Speaker 2 (01:05):
Whists stuck in fun Ball and they were a whist
So yeah, it's too bad, But what did you expect.
Speaker 1 (01:12):
It's a podcast called twenty five Whist souls wine, Oh
blow it up right? We do have RG three coming up?
Or is that called a mister G three?
Speaker 3 (01:24):
That was funny.
Speaker 1 (01:25):
Well, you never know when you don't know somebody and
we actually share an agent, I don't know if he
knew that. And I never want to be the guy
that's like we have the same agent, because.
Speaker 3 (01:34):
Legit like to share an agent, well, to have an
agent one is.
Speaker 1 (01:38):
I didn't say that to get this reaction. For the record,
my point was you never know if like somebody you know,
because what if like he's like, I'm like, hey, we
have the same agent and he hates him. Oh It's
like if you're like, oh, we have a mutual friend
Jim and it's like I hate Jim, I'm like, oh
that's awkward because yeah, like Jim and I he Jim
(01:58):
smashed up my window, impete in the and we don't talk,
so I didn't want to be like, we got the
same age and RG three, mister G three, but we do.
That's pretty cool, And that was it, so by it
felt awkward to bring up. He was nice, right, he
was warm, way warmer.
Speaker 3 (02:14):
Is so nice.
Speaker 1 (02:15):
I had no expectation of that. He wouldn't be nice,
but sometimes people are just so pleasant to talk to
while also being really good at their job. And that's
how I felt with him. But he's coming up.
Speaker 3 (02:25):
Is it cool when people know your name? I mean,
I know he sees probably on the list like, oh,
I'm talking to Bobby Bones, got it. But when they
call you Bobby, isn't that cool? Like that they call
you by your first name and automatically feels like he
knows you.
Speaker 1 (02:38):
Well. That's why we're saying he's warm because he did
the little things. He had no idea who I was.
I'm virtually certain, but I felt like he did. I
never expect anybody to know who I am, nor do
I think they will. We're in what's called like pocket fame.
We're in a little pocket. Everybody's kind of famous at
something like if you're just trying, you're kind of famous
(03:00):
at something I never suspect anybody knows anything about me,
So I do not think he knew who I was
before he went on. And if he did, that's awesome,
But I didn't think about that. I just thought he
was good at what he did and he felt warm.
Because there are little tricks that even if you don't
know somebody, hey, you just say somebody's name, they will
like you more, just generally in life, Like if I
(03:20):
just meet Kevin and we're like, hey, we're gonna work together. Hey,
let's go to lunch, talk about stuff, and I'm like, yeah, Kevin, Kevin, Kevin,
not weird like that, But if you say the name,
it feels like an investment, like they know who you are.
Even if it's subconsciously, you feel like, oh, I like
this person more. They're addressing me specifically.
Speaker 4 (03:36):
Yeah, Because most people will just say, and I do
it all the time, what's up, man, man, or nothing
at all, and you don't lose anything by it. But
there is gain in things like saying someone's name, eye contact, smiling. Now,
if you do them all a little too much at
one time, it's a little.
Speaker 1 (03:52):
Weird, it's creepy Kevin, But all of those the greatest politicians, actors,
the greatest communicators are those that do those little micro
communications the best. And I don't know if you knew
I was or not. I don't expect him to, but
he was great at that and that could have been
(04:14):
why he was so warm. Anyway, we're here, got a
lot of games this weekend. The really cool one is
the Buffalo and Baltimore game. Yeah, like that's there are
a couple of games that I'm really excited about. There's
one I give no craps about it all, but the
Baltimore Buffalo. One of those quarterbacks is going to be
sad and is going to continue their legacy of the
(04:34):
quarterback that can't do it in the playoffs. And both
of them deserve at some point to win a super
Bowl because they're are they the top three court mahomes
And then those two Oh yeah right, I mean, Burrow,
you got to put in in the conversation, but I
mean that they're two and three. However, you want to
switch them, right, yeah?
Speaker 2 (04:55):
Yeah, So.
Speaker 1 (04:57):
It's like Phil Mickelson to Tiger Woods, though weird time
to exist. If you Phil Michelson any other decade, he
would dominated you win multiple majors. These guys any other time,
they probably win multiple Super Bowls, and they still might.
But we're in a golden age of the quarterback.
Speaker 3 (05:15):
But even if they would have just gone to another
the conference, like if one of those could be in
the NFC, they have a really good chance at winning
the Super Bowl.
Speaker 1 (05:22):
Probably. There's a lot of what the environment is, who
the coach is, what scheme is, et cetera. But we're
we're in the golden age of the quarterback, and a
lot of times we don't know we are while we're
in it. We only know we are when we're out
of it. Not even just this specifically, but different eras. Yeah,
we got to appreciate now like we're in it. But
the league rules have also made that able to be done,
(05:45):
meaning you obviously can't hit the quarterback well any harder
than they deserve. You can't you know, hit them low,
you can't hit them high. East, canam West, can North.
But that protects their ability to do what we celebrate.
And so therefore this era is kind of presented to
(06:06):
us and it's awesome, and we got Mahomes at one.
Let's just put Lamar at two for the sake of
the argument because I don't feel like arguing. At three,
we'll put Josh Allen, or we will go to a two.
B who gives a crap at four will put Joe Burrow.
That's four, legit, guys. Okay, let's go to five. Somebody
suggests a five because I think that's where the gap is,
(06:26):
right from that A tier to the B plus tier.
I think right there is where the next set of
quarterbacks goes. GoF No, I mean, I'm trying to give
some love to the NFL.
Speaker 5 (06:39):
I think that.
Speaker 1 (06:42):
The trouble with Gough is he was seen as not
as good for a long time. He was traded. Yeah,
he went to Detroit. He was just and he wasn't
a throw in, but no one expected him that whole thing.
We're gonna trade all these picks and okay, Golf for Stafford,
even though Golf have been to a super Bowl, but
he was never seen as the guy. So what happens is,
(07:04):
and I would say, I can compare this into the
business world. There are people that were my bosses when
I got hired into this company or when my show
become a syndicated show thirteen years ago, that are still
my bosses. That are still in this company, they still
look at me as the guy that I don't know
if he'll make it. It's intern syndrome, Like you hire
(07:26):
somebody as an intern, but they end up being a
freaking massive executive. The people that are there that saw
them as the intern still see them as the intern.
And there are people that look at me in the
same way and they're like, well, you're still just the
dude that you're like, oh, he's crazy, let's risk it
and see if he'll do it. And that's just natural.
Same thing with Jared Goff, like we still see him
as I don't know, he's a ram. He kind of sucks,
(07:48):
but he's kind of good. But he's really not going
to be great, but he's awesome.
Speaker 3 (07:51):
Yeah, I mean, yeah yeah.
Speaker 6 (07:52):
The thing about these eight tier quarterbacks too is that
they're you know, they can run and they can throw.
I feel like goth is just really a pocket passer,
very good at it actually with this team, but that's
really what's separating these two tiers.
Speaker 1 (08:03):
Great point too, about that golf doesn't have a lot
of because well we love to see are dynamic run
hurdles like run through, run through somebody, all that like
that's what so so he's also not doing that, and
he's also got so many weapons compared to his own weapons,
(08:24):
he's not dynamic. Yeah, okay, I can put golf in
the level two categories such.
Speaker 5 (08:30):
A drop off, such a drop off, because then you
talk talk about.
Speaker 1 (08:35):
And I think that's that category, right, So I'd put Hurts. Boy,
Hurts almost was that so close he was there. I
would put Jalen Hurts. I would put golf Jordan Love.
I think has it has gotten into like the ball
(08:56):
he come he came up through the id put him
in that second. Because in my mind there's four categories.
There's the a's, the bees, the seeds that didn't quite
maybe you either thought they would. And then the d's
who are just overrated and only have a job because
they happen to be the twenty ninth best, or they're
lucky that so and so's backup is under contract. Yeah,
(09:18):
or a team is not wanting to spend money and
they're gonna lose for a bit. Yeah, like that they
would be like to aid o'connells. That would be like
the Gardner Minshew type games.
Speaker 3 (09:26):
Yep.
Speaker 1 (09:26):
But that B category, I mean you got to put
I think you put Stroud in there, Baker.
Speaker 5 (09:33):
We didn't put Stafford on there, did we.
Speaker 1 (09:35):
I think, for a second, I think Stafford was up
in that A. Yeah, he like winked at it for
a minute, because even though he was great in Detroit,
they didn't win. So I don't think when that's if
you're not winning, I don't think you can be up
in the A even if you're amazing. But then he
got moved to LA and he winked at it and
won a super Bowl. Yeah, and then they suck because
they people were tired, you know. They they went all
(09:56):
in their first round pick, they went all in. Absolutely.
