This is a podcast called twenty five wists stucking punt

what did you expect?
Speaker 2 (01:16):
It's a podcast called twenty five.
Speaker 1 (01:19):
Whistles twenty line wins. Hey, thank you guys for being here.
A Joey Logano coming up. Joey Logano is like the
greatest guy. Yeah, it's like the greatest guy. He's so nice.
So yeah that if you're a NASCAR guy, which I
have said many times, I don't know any think about Nascar.
I like Joey Logano though he's been on the show
a couple of times. He's a champ too, so we
love champs. All right, Eddie hit us here we go. Right,
(01:40):
there's the whistle boom. A couple of things, one as
we and and not really yet about who we think
should be in the College Football Playoff, you know, because
there's obviously the old discrepancy of who should be that
last team in, meaning it's not the twelfth ranked team
because there's gonna be a conference champion. If SMU and
Clemson play, If Clemson wins, does that them you fall
(02:02):
all the way out? Basically does Bama get in?
Speaker 3 (02:04):
Right?
Speaker 1 (02:04):
That's what everybody is like, they've got three losses. And
I said on the last episode, if you have three losses,
not that you don't deserve to be in, but shut
you can't fight to be in. If you somehow get
luckily put in by the magic touch of the wand
of the CFP. Great, but I stopped crying. If you
have three losses, that's the no cry zone. Lane Kiffin
stopped crying. When Lane Kiffin was like, how can ole
Miss not get in? And then Brett Bielman was like, well,
(02:27):
using your logic, we should be in over a year.
Speaker 4 (02:29):
Hilarious.
Speaker 1 (02:30):
Now I want to be very selfish and say that
I want Alabama to get in because two reasons. One
I said I was rooting for him earlier this year
because they are not the Alabama of old. And when
everybody's like taking a dump on a certain person or team.
I'm like, let's go rise from the dump. And so
I was rooting for Obama for that reason, and it
is weird for Bama to be an underdog. And do
(02:52):
I think they can win the National Championship? I mean,
have a gun to my head. No they could, But
I mean I'd probably put money on if I had
to win. Ohio State still probably has the most talent.
Wouldn't shock me to see them win. Oregon's awesome. But
I did bet twenty five hundred dollars on Alabama to
win the National Championship and they're not even in yet. Yeah,
(03:14):
they're not even a lock, right, which is a great bet,
which is why, which is why I bet it, because
I'm like, if there's any manipulating it is to be done.
It will be manipulated in the favor of Alabama or
they don't need it, or Ohio State or Georgia or
there are these brand teams that will get the manipulation
needed because they bring eyeballs to TV sets and we
(03:36):
have to always remember this is a business. So I
bet twenty five hundred dollars. I was just going to
read to the bet on Alabama to win the national championship.
If they don't, I don't get my money back. If
they don't make the tournament, it's gone. But that was
also an appeal for me. Is you know what I'll
take the risk? The risks are if Clemson beats SMU.
Clemson's automatically in because they are the conference champion of
(03:59):
the AC. See, SMU hasn't be anybody, and so does
SMU stay in their best wins Pittsburgh. But because they
are number two in the conference, do they stay in
with you know, few losses. I just have not seen
one of their games, have you only? Yes too, but
only because the court he used to play Arkansas their
(04:20):
head coach, so rooting for him. Okay, so here's my bet. Guys.
If I win this, I'm not even trying to win it.
If you win it, you are the luckiest man ever.
But that's not lucky to take it. It is if
Alabama wins the whole thing. Now, but that's loser mentality.
Just because somebody wins something to go that's lucky, because
(04:41):
if it were just lucky, you could grab anybody and
know what happened. You just have to take gun to
your head. You wouldn't do it right. And I'm also
gonna bail out if they win a game or two.
I'm gonna I'm gonna hedge this suffer. Yeah, but again
I am using in poker terms pot odds to go.
Will they actually get in? I think probably they'll find out,
they'll sliver their way in. Do I think they can
(05:03):
win a first round game because they will play a
first round game on the road at insert school here. Yes,
and I think they can win a game or possibly two.
I don't think that's lucky by taking what I've watched
all year and what I've seen over the past twenty
years with these big foundation schools and go this is
where I'm gonna put my money. I don't think that's lucky.
I think that's using and again I may lose. I mean,
(05:27):
lucky would be the double doink going in.
Speaker 4 (05:30):
That's lucky because I had nothing to do with that,
and a.
Speaker 1 (05:33):
Doing doink doink.
Speaker 4 (05:36):
Yeah, lucky would be either this would.
Speaker 1 (05:37):
Be this is a risk and there's some luck involved.
But I think that lucky would be just scrolling, putting
my finger on one and go on like that's your winner. Man,
if you win this, do you think you can be
that news article that says better bet this this week
and has won, and that better is Bobby Bones, because
that'd be cool those things. Yeah, I'm not gonna wint
(05:57):
enough though. Twenty five hundred bucks makes forty two thousand,
five hundred.
Speaker 4 (06:00):
If it was like five dollars to make forty two thousand.
Speaker 1 (06:03):
Yeah, that would be cool. Like a seventy two team parlay, Yeah,
fifty five that would be my article.
Speaker 4 (06:08):
Yeah, that'd be eddy.
Speaker 1 (06:11):
So I've bet Alabama to win the National Championship based
on the fact that if there can be manipulation done,
Alabama will get in because the committee knows this is
a business. They want eyeballs on TV sets, and ratings
matter because ratings sell commercials. Commercial is the revenue for
the television networks to pay all the money to the conferences. Now,
if you can't, they won't. And Alabama stays out, what
(06:32):
I need is SMU to beat Clemson. That's what I
need need. The other thing that can happen is Clemson
beats SMU and they kick SMU out, which I don't
know what happened because I think now they feel the pressure.
But if they can, they will put Alabama in can
you tell me Alabama and Notre Dame? Is it going
to be a massively rated game Week one? If Alabama
(06:53):
goes in as the twelve and Notre Dame is the five,
that will be a ratings bonanza. And that's why it's
not lucky and that is well, but yeh'll be pretty lucky. Legit. Question,
does it hurt teams more to play in a championship game?
(07:14):
So that's the debate. Now, that's a great question because
and you had Lane Kiffin, it's a couple weeks ago.
Why would any bed want to play the championship game
if you can lose then get kicked out? So the
general theory is no, I'm gonna say general, but this
has never happened before. Right, we're in uncharted waters because
it was four teams the last few years before that
was just two. So in conference championship games actually led
(07:36):
to the four. You can lose a conference championship game
now and stay in because the loser of Penn State
Oregon they're in regardless. Yeah, the loser of Georgia Texas
they're in regardless. Really Georgia would be in regardless? Oh yeah,
no losses, Yeah, no doubt Georgia's in. You think they
wouldn't be, well, no, I think they would, but I mean,
you look at it. Alabama's got three losses, they don't
(07:58):
have another game. But Alami didn't didn't make it to
the sc championship game. So the general consensus is you
will not lose your place if you lose the championship game,
because that would mean there is a negative to playing
in the championship game. The only reason, the only that
I could see that wouldn't be the cases if you
play in one of the conferences that are borderline and
the Clemson SMU hasn't played anybody. Yeah, but it's not
(08:21):
their fault. They haven't played anybody. The schedule makers are right.
They played who they could play. Yeah, but I SMU wins,
so I can get in the mix on the Bama bit.
Speaker 4 (08:31):
But they lose, they're out. I think.
Speaker 1 (08:35):
I'm torn. I think the I think I totally respect
that that you think that, because I think they should
get rid of the conference championship games first of all,
because if they're going to do twelve, they should just
rate the people and they shouldn't give the buyes to
the conference champions because this is what this mess is creating.
The top four teams should just get the four buys
and they may change it very soon. Yeah, they're going
(08:55):
to learn a lot this year. Yeah. But also, let
me say this, it's awesome. The College Wall Playoff is awesome.
It's the greatest addition to one of the main sports
in twenty five thirty years.
Speaker 4 (09:06):
Oh yeah, but do you still like the championship games
this weekend?
Speaker 1 (09:09):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (09:10):
Because I mean I have interest obviously, but I'm like, well,
what if Oregon and Penn State are currently Oh whatever,
if we win this?
Speaker 5 (09:15):
Cool?
Speaker 4 (09:15):
If we don't know, big deal. I don't think I
can't help with the think though.
Speaker 1 (09:18):
I just don't think that would happen, just in general,
as a competitor and as a coach with bonuses and
as players getting being on tape for NFL football is
different than other sports. Yeah, I think they want to
be the freaking Big ten champion. That's awesome.
Speaker 4 (09:30):
I mean Oregon still has a undefeated and you get.
