Speaker 1 (00:00):
Yeah, Black. What's up? Guys?

Speaker 2 (00:05):
This is Nihilist Someone with AT and T Rising Future
Makers presented by AT and T Dreaming Black. We're talking
with Black creators who are shaping the now, the new,
and the next for culture this season. Charlie Mane God
has passed me the mic to get to know some
HBCU students that are on the rise.

Speaker 1 (00:22):
Hello everyone, my name is Nina Giddens and I'm currently
a congraduating singer at the illustrious Xavier University of Louisiana,
where I study public health.

Speaker 2 (00:30):
So you have five seconds to tell your story? What
is the first line.

Speaker 3 (00:35):
I have to say? I represent what black girls can
achieve when given support and opportunities.

Speaker 2 (00:40):
Wow, that was very well said. What does it mean
to be recognized as an AT and T Rising Future Maker?

Speaker 3 (00:45):
Being a part of this program has really kind of
served as a greenhouse of growth for me. I've received
so many connections, so to have that so young while
being an HBCU student truly is such a high honor.

Speaker 2 (00:58):
Do you see yourself as someone paving the way for
other Black creators?

Speaker 3 (01:02):
I would really hope that by looking at my journey
and all the things I've been able to accomplish at
such a young age that other black girls can see
what they can be.

Speaker 2 (01:12):
Complete this sentence. Connecting blank changes blank.

Speaker 3 (01:16):
Connecting your physical, mental, emotional, and reproductive health creates a
better you. Making sure that all parts of your health
are good. It will create a better youth for tomorrow
and also increase your own value in yourself because you
know you have a purpose in life. You can come
to that purpose if you're not well.

Speaker 2 (01:36):
I know that's right. Love your passion for it too.