Speaker 2 (09:59):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (10:00):
So yeah, he has a talent for sure, but hasn't
been on enough winning teams to like live in it.
Speaker 7 (10:05):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (10:05):
But man, when he's rollings, they can win against the fight,
they can get to the super Bowl. I don't think
they will be shocked. But but it wouldn't Yeah, I
wouldn't be, Like this is unbelievable. Could you take him
in the NFC? Like which NFC quarterback in it now
is better than him?
Speaker 8 (10:21):
Like?
Speaker 5 (10:21):
Who would you rather have than him?
Speaker 1 (10:22):
Great question? Yeah, So okay, let's just go the NFC
teams Detroit Lions. Would I rather have Jared And this
is the big trade. I think I'd still rather have
Matt Stafford. Yeah, I would too, I'd rather per the trade.
Then they would rather have Matt Stafford because they give
up golf and a bunch of picks. The difference is
Stafford is going to be done before golf is right, Yeah,
the Stafford's probably got maybe next year, and then you
(10:44):
start to flirt with maybe not, who knows. Yeah, I
I think I'd rather have Stafford than Jalen Hurts. I
would different quarterbacks seems more clutch. I think I'd rather
Now are we in a vacuum a single season? Right now? Okay,
going into the playoffs right now, I'd rather have Stafford
(11:06):
than Hurts. Yeah, Okay, the I'd rather have Stafford than
Jay and Daniels. Yeah, if we're going only this this playoff? Right,
So of the four teams, I think Stafford is the
NFC quarterback I like to have the most. Yeah, and
he's won a Super Bowl. He talking to Matt Castle.
(11:29):
Dudes apparently like a genius as far as remembering things
like is he's like, dude, remember like the sixth play
they called in twenty thirteen on it and something like
McVeigh has that they have to be together. They happen
to be together, So I'm sure that's that's it. But
he talks about Stafford that way. Whoa like he can
just remember everything.
Speaker 3 (11:48):
I can't remember what I did yesterday.
Speaker 1 (11:49):
Dude, where are we right now?
Speaker 8 (11:52):
You know?
Speaker 1 (11:52):
Uh so here are the games on Saturday? You got
the Texans again? Correculation, This Texans your a Saturday game.
You know, if there's an NFL game on Saturday and
the postseason and the Texans are in the playoffs, just
ride it down. It's there. Put it put on a tablet,
like because the NFL thinks, probably the Texans they haven't
been around long enough to have a massive fan base,
they haven't won a lot to have a massive fan base,
so they put them in the least desirable spot.
Speaker 3 (12:14):
Do you see their halftime show last week? Love Mariachi
band not mariad cool man.
Speaker 5 (12:20):
What's the difference.
Speaker 3 (12:21):
Mariactu. They got the hats and all the bells and
the violin and everything that Hanno's like, it's more like
a band with like drums.
Speaker 5 (12:30):
Like a Mexican band.
Speaker 1 (12:31):
Yeah, Okay, good question. I would have said, ones at
a restaurant, ones not, that's probably a better way, like
you No, No, that's not a better way.
Speaker 3 (12:39):
Then band is not going to go to your table.
Speaker 1 (12:41):
Correct. I would think it's to Hano band is just
like pop Mexican my mind, is just like a pop
Mexican band with guitars and stuff, but just from Mexico
that they're probably not called Tejano in Mexico. They're probably
just called a band.
Speaker 3 (12:51):
That would be a band.
Speaker 1 (12:52):
I don't know if that's true. Would that be accurate? Yeah,
like Manacchi doesn't plug in, they're just like I'm not
fighting from my perspective, I'm just saying that's what I
would have said. We only call it a to Hano
band because it's like a popper rock band from Mexico.
But if you go to Mexico, it's probably just a band.
Speaker 3 (13:12):
Yeah, Well to Hana is a Texas Mexican band.
Speaker 1 (13:17):
Texan oh, Tohna Texas, Texas and Mexico. Right, to Hano Mexican.
Speaker 3 (13:22):
No, like I'm a Titano, like I'm a Texan born
and Mexican, right, I think that's just what you're saying Spanish, right,
Mike So.
Speaker 1 (13:29):
Like Miranda Lambert is technically tana. I always thought it
was a Texas Mexican, or like the family was from Mexico,
or like they were Mexican.
Speaker 3 (13:40):
George straight to Hano.
Speaker 5 (13:42):
Ben So the team named the Texans like the hands. Wow,
they should change it to that.
Speaker 1 (13:51):
My mind is blown. Yeah, so I guess maybe a
person that I'm thinking would be called a text Mexican.
Speaker 3 (13:58):
Like the food.
Speaker 5 (13:59):
Yes you're thinking of, not choose?
Speaker 1 (14:00):
I am, I didn't know that. That's good? That okay.
Also on Saturday, the Commanders and Lions a good game.
I think these are the least desirable games.
Speaker 3 (14:12):
You don't think the Commanders can be a contender?
Speaker 1 (14:14):
Here a little more, Jaden Daniels Matt No, I don't interesting.
I think Detroit takes BTA and goes bright. You know,
well yeah, belt, yeah, let make surebody knows it again,
because one time I said it, nobody I got it.
That's why they're the Saturday games. I think those are
the least interesting games. I think the Chiefs probably take
(14:36):
it to Houston to how knows, and I don't know
how Washington stops Detroit. Yeah, I die don't that's a
difference that that is the difference. And then on Sunday,
Rams and Eagles. That's a good game. That's a seven
out of ten game, Like that's exciting. I'm not super
super INChO in either team, but I'm quite interested in both.
(14:58):
Both have B level storyline. That's again, that's a fun game,
and either one of those teams winning the NFC, I
would not be shocked by the only time I would
be shocked by the NFCB the Commanders that won the
NFC because it's so wide open. Yeah, every the Lions,
the Eagles, or the Rams to go to the Super Bowl.
H Okay, I could kind of see that coming. But
(15:21):
then the Ravens and the Bills six thirty I guess
five thirty Central on Sunday Night on CBS Paramount. Plus
that's the thing, man, that game that's gonna be so
tense for those guys, Like I'm nervous for them and
I don't give a crap about them.
Speaker 6 (15:35):
Yeah, I just hope it's not a blowout like the
game during the season was, because I think Ravens blew
them out thirty five to ten. Oh, I just gotta
hope it's a good one.
Speaker 1 (15:42):
That was in Baltimore. That was in Baltimore though, so
and this is in Buffalo, and then it's the playoffs.
I don't know, actually the forecast, would mind looking at
forecast for Sunday.
Speaker 4 (15:54):
Be sad that one of those two quarterbacks is going
to be our same Yeah, it's like America Stories.
Speaker 5 (15:59):
Can you to the NFC for a little bit or something?
Speaker 3 (16:02):
Could it be where like the whole game, both of
them just run the ball the whole game, like, yeah,
screw the team, I'm doing this, and lamar myself and
then Josh give me the ball.
Speaker 2 (16:14):
I'm doing this.
Speaker 1 (16:16):
I think they've already had the MVP voting, Okay, So
so I don't know that any of them can prove
anything at this point. They just probably want to win
the game. But that'll be a fun one. I hate
that one has to lose. Two sucks because I'm not
totally invested in either one same and it sucks that
because they're both competitors, they are both so freaking good.
It sucks that they both can't win. But I'm not
(16:39):
going to advocate for participation trophy and division weekend Reid.
Speaker 9 (16:43):
So Saturday, the highs are thirty nine degrees with the
low of eighteen degrees. It's going to be cloudy with
rain and snow in the morning, with a little bit
of snow in the afternoon.
Speaker 1 (16:51):
And that's great. That's the day before the game. What
about the day of the game.
Speaker 10 (16:54):
Oh yeah, on Saturday, on Saturday, I mean Sunday. Yeah,
sorry weather man here. Eighteen percent chance of snow flurries.
High of twenty two degrees, low of ten cold.
Speaker 3 (17:05):
That's very cool.
Speaker 1 (17:06):
Yeah. I guess Baltimore, though, they're going to be fine
and cold because they're used to it, and Derek Henry
is just like the X factor.
Speaker 3 (17:11):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (17:12):
Odds makers as far as overall odds to win the
Super Bowl, the Detroit Lions at plus two to eighty five.
They are the favorite. A lot of that favorite is
that they're on the side of the bracket that they
think they can win the most, and then you put
them in the Super Bowl. Uh. Then you have Kansas
City at two, Philadelphia at three, Baltimore and Buffalo tied
(17:33):
for fourth, and all those are they're pretty close. The
Rams Commanders Texas. You know, I think I should take
a fly on the Rams. They're a plus twenty two hundred.
Oh and I don't think they're going to win the
super Bowl, but that's a great they could definitely make.