Speaker 1 (09:32):
A buye and you're playing for a buy and you
get a big trophy and the trophy like Eddy said, yeah,
man's yeah, you put it in your room, in your.
Speaker 4 (09:38):
I didn't even think about the trophy.
Speaker 1 (09:40):
I think playing for the buye though, is a big deal. Yeah,
big enough deal, that's true. But I think it's a
great question, And the only one I could see falling
out would be if SMU loses. If clemes And loses,
they're out anyway, comes and got lucky Syracusan. Yeah, but
I think the committee may want to prove that playing
in a championship game shouldn't be a bad thing, even
(10:02):
if you lose, and that would be the only thing
if they're like, look, do we think SMB is one
of the best eighteen teams. Let's say they say they lose.
Do we think SMB is one of the best at No,
But are we gonna set the president that you can
lose the championship game and then not play? So that'll
be the battle. I'd like to be in on that call. Now, Guys,
I'm over Bama here. They're like, who's talking?
Speaker 3 (10:23):
Who is this?
Speaker 1 (10:24):
Put that Chartie's angels? All right, angels, Does UNLV still
have a chance? Yeah, they win, They're in.
Speaker 4 (10:29):
That's pretty amazing, that's crazy, that's awesome.
Speaker 1 (10:31):
Yeah, and nobody's I'm watching and they're like, people are
irritated because Boise State gets a BUYE and I can
understand they need to fix it. Bois And State should
not get a buy They're not one of the four
best teams. They are gonna win the Mountain West if
they win the championship game. But there's no way Boys
State should get a bye. They're not good enough. They
they skated. They skirted and skated all year. They've won
every The schedules just different. Yes, this is a very
(10:51):
different schedule, and everyone's just assuming the Boisse State is
in and they're gonna win. No one's even talking about
UNLV having a shot.
Speaker 4 (11:00):
And they played earlier this year. I think it was
a shootout, wasn't it.
Speaker 1 (11:03):
I've seen Tony moms. I don't know. I don't Oh gosh,
I hundreds hundreds of games. I've watched more games this
year than my whole life. I do have a clip though,
because the boys the UNLV game, and I laughed out
loud at this, but then I also wanted okay first,
So here is the UNLV quarterback hogway I don't know what,
and by the way, there's him talking in a press conference.
And but remember they're on their second quarterback, because you know,
(11:24):
his quarterback left mid year because he's like, I need
to get paid, right, right, dumb dumb. Hodge Williams doing
a press conference earlier this week, and he was asked
what he expects of the atmosphere when they play at
Boise State. This is a Friday, so today tonight's this
game for the Mountain West Championship ahead.
Speaker 6 (11:40):
I don't know what to expect as far as the
crowd at Boys that I've never been there. I don't
even know where it is on the map. But what
I do know is communication is always a key to victory,
you know.
Speaker 1 (11:52):
So what I laughed at is everybody getting mad being like, oh,
that's bulletin bar material. They don't know where Bois is
on it. Bro, I've been to Boise. I know where
Idaho is. It's a little stick up. I don't know
where most cities are inside of a state on a map.
I couldn't point to it either. People are like they're
gonna depend on the bulletin board to come out pissed
because you don't know where Boys is on a map. Okay,
well get pissed at all of America because none of
(12:12):
us know where. If you said Boston, I know it's
on the water, and I can tell you what the
Massachusetts state looks like. But even a major, I don't
know that I could take a pen and go for sure.
Like just the other day, I didn't know that Denver
or Colorado was connected to Kansas, like I thought Colorado
was by California way over there. That's bulletiboary with too man. Yeah,
(12:35):
I laughed out loud, everyone getting Everyone just wants to
be heard by being hurt, and they were all hurt.
Oh he just gave me you can't identify him on
a map. That's disrespect Well, I guess I'm disrespectful too,
because I've been there. It's awesome, by the way, and
I can set that. Yeah, it's great. It's better than Hawaii,
and no one that can be true. It is true,
except I didn't go on winter summer better than Hawaii.
(12:58):
Been to both?
Speaker 4 (12:59):
Hey been to both?
Speaker 1 (13:00):
Yes, Yeah, Kenneden, if I'm on the map where the
city is in the state. Yeah, So anyway, And we've
had both coaches on UNLV and Boise, right, I am
not going to lie though I'm rooting for UNLV. I'm
rooting for Boise UNLV all the way.
Speaker 4 (13:16):
So I when I coached high school football, three players
are now playing in Bois.
Speaker 1 (13:21):
You should say assistant coached, Yes, but no, way, that's
the thing now, Okay, assistant When I was an assistant
pre page, Yeah, volunteer bones, you just say coach at
that point. Yeah, you just say like when I coached, Well,
you have to set it up once. Ever, when I coached,
you can't just go because he's never said this before.
You can't just go like, yeah, when I was coaching
high school football, then people think you're like running head coach,
(13:42):
and it's like, why hasn't he added more? Now?
Speaker 4 (13:44):
When I was the athletic director, I did this. So
three of our players got recruited by Boise, and all
three of them are there right now playing.
Speaker 1 (13:52):
Oh that's a good reason. Yeah, that's a good reason.
It's pretty cool. I'm friends with the boy with the
un LB head coach and we tech semi frequently and
I love them and their punt returner Mani Broncos. So
what what's up? What's up? Hey? I like, what's the
spread of that one figure? Look at it? I figured
one of you, uh here Bois and minus four that's it? Wow?
Speaker 4 (14:13):
Yeah, that's it.
Speaker 1 (14:15):
And they're at Boise or is it not mount game
somewhere else that Boise him because a lot of the
major games are in a yeah.
Speaker 4 (14:23):
Neutral, Yeah, like Indy for the Big ten and stuff
like that. But yeah, that on the blue.
Speaker 1 (14:27):
Field, poor two Lane. They had a shot, they had
a shot to squeak up and possibly be in the conversation,
and they lost. And now I mean they're still playing
in the A C, which is where I sim you
came from. Yeah last year, Yeah, two Lane minus five army. Okay,
we're gonna join Logano in just a second. I think
I'm just gonna build a party of myself.
Speaker 5 (14:48):
Guys, Oh, do it, do it?
Speaker 1 (14:50):
I know it's just a disaster when you guys get involved.
No offense. There aren't a lot of games to choose from.
There's six. Yeah you're gonna pick three. Yeah, I don't
want to. I don't want to be on the app.
You just tell them, don't put me up there. People, listeners,
get listen. We're big, big draft kings guys, all of us.
It's embarrassing. Whatever. You don't when they put you up
(15:11):
there and you're like, first, we're like, we want to
be on the app. Get them up there, and then
after like our seventh parlay loss in a row, we're like,
get us off the app.
Speaker 3 (15:18):
Yeah right.
Speaker 1 (15:19):
Here's the thing, though, parlays not something that I would
say is my strong suit. I would not choose to
come on and go trust this parlay now, because this
is a big part of what Draft Kings does. We're
happy to give a parlay that's great. Mostly I'm like,
one game at a time, grinding up. Went to lose one,
that's fine, you're still up a bit. I dude, got
(15:40):
a good parlay this week. Okay, let's hear it. Come on. Ah.
Sometimes I'm too biased though, Like, as I sort of
say it out loud, I'm like, I'm too biased playing
trust me. I know Texas throw them in there anyway.
Texas is minus two and a half. This is the
SEC Championship. Georgia at Texas, but neutral Atlanta Atlanta. Atlanta
(16:03):
Texas a favorite. You take Georgia, just take the Georgian
money line. That's it, Georgian money line. I bet that
game by itself. But inside the parlor Georgian money line, boom.
We got Clemson an su SMU being a two and
a half point favorite, what's hard for me is I
(16:27):
can't give a bet that I don't want to happen,
because I feel like my root in my head. If
they it's like having it playing fantasy and playing against
somebody in one league and having somebody in another, and
you're just torn and you don't know how to feel.
So as much as I feel a certain way about
this game, I'm not saying it. I'm not putting it
on the parlay because I'm not saying it.
Speaker 5 (16:45):
It's just heavily implied.
Speaker 1 (16:47):
It doesn't even exist. So do what you want in
that one there. I always say, Arizona State take Arizona
State money line. It's a Arizona State's two point favorite,
but it's so close to does matter, And the two
points you're giving on the Georgia game, you're basically back
to even. So Arizona State's winner, Georgia winner at Penn
(17:10):
State Oregon game is juicy. It's juicy, Oregon's ripe and
we like Oregon and yep. Another one of my text buddies,
well not near as much as coach ot them, but
Dan Landing and I have exchanged your text messages. That's
it is pretty cool. Head coach Organ. But they're right,
and nobody expects us to be I mean everyone. It's
(17:32):
just like Organ's already the winner.
