know if you want to talk
about something. We're back tomorrow morning with another episode of
(12:39):
The Daily's Like guys, have a great night, Watch out
for those mediators yep guesses best Thanks