That's a great odd to put ten bucks on it.
Yeah right, I'm doing that now because if they lose,
it was only ten bucks. But if they win, you're like, man,
(17:55):
I thought they were better than what they were being
given credit for.
Speaker 5 (17:57):
And yeah, and you can even cash out if you
get there.
Speaker 1 (18:01):
Dude, you're telling me.
Speaker 3 (18:02):
It's ten bucks. Well that's when you don't cash out
and it's ten dollars.
Speaker 5 (18:06):
Yeah, but then you can hedge it and or put
it on the AFC team, the Chiefs.
Speaker 1 (18:13):
The lines are Chiefs are minus eight right now in
Kansas City. That'll be probably a cold game read cheaps weather.
Let's see Sunday in Kansas City. Oh, yes, Saturday. But
it's like they had to deal with two bad like
the Chiefs, which is the most popular team, and the Texans,
(18:35):
which are probably the least popular team. It's like they
had to decide which team do we want to focus on? Andy,
I guess they couldn't put it like Saturday at midnight,
which middle ground.
Speaker 9 (18:48):
I have twenty five degrees low of nine degrees.
Speaker 1 (18:51):
It looks so cold in the Stadium because that stadium
is old too. Everything about playing in Kansas City, like it.
Speaker 3 (18:55):
Hurts is arrowhead old.
Speaker 1 (18:58):
Yeah, it's been around for a while.
Speaker 5 (19:00):
Yeah, I think it's called Geha Stadium.
Speaker 2 (19:03):
Now what is it?
Speaker 1 (19:05):
But I mean, I guess it's still referred to it.
Speaker 5 (19:07):
Right, because that's what everyone knows about legally.
Speaker 1 (19:10):
You know they have done to jail.
Speaker 3 (19:12):
Oh true, g e a field and it's in the
shape of an arrowhead.
Speaker 1 (19:16):
Dude, I don't know. I've just been there. I've never
been to a game there, but I've been a Kaufman Stadium,
which is at the baseball They're right beside each other,
and so I go watch the Royals play, and then
it's like, there's what the Chiefs play.
Speaker 3 (19:25):
That's cool.
Speaker 5 (19:26):
Nineteen seventy two.
Speaker 6 (19:28):
Dang, that is old school.
Speaker 1 (19:30):
Lions are minus nine and a half. That is in Detroit.
Eagles are minus six over the Rams Baltimore, minus one
at Buffalo, so they're a point favorite in Buffalo. That's fun.
I'm looking forward to it. I'm looking forward to Chiefs
should just run away with it in that game quick,
so I can spend time with my wife. Yes, so
(19:51):
then I can use that time for other games you
build points. Yeah, I would love him to be up
like by twenty one and a half so I don't
have to watch second half and then I can just
go hang out with my wife. So when I do
want to break away later, it's not as much of
an ask, which she will always say yes to.
Speaker 8 (20:06):
But I know.
Speaker 1 (20:08):
To not be able to hang out with me, that's tough. Yeah,
Or I do this, but you can watch the game
with me. She never want that too. They never want
to watch, but you watch the game with me.
Speaker 2 (20:19):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (20:19):
So a fun weekend ahead DraftKings is crowning a king
of the end zone every NFL game day this weekend.
It's super easy to do. You place a five dollars
pre game bet on an offensive player to find the
end zone, and if they have the longest rushing or
receiving touchdown that day, they are king of the end
zone and you want to share of two million dollars
in bonus bets. Think about that, a five dollars pre
(20:42):
game bet, you can be the king of the end zone.
It's like Derrick Henry to me is a for sure
end zoner, but is he the longest? Like That's where
it gets a bit tricky. He does have breakaway ish
ish speed. He can but like sake one would probably
be a guy as far as like rushing. Even last
week when he slid right, he that was killer. He
(21:04):
breaks that second level gone money on him.
Speaker 4 (21:07):
You know he's super fast toos James Cook, he is
good to He gets those corners and it's.
Speaker 1 (21:12):
Like dang, yeah. So if I were going to bet
running back, probably Saquon receiving touchdown. That's a crapshoot.
Speaker 6 (21:22):
Maybe Jalen Hurts gives AJ Brown some love after the
whole book everything going on.
Speaker 1 (21:27):
What's weird is when A J. Brown would be mad
he didn't get the ball when they lost. That was
always weird to me because you're not gonna win public
favor with that. When your team is winning winning, you
hold that when you're losing, and then you'd have it split.
Oh yeah, we gotta get the ball, so we got
to win. But if like you're winning, you're like, only God,
I need the ball more. That ain't really politically a
good move.
Speaker 5 (21:46):
Can't back that up? Yeah, no, in anyway can't.
Speaker 3 (21:50):
And what's going on with Cooper Cup, Like they'll go
a whole half of a game without him getting the ball.
Speaker 1 (21:54):
Well, if they're bracketing him the whole time, like if
there if their job is to shut down Cooper Cup,
I feel like the Rams, because they do have Pooka.
I feel like the Rams will go, Okay, we will
let you have that small victory. If not, we'll just
give it to this guy. And I feel like part
of their offensive philosophy is somebody's gonna get shut down,
(22:14):
and you continue to be shut down because you're making
it easier on everybody else. So I don't feel like
Cooper is an AJ Brown type player, which I would
be an AJ Brown type player, like I need the ball.
But I feel like he knows his role in that
offense is if he's being bracketed or double teamed or
or they're they're rolling over on him, he needs to
(22:35):
continue to do that so it opens up the rest.
And he's not gonna pull out a book. If he
does on the sidelines, it be like cat in the hat.

Heisman winner former NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year RG
three Robert Griffin the third mister G three. Robert was
Jade Daniels before Jane Daniels was jayde Daniels. Oh yeah,
and had he not been hurt, he probably would have
been killing it for years in years to come the
same draft. Remember that they took RG three and then
(24:03):
Kirk Cousins.
Speaker 5 (24:04):
Oh yeah later on in the yeah fourth round or something.
Speaker 1 (24:08):
Yeah. He now does his own podcast and YouTube channel
with his wife called out of Pocket with RG three.
Check it out. We love spending time with him here
he is RG three. Hey, mister G three, Hey, what
do people what do people call you? They call you
Rob the RG three. What are people like that? Like
meet you for the first time, I call you.
Speaker 2 (24:25):
Mister Bones.
Speaker 11 (24:26):
People who meet me for the first time call me
RG three, But it's it's just my initials. So you
can call me Rob Griff three if you want to
call me RG or if you want to call me
RG three, go for it.
Speaker 1 (24:37):
Yeah, he gets like I've been following your career, Like
I know people that know you and they're like we
love them, but like first time you meet him, if
it's formal, mister G three like that, So we really
appreciate you spend a little bit of time with us.
I want to start obviously with the quarterbacks and Ravens
and Bills, like that's the game. Both quarterbacks have a
(24:58):
different pressure on them, but a lot of pressure on both.
Who's got the most Is it Josh Allen or Lamar Jackson?
Speaker 11 (25:05):
No, I mean it's it's Lamar Jackson. And you know,
the bottom line is this is an MVP showdown, Like
this is the kind of game that you wish the
MVP trophy could actually be on the line during this game.
To have it in the divisional round shows you that
the football gods have really been looking good upon us
and blessing us in this moment. But but honestly, the game,
(25:28):
there's more pressure on Lamar because of how he has
performed in the playoffs, especially in his second game. You know,
the stats support that. You know, he's won the majority
of his first round games, but in his second game
in the playoffs, his numbers are really really bad, not
numbers that you would expect from a two time MVP.
And Josh Allen, other hand, in the playoffs has actually
performed extremely well. I think his QBR is over one hundred,
(25:51):
or his quarterback rating is over one hundred. He's just
run into a buzzsa all a bunch of times with
Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs. So I think
there is more pressure on Lamar Jackson being the two
time MVP, But I don't think it comes down to
whether or not Josh Allen or Lamar Jackson plays better.
I personally believe it it comes down to the running backs,
Derrick Henry and James Cook. In their first matchup in
(26:13):
Week four, James Cook had thirty nine yards rushing and
Dereck Henry at one hundred and ninety nine. So when
you look at that, the big fellows up front who
don't get the most love in the world, those offensive linemen,
But it's gonna come down to how well they play
and the running backs are going to truly take this
game over and determine who wins.
Speaker 1 (26:29):
Would it be fair to say that there's the most
pressure on Lamar in the playoffs, but Josh Allen's pressure
would be against Patrick Mahomes because other than the regular season,
he has not been able to win that situation.