Speaker 5 (17:33):
Yeah, let's see.
Speaker 1 (17:36):
What don't they say, like Penn State chokes these They say,
Penn State just chokes in these.
Speaker 4 (17:40):
Like games mostly against Ohio State. Yeah, mostly that's oh
yeah in Michigan.
Speaker 1 (17:46):
But yeah, James Franklin can't beat Ohio State or Michigan
basically yeah, uh but or Oregon. I know, I'm gonna go, uh,
Penn State plus three and a half. There you go.
So that's the parlay you guys want to run it,
(18:07):
run it. Here's my confidence level though, Georgia money Line
confidence level eight out of ten, Arizona State confidence level
seven out of ten, Penn State plus three and a
half five point five out of ten has more than five.
I would and bet at five point five out of ten.
Little game is just like, ah wow, this is so
interesting to see these this happen because one nobody expected
the game to happen, right, that's fun. Let's see. And
(18:29):
that is a late game too, so that could be
like the one you wait for. That's the one I
cash out on if I won the first. That's the one.
You put that in the bottom of the parlay. If
it gets to this game, cash out. If you want
to take the twenty five Whistles parlay, you can check
out Draft Kings Sports Book. New users use the code
Bobby Sports whenever you download the app.

Speaker 1 (19:06):
Be ball. Now our talk with twenty twenty four NASCAR
Cup Series champion Joey Logano. It was Joey's third Cup
Series championship in his career, his second in the last
three years. He's been on the show before. We're pumped
to have him and what's great about Joey is that
he knows I don't know anything, and I don't act
(19:28):
like I know that I know anything. But also I'm
respectful enough I have real questions and aren't like do
you pee in your suit? I think everybody asked that
the first time they ever had talk, like, like, I
have real questions, and I think some of them. He
was like, I've never been asked that.
Speaker 4 (19:40):
Yeah. He was a little confused at times.
Speaker 1 (19:41):
Yeah, but not in the way of like I was
making fun. I know that literal yeah yeah.
Speaker 5 (19:44):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (19:45):
So when he says like, that's a good question, what
does that mean? He's never been asked that before? And
it's not so stupid that he thinks it's a bit okay,
And I don't really think he means it's like a
great question he wants to get on NASCAR dot com
and talk about. But I think he means I've never
been asked that. And I can see how someone who's
not a fan a super fan of NASCAR would think
that was the thing.
Speaker 4 (20:02):
Because he probably gets asked the same ten questions.
Speaker 1 (20:05):
Yes, by either the NASCAR faithful the beat reporters. Those
questions are always very what's happening right now? What's happening tomorrow?
What you did? And then people have no idea or
like dope in your suit?
Speaker 6 (20:16):
Right?
Speaker 1 (20:17):
What's fast as you ever been? Do you ever get
speeding tickets? Yes? Do you drive recklessly? All this stuff
we asked the first time we got them on? All right,
So here is Joey Logano. Joey, congratulations again, like you
are that dude. It's super cool to see. Do you
ever get into a race aside from the Cup Series championship?
Do you ever get into a race or is it
(20:38):
every race you feel like you're going to win? Or
are some like if I can just finish because I
don't feel good physically, If I can just finish in
the top ten, how does that work every race?
Speaker 3 (20:47):
Yeah, it's different.
Speaker 7 (20:48):
In our sport because it was a machine you have
to deal with as well, and no two cars are
created the same, and so there's weekends where you feel
like you have the best car, well, we better go
capitalize on this car that we have, and then there's
times where you get there in practice you're like, gosh,
my car is like a twentieth place car.
Speaker 3 (21:08):
If I can just if I can finish in the
top ten, that would be.
Speaker 1 (21:12):
Like a win.
Speaker 7 (21:13):
It just kind of depends on what you got. But
the car is different every week. You try to make
the right adjustments to your car to try to make
it the best you can. But it's different than other
sports because it's just the human element, right. The basketball
is the same every week. The court's really not that
much different from week to week. But our racetracks are
completely different. When you go from half mile tracks, the
(21:34):
mile and a half tracks, road courses, everything in between,
it's different every week.
Speaker 1 (21:39):
I've had periods in my life where I've been like,
this is the greatest lunch I've ever had. I actually
keep it like a chart of my favorite lunch ever,
my favorite dinner ever, my favorite snack ever, in different
places I've had them. Do you know the absolute fastest
you've ever been? Like the one track and the number
that you hit?
Speaker 3 (21:54):
Yeah, I remember it was God. I think it was
twenty fourteen or fifteen.
Speaker 7 (22:01):
We were qualifying in Michigan and we were qualifying at
two hundred and twenty miles an hour. Into the corners,
we averaged two hundred mile an hour. Over two hundred
in the whole lap is the average lat time. So yeah,
that felt fast.
Speaker 3 (22:15):
You kind of get used to the speed, to be honest,
would you? It's just when something goes wrong, that's.
Speaker 7 (22:20):
When you feel like you're going really fast because it
doesn't stop real quick.
Speaker 1 (22:23):
You know, this is going to be a really dumb
question for somebody who's really never been in a race car.
Is there a speedometer in there? No?
Speaker 3 (22:32):
No, we're legally and not allowed to have one.
Speaker 4 (22:35):
Why it might be a better thing that.
Speaker 3 (22:38):
I don't have one?
Speaker 1 (22:41):
Yeah, I think I would just want to know. Then?
Have you done it so many times that you can
pretty much just like raw dog and know how fast
you're going?
Speaker 7 (22:49):
I mean, roughly what ends up happening is we set
our dashes, so we have a tachometer, you know that
reads the RPMs of the motor.
Speaker 5 (22:57):
We know what gear.
Speaker 3 (22:58):
Ratios are in the car or uh so when we
hit a certain speed, we know it.
Speaker 7 (23:03):
Right when when the engines are certain our pm and
you're in fifth gear, you have an idea that you're going,
you know, whatever it is, whatever it is that we
can so you kind of go off of the tack
all the time.
Speaker 1 (23:15):
Okay, another really dumb guy question for somebody who just
watches on TV. Do you have snacks in the car.
If for some reason you need a snack real quick.
I wish.
Speaker 3 (23:25):
I take some water with me because it's hot in there.
But I typically don't have a snack. I mean, they're
fairly long races or three and a half hour races,
but there's not really much time.
Speaker 7 (23:37):
And you got your helmet and think about it, you
got all this stuff in front of your face, and
I don't.
Speaker 3 (23:42):
You can't really get a good on little bar in
there or anything.
Speaker 4 (23:45):
Like that, So I don't.
Speaker 3 (23:48):
I think some drivers stuff, I don't.
Speaker 1 (23:50):
It makes sense. But again, I do this for five
hours or I'll be even on stage if I'm doing comedy,
and but I like my blood shirtar feels a a
little low. I'll eat almond or two. But you're saying
you have so if you're let's say you have to
pull in and you're in the pit, would you will
you be like throw me some elements? Can you do that?
Have you ever done that? If you're like a little low,
I've never done it. Okay, I've never done it.
Speaker 3 (24:12):
You're so like you're just you're a gentalin's pushing.
Speaker 7 (24:16):
Yeah, you know, you don't even realize how tired you
are sometimes until you get out of the car, and.
Speaker 3 (24:21):
That's what it like.
Speaker 7 (24:22):
It hits you like, oh my gosh, right, But most
of the time in the car you're adrenaline is you know,
just like it's kind of like that runners high that
you get at times, right.
Speaker 3 (24:31):
You just you keep trucking along.
Speaker 7 (24:32):
Your heart rates, you know, one hundred and forty or
so throughout the whole race on average, sometimes higher. Sometimes
it gets a little bit more comfortable depending on the track,
but you're kind of get in that mode where you
just keep clicking wraps off.
Speaker 1 (24:44):
I want to talk about teammates for a second, because
on the Penske team, Ryan Blaney's on your team. We
had Ryan and he's had a great time with Ryan,
But are t is there a benefit to having a
good teammate and is there within the team like, hey,
we really need to get Joey to this place and
really need to get Ryan too this place. Are you
helping each other to the point where it's obvious.
Speaker 3 (25:08):
Yes, and yes and yes yes to some of the answers,
it is.
Speaker 7 (25:14):
The teammates in motorsports is probably the most challenging relationships
you can have, because on one hand, you need to
work together to be successful. Right If we just compete
against each other and say, gosh, all you gotta do
is beat my teammate, well, you may beat him, but
you're gonna finish twentieth. And is that really doing anything?
Speaker 8 (25:33):
Like?
Speaker 7 (25:34):
You have to have the attitude that you'd rather finish
second to your teammate than beat him and finish twentieth.
