Speaker 1 (00:04):
What's up, guys. This is Nilist the Moe with AT
and T Rising Future Makers, presented by AT and T
Dreaming Black. We're talking with black creators who are shaping
the now, the new, and the next for culture this season.
Charlie Mine God has passed me the mic to get
to know some HBCU students that are on the rise.

Speaker 2 (00:22):
What's up you, guys. My name is Sarah Buckner, but
everybody calls me sorry Lee. I am now a graduating
Hampton alum and I served as the campus host media personality.

Speaker 1 (00:33):
Tell us the top three things you wish more folks
knew about the value of an HBCU you experience.

Speaker 2 (00:38):
Oh my god, I wish people knew how family oriented
HBCUs are and how important our education is and how
the standard of our education is top tier.

Speaker 1 (00:50):
What does it mean to you to be recognized as
an AT and T Rising Future Maker.

Speaker 2 (00:55):
I said this to AT and T. I told them.
When I got the email from them, I cried so
hard because I really wanted this so bad, and I
was just like, if I can get with AT and T,
I just know they can help me excel and get
me in rooms that I've never been in before so
that I can showcase who I am.

Speaker 1 (01:11):
Do you see yourself as someone paving the way for
other black creators?

Speaker 2 (01:16):
Now that I've had so many interactions with young girls
at HBCUs, I'm proud to say that I am following
in the footsteps and leading a past so that other
girls like us can see us in these rooms and
be like, if Nyla's there, if Sorry is there, then
I can be there. So that's all I want. And
I feel like it's actually happening in real time so
early on in my life.

Speaker 1 (01:36):
That's really dope. And thank you. I'm honored to inspire
as well.

Speaker 2 (01:39):
Thank you, Nila, It's been a pleasure. You are amazing too,
so I love you and I love everything that you do.