Speaker 11 (26:41):
Yeah, I think that is fair, But the bottom line
for Josh Allen is he's not going against Patrick Mahomes
in this game. And when you look at the first
round games for each teams, the Ravens beat the Steelers,
and of course the Bills beat the Broncos. But the
Bills went one for five in the red zone against
the Denver Broncos, and if they do against the Baltimore Ravens,
they're not going to win the game. In their first
(27:03):
matchup in Week four, they went one for two in
the red zone. The Ravens went four for four and
blew them out thirty five to ten. So Josh Allen
cannot focus on what could be ahead, and Patrick Mahomes
and the Chiefs, if they both get there, they have
to take care of Baltimore Ravens teams that beat the
breaks off of them earlier in the season. And truly,
(27:24):
it's kind of like a little bit of their kryptonite
right now, because what the Ravens are great at, the
Bills aren't.
Speaker 1 (27:29):
The Eagles did not throw the ball well last week.
They did win the game, but they did not throw
the ball well. You know, you got book reading on
the sideline. It's not like they don't have the receivers.
Was that obviously not purposeful, But do they have to
get a lot better at throwing the ball or are
they just establishing Saquan in the run and then anything
else is just gravy, Bobby.
Speaker 11 (27:48):
It all comes down to perspective here, Okay, if you
want to look at the glass half full, you say, listen,
Sakwan ran the ball extremely well, Jalen Hurts didn't need
to throw the football all that often, and they're going
up against the La Rams, who they dominated in the
running game. I think Saequon had two hundred and fifty
five yards rushing in their game earlier this season as well.
(28:10):
So that's a glass half full if you want to
be negative and you want to look at a glass
half empty. There's no way in hell that Aj Brown
should ever finish a game that he was healthy in
with one catch for ten yards. And I think when
you look at the Eagles Super Bowl run, their passing
game was humming. And when you have guys like Devontae Smith,
Dallas Godd, AJ Brown and Sakwon Barkley also catching passes
(28:32):
out of the backfield, there's no excuse for the Eagles
to not be clicking on all cylinders when it comes
to their passing game. And the only caveat there is
that Jalen Hurts missed the last two games in the season,
So could he be getting back into the swing of things,
you know, knocking off a little bit of rust. Yes,
But aj Brown reading that book on the sideline was
(28:53):
something that I've heard he does a lot. It's not
the first time he's done it. But the way they
caught him reading it seemed like he was trying to
wooz saw himself some Martin Lawrence to make sure that
he didn't know completely freak out on the entire team.
And Ah is a team guy. I got to say
that he's a team guy. He only cares about winning.
He had great spirits on the sideline. But if I'm
a quarterback, I'm not finishing the game with him having
(29:15):
one catch for ten yards. He's getting one catch for
ten yard per drive. Like he's that important to their
passing game. And when he's clicking, they're clicking. They got
to find a way to get him the ball at
least five times in the first quarter of this game
coming up.
Speaker 1 (29:28):
It could be Redskins, Browns, or Ravens. But when you
were playing, was there a receiver that you felt I
gotta get him the ball early just so he stays
involved mentally in the game.
Speaker 2 (29:39):
Who was that, Yeah, my best receiver at the time
was Pierre Garson.
Speaker 11 (29:44):
He was my first touchdown pass in my career against
the New Orleans Saints in the Superdome, so I knew
I needed to get him the ball early.
Speaker 2 (29:52):
But it was also because he was our best player.
Speaker 11 (29:55):
And when you're an offensive coordinator, I know Kellen Moore
is known for having these number one offenses and being
able to do it either through the air on the ground.
But you have that scripted fifteen plays when you start
the game, and you have to find ways to have
at least five plays in that script that you know
guaranteed AJ Brown is getting the football.
Speaker 2 (30:15):
I'm telling you. When you do that and you get your.
Speaker 11 (30:17):
Star receiver involved early, it eliminates a lot of the consternation.
It forces the defense to have to play coverage to
that guy and opens up everybody else in the passing game.
So that would be my note to Kellen moorees get
the ball to AJ Brown. He's your best player.
Speaker 2 (30:34):
I know sa Kwon bark is pretty beastly too. AJ
Brown is your best pass catcher.
Speaker 1 (30:38):
Go get him the Ball Chiefs and Texans Chiefs basically
had two weeks off because all those guys didn't play
the last week of the season. But those guys are vets.
Andy Reid's done it, so they don't need it, right.
Speaker 2 (30:50):
No, they don't.
Speaker 11 (30:51):
The thing I always say about the Kansas City Chiefs
is they're not playing to win like the T shirt
Olympics or or to look sexy during the regular season.
They have one mission, and their mission is to three peat,
and I think they're poised to do it. Their defense
is one of the top five in the NFL, and
they got Patrick Mahomes at quarterback with a healthy slate
(31:12):
of wide receivers, and Travis Kelsey, who seemed like he
took the entire regular season off, is now back a
ready to roll in the postseason, and in their last
game you kind of saw him come to life on
Christmas Day. So for the Chiefs, they they were probably
bored during the regular season knowing that their mission was
to be the first team ever to threepeat, and I
(31:33):
don't think that two.
Speaker 2 (31:34):
Weeks off will bother them.
Speaker 11 (31:35):
It's more of them coming out and establishing the line
of scrimmage on both sides of the ball against the
Houston Texans team that looked really, really good.
Speaker 1 (31:43):
Last week, when Kevin Durant was drafted at Texas, the
story was he's so slight. Yeah, he's tall, he can
shoot for a big guy, for a tall guy, but
he's so slight. Same thing with Jayden Daniels a bit right,
it was he's thin, he's thin, he's thin. With Kevin Drant,
nobody talks about how how thin he is anymore. Well,
that part of the conversation end. With Jayden Daniels, after
(32:03):
seeing what he's done this year.
Speaker 2 (32:05):
I think it's already ended.
Speaker 8 (32:06):
You know.
Speaker 11 (32:07):
I heard those murmurs about, hey, he's too skinny, Can
he take a hit? Does he protect himself? And I
think throughout his first year in the NFL, he's proven
that he's not too skinny, that he can take a hit,
and he's actually gotten smarter about sliding and getting down
to avoid a lot of those big collisions. But the
special thing for me with Jayden Daniels is just his demeanor.
You know, you hear people say the old Stewart Scott
(32:31):
saying he's cool on the other side of the pillow.
This guy, when the stakes get higher, his emotions and
his demeanor stays the same. It's almost like he rises
as the stakes get higher in the game, and he's
got five game winning drives this year. The Commanders have
won their last five games, all on the last play
(32:51):
from scrimmage. So I've heard some people call him the
cardiac Commanders, and to me, it's just you know, right now,
if you're the Washington Commanders, if you get the ball
and you're down by three, you're down by five and
Jadeen Daniels is your quarterback, that you're gonna win that
football game. And that's a situation. If you're the Detroit Lions,
you do not want to let the Commanders hang around
because Jaden Daniels has a knack, especially in his rookie year,
(33:16):
of finding ways to get the Commanders to win the
game and their Cinderella season can continue. And I think
that's the beautiful thing about it. Obviously, I played for
the Commanders and I'm very excited about the team and
what Jaden's done. There's no better city to win in
than in Washington, DC. But at the end of the day,
the Detroit Lions are the favorites to win the Super
Bowl right now, and if you're them, you don't want
(33:37):
to allow the Cinderella story to continue. Don't let them
hang around, Otherwise Jayden Daniels will beat you.
Speaker 1 (33:43):
So speaking of Jayden like that reminds me of your career.
And so my question to you is, how do you
go in as a rookie into a position that is
traditionally the leadership position and lead when everyone's like, dude,
you're a kid, Like, how hard is that to do?
Speaker 2 (33:58):
It's very hard.
Speaker 11 (33:59):
And listen, I have, you know, the honor to play
with guys like London Fletcher, who calls the games I
believe for NBC, you know, during the during the week
and during the postseason for the Commanders, I got to
play with with Santana Moss. And when you walk into
that locker room, you got two legends that you've looked up.
Speaker 2 (34:17):
To your entire life. Basically, uh I see that.
Speaker 11 (34:20):
As being essentially similar to what Jayden experienced walking into
a locker room with Bobby Wagner as your middle linebacker.
There's a certain level of respect that you have towards
that player, and the number one thing you have to
do is show them you don't got to tell them.
Don't tell them what you're gonna do. Don't tell them
you're gonna do this and we're gonna do that. You
show them what you're gonna do. And that's what Jayden did.
(34:41):
He went in, he worked his tail off, he earned
their respect, he earned the starting job, and now he's
shown them with his play that he is their leader
and that they should follow him. He's he's risen the
level of everybody around him. Their leading receiver last week
was Diami Brown. I know who Diammy Brown is. I'm
sure his family and friends know who he is too,
But that was a career game for him, and he
(35:02):
had big plays in the biggest moments, and Jaden never
even batted an eye at throwing the football in his
direction in those moments. So to me, I just look
at what he's been able to accomplish, and I'm very
obviously proud of what he's been able to do. But
he has shown them that they can trust him and
they can believe in him.