Speaker 3 (25:40):
And that's that's sometimes hard to do depending on what's
going on.
Speaker 7 (25:44):
But I'd say, you know Ryan Blaney's you're also Austin
Cindric as well as an other teammate.
Speaker 3 (25:50):
Both of them are very good. They're young, they're fast,
They so much speed.
Speaker 7 (25:56):
The good thing about that is they pushed me, right,
they pushed me out of my comfort zone. We all
kind of bring different things to the table, which is nice.
I've been doing this for sixteen years, so I could
break some experience to the table. They bring speeds at
the table. I think together we end up making everybody better.
And I think that's what you ultimately want in a
teammate is someone that's going to, you know, push you
(26:18):
and make the whole organization better, right, all of Team Penske.
I think we've got that with our teammates right.
Speaker 1 (26:24):
Now, the teammates ever fight like out like fist fight,
I've never I don't know they've ever seen teammates fist fight,
And would and would your team be like boys you
do that in like like an actual team, because I've
been on you know, even playing high school sports. Right,
friends that play pro sports they fight with each other,
but they do it behind closed doors. Are their teammates
that ever like come to blows on the track.
Speaker 7 (26:45):
It depends on the team. I don't see Team Penske
handling really anything that way between each other. But I
also know that listen, there's gonna be difference as opinions, right,
Like it's like growing up with your brother, you know,
like you're he's gonna take you off every now and again,
and the best thing you can do is talk about it.
Speaker 3 (27:06):
Right.
Speaker 7 (27:07):
You can't just like any other relationship, you can't brush
it under the rug and expect it to get better.
Speaker 3 (27:11):
It's gonna keep getting worse.
Speaker 7 (27:12):
So you just got to have an open relationship. You
got to be able to talk about everything that's going
on together. And if if I made I tell them
all the time, if I make you mad, tell me
I probably have a reason for it and vice versa.
You know, so I'll tell you if I'm upset, I
promise you that. So I think that's what the best
teammates do. But yeah, I mean there's different expectations with
(27:36):
your teammate. Right if someone if it's not your teammate
and they're racing the crap out of you, well you
don't get that upset. But if it's your teammate, you're like, hey, Bud, like,
aren't we kind of on the same side here? You know,
there's different rules of engagement that that you know, are
spoken about before the races sometimes.
Speaker 1 (27:55):
Forgive my ignorance on this question, would do you could
you design a racetrack? Because I'm golfers, you know, they
get bigger famous. This is a Tiger Woods track. I mean,
I feel like you've won enough now they should be
asking you to design a racetrack. Can you design a racetrack?
Is that a thing I've never.
Speaker 7 (28:08):
Been asked, But I mean, I guess I could help
design a track. I think a couple of drivers have before.
I know, Rusty Wallace did a lot with Iowa Speedway,
and some road racers did some stuff with road courses.
But you know, really, I think what the difference is
(28:29):
is building a racetrack is I would assume a lot
more expensive than a golf course, just because I mean
you think of all the site work that has to
be done, all the buildings, all the grand stands, the
suite so all that, Like, you know, just building new
race tracks all the time, like that's really expensive. So
we end up going back to the same tracks very often.
(28:52):
And there's there's racetracks all across the world, right then,
a lot of them we haven't seen. Right, We're going
to Mexico City this year, so there's a racetrack that's
been there for a long time, but none of us
have ever seen it. So I don't know if we
need to be, you know, spending a ton of money
on building your racetracks and designing them, but just going
to a lot of great ones that are there and
(29:12):
bringing our races to the fans that are there.
Speaker 1 (29:14):
I know, your bodies go through a lot over the
course of a race. Now again this is such a
dumb guy question, but if let's say you hurt your ankle,
Let's say you step off a stair, or like you
hurt your your achilles tendon and it actually hurts to
push the pedal. Could they switch it to you could
do with the other I don't know how would they
do that if your foot hurt so bad? And has
(29:35):
it ever kept you out of a race?
Speaker 3 (29:38):
Man? You gets some interesting questions to that. I knock
on wood, something, knock on something.
Speaker 7 (29:44):
I've never had something that kept me out of the
race car a foot. I even think growing up, I
have broke my arm a couple of times.
Speaker 5 (29:53):
But yeah, ah.
Speaker 7 (29:57):
No, I mean some guys have driven with with some
with some banged up situations and it doesn't look comfortable.
Speaker 3 (30:07):
Yeah, but I've never seen anyone drive with the other
foot to overcome that.
Speaker 5 (30:12):
Yeah, I know.
Speaker 4 (30:13):
I mean I don't know why you couldn't though, that's right?
Speaker 5 (30:15):
Or could you?
Speaker 1 (30:16):
Are the rules against putting some of the stuff on
the hands, because you know, you see those old old
person cadillacs are like flipping gears with their fingers right right,
exactly exactly. I'm bringing all the questions. These are legitimate
things I've always wanted to ask somebody who's like the greatest. Okay,
I saw you with Shack recently, DJ and at the club.
How what happened? How did that happen.
Speaker 3 (30:37):
Well, so they had, which I didn't know. DJ Diesel
is what they call him. He was at the after
party for a championship party and he's huge.
Speaker 7 (30:49):
By the way, he's as big as I thought he
would be, as freaking tall as huge, super nice.
Speaker 4 (30:57):
I didn't know he's a DJ.
Speaker 1 (31:01):
Hey, wait to hear about Paris Hilton. That one's next. Yeah,
she's saying, oh no, okay. So I got to two
final questions here, and by the way, these are legitimate
questions I've been holding on to to ask you because
again to me, like you're that guy. So it's been
super cool to ask you these dumb guy questions that
I've had. So you've won three Cup Series championships in
(31:22):
your mind, like, what is it like a Tom Brady thing?
Do you want to win more than anybody ever? Do
you want to have so many that people can't catch you? Right? Like,
you know Brady's got seven. It's going to be hardly
people unless it's Mahomes, Nobody's gonna catch Brady. Your thoughts
on like what's the ceiling with you? What's the goal?
Speaker 3 (31:39):
To be honest with you, I don't set long term goals.
I set this year's goal. And I mean, this is
a simple way of thinking about life. But what is
the goal this year?
Speaker 7 (31:51):
Is how I look at it, And the goal every
year is the same, is to go win the championship.
And there's there's if that takes six twins to do it,
if it takes two wins to do it, whatever it is,
doesn't matter. You know, if I'm looking you know, I
don't ever look far up ahead and say, gosh, I
want to have seven championships like Richard Petty and Dale
(32:13):
Jimmy Johnson, Like yeah, that would be great, you know.
Speaker 3 (32:16):
I eight would be even better. Sure, but I got
to get four first, you know, before before I even
look that far. So maybe it's just a simple way
of thinking about it, but it's just the way.
Speaker 1 (32:27):
I do it. Final two questions. I'm going to do
this serious one because I saw that your foundation gave
quarter million dollars a hurricane relief to you. You know,
I've noticed a priority and you giving back and finding
reasons to give back, Like why is that important to you?
Speaker 3 (32:44):
Well? I said this in my speech, and it's there's
a lot of truths behind this.
Speaker 7 (32:48):
You think about sports in general, they're pretty pointless right,
you're either putting a ball in a basket, you're carrying
a football across the field. And for us, we're driving
the store to end up in the same place after
five hundred miles. When you think about all that, it's
pretty goofy and dumb, But if you think about the
(33:10):
platform that God's given us to impact others, it's becomes
very impactful, right Like, it's a very very big thing.
Speaker 3 (33:19):
And so that's the why.
Speaker 7 (33:22):
So for us, the Joy Legana Foundation is the why.
We care a lot about foster kids. We deal a
lot with foster families. You brought up the Hurricane Helene.
You know we're here in North Carolina. Obviously, it's about
an hour from here in the mountains where there's a
lot of families that got impacted more than the news
(33:42):
tells you.
Speaker 3 (33:43):
It's bad.
Speaker 7 (33:44):
And so we've been able to make some trips up
there and visit some families get a little bit better
idea what's going on. I mean, people's houses got washed away,
their cars got washed away, their families got washed away.
Speaker 3 (33:59):
It's it's so sad.
Speaker 7 (34:01):
So you know, there's there's a few foster care communities
up there that we've worked with in the past that
were impacted in a very large way. A lot of
people don't have flood insurance up there either, so we've
been doing a lot of things with giving cars away.
We've already given a car away. We got four more
cars that were getting ready to give away here in
a couple of weeks before Christmas. You know, we've got
(34:22):
some some some money going towards rebuilding uh, these foster
care communities that that got washed out. So there's been
some great help from our race stands, from our partners.
It's not just me doing it, but the fact that
we all come together and try to impact an area
(34:43):
that just people that need help.
Speaker 3 (34:45):
That's really the why.
Speaker 1 (34:48):
My final question, and again this is a bit trivial,
but it's something that I was given grief for. I
was doing a TV show on that GEO and I
had an earpiece, and mostly for safety reasons because I'd
be up on like these harnesses or I'd be doing
and so I had to ear peace in. My director
would talk to me. But I demanded on a Saturday,
I say demanded. I'm not a demanding guy, but I
did sound saturdays in my contract that I needed to
(35:08):
have the updates for the Arkansas football games fed through
my ear so as I'm doing this, I had them
tell me the scores of the games as it was happening,
if we happen to be recording while doing the show.
So I asked this from a place that I was
shamed for having that put in. If you're ever in
a race and you're wondering what the score is of
a game, do you ever ask for them to update
you on scores of something else while you're doing your thing.
Speaker 3 (35:28):
I tell you what, man, I don't have the capacity
for it. I have a hard time to have a
capacity to watch sports these days. Like I love watching.
Speaker 7 (35:37):
Sports, but I got three kids and my oldest one's six,
so it's like Paul Patrol on a rewinder and we're
moving into the Christmas movies on the Grinch and Christmas Chronicles.
So honestly, I don't ever get the TV revote. And
if anyone has kids and listening to this, you know,
(35:57):
about nine o'clock it's game over on I'm going to sleep.
So I wish I could watch sports as I love it,
but gosh, I'm a couple of years away from it
right now.
Speaker 1 (36:08):
Yeah, Okay, I still feel shame. I still feel shame,
and thanks Joy for allowing me to keep keep holding
on to that shame in my heart for that. Hey, Joey,
we're rooting for you, dude, We root for you. Congratulations again.
It's so cool to like like you're you're you're all.
You're nice and you know, we've had some people in
It doesn't matter they aren't that nice. You're like, you're awesome.
You're awesome to us. We appreciate the time. You're so generous.
What's we's spending time with us?
Speaker 8 (36:29):
Uh?
Speaker 1 (36:30):
Not all you guys are awesome. It's like in general
the world, but you were one of them. So congratulations.
Speaker 3 (36:35):
Well gee, thanks, I appreciate the compliments and show glad
to be on it.
Speaker 1 (36:40):
Thanks Joey. Hopefully we'll see you, soume.
Speaker 4 (36:41):
Man, invite me more times than do you come on
whenever you want.
Speaker 1 (36:45):
You literally, you could come on anytime. You can come
when you lose because I have all these questions. Uh, Joey,
we love you, buddy. Have a good day, all right, man.
Speaker 3 (36:55):
Thanks, we'll see you.
Speaker 1 (36:56):
For the most part, we don't talk baseball, very regional loveaball,
but there are certain stories I'm like, God, damn, we
gotta talk about this. So this guy's name is Kent
Sports on TikTok and I want to play you. This
is just from my phone. It's about whenever they find
these prospects and they really don't how old they are
and they say they're a certain age and turns out
they're older. Dude, this story is crazy. Here you go.
Speaker 8 (37:15):
This is one of the wildest baseball scandals you'll ever see.
Ah Drace had agreed to sign a fourteen year old
shortstop out of the Dominican Republic for four million dollars,
only to find out he's actually nineteen, not fourteen.
Speaker 1 (37:27):
How funny is that? The kids like, yeah, my o
pit hair has just started growing, and they're like, dang,
you rock for a fourteen year old old and he's nineteen.
Speaker 5 (37:35):
I am twelve.
Speaker 1 (37:36):
That's funny.
Speaker 5 (37:37):
I remember that Danny Almonte story for a while, but serious.
Speaker 4 (37:41):
Exactly there just dominating dominated.
Speaker 3 (37:43):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (37:43):
So that was one and the other thing was another
quick baseball story and I'll get out baseball. But they
were talking about the Golden bat.
Speaker 5 (37:50):
Oh yeah, what the heck is?
Speaker 1 (37:52):
Here's what I want to say before we tell the
story and people go that stupid. I enjoy the fact
that they're they're tossing new idea is for a sport
that people are losing interest in, like crazy, because baseball
has gone way downhill with the interest. Nobody cares if
I say, nobody, some due, but it's very regional. You
got to have a team. But it's just not like
football or even basketball.
Speaker 5 (38:13):
Right the salary cap, I feel like, is the number
one thing.
Speaker 1 (38:16):
So what they the commissioner comes like, say what we
think about flirt? Did you know what Eddie? No, I
don't know about this. Think about flirt with this rule
like once a game you get a golden it bat
where you get to use it one time, but anybody
in your lineup gets to come about right then.
Speaker 4 (38:30):
Whoa wow, which is hilarious.
Speaker 1 (38:33):
Cool bases loaded. Otani's upy oh wow, they just struck
him out. Wow, who's up walking back up to the
plate for a second time. He just So here's what
I think, as ridiculous as it sounds, and baseball is
a purest sport and it's also why it has not
grown because they've just attached themselves to the I think
that would be fun to do, Like the first ten
(38:54):
games of the season, not the whole year, not to playoffs,
the playoffs, but do it the first ten games of
the season, and that's it, and it's fun, it's novel.
It is what it is. And if it turns out
to be something that people really enjoy and there's an
element to it that you haven't even expected or understood,
then great. But I don't hate it because it's something
(39:14):
new and it's so innovative that people think it's stupid.
But that's usually where good ideas come from. So what
if you need a homer, then you can just turn
around and just you get any time you want to
go bad again, yes you get to use it once again.
The gold in it bat It could be the second inning,
could be the ninth and if you it doesn't roll over.
So if you don't use it, and it's also like
(39:34):
you don't, it wouldn't be used all the time by
every team because again, a lot of teams would just
be waiting for the opportunity to need to use it.
And if you're winning, there's really no need because what
if then you start to lose and you need it later.
So I don't think it would be the fact that
people be using the gold in the bat all the
time every game. I think they should do the first
ten games in the season try out because we've got
(39:55):
the pitchclock going. It's been a great addition to the game.
We got the DH in both leagues. I think it's
been great. Both were met with I don't think this
is going to work, but by purists and people who
are just like casuals or want to be more than
a casual, like, oh cool, Yeah, it's been great.
Speaker 5 (40:11):
Do the gold in the bat more offense?
Speaker 1 (40:13):
So yeah, I mean, listen, I love gold the bet
and it loves golden showers. You know, there's both that
there's a thing for about them. You said you wouldn't
tell anyone, Okay, all right, Boom boom boom. We're feeling
pretty good. The Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow showed out three
million bucks for one of those batmobile replicas. I was
watching a TikTok if I'm telling Jamar Chase about this.
Did you guys see it? No?
Speaker 4 (40:33):
I saw the batmobile, but not the TikTok really, Oh
I saw him?
Speaker 1 (40:35):
Micd up, you see it?
Speaker 5 (40:36):
Yeah, I saw that one.
Speaker 1 (40:37):
It's like miked up and it's like I got bought
a batmobile and he's like saw casual. He's like the
real way.
Speaker 4 (40:42):
He goes, you have it, and he goes, I don't
have it yet. I hate for it though, so I'll
get it in twenty twenty five.
Speaker 1 (40:48):
Yeah, that guy? What's that guy like? Like Joe Burrow, Like,
what's he like? I feel like we don't really know
exactly what he's like. I feel like we know exactly
what he's like, and we wouldn't want to be friends
with them, but we'd want to be the quarterback of
our teams.
Speaker 4 (40:58):
Oh, I want to be a friend with them.
Speaker 1 (41:00):
I don't think you would. I think he's such a
such a an a a type a personality that demands
all the attention all the time. But you have to
be that to be that, Like you don't, you're not
him in that position that successful without being that. It's
like dating an artist and you're like, well they're kind
(41:22):
of weird. Well no, that's what made them the great
artist they are to get to this point or even
knowing it, like all the artists are crazy. You got
to have a screw loose to even be in the
in that world. In business, now, hopefully it's the right screw.
Because you're a good artist, you can still be somewhat
of a normal human. But it's not a normal human job.
You're not thinking like a normal human. Creatives are not normal,
and so I think you would want to have him
(41:46):
as your quarterback. This is just me, but I think
he would be like demanding so much attention alpha dog
a do my way all the time that you'd be like, oh,
not for my friend. Though, like probably cool to have
him as a casual, like he does some cool stuff.
You can go with him, be part of the group. Yes,
that would be cool. I think that would be.
Speaker 4 (42:03):
The case with Joe Burrow because him and Jamar hang out.