Speaker 2 (35:21):
Look at his reaction.
Speaker 11 (35:23):
Go back and watch his reaction after Zaye made the
field goal to doink them into the divisional round. He
didn't react at all because he has a higher mission
in mind. It's not just about winning one playoff game.
He wants to bring the Super Bowl back to Washington, DC.
And I think that's what he's going to eventually do
in his career, and he has a good chance of
doing it this year.
Speaker 1 (35:44):
How slow were the defenses in high school to you?
Speaker 7 (35:48):
Like?
Speaker 11 (35:48):
Was it?
Speaker 1 (35:49):
Yea turtles?
Speaker 11 (35:54):
Now like, you don't realize it until you get out
of it. Okay, So I grew up in a one
thousand square foot home.
Speaker 2 (36:01):
If that.
Speaker 11 (36:02):
Well, when I turned pro in my first house was
six thousand square feet. So when I went back after
a few months of living in that house to the
house I grew up in, you tell yourself, holy cow,
I didn't realize that this house was actually this small,
because when I grew up in it, I thought it
was a mansion. So when you go back and you
(36:23):
watch high school football after you've been in college for
a few months, you realize the how high of a
level college football is. My biggest offensive lineman was Let
me take that back. My starting center in high school
was five ten, two hundred and fifty pounds. My starting
center in college was six four, three hundred and twenty
(36:43):
five pounds. So just from your eyes and what you see,
it's completely different. It's a completely different game. So when
I watch high school football now, yes, it's the slowest
thing I've ever seen. It's like watching basketball at the
YMCA or at Lifetime Fitness.
Speaker 2 (36:59):
You're like, oh man, that's that's something you know. Did
they it's part it's part of it.
Speaker 1 (37:04):
They have you played multiple positions when needed in high
school because you were the athlete I did.
Speaker 2 (37:09):
I played quarterback and I played safety.
Speaker 1 (37:11):
So and you played both ways all the day like
you were. You weren't like the nickel or dime guy
like you were the safety.
Speaker 2 (37:18):
No, I didn't play. I didn't play both ways the
entire time.
Speaker 11 (37:21):
Now, you know, like Travis Hunter, Yeah, playing every single snap.
Speaker 2 (37:25):
White out and dB. I did not do that.
Speaker 11 (37:27):
I played spot duty safety, which basically meant if we
were going against a team that had a guy that
was faster than everybody else on the defense, then they
put me at safety because that was my child. Hey,
just go run that guy down. Okay, go run that
guy down and make sure he doesn't score. But uh,
I actually started off playing outside linebacker and quarterback, so
that was fun for a little bit. But uh no,
(37:48):
I didn't I didn't play full time both sides of
the ball in high school.
Speaker 1 (37:50):
I feel like if you're playing linebacker, if you're playing
off ball, there's a lot of finger and risk injuries
that can easily happen. I didn't want my quarterback who
needs their fingers, wrist and arms like. I think that's
probably why I would not. Even though you're like the
great athlete of the conference division state, I wouldn't want
you to play a linebacker, right, that had to be why?
Speaker 8 (38:09):
Uh?
Speaker 11 (38:10):
Yes, if we were we threw the ball a little bit,
we ran the ball a fair share, and had an
all state running back behind me by the name of
Troy videl Uh serving the military, my brother you know,
appreciate his service. But playing linebacker and having a long
arm guys and set the edge of the line of
scrimmage and make sure everything gets turned back inside can
be a little bit more difficult on the shoulder region,
(38:31):
if you know what I'm saying. So that that's probably
why I stopped playing linebacker.
Speaker 1 (38:35):
The jump from high school to college or the jump
from college to pros which speed differential shocked you most?
Speaker 11 (38:42):
Ooh, I think the jump from that is a tough question.
That is a very tough question. See Boby, this's while
you do this. I would say the jump from from
college to the NFL was more drastic because when you
go from high school to college, the talent travels with you.
Speaker 2 (39:03):
Right.
Speaker 11 (39:03):
So I used to go to camps in the summer
and I'd be throwing the receivers, who are five star,
four star guys.
Speaker 2 (39:08):
Going all these big schools. They catch everything.
Speaker 11 (39:11):
You know, you throw it at their toes, their baby
towneil on their pinky toe, they scrape it off the ground.
They make a great player. They make a one hand
of grab behind their back. I didn't have a ton
of that in high school. I had great receivers though,
but not a ton of that. Well, when you go
to college, now all those guys are coming with you.
So the talent level is a big jump, but the
(39:32):
talent around.
Speaker 2 (39:33):
You is also a big jump.
Speaker 11 (39:35):
I feel like in the NFL, you take the one
or two guys I played against von Miller in college.
Speaker 2 (39:40):
He went to Texas A and M.
Speaker 11 (39:42):
Well, now there's like seven von Miller's on one team
and they're all rushing you at the same time. And
now your offensive line doesn't have the advantage because you
don't got to focus on one edge. You got to
focus on both edges, and that to me is where
the speed difference kind of became bigger. And the hashes
are tighter in the NFL than they are in college,
(40:03):
so there's more space to cover for the defense in
college than there is in the NFL. So everything is tighter,
the throwing windows are tighter. The talent is every single
guy on the field with somebody in high school and college.
They were all American in high school, all American in college,
and now the whole defense is all Americans. That's why
it's a lot more difficult in the NFL. Tighter field,
(40:26):
better athletes, and.
Speaker 2 (40:28):
They're getting paid.
Speaker 11 (40:29):
So if you score a touchdown on them where they
miss a tackle, it's taking food off their plate. And
I don't think people understand how hungry guys are when
they get to the NFL because they have to take
care of their families.
Speaker 2 (40:40):
That's a big.
Speaker 11 (40:41):
Difference then growing into becoming a man.
Speaker 1 (40:43):
In college football, as kids, we would watch our favorite teams,
it didn't matter with the sport, and we had freaking rivals.
Like grew up a Cubs fan hated the Cardinals. Grew
up you know of Cowboy fans. I'm super close with
hated you know whatever. O they're NFC So.
Speaker 3 (40:57):
For Redskins, sure fair enough?
Speaker 1 (40:59):
Yes? How real is that in the locker room? Though? Like,
how does that translate? And if it does, is it
media driven that makes you hate the other team or
do you at all?
Speaker 11 (41:08):
I think it's it's a combination. It depends on how
long you're there.
Speaker 2 (41:12):
Right, I go to Baylor.
Speaker 11 (41:13):
Our natural rivals were the teams that used to beat
the crap out of us all the time. So like
Texas and Oklahoma probably didn't look at us look at
Baylor as a rival, but we certainly looked at them
as rivals. And when we eventually beat them there when
I was in college, it was a big deal.
Speaker 8 (41:29):
Uh.
Speaker 11 (41:29):
But TCU was was one of our rivals. A and
M was one of our rivals in the NFL. It's
almost like your you guys ever played Dungeons and Dragons?
Speaker 1 (41:40):
Familiar with it?
Speaker 2 (41:41):
Okay, you're familiar with it. I've never played, by the way.
Speaker 1 (41:44):
Well, I only said familiar with it because I didn't
want you to feel like we were judging.
Speaker 11 (41:50):
Like I have never played Dungeons and Dragons, But I
mean you know, real life action, live playing all that
what they call them Larper's. It's almost like you're cos
playing whatever team that you're on. You never hear a
player say, man, this fan base is just the worst, right,
(42:11):
It's always hey, man, this fan base is the greatest.
Speaker 2 (42:14):
Where they're the best, they're awesome.
Speaker 11 (42:16):
So whatever that fan base is passionate about, the players
become passionate about because you want to endear yourself to
the fan base. You want to endear yourself and your
teammates to the people who are supporting you, paying for
the tickets. You know, really, the reason that we even
have a job in the first place is because of
the fandom that they have of these teams. So if
(42:37):
you're the Bears, yeah, you're gonna hate the Packers, If
you're the Commanders, you're gonna hate the Cowboys and the
Eagles and the Giants. And I think it becomes real
the longer you're there. If you're there for three, four,
five years, that's real hatred. It becomes ingrained in you.
It's no longer cose playing it. But when you step
(42:57):
foot into a rivalry and the first and you say,
as a starting quarterback, the Chicago Bears is you know,
f the Packers. It's not really real. You know, you
don't really you don't have any experience with that. You're
just cobs playing that in the moment. But I will
say for guys that were on teams that I was
on for multiple years, it becomes real quickly because of
(43:19):
the animosity between the fan bases.