Speaker 1 (42:08):
I think they do well. Hang out is interesting because
they play college ball together, so they probably have a
good relationship. But once you get to be an adult
and like, it's like with and I don't know, he's
not married. I don't know if Jamar is married.
Speaker 4 (42:20):
I don't think either of them.
Speaker 1 (42:21):
But even like with the radio show with the Bobbybone Show,
like we used to all before we moved to Nashville,
we used to all hang out all the time. But
it's before we had kids, it's before we had families.
I don't have kids, but it's before there were all
these things going on, and so you would hang out
when you were young, So I would guess they probably
do hang out, like.
Speaker 4 (42:37):
Maybe just go to each other's house, watch a game,
play video games whatever.
Speaker 1 (42:40):
Will they forever know because the real life doesn't mean
they're not as close, but like other things, kind of
hop in.
Speaker 4 (42:46):
But they're legit friends right off the field.
Speaker 1 (42:48):
I would think I was watching on talking about the Batmobile.
Speaker 4 (42:49):
That's true. If you tell them about the Batmobile, they're
they're good friends.
Speaker 1 (42:53):
They were just talking. They're just talking. Yell. Yeah, yeah,
it's pretty cool. It's pretty cool. Eddie wanted to argue
that Army should be in the college football playoffs. You can't.
Army is not good ten on man, how do you
argue that? And they may like beat two lane and
then they may beat Navy, and next thing you know,
they're like twelve and yeah you just won. You just
(43:15):
did the next thing, you know, twelve and one, and
you're not gonna put them on the playoffs. That'd be crazy, okay,
And I love America. Well that's the part you have
to remove from it because you have to go I
love the troops, but Army as a football team, it's
it's not the same conversation. And you're going next thing,
you know, after two more wins, next thing, you know,
(43:36):
they'll probably be Navy. Yeah, I think they'll be Navy.
They may you know, the two lane. Who knows, they
may beat both of them, dude, but still, and if
they do beat both of them, you just have to
put them in. No, they won't get They're like, yeah,
see that's what I'm saying. They need they need a petition.
They needed to go undefeated.
Speaker 4 (43:51):
Yeah, and the one loss was Notre Dame, right and
they got Yeah.
Speaker 1 (43:55):
And they got run pretty Oh yeah that was bad.
Speaker 4 (43:56):
That was recent, the last couple of yeah, a month
or so ago.
Speaker 1 (43:59):
That was a Yankee stadium. Yeah yeah, it's really cool, man,
cool to see a football game. We all looked up, like,
and there's more.
Speaker 5 (44:11):
Yeah, that's so.
Speaker 1 (44:12):
Something we just learned. I did not know is that
Casey New York Casey who talks about his love by
the way, dude, what's it's it's a joke now the Jets.
Oh yeah, Casey is like, what are you talking about?
Speaker 5 (44:25):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (44:26):
It's like and Aaron Rodgers like, I still want to
play for the Jets.
Speaker 5 (44:29):
Yeah, I don't think it's like built built.
Speaker 1 (44:31):
We just redid our house and I mean anyway.
Speaker 5 (44:35):
No, I mean I don't think so. I think we've
we've all seen enough.
Speaker 1 (44:38):
Like I root for you now that they just stayed terrible.
You can have that's what I'm better draft capital. Oh yeah,
that's anyway. I feel sorry for Casey on that because
I'm a fan. We have this kinship if we just
expect things to go wrong because I always have and
they do.
Speaker 5 (44:53):
Yeah, yes, yeah, they.
Speaker 1 (44:54):
Always have, they always will. We'll say it right. But
Casey was like, yeah, I play guitar. None of us
had any idea Casey played guitar. No, Because we were
just singing a song like just for fun. He started
doing the bassline. I'm like, you know the bassline too.
Speaker 5 (45:04):
I was moving up the fretboard, the imaginary foot board.
Speaker 1 (45:06):
The song was now I thinking back out and I
don't know all the words to it, but I was like, yes,
he's on a vacation for he starts doing that, and
Eddie's like, oh, you know something about music, I'll play guitar.
I was like, wait, what news? Yeah? For like how long?
Speaker 5 (45:22):
Twenty years and so.
Speaker 1 (45:25):
I stopped a conversation there because this is like twenty
minutes ago before we turn the MIC's back on and
we have a guitar come on. Oh and Casey was like, okay,
we hand to him.
Speaker 4 (45:35):
Yep, do you sing too?
Speaker 3 (45:37):
Uh?
Speaker 5 (45:38):
Not really well, but I can try and hum.
Speaker 1 (45:40):
Well, is this kind of did you move to Nashville
to play? It's a great question.
Speaker 5 (45:44):
Well I came here for audio engineering and stuff like
that and always played, and I figured being here.
Speaker 1 (45:49):
In Nashville read number two reds starting to get jealous here,
So what is like your what's your like, what's your
favorite kind of music? Well, like he talks like something
I wrote too.
Speaker 5 (46:05):
Now, I mean, I know you do that Mount Rushmore thing.
So if on my Mount Rushmore would be the Beatles,
led Zeppelin, John Mayer, and maybe like Stevie Wonder.
Speaker 1 (46:17):
A strong for would be. So again, this is unfair,
and I don't know really what you play, but like
when you say like Stevie Wonder, I think of like
the superstitious riff that's y Yeah, yeah, he plays. Dude,
he didn't know I was gonna ask him that. No,
he's a real player, you know, the bog Bone. The
(46:37):
song wake Up Way shows here in town.
Speaker 5 (46:44):
I played with my wife. My wife's actually a singer.
House played the House of Blues in San Diego.
Speaker 1 (46:52):
Man, who are you?
Speaker 5 (46:53):
I know, I am one of the kinds and what.
Speaker 6 (46:58):
What?
Speaker 1 (46:58):
And so I don't even know what to ask him,
because well, the House of Blues is interesting, Like, so
your wife played there and then you just played with her.
I played guitar for her.
Speaker 4 (47:06):
Do you know who Marcus King is?
Speaker 5 (47:07):
Of course I know Mark.
Speaker 4 (47:08):
He's like, he's like a god. Right, He's awesome.
Speaker 1 (47:10):
He's the new guy.
Speaker 5 (47:11):
He's the new guy.
Speaker 1 (47:12):
He was just we just did a bobyast with I knew, Yeah,
he was awesome.
Speaker 5 (47:14):
I was putting it together for you.
Speaker 1 (47:16):
Yeah, I don't know. Just give us a little something, man,
I don't know. I know that's the hardest thing to ask.
Somebody will be quiet though.
Speaker 5 (47:28):
It's a little att of tune.
Speaker 1 (47:29):
Yeah, we did tune it for sure. You want to
play name that? See if we can name O. That'd
be cool, cool because that way you can just play
something commercial. This is a classic rock, just like seventies.
Speaker 5 (47:43):
Hold On, Hold On, Hold lot a LFE. It sounds
like it, but it's just more contemporary.
Speaker 1 (47:48):
Oh it is more contemporary, more contemporary than that. How
arrest tastes like all my brothers something, But it's more contemporary.
I have to have with this.
Speaker 4 (47:56):
Went to the bathroom like this more than I didn't
know what that was.
Speaker 1 (48:01):
I looked down out and I thought it was uly.
It was a squirrel with some Come on, what do
you got? What's that is that? Arisman?
Speaker 5 (48:09):
Who do you think I was? But John Mayer?
Speaker 1 (48:11):
Oh yeah, that that would have been too deep to
deeper than I wouldn't have gotten that. Yeah, okay more
John Mayor? Thank he's going Mayor like you?
Speaker 5 (48:23):
Casey who.
Speaker 1 (48:28):
No no, no, no no no oh yeah so that one.
Where did you start playing? Where did you start playing guitar? Where?
Speaker 8 (48:34):
Like?
Speaker 3 (48:34):
When?
Speaker 8 (48:35):
Why?
Speaker 1 (48:35):
Who? Uh?
Speaker 3 (48:36):
So?
Speaker 5 (48:37):
I've My dad was a huge classic rock fan, huge
professional air guitar player, So anytime we went out somewhere,
he would always put led Zeppelin up like full blast,
and we would do like the led Zeppelin like the
Black Dog. Yeah, I need a.
Speaker 1 (48:50):
Pick but here, Hey, real player didn't pick. Real player
just using their fingers and guts it out. He can
do it, dude can play. Yeah, you can play. He's legit.
Dang wow, I don't know if we did our musician
(49:15):
rankings just on this show. Get Kevin the Goldfish. It's like,
oh yeah, yeah, yeah, Yet n I wanted to put
Kevin or me on the list. What do you mean
because we're not real musicians. I like you play. I've
had to learn bare minimum to play to be funny.