Speaker 3 (43:22):
RG three. How much football do you actually watch? Because
you know, Bobby and I we have we talk about,
you know, telling our wives like, hey, well this is
important to us. We're actually going to watch this game
or work. It's work versus all day Sunday. How much
football are you actually watching on Sundays and especially the
playoffs here?
Speaker 8 (43:40):
Right?
Speaker 1 (43:41):
Yeah?
Speaker 11 (43:41):
I mean for me, I watch the games and and
the NFL has the app now where you can basically
stream the games even if they're not shown in your
whatever part of the country that you're in, which I
used to hate that, right you're stuck with no offense,
you know, the Jaguars going against against the Titans, and
you want to watch the evens and the Bills, you know.
So I do watch a ton of football on TV
(44:04):
when they're actually the games alive, but that pales in
comparison to the amount.
Speaker 1 (44:08):
Of football that I that I that I feel like
I have to watch after.
Speaker 11 (44:12):
The games are all done, breaking down the film so
that I can be educated when I talk to you guys.
Speaker 2 (44:17):
I want to say this is the wrong way. But
there's a lot of people out there who are faking it.
Speaker 8 (44:20):
You know.
Speaker 11 (44:21):
I watch all this tape, I do all this, and
they don't really do it, and you can tell when
they start talking about the game. But I don't know
if you guys experienced this in your own relationships, but
for me, it's on Sundays and on the weekend. I'm
a girl dad of four. If you can see, you
know the hoodie here, got this from the daughters. I
did not make make this hoodie.
Speaker 2 (44:40):
They made it for me, So thank you. Appreciate you guys.
But it's Wifey wants to go do things.
Speaker 11 (44:47):
So it's like, hey, we're going to the pumpkin patch,
or we're going to this light show over here, We're
gonna go see Sonic three.
Speaker 2 (44:53):
And I'm like, yeah, but you know, the game's on.
I kind of gotta watch this, and so I she.
Speaker 11 (45:00):
Wins, of course, right, and we go do these different
things and I make sure that I find ways to
watch the game either on my phone or just keep
track of it on social media.
Speaker 2 (45:11):
So that, to me is probably the biggest struggle.
Speaker 11 (45:13):
But it's a struggle that I'm willing to take on
because I enjoy being a girl dad and I love
my family and I want to do things with them
as well as watch football.
Speaker 1 (45:22):
Last question, where do you keep your heisman?
Speaker 2 (45:24):
Right now? It is right there? Do you see it?
Speaker 1 (45:28):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (45:28):
Yeah, you guys in the middle.
Speaker 3 (45:30):
Oh, right in the middle.
Speaker 1 (45:31):
Look, Oh it is right there. Yeah, that's pretty So
I had t Bows in my house for a while.
I think it's very heavy. I was surprised at how
heavy that that like, even when they hand it to you,
are you like, oh god, when you win it, you're like,
oh go god, dang, that thing's heavy.
Speaker 11 (45:43):
Right, Yeah, it's it's it's a good forty five substantial
it's and it's distributed weirdly, you know. It's not like
a plate where you can just grab and hold on
to it. Did you win t Bows on like a
in the auction that he does.
Speaker 1 (45:57):
Luke Bryan is a friend of mine and we were
doing some stuff on you and so we had and
Luke was messing like, uh, Troll and Tebow have a bulldog,
and so he's having the bulldog licked the heisman. So
it just stayed at the house for a couple of days.
It's a whole thing like Okay, we're playing dungeons Dragons,
we're licking. Yeah there, LARPing whatever.
Speaker 3 (46:16):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (46:16):
So you mentioned your family, so out of pocket with
RG three's the podcast that you do with your wife.
How like with her involvement, was she like I want
to do this or were you like, hey, this would
be a really cool dynamic if we did.
Speaker 11 (46:28):
This, I would say that it was It was probably Uh.
Our families are always there for us when when things
go wrong, so I and when they go right of course.
So when when I ended up getting laid off from ESPN,
you know, my wife was the person that I talked
(46:48):
to about really everything, but also sports, and like, hey,
I got this take.
Speaker 2 (46:53):
Would you be able to understand this.
Speaker 11 (46:54):
She's a Stonian, so you know football wasn't you know,
the thing that they really focused on on over there
in Europe. You know, it's more football soccer. So if
she could understand what I was saying, then I knew
that the people that I'm talking to whether it's the
most complicated fan or the fan that doesn't know a
lot would would know what's going on. So for doing
that for three to four years, she became very well
(47:16):
versed in football, which is obviously the world that I existed.
But she's also the record holder at Florida State in
the heptathlon, so she's a great athlete of her own
that we connected via track and field. That's a big
bond for the both of us. And I was like,
you know, I kind of want to do this podcast thing.
Let's have some fun, and I wanted to do it
(47:38):
with her. I wanted her to be my co host.
I feel like she adds so much more to the
dialogue of not just football but life, asking people the
questions that people really want to know, not just hey,
what's covered to you know, what's double lurk cover zero?
They want to know how these people are as family
and and who they are behind closed doors. When we
(47:59):
sat down with Notre Dames Marcus Freeman and we asked
him about raising six kids, and he started to talk
about how his wife was the reason that he's able
to do the job that he's able to do and
why they're in the national Championship now, and I think
people want to hear that. So for me being able
to do this with my wife is something that's truly special,
and I think that she would probably say the same
thing that when things hit the fan, we looked at
(48:21):
each other and said, let's just do this together. And
it's been a great journey so far.
Speaker 1 (48:25):
Attitude.
Speaker 2 (48:25):
It'll continue to.
Speaker 1 (48:26):
Be Attitude The List podcast and YouTube out of Pocket
with RG three. Mister G three, thank you for the time, man.
Really you're awesome. Yeah, I heard it. I've heard You're
awesome dude to be around, and I appreciate it. And
hopefully we get a great playoffs and maybe i'll see
you one damn person. Thank you very much.
Speaker 2 (48:43):
Do we'll make it happen. Appreciate you, Bobby Seebody bus Brother.
Speaker 1 (48:46):
Playoffs. We're talking playoffs, Yeah, you bet.
Speaker 3 (48:48):

Slash audio. I was watching some Auburn basketball and I
(49:54):
saw Janai got hurt. He did well, he has like
a few days ago, like friend's ankles so bad, like
a non surgical really terrible ankle sprain. So we did
too much access with Auburn basketball last year and Jenny Broom,
their star, like had a bad, bad sprain. They thought
it could have been a lot worse. But he's out
for I think a while. Here weather Man read, do
(50:15):
you mind seeing how long Journey's out? Not that he listen.
It sucks being an Arkansas fan right now. Our football
team and our basketball team we're zero and four sec play.
It's terrible. So I found myself on an SC network
watching Auburn.
Speaker 5 (50:29):
They're really good, right, really.
Speaker 1 (50:31):
Good, and I don't hate him, and we spent time
with coach Pearl and played on that court. Aubert's not
hateable anyway, unless you're Alabama. Like they're not like Arrival.
Speaker 7 (50:40):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (50:40):
There's just something that's not detestable about Auburn. So Charles
Barkley love too right, No, no, no, do you ever
hear Charles Barkley talk about why I picked Auburn. No,
because he went on his recruiting trip and they all
sucked and he's like, well, I can play here. He
watched him practice and it's like these guys sucked hilarious
because he only got recruited, like all he didn't get
(51:01):
because he didn't grow until late, like he didn't turn
to the le Bloomer. Yeah, but he went to Auburn
practice and thought they sucked and was like, oh, I
can play here, and that's why he went to Auburnan
which is funny.
Speaker 9 (51:14):
Says right now he's out indefinitely.
Speaker 1 (51:17):
Jennier out, not good. Eddie thinks he may be stronger
than kick off. Kevin saw it, So let me just
resets real quick. We were working out and there's a
one hundred pound ball that you have to lift up
and throw over your shoulder. It's one hundred pounds. It
(51:37):
is a heavy ball. It's way heavier than it looks.
It is concentrated one hundred pounds into a ball. Don't
even know what's in there, but it's heavy. Punds good point,
like what's in there? How can you make that size
thing that heavy?
Speaker 3 (51:51):
And what I don't understand is the fifty pound ball
is just a little smaller than the hundred pound ball,
but it weighs double the weight.
Speaker 1 (52:00):
So we had finished recording lots to say our NFL show,
and Kevin produces that, and so Kevin stayed back and
he's doing whatever the audio I don't know, mail it
to somebody whatever, he does lick at the microphone. I
don't know what he does, but all I know is
I left to go and meet up with Eddie, read shoots,
lots to say, and we start working out, and a
(52:23):
third the way through the workout, clues like, all right,
here's one hundred pounds ball boom. Kevin is walking through.
Kevin's in great shape, Kevin's very strong, and they start
to like tease, Kevin, can you do it? Kevin? Come on,
ket and I feel bad for Kevin. Kevin's in jeans,
he got a hat on, and I know the pressure
that Kevin what feels because Kevin's like in shape and
(52:44):
got muscles, and he you guys are pushing him. I
wasn't pushing you. I thought you weren't stretched. I did
not want to put you in that situation. But Kevin's like,
I'll do it, let's go. Yeah, And so Kevin does it,
and I don't know what you get. Four one. He
just did it one time.
Speaker 5 (52:58):
I just did it one time just to see what
it was like.
Speaker 1 (53:00):
And it was heavy, but also you were not in
a place to where you were loose enough to give.
Speaker 5 (53:05):
It a real go no, And it was like twenty
degrees out.
Speaker 1 (53:08):
Well, but we were also out in the twenty degrees.
Speaker 4 (53:10):
Yeah, but you guys are like a half hour into
your workout, you're sweating, yes, and all that.
Speaker 1 (53:13):
All that I agree with. Yeah, but Eddie thinks he's
stronger than you because he watched you do it once cold.
Speaker 3 (53:19):
I did it what five times? Six times?
Speaker 1 (53:21):
You didn't do it six, So let's not I'm crazy.
Speaker 5 (53:23):
It was it was your record, whatever it was.
Speaker 1 (53:25):
Your record was five.
Speaker 3 (53:26):
Probably five then yeah, five man, But I was feeling strong.
Speaker 1 (53:29):
Nothing to do with Kevin. That doesn't mean you're stronger
than him. You you had done it before one other time. Yeah, yeah,
and the environment to you you were loose. You had
done it with a fifty pound ball to get.
Speaker 3 (53:41):
Loose warmed up a little bit.
Speaker 1 (53:42):
Yeah, it was unfair for you to say that you're
stronger than him.
Speaker 3 (53:44):
Well, you know, you look at Kevin and like you said,
he's he's a pretty ripped dude, like he's looks built
and everything. And when when he got down there to
pick up the ball, it was kind of slow.
Speaker 4 (53:55):
He was in jeans, dude, yeah, sneakers yeah, and like
a big old flannel only get a good grip on
it and a hat.
Speaker 5 (54:01):
See I didn't get the grip underneath.
Speaker 1 (54:03):
I quote Kevin might be the weakest out of all that.
Speaker 3 (54:08):
You did not because read how many did you get?
Speaker 1 (54:10):
I got?
Speaker 3 (54:11):
I got?
Speaker 9 (54:12):
I got six, but it was technically five.
Speaker 1 (54:14):
You did not get six. It was a minute in
three second inflating our stats here, I will not allow it.
This is not the steroid era, So to be clear,
it's it's six and one minute.
Speaker 4 (54:22):
You have to beat yeah, fifty nine point nine seconds. Yeah,
so I didn't do one in one minute. I just
didn't one just because you guys are like, hey, just
try one.
Speaker 3 (54:29):
Pretty sure it took you about thirty seconds.
Speaker 1 (54:31):
To do what this was his instruction. Yeah, I don't
need to send up for you because it Yeah, I
have faith in you.
Speaker 3 (54:37):
I'm just saying when I saw Kevin do his thing,
in my mind, I'm like, wow, he's not that not
as strong as I thought he was. And then I
saw us do the five both you did seven, and
then under a minu I'm like, gosh, I think Kevin
may be the weakest out of all of it.
Speaker 4 (54:50):
So you can base that off of just one rep
of anything in jeans and jeans, Yeah, cold.
Speaker 3 (54:55):
I feel like if Arnold schwarz and they were win
showed up, he would have gotten that ball. And yeah,
and then this is not heavy.
Speaker 4 (55:02):
But you like struggling well, comparing me to Arnold Schwartzenegger,
I don't know how comparable that is when it comes
to strength.
Speaker 3 (55:12):
Not in bodes, you don't think a little bit.
Speaker 1 (55:13):
I thought I thought you were very wrong for that, okay,
And I think that Kevin is stronger than probably all
of us. Dang.
Speaker 4 (55:19):
I was over there rooting Eddie on and all that
while he was getting his Hey, if I wasn't there
rooting you on, or if I wasn't putting that pressure
on you, you think you would have gotten your new
pr Yeah, I don't know.
Speaker 3 (55:28):
Maybe not.
Speaker 1 (55:28):
I think you got a little pumped up. There was
a new audience, so I help you, and then you
just knock me down home. I didn't even get the
new audience. I don't think Kevin even watched me.
Speaker 3 (55:37):
Did you watch bum Yeah I did.
Speaker 7 (55:38):
I did.
Speaker 5 (55:39):
But that's right when I was walking up, You're like,
we're in the middle of he was peeking.
Speaker 1 (55:42):
Yeah, he's giving me the O come up to the
window late at night.
Speaker 5 (55:45):
Look at I's tell you guys from a distance, I
didn't see what's going on.
Speaker 1 (55:48):
Someday, Vin, Someday, I got seven, which for me is
my record. And I'm telling you your heart is pounding
out of your chest doing his crab. I think that
ball is heaviest crab.
Speaker 4 (55:56):
The hardest part is yeah, picking it up, deadlifting it
and then squatting back down, get in the right grips.
Speaker 1 (56:00):
All that jeans I know, I do want to do this.
I want to play a clip here. We had Ian
Rappaport on Lots to Say, And so if you go
over and you google, I guess not Google, but if
you search wherever you podcast Lots to Say. It's Matt
Cassel and myself and we were talking about the latest
coaching situation in Dallas, if the Vikings will keep Sam Darnold, etc.
So here's a clip from Lots to say, what do.
Speaker 8 (56:21):
You think is the most attractive job in your opinion
for any of these head coaches that are coming out
because obviously the Jets there there are going to sit
there and you don't know if Aaron Rodgers is coming back.
The pieces in Chicago are very attractive. Jacksonville as well,
with their team, the youth that they have and a
quarterback that obviously has had really high highs but really
(56:42):
low a lot of lows as well, well.
Speaker 7 (56:46):
I would say to me, will include the Patriots in that,
even though it's already been filled. The only thing you're
really looking for if you're a coach taken over for
taking over a job is can you win? Like?
Speaker 1 (56:57):
Can you win?
Speaker 7 (56:58):
What's the infrastructure? Like what are you inheriting? Can you win?
And I think most times during this time of year,
you're kind of like, uh, well, yeah, like I do
want a job, but they don't have a quarterback, or
they're in bad salary cap space, or like they got
to rebuild. Like there's actually a surprising number of places
(57:21):
this year where you could go in and win, Like
Chicago has a quarterback, Like do they need some work?
Yeah they do, but they got a guy. Jacksonville, I
believe has a guy. Is Trevor Lawrence is going to
be Patrick Mahomes? Probably not, but you know, could he
be starting for a playoff team with some better coaching
(57:41):
like he could and he has been like he has.
Speaker 8 (57:45):
Right and divisionally right, it's probably when you look at
Jacksonville and the division that they're in.
Speaker 2 (57:50):
They can go in and win. Now.
Speaker 7 (57:53):
Well, yeah, and like if you look at the roster, like,
they got some pieces. They got three good receivers, they
got a good tight end, they got a good young
offensive line, a tat left tackle who's locked up. They
got a couple of really good pieces off the edge.
And defense, they got a good back end. They have
a highly paid corner. They have a really good linebacker
who's the first round pick. I mean, that's a lot
of good players, right, so and then you know, so
(58:15):
I think those are some of the better ones, and
a surprising number in Dallas. It's like if you're the
Dallas Cowboys head coach, it's a lot okay, Like I
can't even It's like almost nothing else in sports where
you're the head coach slash spokesman, slash Carnival Barker slash
you know, frontman, like all of the things. Just it's
(58:38):
like it's the most all encompassing coach job in sports.
I can't compare it to anything else. But they got
Dak Prescott, they got a good offensive line with some
good young pieces. They got some great receivers. They got
Micah Parsons and a couple all pro corners, like they
got some dudes so you can win there. The toughest
(59:01):
one for me, which may eventually end up being Ben
Johnson's shop, is Las Vegas, but they have Tom Brady
and that in itself for people who like to be
associated with people who are awesome, it's a pretty interesting
place as well.
Speaker 3 (59:18):
Well.
Speaker 1 (59:18):
The Vikings lost to the Rams. Have any say on
what the Vikings do with Sam Donald or did they
already know?