So can I Yes, not that guitar. I'm left handed,
(49:36):
but Eddie can obviously play. Read sings and play. These
guys are good though. Man reads a really good and
now I think Casey's even better. Maybe it's playing, but
read probably he's definitely a better guitar player. Doesn't claim
to be a great guitar player. He claims to play
guitar because he's a singer. Yeah, it don't be insulting
to read. No, I'm not just what he's hurt.
Speaker 3 (50:01):
Day.
Speaker 1 (50:02):
Okay, Well, well let's take a break. Well, hey, place
to break, Casey.
Speaker 5 (50:06):
We're gonna go to brink. It'll be great. You're going
to break to be great.
Speaker 1 (50:12):
Oh now read with harm forgetting to go to great?

By Josh Allen's ex claims she was hacked. So what
was funny was so Josh Allen announces, hey, we're engaged
him and Hailey Steinfeld.
Speaker 5 (51:35):
Yeah, hey we're there bye week or something.
Speaker 1 (51:37):
Yeah, and you know, it was on his knee and
there's a big thing. And so then there was a
like a a response Instagram response and it was like luckily,
I think his extra Luily, my boyfriend owns a team
and doesn't play for one, don't have to be with
another brain dead CT athlete. Yeah yeah, And she's saying
that that was hacked and that was a ship. Yeah, Okay,
(52:01):
Like if you're going to hack someone's account, you probably
try to sell all their friends like something. They don't
use it to just like take a shot at your.
Speaker 4 (52:08):
Very specific yeah yeah yeah, yeah yeah.
Speaker 1 (52:11):
So but I would probably say the same thing too,
that's weird. I got hacked well, that's what you yell,
but it's like someone we're going to hack you. They'd
probably use it for more than just making a comment
that you probably actually felt. Sure. Allen's ex Britney Williams
in exchange and follow rash Williams haven't found the next
pro athlete yet, and she responded no, She posted on
her Luckily, my boyfriend owns a team. That doesn't you know? Also,
(52:32):
who's your new boyfriend?
Speaker 4 (52:34):
His boyfriend owns a team, Brittany Williams.
Speaker 1 (52:37):
Yeah, because I saw that, and if it's not like
an NFL, like if my wife's gotta fight with somebody,
I was like, well, my husband owns a team, and
I'm like, we down part of a pickleball team actually,
like the same thing. Yeah, I didn't know what what
she was even talking about. So if you see, let
me know.
Speaker 4 (52:57):
I'm looking.
Speaker 1 (52:57):
Actually I don't even care that much. So if you
keep looking, that's that's free. Whatever boyfriend doesn't own a team,
maybe should get hacked then, hm, that's no, that's if
you hack somebody, you want to use that account for
something fun and good or monetarily advantageous. Highest paid football coaches,
top five college Yeah, yeah, college. Guess them top five.
(53:21):
I'm gonna go Ryan Day. Ryan Day at number number
five with ten million, makes ten million a year?
Speaker 5 (53:25):
How about Dan Lanning?
Speaker 1 (53:27):
Dan Lanning did not make the list. Dabo Dabo comes
in at number two eleven point one, Sark Sark at
three ten point six, Herby good one, Kirby Smart number one,
thirteen point two million. You're forgetting so now Dion makes
five point nine million, he's way down. Lincoln Riley. Lincoln
(53:47):
Riley is at number four. Nice so the top five
Kirby Smart thirteen million, Dabo eleven, Sarkisian ten point six,
Riley ten million, Ryan Day ten million. Who's overpaid of
those five? That'd be my guest. That's tough. You see
where they were saying Lincoln Riley UCF wants to talk
to Lincoln Riley about the head coaching job, and then
(54:08):
he's like, no, USC's home. But the fact that that
would even come out, that's.
Speaker 5 (54:11):
Yeah, wow wow.
Speaker 1 (54:13):
You know, because our boy left you u F to
go be the offensive coordinated FSU. Yeah, I did see that,
so which Chip Kelly's yeah, yeahs on left. Chip Kelly
kind of made it cool to do that, because it
doesn't mean you suck. It means you don't want to
deal with all the bs and being a coach now
in the portal, because there have been coaches like Saban
or even in basketball like Virginia's head coach, where they're like,
I can't deal with this environment. And so to me,
(54:35):
it wasn't Chip Kelly, which was the UCLA program that
had it was gonna have to dig forever to be
back even or it wasn't like Gus going I suck
because he has a winning record. You see, if it
was him going, I don't like having to do all
this stuff now that college football head coaches have to do,
Like I want to coach ball. Yeah yeah, and so
that's what's happening. Mike Norvell Florida State number six. I
(54:58):
would be over well I say that, but that's where
Gus is going. No, yeah, NOMA went Memphis to Florida State, crushed,
almost made the championship last year tournament and George Travis
got hurt, didn't make it this year. They even have
a ball, like the show to the game, nobody brought
the ball and they're like, ah, yeah, it's bad. It
was bad that they won two games, right, two games.
Speaker 5 (55:19):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (55:19):
Yeah, and he blew out his whole staff, just about
offensive core, defensive coordinator. Yeah. But yeah, he gets another
year for sure because he really had done great things there.
But I think if he had a five or six
win season this year, he'd get another year, and if
he did pretty good, he'd get to stay again. But
if he has a mid year next year, he's out.
I mean it's even a mid year, he's out next year.
Speaker 4 (55:41):
They were bad.
Speaker 1 (55:42):
Yeah, what's that? A and M guy doing was his name,
the one that got paid a lot of money and
Jimbo we went to doing doing nothing. He's chilling sitting
collecting checking. That's cool. That's really cool, sitting collecting checks.
NFL review real quick. So there are a lot of buys. Yeah,
are there like five or six buys? Is the Ravens teams?
Speaker 3 (56:03):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (56:03):
I got Lamar on a bike.
Speaker 1 (56:05):
And what sucks for fantasy is this is the last
week for people to get into the playoffs and it's
a pretty heavily buy And if you look at most
waiver wires, there aren't a lot of quarterbacks left now.
No Jets and Dolphins. The Jets are in Miami, Dolphins
are minus six. Can the Dolphins still make the playoffs
that they needed to win that game.
Speaker 5 (56:25):
Yeah, yeah, so I think it's low mathematically possible and
not possible.
Speaker 1 (56:31):
Yeah, Falcons and Vikings, Well, what's fun. Well, first of all,
Kirk Cousins been struggle, Like he's on that bus. He's
on the struggle bus. Lots of picks, something's wrong with them.
He's not able to throw the ball.
Speaker 5 (56:40):
Yeah, everyone's asking for Pennix now, Yeah.
Speaker 1 (56:42):
And I think that the reason they're not going to
go to Pennicks, at least not now, is they've known
Kirk's been hurt. They're not saying what it is, but
you can tell something. He's he can put nothing on
the ball, and you're seeing that he's not throwing deep.
Even the alts that he's stowing, there's nothing on them.
They would have gone to Pinnicks probably if he had
been so hurt that it was affecting the game so
(57:04):
much that Pennis would be a better option.
Speaker 5 (57:07):
Yeah, that Achilles, though I don't know man.
Speaker 4 (57:09):
By any play at Minnesota this week yet to keep kirking,
that's exactly.
Speaker 1 (57:13):
What he's going home.
Speaker 5 (57:14):
Kirk Cousins revenge, going.
Speaker 1 (57:15):
Back in ye to get the Vikings five and a
half pint favorite Vikings. Man, how about that? You told
me the beginning of the year, we thought they were awesome.
We thought they'd win the Super Bowl.
Speaker 4 (57:24):
No, no, no, no, that the Vikings at.
Speaker 1 (57:27):
You're thinking of the Vikings thought they would suck. We
thought McCarthy would be the quarterback. There's going to be
a bad year. They got a good Kevin O'Connell their coach.
You're gonna develop a good young quarterback. They're going a
few games would be bad, it'd been It's like the
total flip of Florida State. Yeah right, yeah, but now
the Vikings are really good and Sam Donald's gonna make
a lot of money. And you know the backup is
(57:48):
in Minnesota now, Daniel Jones. That's right.
Speaker 4 (57:50):
Have you signed with them, y Dimes? I did not
even see that.
Speaker 1 (57:54):
Uh. And he'll probably end up being good because he's
gonna have actually, like a good system to work on her.
That's exactly what Sam Donald did in San Francisco is
what yeah, Daniel Jones is doing in Minnesota.
Speaker 5 (58:03):
And coach it's the same tree and Daniel Jones beat
them in the playoffs a couple of years ago. So
O'Connell's probably like, you know, teach us, you know how
how did you get.