Speaker 7 (59:27):
You know, I would say the Lions game was tough,
and if you were wondering whether or not that was
an anomaly, Donald followed it up with the playoff game
last night, so it's like that game alone wasn't anything
but those two games and then it's almost like the
(59:49):
Sam Donald detractor spent the whole season waiting for that,
being like, all right, well, eventually he's going to turn
into Sam Donald, and then when he did, it's like
every Jets fan in the world text bank yup, I've
seen that guy before, and I'm like, I get it,
Like everyone wants to say, I told you so. I
think a long run in the playoffs would have really
helped him. I don't think it means he's not going
(01:00:11):
to be able to get a starting job next year.
But it does alter the landscape a little bit, like
if you're Minnesota, are you a little little, little little
less likely to give him a long term deal? Maybe
you want to give him the franchise tag instead, or
maybe you want to say, you know what, I've seen
the good, I've seen the bad. It's just not enough
and we got a young guy we're just going to roll.
(01:00:34):
I think it probably at the very least made them
think about, all right, like what really are our options
rather than like, this is our franchise quarterback, let's move again.
Speaker 1 (01:00:46):
Subscribe to that. We appreciate you listening here. If you
want to listen there, that would be super cool.
Speaker 3 (01:00:51):
They crazy, though, huh, like crazy. I talked about Dion
and now it's like a possibility kind of a thing.
Speaker 2 (01:00:57):
Yeah, you leak the story.
Speaker 1 (01:00:58):
You think you had anything to do with it.
Speaker 3 (01:01:00):
I just felt like I said it, you know, just
kind of like that would be cool. And immediately after that,
like it became like, wow, they had a conversation. Now
Dion is having a conversation with Jerry Jones. This is crazy.
Speaker 1 (01:01:13):
Where do you get credit for any single thing that happened?
Because I feel like your tone is giving you some
sort of credit.
Speaker 3 (01:01:19):
No, it's kind of cool, Like you know, you come
on here and we talk about a lot of stuff,
and we're wrong a lot, but whenever you're right like this,
like and then you turn on ESPN and they're having
the same conversation that you just came up with like
an hour ago, it's pretty cool.
Speaker 1 (01:01:35):
Okay, you know what I'm saying. I would push back.
You guys were laughing at no, no, no, no. I
didn't even know he had been fired.
Speaker 3 (01:01:41):
So true.
Speaker 1 (01:01:42):
We came on and I hadn't seen the news that
morning because we were running. I was running back to
back with interviews with the show, and you were like,
McCarthy's been fired. I'm like, what, that's crazy. You can
listen back to it, and then I think any rational
person would go, oh, I wonder if Deon Sanders is
going to be No.
Speaker 3 (01:01:58):
You said, so, what do you like think is going
to happen next? And I was like, I don't know.
It'd be cool to have Dion That's all I said.
He was he was listening, and then all of a sudden.
Speaker 1 (01:02:06):
I think you're missing the point that I think anybody
would have thought Dean Sanders would have been interviewed for
that job.
Speaker 3 (01:02:11):
Really, because when when I would like, say, like other
dads like a basketball factors, They're like, yo, okay, do
you guys really want that? That's not a thing.
Speaker 1 (01:02:18):
I think there's a difference in would the Cowboys talked
to him and would you really want that? Yeah, it
doesn't matter.
Speaker 3 (01:02:23):
I hope pretty cool though.
Speaker 1 (01:02:24):
Yeah, And also Dion was in the Raiders conversation, right,
so it wasn't even that Dion wasn't in the NFL
world at all as a possibility down man.
Speaker 3 (01:02:34):
I said something I think everyone else was saying.
Speaker 1 (01:02:37):
I think you just think you're stronger than Vin. Really
set me on. You just just respect like the work
Kevin puts in to be strong. But you are getting
a lot stronger to look pretty good too.
Speaker 9 (01:02:47):
Thank you.
Speaker 1 (01:02:48):
Man.
Speaker 9 (01:02:48):
I've lost a decent amount of weight.
Speaker 1 (01:02:50):
He read has by eating right and doing exercise on
the off days.
Speaker 5 (01:02:55):
Yeah, consistency, what are you eating?
Speaker 8 (01:02:57):
Like?
Speaker 1 (01:02:57):
What's what's the difference?
Speaker 10 (01:02:58):
So I wake up five eggs and then I do
ground turkey with uh, ground turkey with asparagus or broccoli?
Speaker 1 (01:03:07):
Five eggs, five eggs? Do you eat them? I?
Speaker 9 (01:03:10):
Switch it up.
Speaker 10 (01:03:12):
I started out boiling them and then I was like,
this is too much, and then I started scrambling them.
And then now sometimes I do sunny sad up, but
it's just it's a lot of eggs.
Speaker 7 (01:03:21):
By that.
Speaker 9 (01:03:21):
By that fourth egg, I'm I'm sick of eggs.
Speaker 1 (01:03:24):
Yeah.
Speaker 10 (01:03:25):
So I do the five eggs, and I do the
ground turkey, which is essentially just dog food that I
put ketchup on with some broccoli, and then do the
protein shake, and then I'll do like chicken and asparagus
or whatever for dinner.
Speaker 1 (01:03:37):
And you've stayed with it, Yeah, how's that pee?
Speaker 3 (01:03:40):
After all that sparagus?
Speaker 9 (01:03:41):
Dude, it is raunchy.
Speaker 8 (01:03:43):
It is.
Speaker 1 (01:03:43):
Yeah, it's a real thing for you. Because I had
a sparagus A decent amount of mind. Doesn't smell about it.
Speaker 8 (01:03:46):
Really.
Speaker 1 (01:03:47):
Yeah, you think I said all day?
Speaker 3 (01:03:51):
Wow, what like you're eating beets?
Speaker 1 (01:03:55):
Yeah, and then like you go, I don't eat enough
beats to know. I'll eat beats occasionally on like a salad.
I don't eat beats enough to like monitor my that
freaks me.
Speaker 3 (01:04:03):
Out one time. Take me to the hospital. I am
dying this.
Speaker 1 (01:04:09):
We're proud of you, man, Thank you We're proud of you.
All right, who wins straight winners.
Speaker 3 (01:04:14):
At lifting one hundred pound ball?
Speaker 5 (01:04:16):
Nope, coming sometime.
Speaker 1 (01:04:19):
Straight winners go this weekend, Kevin, go, Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:04:22):
You gotta go Chiefs, Lions, Eagles, and I'm gonna go
Josh Allen, I'm gonna go to the Bills.
Speaker 5 (01:04:31):
It's his year.
Speaker 1 (01:04:32):
I will just do ditto. Marks. Those were all for
the same teams. I would have picked the same here.
Thanks Eddie.
Speaker 3 (01:04:40):
All Right, we gotta go Chiefs, and we've got to go.
I say, Ravens. Ravens win that, and then Eagles, And
this is.
Speaker 1 (01:04:50):
The switch my Eagles to the Rams.
Speaker 5 (01:04:52):
Really, let's go.
Speaker 3 (01:04:53):
That's definitely definitely a possible.
Speaker 1 (01:04:55):
I'm gonna switch my that's Rams are six point underdog.
They given up almost a whole touchdown. I'm still gonna
go with the Ram. Am, I'm ramming it. I'm sorry
to interrupt.
Speaker 3 (01:05:02):
Go ahead. I got Eagles on that one though. And
then my big shocker is I think the Commanders beat
the Lions. Woh, Casey, I mean I gotta go with yeah,
case Detroit. I mean, I like Philly, so I'll probably
stick with Philly. And I'm leaning Baltimore. I really think
that Derrick Henry thing is gonna kind of change change
the outcome of this game.
Speaker 1 (01:05:22):
So the only thing I guess I would say is
the Derrick Henry thing changing the outcome of a game?
Is that a thing I think? Isn't that just like
a massive part of the game. I guess what I
really mean is Lamar getting over the hump. That's what
I feel like this new running back. You guys don't
know about Derrick Henry. We know, I'm like, that's sometimes my.
Speaker 6 (01:05:41):
Words and my thoughts don't quite gel. And then what's
the thing that he's on the team and hard I don't.
Speaker 1 (01:05:47):
Know that's thing, Like, what's the thing?
Speaker 8 (01:05:49):
We know?
Speaker 1 (01:05:49):
Every thing I feel you So mostly the thing that's
being changes Lamar and his success in the playoffs.
Speaker 3 (01:05:56):
Yes, exactly, exactly.
Speaker 1 (01:05:57):
Okay, what'll be fun? That's it. Thank you all. There
is no update. We're all. I mean, I have five
people in for Super Bowl tickets. I mean, what about
this one hundred pound ball challenge?
Speaker 3 (01:06:11):
Oh, don't start, Casey, you think.
Speaker 1 (01:06:16):
About that, not to say say I'm gonna get fifteen
of them, say not another word. I've talked to each
person individually, so they don't feel pressure, Casey, that's hilarious.
Somebody's nice and I'm down first, I'm not involved, so