Speaker 1 (58:11):
And O'Connell and O'Connell's from the Shanahan family, so good
for him. Panthers at Eagles, Eagles, big favorite Bryce Young though,
shout out to my boy Bryce Young, like maybe not
one of them all. He looks good. You stood behind him,
never left, I never wavered when he stood next to
Daniel Jones do in that overtime game. It was like
a young kid in a adult man. And Daniel Jones
(58:34):
is a big dude. Brown's at Steelers, Steelers six and
a half point favorite. Steelers are good. How about rust
On for four hundred yards last week?
Speaker 5 (58:41):
I mean comeback player of the year maybe, even though
I don't know what the award is really because.
Speaker 1 (58:45):
You can't be it's not an injury award, which they've
now said. It's not listening to the.
Speaker 4 (58:50):
Other day though. I think he's fifth or six because
he wasn't injured. Though, like the injury guys take precedent.
Speaker 1 (58:55):
I thought you couldn't be had a heart attack last
year that Joe Flacco want its crazy. I thought the
rule was they were trying to say if you're injured
in comeback, that doesn't matter. It's if you sucked and
or better that matters. Yes, you may look that up
because I know there was big, a big dispute about that,
and I didn't think it was an injury.
Speaker 5 (59:15):
No one knows how to vote for it.
Speaker 1 (59:16):
Yeah, yeah, so Bucks and Raiders Bucks went that. Who
cares about the game anyway? Seahawks the Cardinals again, who
cares about the game anyway unless you have fantasy people
in it?
Speaker 8 (59:26):
Right?
Speaker 5 (59:26):
That's it?
Speaker 1 (59:27):
Like, what is even the most appealing game? Chargers at Chiefs?
Speaker 5 (59:30):
Yeah, I mean if the Charges could somehow win, it
would make things interesting for the seating.
Speaker 1 (59:35):
I mean Falcons and Vikings most interesting because of Kirk
Cousins playing against the Vikings. Again, it is not very
good weak for like exciting games. What do you see, Kevin?
Speaker 4 (59:45):
So it looks like it's if you missed time previous
in the previous season, whether it's illness, physical injury, or
other circumstances, so then you're eligible.
Speaker 1 (59:53):
What was the rule then, because because again as soon
as they changed the rule this season.
Speaker 4 (59:57):
Yeah, because of Joe Flacco.
Speaker 1 (01:00:00):
From last year, which is crazy that you Yeah, DeMar
Hamlin didn't win that. That's that's pretty cool, But I
don't think he should have won it. Why he was
he came back from death. He didn't come back from
being He didn't come back from being a good player
of the year before to being a great player of
the next year. But he was fine the fact that
he even stepped. But that's a life. That's like a
CNN award. That's not a sports award, guy, because you
(01:00:21):
can be just a special teams player and almost die
and you play the next year and you do good,
you don't get the award for comeback Player of the Year.
What about Tua this year? That's like a mid season
comeback Like, yeah, I don't know, I don't even care.
I was like, do I have do I want to
fight and have an opinion? And I don't don't. But
(01:00:42):
I would just say, because you almost died does not
mean your comeback player the major your life. You come
back life life a life thing. Maybe that's like an
undefeated team, like, I mean, he almost died. Here's your award,
no argument, and you should get one of those. But
like comeback players should be like you used to be
good and then you kind of got hurt. Or you
had a bad but then you know you're good again,
which is Russell Wilson.
Speaker 4 (01:01:03):
Joe Burrow is a favor right now because he used
to be good then he got injured. But his wrist, Yeah,
he got injured exactly.
Speaker 1 (01:01:08):
Okay, so they're still an injury component. But I feel
like if you just were fine and then you almost
die and you come back, that's not enough. And if
you don't come back and be dominant. Yeah, yeah, because
it's not like demr Hamlin he's good. He's good.
Speaker 3 (01:01:23):
He's not.
Speaker 4 (01:01:23):
He didn't even really start last year. He's starting this
starting last year.
Speaker 5 (01:01:26):
It's actually this year.
Speaker 1 (01:01:27):
I think they were scared to play him, Like, yeah,
you're sure you want to do that?
Speaker 4 (01:01:30):
Man considered that award is not worth dude.
Speaker 1 (01:01:34):
Okay, one final thing and then I'll wrap up the episode.
Thanks going to Joey Logano for coming on Eddie claims
he made a fifty yard field goal. Real talk, awesome
is a real thing with you so much. Yeah, we've
seen you kick, and you do. You are a decent kicker. Yeah,
but he didn't make a fifty yards You're dude, You're
exactly right. I've never made a fifty yard field goal
before but after Thanksgiving, I took my kids to a
little field, the middle school field, and we're all just
(01:01:55):
kicking field goals for fun. And I'll and I made
a thirty. I was like, let's push your back to
fort went forty, and then I made the fifty. I
think the wind was just right. Okay, so hold on,
So where did you kick it from? Get from the
fifty yard? From the fifty yard one? I kicked it
from the forty Okay that is yeah, it's fifty. So
the ball was on the fifty yards, it was on
(01:02:17):
the forty yard line, and you get the ten yards too. Yeah, yeah,
end zone. Dude, It's crazy. I'll even record my kids
telling you. They'll be like, yeah, no, no, no. If
you're going to record something, you record you make it. Hey,
I'm gonna record Kevin telling you I made a seventy
yard field goal, Daniel, I'll believe. Well, here's the twist.
There weren't any lines on the field, so we kind
of had that.
Speaker 4 (01:02:36):
You know what I mean, that's not a twist.
Speaker 1 (01:02:38):
That's a whole new set of parameters on what you've
made and what you did. And you know how when
you were like in elementary school, you do the big steps,
what we did that? Or it's how you like time
the forty Once you got older, you're like, I don't know,
I'm just gonna measure it. Yeah, now you made a
four to one, No, bro, that's twenty eight yards.
Speaker 4 (01:02:53):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:02:54):
To my kids though, I was like a superhero. You
know what, And if that's the case, we'll let it list.
I'm gonna fight you on it. Good job, dude, Good
for you, man, Good job because you were honest about it. Well,
accept all right, that's funny. Ready to measure it off.
My kids measured it, not mean with my long leg steps.
All right, that's it. Thank you guys. Mike. Is there
(01:03:16):
anything I'm forgetting I need to do? You're good? Okay,
George is gonna be Texas guys, you said it. Don't
even need the points. You don't even need the points. Sorry,
they'll offer them. Oh. By the way, Texas did look good.
I didn't give you your your hear your few flowers, Mike.
Texas looked good against a mediocre Texas A and M team.
But they did go into a kid yeah now, hold on,
hold on, hold on. But they did go into A
(01:03:37):
extremely like rabid Kyle Field. It was crazy in there.
Speaker 4 (01:03:41):
Crazy yeah, like.
Speaker 1 (01:03:44):
I've only ever seen a few atmospheres be like that.
And it was awesome the walk out when they were
showing the fans and then they showed the A and
M cometal, it was like I had chill bumps. And
there's no reason because I would have been happy if
both teams were eliminated. I mean even when they were
down at the half, they were still crazy either. Yeah,
Texas has a great defensive line, like unbelievable. Uh I yours.
(01:04:07):
I don't know. He gets a little to me. He
gets out slightly less awesome every time I watch him play.
Speaker 4 (01:04:12):
Yeah, they're saying he's good at his ankle, but he
still looks slow and limping.
Speaker 3 (01:04:16):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (01:04:17):
I do have a when you were signed copy of
College Football twenty five. Really he's on the cover.
Speaker 3 (01:04:24):
Huh.
Speaker 1 (01:04:24):
How'd you get that? Worry about me? Here's here's about me.
That's just random that you got, like, uhh yeah, the
college football signed. Yeah, don't worry about me though, you
know what I'm saying. No, I'm not worried, not worried.
The cover of the game, it's the game. Yeah, yeah,
the game, but the disc in it and it's open sealed, No,
I think I I think I opened it to play
(01:04:45):
the game, like I need the game. I think I
wanted to see if it was also signed on the disc.
Oh okay, or they had to peel off the seal
to sign it, because that might have happened too. They
had to pill off that outside. So yeah, so the
game might still be sealed. But even then, I sometimes
I just get like I'm twelve and I want to
see it and touch it and hold it. Yeah, that's
a good win. You guys needed something, so I'd shut
(01:05:06):
up and you didn't need that, but just for me, like,
because you have played nobody and so now you guys
have a mild win. That's a good a mild win,
but in a really hard place to play, so pretty
good win. That's a pretty good win. So I was
happy for you. I hate Texas, but I was happy
for you and only you, and that's it. Nobody else
because everybody like Texas can screw off. By Ricky, he
(01:05:26):
can scro off too. Well. I appreciate that. Yeah, that's
a big deal. Welcome, You're welcome, all right, that's well,
